(00:00):
It's Lavak and Guz on ninety fiveto nine Fox Sports Radio. We are
joined by the head coach of theAlbani Firebers, the general manager of the
Albany Firewards, the man the mythlegend, Damon Ware, and coach.
I think I finally got in thebottom of what went wrong Saturday night.
God skipped the game. Is thatthere was a comfort level that was lost

(00:21):
and he is fully to blamed forus going seven to one instead of eight.
And now what do you think?I think so, yes, God's
light and that just didn't cut it. See thanks a lot of guys.
You know what, I don't knowwhether to take that as an insult or
compliment. I'm not sure. I'llfigure it out, probably later this week.
But for those who may have missedthe game, and I guess that's

(00:42):
not no, that's not I see. I saw the joke coming, I
saw it happening. This Orlando team, coach, it's just really talented both
sides of the football. It's trulyone of the best rosters. And you
guys have seen this matchup a fewtimes. This is just a predator team
that was really on top of itsgame and had a really good performance inside
arena. Yeah, Orlando's a greatfootball team. I knew with their roster

(01:06):
they were going to be tough thisyear. I definitely thought, uh,
you know, after we played thefirst couple of games that definitely Orlando was
was the second best team in theleague. And they came and then played
us hard. But you know, just late in the season right now,
it's, uh, the name ofgame is really just trying to stay healthy.
And we've had one brutal schedule andplayed every game we played, it's

(01:29):
been a real hard fought game. And so this is that time of year
where you know, help can catchin. So we had our our secondary
all had you know, some typeof you know injury and lower body injury,
and that just kind of hurt us. And so ended up playing receivers
at defensive backs and you know nowthat we're not doing iron man, that's

(01:49):
not necessary and so those are toughthings. And our receivers don't play a
bunch of defensive back at practice, and so you know, health caught up
with us with us a little bit, and uh, you know, this
week's been all about getting healthy andgetting ready for Billings. Well, if
only two games remaining on the regularseason schedule and the playoffs just around the
corner. Does it affect anyway youcoach these final two games of the regular

(02:10):
season. Will it affect the gameplan at all? Not really. You
know, we obviously want to goget a winning Billings that will secure us
getting a home playoff game, andobviously that's the most important thing. So
we're going to coach as hard aswe can to get the final victory so

(02:31):
we can get a home Saturday gameon July thirteenth. That's obviously the most
important thing to the franchise. Andfrom there we'll decide, you know,
what we need to do just tostay healthy and execute good football going down
the stretch. But first things first, we need to take care of Billings
this weekend and Clint a couple ofthings, and then we can go from

(02:52):
there. Coach, there's a rumorout there that you and some guy who
says next year on Wednesday nights havebeen providing a little bit of blulton board
material for the league. Potentially SteveTitus, the owner of Billings, may
have told me, uh, he'sexcited for the game to quote see whether
or not they're just a product ofa week schedule. Does that worry you

(03:13):
at all that these guys have thisbullet and again, I know when you
speak, you speak from like thisis this is exactly what I see.
Analytically speaking, I may be alittle different. Does it worry you that
we hand out bulletin board material withouteven trying? I mean, if you
need bulletin board material to beat us, then then you're not the team I
thought you were. And I'm nottoo worried about those things. I'm a

(03:35):
I'm a straight shooter, and I'mgonna say it how it is. And
uh, I've said it, youknow, for weeks, and we've played
a very brutal schedule. We've youknow, lined up every opponent they put
in front of us, and andyou know, we knew early on we
had, you know, a verytough schedule. After the changes, Uh,
you know that occurred obviously in thefirst couple of weeks. We just

(03:57):
kept getting more and more tough teamsto play. And you know, I
just, like I said, I'mgonna keep it straight. You know,
I don't care who who's offended byit. It's not meant to be offensive.
It's just meant to be the truth, you know, there's there's several
teams that are in playoff hunts thatjust haven't played very many of the upper
level of the league. And Ijust think that that's a you know,

(04:17):
it's a tough situation. So,uh for me, when we're talking about,
you know, the All AFL team, when we're talking about into the
season awards, if you've played allthe hard teams all year, and some
teams have played all of the thelow level teams of the league all year,

(04:38):
that will keew statistics. And youknow, all I'm trying to do
is make it fair for our guys. You know, I believe in the
guys that we recruited. I believedin what they've done all year. Uh,
one loss doesn't define anything. It'sit's a tough schedule full of a
bunch of physical teams. But youknow, it is frustrating when you look
at some of the other records andand they're not far behind best, but

(05:00):
they've played only you know, oneor two games against the upper half of
the league. And I just thinkthat that's a that's an awkward situation.
I mean, obviously, you know, you can play in the NFL and
play in a weaker conference, However, you still get more than you know,
one or two quality opponents on yourschedule, and so you know,
we're no different. You know,I take everything that I can to use

(05:26):
analytically and figure out what I needto do for our football team, and
just going through everybody's schedule, wh'syou know, it is a bit disappointing
when I go through everyone's schedules andjust kind of see, you know,
their wins and losses, and it'sit's a bit frustrating because we'd love to
have some of those lower level teams, you know, come to the Capital
Region or US go to bear andand games where we can know that we're

(05:48):
going to play our young guys andyou know, get our backup quarterbacks and
work. And so we just don'twant to you know, records or statistics
to be skewed due to schedule. So I'm gonna stand packed on that.
You know, Uh, you know, the league can can call and talk
to me about it at any time, and you know, I'm just going

(06:08):
to keep pushing for our guys andand keep pushing for fairness of schedule and
league and all those things. Ultimately, we just want to compete for a
championship, and I think we've representedthe AFLU to the utmost respect of the
league and professionalism, and so I'mgoing to keep riding for our guys to
the bitter v Only guy who knewthere was a four point conversion the vote.

