It's Lavak and Guz on ninety fivenine Fox Sports Radio. It is Kelly.
Well, well, well look whatthe cat pooped up? Is Michael
Scott's. Yeah, that's right,it's Michael Scott. Once said, well,
well, well how the turn tables. Look, who's decided to join
us here? Now? Number threeof the show decided to take the first

(00:20):
two hours off because quote unquote,I'm busy. It's my wonderful co host,
Lavac High Levac, Hello, thereyou are, I see you.
Very wise man once told me neverbe a little bit late, because if
you're a little bit late, they'llbe mad at you. If you're gonna
be late, be really late, because that way they're more worried than angry.
So I apologize. I was justfollowing words of wisdom. I've never

(00:43):
heard you say that before, andI think it's a great piece of advice.
Is a true story. One ofmy first radio gigs I worked on
the show called Bud and the Manchildand Bud Pollock, what is this legendary
sports journalist? Theyre probably should bein the New York statey Broadcasting Hall of
Fame, and Bud would show upfive minutes late to the show six minutes
late, ten minutes late. It'sonly a two hour show. You're right.

(01:03):
If he had showed up at likeeleven thirty, people had been like
why is But okay, Bud,the show starts at ten great point.
Yeah it's it's listen. You know. I don't recommend it. I've always
been you know, you're If you'renot fifteen minutes early, you're late.
But uh, you know, Ineeded a little time to get some stuff
under control today that there's moroccas everywhere. Uh, you know, I gotta

(01:25):
I gotta get everything together. Youknow, big game natural cats coming to
town tomorrow. Yeah, we getwe beat those cats. Can I do
that during the broadcast tomorrow? Justbe like, mam ma, I need
you to not do that, becauseI have put everything I've got on the
line saying that to the NFL networkthat you can handle this. You cannot

(01:51):
just start. Yeah, please don't. And I have to wear pants.
I have to wear pants. Itexted you that you didn't respond. Uh,
you know what. I I don'tknow that they're gonna do we ever
actually focus on you guys with acamera. I don't know you do.
No. I think that's probably onpurpose. I hope you wear pants,
but if you don't wear pants,as long as no one sees you,

(02:13):
I'm okay with it. I justneed those. I just need that that
Ghazi Bear color commentary. That's whatI need, all right. I will
do my best tomorrow. It'll bea lot of fun. You and I
will be hanging out tomorrow at MVPArena. What you did miss today,
we talked to tomorrow. How arewe doing that? No, I think
this will be the same setup.I will be a part of the radiothon
tomorrow for w g Y, soI will be back in ste so likely
another remote show. But what youmissed earlier in the show, we did

(02:36):
talk and I want to get tothe Yankees and Orioles later in this hour.
I'll bunch of stuff we missed. But I do want to talk about
the next game. Last night anepic choke by the Knicks. We can
preview Game six, which, bythe way, our coverage is gonna go
to underweight at nine o'clock on Thursday, nine o'clock late tip off on the
East Coast. Lovac your take aboutthe Knicks choking the game away and what
you think about Game six coming upthat was a heartbreaker. I was literally

(03:00):
like, I'm watching last night andthere's there's even when they were down,
like there were plains where the Knickswere down and trailing, and I was
like, that doesn't matter, Likewe've got this thing. Brunton's got the
the eye of the Tiger part wasn'tlike the greatest shooter. But he was
so physically demanding and and and JoelEmbiid is done like he was limping,

(03:23):
he's he is in pain, heis in trouble. This was the Knicks
game. They had it several timesover and they just they just coughed it
up. They just gave it awayand have a four point play be the
reason with all those great knicks inthe stands drove me saying it hurt.
It's done last night. I definitelyyou know, I had already done a

(03:45):
shot at night quill because of thecold. I may have followed up with
the second one. Kids don't drink, but it was and again he only
played seven players. He looked likeyou were running out of gas, Like
I don't know where was the bigsnees? You know where it was,
Jerick W Sims? Where were anyof these other guys to get a little
bit more, a little more wininto your starters and give them some time.

(04:06):
You know, Bronston plays fifty oneminutes, hard fifty three, Anobe
fifty. You know, Hartenstein twentyseven. McBride off the bench for thirty
three. I think the big Stezprecious situation have been out there for at
least ten to fifteen minutes. Ihave no disagreement with that. I feel
like Tom Thibodeau, I'll go backto this too, Loo bec It's rare

(04:30):
you me sports talk radio guy CapitolRegion or New York Sports. And this
is the part about rooting for NewYork teams following New York teams. There's
such a passion for those teams, college and professional that it's rare that if
a team loses a coaches and criticizedfor decision or whatever it might be.

(04:51):
You and I have gone about whateighty seven games into the next season.
Games started airing in January, buteven before that, I can't tell you
more than two times all season, and might even be less than two.
Then you and I had a discussionout. Wow, Tom Thibdau has been
terrible this season. Oh what aterrible move by TIBs. What does TIBs
do. I don't know if we'veever criticized something Tom Thibodeau did this season,

(05:15):
whether it comes to the rotation, whether it comes to substitutions, the
trade deadline, Obi top and itwas like a year ago, which was
the criticism of like maybe he shouldbe playing him more, but he found
a better spot. That's the firstgame last night with what we're talking about
substitutions, maybe leaning too much onBrunton at the end, maybe just flat
out not fouling that would have helped. Will Brown is the king of that.

(05:38):
Will Brown used to always foul whenhis team was up three and said,
I'll find out if we're gonna losethis way. So that's the first
game all year, in almost ninetygames where you not gotta come on the
air and be like Tom Thibodeaux, what happened? Man? You've been great
all season. You've been one hundredpercent great. And I think a lot
of that has to do with bothmanagement and the roster, management of minutes,

(05:59):
and flat out just not failing feelingwhat it mattered the most at the
end of the game, all ontips. A huge part of that's on
tips yep. I mean Tyrese Maxhe played his played like his bobbles on
fire. Good for him, butagain it's just m beat his toast and
you saw it like he did.He was lashing out towards the end of
the game on brunts and everybody likethat. He's toast. It's over.

