Speaker 1 (00:00):
Slovak and guys on ninety five nine Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I know we're excited about the NFL season, which kicks
off officially tomorrow evening. We'll do our show live from
Mohawks Chevrolet, the home of tailgates in the Capitol region.
The perfect place to get your tailgate party on because
you get your Silverado over there. If you get an
Evy Silverado's, I mean, all your tailgates are electric.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
We'll look at that. Send out to the marketing team.
Huh Gray Things, she's the big shots. A look at
this you.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Got, Yeah, we got the dealership two point zero. What
happening right here? That's that's what's going on right now. No,
the the reason I bring up last year the Jets
and Jets fans were fever pitch, and rightfully so.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Like the level of hope that you were given.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
At that point, I don't I don't think we'd ever
seen like, at least not not in green, you know.
And I did not mean to rhyme again. I apologize,
and I promise this will get less corny.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
The best part is I hope people heard Levec crumpling
up that piece of paper as if he had written
that joke down and like that didn't work out here,
that one didn't land.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Let's go bring up humor again in a second, because
there's this story out there that I find interesting. No,
but so, like everybody was fired up, and and Aaron
Rodgers was like the lightning round of that hope. He
handled himself perfectly. He was at all the local events,
He's going to Rangers and Knicks games.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
He was running with the American flag. What a moment, right.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Right right up until then, everything was perfect and then
the Achilles explodes, and so did all the hopes and
dreams of the Jests.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
They still won seven games, And don't forget your home
for Jets football. This season is Fox Sports ninety five
nine eighty. Every Jet game you can hear right here. Well,
like you knew that, you knew right then, like this,
unless Zach Wilson suddenly figured out you were in trump, well,
unless you had a Kurt Warner, Jeff Hostetler, you know,
Steve de Bergh type moment.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, go go think about that. You knew you were
in trouble because the season was was hinging on Rogers. Now,
the difference is this year you still have Rodgers. He's
by all reports, about as healthy as a forty plus
year old man's won't get on a football field. It's
not all his people there anymore. There's a mixture. Now

(02:30):
there's a little bit like like last year it was
ninety nine percent Rogers power. One percent went to Salah
and and the big GM his name is It just
popped out of my head, Douglas.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
You can't see me by the way, laughing when Vaca.
I think I started them where I'm blake. He's like
all his people. It's almost like a club. Look, we
let everybody associate with Aaron Rodgers. Then now the rope went.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Up, right, Wait, it was ninety nine percent Rogers, one
percent you know Joe and Big Game Bob. This year
it's probably four five percent Rogers fifty five percent. Joe
Douglas has a little more power. They're doing something. They
ran their own draft. It was nice, you know, they
didn't have to listen to Rodgers and everything.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Nobody had.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Nobody had to drink ayahuasca tea and before they made
a pick. But like, let's be realistic. If four plays
into this Rodgers blows out his other achilles. The seasons
because I think something's happening that I don't think is
fair because as I watch as we get, as we

(03:33):
get ready for this season, I feel like a lot
of pressure is being put on another guy who came
back last year from injury. I feel like a lot
of pressure is being put on a guy who could
be one of the more electric football players out there.
But it's a guy who hasn't played a full season
in the NFL. Well, I guess he did technically play

(03:54):
a full season last year, but he was banged up
for a lot of it.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Brece Hall is getting.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
That love. Breese Hall is getting fantasy football love. The
problem with love, love comes with pressure. Do you know
who has the second best odds to lead the NFL
in yards from scrimmage this year? And by the way,
if you listening to Dan Patrick this morning, you already
know God's handed in the air.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Uh Bress Hall. It is Briese Hall.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
So so the odds makers have said Christian McCaffrey will
most likely have the most yards from scrimmage. Right after him,
the best odds are Breese Hall. And then it's you know, uh,
Derrick Henry Sakwon Barkley. You know, it's the usual suspects
after that. So Breese Hall, who played seven games in

(04:41):
twenty two, played seventeen in twenty three, but he was
coming back from an injury.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
He's shown you he's electric, he's great. But I would,
I would.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I don't think it's a treacherous limb. I think it's
a limb that could hold my fat ass. I'm willing
to go out on and say that if something were
to happen where Aaron Rodgers is not under center for
the majority of these games, if Tyrod Taylor or Jordan
Travis is a starting quarterback for more than three games

(05:15):
this year, Breece Hawk could lead the league in yards
with scrimmage, and the Jets are still not a deep
run of the playoffs, maybe not even a playoffs even
at all.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I'm ooh that last part.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Man.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Sometimes I think I know where you're going, and you
get turn the wheel right at the second, I don't
know where we're going, which is the fun part about
the show. But I almost ninety percent agree with what
you said. But the talent of it there that I
would just add something that, Okay, let's play the Rogersonario out.
Although Jet fans and Oe hurts that we back thinks
if Rogers goes down in a backup quarterbacks, then Breece
Hawll can still have a monster and you have a

