could make a case they had allme be at least once, and West
Texas fan can argue maybe twice sobecause they lost to the best team in
heartbreaking fashion twice. Yet there's stilla playoff contender that's worthy of getting fired
for. It seems confusing to me. I would think there might be a
dust up with ownership or management orpricing or something with the locker room.

it at least safe to say theremight be something else besides the actual coaching

obviously Aubany's not. If I wasdoing my power rankings right now,
Albany's number one, Orlando or WestTexas I still have fighting for number two
even with their records. Then it'sthen it's Billings than Nashville or Natural than
Billings, pending up on how youwant to look at it, and then
it's everybody else, Like it's everybodyelse. So you've got this super strong

team that you built, it's it'sa really well built team, it's a
well coached team, but you losetwo to Albaney that you you feel like
you should have won, And thenI don't feel like sick Freed did himself,
and he favors after that first losswhere he publicly stated that he didn't
know there was a four point conversion, like you don't want your head coach

to not know the rules, andand I like, you know, listen,
he's an honest guy. He's We'vehad our differences in the past,
but I hate seeing him get fired. But uh, if you know,
if that one hundred percent is thecase, yeah you get fired. But

go out and say, oh,man, I was unprepared for that game.

I'm hearing, if the playoffs startedtoday, West Texas is definitively on the
outside looking at it. Do weknow if he's also the general manager of
the team. And I asked thatquestion because if a new GM and a
new head coaches hired mid season,which is very rare in professional sports,
but that's going to have to happen, someone's either going to take the interim

tag or someone's gonna take the intermGM tag. I would assume, Okay,
West Texas has decided they want togo in a different direction. They
obviously have two pass to go.One, continue to compete for a championship,
which is the rare side of whata coach gets fired because usually record
wise a team is no longer competitive, not the case here for West Texas.
And Two, if you have acoach who has its own style of

off it's a defense they want tobring in their own style of player.
I think you see where I'm goingwith this. If they hire somebody to
replace both of those roles, wouldn'tthis team be the most likely team active
at the deadline or trading players ormoving rosters. Is he the GM?
I guess they should go back tothat question. Do we know if he
was the decision maker on the team. I don't think he had the title
of GM, But based on thetalent that was on the team, I

would say he had a lot tosay about it. Yeah, there are
a lot of guys that he knewwell. And again, talent, why
the team is right there? Likeit's right there, Like I mean,
obviously we had to pull off twomiracles to beat their butts, like you

guys in the coaching staff through ourguys, but like no, I don't.

the same because you believe what youhave. But it's it'll it remains me

seen. But the it's we.We are going through a gauntlet this season
of who we're playing and when we'replaying them. So if you told me
that we because these other teams areavoiding us at all costs, we are

able to keep the West Texas,Nashville, maybe even the Orlandos of the
world out of the postseason. Okay, I'll do my playoffs now, because
that's basically what we're doing. Ifyou look at if you look at the
Firebirds schedule, almost every game isa playoff game, almost every single game.
We've had one game that we wouldhave been favored by probably thirty five

points and we covered it. Everyother game has been has been a playoff
game. Depending how this lays outhere just going through the schedule, and
I know it's a little different combinationwith some teams playing more games than other
teams. How I see the playoffsplaying out would be this, Let Orlando
and Albody play this weekend. Albany'sundefeated. If they lose this game,

we'll just play this set. Okay, Albody somehow gets upset by Orlanta,
which was a great game to startoff the season, they'd have one loss
and they have the ability, rightand the Billions Outlaws have one loss at
this point. That would set upa June twenty second game in Montanne that
you would assume the winner of thatgame would win the regular season. Because

if Billions wins their next game andthey have one loss going into the final
game, and Albany has one lossgoing into that game, then the winner
of that game would have the tiebreaker. They'd go on to the final week,
and even if both teams lost,Billions would have the tiebreaker over Albany.
With two losses, they'd be thenumber one seed. Again, that's
assuming a lot happened. They'd assumeAlbody would lose their last three games and
everything else. But you could alsohave a scenario where Albany wins, Billions

