Dealerships in the country have won thisprestigious award, and they couldn't have done

(00:24):
the back and guzz on ninety fivenine Fox Sports Radio. Oh yeah,
it is a game day. Maybewe are here and the MVP Arena and
the guzz back in the GT ToysStudios Toys with a Z. Oddly enough,
I think like as much as everyone'sprobably excited about Firebirds football, they're
(00:47):
probably just as excited to talk aboutthe NFL draft. Last no, I
uh, guzz, I think thetwo biggest minimum moments for me involved a
draft pick for Atlanta in Los Angeles. How weird? Is that? Very
weird? Very odd? Uh?Let's let's start with Atlanta. I want
(01:08):
you to lead this off because yousuggested these are the two most surprising picks
of the After the Evening. Herewe are in the after your take first
on what those pesky, interesting oddAtlanta Falcons did last night. It doesn't
make sense, Okay, Like Ilike I like Peenix. I think he's
(01:30):
I think he's a very good dude. He's you know, he's he's played
hurt, he's been hurt, butlast two years he's been pretty durable.
But you just gave Kirk Cousins onehundred million guaranteed. It's a four year
deal that you're gonna have to eatyour hat if you try to get out
of two years early, unless it'slike two more years. Right, So
(01:51):
let's say everything goes the way themoney looks. Kirk Cousins is your starter
for two years, which means MichaelPennix Junior is not. You're starting quarterback
until he's what twenty six, twentyseven. You just drafted a twenty seven
year old as your quarterback in twoyears. That doesn't it doesn't compute.
This is one of the most bizarrefirst round picks I can ever remember ever
(02:15):
financially age wise, Look, thereare hundreds and that's not even thousands,
but we'll just say hundreds hundreds ofpicks that haven't worked, or people you
thought would work, or a busor ooh, you know, kiper McShay
had him as a second or thirdround. He went high in the first.
There's ways in which you project prospectsand wonder where they go to have
(02:36):
those numbers be a little bit different. But the fact that it's the quarterback
position. I love Michael Pennix junior. I voted him for the Heisman Trophy,
the number one. He was thebest player in college football last season.
Michael Pennix has torn his acl onhis legs twice, two of them.
Chalk it up shoulder surgery for MichaelPennick. Old Michael Pennick everything you
(03:01):
could check off, like ooh concerningooh, concerning still he goes at number
eight. You talked about Kirk Cousins. There the only two comparisons I can
even think about of a quarterback beingin a spot where they had an established
quarterback already there that it didn't makesense are two in recent times. One
(03:21):
is Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers andthe other one is Patrick Mahomes and Alex
Smith. But this is in Apple'soranges and lemons comparison, all three very
different situations. We'll pause on theCousins one because we'll get to that in
a second. But the Love andRogers thing, now, as we sit
here in April twenty twenty four,we might say, you know what,
(03:43):
that worked out well for the Packers. Jordan Love seems to be a pretty
good quarterback. He was second intouchdown passes last season for Green Bay.
There are a few plays away frombeating the Niners. It worked out well
for green Bay. Hang on,just because the end result is where you
wanted it. Remember what happened afterJordan Love was drafted by the Packers.
Aaron Rodgers went on to win twoMVPs back to back, and under the
(04:05):
rookie contract you had Love on.He played one game under that contract,
so didn't really necessarily work for thePackers. That spot h Mahomes and Alex
Smith, Levac, You and Iremember this. People are going nuts,
like, why would the Chiefs wantto get rid of Alex Smith. He's
been a solid quarterback at the Ninersof the Super Bowl. Yeah, but
he was coming into the tail endof his career at that point. That
(04:28):
was about the end all be allfor Alex Smith and Mahomes is gonna talking
about as one of the great quarterbacksof all time, then gave one hundred
million dollars guaranteed to a quarterback thatthey thought would be the future. And
there's no way they can try tocover their butts today and say, well,
we're thinking about the future. Okay, are you win now with one
hundred million dollar quarterback or you inthe future. You can't have both.
Like a first rounder is supposed tobe a contributor for week one, Day
(04:51):
one, when's he getting on thefield when it is one of the most
bizarre draft picks I can ever rememberfrom a franchise back who over the course
with the same GM. This guydrafted Cale Pits over Jamar Chase, Micah
Parsons, Jalen waddle Bot Smith draftedDrake London over Garrett Wilson and Kyle Hamilton,
(05:15):
and drafted a running back over JalenCarter, the same guy, the
same guy. It'd be, dude, It definitely it was. It was
one of those ones where as itagain, if you were rooting for a
team that you were hoping to geta quarterback a little later, right,
just a little later, maybe latein the first maybe in the second round.
(05:39):
Michael Pennix Junior and Bownicks were yourdream That was the dreams they would
get to the second round or latefirst and then when when there's this incredible
run on quarterbacks, you're like, okay, it's well, we're okay because
it's the guys that we knew weregonna go. Everything's happening, chalk,
it's fine, there's nothing to worryabout here. And then Atlanta just goes
(06:00):
crazy. They just go crazy anddo this. I just it was a
full rogue move. For me.I appreciated it. After I got unscratched
my head, I was like, all right, now we got a draft.
