Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for the Top four four with Levac and guys.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Time for the four biggest stories in the world of sports.
It is Rocky you my Bohawk Honda where they always
go out of their way.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
To please you. Guys, what's the fourth biggest story?
Speaker 1 (00:14):
This is a fun little behind the scenes I like
hear the term inside baseball.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
We do have a show run. I'd say sixty.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Percent of the time I put the stories down that
we're gonna talk about.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
The Top four four, But I like think, is that
high you do fifty? Okay, I'll go that. I'll go fifty.
I'll be generous. Okay.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
There's a lot of times I don't like to put
it in there, not because of laziness. Twitter No, no, no,
because I'd like to get Levak's genuine reaction to the story.
There's a fun part about this job. You want to
see the real Offen.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Well, that's why we That's why we've always done this.
Is I enjoy reacting stories as much as I like
set on the table. So we've always done this where
you know, you take over and lead through these headlines.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
I don't know if it's ever happened before. We're forty
five seconds before we go to the area. You're like, hey,
what do you think about that?
Speaker 3 (01:00):
No, no, no, quiet, I need that sh The.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Story involves your guy, Jim Harball. This would have been
a classic Dump story today, but no Dump today. To
close out today's show, the NCAA here story Umber four
Dump has announced a four year show cause order. God,
that doesn't mean I felt like Sarah tug was in
my head. Four year show cause. No, that's the name
of it. Jim Harbaugh impermissible contact with recruits employers.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
What does it basically mean?
Speaker 1 (01:27):
It means that through twenty twenty four to twenty twenty eight,
a school wanting to hire Jim Harball that have to
suspend him for the first full season, and then after
that Harball would be banned from the athletic related activities,
including a practice video of recruiting until the order expires.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
But man, he's not going back to college. What are
we doing here? I love well.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I mean, he could pull a Sabin, you know, he
could he could pull a who the damnit Petrino?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yeah, he could do that.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
I don't think you will, but it is amazing. Well,
just to show you what a joke the NCAA is
just to show you how little teeth they actually have.
They started talking about going after more the current head
coach of Michigan and everybody from Paul fine Bomb to
you know whoever has pointed out you said there was
(02:17):
nothing wrong with that championship. You've already punished. Actually, the
Big Ten, which is an agent of yours in some way,
shape or form, has already punished this team. You really
think you're gonna win that battle? And they went, we'll
get back to you on that, but you know what
we're gonna do. We're suspending Jim Harbaugh. Jim left. Yeah,
(02:37):
good because we would have kicked him right out. But
Jim left. You didn't have to do anything like he
Actually Jim's not here anymore, man like Noah, yeah, because
he knew he knew we were coming for him.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I guarantee you. Harball calls them right and his lawyer
calls him right now, they're gonna be like, what, no, sorry,
who's not you? Some other with John Harbaugh? John Harbaugh suspended?
What's their dad? Jack Harball? He's out?
Speaker 1 (03:03):
You know, I felt like I was mocking this story
for the setup. I actually kind of like this. I
actually really think this was probably the best decision because
remember oj Mayol at USC, remember Reggie Bush at USC.
Usually what has happened in the past, the last twenty
years is a player would do one of these things,
become academically ineligible, can't be eligible because he's getting paid
(03:27):
while the players hurt the program. Well, now we got
to suspend the school. Oj Mail left like three years ago.
I'm getting punished for Oj Mayl. I'm getting punished for Reggie,
but he's a goat. So like, you can't even go here,
go here, I mean, girls great reference there. So look,
you can't punish a player because they're never going back
to college. But if the person who committed the crime
(03:48):
can do this, then they should be punished. Like do
we want to punish the players now for Michigan, Well,
that's that's not fair. Do you want to punish the
coach now for Michigan? That's not fair either. This is fair.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
You know, I can mock the NC and it is
funny how this is how it's laid out. But I
don't know if there's a better one.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
You did this, you committed the crime, you are gonna
be punished. It kind of feels like a country, right, like, Hey,
you did some bad stuff in Canada, you're not allowed
back for five years. I mean that makes sense. I
did do the bad things. I don't want to be
back in five years. I feel like it's a fair punishment. Weird, bizarre, odd.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
But fair. I'm fair.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Okay, let me think about this again. He just came
out and said I didn't know anything about it. He said,
I've never lied, I don't cheating or whatever. Hmm, okay,
well that was about the cottage.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
This isn't that.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I think it's I honestly think it's more than they
would normally have done.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I think it's it's I think.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
If you went with a normal this would have been
one and done one year of something whatever. I think
that they put more teeth into it because they know
it has no re.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
I know the Chargers are way out west. There's not
a lot of Charger fans in the Campbeld region. If
we had to do a ranking of the fewest amount
of fans in the Campital region for NFL teams, I'd
be willing to say the Texans and Chargers would be
the bottom of the list. The Texans just because of
the time in which the franchise launched and the Charge
because of just geography. I feel like the Chargers are
going to exceed expectations in year one. But there are
(05:22):
certain people that have a reputation like no matter where
Jim Harbaugh has gone, he has caused problems Michigan Ego,
San Francsco. Forty nine Ers EGO Stanford, San Diego State.