(06:23):
So as long as you don't giveup forty six to Maxie again, you
should win this thing pretty pretty easilyin Philadelphia. Like I said, unless
mister Miyagi fixes em beads lag orwhatever the hell's going on there, we
should be good. But that justthat was a little demoralizing to lose that
game in the way they did. They had that thing it goes into OT

(06:45):
and they just they didn't even reallyshow up for OT. In my opinion,
they just they looked lost. SoI'm a little nervous. I'm I'm
those are momentum games. People wantedme to call it a must win yesterday.
I refused to do that. ButI do think that there's a lot
a lot of weight on game ongame six. I think Game six is
gonna be extremely important. You don'twant a game seven of this thing,

(07:08):
even though it would be on aMSG. Get this thing done, get
it over with, win the seriesfour to two, and then take a
little break and get ready for whoeverwins between the Bucks and the Pacers.
But don't lose this game coming up. Just don't do it. I need
a little bit of help here withmy memory when it comes to all time
great performances by opposing players, opposingplayers, and Mason Square Guardian, because

(07:34):
the three that jump out to merecently, one's very recent because it happened
yesterday. Maxi's performance is being calledone of the best performances by an opposing
player in the history of Madison SquareGuarding, which I thought that that was
too big of a jump all ofa sudden, But I'm like, ooh
uh, maybe maybe maybe it's inthat contra Tray Young Trey Young just became

(07:56):
the voice of Oh my gosh,I can't believe this is gonna happen.
Tray Young Trey Young's pretty awesome.Reggie Miller's always the one that jumps out
to me. We're not gonna goquickly to Reggie Miller level for Maxi last
night right now, I know thecomparison's easy, and how many the comebacks
and everything happen. It's no,right, Maxi's not on Reggie Miller's level

(08:18):
after the Last Night from ninety fourI'm talking about. No. But I
will say, if you wanted tomake that comparison, I'd allow it for
one reason. People often forget. And when Reggie Miller did the choke symbol,
the Knicks won that series in six. Here we got a the back
that's exactly right. Ninety four finals, yep. So if you'd like,
if, if you'd like to makethat comparison, I'll allow it simply because

(08:39):
I like how that one ended. No, he's he played. He played
a great game. He really reallydidn't consider in fact that Kyle Lowry was
less than and then beat his hurt. It was a great game. It
stands up. But it's not.I don't he. I think he'll do
it more like Ice Tray was outthere hammering us all the time. Reggie

(09:01):
Miller would hammer the Knicks all thetime. They never missed. Larry Bird
Lay Bird did it to everybody, but he did that to the next of
bunch those those to be the alltime Nick killer, you have to do
it more than once. He doesthat in Philly Uh, it's a late
game too, isn't it? Fridayat nine? Is that what it is?
Nine? Tip off a few minutesafter nine. Yeah, I mean

(09:24):
that's Will. That's that's kind oflate. That's I'm not thrilled about that
at all, to be honest withyou. But if he does that Thursday
at night, so then then youcan put him in that in that conversation.
But as of right now, it'sjust a great game. Four point
play did in front of the Knicks. Legends that hurt. I didn't like
that one bit, you know, but we uh we you know, we

(09:50):
carry on. That's what we haveto have no choice. The photo that's
going viral of John Stewart making aface of what happened? What's going on?
The reason I brought up Reggie Millerin and I'm look at this.
This is a second show in arow where you and I aren't even in
the same room, but we aregoing towards the same place. There for
the Miller comparison is that it's reallyhard for casual sports fans, even guys

(10:11):
or girls who love following sports,to remember these moments of how the series
ended because a lot of times themoment stands out or how a game ended
because a moment or a play standsout. One of the ones you always
bring up, especially for New Yorkfans back is the Odell Beckham legendary catch
that people forget they lost the game. They know the catch, they forgot
they lost the game. People rememberthe ninety four Reggie Miller spike Lee back

(10:31):
and forth in the choke symbol. How many people remember they lost the ninety
four finals, And the same thingcan happen here for Maxi, That MAXI
could have this incredible game and allof a sudden, the six Ers don't
come through. If anything, peoplemight look back at Maxie and be like,
okay, and Beads really hurt, and Beads giving his best effort out
there, how good? And howfar can MAXI take this team if he's
gonna have games like you did theother night. The other thing is the

(10:54):
negativity starts to creep in here forKnicks fans, because that was a done
deal, Like you were ready tomove on, you were ready for the
next matchup, you were ready topunch the ticket celebrate. MSG was rock
And I was texting during the gamelast night that that home crowd advantage was
so loud and so true and thateverything. Oh no, same old Knicks,

(11:16):
classic Knicks. We did this withthe Mets yesterday in the same hour,
but the Mets had become known forchoking games away and losing. They
did it with Severino this week, and now the Knicks finally have that moment
to pay it off, take downPhilly and everything, and they don't pay
it off. That's my fear aboutGame six, Lavac, and you and
I can talk about tomorrow or justget a little early preview now of it.
It's like, if they get downten to nothing in the first or

(11:39):
if they're getting smacked in the firsthalf, this series could be over because
when that negativity starts to creep in. You didn't take out Philly, you
gave them hope. Now the pressure'son New York even though they're the two
seed. That hasn't been the caseall series. Now the pressure's on of
all of a sudden mentally, canwe not close out Philly? Did we
get lucky? Is Maxie this good? Is Brunton tired? Do we need

(12:01):
more players? His tip's gonna makethe right to say, even though they're
pro athletes, and that happens alot more in college than the professional level.
That could happen like that, NickFinn. If it starts looking bad
in the first half Game six, panic, panic, But I don't want
the negativity to creep in because therewas more to that than just a simple
choke. It was the Knicks beingsuccessful. But gosh, now Knicks fans

