Speaker 1 (00:00):
Like way alongside Cameron Parker. We're with you up until
five o'clock this afternoon. Then we'll h as. The word
I used yesterday was scurry over to Moody Center to
get you ready for Texas and Houston Christian Night in
the home opener for men's basketball. Well I'm more on
(00:20):
that coming up next hour. From Rodney Terry from his
weekly I mean, well it is a weekly mediasum, but
it was his first one over there. Okay, three of Moody, right,
what's that?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
It's three of mood Is it is?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Uh huh third season at the mood great building, what
a building, gosh. And you know, the first I think
the first whole first year, I did not see a
single and vet in there other than the basketball games
and I am seed a couple of athletic tip off
(00:55):
things stuff like that, but that was it. But in
the last year and a half, I've seen a bevy
of concerts in there, Doobie Brothers and Eagles with Steely,
Dan and Elo, and you know, I've just seen I've
seen a bunch of concerts in there, and it's been really,
really fun, great acoustics in their tremendous building, just a
(01:17):
really good building there. Okay, let me jump to the NFL.
Good bathrooms they do have that, that's true. Arenas what's
the bathroom? Solutely? What is it? What is the bathroom
such as you know, location of and uh and number
of restroom facilities?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
How quick can we get to the bathroom and come
back access egress?
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, yeah, very very important there. I will also tell
you that if if you are attending a show and
you're in either the Dell Club or the Indeed Club,
they have their own bathroom in there, which helps to see.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Now, you spoiled my dad because from time to time
you were able to provide him with Texas basketball tickets.
He won't sit anywhere else except for the Indeed section.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
He didn't want to sit anywhere else but there. Well,
sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We'll see. Let's talk NFL.
We were spoiled last night with another Bengals Ravens classic.
It didn't look like that in the first half, and
trust me, he's a guy who has Lamar Jackson on
his fantasy team. It didn't look good at all. I
think it's seventy yards passing in the first half, but
(02:30):
he just took over in the second half, as did
Joe Burrow. It was something else crazy thirty five thirty
four game at M and T Bank Stadium. The Ravens
came back from down fourteen I think they were down
twenty one to seven, came back and won that game.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
But that's not what.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
A lot of folks are talking about. You said some
of your friends kind of plug in on this deal.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, even l Michaels pretty big comment at the end
of the game about it.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Right, Yeah he did, Yeah, yeah, he did.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Also rest in peace of those who faced Jamar Chase
in Fantasy this week, and also congrats to those who
won their game because of Jomar Chase.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw one guy and then I
had Lamar Jackson Lamar thirty nine, Okay, and then and
then get this.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Burrow had more passing yards.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, he had forty two points for a guy who
was playing in our lag. Yeah yeah, forty two points.
Uh so yeah, it's it's kind of nuts.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
But anyway, I had chased brun of Mark Andrews, and
they both they.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Helped you very well. Zach Taylor's pretty upset the Bengals
coach about the hits that Joe Burrow was taken and
that there should have been a face mask called here
at the end, and there was other hits. He said,
quote they call it like they see it. I respect that.
I just got to keep fighting for some of that stuff.
(03:58):
You don't want to lose him on the hit. That's
well after the play's over. He said. Burrow hasn't won
the lobby for penalties during the game, but he said
he could be more vocal in those situations. He said,
I got to fight harder for Joe to get some
of that because he doesn't want to do it. He
didn't want to disrupt from his flow in the game.
That's just things I got to talk with him about.
(04:18):
Burrow was hit thirteen times and sacked three times in
the game. Some of those said a couple of them, anyway,
came after he released the ball and there's that gray area.
Is it roughing the pass or is it not? Is
it the momentum of the player. He also took that
hit the face and the failed two point conversion timp
could have given the Bengals leave it thirty eight seconds left.
(04:40):
Burrow said after the game the hit was a bit
too high, but the play didn't draw a flag. Only
one hit on Burrow was penalized last night, defensive end
Broderck washing and landed with the body weight on the quarterback,
and after the game he suggested the lack of penalties
falls in line with what he's dealt with roughout his career, quote,
I feel like I've never gotten those calls, so I
don't really expect that. I feel like a couple of
(05:00):
her close again, I don't expect those, So that sparks
like a little bit of conversation about Little Research and ESPNSS.
