(00:00):
It's love Akin Guz on the voiceof the Capitol Regions Sports Fan Fox Sports
ninety five, nine and nine eight, Tonight is man, this is this
is the next Guys. I gottadon't how do I put this and that
sound hackey because it's it's right there. I need to stop. Sometimes when
you say tonight's the night, itscares me. I've told you that before

(00:23):
that when you say that. Oneof my favorite television shows of all time
opens the series with the main charactersaying tonight's the night, and he guesses
one show that is the House ofCars. No, no, no.
If you if you're a fan ofthis show, you know the series starts
with the first quote being tonight's thenight, and it cuts the character being

(00:44):
in the back seat of a carkilling somebody. That'd be Dexter. I'm
almost positive. I'm almost I'm like, very very positive. Season one,
episode one of Dexter. The wholeshow opens with him saying tonight's the night
and he's sitting in the back seatof the car. So when I sometimes
when I can see you, especiallyand all of a sudden you're like,
tonight's the night. Ah, whereis it? Listen? All right,

(01:07):
I'll I can roll with that becausethe dark passenger for the Knicks, my
friend, is over confidence right nowand the you know, the one that
could have gotten with the ice truckkiller of this whole show. Seventy six
ers trying to get all pumped upand keep this thing moving, you know,
and potentially, you know, surprise, anything can happen. Well done,

(01:32):
the back very good. If you'renot a Dexter fan, you don't
know what in the world just happenedthere over the last thirty seconds. But
if you are, you're clapping somewhere. I just did it all for all
time. Great first season. Yes, I think there are some things that
uh, the Knicks will look athere in Game three and again they're going
to be viewed as the underdog inthis I don't want to say series anymore,

(01:55):
at least in this game on anational scale, because we'll hear the
classic is it a mom win?Because Philly is a five and a half
point favorite. Even the Sixer fanswho love the squad know they go down
three to zero, it's not gonnahappen for a comeback. So Philly's gonna
be talking about as the favorite forall these games, this is the game
they need and everything else. We'vesaid this at the Rapi Game too,
especially me that the Sixers feel likethe series should be either even or to

(02:21):
nothing in their favorite that they're thebetter team. Well, you could keep
saying you're the better team, you'rebetter, you're better. Eventually you have
to prove it. That is yetto be proven in this series. So
I know the focus is on Phillykeeping their season alive, but the fact
the idea that like Philly has toprove it like also says that New York's

(02:42):
not gonna show up tonight. Thereis nothing in my mind that thinks the
Knicks don't have the fight, theeffort, that know it all to show
up even when they know, hey, we're perceived as an underdone. The
fight of the Knicks has never beenquestioned this season. If they win tonight,
I mean it obviously. I feellike, you know, something biblical
would have to happen for them tocompletely crumble and not win this thing.

(03:06):
But if they win tonight, notonly is this over, You've got to
feel like they've got that motivation, that drive, that that TIBs has got
them all just so fired up tofinish this thing that you It's got to
be at least another series like youknow this not only locks in this one.
I think you lock in another onethat win tonight, because this is

(03:27):
a textbook feeling confident walking to extremelyenergetic arena with you know, Joel Embiid
trying to you know, and TyreseMaxey doing everything they can to embarrass you.
I really do feel as though ifyou get this one, you're you're
into something special. This is thekind of team that all of a sudden
you can really rally behind and expectthem to carry on even farther, because

(03:50):
I just if they're gonna lose agame, Guys, it's this one.
I've been told that there aren't anystupid questions at places of work. People
have told me before there are nostupid questions, And I say that now
preparing myself to make me seem likethis might be a stupid question. Is
it just as important tonight for JalenBrunton to play well and have a good
game as it is for the Knicksto win? And maybe the setup to

(04:13):
that seems like I'm already conceding thatI think the Sixers will win tonight.
But first of all, is thata dumb question? Second of all,
what do you make of that?Is there any types of sense that can
be made from that? I thinkbecause if you were looking at how the
Knicks got here, how they wonfifty games and all that it was,
it was greatly due to Jalen Brunson. And right now you've won two games,

(04:38):
you know, kind of in spiteof him, like they've been able
to go out and you know, kind of out physical. I mean,
they're beating him up. If we'rebeing perpectly honest, seventy six ers are
playing extremely aggressive and they are beatingup on our guy. And I'm for
that reason, I'm with you.I would love to see him go out
there while Tyree's max, He's tryingto get five fouls on, when Lowry's