(05:46):
better you have a better you have better quarterbacks this year.
That's what you hope that Tyron's a little bit older
and Jordan Travis the way he was talking about a
start to stay, Zach Wilson, Taylor, I would take Taylor
and Travis. Yeah, okay, I watched what happened post Jordan
Travis Florida State. Can we reverse the voting for awards
now for impactful?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
If anything, Jets, you might that might be your diamond
they're off, that might be your If everything works out
perfectly two years from now, he could be your guy.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
I was just to say he's got to get healthy and
figure out all those injuries. Could Breesehall statistically do what
you said with those injuries? Absolutely, he definitely could do.
The Jets win.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Eight nine games without Rogers. No, even if Breese Hall
is the leader in the yards of scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
If I'm y seven is what I keep going to,
I guess you could fight me on to eight with that.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
The reason I go back, well, here's the pro nine
wins and that's it. You're not gonna get to the postseason.
And if you say the AFC East is better as
the division, I would say it's not as good because
Buffalo seems to be falling back a bit. Jet's schedules
a little easier just because of where they finished last season.
I would say seven would proud. I wouldn't bet the over.
Let's put it like that. But what I want to

(06:53):
get do about Breese Hall is that you said statistically
he could have that good of a season and maybe
the Jets could find him as the most impactful place
layer secondary to Rogers. However, isn't there also a scenario
of what you just talked about statistically about how Breese
Hall could be that that also could happen if Rogers
is actually healthy. Oh like that's.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
If Rogers is healthy, then Breece Hall could, Breese Hall
and Garrett Wilson could be stat leaders in the NFL.
But and and that doesn't even mean Rogers needs to
be one.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Well, well, think about that statement alone, right, Well, both
three year guys, they're both less than five years in
the NFL. I think Wilson's second year in the NFL
that realistically not new York bias, not Jet craziness. Wants
everything to happen once.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
They're both the same draft like, let's let's be clear.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Twenty twenty two. Yeah, wow, I knew Freesaw that Iowa
was stay COVID team got so much love that is
crazy to think about. There both two years in the
league now, well two years past when they were draft.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
First and second round picks.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Man, So Dougan's no way doing so well. Let's talk
about this then, right, So less than four years in
the league, same draft class, really stick expectations. We both
just they're agreed. Breese Hall is in the discussion for
statistically being one of the top running backs in the NFL.
If Rodgers is healthy, we'll just go with this. Uh,
we'll go with this side of it. Rogers being healthy.

(08:12):
Gara Wilson, super young player in the discussion statistically being
a top five to ten wide receiver if Rogers is healthy.
The defense. I know that doesn't affect Rodgers as much,
but it really does because they're on the field more.
When Jet fan can argue six if you want to
be positive, hell, you could say seven reasons they won

(08:33):
seven games last season was always the defense. They've resulted
in seven wins, not so much the offense. So the
Jet defense can be talked about as being one of
the best in the league, defense wide, receiver, running back. Oh,
by the way, people believe they can win the division.
That's all still on the table. With a Hall of
Fame quarterback under center. Think about the impact of one player.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
And I know we did this out here last summer,
but this is my point, and I think I think
I think you without even know what I'm trying to say,
I think you're backing me up. We're not talking about
Rogers because we know Jet fan is very skintich right now,
and we listen, everybody's in on the Jets. We're now

(09:15):
a Jet station and nobody banged that drum louder than
me whenever you started, you and I were talking about it.
I'm like, if we were ever gonna get the Jets,
right now is the time to do it. Because the
solid drafts, good deal, everything is there.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
It's a couple of tweeks.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
I might making the coaching staff a couple couple might
be a couple of things, but everything's right there to
go right now. The bottom line is the narrative from
last year, whether you want to believe it or not,
is the narrative for this year. If Aaron Rodgers is good,
the Jets will be good. Like that's it. If Aaron

(09:51):
Rodgers is out, so are the Jets. I'm watching everybody
gush and drool over Brits Hall and Garrett Wilson and
what's going on with Son Reddick can bubbah all of
those stories. Those are what you call bees kid bees
in the industry. A block story. A is Aaron freaking Rogers,
And I think he makes us all nervous now after

(10:12):
last year. And also I think he makes people nervous
who everybody who sat around and went green Bay just
doesn't know how to treat him, Like everybody who looked
at everybody looked at him the way they look at
that crazy wife in your neighborhood and goes Steve doesn't
know how to treat Brenda. Brenda's she just needs to
be loved. No, no, Brenda crazy. Steve, I suck too,

(10:33):
but Brenda crazy. Aaron is crazy. Green Bay did everything
they couldn't take care of that guy, and he crazy.
So like we're sitting here and I think a lot
of media, a lot more than I realized. Are Jets fans,
and now I am a Jets fan because we are
a Jets station. If the Jets do well, Fox Sports
Radio ninety five nine does better, WLFAX does better. If

(10:58):
Aaron Rodgers is out there slinging the rock, I like that. Okay,
this is the thing. We can't control that narrative. There's
no control that narrative. Aaron Rodgers could go out Game
three completely healthy, averaging three hundred and forty five yards
of the air, two touchdowns, no interceptions. Again, he's just
on one. He's on a heater. Game three, come on go.

