Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've got a couple other pro football notes you get,
but I got this one last piece of sound from
Jerry Jones.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I want folks to hear.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
You heard Jerry right before the break was talking about
the emotions of the locker room and saying social media
is a big player today and the players all read
and they hear, and they whisper and.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
There was one thing that was a lot louder in
the whisper. Mike Leslie is a sports anchor at WFAA
in Dallas. Now, I'll put this in a complimentary of
fashion as I can. The guys who have followed Dale
Hanson a channel legged kind of try to emulate Dale

(00:40):
hants in a channel a little bit in terms of
some strong commentary and things like that, not just because
Dale did it, but because that's their personalities.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I know Mike for a long time.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
He's one of the ones in our rotation Eleigical Football
State Championship Telecathe does a fine job.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
But my point is is that they are not afraid
to share their opinion.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
And that's the way that Tegna hired up there to
do that because Dale Hanson kind of set you know,
the footprint for it, So Mike Leslie will come with
a pretty strong opinion. So sometimes it's on set and
a sports cass and a commentary like Dale does and did,
and sometimes it's just a tweet. And Dale Hansen was

(01:22):
never in Twitter. I don't think he was ever involved
in that. But Mike Leslie what he tweeted about Trayvon Diggs,
and he was pretty much insinuating because it was like,
what is he doing on this play? He was pretty
much insinuating that Trayvon Digs was kind of dogged it
on the pass to George Kittle that went for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Right, yeah, it was. It was third quarter, beginning of
the third quarter. Sam just go out the ball near
midfield and Purdy completed the pass to Kittle over the middle,
who is not being guarded by Trayvon Diggs, and Kittle
ended up turning it into a big game, was pushed
out of bounds finally by Trayvon Diggs inside the ten
yard line. So he quote tweeted the highlight and said,

(02:02):
what is Trayvon Diggs doing on this play? And I
think he was talking about Diggs's ever now as a
biased Cowboys fan here, yes, but also as a respected
I don't know, maybe maybe not member of the media.
I don't think Diggs's impact on this play was going
to change anything. Whether or not he was running one

(02:22):
hundred percent, he wasn't going to get there in time.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
As your point.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
No, and Kittle broke two tackles, and then also there
was a good block down the field from I don't
know if it's pure solij Orwan Jennings, and then Diggs
finally got there. So this play was not on Trayvon
Diggs at all. This is George Kittle beating a linebacker
and then we're just making the play happen, right.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I don't know. Well, Trayvon Diggs did not take kindly
to it. He did not.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
He came out of the locker room and encountered him, right,
He approached him and.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Said, he said, that's what you got from the play
out of all of that, that's what you got out
of the play.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
And he said something else that I think I can't
repeat on that.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Yeah, you can say these nuts, OK, it's okay to
say yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
We used to play the sound by the DSE nuts sound.
But yeah, you can say that.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
But uh and and Mike Leslie, to his credit, first
said I just asked the question. You want to answer
the question to be great, and he went back in
the locker room. He said something about these nuts and
Mike Leslie didn't tweet it out. Now, I'm not answering
any questions about these nuts or whatever it was.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
It was that the Deez, that that thing.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
And so flash it forward to this morning's interview with
r J and Shawn and they asked Jerry Jones about
the Trayvon Diggs thing in the altercation. Does it mean
if a player is going to take that kind of
offense to it that his focus isn't where it's supposed
to be.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Not at all, Not at all. They're focused on them.
They're disappointed that they didn't make a play or the uh.
They are more aware than than anybody about what they
might not have done where they busted an assignment, could
have made a play. So it doesn't surprise me at all.

(04:13):
I have absolutely no compunction dealing with emotion. Now we
all realize that we need to. If you will have
bite your lip where you need to, and to that end,

(04:33):
well you want to not overdo it. Maybe I don't
even need to remind you, guys. I heard you build
up to the show just a minute ago and you
were on with h Tarika uh and you were kind
of giggling about the again the stuff that we had.

(04:54):
And so bottom line is, guys, this is a This
is an emotional game and doesn't alarm me in any
way to see the manifestation of emotion.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Okay, So there it is manifestation of emotion. He wasn't
really worried about that. One other NFL note. We were
speculating about this yesterday, wondering now it's reality apparently because
if Chefty says that, it's going to be real, right,
Iam Schefford reporting Joe Flacco is going to start a
quarterback for the Cult Sunday Anthony Richardson after that weird
performance of not good and then asked off the field

(05:28):
for a play. Flacco is going to be the starter.
So and that's aren't they playing the Vikings this week?
It wasn't that the flexed game for Sunday night. I
was thinking that was I'm looking looking to see that.
But he is going to be he is going to

(05:48):
start their next game. I'm not seeing it listed that.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Of course, when I try and look at ESPAN website,
decides to fart. No, they played the Jets on Thursday. Okay,
all right, all right, so well then the Vikings play
the Colts on Sunday night. That game was flexed because
it was supposed to be JAG's Eagles Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Fright, That's what I'm saying. The Colts, Joe Flacker is
gonna start for the Sorry, yeah, that is flexed Sunday football. Bike,
So Joe Flacker is going to start against the Vikings
on Sunday night. And yes, interesting, Okay, make that, make
that move right now?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Joe Flacco for Sam Darnold. Who would have thought that
twenty twenty four, eighteen May No, I don't think so
even with in what world?

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Right this Madden? Is this going back to Madden? Yeah?
And also Stefan Diggs out for the year, Big Texas.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
All right, We'll be back to wrap up today's program
on sport Radio AUM thirteen under the Zone.