He is hard to work with, but he gets the
job done.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
But most people who are really good at what they
do are like they like, it's just that's just the way.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
It's like.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
It's sad, Like, I mean, you would know you deal
with me. I'm very good at what I do. I
can be difficult.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
I heard a quote from Colin got heard last week.
He said to Nick Wright, because Nick writes that gets
going through a contract negotiation now, And he said some
along lines of if your boss is still like you
in the contract negotiation, you haven't asked for enough. Let's
be want a story number three, you get some late
night baseball out in the Rockies. The Colorado Rockies actually
be in fact of Corsefield hosting the Mets eight forty
(06:13):
first pitch set for that one Rockies Mets haul Blackburn
on the mound for the New York Mets tonight.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Its exciting.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I felt like I felt some sarcas in there. So
I'm curious to see what Blackburn is going to look like.
Okay as a Met all right, no, no, I'm listen.
I'm not against the Mets. I got over to that
that first night thing over that to the first night
the National night out there over in Rentler and my
buddy Lou from Ginos, He's like a.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Match King's of New York.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
I'm like, really, well four and oh, I'm like, yeah,
but you're not gonna be playing in October again. Yeah,
we own the Yankees, remember that when they're still playing
and you're not just came out fired? H yeah, right,
right for you calling people over. I'm like, but like
that's good, good, good for you. I mean you're still
(07:05):
not as good.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
I kind of like.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
That's actually one of my favorite parts of this job.
I really enjoy that. That, Like when we need to
go out and spend time, yeah, not like me, Like
people come prepared, like we're having real good sports conversations,
and when people sping about the table while they're Sarah
Togo whether it's Rivers whatever it might be. Like our
guy Joe, the Jets fan from Rivers, Like last time
I saw him, he had like the third string guys
(07:27):
ready to go for me on the Jets.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
I'm like, he is locked in.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
We had our friend over Mohawkata was going deep with
their Raiders knowledge yesterday when you guys were going back
to about everything.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Like by the way Met fans, I know someone are complaining.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
I like when they agree with me, don't no, that's fine,
but then they feel bad when they try to go
against me and they're wrong.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Please, we love talking sports. I will talk sports all
day with you. He never stopped talking about Baltimore sports.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
I hope somebody gets that reference. That's a real inside
reference there from radio Mets fans. But I'm trying to
get at is that you're a little upset for yesterday's game,
that weird situation where there's two errors and then some
are talking about the netting, it course field or the
balls getting stuck and stuff's moving around.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Odd game last night, weird, strange.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
I know it's a loss, but you go through some
of the things that happened, shrug your shoulders. World is
not ending. Because you lost to the Rockies. More, yes,
that's a theme here, odd, weird, wild and whacky here
in the top four to four. Let's move on to
more weird, wild than wacky. Is there's a double header
for the New York Yankee schedules for today after yesterday's
right down four oh five. We're just moments away here
from the first pitch getting on our way between the
(08:35):
Yankees and the Angels, and then the night camp featuring
those two teams again, a traditional double header seven oh
five scheduled game two. We'll see how that all comes together. Levec,
what do you make of the double header? Any storylines,
anything you're looking at involving the East coast West coast
battle here in the BX Boogie down Bronx.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
You know, historically you you're led to belive that if
a team wins the first game with doubleheader, they won't
win the second. But it's there. It's really about a
fifty to fifty thing. So I'd really like to see
the Yankees gone win two games are supposed to win,
you know, I mean, you've got you've got Luis Heal
on the mouth for him in the first game, uh
second game, they're they're they're going out there with that
(09:16):
Will Warren who had a nice out in his first
time for the Yankees. So I would like to see
the Yankees go out there handles some business and you know,
not for nothing. Maybe maybe, just maybe this will be
important a little bit. Judge wants to hit one over
the fence. That wouldn't be a terrible thing for me.
I wouldn't be mad.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
I don't know if it's just because of potentially the
length of the game tonight, what double headers can be.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
You mentioned the storyline.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Usually splitting in double headers traditionally seem to be what happens.
