(00:22):
Ten headlines, most of them from the NFL, because well,
the NFL is king to get us start today, guys,
and I make the list. I make the rules. So
number ten the first story, we talk about the biggest
upset of the weekend. The eight and a half point
underdog Las Vegas Raiders go to Baltimore beat the Ravens
(00:47):
twenty six to twenty three. It is the first time
I think, in what like forty two attempts or some nonsense,
that the Raiders have trailed by ten points or more
in the third quarter or later and come back to
get a victory. The Raiders let everybody know we aint
we ain't gone, we ain't done. Only week two, kids,
we wanted one baby.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Forty nine forty nine games. That was that's absolutely incredible
to have that stet. The Raiders did it. The Raiders
got a ton u Goodbye to all survivor pools, including
my own see you later bye.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
How would you against my boys in a survivor pool?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Man, they were the.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Biggest dog and they stunk in week one, I mean
in stinking wing one, they were good. It's staying.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Some weird calls goodbye surviving, like fifty percent of survivor
people entries gone ravens not being zero and two since
what twenty fifteen gone see you later bye. And also
we all should have known this on Sunday when I
placed this bet there was beer involved. Yeah, it was
the first beer bet of twenty twenty four. You all
(01:50):
should have known better when I said yes. By the way,
I'm thinking about paint off that beer to you on Friday,
October fourth. I think that along with the orange roof
night you and LV Syracuse, maybe you and I would
go to the under or to the injury.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Okay, you drink the beer. You' already drag my.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Beer wrong with the microphone.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I gotta tell you even you know, I'm I'm not
a big fan of Gardner minshew, but those that the
late drives where the Raiders weren't running the ball very
well at all, and he just started slinging into DeVante Adams.
I was okay with that. This the show of Max
Krosby walking up to him after he turned the ball
over and saying, we got you. Get your stuff together.
(02:30):
We got you. I think the Raiders are gonna listen,
Raiders are gonna make some noise this year. They're at
least gonna be it. They're not gonna get an easy beat.
You better.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
You better.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Take your vitamins, say your prayers, all that when you
play the Raiders, baby, because they they come before you.
All right, So you went against my guys. I went
against your guys. One of the one of the things
I got wrong here at number nine. Go ahead, guys,
talk about your boys.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
We're gonna do the Raiders off the show. I'm glad
the Bucks are number two. You know what? Give me
power rankings on Tuesday. I can't wait for him because
I'm gonna tell you right now, depending on how today goes,
which I have a feeling how it's gonna go on
Monday Night football, I'm gonna tell you the best team
in the NFL is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, number one
on the list. There's a lot more to go in
(03:16):
the Kickstarter, but that's an impressive as a victory. Is
anybody through two weeks of the NFL you.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Really think they're the best team in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
On the road against Detroit. There's a lot of impostors
in the NFL right now, a lot of injuries are
going away, some of the top contenders. You know who's
number one of the Gods Power rankings, the Buccaneers. I'll
save that for Tuesday. That is the best team in
the NFL. You've been drinking. No, it feels great about it.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
They are not the best team in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
I'll save that for Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
At that take, Wow, Wow, Well I thought I was crazy,
all right. Number eight. The Packers beat the Colts sean deepense,
but thirty two carries for Josh Jacobs. Did have a bumble,
but they are able to over come that. But the
biggest bumble was Josh Myers the center throwing up on
the football right before the snap gets it back to Mileague.
(04:08):
Was Blie goes over to the sideline, Lafloor goes, why
did you throw the ball? Well, because Josh threw up
on it and I didn't want to throw it to someone.
What about Belik? Was he deserves to be a starting
quarterback in the league simply because he went my dog
threw up on this. I'm not gonna throw the puke
at somebody else. I'm gonna run to take a hit
to protect the team and my boys and testines.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Packer fan, if you have a fellow Packer fan, family member, friend, colleague,
whoever ever criticizes Matt Lafleur as the head coach, slapped them.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Slap.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
That's the best. That's the best thing going right now
is that little floor from backup quarterbacks to Hall of famers,
leaving to a young roster, to figuring out how you play.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
It's amazing.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
But Laflour is an awesome coach. That is disgusting, and
the Packers win that game. Is here a Colt fan?
If you are a Colt fan boy, there's some questions
about Anthony Richardson still, aren't there.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
There's a lot more questions than our answers, that is
for sure. The Colts Cults are a weird team, like
everybody ranked them a lot higher than I did. They
did put up a good fight against the Texans in
Week one. But if if Jordan loved not being on
the field, center with an upset Tommy Malie Willis beats you.
That's something and.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Why Jonathan Taylor doesn't get the football more? Was he
averaging nine yards of carry twelve carries for like one
hundred and ten yards.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, I mean that is one of the weirder stats
when you see that, when you realize the fact that
the Packers only threw the ball thirteen times, twelve of
those were received. However, they carry the ball fifty three times,
and here you are, You've only carried the ball eighteen times,
twelve of which were for Jonathan Taylor. He was averaging
(05:52):
eight point six yards eight carry. Anthony Richardson four carries
thirty seven yards. But yeah, no, something's not right there.
Something is not right When Josh Jacobs has over thirty
carries and your stud back has twelve, something's not right.
That's all there is too. Moving on to number seven,
both the Saints and the Cardinals scored over forty points.
(06:15):
The Saints beat the Cowboys. This is three straight weeks
you got back to last season where the States have
scored forty four or more points in the game. They
beat the Cowboys forty four to nineteen, and meanwhile, the
Cardinals against the Rams or whatever's left of the Rams.
I mean, even Cooper Cup got hurt in this game,
Like like I I pulled the hamstring watching the Rams play.
(06:35):
That's how how many people are hurt for the Rams
forty one to ten the Cardinals whoop up on the Rams.
Two teams with forty plus points.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Yet you think the Buccaneers are the best team in football.
I will stick with that tick that you have with
the Rams, that that's is not even the Rams team
at this point, this is not even the same roster.