(11:22):
I think I'd rather become a scholar.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
And walk off the field because he's crazy.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
So I think we've all the narrative now has become
Bryce Hall and Hassan Raddick and all that.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Those stories are great, but they ain't the real story.
One other thing to add to that, and there's a
lot to that, Levac. I think you're right. We found too.
I was backing you up and not realizing where you're
going with that. Shouts our guy, Chris goodis our sales team.
He also uncovered you in the Capitol region, some of
you business owners, some of you advertisers are also finding

(11:53):
out you might have been Jet fans. Appreciate his love
because we're getting a lot of support by the Jets
are in the Capital region, people wanting to be a
part of Fox Sports five nine out of our guy.
Goody's leading the way with that, which is so cool.
But one other thing that about Aaron Rodgers in this
twenty twenty four Jet roster. Think about what Rogers is
going to be asked to do this season because there
are some Jet haters, Bill's fans, Dolphin fan, Patriot fans,

(12:13):
there are some Jet haters who aren't gonna want to
see the success maybe nationally or locally that people want
to see out a Gangreen this season. Think about the
final few years for Rodgers in Green Bay, MVP caliber
player before he signed all from lambeau Field. He had
the highest contract in NFL history because that's what he
demanded and they gave it to him. The rosters better

(12:34):
for the New York Jets in twenty twenty fourth than
his final seasons for the Packers. So he's not going
to be asked to do what Josh Allen's gonna be
asked to do in Buffalo with they're going a bit
younger on offense. Hell, he's not gonna be asked to
do what Dak Prescott's been asked to do in Dallas'
offense this season, with a lack of a running game
at a new offensive line, in a highly paid receiver.
Now Aaron Rodgers has a top tier running back we

(12:55):
just agreed on statistically can be in the top ten.
A young, exciting wide receiver. Conckling the tight end. There's
always questions about Jets tight ends, but seems like he's
fined a revamped offensive line and a fantastic defense, and
you've got a veteran Hall of Fame quarterback. They're not
gonna ask Rogers to throw the ball forty five times
again and run for sixty like other offenses. Get back
there be the artist, be the philosophalizer.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Is that you're making a mistake? Oh I am?

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Is it the word philosophalizer for white Goodman and dodgeball?

Speaker 2 (13:23):
No? No, no, what he's asked to do? He was
asked to throw the damn football on the fourth play
of the game, not hold on to it, looks for
a giant play and end up getting creamed and losing
his achilles. You can ask Aaron Rodgers to do anything.
You can ask Aaron Rodgers do your damn Texas. Aaron
Rodgers gonna do what Aaron Rodgers wants to do. And

(13:44):
if Aaron Rodgers thinks Brees Hall's getting a little too
much attention, I'd like more. If he thinks Garrett Wilson
to get a little too much attention, I want more.
If he thinks, you know, my good friend Alan Lazard
signed with his team to do good things. He gonna
force the ball to Alan Lazard. He gonna throw the
ball down the field. He's gonna shade, he's audible, He's
gonna do Aaron Rodgers is gonna do what Aaron Rodgers

(14:06):
wants to do. He will tell you whatever you want
to hear. But Aaron Rodgers is in business for one dude,
and that's Aaron Rodgers. So Jets fans keep telling him
he's pretty, keep telling him how much you love him.
Go get them, Go get them. Aaron Rodgers Jerseys do
all that because he needs to. He needs to feel
loved and feel like the way he's doing things, like

(14:27):
when he hands the ball off to Breis Hall. Everyone
needs to be like did you see the style in
grace in which Aaron Rodgers re he he accepted the
spiracle ball from from that that that big center guy,
and then he turned gracefully like a gazelle and placed

(14:47):
it in the basket of Brest Hall. Brist Hall didn't
even need to run anymore. He was touched by the
hands of Rogers and he immediately teleported in the end zone.
Like let him think that's how he's great, because that's
gonna come down to.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
This is art. Look at this artiste. Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
None of that, none of those old school I'm trying
to think, who was I know, Steve Young throw the ball,
flick the booger and then I want to say, I
want to say it was like Peyton Manny used to
spin on the back of his hand and wipe, like
wipe the spin off on your hand of the ball off.
There was like like.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
None of that, none of that in this.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
It's like the gracefulness of Aaron Rodgers as he as
he makes that tiny pass to Breese Hall. Didn't he
hand it to him? He had shut up. It's whatever
he wants it to be, because that's, like I said,
if he does his gig. If he doesn't need to
be You're right, he doesn't need to be great, he
needs to be good. If he's good and he makes

(15:42):
that big throw and you need it, then no, look
pass when you need it. You're going a lot of
football games. But if he goes rogue as he's known
to do, none of this other stuff matters. But again,
I just like Brene Hall is getting a ton of pressure. Love.
It's good for him. Garret Wilson getting I love pressure,
big Keal on the defense. Good like these guys getting something.

(16:04):
Not enough talk about Aaron Rodgers. Everybody better start talking
about Aaron Rodgers because he gonna notice. You can give
you something to talk about. Start talking myraon Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
All I'm saying you can hear kickoff right here on
your home for the Jets in the Capitol region Fox
Sports ninety five, nine and nine eighty Monday, when the
Jets kick off their season againstant San Francisco, forty nine ers,
our coverage gets underway. It's six point fifteen. That's ready.
Two hour pregame. A lot of Aaron Rodgers talked before
then kickoff. A two hour pre game is scheduled right
now with an eight to fifteen kick. That means an

(16:34):
extended levaking. Guys, you have fifteen more minutes of us
on Monday on your home for the Jets.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Just not do that. Let's see what other people do.
Let's just like get like six interviews and replay them all.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
I mean, I thought about, know what, that's a different
station in the same time slot. Let's get a krusty
sports writer who writes for a newspaper and air that three.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Times I met earlier. But that's yeah, I'll take that.
I'll think whatever. I'll think it. I don't forget. Tomorrow
will be over, be over at mohawk. Yeahday tomorrow. But
tomorrow morning, I start my day not only with the
Sea four Ultimate Energy, but I started on Picks one
O six as I come in to talk to Quinn
and Canta about the Sea four Ultimate bank Roll Challenge,

(17:18):
where we all pick NFL teams and whoever picks the best,
whoever makes the best wagers shall keep the trophy from
the Seaford Challenge last year.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Are you gonna pick Cantara givens you here?

