How about this one? Ravens tight end Mark Andrews avoids
injury in a serious car accident today, the tight end
for the Baltimore Ravens, one of the top tight ends
in the NFL, said this at a statement released by

on the team quote, I appreciate everyone's thoughts as well wishes.
This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing
seat belts and remaining alert while driving a car. According
to the reports, he was injured while driving into the facility. Andrews,
twenty eight years old, didn't practice on Wednesday, scheduled day off.

a player last year with Lamar Jackson, that if he
had stayed healthy throughout twenty twenty three, what he could

to be back to October. Samuelaporta was awesome last year

to give him that love as a top tier tight.

Just to clarify, by bounce back, do you also mean
guys who are coming off of injuries?

That is correct. Nobody wanted to take Christian McCaffrey. Granted,
I still got him in a top ten pick, carried
me all the way to a championship last year.

I liked it a lot better in Hour number one.
We agreed on a lot of stuff, but not so
much now when I also had that strategy going into drafts,
and if you're drafting ahead of me and are targeting
guys like Nick Chubb, I don't like your strategy as
much because I want those players, including Mark Andrews, But.

I don't have to have a battle.

I hope I'll take it before you. Sometimes I wish
it didn't have an open microphone in front of me

We talked about it earlier in the show. If you
missed it, Apple Spotify, the iHeart app vikings at quarterback
rookie from Michigan first round draft pick, Jane J. McCarthy
will miss the entire twenty twenty four regular season because

of a torn meniscus. There was talks of when did
the injury happen. Most have pointed to some play during
the match against the Raiders in Game one of the preseason.
For the Vikings, meniscus injuries we've seen maybe be just
about two months in times, depending on the severity. Instead
this injury ending the season for JJ McCarthy. Kevin O'Connell

said this about the injury today and JJ McCarthy quote,
I really believe that JJ has kind of confirmed to
me in a lot of our coaches and players that
we got the right guy in the building for the future,
and he did it in a short amount of time.
That's what makes this news hard because you know just
how exciting it could have been as a daily, minute
to minute progress moving forward. But I think the optimism
should be felt by anyone in our building and hopefully

our fans. Zach Harris, JJ McCarthy, what is his impact
for the Minnesota Vikings and what does it mean for
the entire NFL seeing one of the star top first
round picks not taking the field.

I'm fine with it, Like I said, not too often
do you see a first round quarterback for the first year. Obviously,
he doesn't have a choice in say he would rather
be playing. But I love the fact that he's going
to be sitting the bench, taking his time learning to playbook.
So that way when he goes into next season, when
he gets the chance to start, he's not overthinking. He's

going out there and playing.

Yeah, I mean, obviously I wouldn't want to see him
get hurt. I want to see him out there. He
looks so good in the preseason for a short sample
size that it looked like he was ready to silence
the haters and show off what he could really do.
At times, people looked at JJ McCarthy and said, he's
not the reason why Michigan won the national championship. It's
rare to say that in football, more so even college football.

Than if you made a list of reasons why a
team won a championship, a quarterback might be fourth third
behind Michigan's coaching and defense.

But you can only do what you're asked to do.

There you go. And if he was such a bad
quarterback for Michigan, why we say a first round pick.
You know, he was so terrible. Why do not just
go in the first round but get trade up for

for McCarthy for twenty twenty five, but they're projected Q
being one is now former Jet quarterback, former Niner quarterback,

I am willing now to discuss the Vikings as the
worst team in the NFL, a little combination of the
division being stacked. Darnald, although skill wise and town wise,
has shown flashes. He still has those wow moments, and

or even moments for the jetsmen, Oh what a throw? Oh,

you know, just like the like if you're watching it
at Rivers Casino, if you're watching the Friends, like, oh, Like,
he just has that wow power with some of those
throws he has, but they haven't resulted in wins. So
Viking fan might be twenty twenty five for you. Let's

Mets baseball. We're gonna dive deeper into this later in
this hour, probably the next ten to fifteen minutes. We

had some drama last night involving the Oakland A's and
New York Mets. If you missed it, we're gonna talk