Feels like somebody might get ejected today. Now Boone's the
most likely suspect, but it feels like one of these
games where the double header is going to be a
six hour long date for the Yankees.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Want to go yeah, toss me and the flatstone. It
just starts yelling at people, what's going on? You get
a home run? Why are you being a I want
to go home?
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Toss me and for those they come on, guys, they're
playing baseball.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
It's an easy job.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Imagine if your boss asked you to come in for
overtime and you worked a double shift one day and
there was a way in which you could go home early.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
This place sucks. I'm not moving these boxes today. Get
out of here, all right. I'm going home.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
The amount of times that I have agreed to do
like marathon shifts, and at some point during the marathon shift,
figured my way out of doing the marathon shift. It's
it's staggering. I go and I'm like, this is what
we're gonna do. It's great, and then something happens. I'm like,
we're gonna leave right now.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
I'm with you. I think you know what.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Point five the play of the day is gonna be
a little abreviated today. Someone finds some odds zero point
five over ejections total between Angels and the Yankees today.
I'm kind of Angels too. One of those guys can
get tossed. Someone gets tossed. They're more likely because they're
out there. It means nothing, no trout like they're looking
around on this pool hoole still here at least like something?
Is anybody here?
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Can I tour the stadium? It looks nice here. Where's
that Weaver kid who used to pitch for us? Is
he any good anymore? What's going on. I stick around
for tomorrow's Giants Lions game. I just sit here has
picked Dan Allions like when I was in Little league.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Those are the storylines for today's The Yankees Angels get
story number one. A pack day of gold medals being
handed out across the Olympics, from wrestling to cycling to
taekwon do boxing is what's getting underway right now. So
a lot of different boxing semi finals and finals happening.
Women's basketballs underway right now, Team USA women playing in
(11:34):
that matchup going on so Levac. A lot of Olympics
things happening today, slowly but surely, by the way, we
get closer and closer to what could be the end
of the Olympic Games. By the way, that is, yes,
it will be the end the semi finals. By the way,
France and Germany on one side of the bracket, Nigeria
in Team USA playing right now.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
I guess it's like huge USA parlay that's right now,
Like it's a it's a five leg parlay.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
And I've got two of them right so far. I
keep waiting for the cash out option to get out.
It just won't give it to me. I'm like, come on,
I want to get out. I know I'm not gonna
win the six hundred and twenty five dollars. Just let
me get two hundred, only two hundred. I'm gone. I'm
out of your hair.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
I've watched one night of Primetime in Paris. I usually
have been gold zoning this or just using the peacock app.
I watched one night of Primetime in Paris, and the
one bit they did was Minkey Day and some other comedian.
I don't think he's on a SID. I think it's
r a different country. They raced the marathon race walk
mixed relay, and if that sounded a little too wordy,
(12:38):
it is because that's the one where it tastes like
a power walk but they're running, but they have a
style to do it.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Spain. By the way, if you're wondering who long.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
You hurt your hips like, you sometimes see it in
the mall, like if you go to the mall right
before a store opens, if you had to pick somebody up,
drops on a set of an event, whatever.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
You're in the mall.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
The mall walkers sometimes have that and the hips are
going like they're down and up and not in like
a healthy way, very frightening. Did you see the one
where the chick was like she had the flag out
because she was like, asso sure she's gonna win, And
then the chick walked right past her and there's nothing
you can do.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
It's all you can start running, can't break into a sprint.
You're in it. You're in a power walk.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
You you back down your power walk speed and you
know you couldn't get it back.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
So that's I do. I do enjoy. I do enjoy
the Olympics me too.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
I'm fascinated by that whole thing. I think it's really funny.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Some of the things that are sports and some of
the things that aren't are made. Like power walking is
a sport, which I will again I will say that,
like they get moving. There's something to it. You see
it in the mall. Grandpa Joan and Grandpa Joe and
Grandma Joan are out there doing laps where they're repaired
and replaced hips. It's impressive. Uh you know else is impressive.
(13:49):
Elevation ten thousand's ability to help you elevate your brand.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Guys, look at us Lavac, not one but two pieces
of elevation ten thousand year.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
I say brand ambassadors. You know, That's what I mean,
that's kind of what it becomes. Right, So like you
you obviously you're gonna go to Elevation for the for
the really backbone stuff. You're you're advertising, your web design,
your web store, all that. And then whenever we're out,
you know, somebody sees what we're wearing. Guys, right now
we're in the little vac and Gas cage jacket. I'm
wearing the Firebirds cage jacket, both made very nicely. Buy
(14:19):
our friends over at Elevation ten thousand. I'm hearing more
and more complimence about our friend Josh and his ability
to help people. It's it's been great. Christian's a good
friend who's always there and make sure that you know
we have what we need when we need it. And
then you know, Dave mclett, this is a this is
a team that is going to you see what they've
been able to do with themselves. You're hearing think about this.