(12:24):
are feeling those moments of Reggie inthe nineties and other series they should have
won the past thirty years. Well, it's it's it's uncle mom. The
momentum can turn, it can turnfast. So I mean, that's one
of those deals where you've got toyou know, you've got you gotta close
this thing out again. I'm notgonna say must win. I don't care
Corey and Greenwich, I'm not sayingit. But it's about as close as

(12:45):
you can get without being eliminated.Because if this does, if it falls
to a game seven tom Philly withwaye Tyres, Maxie's playing and all that,
I'm feeling pretty good about myself andall the things we said about the
next where it's like, hey,you kind of stole one, you did
this just now, all of asudd in the seventy cent yes to say,
Okay, we stole one two,who can steal the next one?
And I I know it needs tobe the Knicks. It just needs to

(13:07):
be the Knicks. That's all thereis to it, Guys. I'm not
I'm not asking much. Knicks needto win this next game and then get
ready to take on the winner ofIndiana and Milwaukee and then we're good.
How about a blowout? How aboutno of these no more of these close
games down to the wire, buzzerbeater, need finish overtime, big shots,
how about like a seven point victoryfor New York in Philly? You

(13:30):
want to talk about And I knowwhen Beete said this in the Boat post
game too, like people had askedthem, what do you think about the
hostile crowd in New York? It'slike, it's not hostile. I've played
here before, I know how NewYork fans are in it's gonna be hostile
in Philly, like and Bean hasbeen bowed even though you and I the
start of the series talked about theVillanova connection. For the Knicks players,
they'll find somebody. Maybe the boomingwould be a little lighter for the guys
who did play their college ball forthe Wildcats. But it is gonna be

(13:54):
a wild crowd in Philly on aSaturday, excuse me, a Thursday.
It's probably gonna feel a Saturday ona Thursday rooting that sixer team on.
It's gonna be interesting too. Hopefully, with any luck, Firebirds go ahead,
handle business early, take out theNational Cats in quick, in short
form, and I'll be able towatch the fourth quarter of the next game.
That'd be huge if I get that. That's the perfect Thursday night for

(14:16):
me right now. You get themto get both done at once. That
feels like as much as that wouldbe really cool. If you have DV
archer House, if you've got theNBA League Pass, that'd be nice.
I don't know if it's gonna bepossible. I think you're gonna probably watch
it late, and I'm gonna watchit early. I would love to live
tweet that game. But I havea feeling that's the benefit of this job

(14:37):
in twenty twenty four. Back inthe day, you had to watch the
event live or else you missed itforever. Not always the case. Now
you're viewing. Pleasure can happen wheneverwe need it to. I'm rooting for
you, that'd be awesome, butI don't think. I don't feel like
you are, by the way,Philly three and a half plaint favorite early
on. So that's that's the dealthere. All right, guys, Well

(14:58):
let me see here. Have Itold you how I've been sleeping lately?
I feel like I forgot to mentionyou have not told me. The Integram
Sleep Center embosses spot with doctor FredDreer, I've been sleeping great because of
them. Doc is a dentist andhe is a diplomat of dental sleep medicine.
So when you go and check itout there, they're gonna walk you
through it. They're gonna work withany insurance company to try to get take

(15:20):
care of the best way possible. And then if you're like me, it's
it's a beautiful thing. Because Ihad severe obstructive sleep avenue. Now because
of my mouthpiece, I our waysopen my stores under control. I'm sleeping
better, I'm feeling better, I'mfighting colds off faster. It's been it's
been a lot. It's it's beenso much better. And no surgery,

(15:41):
no hoses, no wires, nomask to get that done. Eight eight
five eight eight, five, sixfive, doctor Fred Dreer and the Integram
Sleep Center. Emboss's father helped mesleep better. They're gonna help you sleep
better too, Gos. I'm onyour dime, man, What do you
need next? Excellent? And wecan talk about the Yankees and Orioles,

(16:02):
talk about our way. Sure yougotta go, all right, we'll talk
about the next. Fox Sports Radioninety five, nine to nine eighty.
It's Love, Ack and guzz onthe voice of the Capitol Regions Sports Fan
Fox Sports ninety five to nine andnine eighty. Welcome to uh and Goz
mostly gazed today. That God he'sin there handling business. I've been all

(16:22):
over the place trying to, youknow, fix things, get things running.
We got a little bit of afootball game going on tomorrow night live
on the NFL Network, but mostimportantly live at the MVP Arena, and
we'd love everybody came out to it. Why do I feel like I feel
like we're not usually talking right now? Guys? What's going on? Yeah?
This is usually the slot for theAlbany FireWolves. It has been an
interesting show, It'll be an interestingshow the next three days. Lavac joined

(16:45):
us here in the third hour.Uh I made sure to keep this topic
open. But again, if you'rea Firewolf fan, you've gotten used to
that this is a spot since we'vemoved to three hours, that a Firewolf
player or coach would join us Thursdayand Friday, So note that Thursday in
Friday they're gonna be scheduled to joinus. I believe Nathan Granted is gonna
join us on game day, whichis awesome, so it will be I'll

(17:06):
make sure to kiss up to himon Friday that he's gonna join us on
game day. So he scheduled joinus at five twenty on Friday. And
then Anthony Jokum Yakum Joaquem, howeveryou want to say his last name,
Jacob's gonna join us five point twentyon Thursday, one of the captains of
the team. So look out forthose interviews. You got double Firewolf interviews
coming up. And also we gotsome cool things you might have missed it

(17:27):
earlier in the show. We gaveaway a pair of Firewolf tickets, so
you'll have some opportunities again Thursday andFriday to win some tickets. Uh.
So we gave away tickets. Wehave FireWolves coming up Thursday Friday. I
did not forget about what happened andyesterday's I believe they call this baseball involving
the Yankees and the Orioles. We'vesettled on a wager, and now my