Now it's exciting, and now I'min I want to see what happens
next. And so I'm with you. One of the biggest head scratchers of
all time. Makes you wonder what'sgoing on with Kirk Cousins. There we'll
(06:23):
see there it goes. And Igotta be honest with you guys. Before
I even get to the other onethat I've already mentioned, bone Nicks to
Denver, that's an intriguing quarterback roomthat just got a little bit more intriguing
but again, the two guys youthought might make in the second round end
up going eight and twelve. Yeah, the bon Knicks and Pennix and also
(06:43):
the Giants are all connected here. But one other thing to add about the
Falcons and Pennox Junior. You andI were having some fun about the Patriots,
about Robert Kraft and the theory youhad about New England about Robert Craft
basically talking Atlanta out of taking BillBelichick. Is Atlanta just like really bad
at poke? Like would you wantto play against this Terry Fontinette guy at
poker? Like, don't know,We're gonna take your Okay, Belichick's probably
(07:05):
sitting there today with a cigar.Could have done it with McAfee yesterday and
been like, huh, you guysdidn't need me. Huh, okay.
You know who they are. Youknow who they are. They're the they're
the new to fantasy football who thesecond somebody drafts a quarterback, they go
run there. I gotta get mine, I gotta get mine. There's not
a lot of them. I meanthere's there's only there's only twelve people who
(07:27):
have arms in the world. Like, so they just they they freaked in.
They rush there's a lot of fantasyfootball comparisons for the Falcons today of
are they just the guy in theroom who wants an ooh and ah after
his pick? Do they know overthe last four rounds in the first round
they did tight end, wide receiver, running back, quarterback. Are they
going kicker defense in twenty twenty fiveto fill out their roster? Uh?
Back to the Denver thing though, because I said on yesterday show and I
(07:49):
believe this, and I'm watching andplay at Organ, I texted our our
friend Jake and our sales team who'sa big Organ Duck football fan, about
how much I like Bonix. Iwas talking to our guy Mark in here
shout out to him as well.Averon's a Bonnicks fan. I liked Bonix.
He looks a lot physically like ZachWilson, which is also weird.
Here's the issue I had with theBonnicks stuff from last night. As good
as a player I think he is, it is hard for me to believe
(08:15):
that the Denver Broncos had been eyeingBonnicks this whole time. It could be
true, it could truly be theanswer from Sean Payton, but never in
my lifetime and probably you listening rightnow, it's never happened in your lifetime
either, that a NFL team withthe twelfth overall pick in the NFL Draft
took what was then the sixth bestplayer at that position according to the picks,
(08:43):
the sixth best quarterback off the board, and they said, that's the
guy we wanted. I don't careif it's offensive tackle. I don't care
if it's tight end, I don'tcare if it's linebacker. If you're sitting
at twelve and there's twenty four positionsin the NFL, including kicker and punter,
and you got the sixth best attwelve and you said that's the guy
(09:03):
you wanted. That's hard for meto believe it could be true. Maybe
you had him at three, maybeyou had him at four, two.
I don't know where the Bronco bigboard was, but it's hard for me
to wrap my head around the ideathat Sean Payton now was a genius because
he sat at twelve and got thesixth best quarterback off the board, and
that's who they are, you knowwhat I mean? The BacT like that
(09:24):
doesn't make bo Nick's a worst player. I've just never seen that happen before
where a team needed a quarterback, they got the sixth to one and they
feel like they won the draft.Yeah, it's again the quarterbacks crazy.
It was one of those It's oneof those drafts where you see the chalk
(09:48):
and it's still exciting. Then yousee the crazy and it it makes sense
on a weird crazy level. Andnow you know who won the draft.
I mean, I'll tell you whatI tell you. If you're part of
the Purple fan, you probably thinkthe Rams won the draft because Jared Verse?
Man, what up? Would thatdude like? He looks awesome?
Your text last night that he winsthe highlight reel of award. I'm with
(10:11):
you on that one. Oh mygoodness. Who is the production assistant who
cut the Jared Verse highlights? Ifyou DVRD the draft last night, if
you can find the video he hastaken dudes in throwing them the Syracuse game,
I believe the cut they showed wasa second round pick for Atlanta.
Sorry Atlanta Falcon fan, we're reallypiling on. But these are like Reggie
(10:33):
White like plays. They're shown wherehe has taken guys bull rushing the speed
bulls with the coaches like to callthat at times where he's just piling guys
over, like running over grown men. The Rams hadn't had a pick in
what eight years, and they're havinga big old suite. They bought California.
They're partying VERSU is gonna have afantastic career. Awesome seeing the U
(10:54):
all but he shotuts during the broadcast, a few people were undermining the Great
Danes. All right, let's changedthat a little bit on the national scale.
You already got to the final four. Let's not constantly undercut him.
They were a really good program. They got Jared Verse and it was a
really cool thing. Where's our guykenn Latham. He's the biggest RAM fan
we know, We hope our guyKennon Latham is celebrating today, is the
(11:16):
biggest RAM fan that we know. With that pick from Jared Verse and Ken,
you can run through those highlights allday long. Get you excited for
your Rams upcoming this fall. Well, also think think about we have that
really kind of odd yet special connection. Right so Jared Verse, obviously you
Albany we know him from that. His coach Greg Gatuso, the guy who
(11:37):
is a All World Hall of Fameonce in a lifetime defensive tackle for the
Rams who just just hung up thecleats. He discovered by and coached by
Gregatuzso it's amazing. Maybe Coach Katwos, now, don't say that too loud,
because all of a sudden, ifthe Rams keep hearing all the connections,
coach Catuso is fine and be like, wait, where is he?
(12:00):
Okay, maybe it's time for himto come out to the West Coast.