(06:30):
My vote for Coach of the YearFirebars head coach Damian Where well the
guys right here Fox Sports Radio. It was about four and a half years
ago the Campelt Regions. Sports fansmight remember when another team, the U
Albany football team, traveled out toMontana to take on Montana State. Now
that game was played in Bozeman,Montana. Now four and a half years
later, you guys are heading toBillions, Montana, about two hours difference
between the cities. Coach, foryou and your players, is this the

(06:53):
first time everybody on staff and onthe roster has ever played in Montana?
No, Like I said, Iwas in the other other side of indoor
football, and Billing's Outlaw was areally good football team back in the early
two thousands and up till about Iwant to say, maybe two thousand and
eight to twenty ten, somewhere inthat range. So in my time in

(07:15):
the other league, I played inBillings several times, so just bring back
some memories. It's been a longtime since the early two thousands since I've
been there. But it's a businesstrip. I'm not there to, you
know, to see Kevin Kostner andthe bulls running wild. I'm there to
win a football game, so it'llbe business as usual. Get to the
hotel, go over film, haveour meetings, do all those things,

(07:39):
and so we won't get to seemuch of what the beauty of Montana might
be. We're there to try toget a win and get back home and
get ready for the playoffs. Isthere any chance that the Lovely nannywhere is
gonna let you wear your cowboy hatsome Montana? Sure? You know,
she finally gave me the reason whyshe does not like the cowboy at but

(08:01):
I'll save that for another I'll savethat for our podcast on Wednesdays. But
yeah, I might try to sneakit out and put it on for the
Montanne trip. We appreciate the teasthere for Flock University in future episodes,
which, by the way, quickplug we'll replace Saturday mornings on Fox Sports
ninety five nine to ninet eighty ifyou missed it this past week. It
airs on nine o'clock Saturday mornings.A coach, you mentioned this team and

(08:26):
everything that goes in with a roadtrip and everything. What makes this team
so strong we're talking about Billions thatthey've been a contender all season. Is
it a mix of offense? Isit a strong defense? What has made
this team one of the best teamsin the ANFL in twenty twenty four.
They got a good coaching staff,so very experienced coaches, and they've got
a quality roster. I mean,it's a it's a good football team across

(08:48):
the board. They do everything welloffense, defense and special teams, and
so we're definitely not taking them lightly. You know, if they if they
use what I say as both morematerial, Hey, we're gonna match intensity
with you when we get up thereand let's you know, make the best
team win. He is a coachwhere and I know you're getting ready to
get everything together to head out tomorrow. Two Billings appreciate you taking some time

(09:13):
with us as per usual and coachman just go kick some but we we
really appreciate everything, all the effortyou and the guys are putting in.
Absolutely, we just want to makesure we get a home playoff game so
we can you know, have onemore Saturday night with our fans and on
July thirteenth. So that's an importantfactor for us. And we're going to

(09:35):
go out and give everything that wegot and hopefully we come back with a
victory. And if Guy's back onthe broadcast, that's the big about the
home brought. What I mean, you didn't show up, you know,
so thank you, Coach, appreciateyou. All right, guys, we'll
talk to you soon. There goescoach Where. Man, what a good
dude he is. It's funny becauselike people do take some of the stuff

(09:56):
he says is like bulletin woar material, but it's literally like it's exactly what
he sees like He's not I willonce in a while like try to stir
the pot, like especially you knowthey're not here, but West Texas Zach
Bug and I have like that smacktalk relationship. The owner, so I

(10:16):
like said a lot of things hedidn't Where doesn't do it for that reason.
Where says, hey, that scheduleis not as far as our schedule
because it's not you know what Imean, Like, it's not it's not
meant to rile you up. It'sjust point out we've now played Orlando twice,
West Texas twice, Nashville twice,Southwest Kansas is the closest thing to

(10:37):
a quote easy game we had.For people who listen outside of the Campo
in the region market, if youlisten on the podcast sign, if you
listen on the iHeart app, weappreciate you. But what I've enjoyed so
much about arena football, the indoorfootball, the NAAL, the AFL for
the last six years is I appreciateall the great interviews and content because you

(10:58):
know how many coaches interviews, likewe just all coach there for about ten
minutes. There are a lot ofcoaching interviews. You're gonna get about three
to four minutes of okay stuff, stuff you can actually use on the air.
Leve Act did a coaches show yesterdayfor forty five minutes with a coach.
Some coaches don't want to do anyof that. It's been going on
like that for six years, wherewhether it's the players showing off their personality,
whether it's just being authentic, beingtrue, showing off their real personalities,

(11:22):
the arena football again, and Idon't know what it is. Maybe
it's because it's embraced by the league, Like you see a lot of guys
celebrate and dance and everything else thatwe want to see your personalities, we
want to cel tickets, we wantto know who you are. That stuff
isn't easy. So when coach, who's a pretty even killed dude, not
a yellinger screamer, not trying tomake headlines, just says this is the

(11:43):
way it is, I think thatstuff stands out and it's actually been a
help to the league for a longtime, and especially in twenty twenty four.
The the Arena football community has latchedonto this show. Now, yes,
we appreciate you guys right now.We love it. We love it.
So I got one of the guysfrom the league point out to me

(12:03):
some other some one of the Quoteinsiders tweet it out, So I guess
I and Arena Insider site was coineda new nickname, the Grim Reaper of
Arena Football League. Before I respond, I'll let you listen and help me
better understand. And it's a it'sa cut sound from this show. So
it was Anthony Carter. I meanI said it. I said it,

(12:26):
well Tuesday, Yeah, I don'tmind. I kind of want can you
read you know what? I knowwe don't have a lot of time.
I'm sorry, Mac, Can Iread the responses? I don't want them
to get the clicks? Yeah,I just I just think it's hysterio.
I'll stand by my point. Anthonyknows how he can reach it. I
just think it's hysterical, like youonly put up the negative. Infact,
what did I say? It waswrong? Right? Like if you want

(12:46):
to start being a little more downthe middle, fair and balanced, we
don't have to say these things. But we appreciate you listening, Anthony,
we do. We appreciate it,and please make sure that you like,
subscribe, download the backing guys.We we are climbing the charts of iHeart
podcasts thanks to the grim reapers likeyourself. We appreciate it. Man,