(14:40):
How much more have you heard about Elevation ten thousand lately?
I see it everywhere. Well, if they can do that
for themselves, what can they do for you? Elevate your
brand today? With Elevation ten thousand, I love elevation.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Ten thousand, get more in the way.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Second hour of Lavac and Gas are your voice the
Campa Regian sports fan Fox Sports.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
On five nine.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
It's Lavak and Guzz on ninety five nine FO Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Preseason football. We had most of the Hall of Fame
game last week. Thursday tomorrow we get two games. You
get the Lions at the Giants, you get the Panthers
at the Patriots, and then a full weekend slate of
preseason games Friday Saturday.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
All that.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
But this story that has popped up most recently that
makes it makes so much sense to me is apparently
there is a quote divide between Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts
and their head coach Nick Sirianni, a divide. I'll tell
you what we're hearing and then we'll get into it
(15:43):
a little bit. But here's what it comes down to. Apparently,
during the season last year, Jalen Hurts started to question
Nick Sirianni's ability to call plays, his strategy, all of it.
So there'd be a play called where they're supposed to
go like they only need a couple of yards, and
he Jalen Hurts would check out of the short first
(16:04):
down conversion, go deep to aj Brown to get picked off.
Things of that nature happening throughout the season. Jalen Hurts
going into business for himself because he doesn't believe in
Nick Sirianni is what we're hearing. This is weird to
me because Jalen Hurts was coached by Nick Saban, left
Nick Saban but still sounded like Nick Saban, like an
(16:27):
ultimate coaches kind of guy. For him not to listen
to Sirianni makes me think that some of the stuff
we've heard about Nick Sirianni just being a goober is real.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
You believe it's real. I believe this is the boy
who cried wolf. I believe this is not real. Here's
my problem. Maybe this is far deeper than Sirianni and Hurts.
For me, Eagle fans, most of you seem like fine people.
I blame more of the Philadelphia media for the second
consecutive day.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Gos goes at the media. He says it's their fault.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Think about this, okay, from the late nineties, and I'm
sure older fans can go deeper further.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Back than this.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
The day Donavi McNabb was drafted by the Eagles. The
media in Philly wanted Ricky Williams, and they went to
the draft and said, if it's anybody but Ricky Williams,
boo the pick. McNabb gets booed. How long do we
hear about McNabb not being good enough for Philadelphia. They
got rid of Andy Reid, who you and I what
about a week ago, had a serious conversation if he's
the greatest NFL coach in the history of the league.
(17:27):
They got rid of Ady ree because theyaid he couldn't
get the job done. They ran Doug Peterson out of
town because he won them a Super Bowl with a
backup quarterback and he got them a higher draft pick.
Peterson gone. Chip Kelly had back two back double digit
win seasons. What did the philadelph Eagle fans do with
(17:47):
chip Kelly? They said, Oh, he might be racist, even
though he never was called racists in college. And he
had one bad season and he was gone. So they've
run Chip Kelly, Andy Reid, and Doug Peterson out of Philadelphia. Now,
Nick Sirianni and Eagles can check me on this, please
at Tom guys, tmgo is easy. I believe within the
first two seasons of a career. No Philadelphia Eagle coach
(18:08):
has won more games and has been more successful than
Nick Sirianni. He got into the Super Bowl, had them
within a few plays of beating the Chiefs last year.
For the majority of the season, they're the number one
team in the NFC. Then the weird game, and I'll
admit this about buccketeer fan. Something was wrong in that
game on Monday Night for Tampa and Philly from the
opening kickoff that was not the same Eagle team we
saw for eighty percent of the season. But in very
(18:29):
similar fashion to Pete Alonzo. Well, the locker room doesn't
trust him. Wow, something's going on. Okay, what is it?
What started the fight? Like you've got some details there,
but like was it a week sixteen play call? Was
it a week fifteen comment? Was it a you mentioned
Aj Brown?
Speaker 3 (18:45):
I don't have enough.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
This feels like a manufactured story from Philadelphia that well,
somebody is to blame. It's Sirianni with ignorre like Philly
just can't get out of their own ways at times
that they just have to make stuff up, like this
guy's being great for Philly unbelievable. But because of what
they had a bad five weeks stretch. Now they want
to can Nick Siria Okay, I.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Feel nobody's nobody you want him out? I heard you.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Oh, I think he's I think he's a bum. I
do I think he's a bump? I think I think, well,
not a bump. I think he's a head coach. He's
he's got a lot to learn. Okay, I think what
when Frank Reich said the problem Frank Reich had as
a head coach after Nick Sirianni left was Frank Reich
was the cool head. Sirianni was the fire up guy. Together,
(19:34):
they were good to get because I keep saying Nick Sirianni,
my phone keeps trying to listen to me.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Together they were good.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
I think when when you saw how this all came
together after like he he initially, is that spark of
adrenaline that the team needed?
