Speaker 1 (00:04):
It is Monday, signing for the Kickstarter thanks to our
friends at c DTA, but just to I guess show off.
At this point, the man who has done the work,
not myself for once, Gus is put together the Kickstarter.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
So, guz, what do you got at number ten? You
my friend. I saw what you were up to on
social media this week before this show wraps today. Mark
my words. We got a lot of big local stories
to get to, involving a minor leaguer from Sienna getting
back to the pros. We've got a local legend, but
you've gotten to beef over the weekend with a local team.
(00:41):
I want to talk about that. I want to know,
my god, it will be permission granted to go local
in public with this beef.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Later in the show, you said permission granted. You're just
granted the provision. Okay, I guess I'm out.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Thank you. This has to be done. It's all I
need to hear.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Yeah, listen, that's don't don't take credit for stuff my
guys doing and we won't have a problem.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Oh that's a nice tease. I want to stop it
right there. Number nine, I'm done with training cam videos. Ah,
put your phone away what. I don't want to see
training camps anymore. No, you're wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Did you see the run from from Zamir White? Did
you see the catch the milink Neighbors made from Dale Jones?
Did you see did you see all the greatness that's
going on right now?
Speaker 2 (01:23):
That's what the problem is, Like, it's one isolated place,
sometimes against the air, sometimes against third stringers. Air didn't
stand a chance. What about the Trey Lance pass? Did
you see that? Like? Is it time for Trade Lance
to get out of the NFL? Has he missed this receiver?
What about the poor rookies. They're getting baited by defenses,
by defensive coordinators to see whether or not they know
what this defense is, and they're nerds, they're trying to
(01:45):
bait some of these rookies. What about the Trevor Lawrence
fumble drill? We're like, oh, look at these players try
not to fumble, and then Trevor Lawrence fell down and
fumbled and he's getting roasted. I feel like we have
to put this in perspective sometimes of maybe every video
that's on social media doesn't define how the guy practiced.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
What you don't want me to react to the immediate
stimulus in front of me.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
What's wrong with you? Guys? Oh my god, I hate
you right now.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Now I don't, but I do now, but now I don't.
It's just I mean, it's what we have, dude. It's
like if you went to a like you know, when
you go by the the Chinese food restaurants in the
mall and they give you the one piece of chicken
on a toothpick, You're like.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
This is the best Chinese food I ever had.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
And then you get the Chinese food You're like, oh,
it's all right, that isn't great, all right, But because
of the little morsel you made up your mind about
the entire restaurant, this little morsel of training camp, I've
made in my mind about the entire.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Season of the NFL. One day, we're gonna just see,
guys get cut because the videos on Twitter, I don't know.
I mean, it hit three million views and he dropped
it seeing what happened on TikTok after I'm in a
glass case of emotion. You know what, I'm okay with
some camp videos, some here in number eight, if they're
really good our friends.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
I gotta tell you though, by when you when you
said camp videos. I thought you've been because I've been
watching a bunch of like the scary camping videos on YouTube,
and I was like.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
How does he know it wants me to stop watching him? Uh?
Story number eight, here's what I want from camp. Shout
out to our friends over at Buffalo Plus. My Buffalo Plus,
I mean the wonderful Sarah Toka's own Jenni Katrell, who's
got a video up right now at Buffalo Plus from
our guy Levak maccollins man. We shared it on social
media at the Jeff Lovak at Tom gos tm jews us.
(03:28):
We gave credit where credit was due for the content.
Thank you. There's a three minute video out there about
the oddness that is mac hollins, from not wearing shoes
to not eating vegetables to all the other odd things
he does. What's it gonna take for us to get
mac hollins back on this show? He joined us during
Radio Row that's still available on Apple Spotify, the iHeart app. Lovak.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
You bought a grill, no indoor smoker, an indoor smoker
see the lack of meat. My boy, my boy Tom
over Marcells bought one now too, so he said tell.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Me how to use it. I want ten minutes a
week with Mac Collins sales team. If you're a Bills fan,
if you're a Bill's owner, we can make this happen.
He is the most interesting person in the NFL. There
is Look, there's a lot of levels of weird. I
call it. There's like radio weird, and then there's creepy weird.
Then there's innocent weird. Then there's like, I'm just this,
(04:19):
Like he's innocent weird, Like he embraces that he's odd,
but he's not different weird. That's it. That's okay, Yeah,
it's not. He's a good dude. I like him. There's
a chance he's gonna be the number two receiver for
the Bills after Keon Coleman, and chance he steps in
number two barefoot. We move on to number seven here
in the CDTA Kickstarter Olympic Update. I know you're gonna
hear a lot of these through iHeartMedia, the proud audio
(04:42):
sponsor of the Olympics, to taudi or home. Here's my
takeaway from the Olympics over the weekend. Swimming's still kind
of awesome. I saw some gold medals get handed out.
I know there's been some great finishes. Every year swimming
takes over, it's still great. Volleyball beach in front of
the Eiffel Tower, awesome. People are going wild men's women's
(05:03):
two on two volleyball. It has looked great. That's the sport.
