We'll find out as this thing goeson, we also will find out
how much longer this series will goon between the Sixers and the Knicks.

(01:30):
Oh my gosh, you gotta bekidding me. Last night, So this
is what happens at the Kazlowski Houselast night, Solium. I got the
old school radio sitting next to me. I'm a nice in the nice comfy
chair. I got all the kidstoys in front of me. They're barely
cleaned up. I was thinking aboutdoing that. So I've got the radio
next to me, I've got thelaptop to the left. I've got the

(01:53):
television feed in front of me.So I've got the triple screen going at
the Kazloski House last night, soit gets too I believe like thirty seconds
left to go in the game,a little closer like a minute thirty for
me though, So right around likea minute thirty, I started thinking,
Okay, this is over. TheKnicks have won. I have to start

(02:14):
thinking about what the log is gonnalook like for the rest of the week,
because hopefully you were listening right hereon Fox Sports ninety five, nine
to nine eighty last night. Whatis this gonna look like? When the
Knicks advanced, Let's start getting ourstation ready for the next round. I
jumped the gun. Probably you Onsocial media, I saw some of the
freezing cold takes get dragged by peopleabout oh yeah, uh, the Sixers

(02:38):
blew the series. The Sixers aredone. Can't believe they didn't win it,
and they left them up to yourcredit, very good stuff right there.
Don't delete the tweet. We'll eventuallyfind you. And then the tires
Maxie comeback. So we saw itearlier in the series with the Knicks.
The Knicks did it themselves. Theywere down by five with thirty seconds to

(02:58):
play. They come back. Ican win that game in game two?
And what are the Sixers doing?Game five? With twenty five seconds to
go, they get a four pointplay with less than thirty seconds. Ay,
I believe it's twenty eight seconds, down by six, and the Sixers
are able to force overtime to keeptheir season alive. They push it to

(03:22):
oteed on the road in a Rockand Madison Square Garden where John Stewart of
all people's now gone viral for thewhat just happened face that's been shared across
all the sports platforms. It's theSixers keeping their season alive with a one
twelve one oh six victory in thatone. I love what Maxi said in
the post game, by the way, has to describe the feeling mandatory.

(03:46):
Usually the NBA guy likes to braga little bit, says historic, legendary
mandatory to keep this thing alive. It's not Joelle and Beid we're talking about.
It's not Jalen Brunson and his Maxiewho had that star performance and it
made me wonder, sure you aswell, who listened to the game here
on Fox Sports ninety five nine tonine eighty, where that ranks among the
great opponent performances at the Garden. So often we see a number hang,

(04:11):
whether it's a fifty point performance ormore so many times as a superstar in
midweek goes to the Garden, Lebronand Kobe and others. Oh, Kobe's
coming to the Garden tonight, Lebron'scoming tonight, Luco Wemby all these players
of what did they do as anindividual at the Garden. But this is
a playoff performance that's going to beremembered. This could already be in the
discussion of the most recent example TreyYoung and of course back in the mid

(04:36):
nineties, Reggie Miller as a memberof the Pacers, of what he's able
to do. It's in that typeof breath of what MAXI did, we
remember it. It raises the standard, it becomes legendary. If the Sixers
complete the comeback, they've got twomore wins to do that. And think
about this when it comes to theKnicks and just New York teams in general.

(04:58):
We sit here on May first, twenty twenty four, we have to
admit it's been a pretty good twentytwenty four for New York sports, whether
it's college or professional, but moreso professional. Think about what the New
York landscape has given us here forthe first four months. The New York
Rangers have already advanced at the StanleyCup playoffs. They've had a fantastic season,
arguably the best of any hockey teamplaying right now. Over the course

(05:21):
of the last few months. Youthink about the New York Mets, who
so far have overachieved. Fair forMet fan, still in contention, the
team doesn't look terrible. Islander fan. I know this season ended yesterday.
Sorry, Islander fan, I knowit's over. But there are points of
this season that you thought you wereout of it. You thought you were

(05:42):
toasted, you thought you were done, you'd come back. You lose to
Carolina. But Islander fans happy,Met fan is happy, Ranger fan is
thrilled. We can talk about theYankees throughout the show today, but if
you're a Yankee fan, you've beenplaying the best baseball and your what two
wins away in the month of April, with more wins than any other team
in Major League Baseball to start offthe season. So Yankees look good,

(06:04):
Mets are overachieving, Rangers are winning. Islanders just got bumped. The New
York Knicks, Oh yeah, youknow, the Giants and the Jets and
the Bills bill season and the waythey wanted Giants and Jet fans excited about
the draft push then twenty twenty three, so the Knicks a few shots away