According to their research ESPN Research, Burrow was pressured on
forty percent of his dropbacks against the Ravens. That's the
fifth highest rate of any game in his entire five
(05:22):
year career, and he had a QBR of seventy two
point six when he was pressured, his highest on the
zero to one hundred scale for any game that he
had a pressure rate of forty percent or higher. He
was thirty four fifty six four and twenty eight yards
four touchdown, zero interceptions, and two of those touchdowns came
in the fourth quarter of Cincinnati trailing after the fourteen
(05:45):
point league got away and he was seen grimacing a
couple of times on the sideline. After the game, Zach
Taylor nic didn't have any rib injuries and dealing with
soreness this morning. He said that he goes. I mean,
he took some good hit, but I think just talking
to him, the left arm was just a hit, a bruise,
so but it was rough. But you know, Ravens defense
(06:09):
can be like that. And seen that even though they've
given up a lot of passing yards this year, Baltimore
has when they got off to their sluggh start, they
were giving up a ton of passing yards. Yeah, they
got better at it, and then they gave up four
to twenty eight last night.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, and a lot of that too. You look at
the quarterbacks they faced Craig, which I think plays a
little bit of a part in it with you have
Mahome or sorry, you played Burrow week one? Well what
was week one? Oh, Chiefs are Mahomes and he lost
to the Raiders. Played Dak, you played Josh Allen, you
played Burrow the first time, you played Jaydon Daniels, Then
you played Baker Mayfield. Then he lost the James Winston
(06:42):
and that was the game where they really just really
struggled defensively against the pass and looked good he last
week against the Broncos. But that's bow next. So it's
I still think Baltimore is the best team in the
foot in the league right now, but that pass defense
is very susceptible, and if the Chiefs can get healthy,
you know, Mahomes will be looking his chops to face
(07:03):
that team possibly in the AFC title game if they
don't get it figured out. And I'm you know, I
think they traded for what trajevious wife, the former Bill's cornerback,
so trying to you know, help out that secondary. But yeah, Greg,
it's I mean, they've gotten gashed for over four hundred
yards multiple times this season.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
So you you said you'd think the Ravens at six
and three are better.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Than the eight and oh Chiefs, I think right now,
But a lot of that is just the Chiefs are
so banged up injury wise. Yeah, yeah, I think if
they've played right now, I know, I know the Chiefs
won in Week one, and a lot of that. I
think the Ravens just kind of blew that game multiple times.
I think they played right now. I think the Ravens
would win on a neutral field. But but if Hollywood
(07:48):
Brown can come back and Pacheco comes back. The defense
on Case is much better than Baltimore's defense. But Baltimore's
offense right now is just phenomenal. I mean, They're low
points scored in a game this season is twenty, right,
and that that came in Week one.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
They've scored against the Chief.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, they scored over thirty points the last two weeks
and against a pretty good Denver defense. Put up twenty
four against you know, Cleveland, that that weird game, but
dropped forty one on Tampa Bay, thirty on Washington, forty
one on Sincy, thirty five on Buffalo. Their offense is humming.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Here's why I would just I think it's going to
be so hard to beat Kansas City, not only.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
The defending champions back yeah yeah, and and the record
they're posting, they're gonna wind up getting home field probably
all the way through that sort of thing.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
But you look at the scores of their games. They
beat the Ravens by seven, Remember the Ravens thought they
had a game tying touchdown catch and toes were out.
One point win of the Bengals, five point win over
the Falcons, seven point win of the Chargers. They beat
the Saints by thirteen. They're in free fall. They beat
the forty nine Ers, a bang up forty Niners team,
by ten. They beat the Raiders by seven. They beat
(09:00):
the Bucks in overtime by six. But there haven't been
any obliterations of teams like you might expect from an
eight to o team. But the point is is that
they know how to win. Obviously, they got a quarterback
nehos how to win late game. But they've got players
team guys on that team who know how to make
certain plays late in the game, whether it be in
the fourth quarter or as was the case on Monday night,
(09:20):
in overtime, to find a way to win. And that's
where I think, you know, they've got that winning formula thing,
that that in factored thing. It's going to be hard
to beat down the stretch of the regular season and
end of the postseason. All right, Coming up next, we've
I want to mention, well, we've got to get into
(09:41):
some NBA. We'll do that as well, and on down
the road we got a little bit of high school
fotball to get into as well. So we'll continue with
all that and more here on a Friday afternoon on
Sports Radio A. I'm thirteen on the zone in the
igh Art Radio app.