(05:00):
getting moving over again, everybody's hittinghim, everybody's after him. Just have
him go out there and hang thirtyfive on him. How the Knicks put
this thing away by ten points tobe done with it. But he has
not been Jalen Brunson yet. They'vebeen that physicality has been working. So
to your point, yeah, ifI can see Jalen Brunson go out there
and be Jalen Brunson, that's gonnamake me feel great about the rest of
the postseason. But if he isJalen Brunson in a loss, what does

(05:26):
that do to you? Because it'slike, well, wait, Superman's here,
but the Justice League still lost.I don't know how I feel about
that. I think we just thew is the most important, but a
nice night from Brunson on top ofthat would be a chef's kiss the best
way for tonight to go. I'mleaning towards that same way, and it's
because I have examples of about eightytwo games this season roughly around there of
Jalen Brunson, mean, one ofthe top five most valuable players in the

(05:49):
NBA and incredibly valuable obviously for theKnicks. So I'm just gonna ignore the
seventy five eighty games that Brunson playedover the course of the regular season and
be like, you know, Idon't know if he said a good anymore
because he had two inefficient games, not even bad, not awful, just
not as good as before, andjust think he can't do it in Game
three. So yes, the answerfor obviously he's winning the game. That's

(06:12):
the most important Brunson can be averagein the Knicks win. And it sounds
cliche and coaches love this stuff andplayers love to say it in the postgame
press conferences, but it is onehundred percent absolutely true. I think it
was with Shack I believe who saidit on the Turner coverage. You said
stats don't matter in the postseason. They don't like, you're not going for
a scoring title, You're not sittingcareer marks. Stats don't matter in the

(06:36):
postseason. What matters is wins inlosses. That's it. That's all anybody
will remember. It's hard for fansto remember how much somebody dropped in an
NBA finals or a conference finals andall those other things. It's about the
end result and how far you wereable to take your team. Is it
important for Brunson to have an improvedgame? I'll go with sure. Can

(06:58):
the Knicks win with Brunson being ina few in the series? I've got
two examples of it. I've gottwo, So yeah, it's important,
obviously, But it's not the endof the world if Brunton is below average
the entire series and the Knicks getout in seven games or six games with
a series victory. The only theonly thing that I do worry about.
And you know, we talked aboutit a little bit earlier. We've been

(07:19):
over like the Heat being able tojust just be so physical that the Heat
culture that even they take Boston out, there's got to be a point that
even though Jalen bruns is a littlesmaller, that when it's absolutely one percent
needed, even if a team isgonna put a bigger point guard on him,
is going to be very physical withhim. He is able to do

(07:40):
with Jalen Brunson night, you know, thirty plus points, keep everybody in
the game because this series with abanged up Joel Embiid. Sure, okay,
but when you get to Boston,if you get to Boston, if
you find you're winning to the NBAFinals, you're not winning it unless you
have a full blown top notch AenBronson. Yes, and that's it.

(08:03):
That's exactly how you make that nextstep is a franchise and step up and
make that a true competitor to Boston. And by the way, Boston losing
it, I'm still not over that. I gotta do this one more time.
The fact that the Celtics were onlydown by one possession and halftime in
Miami was eleven of twenty three fromthree. You would think if you were

(08:26):
a Heat fan, you would havebeen discouraged, like, we just hit
eleven threes in the first half, shot fifty percent, and we're barely beating
Boston. Out Look, the Heatcame away with the victory, but they
needed to set a franchise record fromour threes. Even Celtic fan would be
like, Hey, the way you'regonna lose to the Heat is they're gonna
hit twenty three three pointers in thegame in one game. Okay, you

(08:46):
know, sure, sure they will, all right, buddy, all right,
So look the Heat. They're wellcoached, they're a good roster.
They beat Boston. If I'm aCeltic fan, I know you got uh
Trevon Shorts out there, Nick Keg, I know you got some Boston fan.
I would I have zero concern aboutthe Celtics losing that game to the
Heat. Knicks fan, it wouldbe fun to do that today. I'd
love to have that. No,zero concerned about the Celtics losing. If

(09:07):
anything, it's about Philadelphia potentially leaningmore towards Embiid Tonight in after two games.
I still can't tell you if thisis the nbad that should be back
or the MVP caliber Embiid. Iwouldn't be shocked a like Embiid took a
foul in the first and then satfor a majority of the first half,
because we don't know what type ofphysical beast Embiid is no longer. Again,

