Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the program here. My name is Craig Way.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Glad to have you with us alongside, and pleased as
well to have the producer, Cameron D.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Parker alongside.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
The d on the birth certificate stands for Dallas as
in being named for his favorite NFL team that he
refuses to watch out of his own disgust and desperation
and frustration, so he doesn't watch him. And that is why,
that is why Tuesdays are special when we're on this program,
because during football season, we know that Jerry Jones speaks

(00:34):
on Tuesdays from our friends at one O five through
the Fan and Dallas for Worth. So every Tuesday I
make it a point to make sure the Cameron Parker
lifts some of that audio because I know what it
means to him to hear from the Cowboys owner, president
and general manager.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
How you doing today? I'm doing great, Craig. Jerry's comments
are always just they just bring joy to my heart,
you know, spring joy. It's just it's comedic relief, but
unintentional comedic relief. You know, like we all have that
family member right who is just funny by nature, right,
They're not trying to be funny. They're just funny. Funny

(01:13):
or their verbiage or whatever they do, it's funny. It's
the same thing with Jerry Jones. I mean just listening
him answer a simple question and the you know, the
his phrases, his accent, just how he completely answers the
question with an answer that has nothing to do with
the question.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
It's just I love it. I just absolutely love it.
I know. That's why I always like for you to
lift some of that audio.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
We're going to hear some of that from Jerry Jones
today talking about his three and four Cowboys team coming
off the loss at San Francisco and dak Presscott and
all that.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
So we'll hear from Jerry coming up today.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
It is an open date obviously on the schedule for
the Texas Longhorns, so no Steve Sarkisian sound today tomorrow.
Even with the fact that the open date is on
the schedule. Sark does his participates in the SEC teleconference

(02:08):
with the other fifteen Southeastern Conference head football coaches, So
we'll hear some things from sark tomorrow Today on the program,
we will look at the Southeastern Conference. We'll look also
at where things stand for the college football Playoff. We're
getting close to this, and here's some signs about it.

(02:29):
First of all, we update you when we have information about,
you know, as we draw closer to the College Football
Playoff rankings. The first set of rankings don't come out
until I think it's is it one week to the
day or two weeks from the day? I know a
week from the day obviously is election day, And I'm

(02:51):
trying to remember if it's or is it is it
November fifth or November November seventh? On that trying to
find I think it's because remember it's been on Tuesdays
in the past. I think it starts next Tuesday on
the fifth. We'll get the confirmation on that. I know
it's November for sure. Yep, I think it's next Tuesday.

(03:14):
In any event, there's still projections of the twelve teams
and the percentages and where they could go to get
into the College Football Playoff, and it has updated and
it has changed because of the playoff some teams Texas
A and M and some other teams that have increased
their chances. So we'll run down that. But here's another

(03:38):
sign to let you know that we're getting closer to
that sort of thing. Rich Clark is the executive director
of the College Football Playoff. Tomorrow he is doing for
the media a zoom where they go into greater tail

(04:01):
on the process. And I'm gonna, uh, I've been given
the link to that and I'm gonna I'm gonna be
in on that.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
And So it is November fifth. Ye I thought it
was it's a week, So it is.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
It's coming up a week from the day next Tuesday, right,
the fifth. Yeah, next Tuesday is the fifth, So that'll
be the first one. So Rich Clark is the election
it is.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
How about that? That's rather impactful, don't you think the.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
So so he is doing a zoom about how the
process works again in some of the criteria they're looking
at and all those kinds of things. Thursday, Halloween Thursday,
Rich Clark is going to join us on the show.
We're gonna We're gonna visit with him, the executive director
of the College Football Playoff on Thursday, and get his

(04:53):
thoughts on some things.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
So, so just.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Letting you know we're heading down that road, getting in
a little bit quicker on that. Uh, the NBA last night,
did you watch any NBA last year?