(13:11):
you're helping me at Tom Guys tO MG is easy. We could talk
in direct messages. It's nothing personal. I'm sure you're a nice guy.
I don't. I feel like he'svery negative. I don't just he's a
nice guy after you call him agrim reaper, I'm not there could be
personal and professional. I just saidprofessionally, I thought his stuff wasn't very
good. Guys, it's sitting there, grim Reaper shows up, listen professionally,

(13:33):
I think you suck, But butyou might be a No. I'm
saying to the grim Reaper, like, what do you get like, like
the actual grim Reaper shows up,you'd be like actual great professionally your job.
I just don't like what you do. But you know, as a
day to day person, what doyou really like? Let me look at
your face, Grim Reaper, sameoutfit, hundreds of years still with the

(13:54):
stick. Huh, couldn't upgrade.I watched and the White Family go through
like five masks. You're the samething. Oh, man, I love
I will say this. He postedthat, and like it looks like almost
nobody cared. Oh, there's likefourteen comments on there. I'm sorry.
I think he posted it more thanonce. Oh the old double text.

(14:16):
Yeah, oh it is what itis. Thank you for listening. No,
I don't know if it's coming offsarcastic. It's not supposed to be
sarcastic. I really appreciate people. If you like, if you like the
Arena Football League, if you likecoach wears conversations, maybe at some point
you've even enjoyed this show at somepoint, we appreciate all that for real.
I want to make sure I saythat again. I have no issues
on Anthony. I just didn't likethat it was all negative on there.

(14:37):
I do like this Mark, whoI've interacted with a few times out here.
I wouldn't respond respond with your content, taking his feedback. When half
of the league folds, it's easyto focus on that, but try to
focus on the other half. It'sa little bit more. You know,
post an article tomorrow about the deHawks and players who are now free agents,
and that's not all music can usethem. That's not like Markus agreeing

(15:00):
with me. He is what I'msaid, Uh, speaking about interesting things
on the football field, Levic. There's been a story sitting on our rundown
here, I'm telling you for abouta week, and for whatever reason,
we keep passing on this story.I want to get to it. I
was texting you yesterday about college football. We gotta we gotta go into this
story because I feel like you've beensitting on this, You've been waiting for

(15:22):
the right moment. I feel likethe moment is now, all right,
I'm ready. I am. Iam ready and prepared to clean out the
parts of the run now we haven'tgotten to for a bit. It's little
Dusty over here, trouble Dump. It's a lot of sports radio ninety five
eighty, it's Lavak and Guz onninety five to nine Fox Sports Radio.

(15:43):
I do enjoy being right. It'sone of my favorite things. Oh,
it really is. Like it's youknow, some people are just like,
oh, it doesn't matter as longas the right thing happens. Like no,
I want to be the one whohad the right thing ready. Like
that's what I like. I likethat. I like when I can go,
Gods, you suck. I wasright, you were wrong. It's
a great feeling having a take ona medium radio television, I assume on

(16:08):
television, but radio, and againcoming back and saying I nailed this,
and you heard it. How wouldyou know? Sometimes see it coming sometimes
see the blow and the hand comingup, and you're just gonna step into
it, aren't you. You're justgonna take the blow. I know you
were looking at me like when youlike my expression of pure like joy and

(16:33):
excitement for when you were gonna stoptalking. It's like a drop, like
what did you think it was Youthink it was like? Yeah, good
point. God, in my head, I was so excited to be like,
man, it feels good when Imake you know where this is gonna
go. Me's like, you knowwhat, just put it out there.
Just maybe he's not listening. Nope, he's locked in the one day I
pay attention the one time. II feel like Dion Sanders is a good

(17:04):
head coach for college football if everyonelikes him. I don't think he has
to be the X and O guy. I don't. I think you like,
he has to have a theory ofhow the team should run, Like,
hey, I want I want ahigh flying offense and I want my
I want my quarterback slash son tobe able to run. You know if

(17:27):
within two of the three reads likehe like, he has to have a
theory and then he can bring ina coordinator run it, you know,
or I want to I want topressure defense. I want to. I
want to I want to stifling secondary, like and then bring in like Tom
Gozlowski is now the offensive coordinator withColorado Buffalo. Like he doesn't. I
don't need him to be that dude. Like there's there's certain coaches that are

(17:48):
that dude. I don't need himto that. I need him to be
the most attractive thing on the otherside of the transfer portal. I need
him. That's what I need himto be. And he is screwing it
up and I love it. Ilove it. I just I have I
just He's not my dude. I'mnever. I'm never gonna like him.

(18:08):
He's I've I was wrong about PeteRose. I ended up liking Pete Rose.
Lenny Dykstra, I could. Icould tell that I would never ever
want to be in the same roomas him, But I was like,
you know, at least he toldme stories. Yes, Andrews does matter
what he does. I'm never. We're never gonna be okay. I know
he's I know he's he's He's verysad to find out that the fat child

(18:30):
that he upset when he was anOmnie Colnedy Yankee has not let it go
as a fat adult. But theColorado Buffaloes will go where his attractiveness leads
them. And right now he's beingaccused of playing quote daddy ball, Yeah,
you ready for a little daddy ball? What is daddy ball? So

(18:53):
I guess some of the players arereally ticked off, and that's why they
headed into the transfer portal. Overthe weekend of the spring game. A
player source said Sanders made the majorityof the team. I'm sorry, the
entire team made it a mandatory thatthey all went to the Lil Wayne concert,
that all of them any and threatenedto dismiss anyone who skipped it.

(19:15):
So here goes boat sham Beckler, here comes, here comes coach Gregan Tusso
listen, if you guys don't goto Lil Wayne, I'm you're out.
I'm canceling your scholarship. Got tosee it Lil Wayne. So it turns
out that at that show, ShoudoreSanders was performing his hit single or soon

(19:40):
to be a single, perfect timing, and reports say that the the idea
was that the team should be thereto support him. And now because players
are like dude, I don't careabout his single? Can he play football?
Can we win football games, theyare now accusing him of daddy ball,

(20:00):
and apparently coach prime Uh took tox and wrote, this is one
of the best lies I've heard.God bless you. I pray for you,
sleep. I pray you sleep welltonight because we are lot Jesus and
it's a L A W D ladJesus. I believe it's Daddy Ball.