Now my wife is locked in. I'm convinced my wife
had action on them two on two USA versus Cuba
matchup this weekend. I didn't ask her she'd wagered on
the game match, but she might have. Besides volleyball, swimming
in basketball, that's what I've got so far. I watched
a little handball because that was great. Scott Hansen the
(05:24):
Gold Zone and one handball match to I believe it
was denmarketing when he said it was like watching Michael
Jordan play against Lebron. Might have been Denmark in France. Levac,
have you found out about the gold Zone? Have you
consumed a Gold Zone Olympic content?
Speaker 1 (05:37):
I'm one strike away from banning the Olympics from my
house this year. What one strike away because of Scott Hanson? No,
I love Scott Hanson. Now that I know about that,
maybe I'll take a half strike off. Uh No, because
you can do a drag being last supper, But now
you're gonna put the beach volleyball girls in long pants
did showing half a scroad and nobody says the word
(05:59):
but beach ball has to wear long pants? What kind
of world am I living in here? Okay, I've had enough.
I've had enough. I don't get take your weird art
school crap, put it away and break out some bikini bottoms.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Okay, all right, I've had enough. I'm gonna say what's
on my mind now, Scott Hansen, Gold zones the best,
The red Zone's the best, Gold Zones justice, cause there's
so many things to give.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Kenie bottoms on the beach from volleyball is the best.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
We move on to story number six, Team USA not
last supper with some weird people. Team USA Men's basketball
did beat Serbia, but the story for that game is
Jason Tatum getting absolutely dragged. Jason Tatum NBA Champion All Star. Well, Mac,
just look about the TV here, it's been all day.
(06:53):
I'll read it. Did Steve Kerr make a mistake by
not playing Jason day one by like thirty? Who cares
if he didn't play? Like that's how spoiled we're getting
as American sports fans. We beat Serbia, who arguably has
the best basketball player in the world. Yo Kitch on
the team. They've been tested by South Sudan, they were
tested by Germany. Now Team USA wins by too much
(07:14):
and we're wondering if it was a mistake that Tatum. Guys,
can we just embrace the victory? And I find the
dumbest thing to complain about that Tatum is now a
water boy for Team USA.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
All right, stop takeaways from that game. Tell me somebody
who watched that game and doesn't want Kevin.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Durant on their favorite team.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
He's he's the best best player in the world based
on what he did in that game.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Gosh, he's so good.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Oh my god, insane. Here's an interesting part of it.
I know Kerr had some reason and whatever it was
one of us, but do you remember when everybody was
going gaga over how does it feel to have champion
Celtics on the team? I think it was Durant who
was like, there's a lott of champions on this team.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
They're just the most recent to do. It.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Almost feel like it's one of those things where like
Kerr was like, hey, look, we're gonna appease the old
heads for this one and let them go off.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
You're me nice and freshman the next game. There's somebody
out there across the country. You's smoking a cigar right
now saying, oh, national sports outlets are complaining about playing
time for Jason Tatum. Imagine what would have happened for
Caitlin Clark. Those people. Don't don't be those people. They
might be right, but don't be those people. Let's move
(08:29):
on a story number five here.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
I told you were gonna find a way to squeeze
it in every show. I told you would.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Put it in. I have my best one story number
five trades across Major League Baseball. We're gonna dive deeper
into this later in the show, but I'll give you
this back. What first reaction, What it means, the legacy,
all that stuff we can do later, But first reaction
hearing a Yankee trade in the Met trade. You can
do one word if you want. When you saw the
Yankee trade go down and the Met trade go down,
(08:56):
two different ones, one word reactions to both of them.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Ah, Matt's all right, No, it's not bad, all right,
it's a little more than that, and then the Yankees finally, finally,
and and you know, my my biggest problem is is
jad Chislm is gonna be is gonna cost some issues
on this show. I want to come up with a
(09:21):
swear jar, but I have to tell you the name
it off the air to see if it's okay to
call it what I want to call.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
It on the air. Someone might have to check Friday show.
Didn't you say you hated him on Friday? I said
that he was No.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
I said that he was listed as the guy that
most players said was overrated.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Oh okay, yeah that's right.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
But I also love like I love his name because
of what it's go what's gonna happen?
Speaker 2 (09:45):
You think about it?
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Like he only played against the Yankees a handful of
times and John Sterling reversed the first letters of both names,
So like, what's gonna happen when when Craig Carton is
doing the Yankees call and jas Chisholm's out there, you know,
I'll say, like, squirts a double into the outfield to
(10:07):
get insane, finget insane.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
My first reaction to hearing in the Winker trade for
the Mets was, yeah, like it why a h yeah,
not like a yeah, like a yes response, excitement for
the Mets. My reaction when I heard about the Chisholm
trade of the Yankees. My first person, first word, George,
George is my react. I will get to that later
in the show. Why George was the first word who
(10:31):
popped in my head after that trade. Let's move on
to story number four. Only five Sundays left, according to
Scott Hansen. I know we usually save this for the
end of the CDTA kickstarter of how many days left
until the NFL is back, and we're doing this recap
on a Monday of college and NFL. But I am so
hyped for Thursday for the Bears and the Texans. I
know I shouldn't be, and I know I've been the
(10:51):
guy for years on the show. Save calm down. It's
the it's the Hall of Fame game. We shouldn't spend
more than two minutes on the game. We don't need
to break down Bears Texans. But this team feels like
those teams of the great stories. Malachi Jones from the
Albany Empire in the past played in this game. My
former teammate Wenda Williams from Bishop Blood in high school,
(11:13):
played for the text. You might remember him from the
four to one eighth like, these are the teams who
have summed up. Just get the jersey. I want football back.
