(00:21):
Voice of the Capitol Regions Sports Fan, Fox Sports ninety five nine and nine
eighty Pass. I'm believe come outthough we just started. We are alive
from along Chevrolet. I said,pass, I get a pass, I
get a path. Pop it.Yeah, we're live from watch Chevrolet.

(00:41):
Pull it. People still get thatreference. I hope they did. They
did. I think SNL just dida bit about it. That's too long
ago. I think it wasn't thatlong ago. They really, Yeah it
was. It was Uh, itwas an uncomfortable one. The way they
did it feel weird coming on afterCaveno. Howard's off this week. He's
been off for like two weeks,I don't think. But with the pride

(01:03):
of the score twelve sixty in Syracuse, New York, a former Leavakan Guz
guest, some would say the secondbest radio host in the country after Lavak
and Gaze. Danny Parkins was on, but no Danny Parkins, Cavino and
Rich and Study. We wanted tohear day park So what Davey Parker's on
TV but not radio? Yeah, okay, interesting, Well they're not all
like it's it's an interesting little dichotomyin the UH in the in that world

(01:27):
where CBS Sports and was a wF A N and a couple other stations,
they're they pick and shoes what theyuse for each other. So one
of these days they want to bumpup those afternoon ratings with the ladies,
and they would put a camera infront of Levak and guys. They are
welcome to do so. Be niceto have a staff of some variety except
for Lovely Delia's here. But that'sthat's about the only the only person who

(01:49):
helps us anymore. I think weappreciate you. She left her Ivory tower
today. I'll go back with thepeasants. Fine. They called me,
gosh, she's an ivory tower.I didn't know that. Is that what
it is? Yeah? No,I mean it's the same. I just
like trying to think, like Ithink DEALI would have like an espresso like
you know, like it wouldn't belike guy was just does. She has
a nice coffee right there, slidesdown a duncan straw. Just have everyone.

(02:14):
I'm here. I've decided to gruntyou with my presence. You're all
welcome. We didn't need her today, so thank you. Yeah, well
you did. I would have justnot done a show it was you know
it's I would have done it righthere. I just sat here like this
and been snarky for two or threehours. You know what, let's lead
off with this today. Back youmean snarky? I love to No,
no, no, you chew yournails. It's weird. People have talked

(02:36):
about it all night. No onebelieves that you don't chew your toenails,
by the way. Everyone thinks it'sthat you are officially that gross. Privately
people have joined the team of nailbiers, but we are there. They
haven't joined it. Somebody called Christianover Elevations ten thousand. We need to
make nail biters shirts, nail biersnail clippers, two different shirts. We
are four days away from a semifinal matchup inside MVP Arena with the Albany

(03:00):
and for the first time in thehistory of the show. Quarterback Jake Medlock
is scheduled to Jonas at four twentytoday. Darry Even say all Beny Firebird
beat writer and host Ryan McCarthy. We say his name and he appears like
Joe Henry Will Jonas at four fortyfive for the player that it's like,
how are you feeling what's going onbehind the scenes? Take us behind you

(03:21):
know, what's the TV cliche forthe local sports anchors, Take us beyond
the box score? What's going onwith the Firebirds? And only you could
tell this right now on Fox Sportsninety five, nine nine eighty. I'm
sure you've you've dealt with this atsome level where it's like, man,
I just wish that everything was beingrun like professionally, like I want I
wish they was, you know, like listen, if I'm gonna jump through
hoops leting be professional hoops, wellbe careful what you wish for, because

(03:44):
uh, now that the new powersof Beer in charge of the AFL,
this week is the week that they'recoming here, you know what I mean.
They're all they're like, we've hadthe we've had Chris Chatty from G
six and the guys who actually likeown, you know, the copyright for
the AFL, who have stepped inand saved the day. We've had them
in town, and that was cool. They just kind of like they just
wanted to see how we did things. But this is like, hey,

(04:05):
we're bringing our friends CBS Sports Networkand we're also bringing design, so you're
gonna do things exactly how we wantthem, or we're gonna punish you.
So it's like, and listen,I'm completely on board. Everything they're asked
me to do is one percent makessense. But I legitimately got a question

(04:25):
today about the smoke and uh flamespread rate of our turf and dasher pads.
Oh my gosh, Like, dude, you want to talk about crossing
t's and dot and i's. Likepeople who thought, oh, this league
is it doesn't they don't pay it. They're not serious enough. They are
we serious now they're looking for likelike like detracting of how fast my turf

(04:46):
burns like I'm and lucky luckily forfor me. As I sat there,
I went, I don't know howto answer that. Mike corn Is in
the background, who's been running youknow, fire and water restoration companies forever
now now runs bell for he's sittingthere. I got that hold on.
I'm like, you just know, like like why would you know? What
are you rain man? He's firemaninstead of rain Man. That's like,

(05:08):
come on, I want to goback to So you said it there about
the smoke and that about how quicklythe turf could burn or how high the
flames could it. You said somethingthere. I can't tell if you were
being snarky or there was maybe astoryline we got that you said, if
we don't do what you say,we're gonna be punished. Punished in the
sense of like a boss getting onsomebody like this is the way we want
me to be done, punished inthe sense of we're gonna make changes for

(05:29):
the future. Were you just jokingaround with that term, because I think
heard that they're like, whoa arethese guys bigger heavy hitters than we've heard
all season long? And I'm talkingabout the owners of the arena Fooball League,
not the individual owners of franchises. But I guess the overseers maybe is
the better term to say the Ican't say commissioner, but it's hard to
defind good. But the say youcan say commissioner, Jeff Fisher, Jeff

(05:53):
game day Operations, Gary Compton,Jerry Kurz, Who's who's in the front
office. The maybe punish is astrong word. Let's put it like this.
In the beginning of this season, while you know here in Allbody I
love, there was a lot ofthere was a lot of criticism about the

(06:14):
league, but a lot of peoplewere at least nice enough to say,
like, you know, allbodies gottheir act together. Nashville, Orlando,
you got your act together. Ifwe didn't, there was no one to
go, hey, why don't youhave your act together? Like I don't
know, maybe you were watching agame last weekending you saw a logo of
another team that wasn't fully panded overin the end zone of a different team,
Like that's not allowed. Like there'ssomeone who's gonna call you and go,

(06:35):
hey, we told you we likelike when you when you bring family
members to your work and you goand you go, hey, I want
to give you a tour. Iwant you to see what I do.
However, my boss is here,so you've got to be respectful. Like
no, no stupid stuff like noneof the the Manning brothers kicking each other's

(06:57):
butt down the hallway. You know, none of that's none of those things
are a lot, uh. Andthen all of a sudden, one of
the macs up. You're embarrassed becauseyou you brought your people to your place.
So like that's kind of what's happening. Like these the powers that be
now the names that I've already justmentioned, and then some they have the
relationship with CBS Sports Network, theyhave relationship with his own, they have
the relationship with American Dream Mall andall these other and like some some there's

(07:21):
more sponsors on a national level thatare being discussed now than that have been
these entire time. So what theirwhole thing is is, hey, listen,
we're you know, we're bringing youto the party. Don't embarrass us.
And that's and and if you do, there's there's gonna be some form
of repercussion. I don't know whatit is yet, but you don't find

(07:44):
now, and and and also youdon't like like, I'm happy because three
people that I that I consider verygood friends, Mike Corda, Andy Gelicher,
Richie says that they own this team. So now I've got people in
charge of the league that their teamis in who actually care about the product,
so like like you should be jumpingthrough the hoops they're asking to jump
through and they're not that high, but they're there because it's the better product.

(08:07):
And guess what, the fans aregonna enjoy it more because everything looks
like the people who sit there andgo my buddy defense sign kid like he
just loves to he he'll find somegood luck, Like it's not for me.

(08:33):
I was gonna save this question Friday, but I feel like we're the
question for Friday already. Segment.I've had a day I had this question,
say for Friday show, but I'mgonna do it now and maybe I'll
bring it back again on Friday. Is it unfair to ask this question?
Yes? Is Saturday? Is Saturdaythe most important game in the history of

(08:54):
the Albany Firebird franchise? You setme up for it, but you asked
that question about every game played,Like is this the most important good with
the history of the Newly York Gangnever never said it's Tuesday Night against the
Rays, But you've lost sixteen oftwenty two games, this version, this

(09:18):
version of it, yeah version, because they played a Chad they wont a
championship in nineteen ninety nine, righthere on the floor. I mean,
that's that and that's like you you, that's the game that when you talk
to like new Firebird fans, thisis we want this to be that to
them, you know. But butlike people of my age, your age,
but anybody older than than Delia, they remember that ninety nine game and

(09:41):
they go, that was a specialmoment for the Capitol region and then it
was like taken away from him.Stuff. It's a whole thing. But
like that, that's the foundation thatit's built on. Like the most recent
Yankee dynasty was built on the foundationof what happened in nineteen ninety six.
So that being said, you knowthat ninety nine game is still that looms

(10:03):
extremely large, and now you know, this good for this version of the
Firebirds. And I would say probablyeven the Empire, even the Empire had
championships, I would say this isthe most important game because if we do
this the way that we know wecan do it. You know, as
far as on the field, Medlock, Prince, all those guys play to

(10:24):
their ability level. Behind the scenes, myself, Nick Bernard ben Nelson,
all those guys, they do.They do what they're supposed to do.
You know, as a league,we do what we can do. But
and as a fan base, weshow up and we just rock that building.
You're gonna see some of those oldguard Arena Football team owners who have
money, who want to win,but haven't seen the league they felt like

(10:45):
they belonged to. Yet you're gonnasee them go. I want back in
because I want to go do that. I want to go, I want
to I want to host that, and then I want to beat the hell
out of Albany. Good luck, pack of lunch. You're not gonna be
able to do it, but yeah, no, for this version, it's
the biggest. As much as youdespise my question, that is exactly the
right answer, And how do youthis side right answer? Because hang on,
here's why. Here's why. Alsoalso because it's the first ever home
game that didn't involve goz oh.Second, sorry because you skipped one earlier.

(11:09):
Sure why it's the right answer andwhy it's more important than the nineteen
ninety nine Arena Football League championship. And I know that's gonna take off a
lot of people on this Tuesday inJuly. That will hang on a second.
Godz is telling me that the semifinal game in twenty twenty four is
more important than the nineteen ninety nineArena Football championship game the Arena Bowl inside
what was called them the Pepsi Centerof the Pepsi Arena. This one is

(11:31):
more important because here's what's happened.I now have is you've pointed out what
happened after ninety nine, Like whatwould have happened the game thousand, two
thousand? Fine, what happened isthe year two thousand, Yes, yes,
that's not wrong, that's right. What happened right, Like the moment's
incredible for people who were there forthat ArenaBowl championship and what touchdown Eddie Brown

(11:52):
did in the moment for the CapitolRegion, we could put that up there
as one of the great moments inthe history of Capitol Region sports professionally your
college. But on four and whytwenty twenty four, this upcoming weekend's game
is more important is because hindsight, looking back twenty twenty, the team left
Like if the Firebirds in ninety ninehave lost the championship game and they didn't

(12:13):
win, would the franchise still havelost. So that's what really feels kind
of so negative about that storyline, but so truthful about is that the result
of that game matter for the Capitalregion. Yeah, it mattered because fans
are on the field and they stormand they celebrate on a national televisi tam
too. I'm not trying to degradeor take away the championship anyway, but
I'm talking about the lasting legacy ofthe Firebirds twenty twenty four storyline going into

(12:35):
the game is everything you just said. What's it mean to have that national
stage for CBS Sports Network, What'sit mean to be playing next to if
the Firebirds win next to MetLife Stadiumon a slower sports week where there might
be more attention leading up on mediaday and press conferences in quotes, because
that Wednesday Thursday in frontic can bea little dryer in sports and looking for

(12:56):
stories like this and for the haters, the doubters, the keyboard warriors,
the dogs will never wear one ofour total brove. It can all get
silenced like a boxer in the finaltwenty seconds of a round who goes off
and steals the round from a judge, like a team who wins a championship

(13:16):
in France. Forget about what happenedduring the regular season. A lot of
times, it's the last thing thatpeople remember that can define a season,
a moment, a team. Yousee this a lot, especially with the
athletes who get older. The athleteswho gets older, if figure out how
good they were in their prime, that's why this is so important. Now,
look, the Arena Bowl will bemore important, but I pinpoint this
because the game is at Albany. So yeah, it's most important even Fireber

(13:37):
history. Honestly, So here's whyyou underestimate ninety nine. Okay, like
like you're you're close, put you'rea little off. I was in meetings
in late twenty early twenty one, right, and part of those discussions were
what do we want to launch asdo we want to be the Albany Empire

(14:01):
who are coming off a championship intwenty nineteen, or do we want to
be the Firebirds who you know, they came back in some form, but
they won a championship in ninety nine. I was one of the geniuses Eric
quote who said the empire is themost is the most recent. You're coming
off of victory, you're defending, you're the reigning. That's the way to

(14:24):
go. And the room agreed, and we went forward as the Empire,
and we struggled to put butts inseats, and we struggled to get attention,
and we spend a lot people likeyou didn't advertise, Yes we did.
We spent a ton of cash.Well that we like Quorda and a
couple others. But but like wedid that, and we never got the
buzz we did when we came backto the Firebirds. That press conference we

(14:48):
did in late October at the MVPArena got more attention than all the work
we did as the second narration ofthe Empire. I know you don't want
to put disasterk out there, butI'm gonna let you finish. But I
also COVID did play a factor. No, no, I'm to be perfectly
honest with you. Let's be clear. The the the weird part about it

(15:09):
all was the we had to turnpeople away in twenty one when there was
when it was a five thousand seacap, we had to turn people away.
We didn't have to do that intwenty two when there was no rules.
So like like it, you know, a factor him and not not
largely in twenty three, all hellbreaks loose. I think that plays into

(15:30):
it too. I think I thinkwhen you have a threat from the outside,
people pull together. But like this, the Firebirds means something to this
area. The Empire does too.And I'm very proud of what. You
know, you knew myself, andyou know George Manniis, and you know
Mike Corda and Roderdico and you knowon the list goes on, what what

(15:50):
everybody achieved, you know, bringingthat in here againting it done. You
know, Tommy Grady on the fieldand Darius Prince and like Al Jones College,
you go through it everybody. I'mso proud of of everyone for that.
But the Firebirds means something like it'sIt's different, man, I'll tell
you I never felt the pressure withthe Empire. I do with the Firebirds.