(06:25):
from advancing to the next round ofthe NBA pluffs and for the first time
all year. And you could pullup the episode if you wanted the podcast
side. Let me know if youcan remember a time during the season or
at any show we've done Lavack andI through twenty twenty four where we've come
on the air and criticized Tom Thibodeau. How wild of a statement is that

(06:46):
on a New York sports talk radioshow for a franchise that hasn't been any
good in about twenty years, hehad some glimpses here and there the postseason
recently and hoping the series will godeeper. But how often can you listen
to a New York sports talk radioshow and here a coach not get criticized
many options in how many moments thatcould happen for whether it's the lineup adjustment

(07:10):
being wrong, whether it's a tradeat the deadline that they wanted, whether
it's how you handle a player's attitude. And you can find tens of hundreds
of storylines that you could come onthe air and say, oh, let's
talk about that as the lead.Today fan base is frustrated by this,
why did he do this? Butwe have barely, if ever, for
close to the entire year, criticizedTom Thibodeaux. Well, that streak aginst

(07:34):
today because you look at what TomThibodeau did at the end of last night's
Knicks game, and you could pointand say, in the overtime period,
Bruntson have way too much focuses onBrunson. Brunton was everybody in the overt
If you're gonna lose the game inovertime because your best player was taking the
most shots and it was the focalpoint of the offense, you take the
loss. So I don't know ifI feel the majority of Knicks fans would

(07:57):
agree with that statement, but I'llstand all that when it say, if
you're gonna suffer a loss in anovertime period and your game plan is to
give your best player of the ballto hope they make plays, I'll roll
with that too. That sounds goodto me. So not as much heat
on the overtime strategy by Tom Thibodeau. The thoughts the end of the game
in the NBA, of all sports, you want to talk about style of

(08:22):
play, changing, rules, changing, strengths changing. The Knicks decided to
let the Sixers launch a three totie the game. To tie that game,
thirty five feet bang somewhere, MikeBreen was ready to let one fly,
we've heard a bunch of bangs fromMike Breen, shocking the crowd.

(08:45):
So let's say we play it outright. Let's say, for instance,
the Knicks are able to foul inthat spot, they forced to go to
the line, you make one oftwo. So many people don't like that
scenario because analytics for some would tellyou if you do foul, you leave
an option to lose the game.In regulation, you make the first free
throw, ball gets tipped out, goes behind the line, you lose the
game. How often does that happen? But in the NBA when the shooters

(09:09):
are better than the kids in college, where everybody in the NBA can shoot
threes, and you know the threesgoing up in the air, no foul.
How many people would come on today, whether you're a Knicks fan,
a basketball fan, or more, and say, let's say the Knicks lost
the game by one in regulation. The way they lost the game was that
you decided to foul when the teamwas up three, And the way in

(09:33):
which they lost the game was amade free throw, tipped off rebound behind
the line buzzer beater to win thegame. That's how you lost the game.
Top Libde shrugged his shoulders, like, okay, I gave our team
the best opportunity to win the game, and that's the scenario that played out.
I'll own that one. You know, if you're a fan of reality
television show, Survivor's one of thosegreat ones where it's like people don't realize
you have to eliminate the risk ofgiving yourself an opportunity to get knocked out.

(09:58):
Really good Survivor player. We'll talkabout burning idols and talking about the
math in which the vote will come, splitting votes and more. The analytics
of hey, what gives me thebest opportunity to win? What is the
best game play here for me towin? I would love somebody, Nate
Silver or others to crunch the numbersof what would have been the difference if

(10:20):
Tom Thibodeau fouled at the end ofthe game in comparison to let that thirty
five foot or fly, Tom Thibodeaucould be looked back on on game five,
be like, this one's on youman. Jalen Brunson dropped the forty,
a big old burger forty burger fromBrunson. The fans are gonna get
on Brunson. Nope. I thoughtJosh Hart was tremendous again o G dropping

(10:43):
seventeen. I thought he was greattoo. The crowd was into it.
We talked in the pregame yesterday aboutBogdanovic, how much, if at all,
the factor with him being out wouldbe potentially playing effect. Not really,
if you want to dive deeper intothe Tom Thibodeau problem of what went
wrong for the Knicks, it's theend of the game. They have the

(11:03):
lead, you got a foul andBrunson getting a lot of the stuff at
the end, a lot of thebulk let him make the play. They
ran out of gas at the end. They thought the game was over.
Everybody did. When you're firing offtweets about how the Sixers choked it,
when I'm trying to set the logfor commercials and more for the upcoming round,