I've got a whole take about whether this game is
more important or less important. We're so close, Levac. I'm
telling you now, we've got Thursday NFL action. I'm allowing
everyone to get a hype to the season. I'm just
allowing you. I'm decided to dictate the rules of it.
(11:33):
You're very bossey today. Gods, it's been a little powerful.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
I didn't know when you took over the Kickstarter thanks
to our good friends at C D t A the
Capitol District. I didn't know you were gonna get all
full of yourself.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
But here we is. I didn't realize how awesome the
second wasn't just fun stuff.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
It's one of the It's one of the few times
you've done work that I like. I was like, uh huh,
I wanted to do that.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Store number three. Let me talk talking about fierceness. Second.
Fierceness was my pick for the Kentucky Derby this year.
I felt so good about that horse. I wagered too
much on that horse. And finally that horse showed up
at the Jim Dandy. I'm gonna not what do I
do now with fierceness? Who do I complain to? Who
do I start with? I start with you right now.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
It'll be the entire Niros staff that we talked to
on Friday.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
They're on the list. They're on the list here if
people I can plain too when it comes to how
he ran in the Jim Dandy. Because I'm gonna start
with Andrew Champagne on Thursday or Insider, then I'm gonna
ge complain to Matthew to saying this because what happens
now is fierceness. Now the favorite? Darnuck? Is he the favorite?
Thorpedo Anna is she the favorite? I don't know what
in the world is gonna happen. I think this year
(12:41):
you forgot one. I think the favorite is Scotland. Want
to race. Scotland ran on Friday to close out that show.
I'm mad at Matthew DeSantis. You should have bet it
to win. Shut your mouth. I'm winning quiet Nerd. In
the history of the Lavaca Gosha, I'm not sure if
one horse looked more impressive in one race than Scott
(13:03):
was up there, Carl looked good.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Carl ran a great race when he came. What happens
if Carl Speckler plays Scotland. I just put him like
it's all gonna be exotics.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
No, Stolid ran away though, good gosh, maybe Carl did
in that race too. I was walking out the first
race he did. Yeah, maybe I tried to wash that
one away from my memory. Let's move on a story
number two. Speaking of wagers, Levac did a certain somebody
who I'm looking at right now cashing a twenty eight
to one parlay this weekend.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Would that be like if ten dollars brought back two
hundred and seventy five.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Twenty seven and a half. Yeah, parlay, I'll run up
to twenty eight. Somebody cashed on this weekend? Very good bye? Friend?
Did I did? I did?
Speaker 3 (13:42):
That?
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Was me w pen stripe parlay? Saturday Night? Homer, Judge, Homer,
sodo what did I do? I think I did a
hit for Devs and then over and Yankees boom shacka laka,
they come to cheap Rocca.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
I couldn't tell you the last time I hit a
ten to one, a fifteen to one, a twenty eight
to one on the weekend.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Bang pulled the one hundred and fifty bucks out, put
it into the future NFL account just so can't get wasted.
So we have my first three fifty dollars bets are
sitting in an account waiting to go for phanartiasee versus reality.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
I hope somebody listening right now is writing that with
Levank just said, whether it's the podcast side, whether it's
radio side of Levac is responsibly investing that he has
an account for picks for the NFL, picks for fun money,
picks for the hort He is responsibly handling his account.
Some of you need that advice, and you know who
you are.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
I want my goal is to build it up a
little bit more where I can, you know, go after
it week one with house money, see what I can build,
and then you know, grow the empire that is Jeff Levac.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
You know we'll move on to story number one. Lavac.
They're Yankees and the Red Sox. How are you feeling?
What did you take away from that? We don't have
to do that in about ninety seconds. You can do
that in a whole segment coming up if you'd.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Like I think it needs a whole segment. I think
it's time to actually, as a bunch of wrestlers would say,
acknowledge them. I feel like the Yankees are back. They got,
they're putting their stuff together. They look like they're having
fun out there. Chazz is out there, Jazz Chisholm Chaz
for short. If you're nasty, he looks like he's having
(15:25):
a good time. Loudest belt I've ever seen in the
history of baseball. So yeah, let's talk a little more
about the Yankees and the Red Socks and all their
fans you. But first I'll tell you the Kickstarter was

Now back to Levac and Gaz on ninety five, nine
and nine eighty am Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Fabulous weekend for baseball. I mean, listen, it didn't It's
it's been a very long slum for the Yankees. Something
about the energy that was displayed while beating the Red
Sox two out of three games feels like maybe maybe
maybe we've rounded that corner and they're ready to play
(21:27):
some baseball now. Obviously we need to see more to
say that for any kind of with any kind of certainty.
But Jazz Chisholm, he brings energy, He's got the right mentality.
I love that they went to Jeter because Jeter is
the one who who brought him over to the Marlins.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
And they went to C. C.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Sabathia and they were like, dude, do we want this kid, Like,
we've got a chance to bring this kid in. Do
we want them? Jeter said it yes, And apparently CCI
Sabbathia said, abso bleeping loutely, hey.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Got hangout, hang out. I understand the Jeter connection because
Jeter at the Marlins. What's the CC Sabbathia connection. Personally,
I just took it as I thought, you knew why. Okay,
here's why. I quickly pushed back on that, because this
is going back to the kickstarter if you just missed it.