(16:15):
Like I literally was talking to aformer Firebird today, you know,
via tacks because nobody talks anymore, and it was hey, I was tought,
Hey, I appreciate you keeping likea steady helm, you know,
keeping things moving in the right direction. And I'm like, I don't know
if it's me or not, butI but like nobody ever says me with
the Empire. Nobody ever, like, nobody ever called me up and went,

(16:36):
hey, you know what, man, like, thanks for keeping that
in the right direction. Like itmeans something to a lot of people in
this market, and you can neverforget that. And that's why I also,
I think attendance. As much asit's weird to say this, if
if we have eight nine ten thousandpeople at this game on Saturday, it
actually will be more important for thesport than and even the Arena Bowl,

(17:02):
because that's the one Again, thisis every when when you talk to people
outside of this market. I've talkedto a couple of guys who are starting
up teams and they're supposed to jointhe league next year. We'll see if
they still do. They've told uswe we want we're building the model off
of what we saw you guys do. Now, if we go ahead and
put eight nine ten thousand people inthat arena on Saturday, watch how many

(17:22):
more people get in line, Like, we'd also like to build that model.
Please can we also be a partof it? So it's like the
Albany fan is the most powerful fanin arena football right now. They have
you actually with your you know purchasingtickets and coming to the block party.
You have more power than other indoorfootball arena football fan in the world right
now, and not just locally. It is not just regionally, it is

(17:42):
nationally when that performance is put on, when people see what all of many
can do, when other markets,as you touched on, said oh,
this is what we can be apart of. This is what it looks
like. Wait wait, wait, social media was telling me stuff different.
What about all these Twitter posts? What about all these weird goal posts?
Oh, this is what it's allabout. Huge impact. So again,

(18:02):
I think I took that storyline too, not so much of what's happening on
the turf for the x's and o'sor what I've usually done, which is
the most important game of the season. It's about what can be coming forward
for the future of twenty twenty five, twenty twenty six and beyond. Guys,
I'm about to do the most importantread of all time and tell them
my good friends here in Mohawks Chevroletlisten, I love I love you know.

(18:26):
I love this place, like thevehicles, the selection, the people.
It is. It's where I go. Like you know, the guys
are yelling at me from parts becausethey're ordering parts for Scarjo as we speak.
She's she's back ordered on a coupleof cool things. But they're trying
to They're gonna like, hey,can you wait for the one you really
want? Yes, I can waitfor the one I really want. You
know what, you yell at partsbecause I want to yell at social media.

(18:47):
Here they can yell at you allin Where is Nate? Where is
Grace? I demanded to be onTikTok today. Listen, they are killing
it on TikTok. So it's mymoment. Let me say, this is
Chevy, Okay, this is Americanmade bow ties. Okay. But my

service or vehicle. I've got familymembers of reachestyle and say, hey,
would you recommend I work there? You're yes, yes, three times,

(19:11):
yes, every time. Yes,because I watched the way people work their
way up. I watched Travis Hornthe GM. I watch Katie Getuso dunk
in the assistant GM, who isnow one of the top forty under forty
automotive executives in the country, Likeit's that's what they're doing here. And
then you know you mentioned the TikTok. It's not about you, guys.
It's about the people here, thefun they're having, and then they'll bring

(19:33):
that fun to you. It's aboutthis blazer ev that actually has the shifter
on the column. Again, Ihaven't seen one of those in years.

conditioning whatever. We're both in shorts. The work of the job. Please
don't touch my leg with your chewton, nubby fingers and weirdost. Actually
earlier thought I was the team picturesfor the for the Firebirds. I saw

(24:55):
it. It looked great. Youguys look great. Thank god we're sitting
ou because I didn't know I hada SpongeBob. Uh uh split my pants?
No what happened. Now before youlaugh, Before you laugh, I
want to point out wasn't back.It was the front ladies. It was
the front up. Yeah, splitmy pants on TikTok, splitting pants in

(25:18):
the front. Yeah. Yeah.So like I was, I was walking.
We did the we did all thewe did all the pictures. Everything
was good, everybody was happy.I was walking. I was in one
of the stairwells. He's drafty aroundhere. The boys are getting a breeze,
and I realized, yeah, rightdown the front side to head home.

(25:40):
Switch them out. So you wantedme to come here with like my
wedding tackle out. Well, here'swhat you could have done. See ewigs
and berries available for all the oldschool move in the team photo. Whether
wrestlers are the kings of this youput yeah, I don't under the biceps
the mean mug photo. Right, that's the way to do with But what
you could have to go catch shirtfor Nate. I saw that you could

(26:02):
have extended the shoulders and then wentright, I'm re seated because I'm I'm
I'm for I'm like front office handon the wrist. So it's like so
like so like it's it's the ownersit's coach where it's myself. We're all
seated, So I was okay,no one noticed, I don't think,
which is also insulting. But yeah, but like like yeah, I'm like
I didn't, like, I didn'teven pick up on an if I'm being

(26:23):
perfectly honest, like I wish Ihad noticed, like I felt the breeze,
didn't think anything was that's nice.It's nice. It's a good thing.
Little little breeze must be walking fastor something, coming to the pant,
like stop by the gas station, going to walk inside the gas station,
reaching my pocket, like oh,oh, okay, all right,
And I was in I was inthe I was in. I was in
there. I was too late toyou know, So I was just so

(26:45):
I decided to like have the strideof pride and just kind of walk around
and be like, how you doing. What's up? That's good air conditioning?
What's up? It's the front Andby the way, it was too
late. It was too late.It was too Yeah, it was right.
It's it's not the back. It'slike the same junk in the trunk.
This is this is a big engineunder the hood. This is live
from Mohawks Chevrolet I bet so likemy uh yeah, so, so I

(27:11):
had to go home and change inthe shorts. Now there's a party that
hopes you keep the shorts and likeraise it up in the banner, you
know, like they raise the bannerand yeah again like I'm like, as
a fat guy, you think I'dbe embarrassed. But it's again the front,
the front. We used to dothis thing. We did it one
year. It's called Levacan guys. This locker. We're in December. We
just gave away random stuff we ownedthat would be in the December giveaway for

(27:34):
the Levacan guys. What vacuum rip. I've already thrown him a champions We'll
get him out. We gotta save. We got trash Day's Tuesday for you.
Get him out of there. Whydo you know trash day is Tuesdays?
I put out my garbage today. Why do you know that my trash
day is Tuesday? You've weirdo? You nailed you and weirdo. You know
what speed about? I got twoquick questions for Nate, who was sitting
here, and I know he's verybusy. Date just toss us on to

(27:56):
you. You thought you never askedagain? Those two things, right,
you know who? Hello there? What is what? What is Taco cat
spelled the backwards Taco cat. That'swhy I was wearing the Taco cats.
Taco cat is taco You got newheadphones the same ones? Is that your

(28:17):
personal? Or is that mohawks?Shechev re lace? Someone else is supposed
to have the shirt on today? No, this was this is personal.
However, do you want to knowthe story behind the show? All right?
So I went to a conference twoyears ago and the panel, the
guys that I was on the panelwith, We're like, dude, we
gotta wear this Taco cat shirt. So we all wore the same shirt.

(28:38):
So we fast forward after the conference, I go into my local Glenville Starbucks
and the manager, Katie there goes, I love that shirt. Where can
I buy it? I sent herthe link. She buys it. Fast
forward two years and you know, give her take a few months. I
walk in she Katie's working, andshe goes, We're gonna wear the Taco

(29:02):
catcher on Tuesday. Two weeks afterafter I as soon as I get back
in two weeks, I go onvacation. So I I remind her got
her own shirt. Well, let'sgo. I couldn't do I could.

(29:25):
Oh my gosh, I need tosee that. She helps pay all the
bills. She's she do all theaccounting for the true story. If I
couldn't, if I didn't have inthe corner, let me finish this story.
And I have another story for youthat you may have not heard home.
So so all right, So Igo in. I remind her yesterday

(29:48):
as I go and to started like, hey, don't forget your Taco catcher.
We're gonna wear it tuesday. Shegoes, I won't forget. I
was like, you forgot, didn'tyou? No, by the way,
say no, one on the radiocan hear. And then so I walk
in today, grab my drink. She's not wearing it. She's freaking out.
And if you want to check thisout, I'm gonna have a full
video of this coming up on myInstagram page and underscore reclick. But so

(30:11):
she she goes, oh my god, I forgot I was gonna wear the
Taco cat shirt. She's so upset. She texts me and goes, Nate,
where are you? Where are yougoing after this? I'm gonna meet
you with my Taco catch here.I'm like, well, it's our company.
Medium. Ohakanda. She's like, all right, how many employees do

(30:32):
you have? I'm like two hundred. She's like, I'm bringing something.
I was like, okay. Sherolls up in her taco catch here she
made out of cats. It wasa horrible end of the store that happening.
No, she comes in. Shebrings in four like Joe jugs of

(30:53):
strawberry as ie and cake pops andpineapple pound cake. Wow. During the
meeting, Let's go. During themeeting, didn't even face anybody there was
like, oh yeah, Starbucks. There's just some random person bringing it food
for us. Second story is we'reat the Firebirds game, which is coming
up July thirteenth, so excited forthat. No one knows I'm a secret

(31:17):
sports are for the Yeah. Isaw a Firebirds hat on his dashboard.
It is. It's not my dude. I love the Firebirds. I love
Arena football. It brings me backto Street Street Ball if he used to
play it on PlayStation. That's whatit is. It's just legal street NFL
Street It's yeah, dude. Anyway, So we're sitting we're watching the game.
I forget which one it is,and some dude is yelling out.

(31:38):
This is a this is bringing BrendanPeters into some duds, like what are
you paying the ref? And someonegoes over to brinto what are we actually
paying this ref? Then part isthe way, by the way, Yeah,
they were making calls and guests lesslike how about you pay that?

(32:00):
But I literally, I literally waspart of cutting those two because the league
paid them. But then the leaguevanished, so we were like sitting there
going all right, well, somebody'sgonna pay these guys. So like we
did, everybody decided the home teamwould pay the refs, so we literally
cut them checks that game, andlike you said, she knew exactly.
There's a point where I looked overthe one guy and like, like,
the ink's not even dry on thecheck yet. Bro, come on,

(32:21):
just call it fair. That's allI'm asking. I'm not asking for a
lot here. You know, wedon't want extra We just want fair calls.
Two questions for you, Nate realquick, because I know you're very
busy. One, give a littlelove to TikTok for you guys. How
have you guys found some success onTikTok? Right? And sixty seven thousand
followers now a few million viewed videosfor you guys, shut to Grace right,

(32:43):
Grace and Ben, which were ifyou're listening right now, you're getting
inside Scooper making. I was beingedited as we speak. Oh, it
was already shott here. That's odd. Interesting anyway, any story you didn't
put on there? I'm begging anyways. AnyWho. Yeah, so we have
been actually putting these out since February, and for some reason, this Rotto

(33:08):
one where Grace is talking about herand the Ratto just loving the Silverado blew
up just over whatever. I thinkit was June nineteenth. Actually not,
I know, I think I knowit started on June nineteenth. June nineteenth.

(33:29):
All of a sudden we start gettingthese these views and these comments were
like what is going on? Andall of a sudden we start getting comments
from Chevrolet, from Geico, fromDeath Wish Coffee, from all these major
brands. Cloud technically yeah, onethat I totally forgot about kids who thought

(33:51):
they were gone off the map,but apparently they're still alive somewhere. But
yeah, ever since that one,we're like, man, we gotta start
making more of these. I guessbecause we were doing it, you know,
probably like once a month now it'slike, all right, we gotta
like kind of put these out morefrequently, so, you know, a
lot of pressure on Grace and Ben. I'm glad I can you know,

(34:12):
be that buffer. You know, they're they're super important, So I'm glad
I can just sit in the background. That's that's the best way to do
it, right. Don't make createthe content, just judge them if it
doesn't get millions of views, isthere, I'm shooting the camera sometimes,
all right, give me some credithere. So it's so it's all it's
all office base or is it's gonnabe other shows like what how is?
It's gonna be mockumentary? Okay, because if you if you if you go

(34:35):
Seinfeld, I think I have yourCramer. I think gods could just slide
and be like, what are youguys doing? Uh, You're just gonna
continuously knock on the door of ouroffice. He wants it so bad,
like he wants want on TikTok.So like I'm sitting here talking about like
like you know, the car dealsand the EV's and everything that he goes,
what about tick talk? I'm like, what what are you talking?
Why am I not on tick talk? With each guys like you literally like

(34:59):
hijacked the ship. Oh to begyou without you hearing him Yes on TikTok.
I'm glad that you know. Thefame of Grayson Ben got me on
the show. Always welcome on theshow. Stop it, last question for
it. I mean, I don'tlike when you stay. But I had
a confessional fact the show is takingme off. I had a confessional the

(35:21):
show the fact, and it's gota lot of not mohawks ever like TikTok
viral, but a lot of questionsboth publicly that I confessed that was a
nail butter yesterday on the show. Not just a nail butter, like no,
no, no, because like people, they they bite their nails for
nerves, anxiety, things like that. That's his preferred way of grooming.
He doesn't use nail clippers. He'susing weird. Yeah, I know,

(35:46):
a little shirt. Cat shirt justsaid you're weird. No, no weird.
Well, if it's your preferred, like I do it because I'm like
nervous, there we go. Igot a lot of energy that I don't
word to go right. But youjust you have nail clippers and you will
use them. Yeah, he doesn't. He swears he just picks his toes.

(36:08):
I think he chooses toes too.I think he can you reach your
toes? That's that. None ofthese were the questions I was going to
do that can you work? Onlyone of us has ripped our pants so
far they try. All I wasgoing to ask is are you a nail
bier? But this has got acompletely different direction. I answer. I
knew you were going to pose. The question is and like, just do

(36:30):
you bite your nails? Like? And people bite their nails like if I
have a hangnail, bite them.But I when I grew up, I
was told not to. So I'mstill well. But yeah, my mother,
I catch myself and you know,I've been chewing a lot more gum.
My mother will give me the silenttreatment. I don't. I don't
need that. Maybe I was shoothis nails before he sat down. I'm
watching. I definitely was, wellnow he is because you mentioned it.

(36:51):
But it's not. But again, that's your like, that's your style of
like I'm wondering, how do youget the kids a bath like a cat?
The figured out fine, just leavealone. Thank you Nate for embracing
our lifestyle. I'm glad I haveanother one on my side, A fellow
nail by her and he's embraced. No, no, no, his his
nerves yours is. You're afraid ofnailippers. You can't work a simple lever

(37:14):
device. I'm living my best lifewithout these nail clippers. Lily was stunned
by my work earlier. She waslike, wow, you're doing a great
jobs. Keep up the good work. She also nail. Sorry, yeah,
but but she is. She rippedher off right now, looks like
out you know what you used?Nail slippers? No, I'm not funny,

(37:40):
like not didn't even flinch the factthat I knew what French tip tips
were. Yeah, but no,because you're you got a wife, and
I know what French tips are too. I mean, it's not like I
just she says, I'm a dudechick things. Do you like Dorottos?
Do you like Grotto's? Bro Marato? Scar Joe, scar Joe? By

(38:04):
the way, you park next tome today, Yeah, yes, of
course. Oh yeah, get I'llget a light bar. I'm out of
the water, bro, you canblow me out. You can't even again.
I'm back drive an LT Silverado backgroundpretty dope, I'll get it is
nice, dope. I'm back orderedthere. I'm back ordered on a light

(38:24):
bar when I get that, isit like that crazy one that goes like
right on top. It's like thatJeff Hardon had it on his That like
literally makes no sense unless you're goingbackwoods. Wow. Spoken spoken like a
guy who has light bar envy. No, No, he had. I
definitely have the light I wanted toput a light like one of those like

(38:45):
well we lights on top of mine. Because social media response you like a
Minyon, You're like an H sixminion all of a sudden became six four
Like he's just that's that's Nate.I used to have a Minion in my
car. I used to ride aroundwith the minion. Yeah, and then
the police blow right, let thething go for kid. If you would

(39:05):

I don't think it's a secret. You just told all fifteen of our listeners.