(09:30):
these are physical visual examples of nbe doing stuff on the court.
You're like, he's way more hurtthan he's letting on, right or is
he less hurt and he's being dramatic. It's at times you wonder about the
safety of the big man, andit's very very much a heavyweight about Like

(09:50):
if you look at Mitchell Robinson,he's a game time decision, Uh,
Joel Embiid game time decision. Which, hey, listen, I'll tell you
what, Philly. I'll make youa deal. You sit your game time
decision, I'll sit in mine.I'll let hard and Stein go out and
do his thing. But this,if Mitchell Robinson go out there and be
physical against Joel Embiid, then Idon't think it matters how hurt they are,

(10:13):
because that is where you could gethurt more. If you're embiid or
at least make you look around andgo, do I really want to do
this? It's tonight the night Iwant to risk this. Maybe I'm gonna
go home and heal up a littlebit. We'll get through this series,
whatever happens, and I'll be readyto go for next year. Because with
Big Mitchell Robinson, Isaiah Hartenstein,og Nobe and everybody else pushing around,
you get hurt real quick when you'rehealthy, not only when you're beat up.

(10:37):
Nicks six ers. Tonight, ourcoverage gets underway. It's seven tip
off set for seven thirty. TheKnicks can go up three on the series,
Billy can climb back in. Nowhere's the Tommy corporate side of me
as getting the home for the Knicks. Here, I've said from the start,
I want a seven game series.I'm not rooting against the knickt tonight,
I want to make sure that's clear. I'm not rooting against the Knicks.

(11:00):
You can't see Levak's space, buthe knows, like, this is
why I did what I did yesterday. These are the things that made me
do what I do. I knowif the series goes longer, the sponsors
are happy. The ratings go up. It's more anyting. What calm,
what do you mean? It's notabout money, It's about winning, buddy.
Come on, man, think aboutthink about the levaking guys boost think

(11:20):
about the the big boost that thatyou get from being a member of this
amazing station Fox Sports Radio ninety five, nine and nine eighty. Think about
how many more sponsors want to bewinners just like them. Look if you
if you're on Fox Sports, you'regood. You get better ever since we
flushed those bums from Fenway. Don'tdon't worry about sponsors. You worry about

(11:43):
w's more games because you win yourseries, not more games in a series.
Let's go. I wish you wouldhave given that rallying cry to our
sales team. Would well, youwould have been like, wow, that
guy is nice. What does hedo here? You know I would I
would have to cry and it wouldhave been a problem. We went about
twelve minutes. We gotta at leastsay his name, Josh Hart. Didn't

(12:05):
forget about you. You have anotherbig game tonight, Josh Hart. All
right, we know Dante DiVincenzo, everybody else, the Philly Villanova. Those
guys have been bigger than Brunson. So far in this series they have been
So there's your recognition. I don'texpect Heart or Devion Cenza to go for
thirty five, and you and Iboth feel like it's still about Brunston to
redeem himself, be more efficient. But there's your love there, and seven

(12:26):
games would still be awesome. Icould see Hard being a factor and quieting
on the crowd early though. Icould see him going out there and doing
some things because he's been you know, you you make a man. I
gotta I gotta give you one onthis one. You make a good point.
He has been the best story rightnow for the Knicks' postseason. And
we just talked about like, yeah, that's great, sure whatever, keep

(12:48):
doing whatever you're doing. We're moreworried about this guy. Uh it is.
It is definitely a little extra Heartwould be a good start to this
game. Shut the crowd up,get this thing going, and have Nick's
uh steal one more. Keep keepjust keep keep on keeping on, and
they get some brooms out. Let'sgo Nix, Let's go Nixt, Let's

(13:11):
go next, all right, Ichanged it would be it would be a
dream for me if the Knicks onetonight. You know, what I'm saying.
Uh, just like just like thegreat doings I'm having thanks to our
friends at the Integrated Sleep Center inBoston. Spot guys. I was up
there this morning because doctor Ear andUh and Lori and Aer season ticket holders
for the Firebirds. So I wentup there. I dropped stuff off,

(13:35):
and as I'm leaving, I hadto do an interview uh with someone,
and I go, oh, youknow, sorry to answer the phone right
away. I'm I was getting mymy mouth he's checked out just because I
was up here, and then went, that's not a gimmick. You really
do use the mouthpiece from doctor fredDreer. I'm like, gimmick. I'll
tell you what. My neighbors know. It's not a gimmick because their windows
don't rattle every time my X rail. It is a complete game changer.