You can only do so much with that. The mashimated. Yeah,
Arizona and James Connor. More so, James Connor the most
underrated running back, whe receiver, tight end in the NFL
in the past eight seasons. Remember, from the start of
(07:04):
his career in the NFL, like, ugh, Le'Veon Bell is
gonna turn it over to James Connor. All he's done
since then has been one of the best. Of course,
he gets sick in college, he was an All American
running back underrated his entire NFL career to the Saints, LEVAQ,
you and I loved New Orleans in twenty twenty three.
I only bring that back because a season too late
(07:25):
for the Saints. This was supposed to be the team
last season. Carr looks great, Kamara looks like he's got
a whole new running. I don't know what he did
in the off season. They found some recisi that Saint
team was supposed to be the Saint team last season.
They whooped up on Dallas. That was never a game.
You and I are watched that one at Rivers. Never
competitive Dallas in that matchup.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
I mean realistically saying that we thought Dallas would run
away with this game. We did not think the Saints
could do to them what they did a week ago.
But I mean they just went out and they made
the Cowboys look like the Panthers. They really did.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
You said cars back? Is car competing for comeback or MVP? Like?
Which would he be if he keeps this up?
Speaker 2 (08:12):
MVP? Wow, I'd put him third right now in the MVP?
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Could you put out of them?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Josh Allen would be at number one? Okay, Baker mayfields
at number two. Hard arg you with, Maybe I'd flipped
the two for the three, but he is Baker. But
just me saying Baker, you Saint Baker, me not throwing
something pointy at you should speak volumes to what's happening
with your team.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Man. So so we're not We're still not afraid of
the Cardinals. No, but we're getting nervous about the Saints. Yes, okay,
didn't somebody in this show picked the Saints to win
the South? No? I picked the Pompkins. That's right. I'm sorry. No,
I'm gonna.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Freaking with these quizzes.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
I'm here to help. I'm here to help, all right.
Number six, The Vikings beat the forty nine ers. This
forty nine ers didn't even look like the forty nine ers.
In this game, we found out, you know, day ago,
you weren't gonna have Christian McCaffrey. Jordan Mason still runs
for over one hundred yards, Rock Party throws for three
hundred yards. Yet you lose to Justin Jefferson, who gets
backed up in the game. Sam Donald twenty three seventeen.
(09:13):
The Vikings went it home.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
We knew the impact of losing McCaffrey in a shorts
flip around there for San Franisco from the Monday end
of the Sunday game, but back to back weeks, it
is the same storyline In Minnesota. Some of the throws
that Sam Donald makes great defense. I mean it's right
in the window, right in his hey hands, perfect throws.
This was the Sam Donald that tore up college football.
(09:36):
And he's nineteen and twenty years old at USC fans
remember like this was the can't miss sucked for Sam
there he is.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
It just took a while. No, you know what, it
took quarterback school in San Francisco. So like, if you're
we're gonna get this game in a little bit. If
you're Daniel Joes, you justske to be traded as a
backup to San Francisco. Did you just say, please send
me there, Let me be a backup for a while.
I'm gonna get this right somewhere.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Zach Wilson's like he sucked for the Jets. He's not
going to be very good for his second team. Give
me one more team and I'll go wherever you want.
I'll play this darnold thing. Kevin O'Connell, the head coach
for the Minnesota Vikings for the second consecutive week. Pass
the locker room going nuts. They're jamming out to many men.
The players love them. It's the environment, the Vikings. Man,
if you're a Viking fan. This is about as great
(10:20):
as they can get. Players love playing for your coach,
and you're putting up some huge games. Oh, by the way,
I'll give you what other compliments Viking fans. Right now,
sitting atop the leaderboard for rookie touchdown passes is JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Wait, JJ McCarthy hasn't played a game.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Sitting atop the leaderboard for rookie passing touchdowns is JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Are you saying that no rookie quarterback is throwing a
touchdown yet this year?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Shoot? Was that on the script that I didn't look? Sorry,
did I jump a gun?
Speaker 1 (10:48):
There? No, no, that I should probably look at the sheet.
But listen, I'm it's a miracle of time. The Raiders
beat there, came back from ten all right on the
number five Seahawks, Chargers Browns all win. But I have
to tell you I remember almost nothing from those three games.
May have been just boring football. I mean just I
(11:12):
saw them, I saw the scores, I saw the things
I don't The only thing I remember about the Seahawks
is that I had three and a half when we
did for the pat So I've been one and two
again in fantasy versus reality.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Jim Harbaugh is really good as that coach should be
in the conversation. Is one of these modern day Pete Carroll,
bear switzeron Jimmy Johnson is heard because they inherited those rosters.
But hard Boss in this discussion is one of the
best coaches in a generation for some sports fans because
what he's done in the past both the NFL and college.
The Seahawks are gonna be in the mix again for
the postseason. It looks like the Patriots played well in
(11:44):
that game. Trevor Lawrence hasn't won a games since Thanksgiving.
He's one of the highest paided quarterbacks in the league,
has a one of game since Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Do you think they scrubbed his name off the stadium?
I do. I will say this, Jake Dobbins, he looks
he looks completely reinvigorated with Harbaugh calling the plays. So
that's there's the one thing.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Would have been nice that they gave Gus Edwards a
touch for me, And that's kind of why I brought
it up.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yeah, you you were like, if I get beat by JK.
Dobbins and Bob blah blah blah, then so be it
so you're okay.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yeah, I got punched in the face. I said, I
take the punch of it happen. It is sore. It
is sore.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
JK. Dobbins seventeen carries I think thirty one yards on
a TD on the ground. Justin Herbert he ran a
dude over in the game, and they're all like, Harvall
is gonna love that, Like Harvall's gonna chastise the hell
out of him. You do not want to lose Justin Herbert. Ever,
even if you are a running team, stop your stuff.
Ah all right on a number four man. This game was.
(12:50):
It's weird. It was. It could have been boring with
something about It was really entertaining as the Steelers beat
the Broncos thirteen to six. I think the most entertaining
part of it is if you remember the quote from
Mike Tomlin about like he yells at the wall in
his basement. He doesn't yell in public. He yells Sean
Sean Payton needs a wall in his baby. He was
(13:10):
yelling everybody. He was just the power went out during
his part postcame press conference. Sean Payton had the worst
day and he was yelling at defensive players, offensive players.
Every he was screaming at the water boy.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
I loved the hate on Sean Payton. Oh, I loved it.
