Speaker 1 (00:05):
Back to the Craig Way Show. Connect with Craig through
the text line by text Team Texas to age one
five three zero, followed by your message. Standard message and
data rates may apply. It is Thursday. Think about it
(00:26):
for a moment.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
You know, the holidays can discombobulate or in the case
of Cameron, the flu can discombobulate you a little bit
and have you bedridden a little bit. Did your dad
like bring you like the soup and medicine and stuff
like that.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
No, I think I asked him for some food and
he didn't respond to me.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
So that was that.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Wow, And the two of you sat together the football again.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
I know, I know, but I do have. I did
have an uncle that went and got me chicken into
soup from Whole Foods.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
I met that uncle, right, I met that uncle. He
was at your place one time when I I had
like three around. Okay, there was one that was really cool.
I really liked about it, probably the cool one.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Okay, but.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
The game above Sport Bowl, that's one in Detroit. Right now,
they are in the third quarter and uh, Toledo leeds
Pittsburgh twenty to twelve. And I had a chance. Looked
like they were going to go in and really expand
the lead, and they got stopped on the fourth and
one inside the thirty yard line, So that pit with
the ball and trying to drive down eight twenty to twelve.
(01:28):
That's ten minutes goo third quarter. Okay, I wanted to
go over the clinching scenarios here for the NFL playoffs. So,
as I mentioned in the AFC, Kansas City has already
wrapped up home field advantage number one seed throughout the
course of the playoffs, which has Patrick Mahomes excited. He
wants a bye week baby, that's the way he's saying it.
(01:51):
Remember they used at the store bye bye baby. If
you had went to Bye bye baby during a bye
week baby, that anyway, you don't keep up with toy
and small children and stuff like that. I mean, you
hadn't been around a toy. So anyway, they've clinched the
(02:16):
one seat. The Chargers play the Patriots in Foxboro on Saturday.
There's a triple header, by the way, on Saturday, NFL
Network triple header. For those of you who are grumbling
about the streaming double header yesterday on Netflix, I get it,
and all season long last couple of years, with Prime Video.
(02:38):
I get that as well. They're back to just NFL
network stuff. So if your cable or satellite provider hads that,
then you're okay. There's a triple header tomorrow Chargers and
Patriots or Saturday, Chargers and Patriots is the first game,
and the Chargers can get a playoff spot just by
winning or having the Colts lose to the Giants on
(03:01):
Sunday and Miami losing at Cleveland. If those two things happen,
that the Chargers are in, but they control their own destiny.
They win, they're in. Broncos win and they're in. They
play the Bengals. That's the middle game of the three
on Saturday NFL Network telecast. That's in Cincinnati. If the
Broncos win, they're in. It's as simple as that. If
(03:24):
they lose, they're not eliminated. But that's the only way
they can get in right now is to win. Now
here are the Week seven, and by the way, the
teams that have already clinched spots, the Chiefs, the Bills,
the Steelers. The Bills of course winners of the AFC.
East Baltimore by virtue of its win yesterday, now has
(03:44):
a game edge on Pittsburgh and they need Baltimore. Pittsburgh
holds the tie break on Baltimore, but they would need
to win next week and have Baltimore lose in order
to win the division. Otherwise, Pittsburgh's gonna have to settle
for a wild card. The Texans have clinched their division,
even though it didn't look good for them yesterday. They
have wrapped up the AFC South. Now in the NFC,
(04:09):
these teams have already clinched the playoff spots Lions, Eagles, Vikings,
and Packers. Four of the seven spots have already been
wrapped up, but only the Eagles have clinched a division.
The Lions and Vikings are tied for first, and the
Packers are team aams back at that. Green Bay is
not going to catch those two, but they're going to
(04:30):
get in as a wildcard. Now here's what else is
the situation. The Rams are nine and six and Seattle
is eight and seven. But the only way that the
Rams or the Seahawks are getting in the playoffs is
to win the NFC West. Are not getting in as
a wildcard, not gonna have enough wins. So the Rams
play the Cardinals Saturday, night. That's the third game of
(04:52):
the triple header on NFL Network. If the Rams win
and the Sea who play the Bears tonight, by the way,
that's Thursday night game. If the Seahawks lose to the
Bears tonight and then the Rams win, the Rams clinched
the division. Or and this gets a little more convoluted
(05:14):
if they win, and then if they wind up clinching
the strength of victory tiebreaker against over Seattle, which they
still have a decent shot to do. But the Rams
are in controller undestiny. If they win, there's a good
chance they're going to win the West no matter what
they do against Seattle. But they have both of their
final games at home. Now, the Eagles i mentioned are
(05:35):
twelve and three, and they play the Cowboys Sunday. That's
your early game on Fox. If they win, they clinch
the East. Or and I said earlier they won the division.
