he will be back tomorrow as Texas takes on Clemson
in the college football playoff, and we have a very
(00:43):
special Saturday for you. Our coverage begins locally at noon

(01:07):
get you all set for Texas and Clemson ron from
twelve to two Central Time tomorrow, and then network coverage
begins with Craig Way, Roger Wallace, and Will Matthews from
two on throughout the game of course, kickoff about three PM.
I think we're thinking about three ten, three point fifteen.
Of course, now there is a game in the morning
(01:28):
before Texas and Clemson. Believe eleven AM tomorrow will be
the first game of the College Football Playoff or Starry
the second game SMU and Penn State. Of course, it
does begin to night Indiana in notere Dame. Out of
the four playoff games, three of the four will be
playing in below freezing temperature. It's gonna be about sixty
(01:52):
two degrees tomorrow, So Texas fans be thankful. It's going
to be a gorgeous day for college football tomorrow. But
tonight in South Bend tomorrow, in Happy Valley tomorrow, in Columbus,
it's gonna be a little cold, be a little chilly.
Of course, if you're in Columbus now it's called Kneeland North.
If you guys have seen that. With Tennessee apparently flocking
(02:14):
up the Columbus, but again we'll break down all four
games throughout the show. There is some sound for head
coach Teve Sarkejian sound from Fix Shaate for the Texas
women's basketball coach. They have a big non conference game
on Sunday, and of course we're gonna visit with Craig
Way on today's program. He'll actually be joining us up
next about two point fifteen live from Jerier World, and
(02:35):
then throughout the show some special guests, including Eric Henry
from Horns two four to seven. He's gonna stop by
in the four o'clock hour and get his final thoughts
on this Texas Clemson showdown, and also step away from
golf or step away from college football and go into
the world of golf with Jeff Shackelford, fantastic golf author,
(02:56):
reporter and podcast coach. He'll stop by the next hour. Guz,
there's been some more developments in the game of golf,
but glad to have you with us here. Of course,
if you want to be able to take part in
the show, text us on the Texas line. Text to
where Texas the eight one to five to three zero,
followed by your message today. I want to hear everyone's
predictions for Texas in Clemson tomorrow. Texas a twelve point
(03:20):
favorite right now over the Tigers in this college football
playoff game. Of course, you can also leave a message
as well using our talk back feature on the iHeart
Radio app. Of course, download the app, make sure you
subscribe to our podcast and leave a message. Hold on
that red microphone button. Let's hear your predictions for this game.
(03:42):
I'll start with not a prediction, but kind of how
I'm feeling. It's going to be a tight game. I
think it's gonna be low score. Texas offense obviously has
not had the same success as it had in the
first half of the season. I think you can point
to a variety of reasons. One, well, haven't had SETI
quarterback Blay Viewers has been banged up. He's been beat up,
oblique injuries, ankle injuries. Now he practiced this week without
(04:05):
a brace, so hopefully he will be as healthy as
he has been since what Week four of the college
football season, week three? Maybe maybe since what utsa Louisiana
Monroe the beginning of that game. Another part, Texas has
not had a true number one running back at all
the season. Of course lost CJ. Baxter, a freshman. Christian
(04:26):
Clark went down both season ending injuries. So huge credit
to Quindrevion Weisner who has stepped up. He's been a
rock so far at the running back position, but haven't
had the seasons that we were hoping for from Jaden Bluelaw.
That has to do with hangout with the football. Jered Gibson,
same thing. I think Gibson would be used a lot
more if not for his fumbling issues. So Texas kind
of star, kind of one hand behind the back with
(04:49):
the running back situation, but that's college football. You're going
to have to deal through the injuries. Other part of it.
Isaiah Bond more injuries And this is from Pete Thammel
this of yesterday and he tweeted sources. Texas receiver Isaiah
Bond faces long odds to play against Clemson this weekend
as he recovers from a high ankle sprain. He may
end up a game time decision on Saturday, but has
(05:11):
done limited football activity this week and has been focused
on rehab work. Member Sark on Monday said that Bond
was shut down for the entire past week and this
week on that Monday media availability where they had there
was a media window for the media to come out
and watch the game or watch the practice. Excuse me,
Bond was on the sideline. He was not partaking in it.