Moments ago, Levac and I were doing like a word
association with the deal, and my first reaction was, George,
(22:22):
of why the jazz chism trade is very odd to me?
Think about these three guys in particular, And maybe I'm
making wild assumptions. You're a the Yankee fan. You listening
might be a Yankee fan. Maybe I'm going way too
wild this, this assumption amount the late George Steinbrenner. But Jazz Chisholm,
Alex Verdugo and Marcus Strowman don't seem like guys who
(22:44):
would be on the roster but George Steinbrenner. And what
I mean by that is there was a time in
the history of the New York Yankees where standing out,
having your own personality, not doing things the Yankee way
would be quickly on George Dye Runner's radar. Why isn't
he shaving his face. Why isn't he acting like this?
Why has he got so many tattoos? Why is he
(23:06):
acting like this after he hits the room. That's not
how a Yankee acts. So guys like Verdugo who have
a big personality, Jazz, Chisholm, who has the big personality Stroman.
I know, older Yankee fans canna say, guys, what about
Reggie Jackson, what about David Wells. There's examples obviously in
the history of the Yankee franchise. The guy's a big
person is I'm just surprised that Verdugo, Stroman and now
(23:30):
Jassism are Yankees. This would be no other discussion for
no other franchise. But if we went old school Yankee,
old school Yankee fan were like, hmm, all those things
Ja Jazz does doesn't seem like what a Yankee we do.
And when you brought up Jeter and Cci, like, oh gosh,
Like are other teams consulting with the legends of the
franchise before they do a trade about something like that.
(23:53):
That's only the Yankees that would do something like this,
consult with people how they'd fit the culture of the
team to do with him interacting through. Uh.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
I think his son Carston somehow, somehow CC's son and
him have interactions, I believe, okay, something of that nature.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
But he's a fan of the trade.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
Well, and CC was part. He was down there helping
out while Jed was with the Marlins. I know that,
I know he was. He's been around jets, So listen.
I just love the word absolutelyping loutely, like you know,
it's go get him so got a lot of energy.
I like that he's already open to playing third base
if they need him to. He's like, yeah, give me glove,
(24:37):
let's go. I'm ready. Let's have some fun out there. Meanwhile,
Glabor Torres is like giving lip about stuff like whatever,
and non Glabor Labor kind of has a right because
if you don't remember, Labor was Glabor Torres was the
guy who was supposed to come up to take over
short but then they needed him to play second base. Well,
then they need him to play center field, then they
(24:57):
need to play third bait. So by the time he
he actually got up to the pros, he had played
like four or five different positions in the minors trying
to get ready. And some of you are probably sitting
there going, so what who cares? That does mess with
your development?
Speaker 2 (25:10):
You know, like a couple of days taking some grounders
at theret this later on, a couple of days taking
(25:47):
some grounders at there. This is a hard spot for
him because with this contract coming up and then potentially
moving on. So what if he's bad at both? You
know what, what if he's not good at third or second?
A lot of people say, well, no, no, guys, that makes
you versatile, like other teams can signing for the I
feel like he was almost in protection mode of Hey,
I'm not playing great and I should have another contract
(26:07):
on the way. Do I want to put more bad
tape on teams to see of me? Now, that's not
believing in yourself and having the swagger arrogance confidence to
say I can do whatever you want. But I get
his trepidation of trying to change positions for a franchise. Hey,
it's almost like a business that says, look, you're probably
gonna not work here in the next two to three months,
(26:29):
but do you mind if you do a little bit
of this work for us before you leave? And he's like, no,
are you guys gonna resign me? I might not work here?
In three months. Why are you asking me to do
something for the benefit of the team and the company
when I may not work for the team or for
the company for the next three months. If you put
it in those type of ways to look at it, oh,
I get it all right, that kind of makes sense
why labor doesn't want to budget a little bit because
it's not helping him and it's helping a business he
(26:51):
may not be a part of next season.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Plus, if you're gonna if you want out that, there's
how you stand up and make it happen, you know.
That's that's that's one way to kind of begin the
ejection process, like, hey, I listen, I don't I don't
want to do that.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
I don't want to do this. I want to do this.
You want to watch just get rid of me. We've
covered a lot of Yankee teams, the ones, especially in
the late in mid twenty tens, and this has been
something we've gone back to a bunch, but it's we
continue to go back to it because it's true of
who's making that clubhouse work, who's bringing that spark you
loved referencing Oh gosh, I'm gonna drop his name. The
(27:32):
tone night show. Why am I blanking on his name?
Oh Jesus right, Yeah, the little guy who played in
the outfield, I'm blanking on his name who used to
be the host of the Tone Night Show. But we
bring up that example because there were certain things that
the Yankees need to bring personality and excitement through. What
are the dog days of the summer now? To make
it matter, are you gonna spark a personality like jazz
(27:55):
in the locker room in the dugout? Could it be
is receptive? You hope? Could a big personality who's a
super competitor, who's got that thin line between swagger and
arrogance completely blow up in your face. Absolutely, But it
seems like it's a combination of both personality and performance
as to the reason why the Marlins and Yankees made
(28:16):
this move to give them that boost that they need
in the clubhouse and on the field for actual production.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Yeah, I think it's gonna it. Definitely, Uh, Ronald Treyes,
thank you.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
H It definitely is. It's a shot of energy. The
dude is.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
The dude is next level energetic. There's no doubt about it.