If you're evaluating talent like this forour franchises right now, maybe we need
you out here on the left coastto help us out. So so cool
to see that connection to Jared Verse. It felt like he was gonna get
to my Buccaneers. It felt likehe was gonna get to the Dolphins.
I know they got Chop Robinson, but they the Rams wanted him really bad
and they made the move and theytook him, and everybody seems thrilled about
(12:22):
the pick. Absolutely, And Ithink the Rams are always gonna be one
of those teams like you you thinkthe cupboard's bear, but it's not.
You think that they're They just they'regonna be able to out coach you.
Like that's where they are, Likea guy like Pooka Nakua could go out
there and light you up. JaredVerse on defense, Who knows what the
(12:43):
what could happen for that guy.Lots of lots and lots of fun to
be to be had in this wholesituation. But all in all, first
round of the draft, I lovedit. What did you think? Historic?
Historic is the word I'll use aboutthe first round we're going into it.
I've been saying, I don't know, like we always get these hypes,
never really lives up to the hype. The reporters and the TV and
(13:05):
radio. They just want to makesure everybody's watching. That was about as
much fun as soon as the Falconsgot on and took Pennix as that can
remember it a long time. Itwas chalk all the way up till Atlanta.
Then Atlanta makes one of the mostoutrageous picks ever. Then I was
like, what's gonna happen? Now, what's gonna happen? It was true
drama, historic, A lot ofpressure on these guys. Six first round
quarterbacks were viewed to be the futureof those franchises. But that was about
(13:28):
just as much fun as you canhave for a first round of the NFL
Draft. If you are not aNew York sports in New York sports fans,
Jets, Giants, Bills, wehaven't forgot about you. Trust us.
We will be talking about those NewYork franchises for sure throughout the show
today. Absolutely. I mean it'sand again, each each one's got a
story, each one did a thing, each one, each one. You
(13:50):
know, I can see where, actually literally, guys, if you look
at my phone, you'll see where. I've had a Giants fan friend who
was like, this the greatest momentever, one who's like, what the
hell are we doing? Same withthe Jets and same with the Bills.
So I'm ready to dive into thata little bit more. Actually, I
think let's do the Giants next,if that's all right with you, sir.
(14:13):
But first I'll tell you about myfriends at Mohawks Chevrolet together. Let's
drive at Mohawks Chevy Man. Youcan go up there. It's funny.
I was talking to Andy Gelcher todayand one of the things that, like
in big picture, you know whatI mean, Like that, when you
talk to Andy Gelcher, you seethe big picture. And when you when
you realize that, you then realizeone of the major reasons Mohawks Chevrolet is
(14:37):
so great is the big picture. It's a building that was put together to
make you comfortable. There's a walkingtrail, there's Adirondeck chairs that relaxing while
you're eating. Service on your vehicle, the service departments right there. There's
fleet services on the same property. There's there's the ability to get your vehicle
or signs made on the same property. It's it's really really cool when you
(14:58):
think about the big picture, andthat's why they've got one of the biggest
selections in the entire Capital region ofbrand new vehicles from Malibus to Traversus to
Silverado's. If you want to betreated right, you want a great finance
department, a great team in greatvehicles to get you where you need to
go. Together, let's drive atlog Chevy just off X to twelve of
the north Way, where they alwaysgo out of their way to please you.

I'm over here at MVP Arena Godsback of the GT toys too,

(20:44):
draft we mentioned. Jared Verscos isgood to see you. Originally a U
Albity product. Product I should say, I guess. I guess in a
way if I'm not not in ademeaning way at all, project kind of
works. I know it probably soundsthe meaning, but it's not what you
realize. This is a guy whocame in undersized, worked his butt off,
got the attention of Florida State.Guys, what how did he get
(21:07):
the attention of Florida State? Againfrom you all? But I forget what
he did? Yeah, he toreup Syracuse in a blowout game. They
just showed the film. Yeah,Florida State was watching the Syracuse film is
Florida State prep for Florida State Syracuse? And they said, who is this
guy? Who? What? Whatis going on over here with this kid?
From you Albany? How did weget him? Now? The better
(21:29):
question is how did you Albany orhow did you albandies? Then Jared first
getting contact with Florida State? Howdid all of a sudden they watch the
film and end up in the nextyear on the team that I would like
a little bit more details on HM, it's will interesting. What are you
trying to get Florida State in trouble? That's what you're doing. It's too
(21:52):
late now you already left your placefor the Rams now. I would just
like to know clearly he tore upSyracuse, Florida State wanted him and all
of a sudden, he's on theteam next year. So if you're listening,
you text Levakt the real answer.I'll act like it wasn't you,
all right, I want the realanswers. How first ended up with the
Seminoles? Believe there's a process toit, isn't there? Yeah? How
did he get there? Someone lefthim a message, Hey, you're really
good from what Florida State fan won. You're so good you should call the
(22:15):
school. Hmm. Interesting, that'swhat I'm saying. There's a lot wrong
with you. You're just you're justmad because he didn't go to Syracuse,
which is good because then he youknow, actually was he was good.
It's important to it's Forrtant to rememberthat he had it. He's a first
round draft pick. How many Syracusefirst round draft picks were there yesterday?