(11:24):
when people are already sending out emailsabout what the season tickets might be
for the next round, you thinkthe game is over. This is San
Antonio, Miami years ago in theNBA Finals, where they're bringing out the
confetti. They're holding back the fansfor the Spurs celebrating. Also before Rey
Aalen hits that jumper. Seven guysplayed for the Knicks last night. Now,

(11:46):
look, the Sixers didn't have anymore Sixers only played eight. But
they're having an overtime game at homeand have just seven dudes hit the floor
and one of them had thirty threeminutes in McBride. Gosh, we knew
this going into this that the benchwould be the question for the Knicks.
How deep could get they go?Could Tom Thibddle turn to somebody, would

(12:07):
they have enough options? Randall hurtLikegdanovich hurt. Eventually the roster just has
to who's next up, Who's nextup, Who's next up? And that's
hard to do, especially the playofflevel and professional sports. But man,
I'm not blaming Brunson for this, not og, not Hart, not de
Vincenzo. Hell yeah, Maxi andthe bet deserve a ton of credit for
the performance in the effort they hadlast night. No doubt Maxie's a legendary

(12:31):
performance now in Madison Square Garden. But if Nick Van looks back and say,
what would have caused this victory togo in our favor? What could
we have done better on that court? To say we've punched the to the
next round, and we're no longerin the first round. You know,
the answers don't want that shot flyfrom thirty five plus feet fowl. Make

(12:52):
another play here and there, makea few more shots in overtime and you're
advancing. Now you get ready forGame six, a late night tip on
the East Coast, the prime timeaction on Thursday night. We've been told
to coverage. We'll get our wayat nine o'clock on Thursday night. Tip
off set for a few minutes afternine. How does that first few minutes

(13:16):
of the game go. Are theKnicks mentally wondering about choking the lead?
Are the gas from Tuesday? Inan overtime game, it's Tom Thibdeau getting
in his own mind and mentally changinglineup. What's Brunson's status gonna look like?
How hurt is NB? Did heget healthy? And more? These
are all storylines we can talk abouton Thursday. But the doors open.

(13:37):
Billy fan has to be thrilled. They look at this and say, we're
even now. You guys got thatone game in the comeback. We got
our comeback. We feel great withthe series shipping for us in a winner
take all game, at the Gardenpotentially for Game seven Knicks fans. There's
no other way to put it.The Knicks fans, they choked that last
night. It's a true choke jobby the Knicks. Opportunities to stop the

(14:01):
shots from going in, opportunities formforce then game to go to ot,
and opportunities to punch your ticket inthe next round didn't happen. We'll hear

(20:18):
here a little bit about Iippy who. That's what we're gonna refer to the
interpreter of for show, Hey Otani, And the story not quite done yet
of what in the world's going oninvolving Otani's former interpreter, the illegal wagers,
illegal bookies, sports wagering. DidOtani know where it does money go?
That whole story that's dominated the sportsheadlines, but even to a time,

(20:41):
not enough about arguably the most famousinternational baseball player being involved in a
cheating scandal in illegal wagering. Sohere's the latest news coming from multiple outlets,
including Tisha Thompson, who was thelead on this report, that a
series of a half a million dollarpayments set from Otani's bank account to an

(21:06):
illegal book making operation were then sentto California and Vegas casinos, where the
money was deposited in gambling accounts, later converted to playing chips, and later
cashed out to pay bookies. Igoing again. That's according to multiple outlets,
now that they were sending this moneyto these casinos, taking the money

(21:33):
out, and then doing whatever theywanted with it, cash it out,
paying back people, gambling and whatnot. Eh? Is that her for other
people to believe? Am I theonly one? I feel like I can't
be the only person who feels likeOkay, so you're telling me, now
a month after we basically found outabout this stuff, that now's the time

(21:56):
we're gonna find out that actually there'scasinos involved, and a big one,
and they're getting sixteen million dollars missingfrom Otani all of a sudden, it's
now starting to pop up. Andnow we know the reason why it popped
up this whole time, Uh,casinos were actually taking it. The reason
that's hard for me to believe isthat wouldn't that have been like the headline

(22:19):
story back in early April. Wouldn'tthis had been the easiest one to figure
out of all the stories. Okay, so you're telling me millions of dollars
is coming to a casino and thewagers are being placed illegally, and no
one's trying to track where the milliondollars are coming from, and then someone's