(39:52):
I uh, I'm hoping that oneday I get to pursue my dream
of being a mascot. Whoa youhear this? Nay wants to suit up.
Potentially, if Spikes out of work, I might know. I might
know a place we can we canfigure we can we'll get so, you
know what, it's hard enough tocontrol Spike. I can't imagine Nate with

(40:14):
all that energy as a mask. You kind of are like, I'm sorry,
you know a mascot, Carl Bravo. I know Carl, I know
I know of a mascot Carl. But Spike is uh, you know Spike,
Uh, what's uh South Paul? You know I am a South Paul,

(40:34):
So you know he's doing well thatI'm turning your Michael U s X
pass Control. That's that's what wego to commercial. But now we're gonna
do a live commercially. Well wehave to. It's the job, and
I want to talk about it becauseI need them again. What happened?
Yeah, with the weather and everything, I've got little ants, little little

(40:58):
little little ants have found their wayinto my kitchen. So but the thing
is, like in the past,I would be throwing an absolute fit over
this because now I can put trapsout, I canna keep the cats away
from the traffs. Can do this, I do that. The other thing
now all I have to do isgo hey, USX Pest Control. I
found little ants, and they go, okay, we got you, and
then they take care of it.As a young little league coach would say,

does it feel to know that youare being mocked or chewing your nails in
your in your prime and your rivalJJ want retired body blows you out of
the water. Let me see thisright here? Oh, I want to

(45:57):
shock Jesus went to social media toshow himself working out this post achievement.
Wow, the dude stacked. He'sstacked, he's rips go back. Yeah,
if you're maybe I have to sharethis on social media. But I
mean, you talk about somebody who'ssucking in for the camera. I mean
that's a little embarrassing. I couldyou could You could attach a pro level

(46:19):
shop back to my mouth and Icould not suck it in to do what
he's doing. Like that dude ishe's and that's the retirement. You know
what I guarantee right now, rightnow, I guarantee that picture. There's
like at least six NFL GM's going. Probably should call him see what he's
doing, to see how retired heis. He looks a little small.
Let's say, take some raid off. Maybe you're running back. He's you

(46:42):
know what he's doing. He's doingthe annoying thing, isn't he he's He's
always been annoyed by him. Andthis adds to the list. I'd say
JJ Watt play probably thirty four. He's thirty five right now. I say,
yeah, he probably played around tosixty. I'd say he's about two
five, I think to eighty. What do you think is in this photo?
Then? Probably too fiddy? Okay, all right, maybe I'm all

(47:06):
right. I thought he was alittle later. All right. I was
thinking a little later because I wasgonna say, he does the annoying thing
that all the big guys do,more so offensive lineman than lineman. Just
see, that's that's him in shaperight there. That's him. Yeah,
that's play away. That's he's notplaying anymore. Have you seen one of
the poundcs? Have you seen Ibelieve it's Marquise Pouncy. One of the

(47:27):
Bount's down to like they twins.Yes, one of them is down to
like one ninety. It's unbelievable.Say something about the big guys you can
do that. I don't understand it. I mean, it's probably the pro
athlete like willpower that allows them todo that. Like Coach Gabe for the
Firebirds is putting together a meal planeand everything for me because I was I
challenged him. I was like, dude, you know you're a trainer and
fitness guy and all this other stuff. Fix this, So he's gonna help

(47:50):
me. But I couldn't do that. You couldn't do that. You could
not do that. You're the sameage and you couldn't do that. I
could do that. See, youcould not do that. What you're trying
to do, it's the reverse psychology. It's not reverse challenge and I have
to do it. It's not reversed. I'll tell you what. All right,
listen, First of all, Nate'sone of the nicest people on the
entire planet. And Nate's in phenomenalshape. Like, agree with you,

(48:15):
that's right. Put that one wasabout to walk away and gods with me
here. No, like Nate, you you running you all that stuff,
you're actually you you swim down alittle bit. You were you were put
on a lot of muscle mass atone point. Yeah, I definitely swim
down a little bit because you knowkids, So yeah, exactly right.
Well, I mean just leave inthe park, so I'm gonna pick him

(48:36):
up. Yeah, my wife willbe really excited about that one. Well,
I just think, how happens youhave your trophy husband back, you
know. Yeah. No, butlike you're you're fit, so like you
could add muscle. It probably bea lot easier than us carving down to
look like that God. Especially guy, I feel like it's easier. I
feel like it's easier, easier, easier for you guys to turn it into

(48:59):
muscle. This is definitely not scientificat all. Well, okay, let'st's
say you guys, Gods is justa wreck. I mean, he's a
nail chewing argatiz Because if I tryto do that, I have to bulk.
I'm gonna have to eat six hundredpounds of protein a day. Tell
me more about this level of life. Let me tell you what. I

(49:19):
can't eat that much high metablism doesn'tdoesn't work for me. Right, I
never even liked you. You knowwhat, that's enough name. I don't
need to hear it oh so much. And I can't put weight on.
You don't know the struggle. It'scalled cultivating masks for big guys. Right,
you turned us off. You're talkingabout eating a lot like it was
a bad thing. That's what turnedus off. You know what. JJ

(49:43):
Watt is an amazing shape and youare jealous and you couldn't do it.
He's one of the greatest defensive endsof all time. Yeah, when I
said, that's what I was like, that's what I was thinking. And
something about something about jj Watt, guzz has hated since the day he sprung
into the national zeitgeist. You hatedhis guts. Well, the problem with

(50:07):
jj Watt goes way back. Forthose who might not be familiar, is
that remember when the Houston floods happened, JJ Watt kept posting about how don't
worry city is getting flood. Istill made it to the gym, and
I was like, can we layoff the gym? Hold on, hold
on, hold on, hold on, hold on. You mean the guy
who raised millions and millions of dollarsfor flood to relief and actually went around

(50:30):
in a boat getting people out oftheir houses. Yeah, that was after
the gym pick first it was Ithink, honestly, you think back on
it, he might have felt badabout it. That's that's the timeline.
What did you do for the floodvictims? I didn't at that point.
I didn't really know a lot aboutwhat was all because you were busy at
the gym. Well at that point, what year was that? Twenty sixteen?
I was doing some stuff push Ithink a couple of times you were

(50:52):
not. I did a jumping jack. I'm sure in twenty sixteen. I'm
pretty sure I might have jump. You might have eaten some some like jacks,
but I don't think you did. Here's the other thing you're forgetting about
JJ Watt. He's also not onlyone of these people who wants to post
their workouts on social media, buthe's also a TV person, Like he's
stay in shape for TV's one ofthose Yeah, but he doesn't have to

(51:15):
be in that kind of shape foryou. I just I can't get to
the bottom of why you hate thisman so much. I told you he
wants to make sure we all knowhow jacked he is. That that's how
he uses social media. Oh lookat me, I'm working out again.
That's that's how I describe him.Your jalousy is just insane. I'm ready

(51:35):
to battle JJ Watt right here.I did it with Joe Sykes. If
j want threw you like a ragdoll. At that point, I was
some would say a little bit betterin shape than JJ Watt. At that
point I was pretty who would saythat? Some people I was a little
lighter, like like like sight impairedmaybe people what crazy people? I'm thinking

(51:58):
about this. Listen now that weknow the major or if your diet is
fingernail, why can't you Why can'tyou get in that kind of shape?
The supposed season roster get expanded forthe upcoming Arena Football League. It's the
same roster twenty four twenty one active. Because I thought about this for a
second, I'm like, okay, you know how, I'm like a hockey.
They have the third string emergency goalie. If the playoff roster needed to

(52:21):
get expanded. Oh my god, hang on, walk this. Listen to
this for a quick second. Listen, you're listening right now across the Capitol
region. I'm on the payroll forthe Albany Firebirds. You are, so
I'm technically not working this weekend. This would be really easy. This would
be so easy. Hey, wewere gonna pay guys for the playoff game.

(52:44):
He is here. We'll just throwhim a helmet and shoulder pats and
just in case horrible things happen,we have a body if any. Britta
just left right. Yeah, shedoes some payroll stuff. If anything,
I think it's the best move forthe team. I actually do the payroll
and your thoughts. I would needyou to sign the longest waiver in the

(53:05):
history of mankind for what Because youwill die. I'm not sure you can
get over the wall. There's adoor. There is a door, and
actually we now have I've signed oneperson to open and close the door,
because I don't trust anyone anymore. And you will die. You are not

(53:25):
prepared. So you want to playoffensive line? No? Wait, what
position do you in? This amazingjust altruistic, very charitable, helpful thing
that you're offering. What position doyou envision yourself playing? For me,
it's either full back or defensive line. Offensive line. Have you have you
met Jake mallonach. Have you metNick Hag Travon Shortz? Those are full.

(53:51):
I saw those guys and I feellike they need to get a little
break. They had a lot ofbig plays coming up. They can't be
playing both. Really good chance thatthat Molonage comes here today? So four
twenty today, Jake Medlock, ourquarterback will be here. By the way,
Jake Medlock our quarterback. Like whenhe walked out today for the tame
picture, I go, oh,look at this linebacker. He's a huge
dude. You blocking for him wouldbe comical. Uh, but the Jays

(54:15):
rolled together a lot, so there'sa chance of mall that you'll be here.
So I'll tell you what, whydon't you and Malinie trying to Why
don't you try to block Molinage?Okay? And if you can block Mollinage,
we might take you seriously. Perfect. And I'd also like his number
because I want to wear forty four, so we're gonna have to see definitely
not you'd have to help his buttonpractice to get his number. I think

(54:35):
forty four, guys? Is it? Then? Just his family has ordered
fan jerseys with that number on it, So all right, just do me
a favorite run, but you werelike fifty five or something number fifty.
Just run it by coach where justsay hey, if things happened this week,
gos is on the payroll. Hesaw the JJ Watt photo, he
will consider exercising before Saturday. Foryou guys, Hey, can you watch

(54:59):
a lot of between now and Monday, because I'm gonna get a co host
because someone's gonna die if I letthis happen. Leva can live from his
hospital room pulling Hugh Freeze. It'swhat's left of gods? Guys? What's
going? How are you feeling?Guys? Not? Good? God's hurt?
Bad? JJ Watt great? Menot. That's the saddest part about

it be busy. What I'm gonnastart the closer. You can offer your
tikes here for the top four fourwe're gonna start starving form and toss into
the Levac. First, we've gotnews involving one of the best defensive players

(01:02:29):
in the NFL, no longer withthe same name. Josh Allen of the
Jacksonville Jaguars, a former first rounddraft pick, double digit sack numbers,
one of the best players for theJags who could be a playoff team in
twenty twenty four, has changed hisname to Josh Hines Allen, now the
Hinds last name. His relatives havehad success in sports, both at the

(01:02:49):
colleted level. One of his relativesdrafted by the Golden State Warriors. If
this goes way back to draft day, although Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills
and Josh allenl of the Jags areboth top ten picks, nobody wanted to
bunch on a middle initial nothing butfact. Do you think this is more
about honoring the family the legacy, more about a marketing technique or a little
bit of mix of both. Withthe decision to change his name, I

(01:03:10):
think this is a great giveback froma player to an organization to give him
a bit and he for new jerseys. But I need you know what I
mean, Like, I just here'syour paycheck, Okay, boss, I
figured out a way to get thatmoney right back, I am now,
Jake BigDog medlock. Now that's whathe's actually walking in right now? Do

(01:03:32):
that right now? Yeah, Sothat's I think that's what I think it
was. I think it was astrategic move on this part closer same questioning
marketing ploy definitely, but also don'twant to be caught in the wishwash of
the Josh Allen stories. Like here, Josh Allen, to anyone who's watching
football, you're a be able toget to think the quarterback. This is
a way to differentiate that make alittle bit of money on the side.

(01:03:53):
I think it's a really smart moveby him and the Jacksonville Jaguars. I
need to see it. I'm surprisedmore athletes don't do this and embrace it.
I feel like in the future, like here's a great example, Stephen
A. Smith. His name isSteve Smith. The very just added the
a. We know who we're talkingabout. Steve Smith Senior, the Carolina
panther wide receiver. Like my oneof my favorite ones I think in history

(01:04:15):
is an athlete by the name ofJohn Smith. Well, who is he?
You know? Juju Smith Schuster's nameis Johnson. Juju Smith Schuster feels
the furthest away from John Smith.I think a lot more people understand this
now. Yeah, like Tom Gozlowski, the third did not get you noticed,
so you became Todd mcclowsky. That'ssort of also known as Ghazi Bear.

(01:04:36):
Yeah, they'll SEEBS six people inthat already firebird chat room. And

Close. I'm gonna offer this oneup to you first. If we did

(01:04:57):
a closer power ranking. That's right, love back got a specialty. Do
you have the Phillies at one andthe Dodgers at two? So is this
truly the best teams in baseball facingoff? Or do you think someone squeezing
between them? I'm happy you putthe top two. I didn't want you
to go Mount Rushmore on here shoveeveryone out the doors. I'll try.
I'll drag you behind an EV blazer. The crazy part is I could sit

(01:05:17):
here and say, as a Yankeefan that I would have to argue this
otherwise. But the way the Yankshave been playing the last three weeks,
I don't know if I can makethat argument. So looking at the matchup
the way it is now currently constituted, in the beginning or at this point,
almost middle of July, yeah,I do think these are the two
best teams in baseball, and nowwe're getting that chance to see them at
least in this capacity before we getto early September and then the playoffs started

(01:05:42):
taking shape. But if you askme right now in July, who are
the best two best teams in baseball? Are? I agree? I think
it's Phillies and Dodgers. Levac's samequestion, to you, top two teams
in baseball facing off in this DodgersPhillies matchup? Uh, definitely Phillies.
I mean, the Phillies are aretop of the food chain at this moment.
You know, basically, as longas as long as it's it's like
Phillies Dodgers, the Yankees. Hugedrop off for the Baltimore Orioles, who

(01:06:04):
have just been lucky to be wherethey are, had a big back and
forth today with Nick Haig. Yeah, they had Socksy catch you here,
we com We'll come home. I'mlike, dude, we had like the
worst like run in the history ofbaseball and you couldn't catch us. So
go back and watch the Town again. It's his favorite movie. I so

(01:06:27):
badly want to put the Orioles here. By the way, Higgs Haro was
perfect today. We'll talk about thatcoming up a little bit. I so
badly want to put the Orioles here, but it's hard for me against the
Phillies and the Dodgers. Say whatcan Baltimore do better than both of those
loops? I guess that's not wrong. But the pitching staffs are better.
If Baltimore makes a move with thedeadline and brings in another arm, then
we can have a conversation about Baltimorebeing team number one or team number two.