(22:36):
Yesterday? I don't remember any.It might have been something wrong with my
television though. Yeah, that happens, it does. I mean sometimes he
just blocks out a certain schools. It's crazy how that happens. As a
matter of fact. All right,So let's talk about the Let's talk about
the g men, the Giants. It was it's almost let me let me
see this guys. I feel likeit was a no brainer pick that we
all overthought. Like it's one ofthose situations where you know you have Daniel
(23:00):
Jones for at least one more year. The way the contract is built,
he's your dude. He's about fortyseven million dollars this year. The Mayra
family historically will we'll just take careof these guys and keep them around.
And you could have went and triedto replace him, but it may have
caused agrimony and you wouldn't have gotone of these great wide receivers like you
(23:23):
did. But I think we allkind of overthought it because again, the
story this year's draft was quarterback. They end up with the league neighbors out
of LSU. I really like thepick. I know talking heads like Mike
Tannenbaum lost their ever loving minds overat where did you land. The hardest
part about reading the New York Giantsin this year is draft is the local
(23:44):
reports. When we signed off yesterdayfrom like that six to eight o'clock window,
a lot of reports coming down fromthe city was that the Giants were
trying to move. I think theterm was Heaven and Earth was the term
being used down to the city toget a quarterback in the top three.
And this is where it gets bizarrefor me. So, like, Okay,
the Giants have the six pick Jordanronn On, I'll get the reporters
(24:06):
love. Jordan ron On reported thisSouth Pallantonio, who's got connections to Clifton
Park. He reported it. Multiplereporters from different outlets were all saying the
same thing, that the Giants aredoing everything they could from six o'clock until
nine o'clock to move up in thetop three. Why that's confusing to me
is that this order has been setfor months. Like everyone kind of everybody,
(24:27):
whether you're forty five years old orfifteen, we all kind of knew
it was gonna go Caleb Williams,Jaden Daniels, Drake May. Yeah,
there were some flags that were thrownup. They're like, maybe Washington is
not gonna take him, maybe NewEngland's gonna trade back. There were some
questions, but if we had toput it pen to paper, we probably
would have predicted this. And Iget confused by that because it's like,
(24:49):
so the Giants wanted to be publiclyknown that they wanted a quarterback. Why
because they just want to play tothe fan base. They don't like Daniel
Jones. They want a quarterback badly. But all those other teams out of
we all knew needed a quarterback. So I'm like, that doesn't make sense.
So say, okay, you badlyneed a quarterback, like you just
said la back like tannem BOM's gonuts about the pick. So you hate
(25:11):
you're at six. You're telling meyou can't stand Michael Pennix, Junior,
JJ McCarthy or bone Nicks. Soyou needed a quarterback so desperately that you
let the teams behind you draft thoseguys. So you only wanted Drake may
or Daniels or Kayly. And yousee where I'm getting confused by this,
(25:33):
Like everyone's telling me you're moving havingon Earth to get a quarterback because you
need a quarterback, and you havea quarterback there that three teams behind you
took. Something's not adding up here. Do I think the Lak Neighbors could
be a nice player for the Giants? Yeah? So I think he could
be Odell Beckham level numbers and earliestprobably not. Those are historic numbers,
and Daniel Jones is still the guy. I've never been a Daniel Jones fan
(25:53):
from the moment he was drafted. But this idea that like the Giants wanted
another quarterback and then they didn't whilethey were quarter Rex there is hard for
me to understand. Maybe someone needsto explain it to me, like I'm
a toddler, because I don't gethow you can tell me you want something
and then all of a sudden justnot want it. Maybe that's how toddlers
work. I want to waffle Dad, and then he throws it on the
ground after one bite. I think, I think you're I think you're missing
(26:18):
something though, And and you know, did they were moving heaven and Earth
to get a quarterback? No?No, no, that they were moving
heaven and Earth to get the quarterbackthey wanted, which was Drake May.
I think they from the sounds ofthings, even JJ McCarthy thought he was
the dude like he he talked abouthow much the Giants talked to him.
It's almost like they tried to convincethemselves they liked him, like you know
(26:40):
you're going that, you're going,I go one more dage. She's all
right, that's good, she's verypretty. It has a nice job.
Well, she has no personality.Or she's mean like whatever, but you
just you try to make yourself likethem because of the availability, because they're
there, and you just don't.So now it gets to the point where
six happens. You've already seen, you know, the three the quarterbacks that
(27:02):
you actually wanted, they're gone.So and don't forget too. The giants
ran up there. They ran upthere with Elik Neighbors speed to pick Milak
Neighbors. So I think it waswe really want Drake may We we flirted
with, we wented a couple ofdates with JJ mccararthy, but he's just
he's just not the marry and typefor us. Let him go to Minnesota,
(27:22):
let him go wherever else he wants. We got Milik Neighbors. Now
we're gonna go to We're gonna warwith old Danny dimebags and see if we
can get this thing put together. And you know, we like Drew Locke
too, We like both our guys. Now, yeah, that's kind of
gross, you know, going intothis draft, not knowing how this was
gonna shake out in the first roundor what it could be. And they
(27:45):
get six more rounds to go,and most of the freedency you're done.
And look, there's a lot oftime now between April twenty sixth and kickoff
in September. But right now,the Giants watched a lot of teams,
especially in the NFC, who couldhave been considered worse than them or on
the same level as them, passedthem last night. Because if you're a
Minnesota Viking fan, you watched whathappened last night, and you go,
(28:08):
we got a stacked roster. Wegot Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, TJ.
Hopkinson, we got the quarterback thatwe think is an upgrade. Now,
we got a pretty solid team.I can't arguainst that Minnesota's got more
weapons now than the Giants do inthe NFC. And the Vikings only had
one more win than them last season. Another team that had just one more
win than the Giants last season,so right around the same the Bears.