It's I can't I can't put away the amount of
players that have said they think he's overrated, Like that's
in my head, but it's probably in his head as well, right,
I mean, that's gonna bother you, so you can't and
that kind of stuff doesn't come out without somebody telling
(28:53):
you it was out.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
So he's heard that.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
But you get you shaw like he had impactful energy
like his Just watching him run off the field with
Verdugo like that was I remember think of myself was
like I'd be tired just running with these two fools
to get off the field. Now, grant I'm old the fat,
but like that's he's he's there and everybody's happy he's there,
(29:16):
So that's big. If his back gets hot, I mean
that's that's gigantic because now you got another guy in
the llow to protect Judge Wells is starting to heat up,
thank god. But you're you're a relief pitcher in my opinion,
why right now? And there's there's a lot of people
out there. I think Nester Cortez is on is on
the block that Nestor Cortez could be flipped for another
(29:39):
picture or thing different. So trade deadline tomorrow six o'clock.
I don't think this is the end. For the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
I think this is you know, you got younger in
the outfield. He made some moves.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
The Phillies series is supposed to be the return of
John Carlos Stanton, so I think you're gonna start to
see them kind of head back towards what they were,
that really good team that was out there winning games.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
I know I offered up this question to you last week,
but I feel like we have to revisit it, and
we might do it one other time this week. So
you're taking on the Phillies, the best team in baseball nationally,
who's the Who's the first? It's a bad of what
could be a World Series preview because best team in
second base. I think that's how I was gonna set
(30:24):
that up. But UH said the Phillies. Isn't this series
more important than what they did against Boston? It should be, right,
but it's not.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Boston is more important because it's an American league. When
it's an American league, East win. But that's like mathematic
and all that stuff. Now, if you want to say,
you know, you take two out of three from the
Phillies and I'm here, like how you going nowhere? And
here like that's that. I'll go with that. Like, hey,
(30:55):
you you split with the Rays, you got swept by
the Mats, you took two or three from Red Sox.
You put the Red Sox back where they belong. There
are some people who will tell you the Red Sox
aren't even that good this year. I'm one of those people.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
One game out of the wild Card, they still could
face off in the postseason at three to six. Again,
I stand by my point.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
If everybody's storyline over the last two months is how
terrible the Yankees are and you couldn't catch them and
your orioles couldn't pull away from them, Okay, well we
paced you the worst team in baseball over the last
two months and you guys could not put them away.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
That says you guys sucked too. You know what I mean?
I mean, suck is a strong. Did the Yankees suck
for the last two months? Yes? Did you pull away
from them?
Speaker 13 (31:42):
No?
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Don't you suck too? Corman Burns doesn't have to stay
on the team for the Baltimore right he can get
dealt to like Nester Corte. They could make some moves Baltimore.
Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah? So yeah, on
a do you want to see if you belong in
the ring with the heavyweights? This is more important.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Do you want to get some put some distance between
you and one of your rivals?
Speaker 2 (32:05):
That was more important.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
But again, if you're an Orioles or a Red Sox fan,
you should be thanking your lucky stars. And the Yankees
had the worst two months in baseball because otherwise everybody
talking about how bad you guys are.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
I don't like that the question I wanted to post
to you today, thinking how the Red Sox Yankee series
is gonna end up. What's more likely to happen The
Yankees fall to a five or six seed in the
wild Card or they catch up to Baltimore. And I
don't like that question because I actually truly believe it's even.
Like if you set the line like fifty to fifty,
I really feel like it's about as even as it
(32:37):
gets of. With one game back in Baltimore right now,
and how the schedule lays out for the Yankees for
August and September, which beside post Philly, it gets a
lot easier if you told me the Yankees are either
gonna fall back and get caught by Minnesota or Kansas
City or catch Baltimore. Now that's bias Baltimore fans talking.
Someone hearing this is like, no, no, gosh, it's far
more likely they're gonna win the East than fall in
(32:58):
the wildcard, just because of pure math that in front
of you. But how bad they played? All right, we're
running away with this. The gt chism trades way more exciting,
(33:26):
but Jesse Winker trades way more exciting for the Mets.
I know the Cardinals made a move today grabbing a
picture Bettie from the White Sox, like there's in way
I must be by myself on the Raindier Rose Raine.
It might be you and I. They're the only ones
who are hyped about Raindy Roseraine. The fact that Randy
and Rosearraina got dealt to the Mariners and his family's
still hanging out. The fact that a Rose Arena showed
up in the ballpark to sit with his family while
(33:47):
he got traded. I feel like that's a big move.
One more day, as you mentioned, six o'clock tomorrow, we'll
officially locke in who's on the move.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Yeah, I think it's gonna be an interesting night. I
think it's gonna be very interesting evening here. Let's I
should we talk a little Olympics. Probably talk a little Olympics, right,
I mean a little bit to do that. Coming up
right now, I'll tell you about our good friends over

(34:17):
sponsors for the team. We went around with autograph helmets

Harding Mazzati. And do you remember the Super Bowl commercial
with our players trying to tackle Paul Harding. Yes, the
helmet from that commercials on display in their in their
waiting room, so when you go in there, it is
(34:38):
so it's like the Elevation ten thousand commercial concept that
they came up with and did with Hardy Mazzati. There's
still like trophies like remnants from it right there. So
I mean, literally, what do you what do you need?