(22:41):
going to go cash out the chipsfor that, and no one's asking questions
or or even if you hear thatpoint out loud, you're like, Okay,
hang on, guys, that's notas big as a deally think there's
really rich people who can call aheadof the casino and get their chips done,
and they want to work with contiersand b VIP service, So that
might happen more than anything. Okay, I could concede that point that maybe

(23:02):
possibly that's true. But the ideathat Otani's pr people, the crisis team,
the whatever you do, it's notOtani's fault. Whatever happens, blame
somebody else, whatever we have todo to make sure Otani doesn't take the
fall in this guy if he doestwist that narrative, wouldn't you've come out

(23:23):
of the gates with this one.Hey, here's what happened. Not only
did Otani's interpreters steal from him,but not only did he steal from him,
he sent the money illegally do becauseyou know where they cashed out.
Here's the name of the book.Hey, here's this. Here is that.
Let's get ahead of the story rightnow. Here's everything you need to
know about what's going on involving Otani. And if that was the case,

(23:47):
out of the gates I would havebeen like, I probably would have thought
differently, like, Okay, thishas been going on for a while,
they knew who this was. Thisinformation was placed pretty early in the investigation.
Maybe Otani isn't involved. The problemwith the Otani timeline, I'll call
it is that from the moment wethe public and media members as well had

(24:11):
heard about what was going on involvingOtani, we had the original story that
Otani's interpreter was an addict and thatOtani didn't know what to do, and
that he knew his friend was strugglingwith addiction, but he also knew financially
he was struggling, so he gavehis friend money to make sure that he

(24:33):
fought through it, the innocent victimin this whole thing, and everyone says,
whoa, whoa, whoa, whoawhoa. No, no, no,
no, no, that's not whathappened. Uh Otani's friend stole from
him. He never knew it.Otani is the victim Otan. Once you
started getting the conflicting reports out thereof what actually happened between Otani, then
the questions can start getting asked, like why did you open with this?

(24:56):
What's the truth? Is the storynumber one? Is a story number two?
It be acted alone, like youcould start perdicting let's play this game
going forward. And this is oneof the reasons I want to bring this
up in the second topic, theB block as they call it, in
the business of why this is happening, Why this is a bigger deal than
people realized. If you had todraw up Okay, let's play the game.

(25:22):
You're on Otani's crisis team. You'rethinking about it right now. Tanis
just then mowed you a million bucksand said, you're running the show now
for me, how do you thinkthis story's going to play out? Give
me your game plan. Here's howI would play it out if I was
on Otani's pr team. First ofall, we squashed that story like we
just did moments ago about Otani helpingout his friend who was a victim to

(25:45):
the addiction gambling. Gambling addiction.Squash that story immediately, and do they
he's a victim, he was stolenfrom everything else. Now, from now
until the investigation continues to leak littlestories about how awful Hippi is, about
how Otani and him really weren't friendsand he took advantage of his fame,
and how Ippi had been constantly workingwith bookies, and that Ippy's really a

(26:10):
shady guy you can't trust. Ohmy goodness, wait a second, that
actually happened. We found more andmore about the background of Ippy and what
it actually was. We found thesetext messages with hajas and lols from bookies
about how Beatty was at wagering andwhether or not he could continue his play.
Those things came out, and nowthe story comes out that well,

(26:32):
not only was that going on,but this situation involving the casinos was going
on, and where money was takenout and it was used to pay off
bookies and everything else. So theshady level of Ippi continues. We are
not too far away from Ippi's exescoming out next and saying how awful he
is, and then former employees comingout and saying that's what happened, and

(26:56):
that Otani's bank account really isn't evenOtani's bank account. We are gonna continue
to get fence stories like this thattrash everybody involved in this thing except show
a Otani, And we were playingthat game of what would you do on
the PR team, That's probably whatyou would do too. Are we ever

(27:19):
going to hit a point here thateveryone is just gonna come to their senses
and be like Otani was involved? We are just gonna be fooled by reporting
and media and the PR team thatI feel like we're all a little smarter.
But now, the big story todayis that the money that Otani's interpreter

(27:40):
stole from him was sent to casinos. And then again, Otani had no
clue, none, no idea whata book he had it. He was
playing crabs with it. It wasat two am, sitting down doing some
Sudoku puzzles. Can you wager onsadoku? What's that game where you could
sit down, my gosh and blanketon it? Right now? Keno you

(28:03):
imagine the book, He's sitting downplaying some keno had a little five card
parlay going. It's hard for meto believe that, But I know I'm
gonna get more stories like this.I know I'm gonna be smarter. I'm
telling myself that I'm not going tofall for otani nonsense, that I've got
common sense in my mind. Iunderstand that this guy spent more time with

