they need and everything else. We'vesaid this at the Rapi Game too,
especially me that the Sixers feel likethe series should be either even or to

to prove it. That is yetto be proven in this series. So
I know the focus is on Phillykeeping their season alive, but the fact

not gonna show up tonight. Thereis nothing in my mind that thinks the
Knicks don't have the fight, theeffort, that know it all to show
up even when they know, hey, we're perceived as an underdone. The
fight of the Knicks has never beenquestioned this season. If they win tonight,

would have to happen for them tocompletely crumble and not win this thing.

feel like they've got that motivation,that drive, that that TIBs has got
them all just so fired up tofinish this thing that you It's got to
be at least another series like youknow this not only locks in this one.
I think you lock in another onethat win tonight, because this is

trying to you know, and TyreseMaxey doing everything they can to embarrass you.
I really do feel as though ifyou get this one, you're you're
into something special. This is thekind of team that all of a sudden
you can really rally behind and expectthem to carry on even farther, because

I've been told that there aren't anystupid questions at places of work. People

preparing myself to make me seem likethis might be a stupid question. Is
it just as important tonight for JalenBrunton to play well and have a good
game as it is for the Knicksto win? And maybe the setup to

that seems like I'm already conceding thatI think the Sixers will win tonight.
But first of all, is thata dumb question? Second of all,
what do you make of that?Is there any types of sense that can
be made from that? I thinkbecause if you were looking at how the
Knicks got here, how they wonfifty games and all that it was,
it was greatly due to Jalen Brunson. And right now you've won two games,

to go out and you know,kind of out physical. I mean,
they're beating him up. If we'rebeing perpectly honest, seventy six ers are
playing extremely aggressive and they are beatingup on our guy. And I'm for
that reason, I'm with you.I would love to see him go out
there while Tyree's max, He's tryingto get five fouls on, when Lowry's

getting moving over again, everybody's hittinghim, everybody's after him. Just have
him go out there and hang thirtyfive on him. How the Knicks put
this thing away by ten points tobe done with it. But he has
not been Jalen Brunson yet. They'vebeen that physicality has been working. So
to your point, yeah, ifI can see Jalen Brunson go out there
and be Jalen Brunson, that's gonnamake me feel great about the rest of
the postseason. But if he isJalen Brunson in a loss, what does

that do to you? Because it'slike, well, wait, Superman's here,
but the Justice League still lost.I don't know how I feel about
that. I think we just thew is the most important, but a
nice night from Brunson on top ofthat would be a chef's kiss the best
way for tonight to go. I'mleaning towards that same way, and it's
because I have examples of about eightytwo games this season roughly around there of
Jalen Brunson, mean, one ofthe top five most valuable players in the

NBA and incredibly valuable obviously for theKnicks. So I'm just gonna ignore the
seventy five eighty games that Brunson playedover the course of the regular season and
be like, you know, Idon't know if he said a good anymore
because he had two inefficient games,not even bad, not awful, just
not as good as before, andjust think he can't do it in Game
three. So yes, the answerfor obviously he's winning the game. That's

the most important Brunson can be averagein the Knicks win. And it sounds
cliche and coaches love this stuff andplayers love to say it in the postgame
press conferences, but it is onehundred percent absolutely true. I think it
was with Shack I believe who saidit on the Turner coverage. You said
stats don't matter in the postseason.They don't like, you're not going for
a scoring title, You're not sittingcareer marks. Stats don't matter in the

postseason. What matters is wins inlosses. That's it. That's all anybody
will remember. It's hard for fansto remember how much somebody dropped in an
NBA finals or a conference finals andall those other things. It's about the
end result and how far you wereable to take your team. Is it
important for Brunson to have an improvedgame? I'll go with sure. Can

the Knicks win with Brunson being ina few in the series? I've got
two examples of it. I've gottwo, So yeah, it's important,
obviously, But it's not the endof the world if Brunton is below average
the entire series and the Knicks getout in seven games or six games with
a series victory. The only theonly thing that I do worry about.
And you know, we talked aboutit a little bit earlier. We've been

over like the Heat being able tojust just be so physical that the Heat
culture that even they take Boston out, there's got to be a point that
even though Jalen bruns is a littlesmaller, that when it's absolutely one percent
needed, even if a team isgonna put a bigger point guard on him,
is going to be very physical withhim. He is able to do

with Jalen Brunson night, you know, thirty plus points, keep everybody in
the game because this series with abanged up Joel Embiid. Sure, okay,
but when you get to Boston,if you get to Boston, if
you find you're winning to the NBAFinals, you're not winning it unless you
have a full blown top notch AenBronson. Yes, and that's it.