So arrogant, so oh, I can do anything with anybody,
And I don't know you can't walk me through it,
Sean Payton. And I don't know why my Twitter replies
still don't work. Seriously, I don't like that it's blocking
people from replying to my tweets. I don't know why
that's the way it is. But I saw Kyle and
Jonathan and others trying to come at and say, Eric,
(13:46):
explain it to me. What the hell was Sean Payton doing?
Walk me through from thirteen to three, from not going
to the touchdown to kicking the field goal to not
going for the onside kick to not using the time.
Walk me through it of football. Take me through your
time management and scenario there for the I really want
you to explain it to me like I'm a five
(14:07):
year old, because it was awful. Mister, I know everything
about football. Figured out Sean Payton. You stink you're.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
In angry elf.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
I loved it, Levaq. He was so arrogant. Since he's
shown up in Denver and he's batching how to manage
the clock at the end.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
My friend is a Broncos fan. She mesters me, please
stop picking the Broncos. I gotta be honest with you.
I thought it was a really good play Boe. Next
to it was that late interception. A couple of bad plays,
but you can see what he's building and it's not bad.
It's just the Steelers didn't make mistakes. They did what
they needed to do to win the game. And that
is why Mike tom was a great coach. I hate
(14:45):
saying that, Loudah.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
We had a different scottingport for the game. We were
both right Tomlin versus Nicks, and you said, TJ. Watt,
this is the denver O line. We were both right,
even though we came from from a different direction.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Yep, all right. On to number three. These these two teams,
I believe, maybe the best teams in the NFL, and
neither of the Buccaneers. The kids see Chiefs dook it
out with the Bengals win that thing by one. And
the Houston Texans against the Chicago Bears. This Bears team
is close, They're close, They're not bad. Houston gets it
(15:17):
done though they win by six, I needed six and
a half. I have yet to get a standalone game
right this year. Do you know what I said? Yes, Monday, Sunday,
Thursday night, Friday night, a standalone game. I have not
got one right yet.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Thank you to the hook on that one.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
For me, I had, you are I got thanks to
the Patriots, I've had right both weeks.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Right the Chiefs in the Texans. There are definitely two
different storylines for those teams though you look at what
has happened in back to back weeks with Kansas City,
they are a toe and a flag away from being
zero and two, while the Houston Texans, if you are
and I feel this way coming, I felt it from
the first week, they are what the Bengals are supposed
(16:02):
to be like. If you feel like the referees give Cincinnat,
excuse me, if you feel like the referees give Kansas
City every call. Joe Dibiassi out in Buffalo had this
stat denies over two million views that since twenty eighteen,
Patrick Mahomes has eighteen interceptions, the most of any quarterback
(16:22):
in the NFL that have been overruled by a penalty.
I want to send people to a riot that's a
that's a real stat. But but Houston can beat him.
Houston is like the underdog likable team, and Straut was
you want to talk about a great ball right here? Again,
he has the chance for an MVP. Yes, what a
you're gonna said?
Speaker 1 (16:41):
That stat could be comparable to Aaron Rodgers has forty
touchdown passes on free plays? Yes, like if Pat Mahomes
knows it's a free play, the penalties already been called. Yeah,
he shoulda throw the ball, you know what I mean?
So so that could be just if Pat Mahomes is smart,
just put that out.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
There, or the referees are cheating for the Chiefs. However,
your parlays set.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
What haven't you talk to me that I'm speaking logic?
You're not just spitting venom at the AFC West team's
not naming the Raiders. I want out. I'm leaving, all right.
I will uh. I think Caleb Williams is an arrogant
little little poop. I think he's did you see the
end of the game.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
C J.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Stroud goes to find him to talk to him, and
he just and I get it, he just lost. I
get it. But he just wants he wants nothing to
do with with Stroud's conversation. You can see it and
those flare jeans he wore there. Oh my god, CJ,
what are you doing? You're talking about CD Stroud's Outfred
Did he see what? Yeah? Both both of them were
dressed like this gruntal housewives that are had to pick
(17:42):
up their kid at school.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Nice I was, I was gonna go with Caleb Williams
is the Internet told me, showed it to the game
looking like a bisexual archaeologist.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Okay, okay, the Internet told me Jones, I knew it
was in there, going up all right on the number two.
The Giants loss gave me PTSD like as as the
team president of the Amni Firebirds who lost the championship,
(18:16):
I would say mainly because our kicker got hurt. Watching
that game, all I can think of is, why didn't
you bring it on the kicker? Even though we did
bring another kicker, it didn't matter. Graham Gano gets hurt.
He pulls his hamstring trying to tackle somebody, which is
a joke. The Giants then do something that only one
other team in the history of the NFL is done.
You set this stat So would you like to read
(18:36):
it or would you like me to give it?
Speaker 2 (18:37):
They scored three touchdowns, the other team didn't score a touchdown,
and they lost the game.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
The second NFL history to do that. Score three, give
up zero touchdowns and lose twenty one to eighteen. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Yeah, I someone is gonna have to explain this to
me at the professional level. I can get to college
or high school, but it's hard for me to understand
this in the prefer level. How the punter can't kick
extra points field goals again? But he just didn't.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
They just didn't. They gave they let him try one.
It wasn't good, and then they didn't do it anymore.
And then everyone asked Brian Dable about it, to which
I believe he answered, I don't know. I'm not a doctor.
Four times. Uh, this was the game plan three times,
and you know we we thought it was okay whatever.
(19:25):
Jordan ron On like went after him and he was like, Jordan,
I don't know, I'm not a doctor, damn it.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
And he was getting into it. Another reporter too, right, Uh,
I want to say it's Leonard who asked about his job.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Scar.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
We talk about that a little.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Later, we do. We definitely will be talking about that.
But number one on the kickstarter. The music's done, which
is good because I'm gonna tell you this and then
I want to talk more about it. Coming up. The
New York Jets win twenty four seventeen over the Titans.
They look a lot like the Jets. They're getting closer.
They got that w They got a big matchup coming
in next week. I will tell you that I feel
like that matchup is all but set and stone. How
(19:58):
that one's gonna end. The Jets looked.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Good, jay E Ts Jets, Jets, Jets, right here on
your home for Jets football.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
The Jets sounded good.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Jet fans. How's the blood pressure feeling? How's the heart feeling?