(28:27):
this interpreter than he did with hisfamily and friends, That he was just
staring off into space, that moneywas just disappearing. He never had a
conversation of where sixteen million dollars went. He never had any idea he's involved
with the bookmaker. This book bakerwas just randomly popping up with chips a
casino to just somebody at some pointis gonna say Otani knew, and no

(28:52):
one's gonna act shocked to be likewait, wait wait, I thought we
all decided on that. Major LeagueBaseball obviously doesn't want to tie suspend her
taking out because this would be ascandal for the entire league. The NBA
handled Porter Jontay as we called Jontayporters suspension perfectly. The only difference I
think that the NBA had in comparisonto Major League Baseball and is that the

(29:17):
NBA was very transparent about the wagersthat Porter dropped, like we knew within
a day how quickly the wagers wereout there about Porter. So that's the
other confusing part about this about bookies, the legal bookies absent. More So,
Otani is the most popular international baseballplayer in the world. Some people

(29:37):
would struggle to know what he placedhis wagers on, what it was,
how often numbers are out there, but they all say it's not Otani,
it's the interpreter okay, from ashigh as a half a million dollars to
as low as ten dollars. Sowe know the amounts that he was wagering,
but we don't know the exact playsyet. Johnte Porter, who's not

(30:00):
even the most famous Porter in hisfamily when it comes to basketball players.
It's his brother Michael Porter Junior,is suspended by the NBA and has now
a lifetime ban, which was handeddown before the regular season was even over
to a player that barely anyone knowsabout. And I knew about the parlays
he placed, So the DUDEO gotthe lifetime ban is out of the league,

(30:22):
and I could tell you if hetook unders on himself and constantly got
hurting games, it was throwing gamesand cashing it on his parlies. We
knew all about that from the NBAbecause of its transparency and from what people
figured out involving these websites and more. So we've got that information quickly.
Yet I have no idea what wagerOtani or it he ever placed on individual

(30:44):
games, although we're told it's notbaseball, but it might be baseball,
but Twitter's telling me different, andthat Ippy's money was actually Otani's. I
mean, come on, like, how many layers are you going to put
on this story for me to believe? Isn't that what some people do?
Like if you add more details toa lie, you're starting to convince yourself
that it's true. Wasn't that JasonAlexander's character on Seinfeld, the memes out

(31:10):
there, George Costanza, if youbelieve the lie long enough, it becomes
the truth and it's him with likea black and white gift background or mean
background. We have hit that levelnow with Otani, that if we believe
this story long enough, it actuallymight be true. So back guys here
on Fox Sports ninety five, nineand nine eighty. Here's the other big

(31:33):
story about baseball, too, isthat so many people want that big pop
moment in baseball. We've seen somehighlight home runs. Wan Soto had one
last night. We had the Sevarinono hitter two nights ago, those big
moments that people want to crush inthe past years about baseball not capitalizing on
more hitting the younger audience. They'redoing that. They're figuring out, Okay,
what is gonna give us the mostclicks, what's gonna get people talking

(31:56):
about our sport the most? Howdo we build the popularity all those things
we menagined maxon Miller two. Theserious gassy was pumping from the Ais pitcher,
So they're doing their best to sharingon social media. How about not
one, but two brawls involving baseballteams, most recently the Brewers and Rays
going absolutely at it in a benchclearing brawl this Milwaukee and just got done

(32:20):
with the series with the Yankees too, and they got pounded against New York,
but they seem to be the bestteam in the National League Central so
far. And the Tampa Bay Raysall right, here's what we're gonna do.
We need some attention. I gotan idea. Let's debut a new
uniform during the season. Oh thatdidn't work. We used skateboarders. I
thought kids thought skateboarders were still cool. No, that's not enough. We're

(32:43):
gonna start a fight. So MajorLeague Baseball has got a brawl on their
hands. They're already handed out suspensions. The manager's been talking outfielders infield.
Everybody's getting suspended from the Brewers raisedbrawl. Okay, in the past,
that would probably be the thing thatwould dominate the sports headline. That would
probably be the one, the brawls, the back and forth, who's tougher

(33:07):
than who? But we had somethingelse. No, no, no,
not the brawls from the Brewers andrings that dominated the headlines. Not that.
Instead, it's the hero that younever knew that you needed. This
involves a matchup way out on theWest coast of the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks.
Have you heard about be Guy yet? Our guy, dug out.

