Speaker 1 (00:00):
Before it slips my mind, because I didn't want it
to slip my mind, and that was to pay the
proper respect to the NBA and toward that end, not
only what's going on. One of the more fascinating stories.
There's a couple of real fascinating stories in the Eastern Conference.

(00:21):
I would say cam One is the Sixers and everything
they're going through and the injuries and MB and the
suspension and shoving the reporter and the fine and all
that other kind of stuff, and they're really struggling. The
other is the Milwaukee Bucks, who are just flat out
struggling that and there's train talk right now.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
No, not Yanna sentinakupone.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
They're not, no, no, not looking to soon, not looking
to trade him apparently, they say they say the Bucks.
The word is is that they're looking for help for
Giannis and Dame Lillard because Chris Middleton's been out a
lineup with the offseason ankle surgery. So they're just two
and six right now. What you know, what in the

(01:05):
world could the Bucks be after here?

Speaker 3 (01:07):
It's a good it's a good question, Craig. They're an
older team, you know, Lillard, Chris Middleton. I would say,
on the on the back end a very career. You know, Dame,
he still can put up big numbers.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
He can still.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
I mean he's scored forty one points this season's he
put up thirty four last night, thirty six against Cleveland
on Monday and their two point loss. I don't know
if I'm completely freaking out on this team. We know
two and six is obviously just a just an awful start,
but some of those games have been pretty close. One
point lost to Cleveland that came on a Donovan Mitchell

(01:44):
game winner, Cleveland lost by two points, lost by nine
at Boston, which is a tough game, and they've had some,
you know, pretty bad losses to Brooklyn, to Chicago, to
Memphis as well. I don't know if there's a fixed Craig,
because I think this team has been constructed very poorly,

(02:05):
and they're very old. I mean, brook Lopez thirty six
years old, Middleton thirty three. He's had a cluster of injuries.
You mentioned the offseason ankle injury. Dame Lillard at his age,
he's thirty fod he's a smaller guard. I mean even Giannis,
you know, he's getting close to thirty years old. So
Pat Connington thirty one. It's just an older, older roster now,

(02:26):
you know. I like them signing the lawn Wright and
Gary Trent guys come off the bench there. But I
just don't know, Craig, if they their best five can
hang with the best five other teams in the Eastern Conference,
because you got to get past the Boston Celtics. Yeah,
and the Boston Celtics are very young, very athletic, and

(02:48):
to be quite frank, they are a matchup nightmare for
the Milwaukee Bucks.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Do you think that?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I guess the better question is how for real is
Cleveland's note and oh record, I think they are for real.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
They are great roster.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
It seems that Mitchell and Garland are starting to kind
of figure each other out. Remember last year, I mean Garland,
he had that so the jaw injury, you know, and
that's tough to really come back from.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
He's wearing the masks. I mean, that cannot be comfortable.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
He got all these weird trade rumors going on, and
then Mitchell ends up resigning with Cleveland. Anyway, defensively, I
mean the laps that can put out there defensively with
Jared Allen and Evan Mobley, that that's a nightmare for
teams trying.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
To get to the paint.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
The key will be in the playoffs, and we got
long ways to go before we get there, obviously, but
the key is, you know, what will their offense look
like in the playoffs, but will be their five because
last year's playoff against you know, the Magic, they really
struggle to get a good offense out there at times.
But with the continued development of what we're seeing for
Mitchell in Garland, they're they're they're a fun team to

(03:52):
watch and you know, I hope they.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Keep it up.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Uh don't look now, but climbing toward respectability or the
Spurs four and five. They beat the Blazers. I know
they're the Blazers, but they beat them. They beat them
last night and they really just kind of got a
real balance scoring. Nobody had over seventeen points in the game.
But you had two guys with seventeen. You had two

(04:15):
guys with fourteen, one with twelve, one with eleven. I
mean there's three guys with fourteen, two guys with seventeen,
so they they kind of spread it around a little bit.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Yeah, two wins against you know, two teams below five
hundred had that win against Minnesota, beat Houston early on
in the season by three points. Dylan Fazel will come back.
I think he's gonna play on Sad said tomorrow. So
that'll be a key key for this person. Also, are
they gonna get coach Pop back? We you know, we

(04:48):
hope he's okay, dealing with his healthy Wimby said last night,
and he thought he was going to come back soon.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Whatever, you know, So there was that, Okay on the
schedule for tonight. Which game are you more excited about?
Warriors and Cavaliers were Suns at Maverick Warriors Cavaliers. So
this will be a real fun game. Two of the
best teams defensively out there. Golden State's seven and one

(05:15):
had that big win over Boston, able to do it
with a bunch of just young guys. As Steph Curry
continues to put up just ridiculous numbers in for Cleveland.
As you mentioned Craig, you know, he asked, is this
Cleveland team for real? I mean early on so far
this season nine to zero record, but you know, their
best win. You know, you could argue maybe it's Orlando