There were some moments weren't there. We're going to talk
about it. There were some moments that made win number
one stressful and gosh, NFL Twitter film guy is going
at Jets football because of a few moments in that game,
not just the offense but the defense as well. Did
you pick up on some of these things that happened
(20:33):
in a week two We want to share with you.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
That's all coming up next, But right now, that was
your kickstarter. It's brought to you by CDTA, the Capitol
District Transportation Authority. You know, I'm a big fan of
CDTA getting people safely where the need to be, helping people,
you know, keep jobs, transportation, all those things. They're just
they're there for you to get you where you have
to go and all the great things they do. You
(20:57):
can hop on board with ETA explore the Apple region
over fifty routes. I feel like it's a lot more.
I feel like way over fifty routes connecting you to
what matters. Along with the CDPHP cycle featuring e bikes,
enjoy those right now while the weather's been pretty much perfect.
The Drive Electric car sharing program, that's a big deal.
You gotta check that out. CDTA is what connects us
(21:21):
with a mobility menu to meet all of your needs.
They're always coming up with something new. They're always coming
with new solutions the problems that we may not have
realized we had, parking rides, more and more, they're doing
things to get us where we gotta go. Things you're
not even thinking about CDTA for you really really should
go to CDTA dot org check out all the amazing
(21:42):
options and cool things are going on, or just go
ahead and download the Navigator app and get connected today
with CDTA. Jets win, the Jets win, Let's talk about that.
What did you think of it? Is it a sign
of more wins to come? That's next, Levk guys, Fox
Sports Radio ninety five, nine, nine eighty.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
It's guys on the Voice of the Capitol Regions Sports Fan,
Fox Sports ninety five, nine and nine eighty.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
All right, two out of three ain't bad. That's what
I've been told. Two out of three New York teams winning.
That's not bad, right, I mean, it's pretty good. And well,
of course we will get into the Giants, what's going
on with them. There's there's definitely a lot of early
season panic. There's definitely some pump to break situation. Dare
(22:28):
I say, in honor of the man we're about to
talk about, maybe everybody needs to R E l a X.
This is this is Jets fan, this is your life. Okay.
This is just so we're clear. When you come up
short against San Francisco, it's the end of the world.
Aaron Rodgers is too old. It doesn't fit what we're doing.
(22:48):
Dthaniel Hackett is crap. The defense doesn't have it. Robert
sala is the wrong guided coach. When you win twenty
four to seventeen over a Titans team that you should
have beat by a touchdown maybe more. Oh my god,
Aaron Rodgers is a brilliant, brilliant human being. How did
we get so far without him? It's amazing They were
smart enough to pair him with his friend Nathaniel Hackett.
Robert saala is gonna figure this thing out. The defense
looked better and better. That's that all you you will.
(23:11):
There will be no mid ground you have. This is
where you live. This is where you live this year.
So let's let's talk about Let's talk about the good.
We did a whole week on the bad because they
fell to the Niners, which is you know, Niners living.
Losing to Minnesota. That doesn't That doesn't help, But beating
the Titans does help. Titans are a well coached team.
(23:34):
Will Levis, it's what it's weird. Maybe you maybe you
can back this because just saying his name out loud
made me think this, like that's your quarterback? Like is
that like he's not you don't hear that name and go, okay,
you solved that problem, right.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Will Levis is Jameis Winston light. He is like.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
We'll say Jamis Winston white is He's not a light.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
With an L not you know what, both do work
in this scenario. HEALTI work in then scenario because he's
a gunslinger. He's throwing the football. One play he's gonna
have a perfect sixty yard pass on the money. The
next play he's gonna miss a wide open receiver. The
next play's gonna throw a pick six that's terrible. The
next play he's gonna look like Brett Favre. He is
an experience. They called the Genus Winston experience. Will Levis
(24:18):
is an experience. So Titan fans that team's not very good,
and also Jet fan I think we have to admit
there were some plays, especially in the final drive with
under a minute ago, Levis had an open receiver in
the end zone, just didn't throw them the ball. There's
a play with about the forty five fifty second mark
where if that's another quarterback, that's a tie game. But
Will Lewis is doing will Levis things out there.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
But I also the defense played better, yes, and they
made they made him second guess himself in certain places
like remember trying to be positive yeah, but again the
Will Lewis things. Just like you said, there's there's teams
you look at and you go, right, Josh Allen, that's
your quarterback. You're good, Sam Donald. I mean I kind
(24:59):
of I want to see where this goes, you know
what I mean? Like you may have your answer at quarterback,
whether it Jji McCarthy or not Will Levis. Huh, I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
No one was that very good?
Speaker 2 (25:13):
All right, I'll give you another positive. How about another positive?
Exactly Will Levis? They like, ooh, that's what we're gonna
brag about in public.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Huh huh, that's who we're taking a problem.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Alan the running back from Wisconsin, Braylan Allen, the young
al in the NFL, not only just the youngest player
in the NFL, but became the youngest player to score
a touchdown since the merger. I've seen a staff thrown
around since nineteen thirty four. Yes, you know who was
covering that game in nineteen thirty four? Who Roger Wile?
(25:42):
You could waited all weekend for that all week could Oh.
I was always doing those jokes.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
But I will tell you that I will say this,
that dude didn't score two, That's right, you did?
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Whoever that was three legging Jones back in nineteen thirty four,
pack saw Reynolds.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Whoever he was, Stumpy McGillicuddy, what a great running back,
No feet ran.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
With no feat, no fet Fitzgerald. Do you remember him
back at nineteen thirty four. He's psight to see h
Alan bresee Hall Fans, fantasy owners, relax, I know it, stayings.
It's awful, but the Jet team than real life football.
He is a great player to have and he's got
a great future ahead of him. He was an impact
in that game, for sure. There's the possive if you've
got a young running back who can make plays. You
(26:23):
mentioned the defense far improved Will McDonald Will McDonald fourth,
by the way, I believe he's got the fourth on there.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Please.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
There was talks that maybe he was just a pass rusher,
that he was just a guy who get after the
quarterback withd struggle against the run. Felt like a more
balanced game for McDonald, And I know the sacks help
when you have a take like that, but it actually
seems like he's gotten better in one season, a lot
more positivity. It's a lot better than Joe the security
guard at Rivers screaming fire everybody when we were leaving.
