Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good afternoon. I'm Cameron Parker filling in for Craig Way
for the first hour with the where Craig is at
and all that detail is coming up, But it is
a fire me up Friday here and glad to have
you with us on a beautiful Friday afternoon in Austin, Texas.
Eighty seven degrees sunny outside. And oh yeah, it is
a college football weekend. It's an NFL weekend, it's a

(00:22):
World Series weekend, it's an NHL weekend, it's an NBA
opening weekend. I'm glad to have you with us. I
am Camberon Parker. Craig Way is wheels down in Nashville, Tennessee,
where in less than twenty four hours, actually about twenty
five hours. In fifteen or so minutes, the Texas Longhorns

(00:45):
will return to the Gridirons will take on Vanderbilt at
First Bank Stadium in their first ever SEC Conference matchup
against the Vanderbilt Commandores, who are as Centric Golden describe
them on yesterday's Thursday media availability, are not our grandparents,
Vanderbilt Commodore's. They are a new team under Clark Lee,

(01:08):
who's done a fantastic job. Of course, they upset Alabama
already this season and are looking to pull off a
second Music City miracle. But hopefully Steve Sarkisian Quin Yours
and the Longhorns have something to say about that as they
try and bounce back from their loss to Georgia this

(01:29):
past weekend. But Craig is wheels down and it's funny,
We've only had you think about it. Two road games
this season for Texas, of course, Michigan in Week two
and Oklahoma and the Red River Rovrey. Now, our Friday
show was replaced by the Red River preview show where Craig, myself,

(01:51):
Mark Henry, and Mike Cars were alive at bar W
off of Maple Street in Dallas, So instead of me
being back in the studio while Craig was setting up
in Dallas, we were already up there, so we didn't
worry about that. But the one really true road game
for Texas was Michigan, and of course Craig was still
traveling up to Ann Arbor. And unlike other setups with

(02:13):
Texas Sports where it's a pretty simple setup, Texas Football
Radio broadcast obviously there's a lot to it, so it
takes a lot of setting up a lot of equipment
being moved their place on the Longhorn equipment truck. They
had their own social media account, as I'm sure most
Texas fans are already aware of. And so our Longhorn
Radio Network equipment is on that truck and believe it

(02:35):
was arriving at about one o'clock one thirty in Greg Clingansmith,
the Longhorn Radio Network football engineer, is beginning to set
up the broadcast radio booths. So until that is ready
for Craig Way, he will be waiting to join us. So,
like Michigan, I will be taking you through the first

(02:57):
hour and a half. In like Michigan, I am joined
by Andrews Simmel, who has been waiting patiently. And it's
been a few weeks, but glad to be back with you. Zimo,
how are you on this frame? I am doing great, Cam.
Have you already made all the ninety six year jokes?
Have you already done all the jokes about it's been
ninety six years since Texas and Banda have played. No,

(03:19):
but I haven't written my intro for tomorrow's Longhorns game
day show, So I'm guess I'm gonna I'm legally required
to work that in there, am I.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Mickey Mouse didn't exist, Penicillin was just rolling out. There's
a lot of cool stuff ninety six years ago.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Cam. I'm just saying it's all there for you. Yeah,
and I.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Don't think I existed as well, and neither did you,
So I mean, yeah, almost one hundred years since the
last time these two schools have made excited that the
preview that game as well.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Let's get you a preview of today's show.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
So Craig is hoping, hoping to join us for at
least hour two, so the three o'clock hour of the show,
and if not, me and Andrew will take you through it.
But we're gonna have some dialogue about Texas Vanderbilt. Some
really fun college football games this week, and including one
between the two remaining undefeated teams in the Southeastern Conference,

(04:14):
that is the LSU Tigers in the Texas A and
M Aggies. So we'll talk about that game a little bit.
That could have big implications on the college football playoff
and also, you know, depending on who wins that game,
of course, Texas may end up facing an undefeated A
and M team close out the year, and maybe they