(13:58):
I have one is known as obstructivesleep apnea, which means I stop breathing
while I'm sleeping. I would preferto keep breathing. And if I can
do so with something so simple,it's a mouthpiece, It is made for
me, it fits me. It'sso this was this new one is it's
almost too comfortable. I don't Idon't even know it's there, but it
has been. Keep my our wayopen, stores Ader control sleeping great.

(14:20):
Doctor Fred Dreer is a Diplomat ofdental sleep Medicine, which means he certified
he studied the stuff. He'll havethe best option for you. Give them
a call. Five eighty five, six eight five Doctor Fred Dreer and the
Integrave Sleep Center emboss the spout. It helps me sleep better. They're gonna
help you sleep better too. Don'tsleep on this Patroons legend. We're about

(14:41):
to talk to right here on FoxSports Radio ninety five, nine and nine
eighty. It's love Akin Guz onthe Voice of the Capitol Regions Sports Fan
Fox Sports ninety five, nine andnine eighty. We are thrilled to be
joined by loves More right now.Like I like to usually do, like

(15:01):
you know, a title, butyou've got too many lows, like how
do you when have you ever slept? Professional speaker, Author, Media host
Awards That that a full page long. Coach, I'm just gonna call you
coach more because I feel like Ifeel like you've done so much. Man,
where do you find the time?I mean, it just happened,

(15:22):
you know one thing led to another, from playing to coaching, then eventually,
you know, jumping into the wholecommunity service world, Boys and Girls
club and people ask you to dodifferent things, and people call you to
get involved with different things, soyou just do it if you think you
could help. Let's go way backfor those who don't know he left out

(15:46):
al Any Patroons legend by the way. Let's go way way back. That's
right. Let's go way way backfor those who might not know your story.
Take us back to how you firstbecame affiliated with the Albany Patroons.
Well, you know, I wentfrom the NBA, had three years in
the NBA, and then eventually,of course, I ended up in the
CBA Billings, Montana, and uhstayed there for about a year, and

(16:11):
then Phil Jackson traded for me tothe Albany Patroons. So like it was
like a homecoming. You know,I'm going from Montana with tumbleweeds and mountains,
you know, back to at leasttwo hours away from my from my
hometown at mont Vern in New York. And and and Phil and I hooked
back up because he was my assistantcoach when I got drafted by the new

(16:33):
Jersey Nets at that time. Whatis it like playing for Phil? Because
I mean that's the guy that weall hear about. He's got the picture
with the rings and all that. What was like playing for him? Phil's
a player's coach. He kept it, he kept it straight. You know
when guys complained, you know, you're not in the NBA, right,
so everything is not first class, right and and so. But but the

(16:56):
fans that are coming to the game, they believe that getting a first class
product. You know, they're seeingprofessional ballplayers. And when you're traveling,
you know, traveling on professionally, traveling in a van, you know,
ten other guys, twelve other guys, and you know with Phil Jackson doing
crossroad puzzles and Charlie Rosen, youknow, listen to the Grateful Dead,

(17:21):
and you know, you get tothe arena and you just played three four
road games and you get home.Phil says, hey, the fans was
on the road with you, right, you know, they don't know you
played three or four games. Theyjust come to see the whole game.
This is your job, this isyour business. You need to be productive.

(17:45):
And that's just the way it was. Love that it's this rare circle
where you're able to play with PhilJackson. Under Phil Jackson and then under
George Carl. Compare those two stylesof coaching some of the marking names of
the Patroon's past. I think thatwhen I think of George Carl, who
was a great coach, great greatexit, so forth and so on,

(18:06):
and he was a different kind ofplayers coach. I mean he got really
really connected to his players, almostto an default. Whereas when you needed
to kind of scream on them oryou needed for them, you needed to
say, it's playoff time now,and you know three or four of you

(18:26):
guys ain't gonna play, right, these seven guys are gonna play. He
could. I think that was oneof his weaknesses. He got too close
to the players. And that wasin the CBA, and I'm sure by
time he got to the NBA,I'm sure that all changed. But in
the CBA, that was one ofthe weaknesses. It's getting too close to
players where you can't now discipline them. Whereas Phil was like, hey,

(18:48):
he was close. We were afamily, but we knew our job.
We knew that this was a job. We knew we had responsibilities, and
for all of us, we allwere trying to get back get to the
NBA and some of us getting backto the NBA, and we knew that
Field was a vehicle for that.Love's more joining us right now on Fox