(20:25):
Oh you think it's one hundred percenttrue this story? Okay, I'm struggling
a little bit more with this becausehere's here's how I'm trying to view it,
because it sounds like there's some playersif this set up to that was
correct, that he I'm not aplayer. I just crush a lot,
what a great song, what agreat rapper, honestly, big pun.
But these guys already left Colorado,So there's there's a whole storyline there somewhere

(20:48):
of these guys transferred into Colorado andmaybe they hit the portal because they thought
they should be playing more. Theyhave big egos, they were problems at
the other schools. They had theexpectation that they'd be a starter and impact
player Colorado. There is something there, so I don't want to ignore that,
but we have to of what doesthe transfer portal really mean? Is
this the new gen Z athlete?Do that? As would have an axed
grind when you go to social Solet's just push that aside for the sake

(21:10):
of this conversation. So making itmandatory to go to the concert of your
son who's the quarterback, is outrageouslike this, Like so, if Dion
really said, we all need togo out and support my son or the
quarterback of the team, and ifyou don't, they'll be reprimands for it.
You'll be dismissed, ridiculous, outrageous. If that's really what happened,

(21:36):
he quickly like you said, youput it out there, said it was
a lie. Lot Jesus. Thetruth is somewhere probably in between of hey,
uh, volin asked, is thatthe term right? Val old?
Thank you? That's voluntold? Uhwink wink. This is voluntary. We've
heard super mandatory. We have hearddifferent terms of how coaches present that.
I know why he probably did it, not to just show his son on

(22:00):
support. But here's what could havebeen the storyline. Shador Sanders performs in
Colorado with no sight of teammates. Now, if he had got up there
and nobody from the team was there, then there's the beef for the whole
Summerhold door Sanders get along with histeammates as Dion put something in between him
and his teammates and all this otherstuff. Because this is the I cannot
deny. I don't know how truthfulthat is that they really would have been

(22:22):
thrown off the team. Maybe itwas a threat and he really wasn't gonna
go through on this if the startingwide receiver or Travis Hunter wasn't there.
I don't think he does that. But there is zero doubt of the bias
of Dion Sanders and his sons.Like he showed up the first day and
said he's bringing Louis, which washis son, light out, said there
is no competition my son, who'san FCS quarterback. He's gonna be a

(22:45):
D one Power five quarterback. We'renot going to camp. Like, imagine
you're the backup quarterback of Colorado.I don't even know who it is.
I don't know, you know what. That's probably why I don't know who
it is, because he's not gettingon the field. Satyers got hurt last
year. Kid was barely getting onthe field. It is outrageous. Like
if you sign up to go playat Colorado, you have to understand it.
It's brutal, but some people getit. So you're like, oh,

(23:07):
you mean I could just leave,Oh you mean I could just get
cut or it might not be that'severywhere else. I think if you have
to, like Dionne at all,the authenticity of Yeah, this is how
I'm gonna run it. I'm notgonna sugarcoat it. I'm not gonna hide.
You're not gonna go to some otherschool and get surprised. This is
how we do things at Colorado.I think they're actually gonna be pretty good

(23:27):
this season. By the way, well all right, so here, here's
here's the deal. If you toldyour players, I need you at this
event because the visibility is what Ineed to get you better players around you,
good conversation. I'm the brand.Dare we even saying yeah? If
you say please come support my son, okay? Cool? If you say,

(23:52):
if you don't come to this concert, I'm kicking you off this team.
You suck. Like there's a tonof stuff that our guys have to
go to for the Firebirds, Likeit's just that's part of the deal.
Like the reason you are able tobe taken care of as well as you
are. Our sponsors are the community. So when Sunday morning, they won't

(24:15):
be back yet, but the restof us will go and support Make a
Wish at Congress Park in Saratoga. If the guys were here, it would
probably be minatory. They come throughthe walk, you know, But I
don't see us going. Hey,everybody, jelly rolls coming to the MVP
Arena in September, all of you. If you don't fly back for that,
you're not You're You're not welcome back. This is not gonna happen.

(24:37):
It's not gonna happen, the littlesmall difference. But it's a great example
the small differences. You do workwith pros like you deal with adults in
professional athletes and guys you hope.I don't want to assume for the Firebirds,
but you would hope. I thinkcoach Wears assembled the enough team there.
They act like professionals. They arepros. They get, they get
that's a part of the actual job. The problem here at college football,

(24:59):
and not even just really college pullanymore college athletics in general, is you're
dealing with kids, so like, you've got these potentially spoiled, entitled,
money making kids who have never doneanything like this before, and they say
things like, Oh, I gottaget up for a five am workout?
Are you kidding me? What?I gotta go to this event? Yes,
so what if it's part of mynil deal. I could have got

(25:21):
an nil deal anywhere I don't wantto do this event. There are gonna
be so many of these athletes whoare not aware of Yes, the reason
you're on scholarship and the reason youhave money in a bank account is because
you have to go to this eventafter practice on Saturday, after practice on
Sunday, you have to go tothis alumni dinner after the game. The
maturity level of athletes who are freshmansoft burned juniors, even they don't get

(25:45):
it. So maybe this is apart of it too, where it's like,
oh god, you know how hardmy life is. Had to go
to a little Wing concert? Didyou have to buy the ticket? Lil
Wayne? Oh gosh, Like Idon't want to. I'm so busy.
Really, you're twenty year olds gotinvented to a Little Wayne concert, Like
most twenty year olds would love todo something like that. But it's just

(26:06):
I think it's it's also it's anotherthing, right, So A you have
to go, why would you beupset? Okay, One because you threatened
me that if I don't go,I'm out of here. And two and
this is probably the bigger thing. We're sick of being second class to your
son. We're sick of it.He's not that good. I'm sorry.