(17:48):
Orioles have taken another one in thisset of games of the Battle of the
Al East teams and fact. Idon't know how your office is doing,
but my phone is telling me theOrioles are now in first place in the
American leagueest I don't know if you'reconnection has that same thing over there.
I haven't even a time to lookat something as patty as that. You
know me, I'm I'm a biggerpicture guy. I'm a bigger guy,
and I don't like to you know, I don't gloat. I don't get

(18:11):
into that side. But if youwant to, you go run ahead.
I mean, you know, twonothing typical Orioles fans celebrating in May.
It's fine, go ahead, fourto two victory for the Baltimore Orioles.
Jordan, mister war westbig putting upthe first run. Who cares if it
was a fielder's choice. Gunner Hendersonstaying hot, Adley Rushman staying hot.

(18:33):
Now I know in that course ofthe game, Juan Soto hit a home
run, and not just a homerun, not just like the bat flip
or whatever that thing is. Thatball went four hundred and fifty feet.
I've seen the replay like four orfive times. Have we confirmed that hit
the warehouse? Because if it didn't, it's got to be one of the
furthest balls hit in a non homerun derby in the history of Camden Yards.

(18:56):
Have I told you one of myfavorite things about Candon Yards is those
little round bronze plaques that they putin there where the ball's hit, like
for the big home runs. Ilove that. I can't wait to see
Wan SODA's that's gonna be awesome.I don't enjoy it as much unless it's
an Oriole that has the plaque outthere. I believe the furthest ball ever
hit it Camden Yards. And theysaid this on the television broadcast was by

(19:19):
Paul O'Neill. Paul O'Neil might havethe record, I know they mentioned it.
Ken Griffey Junior might have had itin the home run derby, and
I'm sure someone's gonna be like,no gods, it was twenty twenty one.
Those are the names that were broughtup quickly after the Sodo blast.
Well, I mean it was thatwas impressive. It was a lot of
fun. What I'm having trouble dealingwith in my own head is the Yankees.

(19:42):
They just don't look right. Okay, So are they Are they not
right or is it your orioles thatare making them not right? And I
can't I can't quite put my fingeron because the pitching's there. The Yankee
pitching has been fine. You know, Cortes six innings of four run ball.
That's if he does that every timehe goes out. You you know,

(20:04):
I'm not put a statue up,but or it'll be a fake mustache
day. So like when you gotthat working and everything, and you're still
not doing much, like you're notdoing anything offensively. And your boy Kremers,
he's a hell of a pitcher.I'm not gonna pretend he's not.
But they were working cowns there. There there were some pitchers they could hit
and they just weren't hitting them.So is it your team is making my

(20:29):
team look bad? Or is myteam just playing poorly at this moment?
It's not the second one. TheYankees are not a bad team. They
played really good all season. Asmuch as I like to trash the Yankees
and say it's more about New Yorkand it's Baltimore's division to run away with,
that's not the case. Baltimore isbetter than New York in twenty twenty
four. I will stick by thatpoint. They were better in twenty twenty

(20:51):
three. They won the division, they had more wins, they had more
young talent. So they're slowly startingto reveal that they have been the better
team, and not enough has changedfor New York to catch them. I
gave you this point a ton lastOh my goodness, I just stumbled upon
this too. Let's remind people onemore time that we're in the three o'clock
hour. It is our one yearanniversary today on Fox Sports. I know,

(21:15):
I said, yeah, I know, I said in the passim like,
wait a second, it is Mayfirst. I mean, remind people
again, happy one year anniversary, that I told you last year that there
were gonna be some franchises who benefitedfrom the rule changes, the pitch clock,
the expanded bases, runners on second, there were going to be franchises
who benefited from that because they wereyounger, quicker, faster, had a

(21:37):
different style of hitting at the plate. Baltimore's one of them. Baltimore probably
was, I don't know, shocked. What's the word air boosted that.
Hey, we're gonna give you benefitsof the shift is gonna get eliminated.
You're gonna have quicker base pass waysto get around it. You're gonna have
to make a selection on your pitch, quicker than ever before. All those
things benefited the Orioles, and theyare one of the teams who's benefited from

(21:59):
rule changes. That's not taking anythingaway from Baltimore, but the truth is
Baltimore is probably supposed to be thisin two years, not twenty twenty three,
in twenty twenty four, and alot of the rule adjustments benefited this
team. In Yankee fan, thereyou go. There's your excuse. Hey,
you guys change the rules when wewere good, and now other teams
are taking advantage of it. Sorry, I told you. I love Rob

(22:19):
Manford's my dear dear friend. Well, I but the Yankees are playing fine
with these rules against everybody else.So I think it's a little bit of
both. I think you guys arecud and the Yankees are playing pretty poorly
at the moment, Like, atleast at the plate, they're poor.
Maybe the thirty, maybe they theypulled something, scoring thirty against Milwaukee in

(22:41):
two games. There's something up.It's not perfect. I don't love it.
Hopefully they break out, come backand tie this little you know,
you know, little four game serieshere down two so far on the season
to the dreaded Orioles. Go figure, but hopefully come back take two of
these things and uh and tied itup and be done with it, because

(23:02):
that's I don't want. I don'twant you hitting it four like, don't.
I don't need you having a goodlead early. I don't I don't
need to deal with that at all. Oh, now, wondering the question
you gave me before about is itmore about Baltimore being in a better spot
or Baltimore I'm playing New York orNew York playing poorly? And then you
followed it up with that take.Is there concern? I think it's slight,