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Well, that's the that's the horses, oh, I said, keep
the Football bank World Challenge.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
That's you, Yeah, I have it.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Where belongs the four Ultimate Bank World Challenge trophy. You
just start to thank you to Awards by Walsh. You
start defending your trophy, your championship on Sunday when we
broadcast live from Rivers Casino eleven oh one, a lot
of Sundays on the way. We love that Sea four
is bringing us the Ultimate Challenge again. We love spor
I head of Sea four today. Ovac, you had some

(17:59):
Ultimate earlier this week. It gives you the boost that
you did. How many people had the first day school,
how many people's clocks got readjusted, how many college kids
had that eight am class that I don't know why
they signed up for. Get a C four and you today,
Lavac and Iron two, and it gives us that extra
boost that we need. The popsicle flavors are great. Stewart
Speedway the Ultimate. I use it as my my pre

(18:20):
workout for the gym, and I feel so great afterwards.
I don't feel like I need the gym. That's what
are you still doing? In English accent thing?

Speaker 3 (18:26):
I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know. I
just want to do the whole pix interview in that
voice tomorrow he.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Jim for the Back is here willing to tolerate you
peasants as I move fall to us another championship in
these evil Ultimate Bankroll Challenge.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
We would lose it first. Quitter Canterra you going four.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Minutes like what the hell are you doing? Like? Why
is this happening?

Speaker 3 (18:53):
You know what? I have a message for Kantara. Share
this with him tomorrow you watch you show up for
a cha dropping. I have children, I have things. Yeah,
are you busy? In the Martin tell can't tear of
this thanks to sea for our children. People like, oh,
my name is so much more busy. I have children me.
I like the Patriots. I like that number this week.
I think you should be encouraged by patriots. Who cares

(19:13):
about the patriots? I wanted to see if you who
cares what you like? You're the leader of hatriot nation.
I don't know if you could spill.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
That you know what I like more than my hate money?
If that's the bet, that's the beat. Okay, By the way,
you're that pickbot thing that we're in. Yeah, it's sent
out the stuff I want to pick. It's like you
must pick two college and two NFL and whatever. But
it's only letting you take college right now. I'll work
with that off the air, with your So I'm trying

(19:39):
to pick. I'm trying to win that too, all right,
trying to win everything I want. I need money I got,
I need a new boiler. I need to get I
need to you know, listen, I love me some C
four Ultimate Energy, you know. Gotta make sure I get
and get them whatever I want them, Speedway and Stewie's We've.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Got more on the way, I think. In our number
three sports radio, the Home of the Jets ninet.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
It's Lovak and guz on the voice of the Capitol
Regions sports Fan Fox Sports ninety five, nine and nine eighty.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Live in the GT Toys Studio.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
That's Toys the Z. I know, like the videos and
everything are hitting now because on my phone has been
blown up for a little bit because well the I
guess there's a chance at some point very soon the
press release comes out or starts to trickle through other
teams about what's going on. Yeah, like I said, it
will not, it will not tell you that we are

(20:32):
in the AFL that much. I can guarantee you. I
get I don't get the video. I don't get it's
because they're all teases like I don't It's not how
I would have done it, not how I would have
done it.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
But we're going I get I get the efforts, the
engagement to talk.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
I get it. I get it.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Uh you know what I also am getting a little
surprised by. Uh, let me ask you this question. I
think it might be an age thing here. Being named
to captain's a big deal, right like for the all
many Firebirds we're talking about the Firebirds. Do you remember
how that comes together? Is it it on by players?
This coaches sign it? Is it just accepted like professional
to college to high school? Being a captain for a

(21:06):
team is still a huge deal for modern athletes, right.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Oh yeah, for US coach of science.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Some of them.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
It's actually like even like part of the negotiation of
the signing. You know, like there's certain guys that when
you when you bring them in, you like they'll say
to you, I want to be a captain, or you'll
say to them, I'm not just bringing you in for
what you do on the field. I'm bringing you in
because I need you to lead this team. You know.
The the minimum pay is x I'll give you why

(21:35):
if you wear that sea because you need that leadership.
You need that person. Like I can tell a player,
you know, hey, don't do this, don't do that, don't
do this thing, Yes, sir, no problem, got you. And
then when they're out of there, who knows what they're doing.
But like in the past, when we've had you know,
Terius Prince and Brandon Ceesay and you know Nick Haig
and everybody walking to it and Dwayne Hollis walking to

(21:56):
a room and go hey stop it at stop.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yeah, I think that's a lot different because in high school,
a lot of times it's just the best players the captain.
It's fair if you've got a high school locally and
you got a kid who's a true leader, who can
be both vocal and lead by example. That's a rare
breed defined for a teenager. When you get to college,
there's a little mix between what you said there. There's
a mix between Sometimes the coaches say, hey, we college now,