(01:06:49):
Just but Phillies pigeon staff is betterthe Dodgers overall powers everything's better for
those two teams. The only benefitBaltimore gets they're in the American le They
don't have to worry about facing offthem against both these teams. They get
to the World Series, they're likelygetting one of those teams from the National
League, which we're gonna stick herewith his story number two, involving the
series getting underway between the New YorkMets and Washington Nationals. Tonight, Levak,

(01:07:13):
you'll remember this. I pinpointed thisseries in particular and said, depending
on the results of this Nationals Metsseries, it'll decide whether or not the
Mets become sellers or buyers at thedeadline. Right now, the Nationals are
five and a half games back, the Mets are two and a half games
back. With those spots, we'retalking about the top three spots in the
wildcard for the National League. GuysI know have said closer Leve Ackers,

(01:07:35):
I'm going first on my own question. All right, I don't like buying
ticket anymore. I thought this seriesis gonna be a lot more important,
and I don't think that's the truthanymore. It feels like New York has
to stay in this race and Washington'sfalling off. So no matter what,
whether they sweep Washington year, whetherthey take it to the weekend, and
they feel like they're in contention. It feels like it's that two and a
half mark. They're gonna stay incontention. Off if they lose two or

(01:08:00):
three, keep it within four. The Mets are gonna play this thing out.
Lobaco turned to you first, Doyou feel like that's the take?
This can pull back a little bitbecause the Nationals aren't as good as they
were about a month ago. Ithink the significance pulled back because the goal
for the Mets this year is thefuture. I know that they're playing five
hundred ball. I know they've steppedup a little bit, but realistically speaking,

(01:08:20):
if you're in that front office, any move you make is gonna be
based on how to get better nextyear or or if less, some kind
of crazy thing drops in your lap. So I've never thought it was as
important as you do, and Istill don't. It's amazing to think,
too, is we didn't think anygame at this point for the Mets season
about a month and a half ago, would be important, And all of

(01:08:42):
a sudden, you make a runlike they did, and now you're looking
at it, what two and ahalf games out? Ultimately, I think
I agree with the back this isgonna be about the future, So guys
like Peter a Lonzo are probably goingto get moved. You're gonna have to
have the talk with Lindor and alot of the guys that are going to
be on the team next season saying, guys, I know it's not gonna
look great when we start making moveslike this and now the be getting in

(01:09:03):
September. We're still battling maybe toget a wildcard. But if you,
as any Mets fan to start thisseason, if they said you'll make the
wildcard and then maybe Blake being theplayoffs, they would be ecstatic about that.
So I think that's ultimately the goals. I agree with you guys.
The way you changed your you know, thoughts on this series. I don't
think it's as important as it mighthave bet, but you stopped agreeing with
you. We think you'd be incorrectif this ends up being four and a

(01:09:27):
half or five, where it's evenworse for the antony all start breaking like
gosh, how canna be wrong twiceon one take. Let's hope it sits
right around three or four. That'swhat I hope it's gonna be a semi
right. And story number one,it's the new York Yankee sticking on the
Tampa Bay race Tonight, first pitchset for six fifty and a batter between
two Al East teams. I'm gonnaturn to my left here. He is
a New York Yankee family, havecloser. You support the Yankees as well,

(01:09:48):
but Levec, it feels like thisseries is important for Carlos, Earl
Don, the al E standings Tampaand we just came out on a conversation
about the Mets. What is Tampagonna do with their aspects New York?
Obviously? Is this the most importantgame so far of this season for Carlos
Rodon and the Yankees. It's justas I didn't ask either of those questions

(01:10:11):
Twitter, but don't edit AI isgonna say I asked that question. I
did not. The storyline I wantedto do was is this none of though
h Levaca for the New York Yankees? How badly do they need this game?
Uh? In a perfect world, they're gonna They're gonna go four and
two at worst, and these intothe All Star Break two and one,

(01:10:32):
two and one. You know youdon't win tonight, you need to win
the next two. The real thingfor me is figuring out what the issue
is. They're still an extremely talentedteam. Roodinan did not forget how to
pitch. He'll went out and pitchgreat, and then you know, maybe
you should have been pulled out alittle earlier. But they know how to
play baseball. I don't think there'sany one thing that's changed. It's like

(01:10:54):
a mindset thing. So if youtold me that they right after the All
Star Break they're gonna flip back intobeing the masters that they were before,
then I would say this game meansnothing. But I think to get there,
to become mentally right, they needto go out there and slap the
razor und a little bit. It'samazing to think too, that when things
were going good with the Yankees inthe middle of May, it was like,

(01:11:15):
oh, well, we'll overlook thatmaybe if heel has a rough start,
or that rodn didn't stop the bleeding, or that Stan Bulgome runs in
the middle of and then finally Cole'scoming back. But he had a rough
start against the Mets, so youoverlook that stuff. But now it feels
like the sky is falling, soeverything is pushed to being a big deal.
No, it's not a big deal. They're still one of the best

(01:11:36):
teams in baseball. Yes, thereare problems that they need to fix,
and I believe over the next threeweeks you're gonna see Brian Cashman and the
rest of the Steinbeers get together andsay we gotta get another arm, probably
the bullpen, gotta fix the issuesof teams stealing all over the Yankees,
and maybe get another bat in therethat can help them. But there's moves

(01:11:57):
that's going to be if it's notthe same Yankee team, you're gonna see
most likely and then probably the beginningof August. So do I think this
is an important start? Yes?Do I think it's a must win or
anything like that? And because ourhorse race leading off to that, he's
leading off, why not we mighthave to do that in the third hour.
Look at that line. That's aninteresting because our horse racing insider primary
I was sitting in front of I'mgonna use a horse racing analogy about this

(01:12:19):
New York Yankees going. I hopefullyyou're appreciating, and this when it comes
to the Yankees, they got wayout in front. They the Orioles way
out in front. Especially more soabout the wildcard teams. Teams are getting
closer. Nobody's caught him yet andthey haven't hit the stretch yet. There's
a lot of time to turn iton even more that can pull ahead then
go to the postseason. So allthree of us agreed, and a weird

(01:12:41):
way to get there. That significancewise of this match against the Rays,
because it's still a little bit ofa lead over the wildcard teams, not
that big of a series. Thingscan get worse. The All Star Game
is coming at the right time,of the Ull Star Break is coming at
the right time, but they've gotto lead. No concern quite yet about
missing the postseason for New York, especially for the Yankees. Right now.
The one team that they can beatin the American League. He's pretty well

(01:13:02):
is the race so far this season. So maybe this is a get back
series, get back on track yetsix games left before the All Star break,
and then a team that desperately needsit can then reset and then have
the second half. Well, Beck, I've enjoyed this. We have a

No, I've never been part ofsome like this before, and it's been

You were out six years. Let'sgo through that story because there might be

(01:20:38):
some people here on Fox Sports whohave not heard this story. Oas has
been out for a little while. He thinks he can get back here.
Twelve years, twelve years, Dthree shout out the whole bar. But
for you take us to that journeyof what happened, why was the layoff,
and what brought you back out ourtime. So my last year was
with Tucson Sugar Skulls, the firstyear they were a team in the IFL.

(01:20:58):
After this season, I ever gotreached out to by Shorter University in
Georgia where DJ Wolden or DN played, where I actually coached him. They
offered me the receiver job. Itook it because that was my dream to
coach college. I went for Shorterfor a year. Then I went up
to Missouri Southern State University to cocoach with coach Simms that used Topeak Garden
City. He's actually was on lastchance you when independence, when all that

(01:21:21):
was going through it. So Iwas there for a year. We got
let go during COVID, which sucked. Then I went to a high school
in Georgia. It was a highschool job that they weren't very good.
They haven't won games and decades, never put up points. And I was
there for one year. We averagedthirty eight points a game, beat the

(01:21:41):
number four team in the state ofGeorgia that year. I mean, we
were doing some good things. Andthen right after the season, I was
offered the quarterback job pass game coordinatorjob at Kataba College and I took it
because I wanted to be back incollege. Enjoyed it. Head coach was
there for twelve years. I didn'tdo my research too well because he resigned
at the end of season. SoI was one year again in college and

(01:22:03):
it was out, and so Iwas kind of frustrated. I ended up
working for a company called Jenkins Elite, which is a quarterback company, quarterback
training company. Actually the quarterback atBillings Harker, was part of that company
as well. So I knew Harkerreally well. So I was there for

(01:22:25):
just a company. Titus will bein my phone and do you think you're
funny? So I was there fora couple of months. I just wanted
to do my own thing. Ididn't want to I've been working for so
many people for so long and justdidn't trust the process and everything. So
I decided to go on my ownown business quarterback training. Uh started doing

(01:22:45):
that, and then I started helpingout at Flagler Palmcos High School, where
I'm the office coordinator still to thisday. One of my buddies from Valdosta
State is the head coach. We'recreating a pretty big powerhouse right now down
there. And uh, so Iwas there coaching with him, and Mark
well Wade contacted me. I wouldsay it was right when Malik got signed

(01:23:06):
by Edmonton and Wade said one moreyear. I said no with an exclamation
point, and so I you know, then where reached out to me?
I said, coach, I don'tknow, blow, you know, I
just I'm enjoying in twenty eighteen andSean Brown with Cedar Rapid Titans. Wow.
So Sean was the center, Iwas a quarterback and Mark WORL Wade

(01:23:28):
was one of the receivers. Andwhere was the coach? Then? Where
it was the coach was oc Soyou know, I was there just trying
to figure out because now coach Warereached out to me, I said,
I don't know. So then Wadecontacted me one more time. He's like,
all right, listen, one moreyear, give me one more year,
and let's see what happens. Let'sgo do what we did and see
the rapids. I was like, all right, now, now you're starting

(01:23:50):
to set the hook a little bit. And so I talked to coach where
I said, give me a coupleof days to think about it. I've
been training, working out every day, and so I was I throw every
day because of course I'm with kidsand high school kids, college kids,
professionals, and uh, I knewI could still rip it. And so

(01:24:11):
I went out one night start doingwith some of the guys and they,
uh, a bunch of the professionalguys. Jimmy Robinson, who's my receiver
coach, he's a he's one ofthe front runners MVP in the i FL
too, which is kind of cool, and he's like, dude, just
do it, do it one moretime. You still got it. So
I was like, you know, what, screw it. What do I
got to lose? So I calledcoach where I said, I'm coming,

(01:24:33):
and uh, he was very excited, and and that's how that's how it
happened. So many young players intheir careers have to welcome to the league
moment they go from college professional. You go from high school to college.
Did it feel like for you howto welcome back moment? Was it a
first practice to it meeting when somebodythought you were a linebacker? Yeah,

(01:24:54):
so it was. You know, when you first get there, there's there's
guys that when you walk in,like, oh, what position are blah
blah blah and coach ware when Ifirst saw him, he's like, Jesus,
dude, you look nothing like eighteen. You look like a linebacker.
I go, yeah, dude,I've been training when he plays for the
Winnipeg Blue Bombers and we're squating fivehundred plus pounds and doing reps and doing
crazy stuff. So yeah, I'mgonna blow up, and he goes he

(01:25:15):
just started laughing. So then Ifound out one of the rookies was sitting
there and he's like, man, what physic does that guy play? And
so I walked up to him.I go, yeah, man, I
play linebacker. And so they're allsitting there looking waves looking like, dude,
you're a jerk and that's just whoI am, and you know,
joking around. And then we goto first practice and here I am playing

(01:25:35):
quarterback and the kid goes, youplay quarterback and you're that big. I
go, hey, dude, workingout it helps. I'm just so fascinated
by this because not only are youa big guy, you're six four six
five sixty three. Okay, soI think you're underselling yourself. No,
that's the funniest thing. Though.Everyone thinks I'm six five. I am
six three, and it's been likethat since college because I'm so much bigger

(01:25:57):
than everybody that they're like, oh, dude, he's like six it has
to be the big. We hadcoach Draken here, who's the coach of
Union football. He played at CentralMichigan. He's about six or five.
He's a quarterback as well. Fromhis past where I'm thinking, like his
father was a coach, your dadwas a coach. It seems like at
times like if you're a bigger kid, it might not always be the quarterback
position. Were you always going tobe a quarterback? To do the growth

(01:26:17):
spur tickets for that? So Iwas actually pop Warner and first year of
middle school, I was a linebacker. I didn't play quarterback, but I
always had a big arm and mydad's like, you know what, let's
try it and see what happens. So I made the move. So other
words, you didn't have a quarterbackon that team. I was going to
be a freshman. My dad didn'thave a freshman quarterback and so my dad's

(01:26:39):
been known as QBU during his fortytwo year career, which he just retired.
And he's like, you're going tobe the quarterbacks like that. I'm
five foot nine, bro, Like, what are we doing? He's like,
just trust it. So I freshmanyear I didn't play. Was pissed.
I was still I'm still mad aboutit to this day at him and
he knows it. We're playing homecoming. Every kid played me and we went

(01:27:00):
seventy to nothing. I was theonly kid who didn't get in, and
so I was pissed about it.I went and talk to my dad for
weeks and uh so, then thenext year, there was a senior and
a junior in front of me.The senior threw a pick six and fumbled.
Then my dad took him out,put the junior and the junior and
did something wrong, and then heput me in at quarterback and IF threw

(01:27:20):
a wheel route for a touchdown. Was my first high school throw. And
then from there on I was aquarterback and I was still five to nine
is five to ten, and thenat the end of my sophomore year,
I went from five to ten tosix three and so then my dad goes,
oh, we got something now.So it just took time to grow
into the body. In Valdosta State, if I still remember this, credit

(01:27:40):
a powerhouse of Division two. Likeif you talk about the best Division two
program in the country, Valdosta Statemight be. Was that always the thought?
What was the recruiting process select toeventually end up there? So I
was at FIU first from twenty tento ill just leave if you want to.
I mean, soy FO four teamI was with coach Crysto Baal.
Coach Chris fah recruited me, gaveme a second chance. I blew my

(01:28:03):
shoulder out at in high school. Now the coach of Miami Hurricanes, yes,
yes, for those one of thegreatest coaches ever. Now you better
have some tough skin and would workhard because if not, he's gonna eat
you live. And until this day, I tell people all the time,
if it wasn't for him, Iwouldn't be as tough as I am today,
but played for him. When hegot fired, I left and I
was going to grab transfer and goplay at app State with coach Sadderfield who's

(01:28:27):
now at Cincinnati. But I butsome things didn't happen at FIU, right,
Uh So I basically said I'm going. I told my dad's like,
let's find a D two. Let'sgo D two. Because we didn't have
the whole transfer portal and all thatcrap, which I wish we did.
You know, you had to sitout a year, and I wasn't.
I didn't want to sit out,you know, for my senior year.