How do you get from where you are to where
you want to be? Is your website appropriate? Are you
are you marketing to the right people? Do you have

an idea? Do you have a concept for a TV commercial?
Because Elevation ten thousand can make all those things happen
for you.

everybody was talking about it for different stations and people
around the Capitol region. And that's the type of marketing
power that Elevation ten thousand can give your business or

Speaker 1 (38:51):
The coolest things so far from me was watching US
men's basketball actually look the way they were supposed to,
you know, like there's just that moment where you gotta turn,
like like the best teams flipped the switch, and we
always hear these things like you can't.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Count on flipping the switch, you can't do it.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
And the way that the US team was playing it
really really looked like they were gonna have a hard time.
It really looked like the men were gonna be in
a little bit of trouble like we had. We had
to be a little nervous, and they used to go
and dominate. I mean just went out and absolutely played
gray basketball, like especially Kevin Durant so good. You didn't
(39:32):
even need Tatum, didn't even need him.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
I want to get to that tape of thing. But
just because we came off the Yankee conversation, who has
higher expectations and like American sports the New York Yankees
or team of US, say men's basketball team in the
USA men's basketball.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
I agree, yeah, because at least like the axis supposed
to lose a game like the Xers go one sixty
one and one, and when and then when the World Series,
maybe listen the playoff games, the US study of basketball
is not supposed to lose them second like they're supposed
to take the lead and then run away.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
That's exactly right. Not only can they not lose team
USA men's basketball, but let's say they beat Serbia like
one hundred and ninety six, like whoa, it only beat
Serbia by four, Like no matter who they played, Germany
South student what And I don't think it's ever going
to change. Ever, that's always that at least the Yankee fans,
like you said, half joke of it serious, like, all right,
(40:28):
we can lose a couple of games. We don't have
to beat every I don't know if it's ever gonna
change for Team USA men's basketball. I mean, it shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
It really shouldn't, barring you know, like a miracle and
ice moment where you know, Serbia or whoever, Lithuania, somebody
goes out and whoops your butt in a gold medal
game and then you look over you go, oh wait,
they have four NBA guys, they have something, they have whatever.
Then all of a sudden, I think you can see
a scenario where people go the immedia outrage will be insane,
(40:59):
but I guess see where over time they go. Ill
the world has caught up a little bit. We have
to expect, you know, some close games what.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
People both like in America and this could happen this
way we view it. Let's just play this out here. Okay,
let's say Team USA men's basketball and I'm just throwing
a country out here for the sake of this conversation.
Let's say they somehow rematch with South Sudan and they
beat them. Do Americans understand that if South Sudan beat
(41:26):
Team USA, it'd be considered one of the greatest upsets
in the history of the Olympics, Like, we don't like
to view that as Americans because we feel like somehow
we're so pro American that the only way we can
have upsets is if Team USA upset somebody. But if
I told you that the South Sudan country would take
down Team USA and that'd be viewed as one of
the greatest upsets in history Olympics ever, were like, no, no,
(41:47):
what wouldn't wait what, Like, we can't. We have to
have it one way or the other. Either we're gonna
do what Lavac's talking about. Where we're gonna be Team
USA men's basketball is not only do they have to win,
but they have to blow teams out. And if you
want to take that point, then you also have to
look at the other side, like if we're so dominant
and so great, if someone beats us, we have to
give that team credit for being the greatest upset ever,
(42:08):
Like no, no, we don't. Just remember if you're gonna
go ailew one and you lose, You've got to also
see the end of it. So just accept that if
if it does happen, if France knocks us off, and
I'm doing the awesome, I think I can do this
in USO in America. Yeah, if France knocks off Team
USA or Spain or South Sudan or Canada, you get
(42:28):
to pick one or the other. Either we're the greatest
team ever, we can never lose by any close game,
or it's the greatest upset in the history of the Olympics.
And that's from Tommy hot Takes. I actually think that
one's close to being reality there.
Speaker 1 (42:40):
Yeah, you're terrible on that one. I mean, you've definitely
done worse. There's there's no doubt about that. Uh No,
I think I think, yeah, anybody who beats us, it's
the grace. It would be the greatest upset. Absolutely, because
again we you know, we are the NBA. That's it,
that's our game, that's we that's that's all us. Just
(43:04):
to see him play the way they played, though I
don't know how they I don't. Obviously they're gonna you
always have like a snooze game, they always do.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
But I don't know how they I don't know how
they lose. I would say the competition is it's done.
The last four years has always been stepped up. It's
always been good.
Speaker 12 (43:22):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
The only way Team USA basketball loses, I mean, I
don't say if they have a rough game. But even
if they have a rough game, what is that the
difference of eight points sixteen points? Is it the rotation
of Steve Kerr? Oh, Steve Kerr doesn't play Tatum me.
I'm sure he's got other It's hard to find, I guess.
And again this is I'm stretching for this one. That
(43:44):
a team has so many European basketball players and their
style and they're playing like it is the most important
game of their life, which a lot. The semi just
happens and probably be the only way I conce either
until they get to like the semi just happens and
probably probably be the only way I conce either until
they get to like the Semis or the finals where
they get Canada or France that can actually go toe
(44:05):
to toe with Team USA.