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I watched the Little Suns and Lakers. First of all,
I got to own apology to everybody. I thought Maning
cast was not an action last night. Turns out it was,
so apologies for the misinformation. Cam did say, yes, there's
no Manning cast. There was there was, But you know what,
here's the way I look at that. I doubt that

(05:24):
could be wrong about this. I doubt there were large
amounts of people who were tuning into the Giant Steelers game,
whether you know that hoping that there would be a
Manning cast, or I doubt that there were people not
watching because they were led to believe there wasn't.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
A Manning cast.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
In other words, my point is this, if you were
going to watch that game, if you're going to watch
Giant Steelers, you were going to watch Giants Steelers.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
You know. Now this is coming from the perspective of
obviously a hardcore and from very very early age Los
Angeles Dodgers fans. So obviously I'm swept up in the
whole World series and I'm watching that and I'm excited,
and the one went away at YadA Yadam will get
in all that. But my point was going to be
that people were either going to be watching the World Series,

(06:16):
or if they had a real abiding interest in Giant Steelers,
or they just don't care about baseball. And I've had
other people say I don't care because the Yankees and
Dodgers don't wanna care, and I would, and I would
jokingly say to him, well, you're in the minority of
them because they're having some of the largest numbers they've
ever had.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
But that's okay, that's okay.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
They don't feel feel displaced or bad or anything like that.
That's your own personal choice and decision whether or not
you watch football or baseball or whatever. Would I have
watched Giants Steelers if there was no World Series game,
maybe some of it, and I would have checked the
scene if there was a Manning cast. But you know,

(06:56):
I can only take so much Bill Belichick.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Really, it just kind.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Of wears on me by the time we get well
into the second quarters. It just some of his stuff
is good and then some of us. You know, I
was flipping over. I didn't find Lawrence Taylor that engaging.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
I didn't see him. I saw Cower, Yeah, and he's okay, cow.
You can watch him on CBS, right exactly. That's kind
of how it was.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
But I was mainly obviously watching the World Series, but
I was flipping over and catching in. I mean, there's
lots of three minute breaks in the World Series every
half inning, so you had a chance to flip over
and watch a lot of.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
That stuff, like an ABC college football game. Another four
minute break, there you go.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
So anyway, there's NFL to discuss now here at tweak eight,
so we'll talk about that.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
I mentioned college football as well, and I'm guessing you
feel pretty good. After the Dodgers took a three to
zero lead, now now pushing New York. I mean they
had Jeter thrown out the first pitch, they pulled out
all the stops everything.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Who was who did.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
That?

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Joe?

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, Fat Joe came out, you know, just after Cube
did it the other night at Dodger Stadium like that,
So they had fat Joe last night, do it? I mean,
they pulled out all the stops and then the Dodgers
still got to win. Do I feel I think the
keywords there are pretty good. And the reason why I
say pretty good is because it's never happened before the
team has come back in the World Series from down
oh three to win it. There is, however, a blueprint

(08:22):
for a team in a best of seven baseball playoff series.
Having done it was twenty years ago Red Sox Yankees
when the Red Sox were down three games to none. Ironically,
what's often mentioned is what flipped the switch on that
whole turnaround was Dave Roberts, then in the twilight of
his career, stealing second base for the Red Sox in

(08:44):
Game four, and it ultimately led to them coming back
to win the game.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
And then it touched off the whole big comeback.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
And I did find it because I watched all the
postgame coverage like on FS one on yeah, and then
also I watched the Dodgers, you know, their post game
coverage on Sports Net at LA and with no more
Garciapara and Oral Herscheiser and all the interviews that were
coming from the locker room and all that other kind

(09:09):
of stuff, and they carry the news conferences. Well, Dave
Roberts is sitting there and a guy asks him, knowing
that you've been on the other side of this before,
down O three, what do you think the Red Soix,
I mean, the Yankees are saying on how they can
get it turned and now sitting on this side of it.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
What's your message?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
He goes, Well, first of all, I'm not going to
even talk about that other side of it. He goes,
I've been over there, I know, and I'm not giving
anybody anything any words on that he said. But they
said they just have to keep their front on the gas.
It's a bullpen game the night for LA. So the
pitching advantage definitely goes to the Yankees. We've been saying
this all along, that the starting pitching advantage was going

(09:53):
to New York. It just hasn't lived up to the
building on that tonight. Definitely, with heel on the mound
for New York, a bona fide started in a really
good pitcher, and the Dodgers are going with a bullpen game.
It's a box of chocolates. It only takes one being
off the game to change it all. So do I
feel pretty good?

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (10:11):
But you know I also know this, If the Dodgers
don't win the World Series now, it will be the
greatest collapse in professional sports. I know.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I'm just I'm stating it like it is.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
If they don't win the World Series now, it's the
greatest collapse in professional sports.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
History. It is.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It just is so they know they still have work
to them, need to say it. It just is to
avoid that they got to get one win. They got
four shots to get one win. So that's where that is,
all right. Up next, we'll hear from Jerry Jones his
thoughts on his Cowboys team and other stuff from his
conversation on the radio in Dallas this morning here on