(26:30):
So far, he's he's exciting,he's he's very gifted athletically. I'm not
I'm not super impressed by what hedoes. I mean, he's a junior
now, so you know, maybetake maybe he's taking that next step.
But I would say sixty percent ofhis fame is his last name. Forty

(26:52):
percent is what he can actually doon the field. I just, I
just I I can't stand the hypocrisyof this because you I believe he did
it. And let's say, Idon't know, just random guy Joe Alton.
I I think that's one of thebat Travis Hunter, he would I
think he better a backward for I'mjust saying I think I think out I

(27:15):
know. Oh, there's like aRyan Stob is one of the backp quarterbacks.
I happen to look that up.Ryan Stobb has uh he wrote a
book. Everybody, we're gonna goto his book reading. If you don't
go to his book reading, you'reoff the team. Now. If you
said that, but you also saidyou're going to the lel Wayne Show.
Or you're off the team. Well, now I'm okay because now it's one

(27:36):
of those things like that, wehave a there's a rule here. We
support our teammates, but we thinkI think the rule is you support my
son that you're lucky enough to breathethe same air, wear the same logo,
play on the same field as Nah, jeezus pro anything to add about
this. Shador Sanders is really good, but he also has another son on

(27:59):
the team. So like Shiloh Sanders, I believe his name was actually a
pretty good player too. I rememberI had a pick six in one of
the Impact games. Imagine what Shiloh'sdoing. Dad, I got stuff going
on. I know I'm not upthere with Lil Wayne, but Lil Wayne,
but I mean, did Diana onetime ranks kids on Instagram? Maybe

(28:21):
I'll field this one a little bitdifferent because I have son number three on
the way. I remember. Yeah, he'll say, like his power rankings
first kids. Yeah, there's alot of attention on shad Door Sanders,
and rightfully so, I believe ifhe has a really good season, he
will be a first round traff pick. That twenty twenty five class with him
and you Weers. There's some reallygood players, but Shiloh Sanders is pretty

(28:41):
good too. I wonder if heeven went throw me off the team?
Dad, do it throw me offthe team for not going to my brother's
count? That would be I mean, come on, that's the storyline.
That's you know what? Now Iknow what I want? I want that.
Can you imagine? Like? Whatwhy'd you kick your own son off?
It rules the rules. Man,You didn't go see lel Way and

(29:03):
hide or Sanders. So he's out. So there's Door Sanders, there's Shiloh
Sanders. I believe he might becloser to his up his mid thirties now
maybe early thirties. Dion Sanders juniorwho played for SMU. So Deon's got
a bunch of kids out there, but two on the team now good,
good for him. I just Colorado'sgetting to a ball game this year.

(29:25):
There's my first take of the twentytwenty four College Bauble Seas. They're gonna
get to at least six wins.I gotta see the schedule. I gotta
look at the schedule. I don'tremember they're in the Big twelve. We
can start doing our fine jar they'vemoved out of the formerly known as the
Pac Twelve. They're in the BigTwelve now, so they're back to their
old conference. I just don't haveI don't have a lot of faith in

(29:45):
him. I think he is.I think he's far more concerned with appearance
than than actual performance. All Right, open the season home against North Dakota
State eight. That should be awin. At Nebraska, I'll think Nebraska.

(30:06):
Yeah, it's probably a coin flipgame, fifty to fifty at Colorado
State, the rivalry, that wasa great game last year. But I'll
take Colorado. Okay, Baylor,Oh, you know what, I'm gonna
give that to Colorado. Baylor's alwaysa tough team to figure out preseason.
UCF, I'll take UCF. KansasState. Where's that game that's in Colorado.

(30:30):
That's another coin flip game. I'llgive that to Kansas State. Okay.
At Arizona. Arizona's awesome this year. Gosh at Arizona, yep,
I'll take Colorado. But that's gosh, there's a lot of fifty fifth there's
there's gonna be some exciting games. That's all three or six point games.
If I was a way dream,it's of course my mind goes to you've
got him at five right now,I've got him at three home for Cincinnati.

(30:56):
I'd say they lose that game.Okay. At Texas Tech an interesting
one over I'll take them over TexasTech. Okay, so there's your there's
your six that it's home for Utah. Nope. At Kansas, hmm,
that's in the last week of theseason, Kansas second, second and last.

(31:18):
They're probably fighting for a bowl.Bit at that point, I'll say
a loss there and then home forOklahoma State. Okay, I got them
at six and six right on thebutton. All right, all right,
I don't so you could get himat four and eight and again there's a
lot of coin flips in there.Yeah, huh yeah, let's go.
Sorry, so I need yeah, but I just like at the end of

(31:41):
the the tweet with Li Jesus lA w D for load. Yeah,
is Jesus spelled regular? All caps? Okay, all caps lot Jesus?
Is this gonna be you legain tostart coaching Little League teams? And everybody
ever go to Rex's the Xylophone Concert. At some point, I know I'll

(32:10):
run into coach's son getting special treatmentand the level of that can be so
different. Like so I played formy dad, I would say he was
the exact opposite of that. Likecoaches were surprised, like, well,
you're not going to give your kidthe ball, not let your kid pinch,
he's not gonna take enough shots. So I think my dad's like,
I'll just let the coach, youknow, almost like the sim mode on

(32:31):
video games. I don't know.I'll just play it out, see how
it goes over there. I wouldget the ball and blowouts though, So
that was nice. I'm looking outto the scrub squad. No, no,
no, I was good. Iwas good, But like pop border
football, someone's got to carry theball up three touchdowns. It was me.
It was awesome. Let's talk aboutthe parking lot right now at the
wonderful iHeart media Land. I don'tsee my vehicle. I didn't see it

(32:54):
either. I didn't think you werehere. Twenty twenty four. CRV is
not out there because my wonderful sisterin law is driving around the Capital region
right now wild few hours half daysfor some local schools here in the five
one eight. So my son andmy sister in law are driving around my
CRV. Thanks our good friends inmohawk Kana. I'll hopefully she's enjoying the
ride. Luckily it's enjoy the guestsand it's got car seats in room,

(33:16):
and I think I'll get it back. I love my vehicle. I don't
know how far where it is inthe Capitol region right now. I don't
know, actually not thinking about it. Loves his CRV if you see it.
Also, I need to ride hometoday from the studio, so I
think somebody's coming to get me andhopefully my wife and her brand new odyssey.
We love mohaw Kana and make thesetrips exciting, adventurous, different on

(33:37):
fun stop it to Mohawkana where maybeyour in laws can share your rides with
you or family members, or youcan get your own ride and say get
out. I love my vehicle toomuch, keep the keys to yourself.
Thanks to Greg Johnson, to theMcKenna family and Lindsay here and everybody else
over there. It gives us thespace in room you need for your lifestyle.