(28:30):
The Bears got an upgrade at quarterbackand an upgrade at wide receiver. The
Commanders, they got their quarterback. The Falcons pass on that one. Actually,
we're not gonna do that one.We think we've ripped them a night.
They got their quarterback. The ArizonaCardinals. We all knew they were
gonna suck. In twenty twenty three, they got Marvin Harrison Junior, a
(28:51):
healthy Kyler Murray, Giant finn.I just went through the teams that were
either the same or worse than you. That team in last season's NFL regular
state season status. I skipped Carolinabecause I think they actually are gonna be
terrible again. So everybody feels likethey're better than you today. A lot
of time to go league, Nahborsis a nice player, but you didn't
get as good as the contenders inyour conference after Night one of the draft?
(29:14):
Do you all right? So I'mgonna make a Brian Dable comparison here.
Do you remember what took Josh Allenfrom erratic run first quarterback to that
dude's an MVP candidate? Do youremember the thing? The event? Are
you talking about? Training camp? You and I covered, But there was
(29:37):
one one big event that happened. It's now been undone that that I thought
I think took took Josh Allen fromHey, guys, Okay, he did
some things too. Damn that guy'sreally good. No, what event are
you talking about? Maybe that's gonnasee obvious for Steph Diggs. They added
a great wide receiver. So I'mI'm and listen, it's Brian Dables.
(29:59):
So maybe Dable's looking at it andhe goes, you know, I brought
in Jalen Hyatt. He's good,he's getting better. Now I'm gonna give
him a real number one. Let'ssee, we're gonna give this kid one
more chance. He's gonna go outthere and he's either gonna be a rock
star with this great supporting cast,or I'm gonna have a great supporting cast
to try to bring in a rockstar. That's a lot of high expectations
(30:21):
for both those guys like Josh Allenfelt like he was far more accomplished by
the time they brought in Diggs, and Diggs was a veteran. I see
what you're saying, though, Likefor if we if you are a Giants
fan and you really want to seethe development of Daniel Jones, this is
it. Like he's got a lotof chances. They've given him a lot
of chances. They gave him anew contract, he's gotten injured a lot,
he's gotten a new coach. Rightthat timeline, he got Brian Zable.
(30:41):
Before that, it was Joe Judge. I mean he's gone. Now,
Saquan's gone. Everything is said,Daniel Jones, this is your team.
You know what I would have lovedto have happened. And look,
second and third round, there's stillsome decent quarterbacks out there, Like we
wanna talk about talent like arm strengthin the pocket. Maybe didn't put up
(31:02):
the numbers in the film as well, but like Spencer Rattler and Joe Milton
did not have great college careers, but they got talent all day long.
So who knows me and the Giantstake a flyer on one of those guys.
I wish a GM would just comeout and say this sometimes and they
never will, but I wish theywould have said that, like, look,
we really did only like three quarterbacks. We kind of like Shador Sanders
(31:22):
next year. We kind of likethe kid from Georgia name Beck. We
think he's not bad. You saythat kid with a mullet, you cut
it, it's actually pretty good. The quinny yours he's starting over Archie Manny.
I wish that GM would just saythat one time, like we are
probably gonna stink and we're gonna geta quarterback next year so we can all
come back again. That's what mytakeaway from the Giants was last night.
Neighbors is a really nice player. You can have a very good career.
(31:45):
But I think there's some lying goingon involving Big Blue, and we'll find
out if they're telling the truth. If they pass on Rattler and Milton and
everybody else over the course of thenext few days. What if they do
bring it in like like a Rattleror a Milton like that? Does that
tell you that they still don't likeDale Jones, but they know they've got
a year to develop whoever it isthey don't have to reach. Yeah,
(32:06):
I think he does. I thinkif they take a second, third,
or fourth round quarterback, they cansay, Okay, who's got a better
arm? Jones or Milton. Milton'snot great, but he's got a better
arm. Who's better in the pocketand has swagger and command a locker room?
Rattler or Jones might be Rattler.Do you wonder if Tommy Defido's like,
remember me, remember me, getme back on that roster. Huh?
(32:28):
Come on, remember how much funwe had with me? I'm me
touchdowns. I got cutlets over here, alburn Cutts for everybody. Come on
coach, I diable look slimmed downa little bit. Though, maybe that's
the thing you stay away from theBrettet cutletz looks good. It looks good,
So Giant fan, there's a lotof other things you would have wanted,
but I do like this take thoughabout Giants fans who are getting a
(32:50):
little bit of heat today. Thereare Giant fans that back in two thy
seventeen, maybe twenty nineteen, theyear Jones was drafted, where remember they
took I'm in the sixth overall pick, and Giants fans like, oh my
gosh, why would you do that? What a reach? How could you?
I can't believe it? Bah,And then all of a sudden,
it's the sixth pick in the fourthbest quarterbacks there, and Giant fans screaming,
(33:14):
I can't believe you didn't take aquarterback at six? What do you
do when you guys are idiot?Wait a second, wait, are you
the same person who was yelling atme a couple of years ago about what
we're doing at six? Now you'reyou get to pick a lane. Pick
one of these two. Either we'rereaching out a quarterback or we're not.
You don't get to do both.So there are some giants fans twenty nineteen,
twenty nineteen, who what's that happenin real time last night? The
(33:37):
same exact pick. All right,I've got I got some breaking news coming
up for you. But first i'dlove to hear you know they've they put
a ring on it for Millik nabneighbors. Where could they get one?