That's exactly how you make that nextstep is a franchise and step up and
make that a true competitor to Boston. And by the way, Boston losing
it, I'm still not over that. I gotta do this one more time.
The fact that the Celtics were onlydown by one possession and halftime in
Miami was eleven of twenty three fromthree. You would think if you were

a Heat fan, you would havebeen discouraged, like, we just hit
eleven threes in the first half,shot fifty percent, and we're barely beating
Boston. Out Look, the Heatcame away with the victory, but they
needed to set a franchise record fromour threes. Even Celtic fan would be
like, Hey, the way you'regonna lose to the Heat is they're gonna
hit twenty three three pointers in thegame in one game. Okay, you

know, sure, sure they will, all right, buddy, all right,
So look the Heat. They're wellcoached, they're a good roster.
They beat Boston. If I'm aCeltic fan, I know you got uh
Trevon Shorts out there, Nick Keg, I know you got some Boston fan.
I would I have zero concern aboutthe Celtics losing that game to the
Heat. Knicks fan, it wouldbe fun to do that today. I'd
love to have that. No,zero concerned about the Celtics losing. If

anything, it's about Philadelphia potentially leaningmore towards Embiid Tonight in after two games.
I still can't tell you if thisis the nbad that should be back
or the MVP caliber Embiid. Iwouldn't be shocked a like Embiid took a
foul in the first and then satfor a majority of the first half,
because we don't know what type ofphysical beast Embiid is no longer. Again,

You're like, he's way more hurtthan he's letting on, right or is
he less hurt and he's being dramatic. It's at times you wonder about the

Joel Embiid game time decision. Which, hey, listen, I'll tell you

physical against Joel Embiid, then Idon't think it matters how hurt they are,

Take us back to how you firstbecame affiliated with the Albany Patroons.
Well, you know, I wentfrom the NBA, had three years in
the NBA, and then eventually,of course, I ended up in the
CBA Billings, Montana, and uhstayed there for about a year, and

then Phil Jackson traded for me tothe Albany Patroons. So like it was
like a homecoming. You know,I'm going from Montana with tumbleweeds and mountains,
you know, back to at leasttwo hours away from my from my
hometown at mont Vern in New York. And and and Phil and I hooked
back up because he was my assistantcoach when I got drafted by the new

Jersey Nets at that time. Whatis it like playing for Phil? Because
I mean that's the guy that weall hear about. He's got the picture
with the rings and all that.What was like playing for him? Phil's
a player's coach. He kept it, he kept it straight. You know
when guys complained, you know,you're not in the NBA, right,
so everything is not first class,right and and so. But but the

fans that are coming to the game, they believe that getting a first class
product. You know, they're seeingprofessional ballplayers. And when you're traveling,
you know, traveling on professionally,traveling in a van, you know,
ten other guys, twelve other guys, and you know with Phil Jackson doing
crossroad puzzles and Charlie Rosen, youknow, listen to the Grateful Dead,

and you know, you get tothe arena and you just played three four
road games and you get home.Phil says, hey, the fans was
on the road with you, right, you know, they don't know you
played three or four games. Theyjust come to see the whole game.
This is your job, this isyour business. You need to be productive.