(33:58):
In more, it's mohawk Kanda, where they always go out of the
way to please you. I thinkit's funny we got to dump coming up
and your your wife and her familydumped you out of your vehicle. It's
perfect. I got some issues inthe dump today, and there's more news
the people who are doing this prankinvolving my boy Jerry McNamara. It's not
funny. It's not stop doing thisto me. It's not Some people might

(34:22):
think it is funny, though. It's Fox Sports Radio ninety five, backing
guys on the voice of the CapitolRegions Sports Fan Fox Sports ninety five to
nine and nine eighty Robbery. I'vebeen robbed. Before we get into the
dump, I have to robbery.I ran downstairs and uh, I want

(34:43):
a bag of chips to munch on. All I have was a five to
five in there. It's like, thanks, what do you want? I
pushed the buttons nothing eight my fivedollars? No, yeah, did you
return? I did? I hitthe button, I hit all the things.
I hit a bunch of buttons.I was I don't think anything nothing,
So I little QR code on theresent off a complaint. Stole you

(35:05):
ate my five dollars? How dareyou? How long were you down there?
Because that almost happened to me before. I want to make sure you
hit all the right buttons. Theyshould have returned it in quarters to you.
Yeah, I don't know. Isaw Doug's got a note on there
if something happened to him this morning. I didn't see that before. But
oh yeah. So but there's alittle QR. You can fill out a
little sheet. So I want youto know, vending machine provider at the

(35:27):
iHeartRadio Ranch, I filled out yoursheet. I want my five dollars back.
I will hunt you for five dollars. I will you know what I
like that's happened this week, andmaybe it's happened more often. You and
I haven't even realized it that thedump here at the end of the show
has turned into the airing of grievances. Was the best of us. For
the rest of us, people justair out their grievances. You and I
used to do a segment years agothat was called freak Out Friday, Yeah,

(35:52):
where you and I would just ranabout things from the week. Now,
eventually there are some weeks there's nothingrant about, so you know,
you don't want to force your rant. Whether it's just how our life has
been, whether it's just timing, maybe it's June and sports and we're hitting
everything. We just want to airout our agrievances. You were aired out
your grievances about the ven I machinehere at I heart me a grievous.

(36:14):
That's a that's a it's allegation,that's a that's a robbery, it's it's
it's lawbreaking. Would you like they? Would you like them to also add
beer to the vending machine because Iused to do that same stupid joke for
years every time the guy would fillit up. No, I don't.
I don't do stupid jokes. Ibring my own beer. I leave the
stupid jokes for you. Let meair out some grievances. And now that

(36:35):
you've aired out your grievance, Ihave actually agree. I just I want
to I want my money, mymoney. Let's start with your social media
guy, Ben Nelson. There youare wearing your already firebird gear. We
said it earlier thanks to elevation tenthousand, big game this weekend, just
earlier in this hour alone coach wherejoined us. A fantastic job by him

(36:57):
as always. Here's my problem withBen Nelson, and I'll say his last
name. I believe he turns twentyone this week, if not today this
weekend. Happy birthday, Ben Nelson, I knew his birthday was close to
my son's birthday. Maybe it's Saturdayand your son's taller already I got an
issue with Ben Nelson. I thoughtwe were on the same team. I

(37:17):
thought we were Dare I say compadresfriends associates someone's work Although younger in this
world, I appreciate what he's beenable to pull off before his twenty first
birthday. How dare he put LegoBoy with a graphic on social media?
And Nick's fine? Nick is apart of the friend So Lego Boy,

(37:39):
Sam turn Sam intern Sam Yeah, got a graphic promoting where he was gonna
be on a wonderful social media pagebefore the broadcaster of the team. You
know, I should have had agraphic that I was out with an injury
last week. Berth though, ButLego Boy got a great before me.

(38:00):
Andrew said to I think people intocopying me, by the way, say
see closers chiming in. After hisbroadcast, Andrew had a fuddy rebuttal of
that, can you guys at leastfollow me? That one's suddy? But
how does he get a graphic beforeI do? I should have had like
an action shot leavec You talked aboutsilhouettes and statues and Jerry West passed away.

(38:21):
Can I at least get a graphicon social media from you? Guys?
You know so two things Sam hasdone that you haven't done. Uh,
he's been at every game this year. You haven't. You haven't you
blew off last week's game, whichwe lost, by the way. Uh,
that's that's one. Two. Hecomes to Flock University and participates.