(22:22):
especially with fifth and sixth and seventh year seniors, guys,
who do you think is going to be the captain?
This kid's been here for seven years. Of course he's
going to be the leader. If he's doing the right things.
Like I played on college teams where it was a
vote and then maybe a coach would add one or
two more. But the problem was with the vote. It
got real weird because you could tell guys were campaigning
for it and it's like, oh man, you don't act

(22:43):
like that, just you want to be This is weird.
But I bring that up because the age thing in particular,
teenager in high school to college kid and maybe still
being immature to campaigned for it. For We've seen two
rookie quarterbacks get named captain. Kayleb Williams has been the
captain of the Bears, and you just read that bow
Knicks has been named captain of the Denver Broncos. That's

(23:07):
remarkable to me.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
What about like bow Knicks, who most people didn't even
think would be a first round talent, who you know,
had to compete to get, you know, to get the
whiff of it. I think it's because he fits. He
It's got to be maturity, which is which is crazy
to talking about arookie, but what is he's a twenty
four to twenty five year old rookie. Yeah, like what
he's been through in his career, already and the fact

(23:31):
that he's on the same page as Chemp Payton obviously
like he could be Drew Brees, Like, if you if
you have faith and respect in what Champayton is, which
I know he's stretched a little bit by telling us
at Taysom Hill could be the next you know, Drew Brees,
like if if this is the right dude to run

(23:52):
the offense they and they can run the way he
ran that Saints offense. Bo Knicks is showing science at
LEAs in Champagne's eyes, of being the real deal.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
My hope for the product of the NFL and for
fan bases that are hungry to watch this happened in
Chicago and Denver definitely hungry national fan bases of care
abount their team that the class of twenty twenty four
is gonna feel far different than the draft class of
twenty twenty one. And I'll still group in twenty twenty two.
I think twenty twenty three still has a ways to
go before we can truly evaluate them. But twenty one

(24:25):
and twenty two, the COVID seasons of ooh, this year
was different. In twenty twenty one, We've got Wilson in
Fields and Trey Lance and Mac Jones and say what
you want about Trevor Lawrence and there's differing opinions, but
he did get a second contract and a ton of money.
That it feels like these twenty three, twenty four to
twenty five year olds no regular season games played yet,

(24:45):
but the fact that they're commanding that locker room and
guys are saying this is our leader feels like an
effect of COVID of whoa Like, this is not some
punk kid who came off the street. This is not
a twenty year old quarterback that some fan bases. That's
no disrespec back to Sam Darnold. But like he was
twenty when he got drafted by the Jets, Kyle Pitts
was twenty when he got picked by the Atlanta Falcons.

(25:07):
Of how different these teams are viewing this athletes and
even Kayla Williams they get Kayleb Williams was a transfer
from Oklahoma. He was the number one camp miss prospecting
in the country. Caleb Williams is also one of these
nineteen year old college seniors. He's got that weird fall
birthday where he actually was an eighteen going to nineteen
when he left Gonzaga High School, which is at of coaching.
McNamara reference Gonzaga High School when we were talking with

(25:29):
him about coach on Owaku coaching over there. So he's
got that interesting setting that I hope that Nicks and
Williams and all these young prospects and rookies are really good.
That's a great sign. It's not cliche. Not for AFC
West fans, that's true. I mean maybe not Michael Pennocks
junior either. At the South. I know he's a little

(25:49):
different spot because Cousins is there.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
If they named if they named him captain, Cousins would leave.
Cousins would demand to be trained and right do.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
You think so wouldn't give an ego? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
No, no, no, no, no, no no no. So I
signed with you big money to be your quarterback. Meantime
you go and trade up and you draft my replacement
who's an older rookie quarterback. So it's not like it's
not like you plan on sitting in for four years.
So you've already told me that I'm not gonna be
here for my full contract. If if your plans work now,

(26:23):
you name him a captain and if I'm not a
captain like you're just you're just telling you're cutting my
knees out, You're telling me I'm not your quarterback as
soon as you can, as soon as I throw a pick,
dudes in.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
I feel like that's really personality and personality. I know
what you're saying. Some quarters would be like, I'm in
the leadership position, and if you, as an organization don't
believe I'm a leader? What went wrong? What did we miss?
How was this not working? I don't understand what happened
here that you guys don't perceive me as a leader.
I sort of kind of get that a little bit.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
But you can't have two CEOs. There's one CEO that's guy.
So like when Kirk Cousins gets in that huddle, be
John Robinson, Drake London, Donald Moon, they all got to
look at him and go, that's the dog, that's that's
my QB. Not Oh, is this guy still out here?
When is our captain? When is our leader gonna get

(27:17):
to lead this offense?

Speaker 3 (27:20):
It feels like he already lost this job, but feels
like he's not the future. Why did he sign the contract?

Speaker 2 (27:24):
I didn't give the captaincy to a backup.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
You know why.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
I was probably like, you could give the captaincy to
Kirk cousins him get hurt, be the backup to Penix,
and then all of a sudden, he's still He's he's
orchestrating the offense through him. Like if bo Nicks were
to step back to the bench, he could still be
a captain and lead. But you can't be the starting
quarterback and have the backup quarterback have a captain see
on your chest? Okay?