(01:28:48):
So it was between Valdosta State NorthwestMissouri State, and I was not going
to the cold. I was notgoing out there. I hate the cold.
And we complained about this year.Oh absolute, absolutely it's nice outside.
But you know, so I madea decisions go to Valdosta State and

(01:29:08):
man just being there, like gettingrecruited who I was, Adam Frohman,
Doug Belk who's now the dB coachat USC, David Dean, who just
retired. I mean, being aroundthose guys, it was awesome. You
know. Andy Richmond, he's theOC now at Eastern Kentucky and just learning
the air raid offense and being apart of that powerhouse school. Like when

(01:29:29):
you walk into Valdosta, if youdon't win, they will get you out,
like literally, they will run youout of town. And it does
for the pop Warner to middle school, to high school to the D two
school at Valdosta State. The ADactually just retired this year and I was
reading what he has has an adwhat we've won. He has forty five

(01:29:51):
Gulf South Conference championships of all sportsand nine national titles. Have yourself a
career career video game right here?Yeah? Oh dude, he he was
awesome. I propps to him agreat career. But you know it was
good. It was the best decisionI ever made. I fell in love

(01:30:12):
with the game again after what Iwent through. And you know, love
Valdost stay for what they did. They took me and I was won their
own and still to this day theyshowed me love. Fireber's quarterback, Ja've
medlock with us. Right now,we're live up at Mohawks Chevrolet. Andy
Gelcher's not here. He's his lights. See he's that corner up there where
those lights aren't on. He musthave known we were gonna hang out,
and he didn't want a part ofit. But I was. You mentioned

(01:30:34):
you know that you know you've beenworking out with linebackers. So have you
always been a mobile quarterbacker? Isthat's something that you developed as you got
a little a little thicker and readyto take it. I would I always
say it became more mobile as Igot to FIU. I tried to be
that mobile guy in high school. And when you have guys around you run
four two, five, forty's andfour threes, and you know the Florida
speed, you don't look very mobile. So I didn't have to run.

(01:30:58):
But once I got to FIU,I got, you know, gaining muscle
working out and I started running. And they were like, all right,
Jake, you're two twenty five atsix three, we're gonna use you as
a power back on short yards andget ready to run the ball. And
uh so we did a little mixtureof everything, and as I got older,
it just was part of my game. Seed the rapids. When I
played for coach Ware, I neverran. I didn't have to. I

(01:31:20):
just had to do it around theyard the whole game. But in Tucson,
they I ran it. I rana lot of ball, and you
know, Coach Chin was like, dude, you're big. We're gonna use
it. Dude, you're you're twodynamic. Go ahead, guys. I
have a question, But coach Wareis not gonna like this question. I
don't know if Jake's gonna like thisquestion. I don't want to punch him.
No, no, no, Idon't want to compare this to like

(01:31:40):
the ninety bulls in the Last Dance. But you've talked so much about your
career and in the game and thencoaching, and then this isn't the last
dance run here? Like have youalready said this is it? Like?
Are we gonna have a twenty twentythree see? You know, I'm prepping
him for media week and I'm preppingan ext to t President. So I've
been asked this question multiple times. My dad, we haven't had this conversation

(01:32:01):
yet. You say you tell thetruth that I'm gonna tell you what I
think is gonna happen. My dadasked me every week, every week,
every week. Oh, my dadwatches our games like no other. I
mean, my my mom's screaming. She cussed me out after the game when
I try to jump over the guyand bit and she's like, you're thirty
two years old. You need tokeep your butt on the ground and not
giving me a heart attack, likemom tired getting cut, like I got

(01:32:25):
scars on my shin. I'm theguy was gonna cut me, I'm gonna
jump over him, and uh butI'll tell you what. The right things
happen and the body stays healthy, like I'm feeling right now, you will
see me back all right? Good. That's because so I know, I've
learned a little bit about coach ware. So coach waars his belief is,

(01:32:47):
you know, you you have youryour guy, your stud, your star
now which is Jake, and youdevelop the next guy that will hopefully one
day take over. And I feellike he thinks he has that set up
pretty nicely right now because you've gotJake Medlocke. And then you know we
we saw low Daci come in fora couple of minutes and he looked too
shabby either. So who I thoughtwas a quiet dude, he cuts it

(01:33:11):
up too. He does the thingabout lou Is Lou's a dog that people
don't realize. He's a quiet assassinand the cool thing is is this off
season, He's actually come down toFlorida with me, and I'm I don't,
I don't. I don't like thisplan. He's gonna come back chewing
tobacco. Nah, he's gonna beHe's gonna be working out with me and

(01:33:33):
training with all my my college andprofessional guys. We're gonna probably be at
the u CF indoor facility and I'mgonna get some of his technical flaws out
and you know, get him ready, because that's the ultimate goal. I
mean, I got probably if Istay healthy, three years left. But
it's just the only time will tell. You've now been the list with coach,

(01:33:56):
said Coach Hollis of coaches who havebeen asked if they're gonna retire,
not who've been retired, but thenmaybe they work it. So Ja Rich,
that's right, j Rich. Yeah, so you Alvin added to the
list of lave Hacking guys. Willthey won't retire the show. Yeah,
So there's there's time Like Darius Prince, Dwayne Hollis, I think there should
be a camera guy who follows himaround twenty four sec the two Jakes,

(01:34:17):
you and Malditch. I think thereshould be a camera that follows you to
around because I just I can't.I can't quite put a finger out every
time I see you guys in yourtogether, I want to stop doing what
I'm doing and go do what youguys are doing. Oh man, what
Jake is a great dude. Uh. And the funny thing about that too,
is he met my little brother fourmonths before I met him. My

(01:34:40):
little brother was the strength coach atGeorgia Southern, where his where Jake's college
roommate was a quarterback at for hislast year, Kyle Van Trees. So
they actually met each other. Didn'tknow it till Jake knew that. I
like when I we you know, you stay for Anton. Hey, my
name is Jake Medlock, I'm fromJacksonville, Florida. I have a brother
and this, this and this, you know, and he's like Sam Medlock,

(01:35:01):
I know that name, Georgia Southern. I just met the guy,
and so you know, from thatday on, me and Jake have had
a good relationship. I actually tookhim back. He actually took me to
Rochester during the break. I spentthree days up there. We flew down
to Orlando for two days. Lethim see a little bit of Orlando.
And then we went to the lakehouse, to my parents' lake house,
and he got to meet the familyand it was huh hilarus that he looks

(01:35:27):
like an undercover cop. Oh thethings had happened at the lake house.
I can't even just sorry. Asthe team president of the Aubuny Firebirds,
those stories will be released in Jake'smemoirs years after he's done play. Just
from meeting my cousins man and himgoing on from New York and they all
just look at him. Oh,it was hilarious. He had a good

(01:35:50):
time. You know, the foodwas unbelievable. All right, So,
knowing that Jake's your guy, Jakeguys earlier he hates j. J.
Watts so much that he said hefeels like he could get ready to play.
And since he's not working this weekendbecause the CBS Sports is setting their

(01:36:11):
broadcasters, he's offered to take Jakespot and play. What do you think?
Do you think can I take theforty four? At least that's a
big number in Syracuse, Like,do you think he let me wear forty?
You think he has He's from Rochester. That number goes way back in
that family, so you could tryto get off his back. I don't
know if you'll win that one passactually go ahead. He was he wants,

(01:36:34):
he wants to block for you.Absolutely, Just don't let no one
touch me. That's you. Youbetter get look at this. I felt
like a coach vibe there, andthat felt little. Just don't let no
one touch me. No good.I feel like I feel like that ends
like three plays in. Jake onhis back, Go get him off the
field, Get forty four back outhere. My shoulder does kind of hurt

(01:36:55):
now that you didn't have to tourlabor and stretch it enough. We do
have to talk about the game, right, Let's talk about this Liberty team
you're gonna face off against. Whenyou watch the team on film, what
stands out to you? They're agood team. You know they've got a
lot of vets on that team.I know coach O'Neill personally. He was
in Dodge City when I was inwichital so I kind of have an idea

(01:37:15):
how he is. He's a defensiveminded guy. He's going basically make me
take everything underneath. He's not gonnalet me go deep because he knows that's
my game. Especially when you gotsix out there and twenty one and zero
and eleven and now twenty two IsaiahScott, I mean, holy smoke,
how do you pick is it?They're all open at least just ask them.

(01:37:36):
They trust me. They let meknow very quick I was Open's the
only is not going to give youa super hard time. It's more of
a like, hey, yeah,it's exactly what it is. But no,
it's just we got so many weapons, you know, just take what
they give me. And you knowthat's what that's happening against Billions, That's
what happened against Orlando. And youknow, I'm just gonna keep taking the

(01:37:56):
giving. I mean, you gottatackle our guys good luck. You know,
our our guys are so shifty withthe ball in their hands. Even
DP, at being thirty four yearsold, he still got a little juice
in the tank and he's hard totackle. And did you hear him what
he said about you today? Ohhe's no telling what he said. Yeah,
it was so Andy Glcher, youknow, one of the owners here
at Mohawk and know the Firebirds. He looked at DP when he came out

(01:38:18):
for the picture and goes, we'rehanging eighty this weekend right, like you
know, just you know, beingAndy and ryling. Everybody up DP goes
talk to chick. Oh shock,it was great. He was like,
you know, because look, Iyou have that other weapon you run and

(01:38:39):
like and I know and I havenever seen once where you've run the ball.
It could be for it could befor forty five yards of a touchdown.
And somewhere on the field is DPgoing. I was open. Oh
he got the one that I ranand jumped over a guy in billions.
He was like, you could havethrown me the ball. I said,
yeah, but there was open grass. I'm out the gate. Brother like,
hey, I'm sorry. Let's talkabout the whole crowd advantage too.

(01:39:01):
This is the home playoff game.Well it mean for you and your teammates
to have that firebird support on it. I'll tell you what I've been.
You know, I was here ineighteen for a week and I just remember
how packed it was, and Iwould love to walk out of that runway
or breeze or whatever you want tocall it, and they call my name
and that place is packed out, rocking I want. I mean, Solana

(01:39:26):
ran from us earlier in the year. What better way to just show them
of what it's like to be anall me than pack our house and make
it loud, obnoxious, harder forthem to hear. But also watch this
win. I mean we're bringing there. We brought back the Firebirds. There's
no more ab anymore, and there'snone of that. This what these owners
have done. Jeff is done.Everyone at Mike and Andy and even DP

(01:39:50):
and all those guys in the offseason. We're building something special here and it's
something special for the long run.And to come out and see this place
be packed loud would be the greatestthing as we go and take on Solina.
The only thing I don't like aboutJake Menlocky, he's a Red Sox
fan. The only yeah, itis the only thing. I thought I
only had to deal with hag inshorts. I didn't know at too like,

(01:40:13):
I won't be obnoxious with it,you know again, I didn't know
it's right now, I won't.I won't be that guy that's going to
take the knife and turn it onyou. But you know, back in
the day, Big Poppy Manny Ramirez, Jeter Royer, you can you can
say you got respect for the forthe Laser Show. Yeah, you know
Kurt Shilling, Uh, ketchup inthe sock, No, my favorite,

(01:40:35):
you're ready, Tim Wakefield, knuckleball. I used tobber pitch all day.
I hate that guy. I hateI hate that guy in a respectful way.
The rest of the ones you said, terrible, bad human means yeah,
Higgs falling around, how I Yankeesdoing? And he hugging me,
and then short shells out something aboutwanting to do a Celtic's victory parade,

(01:40:58):
and we booed him. It wasgreat. Uh, well, we we
love that you chose to come back. We love that you chose him come
back here. It has been atrue experience on and off the field.
And uh, let's let's keep thistrain rolling absolutely on the road to Dreamland.
What a better placed the American dream. It's Jake just dropping a dime.
I love it all right, listen, let's not let's not wait this

(01:41:20):
long and do it again. Maybenext week after the victory. Come on,
we'll talk a little more. Let'sdo it. Actually I may not
be here, so it may beJake, Jake and I we'd probably be
pretty busy down in Jersey. Well, Mack, you set you up with
maybe the best segue of All TimeDreamland talking about sleeping Integrated Sleep Center,

one is it's amazing. It keepsmy bottom jaw forward just a little bit,
keeps the airway open, snoring isunder control. I can breathe at
night. It is a big,big difference maker. And I'm thrilled the

nickname him Lifo last in first half. That's not bad to add to your

(01:49:02):
many personalities. Todd McCloskey, GhaziBear, Tommy Corporate Life, O LIFEO
Lifo Goslaski. This has now becomea tradition. Body. Yeah, Well,
we're live at Mohawks Chevrolet. Ryanshows up four forty five for the
play of the day. The cardinalkeeps track. You have something here,
by the way, you were right, my two my two person home run

(01:49:23):
parlay see your head is that itdidn't wow? Mind did close? Yeah
yesterday? Drum roll? Please? What is in here that's the worst?
Back? Thanks to our friends atC four, proud sponsors with little vac
and gals Right here the Cardinal bringsus a C four who has now joined

(01:49:44):
us again for this upcoming summer. The C four bank Roll Challenge is going
to be underway starting this Thursday,so make sure you continue to follow our
picks. We're gonna be competing withour friends from Quinn Cantara picks one oh
six. Whatever your C four favoriteflavor is, you gotta let us know
on social media. The popsicles revamalon Stewart's and Speedway. But right now,
jam, this is a no Nateall Yeah, take goss like in

(01:50:11):
the pass and just chogged it.It's done to work. I thought you
were gonna drink that one. I'mgonna put this in there that looks you're
gonna have the first if you gonnahave a Smart Energy bankrel challenges back with
a little bit of vai least welove four but that on the TikTok Smart
Energy Bankroll Challenges Back can't tarrow wonit last year I'm gonna wear it win

(01:50:34):
it this year with the horse racing, I'm gonna I'm gonna actually cheat and
get somebody to help me because soI don't lose. But a question for
watching watching Nate drink that I justI'm starting to question myself and weird with
there it is used to get more. Yeah, he's smart. It's a
good flavor, man. I mean, Cherry line Mads my one of my

(01:50:55):
favorites. But midnight cherries right upthere. You can't always find these zero
sugar. It's a it's an youcan explosivenergy. You can feel. I
don't want to get Levak mad orwe have Firebird members here, Lego guy,
he's here. There he is,there's my guy. Don't acknowledge Sam.
You guys can put your hands overyour ears. Ryan, I gotta
ask you this question because you coverthe Firebird for no credentials required. Yep,
you are a media member. Whatdo you feel about this? Now

(01:51:16):
you are not incial media member?Counts, what do you feel about this
matchup coming up on Saturday against theLine? Well kind of ask a question
for sure. I love Vac addressedit yesterday, but Islama gonna show up.
This time. Yes, they're gonnashow up this time, Okay,
because because I know, I knowon their logo it has the liberty torch,
but I kind of want to.I wanted to replace it with a
white bag the last time they weresupposed to come here. So here's the

(01:51:40):
thing. And I'm I'm a fanof making fun of all of these these
people, and I will do itat some point. But yeah, like
there's a big difference between what wasit then a sliding schedule getting a team
to go, like pay twenty thirtygrand to come here and get their asses
kicked, which is what would havehappened. Now it's to set my final
round of the playoff. You don'tcome for this, Well, if you

(01:52:01):
don't come for this, it's notwhat they're not. You're gonna be in
the ANFL next year. It's whetheror not any league is gonna take you,
because why are you playing if youdon't go to play for the for
the semi finals, we're gon we'regonna win, don't get me wrong,
but you know, but still, like come on now, like so I
I I would love to pick onthem even more than than I already do,
but uh, but no, yes, they will be here. It