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Now there?
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Now he's annoying. Now they're annoyed by him. There was
a a story that he took Sirianni in front of
the team, took full responsibility. They felt, yuh, he let
the team down and didn't do a good enough job
empowering the players. Last year he was passionate and from
the heart when he did that, had that conversation, a
team source said as a breath of fresh air, showed leadership.
(20:17):
Now people are pointing out that the guy who you know,
as I mentioned under Sabin Hurts had become like a
coach when he did interviews. He shuts things down as
well as Sabin Belichick those guys do. He was asked, quote,
(20:37):
what have you noticed about Nick being open minded to
change up the offense like he has. What does that
say about him? Hurts quote pause, laugh, I mean, that's
a great question. I don't know that I have the
answer to it. I think it's like you can you
can say that you think this is being overblown. I'm
(21:02):
telling you that Jalen Hurts does not like Nick Sirianni
and maybe vice versa. But the bottom line is you've
been coached by some of the greatest coaches at the
college level ever, maybe one of the greatest coaches we
ever seen in Nick Saban. You're now using that glass,
that magnifying glass as you look at Sirihanie who's running
(21:24):
around going screaming at people and f you and people,
and you're like.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Is that my leader? Because that's not my leader.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
I may have missed you say and say this part
because it's really important too, because you mentioned Nick Saban
who he played for, Lincoln Riley, who he played for.
Did you mention Jalen Hurts played for his dad, his
own father.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
I thought coach's kid. Yep, So there we go.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Like that seems to some people like a small detail,
Like guys, the people play Little League no, no, no when
you play for your dad. So when you go from
dad to Nick Saban to Lincoln ry to Nick Sirianni,
that's all about your point, Levac, because there is almost
this trust of wait a second, you're the fourth best
(22:08):
coach I've ever played for. I'm taking my dad, I'm
taking say it, I'm taking Lincoln Riley, and so would say, what,
that's a pretty good resume. Like people are more inclined
to defend their fathers. That's what it seems, especially in
the football world, that if they've gotten you a part
of your career where he is. So I think there
is something a combination of it, like so, okay, let's
play this out though. Okay, let's say this is true.
(22:28):
Let's say Jalen Hurts has played in his mind for
better coaches of the Nick Sirianni. The reason why the
team's not working well is because they need a better.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Head coach, not not just better coaches. He doesn't respect
this coach. Yes, okay, well, because you may never play
for a better coach than the ones you played for,
but you may still respect the guy you're playing for.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
And I don't think he respects Nick. And I think
that's the problem. Because let's say the egos make a decision. Okay,
they say, you know what, Hurts doesn't respect or even
think that Sirianni is his guy. We believe even Jalen
more than they believe in Sirianni. We've decided to listen
to Philadelphia sports talk radio somewhere Ken Shotts yelling fire
(23:08):
everybody somewhere, our buddy Mike Gill's screaming from Atlantic City
like a nut.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
All Right, we're.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Getting rid of Sirianni, even though we want eleven and six. Okay,
So what solves that You're gonna let Jalen Hurts be
lebron JJ Redick can behind his head. Coach gonna grab
something from a podcast like is he gonna have hires?
I really don't know the end result that if you're
star quarterback, Jalen Hurts could have statistically, truly, statistically, Jalen
Hurts could have the best season of any quarterback in
the NFL coming up. Philadelphia could go back to the
(23:35):
super Bowl this season. So, if you believe it's Hurts,
how having you do all these things? I don't know
what the end result is because then it's the empowerment
of the player. Well, if it's not your dad, Nick
Saban or Lincoln Riley, who are you gonna pick?
Speaker 3 (23:47):
We really have it?
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Had that happen in the NFL. The empowerment of the player.
We see it in the NBA sort of in baseball
a little bit, but I don't know if we've actually
seen it in the NFL, where one guy says Aaron Rodgers,
Aaron Rodgers a great example.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Yeah, I mean it's not it's not. It's not a
goody he did.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
I mean he did, and nobody was allowed to be
fired because he didn't want them fired. It's it's definitely
not as prevalent as it is in the NBA, but
it is there. You asked me what the results are
going to be? The results are what happened to the
Eagles after they started the season ten and one, meaning
they are going to be a disjointed, loser team. That's
(24:26):
what I say loser. Well, like, I know you're smiling
at me. But you start the season ten and one,
you beat Buffalo in overtime. Then you start to see
the cracks in the foundation. For whatever reason. You get
smoked by San Francisco, good team, they're smoking almost everybody.