(38:43):
I've invited you to Flock University manytimes, and he's telling you, Oh,
I'm very busy, very bit.Yeah, you're too busy to show
up. You're too busy to getblown up on our social media. Sorry,
buddy, Sorry, I support Benon this one. You support Ben
yep, Ben to the right thing, right things on, And I'll tell
you what. We're never gonna followsomebody asked to be followed. That just

(39:05):
feels cheap and lame. What areyou doing but sad and pathetic? It's
what you were looking for. Well, you're begging him for a social media
graphic. You want a social mediagraphic so bad? Show up? Why
don't you do the huge lou challengeagainst Nick? What about all the work
I've put in for this team. What about the blood and sacrifice I put
in? Where were you? Wherewere you Saturday? I wasn't necessarily there

(39:30):
where I was at a wedding.Okay, you bleed a lot while you're
while you're doing color commentary. Yougot a little blood and sacrifice going on.
That's what you're trying to tell me. I feel like it's more of
an HR thing. Are you HR? I'll tell I'll tell you no right
now, Sam, Sam threw upin his car. Okay, No,
that's what I'm hearing. No,Sam, I'm like, why did you

(39:52):
go outside? Right in the car? In the car? So Sam,
Sam is sacrificed for this team.Sam's a member of the Firebird family.
You just show up when you feellike it. I want to ask more
about that event. However, Ido want to get those ratings on Saturday
at nine o'clock when Flock University airsthe audio version of that competition. In

(40:15):
previewing the game, so the earlypart where you'll hear it and then you
might want to go watch it afterwards. While Nick is just annihilating the the
five pound cal zone, the hugeloup, He's pulling everything out of it.
Coach Ware's face is like I Ithink Nick has a plan, Like

(40:36):
he just looks. He looks, and I imagine it's the same like face
he would have if somebody had likea like a sub four two forty.
He's been like wow, like itwas impressive. No you yeah, listen,
you don't get graphics. You don'tshow up. I'm gonna send Ben
a graphic. I'm gonna make himwant to tag him. You don't know
how to do that. I'm gonnasend him a personal guys made graphic for

(40:59):
his birthday, your color something, and then take a picture of it.
What do you like? You don'tknow how to do any of that?
Art is art? Levac, giveme Ben's number. Second? Please?
What you know what chow for?Game? You get yourself? I have
a second griefance I'd like to airout as well your first grief It sucked.
This is not funny for you peoplewho keep doing this. I don't
know if you're trying to be funnyor you just are trying to rub it

(41:21):
in and be mean. I haven'tfigured out what you people are trying to
do yet. People, but thepeople who keep tagging me in other Jerry
mac damara interviews. I get it. He's talked to other people. I
see Jerry mack last. Neither one'sgood. Neither one. I take it.
Who is the other one? Ialways saw the most recent one someone

(41:45):
who helped me start my radio career. He used to work in this Marc
Mike Lindsley. He immediately texted meat like eight thirty nine o'clock and I
believe I've been tagged on multiple sites. Now I get why. That's an
old school media social media tactic ofwhere if you're in the marketing, you
tag somebody you hope for the sharesand engagements and retweets. Today different audience.

(42:05):
I'm not gonna shame that because Idid that. It actually works.
It's really well done if you tagpeople who are looking for content. I
get what he was trying to do. Hey, we heard this from coaching
McNamara from the Mike Lindsley sports Platterpodcast, trying to provide us content.
So I'm not hating on it there. But then Brian Sinkoff had it too.
Not even mind saying their names, because I know when the day comes
when you and I have coached McNamaraon I think with all due respect to

(42:28):
them, our goal is to outperformtheir content. I'm sure they would say
the same thing. We hope theircontent's better than their Hey, it's a
part of the gig. But stoptagging me in the interviews. I feel
like you're trying to give us contentfor the show. I feel like that's
the hope, but I feel likesome of you, privately via text message,
are trying to rub it in that. Look who got mac Damara before

(42:51):
Levak and GUYZ not not a poopoo. I've talked to him. Not
I know, I understand you've talkedto him, but for content for the
show. Listen, the only theonly thing I can think of why he
hasn't come on the show is thatyou keep talking about Sniffenan Because now he's
gone on. He's got a showwith a realtor and a guy who was
chased out of this town on arail. So I mean, clearly,

(43:14):
if anyone asks, he'll do it. Except for you. Have I publicly
or even professionally asked for Coach mcdamarato come on the show. I've booked
along with you. Both of ushave booked, no exaggeration, hundreds of
guests. We might be approaching thousandsof guests on the show. If you
really want to do the math overeight years and count radio rows, we

(43:36):
might be close. We're probably closerto one thousand than one hundred. YEP.
So I technically haven't requested him tobe on the show the correct way
professionally, but I was shocked thatnearly what forty eight hours after we talked
about how I was questioning why allof a sudden people were reaching out for
us to interview coach mcdamara. Hewas on those maybe let me throw this

(43:58):
theory out of you. Maybe thatperson who's a mutual friend of ours did
that to multiple media outlets, multiplepeople who had inquired in the past about
coach McNamara. They all jumped onthe opportunity and said, guess what time
will make it happen, while Istomped my feet like a baby and said,
I want him in studio, Iwant a picture, I want social
media hype. I want to builda relationship that seems where the mistake might

(44:22):
have been made by me. No, because all of that followed by I
want to sniff him sounds super creepy, like if he's he's doing hits with
you know, a dude who ismost famous for not interviewing Shane Spencer and
a guy who left the industry tosell houses, and you're not on the

(44:44):
list. I'm just saying, that'sthat's a me thing. That's what you're
saying. It's yeah, it's It'sone of those things. Like you know,
you sit down at a poker table. There's a sucker at every poker
table. If you can't find him, you are him. There's a there's
apparently a creeper trying to get mcnamara interview. You can't find him because
you are him. Just take theinterview. I can promise you this,

(45:07):
when that man joins this show.Okay, there will be no better interview
in Albany, Syracuse, Binghamton,Rochester, Watertown. I know that Syracuse
University is doing the upstate bus trip, so how they don't go east?
They only want to go west.I saw Robert Lee's post on Twitter.
See I'm tapped in here. Thatwill be the best McNamara er. The

(45:27):
only McNamara interview you will want tohear is with Lavak and Go. I
actually, through just some special technology, I have a preview of the interview
that's never had before. Wow youdo? Yeah? Okay, all right,
So here it is, so whatwe're at. We're I've introduced him,
said hello to him, and nowGod's goes for the first question with

(45:49):
Jerry McNamara. Hey, remember whenyou and you won the national championship at
Sarah Cues University. Yeah, guys, I remember that. Shoot, that
was cool. An interview. That'sthe whole that's you. That's it.