(01:52:21):
will it will happen. Yeah,I would like to make fun of them
as well, but I but they'rethey're like Midlock said Jake Bedlock said in
the last segment, it's a solidteam. It's a solid team, pulled
a lot of veterans. Well coach, it's there, They're well coached.
I mean you can say that aboutall four teams. I mean we're the
best. Well is the best coachteam. Have you met where I've met

(01:52:43):
him? I'm kidding, Damn,I love you talking on the show.
That can be a good matchup. It likes to be a solid matchup,
both teams fighting for potentially what couldbe on Arena Bull Birth at the American
Dream Mall, which is a wildevent. Come on, we gotta play.
That's the roads theme. I'm leaving. This is two segments in a

(01:53:06):
row. I feel like a thirdwheel on my own show. Would you
like to lead off with your playthe day? How about that? I
got the twitters ready, alright, ready, I'm so mad. I was
so close yesterday. But the horseshoehanger, and it's if you don't want
to go first, I had minealready fired up in my brain and this
midnight cherry. By the way,see four phenomenal, especially on penstrikee parlay.
Yankees are gonna win. We're gettingback on the winning side. You

(01:53:28):
got a homer from Judge and thenon the alt strikeout line six plus strikeouts
for Rodan. That's the right there. Plus four oh two. You like
me. Every time you give mea number that's higher than like plus three
fifty, I get excited, likethe plus four hundreds, five hundred,
six hundreds. That is the stuffthat you're looking for a parlay to play,
and they get value. I likevalue. You know me. I'm

(01:53:49):
a value bro. Not in hishead. Yes, they're you can get
the best value here at Mohawks Chevrolawhere we currently are, and one of
these EV blazers. It does noteven need much gas. I think that
thing is sick. If I wasgonna stop driving a pickup, it would
be one of these EV blazers.Jake Medlock said that he is a Red
Sox fan, which I've caught offguard by native. I thought he'd maybe

(01:54:13):
he picked the Braves or maybe adifferent team. Here's my play for him.
Over, I played for him. That's right, over, boy fell
in love you fell in love. You know what, I gotta tell you
the second person this summer to tellme you got to crush on Jake Medlock
and you are not in the otherone's league. Looks wise. My wife
is out of town for a fewdays. Jake, want to throw a

(01:54:33):
pass, I'll catch it. Overten and a half runs for A's Red
Sox tonight. I hit two overs. Yesterday I had double overs with a
cash We're doing it again tonight.I've told you this all spring and all
summerly, and I told you thisback in twenty twenty three. When a
double digit run line is set inbaseball, it's almost always gonna hit over
Leveck. You and I used toactually play that a lot in twenty twenty

(01:54:56):
three when we saw tens or elevens. Yeah, we'd always say, okay,
we're playing the over because usually adouble digit overline scares people off all
they're not gonna score that many runs. Play it. I love that play
tonight for A's Red Sox. Overten and a half. Very very good.
You know me. I like runs. I'm part of the over gang,
so I'm all about it. Doyou have a play? Ryan?
I know we always give you griefabout not having plays. No, I've

(01:55:17):
I got one. I've got one. I've got part I got partly on
my own. It's an over underparlay. So I've got Braves d Backs
under Blue Jays and I think Padresover it. Not Padres. God,
who they playing? I just putit in. I just put a couple
of tacos on it. Today I'mtry to remember who they play. This

(01:55:41):
is why we keep Giants giants.I knew it was an L West team.
They already played the Padres already. So yeah, so Blue Jays Giants
over Brave's Diamondbacks under. So usuallyoff Mike, we thank people for correcting
us. That actually was a realone that time where someone looked over and
said thank you. Where we hadsome uh some some technical issues with Spike.

(01:56:03):
He wasn't able to get here.Yeah, so Spike will be here
a different day to make up forfor that. Uh, Spikes, Spikes
management team really dropped the ball today. Spike was ready. He's a true
professional. Uh my favorite bird ofall birds. Make Fkes professional. Flke's
management team, we have to havewhere of words. That's gonna be going

(01:56:26):
to be a make sure to includethat on the tweet, by the way,
because this could be one of thespike the Ryan's play here for the
play of the day. Got it? I got it ready? And who
is Ryan mcc that right? Man? I'm I'm. I started today's show
thinking I probably didn't belong here, and then the more you talk to other
people, the more I know I'mgood. It was. It was a

(01:56:47):
guest field guests show. It's acavalcade of of guest of guests coming in
closer. Was here? Yeah?See him? Fortunately. I gotta be
honest with you. I think,God, he's booking all you guys.
So it looks like he has hair. Let me ask you this, because
you know, you know a lotabout the arena football all joking aside,

(01:57:09):
how much did Nashville go from beinga team that you didn't consider a favorite
to being a favorite with Ryan Hibbert? Oh? I didn't know he was
on the team until yesterday. Youknow, did you see last week's last
two games? No, I didn'trealize that Randy Hibbert was drug out of
retirement by Nashville to h to playfor the Cats. Yea, and I

(01:57:31):
mean it, how different are they? You know what I mean? So
much different. Like if you nowgo back and see the stuff that you
know, you can sit there andplease stop destray. What do you what
do you need? Sam? Butno, I know I'm the one who
made the decision. Let me tellyou. I'm a fan of Sam.
Sam like my guy. He's myguy I met made and they are funny.

(01:57:55):
They're weird as all hell. It'slike it's like Pee Wee's Playhouse just
on an acid, which Pinley's Playhousewas. Our was already on. It's
a double dose, a lot ofacid. It's a two drugs. Kids.
He's the Blippy of your say's coolif you watch Slippy, if you've
got kids, that is blippy rightthere? Here you go Blippy. Yeah,
that's blippy. You'll look up Blippylater. I'm not sure if I

(01:58:16):
want to, I might have todelete my uh I might Yeah, you
breaking a new phone. Yeah, you can't be looking at kids at kids
shows. No, I just Ithink it changed a lot of things.
So it's it's it's it's far enoughback. I can do it now.
So back in twenty twenty one,I don't know where I get hit with
an All Star ballot, first secondteam ballot, for the for the n

(01:58:38):
a OL. No, I uh, I only watched our team, so
I needed to put together a ballot, and I had a lot of people
telling me what to do, andI want, you know what, I
know what I'm gonna do. Ihit Ryan up. That's right, it
was. It was. Yeah,it wasn't nineteen. It was twenty one
because I because I didn't have thepower of nineteen twenty one. I had

(01:58:59):
the power. Interesting, Yeah,it was that's right. Okay, Okay,
I'm trying trying to remember. Iwas trying to RYE went through I
went, we went through each group. I was like, what who do
you like here? I like thisguy? Why? I took a couple
of notes and that's why I likethat. What about this other guy?
He's he's good for this this raySo I'm like, all, I'm gonna
take that one. So just Ifeel like I just stole all his answers.
And No, it was twenty becauseI was No, because I was

(01:59:20):
an intern for the other station. That's the time I was. I was
doing beat running for Arena Fan.I don't think I was. I don't
think I had to vote nineteen.I really don't think I know I think
it was twenty one. I hadto vote either way. You're welcome,
maybe it was nineteen. What elsecould I What else could I say except
to say you're welcome, all right, MAUI, all right, well,

(01:59:43):
we appreciate you as always, Thankyou for bringing the C four. I'm
starting to drive because you know,Gus is trying to tongue kiss my quarterback.
There's a chance, by the way, you know, we did this
for closer we gradu. He can'thelp it. He's he's trying. He
tried to take it one of hisbest friend's numbers. He's in. And
then he's just like, tell memore about your college, Jake, Tell
me about high school? Jake? Can I can I rub your beard with

(02:00:05):
my weird fingers and put the fingernailsthat I bite off? You can chew
off your fingernails. We can't haveguests anymore. This is, by the
way, Ryan, if you're hearinghis voice right now, this is not
the last time he's going to joinus this summer. He may be on
with us again next week, andhe might be on with USGA in August.
So make sure to follow those credittionsrequired. And it sounds like two
times that I'm not on the show. Well, my birthday is in August,

(02:00:26):
so hey, a was twentieth.Okay, yeah, I'm not by
that. You can have your youcan have your birthday off. Thanks my
boss. I thought I was okay, never mind my boss. By the
way, we'll be back at Mohawkseverlet on August twentieth. So there he
goes. Next time we did birthdaygood stuff, it all comes up.

it's right around forty minutes ahead ofthis, So go back and listen
to the Chick Medlock conversation. Ihad fun with it. I think Levac
was startled by how much fun Ihad with Jack Medlock. Well, it's
it was. It was weird becauseI kept wanted to like at least reset,

(02:05:55):
you know, and by reset,I mean say hey, everybody that
was that was Jake and here andeverything like that, and you know,
you're just like rapid fire like weusually do, like a point to each
other, like hey, I'm gonnago god stop point he just started shoving
me off the way. He waslike, he turned my microphone off.
I should be down the staircase. He called me fat for ripping my pants
today. Oh I didn't tell JakeI ripped my pants. Oh, I'm

(02:06:18):
too busy watching you floor with them. I went prescown for some mode there.
Usually Jake at the quarterback have todress the medium like nobody else is
getting a question and right now,get out of the way. Sean Martin,
Michael Kelly and box with those awkwardlywide shoulders, get out of here,
wilin In Pinkowski, Ghassi bears here. I know I was gonna say
the story for the dump and we'retalking quarterbacks. We're talking about Jake Medlock
there. I think you and Iboth had a very similar reaction to this.

(02:06:41):
DJ have I still nailed his nameafter all these years, the quarterback
now for the Florida State seminals. If you I've been following his career,
let's call him Big Sinko again, because I liked that nickname, Big Sinko.
Big Sinko played for Clemson. Hewasn't very good, got benched,
went to Oregon State, had apretty good season for Oregon State last year,

(02:07:06):
Morgan State was more focused on runningthe football. Damien Martinez, they're
running back transfers to Miami, andreally what happened to Oregon State? Unfair?
Really good team, back to backdouble digit win seasons. In the
PAC twelve explodes, they played musicalchairs and pointed to Oregon State and Washington
State said ha ha ha bye, while Oregon State build a new stadium everything
else. So he's like, I'mout. He goes to Florida State.

(02:07:29):
Yeah, back into the ACC andhe basically says, I'm getting invited to
the ACC kickoff media event and hedeclines the invitation. Okay, first off,
if you were at Oregon State andFlorida State called you when you go
yes, Okay, So there isit what I want to see out of
my athletes. No, he alreadyleft one, like you know what I
mean, You're seeing it more andmore. And to clarify that, like

(02:07:53):
he said no to the media event, I'm going too. He thinks it
puts them in a better position tohave a professional career. But in a
statement he posted a so media hehad said that he believes the Florida State
representatives should be players who helped FloridaState win the ACC title in twenty twenty
three. He attended the event whenhe was the quarterback at Clemson. Quote.
I was honored to be invited bythe conference to represent Florida State.

(02:08:15):
The experience I had in twenty twentyone. In twenty twenty two is among
the highlights of my time in college. I appreciate being viewed it's one of
the conference's top players. However,I feel strongly that Florida State should be
represented by players who are part oflast year's ACC championship team. I think
that's awesome me too. Okay,I thought you were gonna you were gonna
do key on him. I feltlike you were coming for him. Because

(02:08:37):
here's the thing. If I'm thepeople running ACC media day, I want
the biggest names from your program.I want Dje. I want him because
I know people are gonna pay attentionif he's there. I don't care if
that means I'm overlooking the guys whoactually have done the work, and he
hasn't done a damn thing yet forthat place, I don't care. I
just I want what I want.I want to give me the best attention.

(02:09:00):
The only people who did the workare gonna get a chance to go?
There is if guys like you knowBig Sinco, which I think he
wears four now big Contro. Ithink it is if he says I'm not
going. That's the only way youget to go is if he says he's
not going. So I respect it. I think it was a good move.
I think it was I think itwas hell. I think it was
a bad move for his brand becausehe's not getting the exposure he could be

(02:09:22):
getting. But I think it wasa great move for him as a teammate
and a team later, it issomething that I really can't relate to,
which, yeah, you love attention, You'd be right. It's gods would
be like, I'm sorry, whatis he stepping on my neck to go
get a picture? Can I doboth teams? Can I do Clemson still?
And then? And then? Andthen? Can I go? Where's
Oregon State? Now? They?Where they are? They? Mac will

(02:09:43):
be Pack two? And then canI go to the PAC two media day
too? Can I do them all? What I meant by that was that
he knows it's about him, andhe knows you mentioned that, like when
you set up these conferences because you'reabout but you're gonna go through one here
coming up with you are gonna ballcoming up in the media sessions and everything.
It's not just the players that representthose schools, Let's be honest about

(02:10:05):
it. It's always the players thatgive the best story lines to the media
members. Like you might not takea backup cornerback who got arrested, but
you're gonna get somebody who can talk. You're gonna get somebody as some controversy
the transfer portal. And it's almosta layup for the media members because if
you're asking Big Sinco these questions, you're gonna make an easy one of what
do you think about going up againstClemson? What do you think about Clemson?
What do you think about Dad o'sweeny, what do you think about getting

(02:10:26):
screwed out of the ACC? Likethis stuff is gonna create headlines. And
I think it's a combination of beinga really good leader in a teammate and
avoiding controversy, and like, look, you're you're more of a air quote
journalist than I am. I'm I'ma host, I'm a Jermany, I'm
an entertainer. You're you're a journalistslash entertainer. I'm an entertainer slash slash
slash slash journalist. Like when youfound out that Malik Henry was coming back,

(02:10:50):
Like, oh, that's a bignational name. I want to talk
more about Malie Henry. And I'msitting there going no, but but I'm
as of right now that dude's sotuned in the outdoor football. Well,
he's not taking the job away fromJack Jake Medlocke and Lewandowski. Those Medlock
and Lewinowski are gonna be keeping theirjobs for a while now. So that's
why I was like, listen, let's talk about these guys. I do,
you know, feel bad to reportby the way that Henry has been

(02:11:11):
like, oh, we had tomake room on the roster for the guys
who are gonna be here, youknow, for this game. And we
do have our two quarterbacks, butlike you know, that's the national name.
Williong Lele is national name. Hedone a damn day of Florida State.
Yet he's run a few practices andthat's probably why he thought to your
phrase, I was going to doukeyon him because I think Florida State's gonna

(02:11:33):
be terrible this year. Really FloridaState is in trouble this year. If
I had to tell you the teamthat did the best in twenty twenty three
that's gonna struggle in twenty twenty four, it would be the Seminals one because
that team in twenty twenty three wasso stacked and did so well in the
portal. Then a lot of thoseguys just left. The offensive line.
They had an unbelievable stat where it'slike they had sixty five combine starts on

(02:11:58):
the offensive line going into the season. Because that's what their coach, Mike
Norvel did in the offseason that he'sgot a bunch of fifth year seniors Jared
vers eu Wall, but in hisown they had a top twenty pick come
off the defensive line. They hada quarterback that you thought, Jordan Travis,
the way he was talked about, was the greatest player of ault.
I believe he finished top six inthe Heinsman. But they flat out said
Florida State didn't go to the CollegeFootball Playoff because they didn't have Jordan Travis,