(23:23):
But is there concern? I don'tthink it's just Baltimore versus New York.
I think you might have just tippedyour hand. You're there to tell
me, do you think there's alittle bit more concern of Yankees versus young
teams like Baltimore versus New York,Baltimore versus bal Baltimore versus Cleveland. Okay,
no, no, no, you'remiss My biggest concern is New York
versus New York. And I don'tmean the Mats. Like I think there's

(23:45):
something because we like you can youkeep talking about the Yankees like they're one
hundred years old. The majority ofthis team are very young players, you
know, and and or new tothe Yankees in some way, shape or
form. So so like I seethem grind, I see them play well,
but they're also a little streaky, they're a little emotional. The only

(24:06):
reason I'm not complaining about runners inthe scoring position right now they were zero
for one with runs in scoring position, by the way, is because you
didn't get runners in scoring positions enoughlast night. Like that's usually my complaint.
Like there's something about when this Yankeesteam is clicking, you know,
they're getting four, five, sixhits with runners on second base for better
this right now, they're not doingthat, and I think it's I think

(24:29):
it's in their head. I thinkthey're young. I think I think when
they go out there against you know, a good team like the Oriols is
going to make you work for it. Sometimes you get lost in your own
head and you make some mistakes, and that's why things happen. Right now,
I don't like that answer as muchas what I was hoping for,
that your fearing would could potentially bethe future of Baltimore and that New York
might have more obstacles on the way. I was hoping it's gonna be a

(24:49):
little bit more panic just for mypersonal amusement. Never a mistake. I
am extremely scared of Baltimore, especiallyafter dark. It's a very weird city.
The day, it's beautiful. Atnight, it's almost like something out
of like I am legend. Sono, I do, I do fear
Baltimore. Not the Orioles, notthe Ravens, but the actual city itself.

(25:11):
Yes, that plus the musical Hairspraywhen John Travalta was that little girl's
grandma on that that was also abit frightening to see John Travolta. That
was very frightening. Yeah, No, that was I didn't was that in
Baltimore. Why would I believe so? Is that I believe I believe the
Hair Spray musical was based in Baltimore. You remember the opening song, good
Morning Baltimore. Remember that, No, is hair Spray not based in Baltimore.

(25:34):
That's gotta be. You remember JohnTravolta dressed as a grandma. I
do, I vaguely do. I'mjust you're clearly far more into musicals.
Oh that's than I. You tookthe Wire example that I think was more
popular. Is there any other showsbased in Baltimore that you and I don't
know about? I mean, I'msure, but I like it was based

(25:55):
in Baltimore. I was exactly right. Take that Baltimore. Yeah, go,
you know more about musicals than me. That's I mean, look good
for you, you Hamilton Hairspray.I didn't know you were in the music.
Are you? Were you a theaterhe growing up? No, it's
not. I had a wager onceabout me dressing up as a character from
Cats if Trevor Lawrence came back toClemson that one year. I'm very cultured,

(26:17):
Like are you? Are you?Is that like with that like a
bone of contention between you and dadis that you had to play football instead
of learning this singing war leotard.Isn't it oz and American pie? Not
goz No? I was, yeah, no, it's not no. Come
on, dad, let me beme. Yeah, let me sing.
Dad. Got so much in here, I want to share it with the

(26:40):
world. See here's the problem.I'm I would consider myself well rounded,
cultured. You, you and Iboth enjoy a solid trivia night. I'm
hearing some rumors. I've heard somedirty rumors today involving my co host that
I think we need to be figuredout right now. We will get back
to the Oris and Yankees maybe,But there's a dirty rumor flying around about
my host Levac today that I wantanswers on. Are you ready? Yeah?

(27:03):
Next week is the second annual CelebrityCelebrity Birthday Game thanks to Bergerfi on
our sister station ninety nine to fiveThe River. We've got great events coming
up. The next week. We'vegot tomorrow's WGY Radio Thion, which we
hope you can listen to Thursday andFriday up until eleven am, sorry at
six, and then the next weekwe have the Birthday Game. You were

(27:25):
a part of the game last timewe played. There are rumors floating around
that you will not be a partof this year's event. What is going
on? Did you talk to Kevinand Tracy? I know you've got kickoff.
I know you got a lot goingon. Have you resigned from the
tournament? I talked to Tracy.I did. I had a conversation.
Listen, There's how do I putthis that you'll understand. There's a there's

(27:49):
a price to my time. Mytime is very valuable. Like I'm a
team president, I'm a one anda half of the number one sports talk
show in the Capitol region. II you know, I wake up and
I and I whiz excellence. Ican't just keep giving it away, you

(28:11):
know, like like when I goto Picks, they like they'll they'll they'll
make me a coffee like or something. You know. Ei, there's there's
a little meakopa, there's there's Ifeel respected, you know with the celebrity
birthday game on the on the River. I I don't know what more I
have to gain from it. I'veI've annihilated you, I've beat Tracy.
I just don't know what more Ihave to gain. So I think if

(28:33):
I'm gonna go there, a littlesun pretty effort. You know, a
couple of bucks I think would bethe way to go, and uh,
they allegedly don't have a budget forthat right now. So I'm gonna focus
on the things that do pay me, like running a football team and belfour,
property restoration and you know, sometimesbeing your friend. Those things pay
me. The river does not.So I'm I'm sorry, but I just

(28:56):
I need to I need to focuson on what makes the most sense for
me. This is very much likeShockingly, I'm gonna compare this to professional
wrestling. This feels like Maxwell JacobFriedman versus Tony Kahan and ae W.
Levac has been called the ultimate heelin the villain you and the Great Jack
Lampson, who has confirmed his attendancefor next week, that you guys have

(29:17):
become the bad guy. This iswhat MGF did to ae W. He
said, Tony, I'm not comingback until my demands are met. So
you have resigned from the tournament. That means I'm by myself out there.
That means it's me Jack Lampson.I believe Ryan Spencer, who's a big
TV guy, the Great Chris Ottorado, the defending champions in it, Kevin
Cleveland and Allen Green are gonna teamup and the wonderful Julia Dunn, who

