a college football note and high school footballcause the playoffs underway.
First college football, You've heard a lot of things about
Bill Belichick. What different people have thought about Bill Belichick returning?
What was it? We ran the sound bite yesterday from
Rich Eisen from his show with Sark Sark. The word

Sark used was fascinated. I'm fascinated by this. How does
Nick Saban feel about it? He was asked about Bill
Belichick returning.

Yeah, coach after West Virginia hire and Rich Rout, the
second biggest hiring is definitely Bill Belichick down in UNC.
What do you think about that whole plan for UNC?
I don't know saw the Bill Belichick contract and things
of that nature, but there's escalators and stuff like that,
and there's an out possibly. Why did you think he
went to UNC? And you see other guys from the

NFL maybe making the jump to college because it is
much more like the pro game.

Well, I look, I'm happy for Bill. I think he
probably wanted a new challenge and this is certainly going
to be a great challenge for him. North Carolina is
a great academic institution as well as They've got plenty
of you know, athletic tradition there in basketball, football, and
Bill's a great coach. And I think the biggest difference,

and I coached both. You know, I coached in the
NFL as a coordinator, as an assistant, as a head coach,
and I coached in college and all three of those
responsibilities as well, is coaching the players is really not
that different. You know, people always say, well, that's really
hard to coach them guys in the NFL. I never
thought that was a problem. You know, if you're a

good coach and you create value for those guys, they
love you because you're going to extend their career, they're
going to make more money, and they're happy. The difference
in college is how do you bring guys to the team.
You know, it's different than drafting guys than it is
to have to recruit them, because recruiting is like a
full time relationship building three hundred and sixty five days

a year in terms of not only evaluating the players
that you want, but creating the relationships with them to
get them. Now, everybody says it's like the NFL because
they're making money now, but it really still takes you
to be able to sell them that you're going to
develop them, and I think Bill will be able to
do that. But I think the biggest thing that will
be a challenge for him is the time that you

have to spend recruiting, making phone calls, talking to parents
and all those types of things to get the kind
of players that you need. You know, having the resources
is important to be able to pay them, and I'm
glad that the players get paid. I'm not crazy about
the system that they're getting paid in, but I hope
we can get that fixed. But I do think this
guy's going to Bill do a great job there of

getting good players, and he'll do a great job of
developing those players. The biggest adjustment for him will be
the time spent recruiting.

Okay, coach on that note, I think there's a lot
of people, I mean, maybe myself included, and I have
not been in your position or in the college football
world long enough to think like this, but like people
see what happened with coach Prime, or coach Prime's not
taking as many in house visits. He kind of does
everything very FaceTime or zoom, and then he's able to
land obviously, because he's coach Prime and everybody has faith

and trust that he's going to be able to get
the bulls to become successful men.

really good game tomorrow, a lot of people think North

winner of the matchup tomorrow and Katie between west Lake
and north Shore and I'll be joined by Greg Tepper

is Summer Creek and Vandergrid Five A Division two. Both
games are tonight Argyle and Southolkcliff on the SMU campus. Richmond,