(02:12:22):
and I believe now he's a NewYork Jet who could be backing up
Aaron Rodgers this season. So theylost a lot of impact players. Florida
State could be eight and four, nine to three, and because of how
people view the ACC nationally, thatmight not be good enough to get to
the college football Playoff. And asmuch as you and I both like this
move by Big Sinco, he wasa huge recruit, five star can't miss

(02:12:43):
freshman football player Simpson. He's gonnabe the next On Watson and Trevor Lawrence
and he wasn't, and he wasn'tthe best player at Oregon State. He
might be too big, he mightbe trying to run guys over too much.
He might not be that good throwingthe football. He could be a
great leader, he just hasn't beenthat type of player for the first few

(02:13:03):
seasons. So yeah, the ACCis wide open. Probably next week when
it gets a little bit later,we can talk a little bit more about
college football and some takeaways. Butlike, I don't think Florida six can
be good. And I'll even giveyou a pick right now, levak Okay,
I love Georgia Tech Week one,Wow, thirteen and a half.
That's one of my favorite plays already. For week one, week zero,

(02:13:24):
I haven't even looked at spreads yet. What do you mean you haven't.
It's only two months away. Youweren't. You weren't yelling at your family
members on a beach, Saint Quiet. I gotta study Montana State in New
Mexico for week zero. CAUs isthe only person south of eighty that was
reading a magazine on the beach likeit's it's a kids. New Mexico's in

(02:13:46):
trouble week one against the Bobcats. This is Montana State. If you see
a number but Yon two and ahalf with the house on it, yeah,
no, nobody else wants no,no, you know what I I
love. I was I was sayingabout this earlier today as I was listening.
I've been in the truck a lottoday, So I'm flipping around the
radio down and so I'm listening toone sports host after another talk about the

(02:14:09):
NFL, and I'm like, andthey're finding different ways to talk about the
NFL. And I was sitting therelaughing. I'm like, oh my god,
there's the Yankees were off last night. There's officially nothing to talk about
in sports today, but guys couldbreak down the top eight teams in the
ACC right now. Yes, it'snot the day, but maybe I'm just

(02:14:31):
saying, like, like I thoughtabout it. I was like, if
we get to a point where Ireally don't know what I want to talk
about, I may just go.I just don't think he is gonna be
a top four team in the aCC. And just watch guys go it's
top four reel. Yes, howhigh I think? SYRAC says the easiest
schedule of anybody in the ACC,maybe of any power for he's gonna get

(02:14:52):
used to it. Power four,They got the easiest eight and four,
nine and three. Wait to hearabout what I take about SMU and the
musta. I'm ready for a SyracuseSMU ACC title game this season. I'm
ready. Oh my god? Thatwhat what decade does this? My dad
had a great take. I'll givehim credit because he had to take.
He goes, Tommy boy, youknow you think SMU is gonna be good
this season? Like, yeah, their schedule is super soft. He's like,

(02:15:13):
look how good they were forty yearsago when they paid players. Now
you can legally do it. Ofcourse they're gonna be good. It's a
great point, dad, thin. It's a great point. Like I picture
like I picture the ACC like alike a picnic right now and like somebody
just got out of prison, youknow what I mean, and everybody else
is just eating and having fun,and that one person's got their arm around

(02:15:33):
the plate and they're keeping it safebecause they don't they haven't gotten used to
life on the outside yet. Ifeel like SMU is gonna be like that
for the like like a long timewith the nil my everybody' saying, oh,
they know what they're doing. No, they know the last time they
think get their wrist laps so hardtheir hand fell off, Like they're not
gonna they're gonna be sitting there likelike they're gonna gonna pay somebody their nil
money. They're gonna do it aduffel bag, drop it off the boat.

(02:15:54):
They're gonna have to pick it up, like you know, you can
just put this in my account.Yeah, sure, we're not falling for
that again, no way. Youknow. It's so far in twenty twenty
four, it's my favorite story lightof the year, like my favorite quote
about SMU. As random as itis, SMU raised one hundred million dollars
for their athletic program in forty eighthours, and the reason it wasn't fast
is because they can clear the checkin twenty four hours. They would have

(02:16:16):
done it twenty four couldn't get onehundred million through that fast. You know
what, I do want to goback to them real quick though, because
there is actually is a local connectionof this media stuff going on here between
the ACC and the Big ten andthe Big twelve and the SEC and the
secs I believe will be next week. Okay, so you are going to
be a part of this Arena Bowlcoverage. There's gonna be local connections.
And everybody goes through this, whetherit's seeing a basketball on media day or

(02:16:39):
you all me for media day.You know, Coach Shaka gave him a
shout out earlier. Union from Done to D three, they go through
this. The best player, bestrunning back of the country. You can
make an argument for is Ali Gordonthe second for Oklahoma State? Another team
I think is gonna be really goodthis season. Potentially my favorite wager of
the year. Ali Gordon got arrestedDUI twenty years old. He went to

(02:17:01):
media day today, So Mike Gundhy, he has coach handled the questions.
He said, he's not gonna bepunished, He's not gonna miss time.
Ali Gordon had to stand up thereand said, it's whatever coach wants,
I'll face the punishment. If youare the Oklahoma State communications director, athletic
director, head coach, you're theteam president of the Firebirds, would you
have kept Ali Gordon home and stillwaterand said you're not coming to this.

(02:17:24):
Gundhy's handling it all right. SoI would definitely sit down with Gundhy and
put make up a plan together, because I would It would be a knee
jerk reaction to me to say no, you're not going and then be like,
you know, and you missed outon this because you screwed up.
But I think forcing you to sitin front of the media and answer those

(02:17:46):
questions, even though he didn't haveto answer him, but just to know,
just to sit there and watch whatyou're doing to your team by your
stupid mistake is an interesting way tohandle it. And I think if I
I would, I would if that'swhat the coach wanted, I would definitely
back off and say, Okay, let's try it your way and see if
it works. Yeah, I don'tthink I disagree with anything you said there.
I always feel like we have toadd this caveat. I know sometimes

(02:18:07):
you get grief for using that wordwhile but the caveat I think we have
to add is it's college versus pros. Like you deal with adults, you
deal with professional athletes. Some daysyou weren't at media day, you weren't
at the pictures today. That wasnot that was not adults. You and
I covered the two thousand and twentytwo media day when it was Carolina in

(02:18:28):
Albany. In Albany, there reallywasn't a lot of bad but between the
players, but it felt like thecommissioner, which is Chris Sigfer, was
recommending trash talk during media day, which I found interesting, Like if that
was Orlando in twenty three and I'mthrowing scenarios out here right, there's times
where like I don't know, actuallythe ownership in front office is hated each
other. The players fucking yes,And that's the thing I'm going out of

(02:18:52):
the back where it's like, youknow sometimes in these media their owner's eyes
were bugging out of his head.It was weird. It's almost what do
you want to accomplish? Like ifyou were a fan of Oklahoma State football
and you've got questions about Ali Gordon, Okay, today we're gonna accomplish and
let people know Ali's gonna play.Come out and support the Cowboys. Uh
they Oklahoma State Cowboys. If youare somebody who supports whoever, Florida State,

(02:19:13):
Syracuse, the al Many Firebirds.Media days don't have to be we're
gonna get blasted by the media andwe're gonna make headlines. It's let's go
out in front and address this.Let's talk to everybody. Let's be open,
authentic, and fraught and say, here's what our concerns are, Here's
how we handle it. Let's focuson football. It's how you use the
event. It doesn't try to bedoing that for a media event. And

(02:19:33):
then the idiot that I was tryingto protect to start answering questions. I
love how you could You knew exactlywhat I was trying to do there without
me having to tell you exact Youbeat me to it. You tried to
do this you and that's why Ifound this topic so interesting today and especially
for the Capitol region. Levac didthis for Antonio Browt. He got you,

(02:19:54):
put you in front of the mediaand said, Okay, I'm gonna
protect you. Tom Meshin, I'mgonna do what I can came to protect
you, to put a good faceon for the Capital region, and you
can only do so much. SomethingHe told me flat out that he wanted
he he wanted his kids to seethe field where his father played. And
he and mentioned I don't think hetold anyone else's it was just the two

(02:20:16):
of us at the one time. And he said, you know, Jerry
Jones started as an arena football owner. And I looked at him and I
was like, this guy's got aspirations, so let me see. Like and
at that point I didn't have like, you know, not knowing him,
just knowing what I've heard. Ididn't like any things I had heard,
but I was like, you know, maybe maybe, just maybe he's one
of those guys. And now thatI'm talking to a man to man,

(02:20:37):
it's not gonna be that terrible,I'm like. So I literally said to
him, I was like, listen, if you if you work with me,
I know how to do this.Like I know how to do this.
I can help you build a veryspecial image up here that could translate
into whatever you wanted to be elsewhere. And he's like, I love you,
big dog. You know you theman jet Big Jeff, you don't
take care of me. I appreciatethat, And then he did. Every

(02:21:00):
time I said, Zeke, he'sact and every time I said, you
know, don't be an a hole, he was twice the a hole.
So yeah, so that was thanksfor bringing that back. Jesus, he's
just killing me today. Believe itor not. That was supposed to give
you credit. Of Hey, whenyou get out in front of stuff and
try to figure it out the fanbases, sometimes that is the result and

(02:21:22):
it's not anyone else's fault, likea big sinko. I don't blame anybody.
I thought he did a cool thing. I don't blame my Gundy,
like everybody, how they handled thisthe right way. Eventually, you leave
the media session and have to bea good person and be a good teammate
and be a good athlete. Soall these guys left the media session and
have to do all those things, and Antonio Brown left his media session and

(02:21:43):
he didn't do any of those andjust continued his spiral inspiral. Let's awkwardly

of the North Way. It's beautifultalks, beautiful cars, beautiful people here
and I love it. One ofthe new commercials is out and it's getting
a lot of attention for the EASports NCAA video game College Football twenty five
and it's originally Arch Manning, notto be confused with Archie Manning or Foot

(02:28:50):
Arch the third one. People getconfused with that sometime. Arch Yeah,
they think he's the arch of theirfoot. It's weird, the golden arches.
No, this is just this isthis is a guy named Arch Manning.
He is now going to be inthe game. And the way they
let everybody know this is a commercialor they did with Eli Manning calling out
plays and then him playing it andthen going I'm in the game, and

(02:29:13):
then you know, doing the unclee is he calls uncle e. How
depressing is that? If you're CooperManning his father. Yeah, Hey,
we got this great idea to putyou in a commercial where you're gonna tell
everybody you're in the game, andyou know, we're gonna give you some
nil money over and it's gonna bereally special, and we want a family

(02:29:35):
member to be in with you.Oh my dad. No, not that
loser? Is eli Aroun? How'sPeyton? No, you stupid loser?
No dummy, that failure of awide receiver with a with a bad neck.
No, wouldn't it be nice ifthis is dad? Yes, but
we all know who Cooper is.Cooper's a man. I'm going back that

(02:30:00):
hitman. Think of a second forthose who don't remember our take. You
know, I'm gonna keep it rightnow about to take. Here's the problem
with arch Manning. I think he'sa nice player. I thought the commercial
was very good. I thought itwas funny. I thought I'm hyped.
You've already bought the game. I'mworking towards the PlayStation five. It starts
on Thursday. I'm getting that game. I'm getting it. I'm getting that
PlayStation as soon as the twenty seventhone comes out. Then gods, look

(02:30:20):
at the twenty fifth. I'm workingtowards it. But here's the problem with
Archie Manning. We just came offa conversation less than a month ago about
Bronnie James. Lebron James Junior averagedless than seven points in his first season
in college. He got it,he had a hard issue. Yeah,
But yet with all of those things, he still is a second round pick
by the Lakers. And we didn'teven mention this game. Well he did

(02:30:41):
actually play college ball though he did, he did, we didn't mention this
about Bronnie James. Did you noticehis contract? He got a three year
I believe nine and a half milliondollar deal, which is so much.
How many years is his dad signedfor two? Is there an option for
a third on that side? Ibelieve so. But the first, the

(02:31:01):
three year, ten million dollars deal, I think it's like less than twenty
percent of second round picks get that, even maybe even less than that.
Usually a second round pick it's ateam option. They can get cut before
they even sign on to the team. And he got a three year deal
worth ten million. Okay, eventhough Ronnie James's hypes like that, What
do you make of arch Manning?Isn't he like the most protected athlete.

(02:31:22):
You can remember it a long timeand protected, I mean you said it.
He didn't play. This guy justgot a commercial for EA Sports and
he's the backup. Well think aboutit, though, think about it.
You're not seeing the you know, seeing the genius of it. Two months
away from NFL picks, by theway, you're not seeing the genius of
this whole plan. Sure, theycould go ahead and show you someone who

(02:31:46):
plays college football, or they couldshow you someone who doesn't. And the
only way he can get in thegame is to play himself, just like
the rest of us. Think aboutarch maning when he came out of high
school, and I know his highschool. For those who don't know this,
it's sort of like for New Yorkcomparison, it's a Class or Class
D, so it's a lower levelLouisiana prep school. So he was playinggainst
lower level competition. Look a bunchof athletes from Mike Hart at Michigan to

(02:32:09):
Dwight Howard, we've seen this happenbefore, still have success. So he
plays at a lower level the numberone high school quarterback recruit in the country.
Red shirts will call it the redshirt for whatever that means in twenty
twenty three. So he's a redshirt shirt. That's us the color red.
He's got four years left of eligibility. But I bring that up because
because he red shirted, he canbe further away from his graduating high school

(02:32:31):
class. He's likely because quinn Ewersis gonna be a first round pick.
He's gonna sit behind Mullet boy, even though the Mullet's gone for another season.
So Archman hasn't transferred, hasn't hitthe portal. It's just hasn't hit
the field. Has it hit thefield? And he's in a commercial on
EA Sports well back, I can'tthink of it football player, specifically a

(02:32:52):
football player who has had this muchhype around him who hasn't even played like
one name in college football. Yes, he because he's making more money than
some like a lot of pros.Do you remember when the Georgia fans,
I'm talking of the National Championship winningGeorgia Bulldogs had we want Archie spray painted
on their chest in the student sectionto get him to play. And he's

(02:33:13):
sitting on the bench at Texas iswhy isn't any wody criticism? Like if
there was somebody who was the numberone recruit in the country, number of
quarter recruit in the country, anddidn't play for potentially two seasons. When
people see him bust stinks. Let'ssee him play. This is what could
happen for arch Manning. He couldsit twenty twenty three, he could sit
in twenty twenty four, so thenhe would be a red shirt at sophomore.