(26:52):
I think Joe's, along with Jet fans, have not found
that medium. Like you're talking the Backet's either gonna be
all or nothing all season, but improved for sure.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
And week two, I feel like I feel like Joe's
It's gonna take a little more than one win for
Joe to come off a let. Joe's firmly planted out
there at this point and I and listen, I get it,
I understand it. It's you know, I'm a Raider fan,
been through my share. I will before we get deep
into what what the Jets did. I do think that
(27:23):
it's important to acknowledge the creativity of Brian Callahan because
the the you even said that, we're sitting there watching,
we're jumping around or doing whatever. Goss over me goes
tell you to score a touchdown, Ask me how they
did it? Rushing play Calvin Ridley like like it was
(27:43):
like you know, he he used. I didn't quite get
why they went and got Calvin Ridley. I'm like, okay,
you've got you've got a potential top receiver who has
had motivation issues in the past and and other weird things.
Weird here for him in Jacksonville. Who's throwing the ball? Like,
who's like, how are you going to keep him motivate? Oh?
(28:05):
You're gonna keep him motivated by going kind of like
the O all Day with Cordrell Patterson. All Right, I
got a guy who's maybe the best weapon on the field.
How do I give him the ball him? I'll throw
it to him. I'll hand it to him their best player. Yeah,
so I did like all that. I think the Titans
might have the right guy. I just don't think he
is the right I don't know he he needs his guys,
(28:27):
So if they give him time to do that. And
I forgot his dad was on the staff, and I
hate his dad. So dad, change the calls. Okay, I
mean your boss is now coaching the Buccaneers of the
Super Bowl. Change the calls. Don't run the same calls,
all right? Which, actually, somehow I'm going to use that
to go to what I was gonna talk about next.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Oh gosh, let's see this segue, all right, transit you.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
See all the breakdowns of what I'm gonna call the
offensive game plan for the Jets.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Are you talking on social media of the film People.
The algorithm was cracked for the chantsy yes.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Yeah, Nathalie Hackett is not your oc euroc is wearing
number eight and he's under center. Aaron Rodgers the the
a malecho he was. He broke it down. He called
James Jones, you used to be a wide receiver for
for the packers and whatever. And there's a point where
Rogers gets a hold of somebody looks like he's looking
(29:24):
a fly. Okay, you're on a fly rout because he
looks like he's pulling a fly off his shirt. Okay,
you're on it out, You're on this. He's he breaks
He tells everyone what they're doing, post huddle, complete audible
changes every route, literally reaches behind his back and points
to the right to let Braylan Allen know where he's going,
(29:46):
Like it was the tale. Hacket should give his paycheck
to Aaron Rodgers, Like, if this breakdown is true, he
should give his paycheck. Now here's the problem, though, because
if that's real and it worked perfect, it was great.
At what point does ever there's somebody like instead of
(30:07):
an actual spy, where it's like the guys just supposed
to watch the quarterback, go to the quarterback Like Mike
Vick needed a spy. You need a fast safety or
middle linebacker who his whole job was just to watch
Vic and not let him run around. When you just
buy Rogers like, oh he's doing a fly then that
guy's on a flyer out, He's he's doing that thing.
It's like, if that's real. At some point, someone's gonna
know what they all are.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Right, that's a lot of the clues they let go
on social media this week they are snooping and they're
figuring it out and they're snitching.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Uh, but there is a compleence Rogers then and then football,
I feel like, is one of the highest sports to
do this. All right now stop it? Yeah, you know
the play Aaron Rodgers, right, And I don't mind because
I know how good I am at this. Also, I've
accepted now and maybe my life will change in a
few years, hopefully when I'm coaching my sons in sports.
I know this is an opportunity to where if I
was an offensive coordinator, my ego couldn't handle that. I
(30:58):
couldn't rather, right, I call have a little faith in me.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
There's certain scenarios and certain coverage of stuff changes. There's variables.
It's sports, it's football, but there's got to be a
frustration level you Actually.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
You've handled this away back in the day. No matter
how many times I told a young er guys, don't
take a title. You ran down the hall, you begged
to be the program director. The boss at the time
told you myself and Roger Windland would not listen to
whatever you had to say. Did you still want it?
And you were like yes? And you know you, we
(31:33):
humored you whenever you said what you wanted to say,
but then we did whatever we wanted and you were
okay with it because we were winning.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
I think you left out in important details that I
was told I was gonna be paid more money with
that title.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yeah, you knew better. I mean, that's that's that's your
own that's your own fault. You should have known better
on that one.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
But what I'm saying you got.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
It's one of those things where like for the greater good, Okay,
that guy knows what he's doing, let him go. But
that's the only reason that Hackett is here is because
the only reason this day Hackett ever got a head
coaching job is because people thought Roger would follow in
a Denver So, yeah, you know what, you can cry
about your ego all you want. You don't pay the bills,
and you're gonna be unemployed if if you don't, if
you don't do.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
What you're told changed by play along, it's the good play.
If it's a bad play, you better own it.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
Yeah. Every one of his place is named after Austin
Powers Golden Member character. Like it's like, oh, it's cute.
There's he's in a he's in a corner of Kran's
drawing plays. Everybody's like, oh, look at Buddy Hackett. No,
I do think it's funny, though, Like a week ago
there were people going he's like you may have actually
just kind of passed Rogers by. He's a little older,
(32:39):
he doesn't look very mobile at all anymore. But and
now it's like everybody like, oh my god, do you
see what he did here off his back foot? Oh?
Do you see what he did here? Off? Is? This
is it? It's it's amazing. I mean, I'm absolutely amazing
how he went from possibly washed up two could still
(32:59):
be the greatest, Like maybe it maybe even more than that.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
In one week, and we said this going into the
Week two matchup, there's a path for the Jets to
be four and one. I would say that path is
run into a big roadblock now because that four and
one had Minnesota in Week five and Minnesota shocked everybody.