(05:39):
by eleven points, but they haven't really faced, I don't
think a true contender now. I don't know if Golden
State's a contender yet because they're a team that going
in the season, I think a lot of people, including myself,
thought they were a playing team. But it'll be a
real fun game to see Mitchell and Garland go up
against Steph Curry tonight. Really impressed to see what Jared
Allen's doing so far for the Cavs. Fifteen points, twelve boards,

(06:02):
a couple of assists. He's a fantastic player. He has
really been something else. Meanwhile, Son's man evericks. That's that's
kind of attractive.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Oh yeah, I remember the last two last time these
two teams play, there's a little bit of trash talk
going on between Katie and Luka Doncts as the as
Phoenix was able to come out there with a twelve
point victory early on in the season. So this will
be a fun game. I mean, Durant put up thirty
two the other night in the win. You know, Lucas

(06:29):
gonna come out and drop thirty points or plus. This
will be this will be a fun one to watch,
just for the Katie first, Luca Dynamic.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Your thunder at home against the Rockets tonight you said
you liked the Rockets what you've seen from him so far?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Could you good up and coming young franchise Oka See
trying to bounce back after their tough loss to Denver
the other night. But get back at home. This will
be a fun one as well. Houston five and three okay?
See seven and one okay?

Speaker 1 (06:59):
And could could we be any less enthused about a
Sixers Lakers matchup than we have been in a long
long time about that matchup? Hey, Briandy James making his
what is South Bay debut? And apparently it's sold out?
Is it really sold out already? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
But the buildings like real small, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
I'm sure it's not a big building.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I think it's like three thousand or something. I don't
think it's I don't think it's much of it.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
I could be wrong. You're pouring cold water.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
I'm just saying no, I'm just saying slow your roll
a little bit on use of the words sellout.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah, it's in Alsagundo, right.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
They play at the Use Health Training Center. So it
sounds like it seats like seventy three people. It probably
does capacity. No, this can't be right, seven and fifty.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Yeah, yeah, it can't be absolutely better, be a sell better,
That's what that.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Was my point.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Look, these places where the where the G League games
are going on.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
They're not anyth to make I guess I'm looking. I
think of the HGB Center, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah, which is a really it's one of the better
places in the G League, but most of the places
are like that. It's basically going to a high school
gym almost. It's a training facility with some bleachers. That's
pretty much what it is. So that's why I said that.
And Browny what he's gonna split time between the Big

(08:22):
Club and South Bay.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah. I don't know what the Lakers planner. I do
know they're in a bit of a free fall. Four
and four start after starting yeah, three and oh, and
people already the crown Reddick as Coach of the Year,
and now you got Reddick abruptly leaving press conferences. Philadelphia,
they're in some trouble because now Max he's out, you
get Paul George back, you still don't have him be
because he's suspended for shoving a reporter. So not a

(08:47):
good start to the new Philadelphia seventy six er era
with Paul George looking at one and seven right in
the face.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Yeah, and the.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Lakers should get back upout five hundred and one. Other
NBA note, how you feeling Lonzo Ball?

Speaker 3 (09:02):
I have not seen too much of him yet this
Oh yeah, Lonzo LaMelo For a second, I have not
seen a lot about Lonzo. I mean it's you know,
he missed almost three years of professional basketball, a lot
of injuries. I mean that that comeback, it's got to
be tough what he's what he's been through the last
couple of years. So, you know, again, just happy to
have him back out there on the court, but it's

(09:23):
gonna take some time for him to, you know, get
to fill the game back.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
And taking a great deal dudes, averaging twenty eight points
a game. You he must be what but we've all
known what Lonzo's game is. You know, he's gonna shoot
and getting the ball, and he's gonna drive and he's
gonna shoot. It's gonna be a gonna be a lot
of that. Uh. They play the Pacers tonight at home

(09:48):
and the Hornets are three and five. But you're you're
talking about LaMelo or did I say a Lonzo? Yeah, LaMelo,
I'm sorry, I oh yeah, LaMelo is his first team
stat pattern on this hornet yep. First team stat pattern
sat patter. Yeah, that's kind of like Eddie Orn saying it.
You're all knife and fork him when we're on the road.
He's a first team stat patter is LaMelo ball.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Every every bad team has to have one player that's
putting up, you know, decent numbers.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, and he is.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
He is our big numbers. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Twenty eight points, five rebound, six assists. Four. Team that's
three and five and a team that you expect to
be a bottom feeder this year.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Yeah, I don't maybe outside chance of making them playing.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, okay, all right, up next, I want to get
to some of the big high school football matchups of
the weekend. We'll do that when we continue on Sports
Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.