(19:11):
Sports Radio ninety five nine and thennine eighty Loves when you know, I
love what you were saying about,Like, Hey, this crowd didn't see
you playing night before. This didn'tdo this. When you hear terms like
like load management and how these guysare getting extra nights off and stuff like
that, do you want to golike, hey, get off my lawn

(19:32):
and start yelling with these guys orwhat. Well? Yeah, I mean
you know what I was saying. When I got drafted, the minimum salary
was forty thousand, right, andso today a minimum salary be three point
five million, right. I meanI was busting my behind for forty thousand

(19:56):
because I love the game, right, and I knew that there were fans
out there that I wanted to playin front of them, and they wanted
to see me play, right, and especially at home, and in a
way, man, I wanted toshow the fans that I could compete and
that I could win even on theroad. These guys are making so much
money, right, and now youhave an opportunity, man to have shit.

(20:22):
With all that money, you couldhave chefs, You could keep your
body right. Look at Lebron James. He spends a million dollars a year
on his body. I mean ifyou give him one, if you given
three point five million, man,you could take one hundred thousand, two
hundred thousand, and you could makesure you get the proper rest. You
can get a sleep one of themsleep beds or something, and make sure
that you get ready for the gameright. And you know, little little

(20:44):
tic tac, little knick knack injuries, man sometimes like you chip a nail.
Come on, man, you gottaplay man. You know, if
it ain't wain't broke, you know, get out there. You know,
if the knee, you didn't tearsomething in the knee and after a few
days spring, get out there andplay man. Because people want to see
you play and you get paid toplay. I'm glad you have that attitude

(21:07):
like that because you are some ofthose athletes that I wonder like if you
had some of these things that theyhave, how much further could your game
have picked? Gressed and gone?Because look, you pull up some highlights
of you dunkin. I got questionsabout the hops because those are ridiculous hops
that you had. When was thefirst time you threw down? And how
hot did your vertical actually get theprime of your career? But you know,

(21:32):
some say it was forty some sayit was forty two, right,
and you know, and yeah,I just like jumping. That was one
of the things I was always fascinatedby. Some of my came up in
the right time when Doctor J cameon the scene and the whole dunk came
into play, right, Doctor J. George Gervin. I mean I can

(21:56):
go back as far as jumping JohnnyGreen who broke the backboard with the watch
the bullets back in the day.You know, I just something about jumping.
I just liked I like, Ilike jumping. So my first dunk,
I think I was in the actuallyin the seventh grade, right,
And you know, the big thingback in the day, when you're in
elementary and the school or middle schoolsomething like that, the big thing was

(22:18):
if you could slap the backboarding onsomebody, because you know, you couldn't
dunk in a game, right, there was no dunk in allow Even when
I was in high school. Youknow, you couldn't dunk in high school.
I only had one dunk and Igot a technical file at the end
of my career, you know. And then I went to college and then
there was dunking. They was throwingout the utes. I was dunking on
people. I mean it was justit was a free fall after that.

(22:41):
But I wish I had it inhigh school and U but my first dunk
was seventh grade. You know, man, I surprised myself on that one,
that that is some serious house. So no, you're dunking when you're
around twelve or thirteen years old, that's pretty impressive. I don't know what's
actually more impressive though, the dunkingwhen you're in middle school or Mount Vernon's

(23:06):
high school alumni list for those whodon't know, from the Capitol region,
I mean, we have you,but we've got like Dick Clark, I
thinks from there, Ken Singletons fromthere, Denzel Washington, I think some
Mount Vernon red Like Mount Vernon's gota rich history and you're a part of
that. Oh yeah, JB.Smooth from curb your enthusiasm. I mean,

(23:27):
you know, of course, theWilliams Brothers, Gus and Ray Williams,
Rudy Hackett, Earl Tatum, BenGordon, I mean, Kevin Jones,
I mean yeah, you can justheavy D and the boys hate rock,
That's right. Pete Rocket cel smooth, Yeah, Pete Rocket Clove,

(23:48):
all good things, Los Moore Joneshere on the fault lines, Fox Worths
thninty five, nine to nine eighty. Let's talk about the current Almity patroons.
You're gonna be in town this weekend. Take us through the schedule of
how you can people can come outand see you and support the local team
this weekend. Well, I'm goingto be there early, hopefully I'll be
there. I will get there aroundyou know, five thirty or something like
that, five fifteen, and youknow, just kind of hang out,