wins, and then Billions and Albodyplay each other in Montana on the twenty
second, the Outlaws win and they'dboth have one loss, and then they'd
still have the advantage. Now I'msaying all these things out loud, assuming
that's how the playoff scenario would go, team with the best record would host
that have a home playoff game,they potentially could face off again in the
Arena Football League Championship? Am Imaking too many presumptions here about how the

playoff format would be and where thegames would be in, how seeding would
go, or is I'm hearing whatI'm hearing right now? This is and
this is not one hundred percent guarantee. But if you look on the THEAFL
dot com you'll see this Five wouldplay four for the right to play one.
One would then the following weekend hostfour. Two would host three,

and then the championship game would bebetween the two winners. That's what I'm
hearing. So five teams would havethe chance to play after the season one,
you know, four place five todecide who gets to play one hang
out hang out hang on four plays, So five teams that make the postseason
four to play five winner would playone two versus three, and then the
championship would be the winner of thosefinal two games. Okay, okay,

So that means there would be abye week for the first three seeds,
the top three seeds. Yeah,they would all get by weeks. So
two and three would be sitting thereand knowing they're playing each other, preparing
for each other the whole time.One actually, if you think about it,
doesn't have as much of an advantageas two because one is now waiting

to see who they're gonna play.But then if we to get ready for
him, and that team didn't haveto play an extra game. So but
either way, again, I don'tknow how it's gonna shake out. I
don't obviously, But if the seasonended today, we would be the one
seed, Billings would be the twoseed, so Line would be the three
seed, and then Orlando would playSouthwest Kansas to decide who would get the

host playoff games, not championship game. Championship game is still up in the

is the status of Malie Henry Uh, a quarterback who could potentially be the
starter for the Firebirds. For thosewho didn't catch the news last week,
these last I saw because of certainthings. We we actually have room for
all three on a roster at thismoment, and they'll compete. That's that's

been playing a gauntlet, like wehave not had an easy week. We
really haven't. Even the Southwest Kansasgame. People got beat up. We

the way I understand it, Butas of right now, we have room
for three. So we're gonna enjoythe luxury of having three quarterbacks on the

So the undefeated league leaning al ManyFirebirds will potentially have a quarterback change

with Jake Medlock, deal with someinjuries and more. The playoffs seem to
be five seeds. That was ahuge win for West Texas, who you
could argue has been one of themost competitive teams against the Firebirds and almost
pulled off a come from behind upstfired their head coach. Did I miss
anything that we need to talk about? I feel like I had covered up
just about everything well for the league, for the league and the Firebirds.

I mean that's a lot of storylinescoming out of a mid season game.
Team coaches fired, playoffs, neutralsites, quarterbacks changing, maybe not changing,
maybe not changing. How about theleague itself? Jerry Kurz is now
the senior advisor two league Player OperationsGeneral Counsel's a. He was a stalwart

back in the glory days of theAFL, and now Gary Compton is the
director of football Operations. He andI had a nice conversation on Friday.
We're gonna work together. He's gonnabe the leader and I'm gonna help wherever
I can. And then we justfound out that Tracy Leaning is the President
of Football Administration. So the frontoffice finally coming together. We got people

kind of actually have a league office. Something I'm new to me. You
know, you said, the poorguy who got canned down in West Texas
was the entire league office for meback in the day. So it's kind
of neat, kind of neat seeingit come together and flesh out and look
a little more a little stable.Titles are weird Sometimes I don't know what
they mean, and I honestly,I'm not trying to be mean about that

guy's position. I don't know whatthat means which one general counsel. Like
when I hear that, I thought, like that's a lawyer. Yeah,
okay, no, but I thinkno, I think it's basically he's gonna
he advises Jeff Fisher and the leagueon what to do and went on to
do like like he's seen it.He's seen almost everything, because again he
was he was a huge part ofthe original AFL. So what he's what