(33:30):
He shout out to him on WGI. Morrin's first thing I saw Doug today.
He want to talk about be Guy? The Air's that a Diamondbacks tweeted
out last night about how the gamehad been delayed because there was a B
colony behind home plate and it waswild. Thirty five minutes, forty minutes
of delay, constantly going out thatthe game couldn't start, and then finally

(33:52):
be Guy arrived. Bee keeper MattHilton sprayed a swarm of bees as it
sat there at Chase Field lifted hisarms in the air like Roman Reigns,
saying acknowledge me five minutes before thegame starts, and then he comes.

(34:13):
Hilton saves the day Arizona Diamondbacks.Showing that at d Backs said on another
tweet, I'm gonna tell our kidsthat this is Jason Statham. Fantastic stuff
from bee Guy who saved the Diamondbackgame last night, And it goes back
to what we were just talking aboutpeople being creative on social media. There

(34:34):
was one team I believe it wasthe Colorado Rockies who started leaving the plotline
of the movie the B underneath thecomments feels like a thousand word response to
the Diamondback post. Over one hundredand sixty two thousand views on the Diamondback
fun be Fact number two. Theseguys were killing it on social media last

(35:00):
night. They knew exactly how tohandle this when it came to this type
of chaos in a game. Now, look, how often has it happened
before that We've seen a team seemedtoo stuffy during it. Oh, it's
baseball, it's the unwritten rules,it's traditions. More, don't show a
personality, don't show this or that. Now baseball teams have this platform that

(35:23):
is social media, where they canshow off how they're funny and personable and
everything else, and people respond toit. It's a pretty great thing.
I almost undersold that. By theway, I think I said one hundred
and eighty two thousand views of theDiamondbacks just posting b facts. How about
when they set out that tweet oftonight's game has been delayed due to a

(35:44):
bee colony forming on the protective nettingbehind to home plate. Straightforward answer to
the point. How about five pointeight million views took over the sports world
last night and it was the Mariners. I went to the Rockies. I
know the Rockies have a have agreat social media team, but it was
the Mariners who then started to talkabout aviation in the B movie from two

(36:07):
thousand and seven and more. Thatpost is so long by the marriage,
almost the entire like transcript of themovie. We've got one other big baseball
story from last night that you mighthave missed, and it involved in New
York team. How do you seta record in a New York stadium?
Well, you might want to dowhat this team did last night. But

(36:28):

Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, thatwas awesome there, All right, good
stuff there. Let's talk about thisMet fans. Forty thousand plus hot dogs
were sold last night. It wasDollar hot Dog Day at city Field as
the Mets took on the Cups,a new record at city Field. I
believe the final number is a littlebit over forty four thousand hot dogs sold

(43:51):
at city Field. If you area Mets fan and you are able to
grab yourself a hot dog, excellent, good for you. Nothing is better
than Dollar hot Dog Day. Iremember working for and going to games four
The Syracuse Mets. Then the SyracuseChiefs Syracuse Scott Chiefs NBT Bank Stadium there
in Central New York where it wasThursdays, it was dollar Thursday, so

(44:12):
it was dollar beer, dollar hotdog, and eventually they had to bump
up the beer sales to two dollars. But Thursday nights were packed to see
the Syracuse Mets. That was theirmost popular day because everyone loves a good
hot dog, good beer. Thisis rarely used in Major League Baseball,
Like if you want to be supernegative guy today and say it's too gimmicky,
it's too stupid. The Mets don'thave to do this. They're the

(44:34):
Mets. This is a classic minorleague ballpark gimmick. You don't need dollar
hot dogs. Did it work?Do you think this was a successful thing
for the Mets. That's selling dollarhot dogs and forty four thousand plus hot
dogs and attendance in the crowd work. Yes, So if the fans were
happy, it was talked about. The promotion was good. You made money,

(44:55):
you set records and more. I'mnot gonna blame it. I'm not
gonna be negative. I'm gonna embraceit. I want more dollar hot dog
days. Dollar Dog Night. Yes, it was every Thursday in Syracuse.
I'm sure the Valley Cats got somethinglike this. Look, we had a
lot of great local teams going on. We saw some discounted beer prices for
the Albany fire Wolves. I've hadsome beers at Patruon games at the Armory

(45:21):
the Firebirds. I don't know whatthe beer prices were, the hot dog
prices were. It would be fun, you know what. I'll ask this
if you want to shout out,I'm sure love will join us a little
bit. If someone goes to theFirebird game this week and runs Anero Santillo
or myself a hot dog. Idon't know if I can have a beer
up there because there's too much equipment. I might say a shout out to
you, shot out to Ryan orwhoever it is someone brings up a beer,