They haven't quite wrapped it up, but they're really close
if they beat the Cowboys. So you think they're close enough,
they are, right the matter of fact that they're playing
the Cowboys on Sunday in Philly. Yeah, yeah, So if
(05:56):
they win, they clinch or and this is an interesting game.
It flexed for Sunday Night Commanders Falcons at Sunday Night,
and that is in Washington, so they can get in
either way. The Falcons can clinch the NFC South with
(06:16):
a win over Washington and a Tampa Bay loss to Carolina.
I don't know that either of those things are going
to happen. I don't know the Falcons are gonna win,
but I certainly don't expect Tampa Bay to lose again
to lose to Carolina. The Commanders, who are ten and five,
can clinch a playoff spot with a win or a
(06:39):
Tampa Bay loss, and I think I think the Commander
is going to beat the Falcons, and I think they're
gonna wind up winning getting into the playoffs as WILDCRD.
I don't think they're going to catch Philadelphia, but because
I don't see, I don't see the Eagles losing both
of their last two games and dropping into that flat
footed tie with Washington, which would give the Commanders the East.
How unlikely and crazy conceivable would that be for the
(07:02):
Washington Commanders to win the NFC East.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Well, especially with the breaking news right now that Cedie
Lamb has been shut down for the rest of the season.
Find it hard to believe that the Cowboys can muster
enough offense to fill the void of Lamb's production and
pull off an upset against Philadelphia. But I don't think
Chillen hurts practice today, so it might be can you
pick it? And if if he can't go, I think
(07:25):
their their third stringers. Tanner McKee, Yeah, so who knows?
You know, White people with NFL hope for him, Tanner
McKee first Cooper rush with no Ceedee Lamb involved and
Zekiel la getting one yard scared one yard carries, so
who knows? Who knows? Greg It could be an interesting weekend.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
How about Zeke scoring a touchdown last week?
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yeah, I didn't know he was still on the football team.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Linda said something very similar, pointing. I said, look, Zeke,
She said, I forgot about him, That's what she said.
I forgot about him, said, yeah, most of the rest
of the NFL. I think McCarthy forgot about him. And
then he low and beholdes there a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
All right.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Now to the convoluted state that is the NFC North,
which involves Lions, Vikings, and Packers. So the Lions play
at the forty nine Ers on Monday Night, they get
the number one seed and home field advantage if they
(08:24):
win in Minnesota loses to green Bay, that's what would
happen if that happens. But I don't I don't know
that Minnesota loses to green Bay. I think it's going
to come down to Lions Vikings. I think that's going
to be your Sunday night Flex game. That's gonna be
the final game of the regular season. I'm almost certain
that's what's going to happen there. And as a result
(08:44):
of that, the Packers are probably going to fall into
the sixth seed, a dangerous number six seed. If the
regular season ended today, these would be the playoff matchups.
You would have Kansas City getting a buys them one seed,
the two seed Buffalo at home against Denver, the seven,
the three seed would be Baltimore against the Chargers. The
(09:11):
four seed would be the Texans at home against the Steelers.
And that would be and the Chiefs get the wild
card round by In the NFC, it would be how
about this, this would be your first round matchup, two
seed Philadelphia without a bye, playing Washington again who just
beat them, So be Washington Philadelphia. You'd have the six seed,
(09:34):
the Packers at the three seed, the Rams. Packers already
beaten the Rams in LA this year. The five seed,
the Vikings play at the four seed, the Falcons and
the Lions would get the buy. So that's that's where
it would stand right now. So it's a little bit
(09:55):
unsettled for the moment, but we'll see how this all
plays out during the course of the weekend, starting tonight
with Seahawks and Bears, and there's a Bowl game tonight.
We'll talk about all that and more coming up here
on sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone and the
Irradio app.