Oh my gosh, what a tease. I don't even see breaking news on
the phone on the run. Idon't know what's about to happen next.

(41:01):
here we sit. And obviously, guys, you've heard rumors. Everybody's heard
rumors. I love this. Ilove other teams are asking me what I
know, and it's like, dude, you know, give me, give
me to after five six o'clock maybeI'll help you out a little bit.
So here's the situation. The therumors that we will not be on the
(41:25):
NFL network this weekend have turned outto be true. This is one of
those situations where people are gonna tryand make it at the end of the
world. But the bottom line iswhen you know what's happened and you know
how much the NFL has stuck byuh the a f L. It's a
pretty cool thing in a weird way. So guys, you know a lot
(41:46):
about tech stuff, not like howto use it, but you know when
it goes wrong, because usually breakit. I mean it's fair right,
yes, yes, this is theanswer to that. Let's see where this
is. Well, God, whereis this a comparison going? Well,
well, you actually I probably startedbeing really really nice to you, and
I explaining that in a second twoSo, so basically what happened is the
(42:10):
NFL network was usually a third partyproducer kind of to go and work with
the teams. So I got towork with them and we hit it off
great, and they were excited tobe here because of we have a production
company called Myriad, and we haveyou know, Ralph and Chris and and
bo bo is a superhero. Andthey were like, dude, we're in
(42:31):
let's go. This is perfect.Thank you. So I was like,
wow, I did something right. But some of these smaller markets are a
little behind that. At least that'sthe way I understood it, and it's
and it is. If you're notused to it, if you're not working
with guys like we have here,it can be pretty intimidating. Like that
that time I was down south. They didn't have the same equipment we have
here. It was it was toughto learn. So the company that was
(42:53):
the third party, they were like, listen, we're just not one hundred
percent comfortable with all the markets atthis moment. We're gonna go ahead,
we're gonna take a step back.We're gonna let's figure it out. I
don't mean to catch you off theback, but I want to make sure
we don't get too confusing for peoplewho don't do this for a living of
what we're talking about right now.So like a third party, So for
instance, there might be somebody listeningright now who says, like, wait
a second, Wait a second, why isn't the Arena Football League providing its
(43:15):
own production company to teams? Orwhy isn't the NFL network providing its own
production for these teams? Like, for instance, if I watch a game
or listen to a game, isn'tthe production coming from that bigger network.
I don't I could be wrong aboutthis, but I think it's the evolution
of technology. Like for instance, you all but in Siena, if you
watch a game on ESPN Plus, and I don't think the viewer always knows
(43:37):
this even though it says ESPN Plus, it's not an ESPN Plus production.
The production is done on site bythe college. So at what you're talking
about here is like it's not providedby the league or it's not provided by
anybody else, because that's just kindof not how it goes anymore. Technology
caught up where these people can doit right, exactly right, like to
(44:00):
do it the way, like toproduce everything yourself, the NFL, the
AFL, somebody, you'd have tohave sixteen production crews, thirty production crews,
you know what I mean. Likeit just doesn't it doesn't work.
So what you do is there's companiesthat are that that are basically they're basically
an extension of you because you useit so much so that this, like
I said, this other company wasyou know, no harm, no foul,
(44:22):
it's just it's sometimes in the whileyou're developing a team, you know,
you're focused on roster and this andthat, and you're still learning about
the production part of it. AndI think that's all came down to.
And so the the waves was explainedto me, and the way the Pressure
release is going to be written andeverything like that is Week one, no
(44:44):
NFL network. However, we willbe streaming, so I'll be able to
give you those details on that though. I mean, if you're here and
you're listening to us right now, come to the MVP arena because all I
really really care about is that youguys are having a blast and it's a
great show and we're having fun andwe win the dang game. That's like
Meat Spike in person. Check outthe Flames in person, Darius Prince,
(45:07):
want I hand you a football? That's the deal. So after this,
after this week or whatever, we'llbe able to get back into what we're
doing as a league. It doesn'tchange anything we're doing here in Albany,
except for before I give you thenew breaking news. Because a lot of
people had heard these rumors, Iwas hoping it wasn't gonna I was,
(45:30):
honestly, Oh, I was likeit was one of those things like you
know when you're a kid and likeyour cousin or your brother, your sister
or whatever, they don't clean theirroom and all of a sudden, everybody's
got to stay inside. It's like, well, wait, I cleaned mine,
Like I was kind of hope anNFL network and to be like,
eh, Albany's got their stuff together, we'll just go there. Oh,
that's the question I want to ask, Like, and the sibling cousin comparison
is the exact what I was aboutto use, where it's like, wait
(45:52):
a second, I don't get toget ice cream tonight because my brother and
my other brother fought each other. That doesn't seem to be fair. Or
the other two didn't have their homeworkdone, so we don't get to go
to the greatest scape, or soit really happened like that. Again,
this might be because of what's happeningin real time right now. The partnership
that the Arena Football League has withthe NFL. It's more of a well,
(46:15):
that's not a partnership. If we'regonna buy this product, we want
the whole thing. It's not goingto be just half the games or one
market. It wouldn't be fair tothe other markets if we just went to
Albany. Has there been a reasonas to why the Albany game got bumped
even though we're ready to go.Though. The partnership between the NFL and
the AFL is so strong that theydon't want us to look like we've only
(46:35):
got a little bit of our stufftogether. They want like we would rather
sit back, wait, work withyou, get you where you need to
be. We're not going anywhere. It's a multi year deal. Like Lee
Hunt and the commissioner at twel Games, who is you know, the big
boss? Those two have an amazingrelationship with the NFL. So we're golden,
you know, as far as asthat relationship goes long time, long
(47:00):
term, Like to the point whereif if we didn't have the relationship we
have with the NFL, and Isay, weed, none of them know
me, they could trip over me, not know who hell I am.