Speaker 1 (44:07):
Yeah, but I mean even they should be the favorite
in every game. Yes, yeah, hands down. So who's uh,
I'm sorry, Who's next?
Speaker 2 (44:18):
They get South Suitan on the thirty first at three o'clock.
Well you better win now one and then you get
Puerto Rico. South Sudan gave him a test in their
most recent matchup. That might have been the best thing.
South Sudan uh just lost by one point with lebron
with the layup late.
Speaker 1 (44:31):
But they've won in the Olympics so far, so we'll see,
we'll see. I'm I'm I'm in for that. That's got
me in. The overall metal trackers always got me in.
Like that's something that I can't help but pay attention to.
Right now, the US leads and overall medals with nineteen,
but we only have three gold, eight silver, eight bronze.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
I mean, come on, what are we doing here? Boys?
What are we doing? You've taken me down to path
here that I need a little bit of help here
with in the history of Team USA, how's Japan and
China have six each? Let's go, what do we do it?
Let's go. Do you remember anybody who's like busted at
the Olympics, wasn't there, like the famous long jumper or
(45:16):
po vaulter, like there have been guys who have like
been hyped up, and I'm sure females as well, hyped
up to be the best ever, they just didn't get
it done. Like Lolo Jones is the one who pops
in my mind. But Lolo got beat. Like Lolo was
still talked about a ton of the Olympics. Here's why
I bring up Big Bus, because you brought up Team
USA men's bas But if they don't win the gold,
people have viewed us the bus. Same with women's basketball.
(45:37):
Their favor to be the gold is Simone Biles in
that conversation. But she's she's done, she's done at all. Well,
here's the thing with Simone Biles. I totally forgot she
was in it. I forgot, like I actually did not
remember Simone Biles was competing this year because the most
recent Summer Games, remember she had like the goat stuff
(45:59):
and then she hold out of the events for mental
health issues. But she didn't win, But she didn't live
up to the hype that like Phelps had had before.
But she still won like the Presidential Medal of Freedom,
Like she was still even though she had nowhere close
to what we thought she would do performance wise in
the Olympics, she was still honored and treated like a
great all time athlete. She's representing the country, she's being
(46:19):
a role model for younger athletes. There's no no criticism
on that end. But now she's injured again, but she's
gonna pull through, Like, oh, I got a calf injury,
but I'm gonna compete. All Are we not allowed to
call American athletes bus or underachievers and they're representing the
country anymore? Is this because of Lolo Jones or someone boss?
Because that was like, no, Gods, you can't criticize the
(46:41):
American women athlete. Feel like Simons in this criticism might
have like.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
I know she's done so much though, Like that's the
reason I'm back off her.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
I brought this up the Ryan McCarthy's show.
Speaker 1 (46:53):
There the card to your guests this weekend, Yeah, the
brunch there, you avoided it. You You've got paid to
be on the show, and then you didn't show up.
I brought this up. I was like, I don't feel
like they market athletes the right way anyway, the way
they used to. But then when I my example, when
you go back and remember how that went, you can
(47:13):
kind of see why they're afraid to. So it's back
in the ninety two Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Dan versus
Dave Dan Dave, Dan Dave was my favorite. Like that
was so it was Dan O'Brien Dave Johnson. Nobody knew
anything about them their track and field unless you're track
and field fans. To kathletes, just bad bad men, just
great athletes. Problem is, five weeks before the Olympics, Dan
(47:37):
O'Brien misses his pole vault, doesn't qualify for the Olympics.
Dave gets himself the bronze. So Dan and Dave one
doesn't even get in the other one gets bronze. Mind you,
four years later Dan goetes in there and gets a
golden to the cathlon. But like that whole premise was
so great. I loved it. I love what they did.
But it backfired because one doesn't make it and the
(47:59):
other one was in third. Not a perfect world, they
both make it. They you know, they're fighting for gold
and silver and everything like that that would have been
then I think we have seen more money dumping. This
kind of marketing. Was that was rebod that did that,
But like I want more of that. I want that
kind of marketing. Okay ooh, I liked that. I know
(48:20):
we just talked about elevation ten thousand too. I would
love to get some insight further on this because if
you want to know what Capital Region athletes are, and
you can go to our our Facebook or or some
other teams that posted something similar.
Speaker 2 (48:33):
Don't you worry, I'm gonna let you loose later in
the third hour about that. No, no, save that in
the holster. Don't no put the gun down the.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
Back Facebook page is a great post about Capital Region athletes.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
Okay, So you want you feel like a strength of
the Olympics could be if they marketed the athlete far
further in advance or not. I'm a little confused about
your marketing take there, because I like when they introduced
us to the to the athletes.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
Okay, because again, if you were not a track and
field fan, and what is like out of all if
you put all sports fans in like one big pie,
what is what is track and field fan?
Speaker 2 (49:10):
What is that? Three?
Speaker 1 (49:14):
So what they did is for the other ninety seven
percent of us who love football, we just love competition.
They gave us people the root for Again, backfires when
one dude has his worst you know, lead up possible,
the qualifiers possible, and the other dude doesn't get you
to gold. However, you know, I've seen a lot about
Justin Gallen. Okay, that's it's cool. I like, but I
(49:35):
already know who he is.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
But do more? Give me?
Speaker 3 (49:39):
More?
Speaker 2 (49:39):
Give me? We all know someone Biles I don't want.