Speaker 3 (27:47):
And all right, I think I understand that a little
bit better because in my mindset, I was like, okay,
you I've seen rosters before have a linebacker, cornerback, safety,
and running back. Like the quarterback doesn't always necessarily need
to be the captain.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
You would hope they would be.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
And maybe it's just because we were talking a lot
of firebirds today and I feel like I'm about start
unnecessary drama. But let's do it on a Wednesday. Can
you remember, Gosh, they're gonna you might get ticked at
me here for this. Was it Tommy Grady or Sam Caster?
I could have sworn one of the two Empire quarterbacks
wasn't a captain. And I'm not doing that to start drama.

(28:23):
I'm like, I don't know if it was Sam because
he was younger in his career and they had other
guys who played for the Empire before, or Tommy Grady
the same way. It doesn't seem like a big deal,
but I do remember I could have sworn a local
player wasn't a captain one year?

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Uh, Sam didn't start as well? Remember Sam didn't start
as starting star. Okay, he he when he got here,
we thought Mike Faifel was going to take the job.
And then Sam took the job, worked got better and
better and better, and ultimately was was the guy, Jake,

(28:56):
don't you think.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
It might have been Sam? That story makes a lot
more sense because why would Sam castroav was the backup quarterback,
be the captain of the team and then after Faithful
moved on, Sam may have been the quarterback, but you
don't take someone's captain spot away.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
If medlock wasn't a captain either, Oh okay, no, Sean
Lockett was Darius Sean Lockett, Trayvon Schwartz and Nick.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Hag look at that this season, all right, I started
drama for teams that didn't exist. It actually was the
Firebird roster this year. All right, well no, no, Just
like I said Castronova in he I think he got
the see later in this season because I remember there's
a couple. There was a couple that changed in the
twenty two season, but twenty one. Yeah, Grady, I mean, listen,
Tommy Grady didn't necessarily need to have the sea on

(29:41):
his jersey in twenty twenty one.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
He was. That was Tommy's team, Like that was if
you were on that teams because Tommy wanted't you there?
And he was he you know, he loved the way
h Dan Moore's offense worked, and he was like, guys,
come get some of this because it's gonna be fun. Now.
His relationship with Nots may have been a little different,
but wasn't.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
You know what I'm going back here? I thought it
was the jet conversation. Did you mention something about you
want me to write you about humor?

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Miss it? Was it?

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Do you want to do it in the dump? I mean,
and we can you want to do that? Let's forward.
You only told me to remember it and remember it
a half hour later.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
That's all right, at least still remembered it. And hopefully
you'll remember on time to be at Mohawks Chevrolet tomorrow
were they always go the way to please you guys.
It's just off back to twelve in the Northway, Mohawks Chevrolet.
Amazing showroom, great selection of vehicles, supplier pricing going on,
which gives you a chance to potentially save thousands of
dollars in the vehicles right there on the lot, ready
to go two day, Sedan's pickups, s uvs, EV's a

(30:40):
lot of electric wheels. I was talking to coach where
about EV's, uh, just yesterday. We're kind of seeing, like
which ones we liked, which we don't like, you know,
stuff like that. That Silverado is sweet looking. But it's
some great selection of vehicles, great group of people. We
talked about the dealership that who knows, maybe while you're
walking around there you could in an episode of the
dealership and become famous. It could happen.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
No, don't, because I want to be on twelve.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Us to make me back Mohawks Chevrolet together, let's drive
where they always go out of their way to please you. Girlfriend,
boyfriend drama, and then me confusing attractive female sports talk
people's it was I had a whole train wreck of
stuff going on in my head during the commercial little
while ago, God's brought it back. Let's see if we

(31:22):
can sort this thing out. It's coming up. Fox Sports Radio,
ninety five nine and nine eighty.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Now back to Levac and guzz on ninety five nine
and nine eighty AM. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Oh yeah, I'm for the dump.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Did you see the the rumors that are going on
between the New York Giants quarterback and miss Kay Adams.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
I sure did, And I'm curious if your taking my
take is far different on this. Well, what's all right?

Speaker 2 (31:49):
So she had Ilumina, the offensive lineman who was with
the Raiders last year, he's with the Giants this year.
He was on and she said, you know, you got
take care of your boy or maybe my boy depended
on what people are saying, and asked about his beard
and all this other stuff. So there's rumors out there

(32:09):
that Kay Adams is dating Dale Jones.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
I saw a clip and maybe I got cgi'ed, maybe
I got a eyed. I saw the end of that interview.
I could have sworn the clip that I saw. She said,
to close out the interview, make sure to take care
of my boyfriend. Yeah, but the way the whole interview
went that I can believe that was sarcasm. I can
believe because because again she's she's talking to him, they

(32:38):
talk about the beard. She literally she said that she
was talking about how how you know how much Luminar
has gotten better, so that she said, quote, you gotta
protect your boy, my boy.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
The world in internet thinks he's my boy. Then they
both started laughing, and then there's a point where she
asked about is he keep is Dale Joe's gonna keep
the beard? And she goes, I don't even want to
talk about it. I don't want to talk about it.
But then says Jermaine, So Jermaine and Luminar, a girl
can't win. I'm trying to hype your boy. I mean,

(33:12):
Daniel's a great looking guy. Well then Lumino said, Daniel's
a great looking guy. Is he keeping the beard? Like
it was almost like one of those things where she's
playing into and having fun with the fact that people
are saying they're dating, but she's saying they're not really dating.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
She did this as well with Cham's Charnia, like this
is kind of her thing, which, by the way, good
for her leaning into it. I think it's cool. Uh
I wait, wait, wait, I want to go back to
your original question. You asking your original question is what
you were asking about, did you I mean yeah, did
you see it? Do you care?