(04:35):
not that game could decide who gets into the SEC
tablet game. Maybe it won't a lot of football to
be played, but that will have a lot of eyes
on that game across the college football country. Some of
their games as well also talk a little NFL, including
last night's Thursday night football game where the Vikings now
and Andrew, this is close to your heart, have lost

(04:56):
two games in a row, as the Los Angeles Rams
showing some mis a life three in four right now,
Puka Nakua returning, Cooper Cup returning. Last night in the
Rams actually looked like a decent football team when they
have some people, and we'll talk about that game. We'll
talk about the upcoming slate. I think it's Week nine,
including a really big something night football game between two

(05:19):
teams who are limping right now, a must win game
for the forty nine ers and the Dallas Cowboys. And
of course, in typical Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys fashion, the
biggest news story heading into the weekend. It's not about
the actual football game itself. It's about the Cowboys stadium tours.
Was that on your bucket list going into this week, Andrew,

(05:41):
to take a tour of the Star.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
No, I'm sorry, I'm not going to take a tour
of where grown net are lifting weights and working out.
I argue with my friends all the time. Is it
it's not weird for us as journalists to go watch
dudes workout. It's weird if you're getting a ticket to
watch your favorite team workout.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
I think that's a line too far. I under wanting
to tour facility. I mean, I would love the tour
of the Vikings new Stadium because that thing looks incredible.
But when there's grown people when they're actually like working out. Now,
if it's like practice, different, but if they're working out
or just going through, Like, who wants to see a
grown man in the hot tub?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Right? It's Ben, the Neuci's in the hot tub? Ben, Ben?

Speaker 2 (06:21):
What are we doing here? I'll go as far as
to say, you work in radio, working radio. Clearly when
they take the tours of like the high school or
elementary school kids through the radio station. Have you ever
been on one of those where you're working and they're
like tapping the glass when you're on air. It's happening
to me a couple of times, actually do that. No,
it's kind of weird.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Cam.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
I don't know, if you've ever been on the other
end of the glass of the zoo, it's not pretty.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, it's not.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
And there's a reason why most Cowboy players who were
interviewed for that story, and who some who weren't even
interviewed and I have spoken out, have said it is
a distraction. Jerry Jones said, it's not a fantastic disconnect
and shine some light into one of the most dysfunctional
organizations in the league and one that puts money over
winning on the football field. But that's another segment perhaps,
But again we'll previous some NFL action as well, coming

(07:07):
up in Week eight of the NFL season. Week nine
of college football NBA is underway. And Andrew, we'll talk
a little Spurs Mavericks. Want to get your thoughts on
last night's game, and so maybe some week one over
reactions as well. Now it is Friday, and of course
we have Inconceivable every day, but on Friday, Andrew, what

(07:30):
does inconceivable mean?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
It is a Florida Man Friday Cam. It's my favorite
day of the week. It's my favorite time to come
on the show because I love the Florida Man segments.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
I absolutely love them. Favorite part of the show. And
Andrew likes to spearhead our Florida man Friday. So what
is the fruit hanging load today or what?

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Brother? The fruit has never been lower.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
This is another one of those days where I've come
on and I was like, there's too many stories.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
We only have so much time. Many Florida band stories,
that is right.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
So we'll get to that, of course, and next segment
we'll talk a little Texas and Vanderbilt. Of course, if
you want to be a part of the show, please
text us to eight one five three Zerio text to
Ward Texas, followed by your message. Want to hear from
you Longhorn fans. How are you feeling about tomorrow's game?
It is a fire me up Friday. Craig Way will

(08:24):
be with us hopefully for hour two and three of
the day's program. Until then, it'll be myself, Cameron Parker
and Andrew zim will taking you through today's show as
we get just set for Week nine of the college
football season. Coming up next, We're going to talk a
little Texas Longhorns football as they take on a very
gritty Vanderbilt team. Can Texas bounce back? We'll talk keys

(08:47):
about that matchup and if Quinn Yours can return the
form that's coming up next year as a Craigway Show