As long as they win, that's all that really matters
to me. So I'm gonna go basic. I don't think
they're gonna whoop the White Sox. I think they're gonna
win six to two all the day.

what's over achieve for the Yankees, And if you playing
the White Sock, you should have went like two twenty
three to two is overachieving. I don't even Yeah, I

I'll go with mediocre because I think the Yankees will

you have three sports team logos on your body. I've
met people with one. I think i've met somebody with
two Levak's. I feel like Levak has the backdrop of
the Yankees. I've met a female and males with sports hat.
I've never met somebody with three. You've got the Mets,

you've got the Eagles, and you've got the knicks, you
feel like you've got stories behind them all or one sleeve. Sir,
Let's hear the story of how this inkned up on
your arm.

First of all, I have four sports teams.

That's what I missed.

Eagles, Mets, Nick's Phillies.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Oh I did see the Phillies. Okay, So you could
see the confusion here for me because there's two baseball
teams there are, Okay, So let's hear the story about
how two baseball teams and four sports teams ended up
on your arm.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Okay, so kind of a sad story.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Oh no, not I it's sad sad. I just hiked
it up for ninety seconds about.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Crookt for a giant sad story. So I never had
a father growing up. I had a stepfather, not the
greatest of people, wasn't a great communicator. But if there
was one time that we ever connected, it was during sports.
As you know, Mets Phillies big rivalry there, so just
to bust balls, I would always be a Phillies fan

(21:46):
to pick on the Mets fan, but we would always
go to Mets games together. So my love for both
teams kind of grew from there. So we never had
a great relationship, but when it came to sports, that
was the only time that we really connected.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
That's a hell rial three though. You know, like Mets
Phillies goes back and forth. It's rare you. I'm serious.
You might be the only person in the United States
with the Phillies and Mets tatoo on the same arm.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Seriously, guarantee you.

I was like, I want to, like, I wish there
was a way we could spread this across social like
if you tagged the next time the Phillies and Mets
played each other, if you tagged both, Teina accounts like,
is there anybody out there like me and just showed

connection there with the Phillies and the Mets. Same story,
very similar with the Eagles and the Knicks.

So Eagles, we were always a big Syracuse fan, you know,
my uncle would take me to a Syracuse game every
once in a while. Kind of grew from there, Donovan
mcna going to Philadelphia, That's how I became a Philadelphia
Eagles fan. Before that, all my friends were Bills fans,
so I kind of was like with the Bills. And
then I grew old enough to be like, hey, I
want my own team. So Donovan mca to Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
That's what I'm talking about. In Sack Harris, who knows
maybe a young Zach Harris and a young guys back
in ninety seven ninety eight were both inside the then
known as the Carrier Dome, Section three zero three year
old double Z see one and two or is at
where a young Gazie cub would be perched watching McNabb
and Morob Conrad and everybody else doing their thing. That
is I love that because we both have that connection

to the late Syracuse football team that won back to

in the headlines, like cleaning that up a little bit.
But what do you make of what Austin Adams did
last night? Taunting in the Mets because he's got some
history with the franchise and going over the top with

I love it. I love whatever juices you up for
that game, for that series, for that year, whatever gets

guys who are known for certain things that they do,

more younger and younger pitchers have just backed away from that,
like that old skin right, Like the approach of that

Zach and I are, then you've got to be with this.
And I'm glad you took that road here as a

there's some guys that go above and beyond. I got

to transfer. He could have read something mean about himself
on social media. And as silly and as stupid as
that sounds, those are variables you can't control when you're
wagering on sports. Like when you're a professional, grown man
adult and you've got a decent rate on what matchups
and weather and all those things, injuries play a factor. Allegedly,

I'll use that term. Allegedly. College football is supposed to
have more detailed injury reports this year. I feel like
that's gonna be very much like hockey. Oh, the running
back is a lower body injury.

I don't think we're net anything out of it. So yeah,
I do know people who won't touch college because of
there are too many variables. I love wagering on college football.
I love the NFL a lot of fun. But there
are something cool about college football. Firing off bets at