(29:41):
I heard is very competitive. Ithink she played college hockey. She's on
CBSIX. So we have some peopleacross the world. So nolavak okay confirmed.
So there are presidents. I mean, like in all sincerity, like
you know, there's only one presidentthat was gonna be in it. And
again, I just I had to, you know, I had to prioritize.
I just every once in a while, you gotta. I have to

(30:03):
focus on what we're doing here, you know what I mean. There's some
there's some greatness happening here at theMVP Arena, and I have to focus
on it. Guys. I can'tjust I can't just sit around and guest
birthdays with you because you want meto. I you know, I wish,
I wish. I wish I hadthe free time you have running around
with a couple of toddlers. Youknow, I wish that was the deal.
But I just you know, look, I really don't like with the

(30:23):
exception. Like if they could haveguaranteed me honorado as an opponent somebody I
know can really beat me, Imight have taken I might have come in
just for competitiveness. But the restof you guys like, come on,
he's you know, he's a robot. This is he. This is the
title shot. So even if wetell we do Burger Fi, so it
looks like Levac not a part ofthe river with Kevin already. Yeah,

(30:45):
I know if I go with theBurger Fi right now, I could have
a burger with Kevin right now andhe won't make me jump through hoops.
I'm a little dancing monkey boy.You want me to jump through hoops?
No, friend, you didn't payyour salary over here, you know that,
right. Even though the beck isnot a part of the Celebrity Celebrity
verth the game next week, Iwould still recommend listening to it and then

(31:07):
also listening to WGY five point thirtyto eleven Thursday and Friday to be a
part of the great radio fond thankingall the great people that are making that
event possible. Already made some greatthings. So there's your Tommy Corporate.
iHeartMedia plugs for our sister station. All right, I recommend you listen to
Picks one of six tomorrow morning ateight twenty, where I'll be on there.
Thanks to the integrated Sleep Center.I recommend that you make sure you

(31:30):
get to the MVP Arena tomorrow nighteight o'clock we host the Nashville Cats.
My understanding is Jeff Fisher might bean attendant. WHOA, so I think
you should do those things. There'smy plugs. You want to be Jeff
Fisher, become best friends. Haveyou thought about that yet? Jeff Fisher

(31:53):
would not tolerate you're nonsense. I'mthe only Jeff that tholerate you're nonsense.
That's it? All right about elevationten thousand, then yes, all right,
don't want to be today with elevationten thousand. That's listen. I
was talking to David McLeod. He'sthe president too, you know what I
mean. We have a President's club. We get together, we talk about
these things. He said he mightbe willing to do this celebrity birthday game,

(32:15):
but he's very busy as well.Elevate your brand today, whether it
be web design, think about it. When somebody comes looking for your business,
the first place they go, makesure it's a good place. Uh,
whether it be advertising in every way, shape or form, signs,
print shop, whatever. Guys, are you wearing something from elevation today.

(32:36):
You probably are not even gonna admitit, like all the time I am.
I'm jack ted to toe elevation, man, that's where I'm rocking.
Going through there tomorrow to get stufffor the UH, for the fans here
at the MVP Arena, I'll bethere grabbing it coming back. It's just
that's my joint, that's my place. They're my partners. They've been so
good to me and everyone else Iknow who have reached out. You can

(32:58):
elevate your brand today with Elevation tenthousand gas. Anything you want to add
to that, mister gaz No,I think that's pretty good. It's We've
done a pretty good show today. Some of it's been solo, some of
it's been together. But there arethings we've missed and one includes a Baseball
All Star that's gonna miss some timeand a few other things in the dump
to close out this Wednesday. AdditionalLevakan Goz that's the next Fox Sports Radio

(33:22):
ninety five, nine and nine eighty. It's Lovakan gaz On the voice of
the Capitol Regions Sports Fan Fox Sportsninety five nine and nine eighty time.
Take well, I'm sorry, Ishouldn't say it that way because that probably
gives the trouble sign Ford that dump. Thank you. Yeah, I know
right. Even my corporate censor wentoff on that one where everything that doesn't

(33:45):
make the show slides down to thislast segment and we try to wrap it
fire and get through as much aswe can. Gaz, you look like
you're holding one back. You gota little turtle head actually going on.
Yeah, I guess that's a MikeTrout issue for me here. And I
don't know what has happened since thestart of the twenty twenty four season.
I don't know if it's Trout hittinghome runs. I don't know if it's

(34:07):
just I want the Angels to winto confuse us all in baseball. But
the Angels lost the game seven tofive yesterday, and I started wondering more
and more about Mike Trout and Isaw this stat passed along. Mike Trout
has seven years in two hundred andforty eight million dollars remaining on his twelve

(34:27):
year contract with the Angels. Hehas fifteen playoff plate appearances. All of
those came in the year twenty fourteen. He's been in a league since twenty
eleven. Well, in fact, this is like the history the legacy of
Mike Trout. It's almost as iflike he's become underrated, not because he

(34:50):
plays on the West Coast, butbecause I'm trying to think of athletes in
my lifetime that were so good thatnever won ever, Like Earnie Banks is
the one that jumps out to me, and Ernie Banks is way too long.
I'm sure there's an older sport ehCash, Erny Banks Pennant and that
dude fifty. Maybe Ernie Banks didwith a pennant. Ken Griffey Junior had
the magical run there with when hewas younger with the Mariners. Barry Bondce

(35:14):
got to a World Series with theGiants. Archie Manning, Don Matting Lee,
Archie Manning Senior, I have tocall him now, Uh he was
with the Aints, but those areway out of my lifetime. I'm pretty
sure it's Mike Trout. Mike Troutand Mike Trott is the best athletes that
never won doing this. Do thosenumbers first jump out to you that it's

(35:35):
seven and a quarter of a billiondollars still left for Trout? The sevens
make because how how old is MikeTrout right, now do we even?
I mean, I know it feelslike he's been around forever, but I
that's that's also because of the ofthe war that I used to have with
Buster. Only thirty two. Okay, so thirty two is not not that

(35:59):
old. We'll turn third three inAugust. Yeah, yeah, wrong side
of thirty obviously, but not notold old. But to you know,
Tormaniscus, he's out again. It'sI think it's all the weight of carrying
the Angels entire franchise on your backfor all those years, like he's had

(36:20):
them. They've been he wasn't yousedlike. It's the most typical stat line
ever. Mike Trout hits like multiplehome runs and the the Angel still lose
like he's been carrying that franchise somuch. The stress he probably carries from
just I have to be great erbecause we can't win unless I go out
there and hit for four forty forthe season, like it's gotta be.