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Does it explain why he's on the show when he's
a completely boring interview.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
I believe this goes back to August when she got
stumbled over her words. Right, we're talking about like mid
August where like she interviewed her and it went viral
because somehow she stumbled over her work. It's talking to
Daniel Jones and people made fun of her. Here's what
I think happened. And I think you nailed it, going
back to being sarcastic. Kay Adams leans into this stuff
and she can do it.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
She's fine.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
But like that term boyfriend, you've done this to me.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
You're not my boyfriend. I don't care how many people
write it.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Gozz is not my boyfriend on the air, before you
would say, like Brittany mccatton who works out in Maine,
you would joke around and say, oh, your girlfriend over
at CDs six or Chet and Gardner or your boyfriend. Right,
Like that term to me is you and I just
giving each other grief. Like Tony Cornheiser and Michael wilbonm
were the kings of this you boy you girl like
that's just no no, but.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Like you like had like an over the top love
affair with all three of them.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
No, no, no, that's not it was.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
It was too much.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
The point I'm trying to make is like when someone says.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Your guy, you weren't really dating any of them, but
like it definitely it needed to be said. Somebody needed
to say it.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
Chick is another one. I feel like this is an
age thing where somebody older might be like, she just
called them her boyfriend. Of course they're dating. He just
said girlfriend, he said chick. Like even with females, they'll
say I'm going out with my girlfriends knowing like if
Lavac and I went out to Hooters and said we're
going out with our boyfriends, people would look at us
with wait, wait wait girlfriends like that terms. I think
it's an acceptance of the term like well, so.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
I would say go In second quote, Adams playfully wrapped
the conversation with go protect my boyfriend.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
So I said, I knew it wasn't cgi yeah, but
it was playful.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
It was like, you know, it was it was joking around.
It wasn't it wasn't you know, it wasn't Jordan your
wife saying to me, will you go take care of Thomas,
will you make sure he's all right? Like, that's not
what That's not what it was it was, you know.
That would be like you saying to me, going nice
to my girlfriend when I want to see Brittany or
whoever else.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
If Daniel Jones, which I don't think he is, but
if Daniel Jones is actually dating Kay Adams, I'm a
Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Good for you.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
You and I saw miss Kay Adams in person in Vegas.
There are certain people who are absolutely stunning in person.
She's on that list. She is one of the three
most stunning people I've ever seen a radio row.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Would you would your ego be able to handle dating
a woman who knows more about sports than it has
gone farther to the industry than you.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Oh gosh, it's got deep. Uh yeah, I could handle that.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
This is the holy grail, a beautiful woman to like sports.
I mean, how could you go wrong? But here's the problem.
She's a bigger star and she knows more.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
Ah, I don't know me name. We can we can
battle back and forth.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
She has more. There's way more people calling her with
insight than calling you.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
I feel like no one's calling Kay Adams to get
her take on what's coming up here, you know, but
she's getting scoops. Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
I think we're not getting those calls.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
I think she's more of a anchor host than a
reporter or an insigner or an analyst. That's what I
would say.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
About if I wanted to if I wanted to leak something,
or if I wanted you to know something. I'm calling
her before I call out.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Nothing says I'm not gonna be fine with this relationship.
Is me questioning how much you know? I think I
just answered your question without answering it. A lot of
guys say they want to have a wife, a fiance,
a girlfriend who they can talk sports with. I don't
think a lot of guys want it. I think they're lying.
My girl, my gosh, my wife. My wife, I would say,

(37:16):
is the perfect medium. She knows what's going on. She's
not calling baseball, football, she knows the sports, she finds
athletes she likes, she knows the rules, she's in it.
I think guys think they want to argue sports until
all of a sudden, No, they don't want to.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
They don't have a pokeson. I'm not I'll never I'll
never date a Red Sox fan. There's no way that
goes well. I barely like, like can say Denver those
like Chargers. They don't. There's not actually female Chargers fans
are okay because I mean they don't really care.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
I reference this skit a lot, but it's just like
niforms let me first got sweet though, I kind of uh,
I've referenced the skit a lot. I would watch it.
I'm sure it's on YouTube somewhere. Amy Schumer, the Pea
Audio Award winning show Inside Amy Schumer had a bit
where Amy Schumer is like, guys always say they want
their girl to be one of the guys, and then
Amy Schumer is one of the guys and how awful