(46:13):
That's all you got. That's allyou got. Hey, you I I
I'm happy here as Siana, Metoo, guys. Cool, that's it.
There's the interview. That's the wholeinterview. I'm gonna I'm gonna go
to couch back, like what dowe when we look at how's the team
looks so far this year? Ithink guys will go they like you look

(46:37):
great? Cool? You know whatI want to have happened now. I
don't want to know what he's coming. I want this to be a surprise
situation. I want him to walkin like during a break and sits down
and like someone films me freaking outCoach mac namara, I see what's happening
here? Someone tag him on Twitter, Levac and guys and wf X nine

(47:00):
eighty, They're waiting for you. This show wants you. The hunt continues
for coach McNamara and stop tagging meon Coach McNamara interviews. Hey, I'm
not going to share it. Heyes, is mellow, smell like old spice

(47:20):
and dreams. I bet I bethe does. Hey, Hey, you
do you do you know Donavan McNabbIs he cool? I bet he is.
You'll never believe what he did tome. By right, I want
everybody in here. You know whatI want? Coach mcdamara on a waku

(47:44):
coach Blackwell, they can all come. I'm not going to Seanna. I've
decided I'm drawing the line right here. I'm drawing. I think at least
one of them has to stay ina safe, undisclosed location. So if
the other ones don't call back fastenough, they know that you've somehow subdued
them all. I think it iswhat it is. Here's your first graphic.
It's gonna be made by colony police. If you've seen this man,

(48:07):
don't let him near the basketball coach. That's what if that's the email?
Hey, are you guys the sniffer? Yeah, I'm not coming on.
If I can get that as anemail. I mean, it's not gonna
make me feel good and I'll behurt, but it will get me some
content on social Oh man, that'swhat I have in the dump. Stop

(48:27):
tagging me on the interviews and Iforgot the other grievance already aired out.
Yeah about an interview a lot aboutsocial media today and Ben Nelson. Yeah,
oh lego, boy, I gotone. I got one. Oh
you got another. I got Letshave some time here, we have time,
we do okay, good, becauseso this is like I can't be
the only person. All right,I'll just tell I'll put a deal like

(48:50):
this, guys. I broke outlaughing today over a story of a guy
who worked for a place for thirtysix years getting fired. Oh beloved SeaWorld
mime fired after thirty six years overthe spirit dispute with security guard. Quote
never let me say my side. You're a mime. You're not supposed to

(49:12):
talk. How dare you? Howdid I saw? I was like,
wait a minute, this is likethey're messing with us, right, like
a mime never got to say hispiece. Come on, you don't get
to say thirty six years of beinga mime, and you didn't know that
you were a terrible mime. You'rethe worst mime ever. The mime got

(49:37):
in a fight with the security guardat SeaWorld over riding his bike in the
wrong place, setting power into theguy's that whole night. The guy goes
and says, his min cust meout the company that contracts mimes to SeaWorld.
There's a there's a mime industry.Okay, just so we're clear,
there's a mime industry in Florida IndustryUnion or to the media, Like I

(50:00):
did very very quiet, very quietmeetings, a lot of a lot of
a lot of impenetral boxes, ropes, stairs that you can't see, finger
waving, a lot of finger waving, a lot of a lot of like
but no sounds. Uh, weshould do a mime segment. Just turn
the show off for five minutes mimes. Very great mime joke the other day,

(50:22):
but it want no Well, soso he's so he does a whole
video on TikTok I, Like,I can't believe I never got the same
They never asked me what I whatI my side of the story. You're
a mind. You don't get tosay your pettit imaginary dog, walk up
imaginary stairs, ride an imaginary bike, and leave. The mid joke I

(50:45):
heard the other day was if Iever get a superpower, I'm gonna be
invisible and then beat up a mimeand help him out with its performance.
Uh mimes, I use the Iwent for my stand up. No,
no, no, you used tosomebody. Somebody will go to the stand
ups that didn't hear that joke? You know why the cannibal didn't didn't want

(51:07):
to any more? Clowns? Whyis that they taste funny? Tastes funny?
All right, it's just dad jokesman. That's all you got.
You gotta mean nuts, uh?Is it? And then you got what
you should do? Remember when wasit? Clint Eastwood did the fake interview
with Obama where he talked to likean empty chair. You should do a

(51:30):
fake interview with Jerry McNamara for yourfive minutes a stand up coach mac Hi,
No, guys, I should goto like actually should go to like
Kelly o'donald's class and have him teachmedia etiquette. Now, guys, now
a little too close back up there, big guy, A little too close?

(51:52):
Did you see this the mind thatgot fired from Sea World just interviewed
Jerry mc wow. Yeah as amind, what even say nothing? I
just made made dribbling gestures and isthat it's gonna happen now more people are
just gonna keep you interviewing Coach McNamaraperforming. We got lego boys gonna be

(52:14):
interviewing on sand Actually that probably willhappen. He does do a lot with
Sienna. He will that that actuallyprobably will like all joking aside that one's
coming. I can't wait for this. Like, Hi, this is Tanya
from dunkin Donuts. I'm sitting herewith coach McNamara, very excited to be
here. What coach, what's yourfavorite play? Forever refresher middle schooler college.

(52:38):
He's gonna be interviewing on for aschool project. Number one sports show
in the market. Can't even getan answer. Call here's mystic Dan Terrible.
Make it stop. Please tag Sennaat Sanna sportsn wf X nine eighty

(52:59):
enough this podcast and Reel and Coreyfrom Greenwich's Dad just interviewed. Jerry mcamore
comes back to marrow. What doyou think of my son's nuts? It's
got great meat. Doesn't he He'snever coming on the SHOWF couch, you
think you got yourself in a situationwhere you have to win or must win.

(53:22):
Heir have a mouthful my son's nuts. God sucks. I wouldn't talk
to him, neither hurt His wifeloves my son's meet in her mouth,
gets the steaks by the pound.Wash your hands, don't cut your face.
I'll hit the button.