But the next two games is gonna feel just like
the Titan game. You get a Patriot team that's young
and inexperience, with a new head coach and a quarterback
(33:24):
that's super young, well like a veteran now, I'll put
Jacoby Prissett as a veteran. And then you get the
Broncos thatad of a young quarterback that's learning his way.
This is a nice setup for the Gets. They look
good right now.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Next week, I don't even know. I know nothing about
the game. I haven't looked at spreads or anything. I see.
If there's early spread, the Jets are favored many.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Let me guess the game's in New York. That's a
divisional game. Yeah, thank you for that new jersey. Before
some angrily emails that's it. I feel like it should
be three and a half, but gosh, you know, I'll
go with three and a half.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Three and a half is my guest six and a half.
And you know what, Jets, because here, here's here's the thing,
Here's here's here's the deal. The Pats are doing a
very very good job, even though they lost this week
of try to win the turnover battle, score as much
(34:18):
the count on offense. But don't don't stress anything, don't
don't risk the ball, play great defense, play with special teams.
That's it. That's all they're doing. Guess what the Jets
defense is gonna do to Jacoby Brissett and Ramondo Steveson.
You may never see them again. You may never see
them again. Drake mag get ready because you may have
to get in this game. The Jets are gonna win
this game by two touchdowns, double digits.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
I don't think we said this. That is Thursday, Yeah, Thursday.
That game is Thursday. So you can hear that action
right here on your home for Jets football Fox Sports
ninety five, nine to nine eighty. Our coverage we will
begin at six fifteen, six fifteen our pre game show.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Again.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
You and I are gonna be live at the Hideaway
on Thursday. The Ronald McDonald Golf Charity Tournament's gonna be
an awesome time. Carenist the hideaway. How about that a
Jets game with our friend and Chad, who's a big
Jets fan. Great time to spend.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
Maybe he'll blow us off again.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
We saw him yeah Friday, Yeah, quickly wave. Then he said,
I had a lot of excuses, all of a sudden,
a lot of excuses. I gotta go Kenyon Garten and
this and.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Then man, wait, so we're there this Thursday, This Thursday,
all right, all right, I'm excited about that. Well because
again the food is amazing and everything else, so just
all good either way. I think the Jets will run
rough shot through the Pats as much, and I do.
I think the Pats are on the right course, but
like they're not. The talent's not there yet, especially on
(35:37):
the offensive side of the ball. The talent's not there yet.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Your confidence and you being too an oh wagered on
Patriot games right now, and the fact that I was
off by three points, which doesn't sound like a lot,
but in the NFL that's actually I was off by
a lot on that has me thinking a certain way.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Well, here's the problem. Stand alone game. How have I
done on a standalone game so far this year?
Speaker 2 (35:57):
You are an over right now and stand alone games.
And I'm not an over because I had the hook
last night for the Bears.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yeah, uh yeah, it's but but I'm confident. You know,
you gotta keep going. I mean, we had a tutorial
from some older gentlemen at Rivers yesterday on how to wage.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yeah, how's he doing, by the way today, I don't.
I don't think he did that great.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
I don't think he did great at all. No. I
just I think that you're this, This Jets offense is
gonna look a little better each week. This is what
I think now a little better each week. And then
the defense, it's I'm shocked they don't look better already,
but I think it's one of those. I My biggest
concern when it comes to the Jets is the coaching.
(36:39):
And because I already told you, like, there's there's no
way anybody looks at Nathaniel Hackett and goes, that's the
guy who's gonna call the best plays on the field,
because number eight is Aaron Rodgers is calling your plays.
But the defense, when it comes to you know, that's
that's what Robert sala is known for. His defense. Like,
I almost feel like they're still worried about offense. I
(37:01):
feel like every time i've we've we've seen this Jets
team hit a rough patch under Robert Salah. The defense
concerns themselves with what the offense is doing. And and
you know, as somebody who you know played at college
and all that stuff, you know that's it's hard not
to do that. But the best teams, the defense does
(37:22):
not care like it just it's it's listen, of course,
we're rooting for you. We we love you. Good luck.
Oh you score all the points. But I gotta do
I gotta my job doesn't change. I have to stop
that other team. And the teams that look like that
are the teams like you. One of my favors. I
actually just shared it on X Max Crosby getting a
(37:43):
hold of Gardner Minshew after the turnover going I got you,
We've got you. Don't don't dwell on it. That kind
of stuff is fine, but Max Crosby is your overall
leader of the team. Something worries me that the defense
kind of gets in their feelings when they watch the
offense not play well.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Too many egos on the defense, You're thinking too much competition,
too much of credit. Like maybe they feel like they're
underappreciated because of the Rodgers coverage. There's I think different
answers for different players.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
I just think they've seen what happens, right, Like, so
if you go go back to last year, four plays in,
you lose Aaron Rodgers, you're done for the year. Some
people said, well, the defense can still carry us through
as long as Zach Wilson don't turned the ball over.
You've seen it like almost three years in a row.
I feel like where that defense has at some point
commented publicly on the offense or you've seen them react
(38:31):
to the offense, and it's just it doesn't Again, the
best defenses, that Baltimore Ravens defense with Ray Lewis, I
don't even think they knew who Trent Dilfer was. They
couldn't picked him out of a lineup, like you know
what I mean. Like the Bears defense. The only reason
they knew who McMahon was back in eighty six is
they probably at the bar with him. That's like, the
best defenses don't concern themselves with the offense. They they
(38:54):
don't even know what Sometimes they don't even know who
the score is. Coordinator calls to play the leader of
the linebacker. Whoever, Like, what are we doing? All right,
let's go, let's go get him. Like defenses eat regardless
of what's being served by the offense, This defense is
very concerned with the offense. If they can stop that,
they might actually make a real role run.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Come join us Thursday Live from the Hideaway and Sarah
Siga for all that act. You can watch it with us,
enjoy it. We're always having a great time there the
Bloody marys. It might be a little in the evening,
but La Maack and I might have to it's been
too long. It's been a year plus it's had nice
bloody Mary. When I drive up to the highway, I'm
gonna be driving to my CRV thanks to mohawk. Uh
So the Apples was the Odyssey this weekend. Okay, the
(39:33):
Odyssey had the Apples in it. I don't have my
CRV right now, though my dad does. My dad's in town.
