Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Longhorns prepare now getting ready for this matchup with
the Clemson Tigers and Quinn Youwers took part in the
media availability yesterday, So here's a conversation with the media
and QB one of the Longhorns.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I mean, I would say just my teammates and just
the work we put in together and just the amount
of time that we put in physically and mentally to
get to where we want to be.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
And that's that's the ultimate reason why we all do
it for each other.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Something buy a physical and mental I know Sark really
went out of his way to.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Give you all actual break as well as physical. How
are you feeling in both aspects right now? Yeah, I
feel good. It's good to get some time off, for sure.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Quinn.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Clemson's defense for live turnervers this year, Just what have
you seen that they do well?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
I mean they fit the right gaps.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
I mean they're they're they're coached well, they play hard
and that creates turnovers. Quinn, QB One for all those
people in fans film, how are you preparing for this week?
What was your grip rec Yeah, just like any other game,
just try to not build it up too much. In

(01:09):
my head and just try to go out there and
play my game. Does it at least feel different though,
just because this is like NFL style tournament in a
way playoffs? Yeah, I mean maybe not right now, but
as it gets closer maybe so. But like you said,
I mean, it's never been a home hosted playoff game,
so that'll be cool for sure. Did you take away
from last year when you guys played Washington in that

(01:29):
playoff experience the first time? Few?

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Obviously, what can you take away from that? What'd you
learn from that experience?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Well, I mean, for all the guys that have came
back after that, we got a lot of experience and
in a big time game like that, and you know,
we took away that in games like that, things are gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Go wrong, things are gonna go right.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Just gotta keep playing when the I mean, just try
to get the battle of the playmakers and let them
go to work at the end of the day. It's
it sounds like a simple answer, but I mean that's
kind of just how simple it is.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Quinn, you and Taff were exactly the best terms in
the twenty twenty one state championship game. You know, he
intercepted you obviously on that final play. But could you
have ever imagined that that guy would have been like
such a reliable teammate now.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Like during the game or like after the game.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
I knew he was a good player obviously in high school,
and like you said, he's just like the backbone of
that defense and ultimate, I mean, really just a backbone
of this team. Everyone follows Taff and believes in what
Taff says, and he's just an.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Awesome teammate to have, for sure.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I guess, like looking at it, you only think about
the good whenever you're a kid. But that's just life though,
I mean, stuff's gonna come your way. It's just you
gotta keep keep moving forward. But it's been fun for sure.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
What's what's been the most enjoyable part and what's been
the most miserable, most enjoyable man, besides talking about here,
I'd say just getting to know all these guys from
different different demographics and.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Just learning their stories and just getting to know guys
from all over the country. That football, I mean, football
has given me the opportunity to opportunity to get to
know them.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
And without without this team and without football.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I wouldn't have I wouldn't have been able to build
the relationships that I've built over the past three or
so years. Yea, most most what was it miserable? Man,
It's all just been a learning experience and and nothing's
really been super miserable for me.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
It's all.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
It's all been a good time. Well, I think just
I think we're hurting ourselves at the end of the day.
I mean, we got no problems moving the ball and
having explosive plays and whatnot. But you know, whether that
be penalties or.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Loss of yard, it's on passes, runs, whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
I mean, we just got to remain confident when we
past that twenty thirty yard line.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Quinton much recruited by Clinton and Dado Caniana High.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
School and it's been a while, I think a little bit,
but I don't think I got offered by him.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
And so much of that twenty one game was maybe
to be against Katee and what you guys would do
in the futures and talking.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
About back to full circle and all of the.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Quarterbacks of their home of this again and do you
have any relationship with them?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, no, it's definitely cool for sure. And meet me
and Kaid having good relationship and he's a cool dude.
It's definitely cool to get to play each other again.
Like you said, it comes full circle and whatnot.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, the full circle being, of course, the UIL six
A state championship game that they played back in twenty
twenty one when it was West Like led by Kate
Club meeting South like Carol led by Queen Yours. All right,
we'll be back to wrap up Hour number two on