I don't necessarily want her.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
I want the ones I don't know, like I want
the I want the pole vaulter, I want the I
want the crazy stuff.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
I want the break I want the I don't want
the breakdancers. I don't want those. This is gonna sound
like I'm being too cold hearted. Should be cold hearted? Guys,
don't you do it? Because this is a way draining factor,
Like we want the thirty to one, Okay, we want
the guy off.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
No no, I I mean I want the thirty to one,
but not for betting.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
I just want to root for him. Okay, you want
the heavy favorite to win the competition to be marketed
more like you want somebody who's a guarantee winner, like
all the other company wants. Teach me who to root for.
Take me out of Jim. Teach me Jim like he's
in the three on three.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
Yeah, Besto, saying like, like, give me the story because
the reason they grabbed those two guys is those guys
were medalists. They were supposed to win medals, So give
me those people like put those Hey, iHeart you're the
official radio home of the of the Olympics in France. Oh,
why don't you do some vignettes? Hi, it's the back
(50:49):
and guys, and we want to tell you about a
great runner who's gonna be going crazy running this year,
running mcfast feet.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
Running fast feats. The hell of or I.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
Don't know anybody. I can't see, I don't I can't
even do it. I'm a sports guy.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
I'm going way back here. I'm going way way back.
Remember Rulan Gardner, you know that name. Some people might
you lost in a snowmobile accident. Rulan Gardner's story is unbelievable.
The problem with Rulan Gardner is a lot of people
didn't think he'd actually win. So but then, like, if
you have Rulin Gardner as the spokesperson later that might
be the max. Like you're getting him against stocks and price,
(51:25):
and I keep thinking of it, like this is the
worst time to advertise for Rulin Garterer. Because he's never
gonna be as popular as as in that moment. Rudy
Winkler hammer throw out of sand Lake, New York. Rudy Winkler,
Henry Winkler's great great grandson, he's not. I don't know
if he's related with Funds at all. I don't want
to give my miracle on ice take. I don't want
(51:47):
to do it. Today's not the day for it.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
What about Grace Claston. We all watched the running University
of All but we actually did Yes, she's there.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
Do you think, though, this marketing thing you've stumbled upon
and have thought about and talk about with Ryan and
talk about the Ryan over the weekend, how much of
it plays a factory because of the country of America.
Like we open it talking about how Team USA men's
basketball has to dominate. So it feels like there's not
a lot of great underdog stories with an athlete representing
(52:15):
Team USA. You could find some that's and again that's
alluding to my miracle on ice take where it's hard
for younger sports fans and be like wait, wait, hang on,
Team USA was an underdog in a sport against who
the Soviet Union? Is that a country so many and
how any NHL guys if the Soviet Union have wait none,
(52:36):
hang on, it was on tape delay. Like some of
this stuff doesn't aange well when we talk about upsids,
I wonder how much that plays a factor. Like people
don't view American athletes anymore as underdogs in any sport.
And that's why it's hard to make these stories about marketability.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
Here's the only issue I have with you where you're like, hey,
teach me about the underdog, teaching about any dog because
we don't know most people don't know anybody in this Again,
if if Ben didn't post the post about Rudy Winkler,
I wouldn't know. Look, I wouldn't know Rudy was out
there repping sand Lake with the hammer. Throw wouldn't know
(53:11):
that Rudy's neighbors probably a broken windows because he's out
there practicing wrecking the hammer, getting it out there, dropping
the hammer.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
As the kids would say.
Speaker 1 (53:19):
Like, we don't know anybody like that the And I
think part of it's our fault though, because we used
to we they used to know where we had to
go to our information.
Speaker 2 (53:28):
Like you you.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
Had to go to the nightly news, you had to
go to this channel. You had to go to Sports Center.
I can get my sports news anywhere I want. So, like,
we get all these weird either super niche coverages or
we get these grand over over scaling coverages. But the
bottom line is I don't know who to root for
(53:50):
person to person wise in the Olympics. If you did
more of those commercials like which were just cool, I'll
be in and I'll tell you what. I've now reached
a point in my life where I have probably one
more dollar than I do common sense. I'll probably buy
the shirt. I will probably spend money on the shirt
because I am I am a lemming, I am a puppet,
(54:14):
and if you do something cool that I like, I
will pay it. I own more barstool shirts that I'm
proud of, okay, because they wrote things down that I
thought were funny. So and if we ever get people
to do at the speed I wanted done at, people
own our shirts, but I would own a Jeff versus
God's shirt.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
I would. I'm wondering what I could compete in the Olympics.
Be up on a pole vault. Assume the Catholic Great
Dancing is your only hope. I saw rugby the other day.
I'm like, I could get out there for a few
bodies around.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
All Right, I'm sorry, but nineties Kid is suspended, Oh,
suspended from the show.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
What happens?
Speaker 1 (54:52):
Just tweeted at us TMO say we'll lose a game
if other teams scores more points than them. Suspended, suspended,
Go watch, Go watch Walt Chamberlain movies.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
How dare you? Corey from Greenwich is rubbing off on
nineties Kid? Is he is?
Speaker 1 (55:07):
It's happening, They're starting to become the same person. Is
it our fault if he starts writing, If he starts
writing Hi guys and then puts the point thing.
Speaker 2 (55:17):
Ninety Kid is a big fan of Corey's dad, though,