(45:44):
a hot dog. Nothing better thandollar hot Dog Night, just hammering
glizzies, hammering beers, having agreat time, and enjoying it with friends
and family. More So, shoutout to the New York Mets for doing
Dollar Dog Night in forty four thousandplus being entertained by all the action involving
the Mets. Let's do more ofthat locally. Nothing wrong with getting a

(46:06):
little gimmicky in sports, and ifyour fan base embraces it and people embrace
it, nothing wrong with that.Again, Baseball man showing off the personality,
Diamondbacks, Mariners, Mets, Brewers, raised tons of teams showing it's
not just the old school style ofbaseball. We can actually be funny and
have a personality when it comes tosports. Baseball is in a great spot
right now. Now. Showing offyour personality and showing what you could be

(46:29):
and branding and everything else seems tobe a great thing for baseball right now.
It is, But there are somepeople who take that to the extreme,
some people who use that example fartoo deep to build their brand.
And maybe the king of all timein the history of sports doing this before
anybody else was Dion Sanders, brahTom even the nick name. I almost

(46:51):
called him prime Time before I saidhis name. That is branding in its
finest. When someone calls you yournickname before your actual name, that means
the marketing has worked, That meansthe brand is on point. Why is
Deon Sanders in the news again?Well, some have tried to take shots
at Diona the Colorado Buffalo's because theylost nearly sixty percent of their attendance.

(47:15):
That's going viral out in Colorado becauseof the photo of the near empty stands
for the Buffalo spring game. Somethey are locally in Colorado were quick to
point out they had forty five thousandat the spring game last year. Losing
sixty percent still means they're close totwenty thousand people at a spring game for
a four to eight team. It'sokay. Deon's had a haters for a

(47:37):
long time. Deon Sanders is cockyand arrogant and showman and everything else that
he's been taking on haters since hiscareer as an athlete, as a broadcaster,
as a coach, and more. But now this one goes a little
bit further because it involves his son, Shador Sanders. Jador Sanders projected by
some to be the number one overallpick in the twenty twenty five NFL draft.

(48:00):
Dion also has another son on theteam, Shiloh Sanders, who actually
had a really big pick. He'sa really good player too likely to be
an NFL draft pick as well.Well. The Athletic ran a report that
the transfer portal is opening Colorado madeso many headlines in twenty twenty three about
going to the portal that some ofthese guys have left. And asked little
Vac this question earlier this week aboutare you concerned about Colorado's players hitting the

(48:23):
portal, and he said not really, because this is college sports in general,
and if guys were complaining about notplaying before and they're not the stars
now, they might hit the portalagain. It's hard to paint with a
broad brush of how many Colorado guyshit the portal because of ego about playing
for Dion and Moore. Some reportshave talked about Dion Sanders being too tough
on players. Some guys wanted themto be tough. Some guys have said

(48:45):
Dion's not fair. I think Deon'sfully admitted he's not fair. He treats
people differently in comparison to their skillsset well. The story of The Athletic
picked up talked about Xavier Smith hittingthe portal Xavier Smith and Dion sand This
is what Zavier Smith said in thispost to the Athletic quote. I was

(49:05):
actually getting mad, like tears cominginto my eyes because bro, you never
even tried to get to know me. He was destroying guys confidence belief in
themselves. The way he did it, it could have been done with a
little bit more compassion. Okay, sounds like a college kid just speaking his
mind until his former teammate, ShadorSanders spoke up and said this quote,

(49:30):
I ain't even remember him. Tobe honest, bro had to be very
min at best. So the twentytwenty five number one overall pick projected by
NFL teams and marketeers and draftees, this is what he comes out of the
gate withs Hey, that teammate sucked, So who cares? That's the translation

(49:52):
there. I don't even remember thisdude being on the team, probably sucked.
When I first read this tweet,I got real ticked. I got
really upset because I don't care ifit's guy ninety five on the roster or
guy number two, however you rankedthe him. I don't care if it's
leper Cohn League basketball for five yearolds at Saint Pat's Church, or it's

(50:12):
Cyo or it's not. You shouldget to know your teammates, every single
person on the team. Now,I remember his little kid. That was
the first thing we did. Wegot in a circle and said what do
you want your teammates to call you? My dadd used to be the coach?
What do you want your teamates calledyou? So you knew everybody on
the team as you got older. You shared a locker room in college of
players in high school, you probablythe same class. So for shador Standers

(50:34):
to rip apart a teammate feels reallynasty. Hey, he's not as good
as me, so I didn't getto know who he was. Oh,
maybe self has changed since I've beento college in sports. Maybe that's the
thing about the portal that he probablyknew this dude for six months and didn't
care. I'll never talk to thisguy again. I don't care. I'll
rip him. And that's where itis like shador Standers ripping his former teammates