You get beat down by Dallas, which they were at home.
They were beating everybody at home. Okay, you know those
(24:48):
are explainable losses except for the fact that you're a
power team. You're supposed to be to beat those teams,
not get smoked by those teams, especially sanfran at home.
Now you go to Seattle, they beat you the Giant
You beat the Giants, but it looked like the Giants
that have shot that game. You lose to the Cardinals,
and you lose to end the season at the Giants.
A Giants team that was not very good beat you.
(25:10):
I think the cracks are there. I think this is foundational.
Oh and now your Hall of Fame Center ain't there
to help bridge that gap anymore. Kellen Moore is gonna
come in as your offensive coordinator and try to bridge
the gap between Nick and Jalen. I think I think
the Eagles are in trouble this year.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Brother good, you know what, I'm okay with that? Good.
I love that.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I hate I hate that, like those years where I go,
I think the Rams are gonna win the Super Bowl,
and then there's years where I'm like, you know what,
my my spicy take it. I just think the Eagles
are gonna be dude too. I think that Eagle is
just flying towards the ground right now. That's what I got.
It's more profitable when it's gonna be a good team.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
I don't know what would make you more happy now
thinking about we're gonna get an early jumple back by
the way on the Mohawks Chevrolet playing the night because
our five o'clock hours gonna be so packed with some
awesome guests. So I want to talk about Lillian Dave
Fine Jewelers. Lillian David Fine Jeler's you could help what
a knocking it down.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Nobody could see that vaca left hand from the other
side of.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
The studio float he Hey, Steph Curry, take notes.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Maybe you're gonna get hot, you know, like the old days. That,
like the circus, the old fair, you win a prize.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
You don't have to do you don't have to do that.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
At Lily and David Fine Julidu, you can just walk
in and say, I'm looking for a pair of earings.
Look for a necklace, a ring, an engagement ring, upgrade
the wedding band.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Some of you guys I can name names.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
You may have bought your wedding band when you were younger,
and now you make more money. Maybe she wants an
upgrade when she starts seeing an increased spot in your salary.
Lilian and David Finejelers can help you get the upgrades
as well. They have a jeweler on site that make
all those changes happen for you. And by the way,
it's the family owned and operated business.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
I know from experience.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
My wedding band, Lillian David Fine Jeler's my wife's engagement ring,
the anniversary gifts, push gifts and more. Lillian David Fine Jewelers.
And you're slacking on date night or vacations, maybe this
could help you as well. Lillian David Fine Juliers help
you find exactly what she's looking for. Stop in shops
at Wilton, Leen, David Finjels, All right, Lavack, a play
of the day, and then a packed five o'clock hour,
(27:09):
all on the way. Next you're listening to the voice
of the Capitol Region Sports saying Fox Sports ninety five
nine and nine eighty Slavac and Guz on ninety five
nine Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Oh wow, we gotta we gotta keep it moving today.
We've got three guests coming too in studio one over
the phone. It's gonna be like a little like mini
radio row coming up at the five o'clock third hour here.
But it is time for the play of the day.
It's brought to by Mark Chevrolet. Together, let's drive and
Mark Chevy. Would they always go out of their way
to please you?
Speaker 1 (27:38):
No, no, hang on, I gotta complain. I have to
keep playing off the top of the gates. Here for
the play of the day. What a fail by me yesterday.
We will own victories. We have had moments where we
pump ups was wrong. We can shout about parlays and
big hits we have. This is legendary. The whiff I
had yesterday. Yeah, you did kind of think I had
two plays that I wanted and spoke into existence.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yesterday. I said to you, Levac, what do we do
with the White Sox? What do we do with Chicago?
You didn't touch it.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
I didn't touch it. But we talked more about the
White Sox A's game yesterday than that game ever deserves.
And what happens the White Sox win. The White Sox
broadcast set up enough out of him. Enough he's not
getting played on the air because I didn't get the cut,
but enough we had the White Sox sitting right there
with plus money. We didn't tick the wager. And then
(28:31):
to top it off, I talked to you yesterday on
the air about how you and I are going to
combine our home run parlays. Me you Boston and if
you feel you got a hot tip on a home
run coming in baseball, let us know. Jor Don Alvarez
is my play this week. I play him yesterday, like
you know what. I won't blay him tomorrow, but we
all know it's out in the open. Guy says Jordon
(28:52):
Alvarez is his home run parlay for the week. What
does Alvarez do yesterday? Right over the fence?