(38:09):
it goes and how much they really don't watch it. Yeah,
it's true. It's it's still true even when that show
was out.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
The funny part about it, like people are sitting there,
I'm like, no, she's not, she's not dating him. She's
she's dating the comedian Dan Soder, which is Katie Nolan.
I completely in my head, Kay Adams and Katie Nolan
are the same person. In my head, they and they
and even seeing pictures of both of them, but I
still think they might be the same person.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
I hope you listening right now have made that mistake
like Lavact just did, because I after just moments ago
talk about some of the most stunning people I have
ever seen at radio Row. Katy Nolan on the list,
Katy Nolan. It's Katie Nolan, Kay Adams and Andy Agar.
That's the list. They are more beautiful in person.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
As much as I enjoy your company, your beautiful wife's company,
Boston Dan and Boston Daniel, I would I would go
find a girlfriend the double date Dan Soder and Katie Nolan.
That has got to be the greatest, Like because he'll
he'll talk about talking sports with her like kind of
like what you were saying, like do you want But
he's like, that's phenomenal. She come back tell me the

(39:13):
stuff I know, so she knows everything's going on with
my forty nine ers, like whatever. Like like I think
because he's hysterical and she's brilliant.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
You know what SODA's best friends is, right, Yeah, Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Oh well, well yeah, because they're both from they're both
from Denver and then middle.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
School buddies since the sixth grade. So triple date. Get
McDaniel and his wife on the date with you.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
I don't want that. That's too much. That'd be weird.
I'd have to smoke pot. I think I smoked the pot. No,
oh no, they're both from san France.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
I don't remember. He moved out to.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Yeah, and then and then following him with San fran
Then now he's now he knows stuff that's going to Miami.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
But like I heard a podcast, by the way, don't
be concerned. Why I knew where twelve year old Mike
McDaniel lived was Rich Rich Eyes and the Labatard. He's
been doing a lot of hits.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
Yeah, but well, actually matching my Shane gillis at the
same party, Soda and else. That's right, invite please be
living the dream right there. But that's like that whole thing.
It's you know, we start we're talking about this fake
relationship between Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift that's been scripted,
and we'll end on September twenty eighth, Allegedly now here. Listen,

(40:18):
why not get together? Let's go, Let's go, let's go,
Kay Adams, little dale Jones. You think dale Jones has
to play well for his chance to be with her.
I mean Sam Ponder is with Christian Ponder and he sucked.
That could be a all these all these attractive female
NFL reporters start just getting together with like the subpar
NFL quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
They'll become less good looking or they become more good looking.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Does that? Oh gosh, she's the phone just can't stop now.
Oh gosh.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
I was gonna do something else here in the dump,
but we've only got about five more mints left now.
I don't know what I wanted. You know what, I
will do what I did the dump today. Do you
remember dropping your daughter off the first day of school?
What do you remember the first day of school?

Speaker 2 (41:02):
It was? I think I was more upset than she was.
I think she was excited. I know, I know daycare.
She hated daycare. She wouldn't go to daycare. She was
just like, I don't have to be here, you don't
have to go to work. I'm gonna stay with you,
and cried. But school she got I was able to
hype her up and get her excited. But I was
I I think I like got out of work as
early as possible, like sat in the parking lot. Actually

(41:23):
shit after in kindergarten, so I drop her off, I'd
go to the gym, and I was just at the gym,
like almost crying on the elliptical.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Yesterday. Yesterday was fine because it didn't start last year.
It was tough, man, last year the first day of
daycare and first day of preschool stuff. Today's I got
two right. Today Today felt like a different, whole, different world,
Like all right, they kind of got the routine, they
got it down. I'm sure parents did kindergarten for the
first time tomorrow. For people who are doing that. College
started last week. Going through the first day of school, man,

(41:53):
I feel more nervous as a parent than I did
as a kid, Like when you were a kid. It
was awesome at least for me. Like I got a
new pair of sneakers for my first day of school.
I got all excited, like, yoh, check out this new
T shirt, check out this game. That's like you've had
the first day of school vibes of like getting seen
some kids in a while, new teacher's new classroom, new schedule.
Being a parent, man, it's way more stressful. Like I'm

(42:15):
sure the kindergarten and parents today were like, what bus
they're gonna go bus with fifth graders.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
When you're the kid, you have to worry about one kid.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
You.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
When you're the parent, you have to worry about every
kid because they may suck. Like if there's a bunch
of jerks in your kid's class, now, all of a sudden,
I gotta worry about thirty kids. Now. It's a whole
different thing.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
That thing you just said there sounds like what my
parents told me about driving For the first time. I'm
not worried about you as a driver. I'm worried about
who's on the road. I'm not worried about you as
a kid. I'm worried about who you're so cheat.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
I was thinking it reminded me of what a neighbor's
parent told me about raising a girl versus raising a boy.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Oh no, no, no, not now, not no, no, no, no,
We've got I want to stay on the air. We
got you can look that up. You worry about one? No, no,
I mean what do you want?

Speaker 2 (42:59):
I mean, how do you want to live. What do
you want to do? That's that's what that's what it is.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
I need to tell us about our friends at cdt A.
I'm gonna end the show early out of my own safety.
So I know you're busy. You've got a lot of things.
We're breaking two minutes earlier than usual. Tell us about
our friends at c d t A. Please, for as
long as there are our friends c d t A,

Speaker 2 (43:22):
They have over fifty roums connecting you to what matters
along with the CDPHP cycle. I mean, when you're driving
the CDPHP cycle, you I have to worry about all
of them, not just the one I'm on. Oh gosh,
featuring e bikes and drive electric car sharing program. C
d t A is what connects us with the mobility menu.

(43:43):

New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