The wife's got the after school baby appointment, so he's
grabbing his grandsons from daycare and preschool today, so he
could be driving around anywhere right now in the Capitol.
I assume he's listening to us right now. So if
they're in the car. Shout out to Rex and West
and Pah love the ride, the CRV, the Odyssey, the Pilot.
(39:55):
Maybe your family's getting continuing to grow here in the fall.
Mohawk kind of wants U a ride that you're gonna
trust and give to your mom and dad or grandparents
to drive around the capital regionally. Trust them with it.
They don't have to worry about breaking down, or how
do you turn this on? Why isn't this door open?
Why does it smell? Those are questions I say about
my old vehicle. Mohawkans made sure that's not my future now.
(40:16):
Mohawk Kanda, We're gonna be there again in October. Make
sure to support those great people and they always go
out of their way to please you.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
I absolutely love our friends over at Mohawk Honda. Here.
Here's here's the deal. So many teams that I care
about are gonna be neating quarterbacks. I one, I've been
another red flag about a dude that I think guys
is set on. I'm not. I'm gonna find out for sure.
(40:44):
How how much does Guy's like a certain quarterback? And
is this latest red flag a sign that would keep
him from going top one two three, maybe the top
four or five quarterback that's next. Fox Sports Radio ninety
five nine to ninet eighty.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
It's love aking guys on the Voice of the Capitol
Regions Sports Fan, Fox Sports ninety five, nine and nine eighty.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
It's a weird weekend for football and everything. For me
that like, I keep forgetting it's Falcons Eagles tonight. I
just keep forgetting in Monday Night football. Well, of course
we'll have more of that coming up for you. I'm
sure play the day. We'll have a little a little
Monday night football field to it, and we'll we'll talk
Falcons Eagles coming up. So if if you were an
(41:27):
NFL scout for a team that needed a quarterback, and
they're gonna i mean, listen the way things look with
the Giant schedule, they're probably gonna be picking the top three,
top four, maybe top five, And again we'll get into
that coming up. You know, that's a team. Obviously, I
look at my Raiders with with Gardner Minshew and named O'Connell.
(41:48):
I'm a big supporter of Aidan O'Connell. Gardner Mitshew had
a great game. But still like there's a lot of
teams out there that are gonna be fighting for those
those top quarterbacks. I know that you keep mentioning a
certain name atop the board, like the number one overall pick,
and that is the Colorado Buffer. Buffalo's quarterback Shadore Sanders.
Is Shoudoor Sanders the number one overall pick.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Right now? If we are doing a mock draft, yes,
that can change its close. Specks up there from Georgia.
Cam Ward's putting it on for Miami. Yours just got hurt.
But if you told me Dart Jackson, Dart's putting up
some huge I would put Sanders the number one right now, Yes,
they would.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
Would you want him to replace Baker Mayfield in Tampa Bay?
Let's say no, No, No, this year, Baker says after this,
I'm leaving. I'm hanging it up. You need a quarterback
next year? No, I don't want Baker to hang it up. No,
Please know what I'm saying. You have no choice. Baker's out.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
I have to pick one quarterback out of this year's
class that I said, Okay, I have to put my
money on him. Who would I put up? Is that
where you're asking you.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
Can do that for your team that you're gonna have
to roof for it for the next ten years. Oh god, uh,
you've been through Jameis Winston.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
I would probably lean towards Quinn yours, but I'm a
little hesitant on that just because he just got hurt.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
I don't think Sanders has a good enough arm is him.
But the problem with yours is that yours wasn't good
at Ohio State. I would say arm talent wise, yours
is better attitude wise. I think I know where you're
going with to set up here. I see what you're up.
Go go ahead and give the information. I see what
you're doing here to me right now.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
So the rumors, the rumors a week ago, like instead
of playing the Colorado fight song when Schador scores, you're
supposed to play his song, the song he wrote, and
Deon Sanders has said, that's a lie, that's not real.
That's not the case. But what is definitely not a lie,
and what is one hundred percent of the case is
that Shador Sanders is very flashy on Instagram. He's gonna,
(43:50):
he's his brand is very flashy. Was I don't want
to say mocked, but the quarterback for Colorado State Brayden
Fowler Nickeolosi. He did the whole watch thing on Instagram,
so the game's over. Buffalo's beat the Rams twenty eight
(44:11):
to nine. Fowler Nicolosi goes up to Shador Sanders to
shake his hands, yet Sanders says, no, no, no, no,
you were talking doo doo on Instagram, talking on Instagram.
We handled our business. You can't bleep with me. You
can't won't shake the other quarterback's hand. You won, dude,
(44:34):
that's the perfect I one hundred percent think you should
have went you were talking crap and then shake it,
shook his hand. But I think it's if I if
I'm basing my career in the next ten years of
a franchise on a quarterback, how many red flags do
I need from this kid before I don't want to
take him.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
He's so talented. Why I hate my take. I can't
even give it yet and already can't stand it because
I no, you have there's audio evidence of me doing this,
saying I love Johnny Manziel, I love Johnny football, the
whole money thing, running around partying. I was a Johnny
Manziel fan, So I can't have Johnny Manzel love. I
(45:15):
love Joe Burrow smoking the big fat cigar after Vickery's
I've smoke boy. But people don't realize about this. The
Burrow things he smoked two cigars in his entire life.
Three three Bengals get to the super Bowl National Championship
for LSU, and I think the SEC title. He always
tells me, I never spoke cigars before, but it looked cool, dude.
I'm like, man, I could be like Joe Burrow, only
smoking for a huge events in your love. So if
(45:36):
I love Joe Burrow, I'm a fan of Johnny Manziel
and my Buccaneers quarterback is currently Baker Mayfield, who's plating
flags in college and plays and showing off. And I
think he refused to shake Houston's hand in college. So me,
guys can't come out here and say I'm a fan
of Baker Mayfield, Johnny Manzell and Joe Burrow and watching
(46:00):
Shador Sanders doesn't be like, oh that's not I can't.
I can't be that much of a hypocrite. I've gone
three deep with arrogant quarterbacks in college who might be
for who were first round draft picks. I thought the
thing was punky by Sanders. That's the second week in
a row. Remember he did the same thing similar against
Nebraska where he's like, we're gonna we're gonna scrape you guys.