(24:11):
say hello to people and reminisce, you know, most importantly, you know,
taking all the memories of the past, you know, you know,
in my mind just thinking of thetime with Phil Jackson and coming into the
arena and the buzz and then withBill Bill Musselman, I mean we were

(24:36):
seventy and ten during that season. We had a whole team of NBA players,
man, we won the championship then, and it was an amazing experience
for me. Of course, itwas towards the end of my career,
you know, and it was thefirst time in my career that I actually
since my sophomore year in high school. And that was only for one game

(25:00):
that I didn't start, you know, so you know, I always started,
But then this case, I wasgetting a little older, didn't know.
I knew I still had it,but with Bill mussel was a different
character character, and you know,I ended up finding myself sitting behind which
I believe I was a starter, but sitting behind Sidney Lowe and Scott Brooks.
And I thought that at that timethere was really no more to learn

(25:23):
in my mind, and that wasI was totally wrong. There was a
lot more to learn, and andBill Musselman taught me a lot that season
about who who I was and whoI had become. Sidney low and Scott
Brooks, by the way, someother names of coaches for sure that people
might recognize. Do not forget theAlbany Patroons basketball website Albany Patroons basketball dot

(25:47):
com this Friday seven o'clock tip offset, and don't forget on Sunday the
Patroons are back in action as theytake on the Virginia Valley Vipers at three
o'clock on Sunday. Again Friday night, seven o'clock, they're reading Rebels well
back. It's awesome to have athrowback Patroon's player with us, and I
cannot wait for the weekend for sure, my friend true legend with us right
there and now it's just just onemore sign how great Capitol Reasons Sports has

(26:10):
been continues to be Low's Man.Thank you so much. We appreciate your
time. Man, I gotta smilemy face. Can't wait for the next
game. Very very excited me too, and thank you, thank you so
much to Low's More. That's good. That's a cool moment. Like guys,
that's one of those moments where likethe you know, the history of
the success meets the current success. You know, Phil Jackson, George Carl

(26:33):
all that right there at the Armoryagain with Low's More being in attendance.
I'm spinning in circles after the Low'sMoore interview because first I saw the picture
of him dunking that's getting promoted thisweekend, I knew that vertical had to
be up there. He just kindof nonchalantly said, I don't know forty
inch forty two inch vert could dunkwhen I was in the seventh grade in

(26:53):
the Mountain Vernon alumni. Yeah,so the Mount Vernon alumni every year seems
stronger and stronger, and he knowshe's a part of that crew in Mount
Vernon. Their tradition there again, whether it's entertainment or athletics, I hope
that if you're traveling around or you'rea sports fan in the Capitol region,

(27:14):

(29:07):

Tommy hot takest Oh, Levac,Yes, it is, even though
you're not sitting across from me ondraft day. We know chaos hits,
we know craziness says, we knowstories are shared. We want to turn
it up a notch. I've beentaking some heat calling this draft boring man.
We're not going to close the boringTakes. We want your takes,

(29:29):
your strongest one. We're gonna rememberyears spell burn it up, babe.
Tommy Hot Takes has got some cookingand closed the show. Next here on
Fox Sports ninety five nine, it'sLavac and guys on ninety five nine Fox
Sports Radio, we are live andthe GT Toys too. That's Toys with
a Z. Well, the guysagain is live. I'm in my office

(29:51):
at the MVP Arena and uh,you said you had something you wanted to
you wanted to get into, gofor it. Yeah, me one more
final room. Our NFL Draft coveragehere on ninety five, nine and nine
eighty we had a little sandwich actiongoing. So in about ten to fifteen
minutes, Ish, Cavino and Richare gonna give you some draft coverage.
They'll preview the events and more tobe heard tonight. Then we have New

(30:17):
York Knicks basketball tonight. So Knicksfans, it's Game three we talked about
of the top four four. We'vetalked about it a lot. Today,
our coverage will get underway. It'sseven. Tip off is set for seven
thirty. Once that game goes final, once the coverage is done, once
our coverage steps aside, we willbring you back to NFL Draft coverage.
So a little sandwich of New YorkKnicks and Sixers in between, or go

(30:40):
back and forth, back and forth. So before we get out of the
way for the Knicks and the Sixersand draft coverage and everything else we've talked
about. The big event today,I want one smoking hot take. They
don't call me hot take Tommy onPicks one oh six for nothing these days,
which, by the way, Igot the double roast today on g