But if the if the front officeof the of the AFL didn't have the
relationship they have with the NFL,this could have been something where they go,
no, you're not ready, we'reout. No, it was listen,
we get it. You're building, you're growing, you know most of
(47:23):
you've got it all together, andyou want to work to help the other
ones. You're a league. Youwork together until you try to kick each
other's butts. So so we're notgoing any work. You know, take
take your time this week. Let'slet's build the platforms and you know,
and make no mistake about it,the AMNI product will be watched by a
lot of executives in the NFL.Which God leads me to you, and
(47:45):
Andrew Santello. Hey you want towork tomorrow? Uh yeah, yeah,
I'll yeah, I'll work as apart of the broadcast crew. Yeah,
I'll call the game. That'll befun. All right, ayad, all
right, let's get It's the TomGoslawski coming out party. I'm telling you
right now, I feel it.I feel it. We're gonna lose you
to the NFL network after this.No pressure, guys, No pressure,
(48:07):
Andrew. If this goes well, the NFL network might pick you up and
continue to air games. If you, guys stink, the whole contract's over
over the Holy falls because of youtwo idiots. No pressure, do some
chin up tomorrow. Hold on,I owe my quarter a dollar. He
didn't think you'd be I didn't thinkhe'd be able to read between the lines.
Hold on, let me no,it's it's gonna be awesome, like
(48:30):
I said, because we've always doneit. We have a we have a
great team here, and Mariad isamazing. You got you and Andrew do
a great job. That's why Ihad you guys lined up just in case
anyway, because I didn't know whothe NFL network wanted to do the call.
They they went back and watched thebroadcast and they were they were comfortable
with you guys. So it's it'sgood. We're good. Now here's the
(48:50):
breaking news. Here's what nobody knowsyet. So we have a ten game
season with the AFL five at homeon the road. We have pulls and
strings. And now what was oncea June thirtieth game in Georgia is a
July first game in all of then p m VP Arena on Transfinder Field.
(49:15):
WHOA, So season ticket holders, you get, you get that game,
you come to it. You're readyto go. Everybody else, we
got one more data party here inthe cap region. It'll be the end
of the regular season, all theplayoff implications on the line, all the
crazy stuff going on. Nice warmweather for the block party. It's we
got we're gonna We're gonna have ussome fun. So we have a sixth
(49:37):
home game. We were able toWe're able to get out of this.
I think it was one of thoseones where like, hey, we're sorry
that you know we had to takeyears away. Here's this so I'm pretty
good, pretty excited. We havewe have yet another night here at the
MVP Arena to uh, to havefun, to rock the rafters, and
to and to take the Firebirds allthe way in the championship. Right,
(50:00):
So let's let's follow up on afew of those things. I know you
mentioned season ticket holder, so thatcomes with that bonus. There is no
extra pay that's locked in there.Do they have to pay for that extra
game? We have always known thatwe were going to find a way to
get that six game, so whenwe did the discounts, we built it
on a six game, and ifwe hit somehow we hadn't received that six
(50:21):
game, which we knew we weregoing to be able to figure out,
whether it be playoffs or or whatever, you would have a choice between either
getting that credited to your next batchof season tickets or or send it right
back to the card or whatever methodyou used to pay for it. So
we had it built in because weknew what was gonna happen. I don't
think you misspoke when you represented thedate because you had said July first,
(50:45):
which is a Monday, so andthat game schedule for US Sunday so is
a Monday night kickoff. Is whatyou're telling me. One a night football
and all the baby wow that isthat is a big shift. That is
an incredible news for capital and sportsfans that that game has gotten moved.
All right, look at that,an extra home game coming to the five
one eight. Nothing but good thingsright there. I think it just goes
(51:08):
to show, like you you seea lot of people that every time there's
an issue with this league or oror the team or whatever they want to
you know, sky is falling. The bottom line is it's a brand new
league. It's gonna have growing pains. Like there's no way it couldn't.
We're a brand new team, eventhough you know that we've done it before.
(51:29):
We've never had to you know,go find Spike before. We've never
had to you know, do alot of things. So it's all there
was bound to be growing pains, and there's bound to be you know,
some more as we go. Butthe most important and the only thing that
I truly truly care about is thath and every person who comes into the
MVP Arena is gonna see an amazing, amazing football team compete and hopefully go
(51:52):
undefeated. And that's that's what it'sall about. Damon Ware, Dwayne Hollis,
Brendese say, the coach staff,it built a monster, and now
one more night in the in ourhome, in the in the nest for
the flock to watch that monster eat. I don't know if you know any
of this stuff. And again, this is real time, this is breaking
(52:14):
news. There have been talks aboutother teams in the league, especially teams
with some heritage, of things thatare going on, Like what can we
are you not even worried about thatat this point? Like you can only
worry about all but he and thevisitor, because I feel like that's you
are so locked in on the Firebirds. It sounds cliche, but I know
it's true, and I'll let youanswer in a second, but it's like,
(52:35):
I don't think you have time toworry about what anybody else is doing.