And that's just the way it was. Love that it's this rare circle
where you're able to play with PhilJackson. Under Phil Jackson and then under
George Carl. Compare those two stylesof coaching some of the marking names of
the Patroon's past. I think thatwhen I think of George Carl, who
was a great coach, great greatexit, so forth and so on,

and he was a different kind ofplayers coach. I mean he got really
really connected to his players, almostto an default. Whereas when you needed
to kind of scream on them oryou needed for them, you needed to
say, it's playoff time now,and you know three or four of you

guys ain't gonna play, right,these seven guys are gonna play. He
could. I think that was oneof his weaknesses. He got too close
to the players. And that wasin the CBA, and I'm sure by
time he got to the NBA,I'm sure that all changed. But in
the CBA, that was one ofthe weaknesses. It's getting too close to
players where you can't now discipline them. Whereas Phil was like, hey,

he was close. We were afamily, but we knew our job.
We knew that this was a job. We knew we had responsibilities, and
for all of us, we allwere trying to get back get to the
NBA and some of us getting backto the NBA, and we knew that

out there that I wanted to playin front of them, and they wanted
to see me play, right,and especially at home, and in a
way, man, I wanted toshow the fans that I could compete and
that I could win even on theroad. These guys are making so much
money, right, and now youhave an opportunity, man to have shit.

With all that money, you couldhave chefs, You could keep your
body right. Look at Lebron James. He spends a million dollars a year
on his body. I mean ifyou give him one, if you given
three point five million, man,you could take one hundred thousand, two
hundred thousand, and you could makesure you get the proper rest. You
can get a sleep one of themsleep beds or something, and make sure
that you get ready for the gameright. And you know, little little

tic tac, little knick knack injuries, man sometimes like you chip a nail.
Come on, man, you gottaplay man. You know, if
it ain't wain't broke, you know, get out there. You know,
if the knee, you didn't tearsomething in the knee and after a few
days spring, get out there andplay man. Because people want to see
you play and you get paid toplay. I'm glad you have that attitude

like that because you are some ofthose athletes that I wonder like if you
had some of these things that theyhave, how much further could your game
have picked? Gressed and gone?Because look, you pull up some highlights
of you dunkin. I got questionsabout the hops because those are ridiculous hops
that you had. When was thefirst time you threw down? And how
hot did your vertical actually get theprime of your career? But you know,

some say it was forty some sayit was forty two, right,
and you know, and yeah,I just like jumping. That was one
of the things I was always fascinatedby. Some of my came up in
the right time when Doctor J cameon the scene and the whole dunk came
into play, right, Doctor J. George Gervin. I mean I can

go back as far as jumping JohnnyGreen who broke the backboard with the watch
the bullets back in the day.You know, I just something about jumping.
I just liked I like, Ilike jumping. So my first dunk,
I think I was in the actuallyin the seventh grade, right,
And you know, the big thingback in the day, when you're in
elementary and the school or middle schoolsomething like that, the big thing was

if you could slap the backboarding onsomebody, because you know, you couldn't
dunk in a game, right,there was no dunk in allow Even when
I was in high school. Youknow, you couldn't dunk in high school.
I only had one dunk and Igot a technical file at the end
of my career, you know.And then I went to college and then
there was dunking. They was throwingout the utes. I was dunking on
people. I mean it was justit was a free fall after that.

But I wish I had it inhigh school and U but my first dunk
was seventh grade. You know,man, I surprised myself on that one,
that that is some serious house.So no, you're dunking when you're
around twelve or thirteen years old,that's pretty impressive. I don't know what's
actually more impressive though, the dunkingwhen you're in middle school or Mount Vernon's

high school alumni list for those whodon't know, from the Capitol region,
I mean, we have you,but we've got like Dick Clark, I
thinks from there, Ken Singletons fromthere, Denzel Washington, I think some
Mount Vernon red Like Mount Vernon's gota rich history and you're a part of

since my sophomore year in high school. And that was only for one game

that I didn't start, you know, so you know, I always started,
But then this case, I wasgetting a little older, didn't know.
I knew I still had it,but with Bill mussel was a different
character character, and you know,I ended up finding myself sitting behind which
I believe I was a starter,but sitting behind Sidney Lowe and Scott Brooks.
And I thought that at that timethere was really no more to learn

in my mind, and that wasI was totally wrong. There was a
lot more to learn, and andBill Musselman taught me a lot that season
about who who I was and whoI had become. Sidney low and Scott