(31:00):
Y and on Picks a half anhour of just like a little pig out
there, and that Hawaiian Luau wasgetting roasted. I was alright on g
Why wasn't I? I don't thinkI was that Doug walked in and said
some guy showed up at eight ohsix and kept ripping his co host.
Who is that guy? So maybecould be anyway, I bet you was
good looking that. I want togo first, the Levac. I've got

(31:21):
the hottest of takes here. Okay, I'm gonna list them all for you,
in no particular order. Caleb Williams, Drake May, J. J.
McCarthy, Bone Knicks, Michael Pennix. I don't think I missed anybody,
Pennox, Knicks, May, Williams, Daniels. I think we have

(31:42):
five quarterbacks going in the first round. The projections have seemed like just three.
I'm going five. I'm going fivequarterbacks in a round one. Wow.
Okay, all right, so fivefive quarterbacks the first No. Six
six. Here we go again.Williams and May, Jayden Daniels, JJ

(32:06):
McCarthy, Bicks, Michael Pennox.Six quarterbacks going round one. Huh uh
wow. You know the name thatI keep I just keeps bouncing around my
head. But nobody's saying it's SpencerRadler, Like, what what happened?
Is he? Is he in thedraft? Do we know for a fact
that he's a draftable human being?You know what I'll go, I'll go

(32:29):
anti guys on this one. SpencerRadler is drafted before either Michael Pennick Junior
or Bonix. At least one ofthem is drafted behind Spencer Radler. Gosh,
that would hurt. So I'm suchfans of those two. I think
Rattler's attitude and swag, but youcan't deny the talent that would You know
what we did? We did ourjob right there. Those are two smoking

(32:51):
hot takes off. Nobody else isgiving you that information. You know what,
even though I'm supposed to be hottake, Tommy, I think your
take is better than mine take whenit comes to this surprise at the draft.
Like one of the guys I eyedup who I almost did with this
was Jared Verse with a connection toyou Albany and what he's been able to
do at Florida State. I thoughtfor a second he could sneak his way
into the top ten, and that'show much teams have liked him. But

(33:14):
now it's one of these weird regionalthings that if you look at a lot
of mocks, it seems like it'sthe Dolphins or the Buccaneers because he's from
Florida State formerly U Albany that nowlike a Florida he wants. I think
you and I would have liked that. Potentially if Jared Verse went in the
top ten. I mean, ofcourse I would. I hope he does.
I mean it's still it's still apossible thing. There's only what two

(33:37):
maybe three top notch defensive ends inthis draft. You know, there's some
good guys with those two or threethat'll actually get it done and be project
that high, and he's one ofthe two. So I would imagine he
might still go to the top ten. Having Jared Verse have that moment,
hopefully they flash some U all beinghighlights too, not just Florida State highlights.

(33:57):
To have that happen, quarterbacks aregoing to be talked about. Okay,
I'm gonna I'm gonna throw a numberat you now that we're tossing a
bunch of numbers out here before wesign off on three hours on draft Dale
Levac and guys over under five anda half trades. There was talks that
about two days ago the record todayor for the whole draft, No,
no, no, just today, just today. I believe the record is

(34:21):
nine set in twoenty twenty two.So nine is a huge number with thirty
two teams. So I'm gonna putit a halfway over under five and a
half total drafts finalized by the endof round one. I'm gonna take the
under, but I'm only but I'mnot man. I wouldn't be betting a

(34:42):
lot on this one. This islike a one one Pina Colada bet.
This is not a big bet.I think. Yeah, I think we're
at three to three to four tradesin the first round. I do.
I feel like I feel like whoevermakes that big move to get the quarterback
is going to keep the other guysfrom making that move. Like I think
you'll see, like like let's saythe Giants go all the way up to

(35:02):
three to get drink may Well, then maybe you'll see like the Raiders chase
and go after JJ McCarthy, andthen after that's done, I think it
quiets down quite a bit. Ialways don't like when I have to set
my own line because obviously I setthe line, so it's harder for me
to figure out. It's like it'slike the Celtic Keith thing, like one
and a half felt good until heheat won the other yesterday. I'm gonna

(35:25):
go over. So I'm gonna gosix total trades in round one. And
the reason I'm leaning towards six isbecause I talked myself into this already.
If I think Michael Pennox Junior orBone Knicks are gonna be drafted in the
first round, like you laid outthere, there are gonna be some teams
who have to work their way intothe first round. And really important to

(35:47):
remind people the difference between the secondround quarterback in the first round. Quarterback
is the fifth year on the contractwith a team option, so you can
potentially save your team a lot ofmoney by giving up a few picks in
the future. So because I've alreadytold myself that Nix is gonna go in
the first round, I will goover and a lot of it could be
involved in the New York Jets. The Jets could be the team that moves