(36:45):
It's just got to wear on you. It's got to break you down,
and it looks like he's breaking downseven years. So thirty nine, his
contract ends, well forty, they'llstill be playing while he's forty if that
contract goes to fruition, how muchHere's what I want to know, Guys,
find some statistician to tell me howmuch money Trout has made from the
Angels and how much he's money madefrom insurance while he's been on the high

(37:08):
l Can I also add in thesubway commercials how much he's made there or
how much he's lost by being ona terrible team, and then factoring in
what the Angels could have been franchised, like this sounds really silly, but
maybe it won't sound silly ten orfifteen years now. He is one of
the athletes. I kind of wishGod a percentage of the franchise. He's

(37:28):
so important to the Angels. Ifthey said, you know what, Mike
Trout, you get one percent ofthe Angels. Okay, So yeah,
he could have lost a lot ofmoney. He could have made a lot
of money. There's a lot that'shappened there. And this point has never
gone away because it felt like itwas going to happen this offseason and even
last summer that Mike Trout was goingto be traded didn't happen, and now
he's sitting there rotting again. Youand I felt like Alonzo was the most

(37:52):
likely name to be talked about inJune, July, and August. It
might happen again, like the troutthing is, as you mentioned, the
wrong side of thirty he's heading towardsbut thirty three. Nonetheless that how long
is this going to go on?For it like do the angel if they
start this actually suck, which itnever wanted to have happened this year,
what's the point? Like you gotto get something for the future. You've

(38:13):
done everything you can for thirteen yearswith this guy and still doesn't work well.
And it Wow, I feel likeyou've you've turned. I feel like
I don't. I don't like theway you're saying it. I feel like
he's done everything for them and theyhaven't somehow been able to put it around
him. But he's always in there. I mean, he's once he got
three so he's got the he's gotRookie of the Year, he's got three

(38:35):
MVPs, he's he's All MLB FirstTeam three times. I don't think he's
I don't think he's played any seasonwhere he's played more than half. I
think he's a silver slugger. He'sgot the Hank Aaron Award twice. He's
set to make four hundred and eightymillion dollars just salary over his career.
But I think he's given them everythingand they have yet to find a way

(38:58):
to put a winning team around. And that's the problem with that is that,
to me, it feels like theydid try to add a winning team
around him. They added Albert poolHosts, he was good, He's going
to Hall of Fame. Didn't resultin his enough wins that they had hoped
for. That added Anthony Rendon. They didn't realize that Anthony Rendon hates baseball
when they added him. It didn'twork out. They still haven't won games.

(39:19):
Josh Hamilton's in that mix, orJosh Hamilton came off that season with
the Rangers where it seemed like he'shealthy, he's going to be an MVP,
He's got a lot. They signedHamilton. He only lasted two years
for the Angels. So that's eventhe most frustrating part. They tried it.
You know the Hamilton deal, right, What do you mean you can't
take Hamilton away from his handlers.Yeah, because if you let him get

(39:44):
too far away, he loses controland basically everything we saw happen happens he
you know, the drinking and thepartying, the neglective of himself and the
team. And that's not me makingstuff up. That's that stuff I've been
told in confidence and that stuff thatwe've seen play out, you know on

(40:04):
TMZ. So they you know, but again that's not I don't blame them.
They tried. They brought in aguy that was you know, hot
his pistol and put him around him. But it's like, there's got to
be a point where you do itdifferent. And he's never been the problem,
like Mike Trout has never ever been, at least in my humble opinion,

(40:25):
He's never been the issue for theAngels. The Angels have been the
issue around Mike Trout. Also,I probably should have mentioned this part,
and shame on me for going sevenand a half minutes into this. The
reason I brought up Trout is thathe does need surgery. I hope sorry
for burying the headline that, yes, my fault he's suffered at tormentiscus.

(40:47):
He requires surgery. Timetable for hisreturn is up in the air. Like
I went so quickly into, likethe money and the contract and the trade
and everything else. Probably should havebrought up why he's doing that. Surgery
could happen as soon as this week. No timetable for his return, So
that's the problem. He's hurt again. And that's what I'm saying, Like
I would love because you think aboutthis, right, we talked about all

(41:09):
the money that the Angels have spentright when he's on the il. They
have insurance for that. I thinkit's up to eighty percent of what he's
owed is paid by their insurance aftera certain period of time. So of
that, what will be four hundredand eighty million dollars that he will make
over the course of his career, what is insurants paid one hundred two hundred?

(41:32):
Like what are they? Because he'sit's like, you still got that
money, you can spend that money, it's still there. It doesn't go
away. You get it back throughinsurance as the Yankees haw. But Jacobe
Elsbury's deal was paid both paid forthat way. That's why I think they
were willing to pay him to goaway. Yeah, man, I feel
like we got robbed sometimes as baseballfans and we didn't get more of Trout

(41:54):
And he's gonna be viewed as thatin his career of what could have been.
How we it. I know there'sa little East Coast bias there,
but it even feels like there's moreand more with that Trout conversation. One
other thing for the dumplevaccause, whenthis originally happened, the timetable in the
social media side of it, wewere like, we think this is true.