Speaker 3 (28:58):
It gohoes I know, and the weird Oh my gosh,
and you you know.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
You made fun of me for not picking it, and
like there was a part of me that wanted to
tell you when you did, like, hey, you'll probably be
the only one that works.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
And it did.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
But the weirdest thing so you texted into the group
that we're in. And then the only reason I saw
it is Boston Dan liked the text that it Your
text never came to my phone. It was the weirdest
thing I saw. I'm sitting there a player on my phone.
I was more into that that was than I was
what was going on. I was like, why didn't I
actually see this tech?
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Here's why I mean, I've came through.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
I spelled his name so awful because that was trying
to I edited it and I don't know if the
edit features on your phone. But I've learned this today
in football fans, you can yell and scream at basketball
fans whatever you like to wager on today August seventh,
twenty twenty four, I'm claiming baseball is the most frustrating
thing to wager on, because, like, at least in football,
if you lose a college football bet, college will bost
(29:54):
my favorite thing to wag dron at least if you
miss yeah a reason you know what they went for
two field goal and you wait a week baseball, you
feel like you've got a good tip on something, but
you got to figure out within of that four game series.
When you're firing off the wager, maybe do all four
you cover your butt. I'm very frustrated by wagering on baseball.
I need the NFL to come back. I need college
(30:15):
football to come back. I need some Friday night NBA games.
I'm not happy with baseball. And because of all those things,
I said, I'll fire off a baseball bet here in
about three minutes, all right.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
I am, I have. I have a baseball bet I'm
gonna do.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Say, okay, I am gonna do a home run parlay
just because i've been now I'm into that. But I
don't even feel right putting those out there because I
feel like those are lottery tickets, like you know whatever
I think today, four lagger baby Yankees money line both
games over both games plus five fourteen woo. That's seven
(30:50):
to eighty over like a normal flat number on my account.
So seven dollars eighty cents is a forty seven dollars payback.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
What's up? Okay? I like it. I'm I'm just gonna
go with Mets Rockies over tonight ten.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
I like it's probably probably way better chance of winning
Mets Rockies.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
You said in the top four to four you're interest
in how Blackburn continues to mold into the Mets starting rotation. Uh,
if you want to take an over in runs at
course Field, you will never criticize that wager. I will
never criticize that wager. So nice and easy tonight. No
more complaining over ten and a half runs tonight, Rockies Mets.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
All right, I think this. I mean those those are
all good. I've got to I'm definitely gonna do something.
I'm waiting for Brent Rooker to hit a home run
this week in the same pool that you're in. He
let me down last night as they let down the
world and lost to the White Sox. What is that
all about?
Speaker 3 (31:42):
You? You? You were right on that one. You were right.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
You're like, I'm not touching this. This is weird. I'm
not touching it. But the White Sox got the w
and Rooker got no home runs.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Tomorrow and Friday. I'm rooting for Rooker for you. I
hope you or me or so me win that that
home run parlay where and it's a lot of fun,
it's active. Keeps it following everything going on the next
two days in this segment, our play of the day
will be the two most difficult days of the summer
to figure out a play, not because of the action
that's going on, because we have preseason football and baseball
(32:11):
and other things on the way, but because of the
weather that could potentially affect the East Coast coming up
in more so Saratoga, and how many scratches could be
on the way and delays and everything else. Stay with us,
our guy, Andrew Champagne. Tomorrow is scheduled in this regular
three twenty slot, But just be prepared that a lot
of the wagers you're hoping to gain could get moved.
Give Quinn and can tear the heads up, you know what,
(32:32):
Give Quinn the heads off. Please, Guys told me that
there's gonna be a lot of scratches today. He please
told me, just look at your phone before you fire
off a wager tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Can you do that for me? Just tell me, Quinn.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
I'll try, I'll try to remember, I don't know if
there's any coach in the man.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
I mean, you know, he does what he wants to do.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
He lives, he marches to the beat of his own drummer,
and I respect him for it. If we're being perfectly honest,
it's fun. It's a fun universe to one. It's a
great place to visit Quinn's mind. But I wouldn't want
to live. I would not want to live there. Uh
speaking of interesting stories real quick, while we got a
couple of seconds. First of all, Billy Bean, who was
(33:12):
an activist the I believe the second ever former Major
League baseball player to ever come out of the closets
as a gay man. He passed away. Uh so, so
sad news for him and his thoughts. Prayers go to
him and his family. Many people have confused him. So
he's Billy Bean b E A n with Billy Bean
(33:33):
b E A n E who the Moneyball movie is
based on. Brad Pitt plays that man. Two parts still
alive and to our knowledge, not gay. What I wonder
what's weirder being the guy compared to the guy the movies,
man who was super like famous and successful, or being
that super famous, successful guy who then everybody goes, yeah,
(33:53):
but you're gay, right and you're not, you know what
I mean, like like there's nothing wrong with being gay,
but unless you're not gay, and then you don't want to
hear that.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
No, and like constantly both of their lives. They have
the same name and work basically in the same sport
doing very similar things. In a popular position, you just
gotta go middle initial or William.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Bean or Bill Bean.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
I know you mentioned the different spelling, but spellings are
now you gotta go middle initial.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah, Billy, Billy k Bean.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
We saw the guy from the Jaguars do it? John
the artist formerly known as Josh Allen. I believe it's
Heinz Allen is now his last name.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Yeah, that's that's so, that's so crazy.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
But yeah, I mean, you know what was the the
there was the I think it was an offensive lineman
for the safe just for Anthony Davis whoever year would
have to put out like God, I am not the
basketball player. I have two eyebrows, not one. Please stop
messaging me, please please please.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Steve Smith, there's Steven A. Smith. Steve Smith seeing Michael B. Jordan.