(50:57):
seems real nasty and a super levelof airant. Enough, I'm so good,
I won't even get to know whoyou are. You're probably a mid
it best. I'm so good,I don't even remember you. Being on
the team isn't a flex as hethinks it is. It's a I'm so
arrogant and I think I'm so good. I don't even know who's on the
roster. Ooh, But there wasone part of me that thought, okay,

(51:21):
that was my first instinct to thechad Or Sanders tweet, and I'm
like, oh, maybe it's moreto this than that. So Xavier Smith
is trying to take shots at DionSanders. Dion Sanders is the father of
Chador Sanders. If you saw someonetaking shots at your dad, or your

(51:44):
mom or your brother nationally, whatwould you do on social media? Would
you not respond? Would you respond? There are parents and wives and husbands
who create burner accounts because they carewith death Slayer sixty nine says about him
on Twitter. There are people thatare that sensitive and that insecure that they
will respond to every single comment inthe chat room on social media media members

(52:08):
and more. There are people whohave thin skin, so it's easy to
say you wouldn't do it, butyou maybe you've never been in that spot
before. So how much if itall did Shador Sayers going at Xavier Smith
have to do with him as aplayer or him defending his father's reputation,
Then we start thinking about that alittle bit different. But Dion has been

(52:29):
non stop today on Twitter Dion. Here are some of Dion's tweets today.
I mean he has fired off aboutseven or eight of these. Dion's posting
gifts about himself rocking the chain.Dion said, stand up and stand out,
stand bedsigned for whoever you're riding with, but don't sit down. This
ain't musical chairs. It's life, and it's time for you to stand up

(52:50):
for what you believe. Stand upnow and allow your presence to be felt.
Hashtag coach Prime. There's Dion walkingthrough a crowd of haters. Dion,
let me stop tweeting and have ablessed day. I'm sorry, thank
you. He's got the reality seriesgoing in Colorado. He's tweeting out to

(53:13):
the haters. His son is doingwhat he does, blasting former teammates.
This is not even the tip ofthe iceberg. Get ready for one year
from now. No, no,not even a year from now. Get
ready for eight months from now whenwe start talking about Shador Sanders, the
number one pick in the twenty twentyfive NFL Draft. You thought this year's

(53:37):
draft had drama. You thought sixquarterbacks going to the first top twelve picks
with entertaining I love the Johnny Manzeldraft. Think it's my favorite draft.
Of all time when every pick afelt like Benzel was gonna go. How
about the year when it was Rosenand Allen and Darnold and Baker and Lamar,
all those guys in the mix.Nothing is going to be like the

(53:59):
twenty twenty NFL draft. That ifShador Sanders has a big year in Travis
Hunter, also his teammate, alsowith Deon Sanders, player has a good
year, and Deon sticks by whathe said, and he's only gonna let
those two players play for certain teams. It is gonna be absolute cast.
You're gonna hear every single take aboutthese guys, some takes you never heard
before. This tweet, this tweetfrom April twenty twenty four might get brought

(54:24):
back up. In April twenty twentyfive, iron a Store, Adam Schefter
had this free span. Adam Scheftersaid Spencer Rattler, doing that QB one
show in high school influenced what NFLteams thought about him. But dude,
in high school and you're telling meShador Sanders taking shots at his teammate and
Deon seeing what team he's gonna playfor or not won't have an impact on

(54:45):
their draft on NFL teams on howthese players evaluated in and marketing and everything
else. We are just getting thetip of the iceberg for what the twenty
twenty five NFL draft's gonna be.This Colorado team is not gonna have the
hype it had in twenty twenty three, but it will dominate national headlines again.
A four in eight Colorado team thatwas to talk of college football the

(55:07):
start off last September is back inthe mix of Shador Sanders might be like
no other prospect at the quarterback positionwe've ever seen before, blasting teammates on
social media, having deon Sanders asa father, transferring from a school that
people thought he wasn't good enough for, and now Holly now for teams he
wants to play for. Willy backit up in a new conference now that

(55:30):
the Pac twelve's gone, we waitand see what the little previews we can
get is if you follow coach Primeon social media, Now, what's gonna
happen when Shador Sanders gets that bigold paycheck? What's happened in your life
that maybe you know a relative andaunt and uncle somebody who might have fallen
into some assets. Maybe two hundredand fifty thousand plus. Maybe they've inherited

(55:52):
something. There are so many peopleI know you have these conversations of God,