You guys about to get wrecked by us, and Nebraska
(46:22):
had him running for his life. Yep, is it a
red flag? That was the question you asked. Yes, not
red flags that would move him down your draft for Yes,
there are gonna be some teams who saw that and
we're like, we're good, we don't need that.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
Now. Let's let's remember something too. There is a major
difference between those three quarterbacks and this quarterback. Don't make
me answer that question too, don't know. Don't those three
quarterbacks won before they act like jerks? Okay, and I
hate it all? Okay, that was what I hope you're
gonna say, Well, oh, you hate him because he's black.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
That's not what. No, no, no, no, there's a there's
a racial fact.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
No, obviously, I know that's not. That's not that's at
least that's not your motive.
Speaker 2 (47:02):
No, it's not. I know that the media perceives it
sometimes is a race thing, which is starting in a
culture thing.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
Like it's what like I good sportsmanship does not need
to be culturally biased. Like it's again, he did the
rollie thing that you do on Instagram. Okay, whatever, you
still you mock him for it, and then you shake
his hand and then you go, good, good luck in
your next game. You don't mean good luck in your
(47:30):
next game. What you really mean is bleep you. You
can't bleep with me, but you say the right thing.
You're a leader, like, that's what leaders do.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
And for those who get uncomfortable the race conversation that
just happened there, put yourself in this scenario. I can't
speak for what you think. But Josh Allen was voted
the best trash talker in the NFL, the best, the
most Josh Allen's chirp and loved it and braced it.
So if you're a Josh Allen fan, you're like, hey,
my god's the biggest trash talker.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
Do you like when Cam Newton did the Superman stuff?
That's trash talk? Well that's that's why is it different?
Why is it different? It's literally the same style of quarterback, right,
But is that well, the plays into it.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
But again, and you the reason that I can joke
about it. The reason you can. It's not a motivator. No,
like I don't like I've been. I'm I'm so hard
up for the Raiders to win that the quarterback. I'm
just I just I don't want a jerk. I don't
(48:31):
want to root for a jerk. That's the only thing
I don't want. I just I'm not in the mood
I'm trying to think, like, yeah, give me, give me
an Ohio State quarterback. That's that's what it's like. That's
how bad I want to win. The only the only
two teams in the world that I truly hate are
the Boston Red Sox and the Ohio State buck Eyes.
(48:53):
Like I dislike Kansas City, but it's hard because they're
so likable. I dislike everybody in the AFC West. But
like what a like when you who's who do you hate?
In baseball? Red Socks? Who do you int? College football?
Buck Eyes? Like those those are that's hate? Like it's hate.
If you told me I could get like colmic Cord
for Syracuse if he was picked by the Raiders next year,
(49:17):
there would be a there would be a moment of me,
was he in Syracuse long enough to wash off the
Ohio State poop like but but I'll take but if
that means we win, I'll take it. I'll take it.
I just don't want a jerk. I just don't want one.
I don't I don't want to. And I think he's
a jerk. And I don't think like every quarterback's gotta
be a little selfish because if you're not, you're probably
(49:37):
not gonna be able to handle it. But this guy's
all about him. He's he's his father personified.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
He might have more hype than his dad because of
social media now, because of the top, because you know,
his dad set the toe. I'm sure that takes on
Dion Sanders a little out of my You followed him,
you're a little older than me. The Dion stuff might
have been the first athlete of figuring out marketing nicknames
in primetime and all that stuff. And let's be real,
I'm sure race played a factor in how a lot
(50:05):
of white fans viewed Dion Sanders because he was who
he was and doing everything that he was. Look at me,
look at me. I'm this. I think I'll use Cam
Newton something said, sometimes white America gets afraid of a
confident black man. And Deon Sanders is one of I
believe Dion might have said that at one point. So yeah,
I think there's a lot of father factors in this.
(50:26):
I think there's a lot of race factors, not from
you and I, but we're addressing the elephant in the
room of what that is. Should or Standers would be
the number one pick to me right now on September sixteenth,
he'd be the number one pick in the NFL. Jeft
is that gonna stay in September thirtieth October twenty eighth.
Maybe it can change, but right now how college football
is laid out. If I had the number one pick
and telling me to take a quarterback, I'm taking Sanders,
(50:49):
all right.
Speaker 1 (50:49):
So I thought it was just the Royer thing. So
he said, just send me the quote here. This is
this is exactly what the Colorado State quarterback said about
last year's game. They came out with that attitude and
thought it was going to be a cake walk. They
saw the reports that it was a twenty seven and
a half points they got a rude, rude awakening real quick.
(51:12):
I think it goes to show the hype, the media
train all that only gets you so far at the
end of the day, you have to line up eleven
guys against our eleven guys, and we'll find out who
wants it more. We'll see how far Instagram followers get that.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
That's a pretty good trash dug though, But that's a
pretty good trash stuck.
Speaker 1 (51:33):
But it's not enough for me not to shake your hands.
Speaker 2 (51:36):
Oh no, no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (51:37):
But you know, actually that's that's way better than the
rolex ting because again you they did they they didn't
even pay mine to them last year. I remember that
I was that was funny to me. And I have
a personal issue with Deon Sanders. I have. It goes
back to my childhood. All right, it's not I don't care.
I don't care about him. I actually I wish I
(51:57):
didn't have to pay attention on he got me twice
in life? Can we just can we just bring up
that he got me twice? He got me as a
kid with the autograph thing with my mom and then
when he was ready to come out of retirement to
join the Raiders and ended up on the Ravens. That
was twice he got me. That jerk could have used
his help. See how bad I want to win? I
was ready to take the genuine article, not just the
(52:20):
kid who hasn't done it yet, who's still who acts
like he is born on third and actually hit a triple?
Is he that good? I don't. I think he's gifted athletically,
but I just don't. I'm not. I need a little sportsmanship,
I need a little leadership. I need a little more.
Then I got a roll in. I'm gonna take a
pay cut to play for your team after I get
(52:40):
out of college.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
He's got an L on his jersey, though that means leader,
I mean loser. Top four to four is next.