Michael B.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Jordan, who's more famous right now, Michael Jordan, Michael B. Jordan,
Michael Jordan. What a compliment though of a question to
ask Michael B.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Jordan. Yeah, I don't know. You think? Do you think?
Speaker 2 (35:07):
Do you if you put pictures in front of young women?
Who's this guy? Who's this guy?
Speaker 1 (35:13):
More?
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Get Michael B. Jordan right than Michael Jordan right right?
Under thirty? Maybe I can see that, okay under thirty,
which you know that's Hey, listen, that's the demo. I
don't for what, I don't. I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
I'm very indifferent about Michael B. Jordan as an actor,
but I do like two really funny cuts about him.
There's the one cut of him when like he broke
up as a girlfriend and he's like in the front
row by himself at a basketball game, slowly clapping to
the crowds cheerting for him after a break.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
Oh, like, hey, everyone likes that guy.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
And then the one cut where he's getting interviewed on
the red carpet from a girl who bullied him in
high school and he knew who she was immediately started
calling her out about it during the interview. Two great
cuts shout out to Michael B.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Jordan. Michael B. Jordan for former Human Torch.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Human Torch also was on the Wire. I only saw
a few episodes. I know he's on it, Yep. A
bunch of movies. He's been in a bunch of things.
Famous guy, good looking dude, great Abs Killmonger.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
You know.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
So he's been the Human Torch and he's been a
bad guy for a Black Panther, Chris Evans, Human Torch
and Captain America. Uh now, Robert Downey Junior Iron Man
and uh doctor Doom. A lot of these guys doubling up.
There's only a few actors who can actually be superheroes,
apparent Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool of Green Lantern and part of
(36:28):
Blade Trinity.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Yeah, he's I mean, he's just he's just kind of
greedy at this point. He's just trying to get all
the superhero roles. Let's somebody else do it.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Yeah, there's somebody, anybody else come on, and we missed
a bunch of them.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
There's a bunch more in there. Uh a is uh
we gotta make room for the third hour.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
We do.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
We gotta talk to Jordan Bodiano, who's just moments away.
But before we do that, let's talk about our friends
over the Integrative Sleep Center and balls.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
The spot I thought you'd never ask.
Speaker 2 (36:51):
I've got a mouthpiece that keeps my airway open, reduces
my storing, and allows me to breath throughout the night.
The reason that I know this mouthpiece work as well
as it does, it's not just that I have the energy,
not just that doctor Dreer and Lorianne and Ivy have
had me retested and and if it's a noticeable difference
in my auction levels and everything else. Because I'm about
(37:13):
to leave for a family trip to Disney, and I
bought a suite for the family. But I believe we're
all in the same room, you know, different beds, same room.
Everyone has asked me three times minimum. You're gonna pack
your mouthpiece, right, you have your mouthpiece. You're not going
to forget your mouthpiece. You have your mouthpiece, And I go,
(37:35):
why are you guys so worried? And where about my health? No,
we don't want you to snore because it's it's horrendous,
it's frightening, it scares people.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
We'll get no rest.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Mickey will leave Disney if you don't bring your mouthpiece
from the Integrative Sleep Center Embosson Spa.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Are you tired of hearing about you're snoring? Are you
tired of not breathing at night?
Speaker 2 (37:52):
Eight five six five Doctor fred Dreer and the Integrave
Sleep Center in Bossive Spa. The mouthpiece is easy to
travel with, easy to clean, and it keeps the family quiet,
which is more important than me being quiet for being
perfect honest? Uh so, don't forget five one, eight eighty
five sixty five doctor fred Dreyer and the Integrat Sleep
Center in boss That spy helped me sleep better, gonna
help you sleep better too. It's Fox Sports Radio ninety
five nine and ninet eighty