(02:33:35):
In that spot, he'd be threeyears removed from his graduating in high
school class, which means he couldplay just one season at Texas with a
loaded Texas roster and then go tothe pros. He could basically play like
twelve games and maybe be a firstround draftic. This is the next Brownie
James here with arch Manning, andI feel bad because, like I think
he's good, but no one questionswhether he's good or not. It is

(02:33:58):
funny though, because his historically,Like if I was a little kid right
now, I was talking to mydad and right having the same with that
conversation, and I'd be like thedad, sorrys Mannikin. He's supposed to
be the truth, right, Like, why isn't he playing? Oh,
because he's not better than this guy? Yet, Well, shouldn't he get
high. Shouldn't he transfer? No, you made a promise, you made

(02:34:18):
a commitment, and you play yourtime and you beat the guy out in
practice, or you take them, you take next year. That's and we
would respect him for it, andif he transferred, we all call him
a loser. Now we live ina day and age where it's like this
idiot's gonna stay there when they're notgonna play him. Shouldn't he go to
anywhere else? Like, shouldn't hego to Syracuse? Shouldn't he go to
Michigan? Should he go shouldn't hego anywhere that's not Texas that they're gonna

(02:34:41):
play him? No, And he'sdoing it the way that everyone was talking
to it back in the day.And he's fine, Like he's fine,
and we're all freaking out. Maybeit's because I don't have an athlete yet,
and maybe somebody knows it from theirfavorite college team. But I'm curious
shooting on their fingers, and youwhoa if this person exists yet, I
don't know the name of the athletewho took the nil money and just never

(02:35:01):
played. Now, arch Maning's alittle different because his family has money.
We get that, but like weare in a world now where and I
don't know how many people actually knowthis, Like when you get your nil
money, you just get it.So whether you average ten points a game
or four points a game or thirtypoints a game, or you play twelve
games or play sim as a procontract, exactly right. So I'm sure

(02:35:22):
there's gonna be some kids who makeone hundred thousand dollars five hundred thousand dollars
held a million bucks and that islife changing money, not just for them
at eighteen or nineteen or twenty, but they're family and they're like, I
don't care if I play. Igot paid, Like my checks are clearing.
Archi Maning could be the first exampleof nil kid who didn't play who

(02:35:45):
got paid. I'm sure he's gotendorsements and he's like, I'm good,
Like I don't care. What ifI told you he's got a family member
who, if he does exactly whatyou're saying, plays twelve good games in
college, has the power to steerhim to whatever professional team he wants them

(02:36:07):
to go to. Now, hisuncle E didn't have just twelve good games.
He had a lot of great games, but uncle E didn't want to
go to san Diego. So UncleE who and Grandpa A work together.
And Grandpa A, even though SanDiego did the unthinkable and drafted him anyway,

(02:36:28):
made sure he never played. Henever even put on the hed have
to put on a jersey. Hewent right to the giants. So Grandpa
A can stand in here, ArchieManning and go by the way, kids
the best. He's the truth. He's gonna be Grace, be better than
Eli, better than Peyton, waybetter than Cooper. And you you want
him, So he's gonna go topthree in the draft. And if you

(02:36:50):
don't listen to us, we willbring out Cooper, we will bring out
Dad myself a ruffle, and I'mgoing to take your balls out across the
field. I'm I'm a nice guy. Don't trust, don't test me.
He's a sniper. He's working inlike behind the shadows. I always go

(02:37:11):
back matter that Al Jazeera story aboutPeyton, Hey, that is weird that
Peyton was like basically retired and thencame back and won the MVP and set
records. Wait, al Jazeera sentsteroids to the wife. That seems weird.
Who said that report? Who wasit? Who's the one out here
being a lucky Lou and a snitchySNeW take him out because you're gonna be

(02:37:31):
a deatdy duke. Oh, weall need a Cooper in our life.
But I'm saying, like it's it'slike the First Family of football. They
just do they they do what theywant. It's good and we all love
them for it. It's great,it's amazing. The Mani Cast the future
of the Maning Cast, and itfeels like everyone wants to do the Maning
Cast. But I feel like we'renot too far away from people not even

(02:37:52):
realizing that. They said, Hey, we don't want to be a part
of the Monday Night team. Wedon't want to be the GM of a
team. We just we don't evenwant to go where you are. No,
we just want to watch football, and you guys hype us up.
And maybe they got they got helpwith the COVID thing too, because there
was no there was no way todo anything, and they came up with

(02:38:15):
a unique idea and now they continueon with it like it's it's always been.
We used to talk about this oncein a while too, like what
if we could do a watch partyfrom home or whatever? What if we
could do right, and it's youknow, for people who who actually think
we're funny more on that, likeyou might tune in it might be a
part of it. But for youknow those guys. I mean, now

(02:38:35):
you've got guys with real access whoknow the game better than probably anyone.
And if you don't agree, lookhere comes Cooper. It's it's a It
was a great idea, it wassmart, it was well done, it
was well executed, and now wewait for whatever they want to do next.
I feel like the watch parties, maybe it's just a generational thing.
I find myself less interested in theManning cast than ever before. Maybe the

(02:38:58):
novelty of it is where it offon me, where I just want to
watch the football side of it.But I don't feel like younger viewers feel
that same way. I feel likethey feel like they're a part of it.
It's hard, like I think that'sthe other part of a watch party.
To make people stay interested. Youjust can't have the camera one camera
on four people watching the game likeyou need gas, you need movement,
you need it's hard to pull itoff. I think you guys, for

(02:39:20):
the fires, we're talking a lotof fibers city, but you guys had
a Firebird watch party recently, Ibelieve for one of the playoff games involving
too the quarter final matchup right, and people came out and watched it,
enjoyed and had a good time. And the guys were have moddies on on
Saturday. And we were at Apexon Sunday, and though the Apex set
up like you know, we broughtthe guys in after. We brought all

(02:39:41):
the fans in after the guys ateand watched the game together. It was
cool. We've had a mix likein the past. We did a U
all but he watched party. Butthat also was a Saturday at eleven am.
So that's just tough. It doesn'tmatter what sport events going off.

(02:41:13):

guess, and they got diapers.Like gosh, man, you're a duel,
you're a del income household. Yeah, yeah, you know, I
only have my check and I will. I have three jobs though, so

you buy a vehicle here a lightoff the run everywhere? All right,
everything that didn't make its way intothe show today finds its way here.
Go ahead, guys, I knowyou. You look like you've been ready
to get dumb for hours. Nowthat sounded not go again to what I
just said, Hart knocks has beena lot of fingernails in that hard knocks

(02:47:30):
on each here Giants episode two tonight, previewing the combine. They've been doing
these little teaser clips on social media. Now, a little breadcrumbs, Da,
lo, what what's happening? Littlebread crumbs? That's how you dropped
the bread crumbs. Look like azombie dropped the bread crumbs. That's what
I'm doing, dropping it? Soyou have like a little chef. He
looks like someone who's rubbing someone's shouldersthat you don't want to be near,

(02:47:52):
like your full arms extended, likeokay, fine, I'll do this,
but I don't want to be nearyou. Does this feel good? Right
here? You know? Cookie Monster'shealthy. It's obscene. He can hug
himself twice. No, you you'vegot normal length arms. Look at those
Cookie Monster and Gonger. Those arethe healthy people on sesame Street. Now,
so we're watching a lot of wokies. No, no monster foodies,

(02:48:13):
cookie monsters making meals. Now,that's how he does it. Him and
Gonger. That's his buddy, Alittle pink eye anyways, Gonger that's his
name. Ye, pink little pinkeye. No, no pink monster.
How dare I? Stereotype is gender? But hard knocks is what I was
talking about. Episode two is tonight. I I went back and watched it.
I took your advice. I watchedit again. I love it.

(02:48:35):
It's I'm good. I'm fascinated becauseI've never seen something like this before.
I think Joe Shane's a little fullof himself. And that's what I took
away from the rewatch that maybe mostgms do think they know everything and that's
a part of the position. Butwe'll see if that's different here in episode.
But I I can't wait to watchthis stuff where it comes to the
x's and o's and the quarterback interviewsand the breakdown. I still agree with

(02:49:00):
myself that the Daniel Jones comparison toMahomes and the Daniel Jones defending was way
too over the top. But Ithink tonight for Giants fans, I think
it's a must watch. I believethey were defending him. I think they
were throwing them right out of thebus. M I will still say that.
I think there was on the bus. They put him in front of
the bus and said either get allthe way or don't. It's on you.

(02:49:20):
This season, I think that wewill find the middle ground and say
everyone knows it's about Daniel Jones. This is the season, whether it's not
uh and Nick, Caleb Williams andeverybody else they interviewed in the process.
I think it's been a really fascinatingHard Knocks tonight. So find a way
to watch it if you're a Maxsubscriber, if you're gonna watch via social
media teasers and crumbs and clips tryingto find the whole episode tonight. You're
such an awkward human being, dropa little bit like Gonger. I keep

(02:49:41):
going back to that, to thatthat scene where Mara's in Shane's office and
he says, you know something aboutyou know, I'd like I'd love to
keep Sakwon Barkley and Shane like literallylooks at me like he looked at him
like he was an idiot. He'slike, well, not that probably,
It's like like he he then likelectures the billionaire boss on why he shouldn't

(02:50:03):
keep them, and it's like,listen, everybody who's who's a who's a
true valuable employee has had to givetheir opinion to their boss at some point
in their time where it wasn't itwas completely contrary with the boss thought,
that's your job, like you ifif everyone's thinking like no one's thinking.
But the way he spoke to Mariawas almost like listen to you, old

(02:50:26):
idiot. Yes, I know whatI'm doing, and I like, I
think it's good that somebody's telling Marasomething different than let's be super loyal to
every single player. But the moreI want to see if there's more of
that, I want to see ifthat goes on more where he's just talking
down to people. I just keptthinking, like, why did Hard Knocks
leave that in and maybe like hedidn't, maybe Mara didn't feel that way
in that conversation, but had torewatch it again because to that point,

(02:50:50):
think about just any other business besidessports, I guess, and maybe sports
loses this perspective of this, Hey, we've had a really good performer that
helps our team get better. He'sasking for more money because he's produced at
this rate at his position. Youcould argue saquons between what five and ten
somewhere in the best running backs inthe NFL. Take price out of it
and straight up like overall ranking, and they try to rationalize him. Look,

(02:51:13):
yeah, he's good. I don'tknow, maybe somebody's gonna pay him.
We can find somebody a lot worse, but a lot cheaper. Why
wouldn't we do it? You justanswered your own question. What do you
mean, like, let's get someoneworse and cheaper? Because remember the scene
where he's sitting on the couch. He's like, yeah, well our whole
offense Mike could shut down without sequon. Yeah, but we got Daniel Jones.
What's happening? What is going onwith a few people? Here's what

(02:51:37):
I'm wondering, because the more wesay it, I'm thinking about what would
make me speak to someone like that, and it would be this, Guys,
I don't think Daniel Jones is worthforty million dollars a year. Do
it. I don't think it's worthit. Do it? And now all
of a sudden, you're coming backto me and going, I think you
should pay this running back all thismoney. No no, no, no,
no, no, no, youalready you already hamstrung my cash with

(02:52:00):
your quarterback. So now we're wedid what you want to do. Now
we're gonna do what I want todo. Your quarterback's gonna prove himself or
else, and one of us iscoming out of here. Here's the other
thing. If you're speaking down toMara, what are you saying to Tish?
Can you imagine like John Mara islike royalty when it comes to the
NFL. Steve Tish is the crazyuncle, thereybody kind of wants to hang

(02:52:22):
out and have a drink with. Can you imagine the way Joe Shane probably
talks to Steve. He's like, listen, listen, I can't teach you
how to tie your shoes, sir. I gotta like it just seems like
I'm fire tonight. That's gonna beexciting. And then The Receiver Show starts
on Netflix tomorrow, oh, featuringa bunch of different receivers. I think

(02:52:43):
I think Deebo is like a bigpart of us, Samuel, but tonight
the roller coaster that is my life. Hits the tracks is the Yankees come
back from the night off and theygo to Tampa six fifty first pitch.
I really hope they get their theirpoop together for this series and get it

(02:53:05):
going. Let's go back to theBen Rice leading off thing. We both
Ben Rice leading off tonight. Idon't know if it's just what baseball's changed
the last five years. I knowOtani leads off for the Dodgers. I
don't know if this is saber metricsor numbers that when we were growing up,
it was the three hole, right, Like your best hitter would go
in the three spot because you gethim around the order a bunch, when

(02:53:26):
your most powerful hitter would go onthe four spot because hopefully there's two people
on base. But exactly exactly right, it seems if baseball's changed in the
most recent years and said get yourbest hitter, whether it's power, whether
it's speed, in the one holebecause he'll more than likely mathematically get the
most at bats in a game. That's the compliment they're giving Ben Rice,

(02:53:46):
Like they think he's better than judgeor standard. He's like, that's a
huge compliment to put him in thatspot that quick. I think it's what
it feels to me, almost likea like maybe a matchup thing. Okay,
I was thinking this because Judge ishitting three to eight right now,
which puts them seventh in the leagueat batting average. There are eleven people

(02:54:07):
with three hundred or better batting averagesright now in Major League Baseball. I
think you have the same reaction Ido, what the what's eleven? That's
it? That's it. There's someguys in some lineups that were hitting one
ninety ninety. I think Dick FikeTell tweeted that out. By the way,
Dicky me you though he's going throughhis battles. It is like I
can't believe there's hitters in one ninetyAnd by the way, Stephen Kwan just

(02:54:30):
became eligible for this list, Sowhat's ten? For a while, I
want to say it's because of thepitchers are so good, and I think
that is a huge part of it. But still, like I think,
I think the game has changed becauseit's not about it's really not about average
anymore. It's about home runs, you know Judges now. Meanwhile, I
have eleven major League Baseball players withtwenty or more home runs already. So

(02:54:52):
I man, that's I remember,like you had to have a three hundred
average. You had to have athree hundred. You had to hit the
ball three out of ten ten times. That's what you had to do.
If you could do that, youcould stay in the big leagues. See
an I single blue whatever, itdidn't matter. You did three hundred avers.
Now it's like he hits two twentyfive. Don't give me that.
I don't care about twenty five. How many home runs he's got thirty five?

(02:55:16):
Sign him in three years, signhim twice. Uh, he needs
to be on the roster. Howdid he do this? Witchcraft? I
think I think the I think theYankees get it right tonight. I think
I think we. I think Ithink we won't we. I think we
start, we start to win afew games. We're gonna go into the
All Star Break on a nice littlehigh, and then whether or not we

(02:55:39):
can continue that out of the AllStar break will be the question. That's
my belief. What do you think? I feel as if it's this is
the time to do for the Yankees. They're more talented. A lot of
teams on their schedule facing off, especially oils I wouldn't go that far,
but this would seem like the timethe Yankees have to get it together.
This is a really good matchup, and maybe that reset is the best thing
for the team going. For asmuch as I'd like to trash the Yankees

(02:56:00):
right now, this is a goodsetup for them to get back on the
right track. I like it becauseyou know, I don't see what's wrong.
You know, Stanton's hurt. Okay, well that's that's not good,
but it's not I shouldn't crumble theentire roster. The bullpen has been a
little over work all of a sudden. Yeah, they should be able to
right that wrong. Cavino and richmight be next. But before we do
all of that, we got talkingabout Mohawkander the Back. One week from
today, we will be at MohawkKana. We love everybody here at Mohawk