(36:09):
a lot, especially when ten rollsaround. Of what could happen. So
all right, we both think there'sgonna be a lot of motion, I
should say we both thinks quarterbacks willstill be the talking point at the end.
We both think trades are gonna happen. But you and I disagree on
how many trades. You like Spencerthe or Rattlers the name to break through.
I'm a rooting for Jared versus weboth are, you know what,

(36:31):
talking this through here at the endof the show. We have a lot
of very similar drafting. So Ihave want more. Okay, all right,
fine, let me give you onemore. Sure. Will there be
more wide receivers or offensive tackles takenthe season? Oh uh, I will

(36:51):
go with tackles. I will gomore offensive tackles taken because it feels like
if you don't get the guy thatyou want, you don't want to compromise
in later rounds. The difference betweenreally good wide receivers after Harrison and Neighbors
seems like it's a little bit closerbetween like three and eight. All offensive
tackle feels like one you can't compromiseon, so I'm gonna go tackles.

(37:15):
But the reason I almost stalled therefor that answer is that not everyone's gonna
agree with that take by November oftwenty four, because we all know fantasy
football players offenses are fun. Mostpeople are gonna think that answer is seven
months from now. Wide receivers andit's really not trick questions. Give me

(37:36):
a tie, same as both IVY. That's what I think. Maybe,
actually, you know what, justto make it fun, I'll go against
you. I'll go wide receiver, just because I think this is probably the
best wide receiver draft I've seen.Geez, I don't know when i've I
don't know the last time I sawthis many guys that I would be like
if my team took them in thefirst round and be freaking thrilled. Whether
it's one to thirty two, yougot playmakers all over the field when it

(38:00):
comes to wide receiver on this one, same to tackle, like if either
one of those positions. But thewide receiver feels super explosive this year,
and with the success recently of rookiewide receivers in the league. It does.
It makes me feel like they're goingto be very in vogue this evening,
if you're on your phone, ifyou're listening to draft coverage, however
you're consuming it tonight. To Lavak'spoint there about wide receivers going so high

(38:23):
and so often, go back tolike the last four drafts, the big
time drafts and top picks for widereceivers first and second round. There's rarely
any misses, like I think there'sI think the number was fifty seven wide
receivers have been taken over the lastfour years as top three rounders, and

(38:45):
you'd only call three misses. AndI can't even think of the three off
the top I had that. Yeah, you gotta go Jalen Ruggs, Henry
Ruggs, Jalen Ragers. Probably theone from Philly. Maybe there's one more,
who is hands of Stone there thatthey took from Maryland. Oh,
I mean it's a little while backnow, but Aglar no, no,

(39:07):
no, what the Raiders took HarrusHerod Bay there you go. Yeah,
and he might be too Yeah,he might be too far back, like
the more recent ones have all basicallyhit. Now that might talk more about
the league itself than anything else, but and wide receivers have found a way
to consistently hit in this new ageof pass pass pass and it is h
Yet, let's see what happens tonight, man, final chance to UH to

(39:31):
predict what your team does tonight.Guys, my pick for the Bucks is
going to be kool Aid. Iwant Jared Verse. I think Jared vers
would be awesome, especially with ShaqBarrett leaving the Bucks and Devin White Versus
is always going to have his handin the ground. I would be thrilled
if we come on Friday and JaredVersus a Tampa Bay buccaneer. I think

(39:52):
it's gonna be mister kool Aid,but Jared Vers would I'd be very happy
about if that happened tonight. Howabout you for your Raiders, man,
I've I've waffled on this one.I think the only way they do an
offensive weapon is if they if there'sa Devontae Adams train, I don't think

(40:12):
that's coming. I'm gonna say thatthe Raids end up with a big o
lineman Talas Juaga, the dude fromOregon State. He's just a mean run
blocker, tough song gun. Ithink he's going to I think he's gonna
be the one that gets in there. NFL Draft twenty twenty four. It

(40:35):
is like no other day at nightagain one more time. Fox Sports ninety
five nine tweet us at Wolf xnine eighty during the draft at the Jeff
Levak at Tom Goss, tomgs easy. We will continue. It is weird
that we're not out on draft day, but a little different vibe for it.
Timing didn't work out well. Wewill be definitely still hopefully talking to

they don't trust. Go to thepeople that you trust. Continue to make