(42:15):
We don't know if it's true.Oh, it's definitely true. That
was the trade of Zach Wilson tothe Denver Broncos. We are not going
to miss a Denver Broncos Zach Wilson'sstory again this time. No, we're
getting it. The Broncos have decidednot to pick up the option on Zack
Wilson's rookie deal. Remember that fifthyear option, twenty twenty five season option

(42:37):
would have guaranteed Zach Wilson twenty twopoint four million dollars if they decided to
pick up that option. Remember firstround picks that fifth year option that would
have happened, Levac. Are yousurprised that Denver said no to year five
for Zack Wilson. No, Ithink it kind of it kind of lets
you know where we're at right, like he's we're watching this, what do

(43:00):
they see in Zach Wilson? Theystill went and got though Nicks. I
think what you're seeing right here isa Zach. You can pick your path.
Like, if you blow us outof the water, and you're a
starting quarterback, well you can startingquarterback salary, you'll get paid. But
if you're a backup quarterback, we'renot paying you starting quarterback money. So
you have a year. Get inhere, handle this stuff, do the

(43:21):
right thing you can. You candecide your own path. But yeah,
no, that makes sense. Whytie yourself to that deal if you don't
have to. I think some peoplewere gonna laugh at that, of like,
uh, guys, why did youeven ask that question? Of course,
they're not going to pick up theoption. Why in the world would
they. Well, there had beenrumors that potentially Dallas is going to do

(43:43):
something weird with Trey Lance's contract. This goes back to the fall of twenty
twenty three, that Trey Lance isgonna get cut by San Francisco and then
they dealt them to Dallas, andDallas is going to rework his contract and
make it seem lighter and maybe extendhim more. Now they have also denied
his option, so the contract planneda new fifth year option value. Let

(44:07):
me let me phrase it like that. So even asking the quest Zach Wilson,
I don't think is unfair because youtraded for a guy. It's odd
to say we're gonna trade for somebodywho's gonna be a backup and we won't
bring him back. Then you reallygot no value out of him. If
he never comes off the bench andit's bone Nicks as your starter, Sidim
as your starter, then you canreally wonder, like, hang on a
second, we gave away a pickfor a third stringer and we've already said

(44:29):
he's not coming back for that numberin twenty twenty five. What was the
plan again? Why did they so? Even though he's awful for the Jets,
the setup for the future is interestingfor dinner. I'm not surprised,
but I think it's a fair questionof did Denver really consider doing it?
Uh? I think listen, you, I think it's a lottery ticket,

(44:51):
right you. You know you're gonnapay a little bit for it up front,
and you're gonna scratch it off andit's either gonna pay out or you're
gonna rip it up and throw itin the garbage. He's He's a lottery
ticket and that's all he is.And you know, if bow Knicks doesn't
work out or Jared Stidham flames out, you've got him there. He's a
fresh start. See how it goes. Does he become that weird you know,

(45:15):
Swiss army knife that we all knowSean Payton liked so much. That's
a possibility too. I don't hatewhat they did. I think they were
smart to grab him. You gothim relatively cheap, you know, for
what the Jets had to give upto get him in the first place.
You didn't really do anything. Socool thing, decent thing. You move
on from it if you have to. But now you're in a position where

(45:37):
all the choices of yours. Oneother thing dawned on me talking about Zach
Wilson Trey Lance contracts, what youdo with the future. It feels like
a very long time ago, andit's really not that the world that the
world was consented right, The worldwas consumed by Dak Prescott contract talk.
And he finally signed a contract intwenty twenty one. In that contract was

(45:59):
for four years and undred and sixtymillion. We have now hit the point
where Dak at Cowboy fan knows this. We talked about this during a draftre
camp on Monday, that this isthe final year of Dak's contract, which
makes me now fatigue and think,oh god, are you telling me this
summer on National Talk and on allthe talking head shows. You're gonna give
me a summer of Lebron James's freeagency retirement tour and Dak Prescott contract talk.

(46:24):
No, no, why would youdo that to me? When's the
last time you've heard the Big Swagotalk about Dak Prescott Because I got to
catch some of it yesterday. He'salready talking about where's going next? Oh
my gosh. He has them headeddirectly to the desert. He hasn't gonna

(46:44):
want to be in the quarterback forthe Las Vegas Raiders. WHOA. She
just says if I was the Raiders, I would be talking to him through
channels right now. That actually catchesme off guard a little, because that
doesn't make a lot of sense.Dallas is gonna write it out. D
Alas will ride out the Dak Prescottcontrac because they think they can win a
Super Bowl this season. He's notgonna get dealt. Nothing like that's gonna

(47:05):
happen. Vegas would have to rideout their quarterback situation to figure out the
right price for what Dak does aftertwenty twenty four. It does make a
lot of sense. It also makessense why your Raiders didn't bring in a
young quarterback in the draft. Iknow a lot of movement happened above them
that could be really well. I'mjust fatigued that those are the most go
to storylines of three and a halfyears ago, when sports of Lebron talk

(47:27):
about retirement and Dak Prescott and herewe are in May of twenty twenty four,
and the world is reset itself andwe're getting ready for a summer of
Lebron and a summer of Dak again. Yeah, I mean it's listen,
everything old is new again. Lebron, Dak, who else. I mean,
there's gonna be more, you know, it's just just the way it
goes. Who's who's our baseball guy? That's gonna it's gonna really start popping

(47:50):
at a well, Sodo. We'llhave a little more Sodo action probably.
It'll be fun. It's gonna bea good time, guys. You enjoy
it. Okay, what's kind.Everybody wants his money. You know,
let's go. Let's get out ofhere, all right. I gotta know.
I'm gonna walk you over at SentaStreet Pub. Yes, enjoy Flock