And I think the best for the best thing for
(05:31):
Bond in Texas offensively let him sit this game. Let
him get back to one hundred percent. Because if Texas wins,
and I think they can beat Clemson without playing perfect,
without having Isaiah Bond, you give Isaiah Bond an extra
week to hopefully come back and be ready for Arizona State.
I think honestly they could get buy Arizona State as
well without Isaiah Bond. But to beat Oregon and to
(05:53):
win a national championship, maybe it's not Oregon, maybe it's Tennessee,
Ohio State, But to beat any of those three teams, honestly,
and then Notre Dames or JA Penn State, whoever comes
out of that side of the bracket, You're gonna need
a true receiver one because I think Texas has been hurting.
It's been hurting Quinn yours not have that trusted receiver one.
And as we talked to with CJ. Fogel early in
the week, Isaiah Bond is the guy who takes the
(06:15):
top off the defense, right He is your deep threat,
He is your speedster. Texas doesn't really have that. You know,
maybe John day Cook could have been a good role
in that, but guess what John day Cook now with
the football team anymore. Bond's been injured. It's definitely hurting
this Texas offense no matter how you see it, and
not being able to have that deep threat has been
hurting the Texas passing game and also hurts the running game.
(06:37):
Because if you're a defense and you're not worried about
Isaiah Bond, you're worried about shutting down Gunner Helm as
Georgia did a mistitled game, or focusing on Ryan Wingl
or Matthew Golden, you can limit the offense. So for Texas,
I think to be successful, to make a deep run,
you need, essay a Bond healthy. But it does appear
that Bond, according to Pete Thamill, is facing long odds
(06:59):
to play on Saturday against Clemson. Now, Calvin Banks, I think,
I said inside Texas reporting that he may ever turned
to practice at the end of the week to believe
he's going to start tomorrow, which will be huge for
Texas and the offensive line that had trouble protecting Quinn
and had trouble getting the run game going against Georgia
and the SEC title game. Clinton has some big bodies
(07:21):
in the d line, but I do think they're going
to be able to run the football down the Tigers throats,
and I think with Wiser or Blue or Gibson will
be helpful. I would love to see a little bit
more of arch manning in the red zone, depending on
how healthy Quinn is. But the red zone leave under
eighty percent now in terms of scoring success, that's not
high at all. I mean, the offense look good in
(07:41):
the red zone the start of the year, but everything
has kind of dripped down towards his second half of
the year, and a lot that has to do, I
think with the injuries to quarterback, receiver, offensive line, and
just a lack of debt at running back. We'll get
more into this Clemson Texas game. Of course, gonna talk
with Craig Way up next, Eric Henry as well get
his thoughts on Showdown again. Will be live at Longhorn's
(08:02):
Game by tomorrow at noon through two o'clock on Bevo Boulevard.
Hook him hang out Winships Circle. We have Big Beer
thed next to us. We have the food trucks next
to us. Come out, grab it bye to eat, grab
a beverage and come listen to myself, my cars, and
Mark Henry. Gonna have some special guest stopping by former
players as well. Gonna visit with Craig Waye and Roger
Wallace from the Booth. Could their take on this game.
(08:23):
Gonna get my Carg's Keys to the game, and I
think everyone's favorite segment, Mark Henry's High Drain. It's better
in person. I'll recommend that. So please come out and
join us tomorrow again. Kick off schedule for three o'clock.
Of course, you can listen on AM thirteen hundred. The Zone.
Also on ninety eight point one gave that in a
one to three one, Austin's eighties station is a Friday.
(08:47):
What does that mean? For inconceivable Florida Man Friday, we
go to the more flaccid of the lower forty eight states.
And oh yeah, just because Craig is in Arlington does
not mean he will not contribute to an inconceivable on Friday.
It's also a fire me up Friday here we're just
getting going on The Craig Way Show.