And people hear that, they're like, there's no way that's true.
No, you know what I'm talkingabout, Like there's other rumors floating around
other teams. Anything to comment onthat stuff. Uh no, you know
it's it's funny because so I wastalking to one of the security guards here
at the building and they started tellingme some of the rumors and they're like,
yeah, what about that. I'mlike, I, it's the first
(52:58):
time I heard it, And likewhat's all over the Facebook chats and this
and that, and like just Ilike, gods, you know, I'm
Anybody who can see me knows Ilove to eat. Right. I realized
right when we came back from commercialright now that I've had two bananas today.
So I had. I woke upfrom a sound sleep at like four
(53:22):
something. I was up. SoI was like, you know what,
there's a lot to do day beforegame day. Let's get to the office
and get to work. Let's let'sget some things done for everybody else.
Grabbed it called bananas, Grabbed acouple of C fours and a big bottle
of gatorade. Hit the truck, got here, Realized some country acts stole
my parking spot. We'll deal withthat later. Might have to fight a
dude in a flannel and just I'vebeen here all day. My goal was
(53:45):
to get in early, get outearly, go you know, come hang
out with you in studio today, you know, drop off tickets for like
CDTA or whatever. But it's justbeen it's been NonStop. There's there's always
one more thing to do. I'vegot a great crew here, but it's
just I'll put it like this. The promotional item that we will let you
(54:07):
know about for game two on Maysecond, twelve cases of that showed up
today, so i had to godown and get that. But I'm not
allowed to go through the locker roomsbecause some country guys down there. So
that's going on. Then this happens, and now the streaming. Now we're
trying to figure out the best wayto get the stream together. It's non
stop. There's no there is notime for me to worry about anything other
(54:29):
than this. And of course youknow, go go read foxsports dot com
and keep up so I know whatwe're gonna talk about. That's it.
Yes, that's exactly right. Soyou can only can only do so much.
I'm gonna say this, and I'llprobably say it once, maybe two
more times before the show's over. There are certain days I think it's healthy
for everybody to just stay off socialmedia, Like, what are you trying
(54:52):
to accomplish, Like if it's apart of your job, and like days
like today, like the drafts goingon, maybe you want to wager on
some games on the weekend, youcan hop on social media what you want.
You find out what Spring's going on, all that stuff. But if
you're just going to social media fordrama, if you're rooting for the wrong
intentions on things that you might havebeen affiliated with before in the past,
and you're watching it unfold, maybedo something else on a Friday. My
(55:16):
expression, I'd like that I stolefrom social media. Touchcrass, you know,
go outside, put the phone down, play with your kids, play
with your dog, hang out withrelatives and friends, go get dinner,
stay off social media because days liketoday there's only people that are hating on
that. You're in a football league, Levak, you and I have dealt
(55:36):
with people like this. Unfortunately, some are local that whether it be the
Firebirds, the Patroons, the fireWolves, anything that has some type of
Albany professional uh jump off point. There are people like foul foul Like,
there's the negative haters out there.Today's not their day, Tomorrow won't be
their day. Sunday won't be theirday because we got a lot of local
(55:59):
talk coming up, Like we're gonnatalk Patroons, We're gonna talk fire Wolves
later on, Doug Jamison's gonna joinus. So my best advice I can
give you listening to the show, stay off social media today, all right,
Like it's stuff Levac cannot control,Mike Carda, Andy Golcher, Damon
Ware cannot control what else is goingon across the country. Well, and
(56:23):
nor do we, nor do wewant to uh, you know you you
heard me say this back in theday, and and it's different now like
I always wanted us to be.It's a quote I made up that some
people find offensive. I want tobe league proof, you know, like
and and I don't. There's notgonna be a bigger league than the AFL.
(56:44):
Let's be clear. It's there aregrowing pains. It is happening.
But I've been on the owner meetings, I've been on the everything. They're
gonna pay players more than everybody elseis gonna pay players ultimately. So if
you're a player and you want toplay, aren't you gonna go where you're
getting the most money. So ifyou want to play, catch up and
try to you know, build thenext team that's gonna end up leaving you
(57:06):
to go to the AFL. Yougo ahead. I want to dominate the
AFL. So every time they havea problem that, you know, if
I think I can help them solveit and it's not you know, game
related, I'll help. But ifit is game related and it means we
get to kick their butts, I'mall about kicking their butts man. Like
it's it's it's all Many versus everybody. It's forever Firebirds, It's all I
(57:30):
mean, you know, circle thewagons, you know, burn the ships,
whatever you want to say. It'sus over everyone. And if they
can't figure it out perfectly again,I'm more than happy to help. You
know, Sunday through Friday, Saturday. It ain't get no help out of
me. Man, We're taking youdown. And that's that's all I want
(57:51):
to be. I want to bethe winner and I want allbody to always
have the Firebirds now and as longas I can help do that, that's
what I'm gonna do. And uh, if you know Tijuana loses a team,
so be it. We'll take theirfans too. Later on coming up
in the second hour. So comingup here in about ten minutes fifteen minutes,
we're gonna have some opportunities for youto go to the Firebirds home opener.
(58:14):
We'll give you more details on thatcoming up. I can be a
part of that. But before wedo that, we gotta get to the
top forward four, the four biggeststories in the world of sports. But
before the top forward four, beforeyour chance to potentially be at the Firebirds
game this weekend at MVP Arena Levac, let's talk about our friends over at
yous X pest Control. I absolutelylet's go. I got I got the
(58:36):
