Speaker 1 (00:00):
Backing guys on ninety five nine Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
All Right, there's two ways I wanted to go with this,
but now we're going a third hot route. We have
breaking news out of the NFL. Is this real?

Speaker 3 (00:18):
By the way, I know this happened earlier in the show.
I know this happened like before we went on the
air today.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Is this really real? And I know what you're saying,
because what the canal's there said, that's our quarterback. And
then less than twenty four hours later, we didn't touch
it in the kickstarter, we didn't touch it in top
Board four A. Yet I didn't really care about it
until we started talking about how bad like how good

(00:43):
let yet bad your NFC South is, and then I
was like, wait a minute, we didn't even like mention this,
so let's get like if you if you can see it.
I put the show run on a nice like Google doc,
but I have notes everywhere that I write, So this
one is in there. Bryce Young being benched for sources

(01:04):
is to chef there and McAfee. All the ESPN heads
are on this one. So Bryce Young, we hardly knew ye.
Take a seat here.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Comes Let me guess, don't tell me. Is it Will
Greer from West Virginia?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Nope? No, okay, it's a former starter, former starter in
the league. Yep. Oh, gosh, I got two more guests,
hang out? Hang on? Don't what was the name? Because
we've also been locked in studios all day doing doing
production because I'm going away next week? But is it
Joe Flacco? Strike two? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Last guest here? Hang on, I'm trying to go quick here.
Kyle Trask is on the Buccaneers. Gosh, I gotta have
a better guess. The Veto is still on the Giants.
There's got to be a stinky backup court. Jared Stidam
still in the Broncos. Who the heck is the backup
for the Panthers? My guy, uh who played Jake the Loom?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Is he still out there? Is he still playing? What
about uh Baker? Oh? My gosh, I don't know, Mac,
tell me who it is. It can't be what No,
I don't know the red Rifle, Andy Dalton or as
Colin Kaepernick. I'm not Colin whoever? Colin you are the starter,
Colin Cowherd, the beige water Pistol. I can't talk. Andy

(02:24):
Dalton's the backup for the Panthers. No, he's started this week.
What the hell he's out of the league like two
years ago? Andy Dalton, Andrew Dalton names Dalton, Andy Dalton,
that's your guy. That's the hope of the future. Thirty
six years young, six two two twenty Rocket arm number

(02:46):
fourteen for the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I have a theory of how this went down. I
would like to go first, unless.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
You want no, No, I'd love to hear your theory.
Here's my theory.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Here's my theory, and it ghoes to everything that's happened
on today's show. There there are certain reports in the world,
and you could criticize us if you say, like, oh,
you guys.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Should have been covered the sport.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
No, no, no, like we do have believe it out some
instincts of this story seems two outrageous to be real
because it's never happened before, something like this of a
rookie quarterback who's played what twelve, fourteen, sixteen games total
in his career, the Heisman Trophy winner, five star can't
Miss prospect at Alabama who they traded, who's five two

(03:27):
pounds allegedly looks like he might be shorter every time
he plays that they traded everything for him, three first
round draft picks.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
They gave everything to the Bears. They're show me eighteen games, okay.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Where they get rid of McCaffrey, They fire his coach,
they get rid of everything. This to me feels far
less about Bryce Young and way more about David Tepper,
the owner of the Carolina Panthers. This to me gives
me vibes of Okay, the Bears have the number one pick,
the quarterback play or Carolina is bad, all right, trade
up to get a quarterback that we want. We want

(04:00):
Bryce Young. Okay, We're gonna fire the head coach, Frank right,
and then we're gonna hire another head coach and Dave Canals,
and then we're gonna fire everybody, and then we're gonna
bench our quarterback. This feels to me that this came
from above everybody, that David Tepper, the Medaline owner, has
said we want Bryce Young and then felt embarrassed that C. J.

(04:21):
Stroud's way better. He felt embarrassed at his coaching work,
so he fired his coach. Now there's nobody left this
to me because over the time of the course of
the history of the NFL a number one Heisman Trophy
overall picked that has no issues off the field, never
gets benched this fast For Andy Dalton, this to me
feels like less coaching and more ownership. I don't know
if you have the same field that story.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
I don't even understand why you have the coach. You
have the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Because the Buccaneers were good, and they're like, let's steal
it from our business. Right these guys have like these
business mindsets, and rightfully so their billionaires, but be like, hey,
our closest competition had success doing this, Let's steal away
our closest competition. Dave Canalis is the OC for the
Bucks last season. Do you know his resume Dave Canallis.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I think he's been the OC for the Bucks for
two years because it was Byron Leftwitch in that mix,
so I would say he was the OC there.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Then maybe some college stuff. Maybe this is like PAC twelve,
PAC ten. Let me help you out here. Let's let's
start with college. We'll leave out the high school coaching,
because he was the Carson High School offensive coordinator two
thousand and four to two thousand and five. But that's
neither here nor there. He was the assistant strength coach
at USC in two thousand and nine, wide receiver coach

(05:32):
for the Seahawks from twenty ten twenty seventeen, quarterback coach
Seahawks eighteen and nineteen, Passing game coordinator for the Seahawks
twenty to twenty one, back to QB coach for the
Seahawks in twenty two, Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator twenty three,
Carolina Panthers head coach twenty twenty four. Some of that

(05:54):
stuff was kind of impressive, because I think a quarterback coach,
I think it's really impressive for your oc hire. I
think it's really weird for your head coach. Higher. Now
here's the deal. Quarterback coach. He's a quarterback coach for
the Seahawks. His two great achievements would have been maintaining

(06:20):
Russell Wilson because eighteen he was already the dude, and
then helping Gino Smith get back the forth, which was
there Aan Preston. Geno Smith's playing great this season again,
so that's his biggest claim to fame. And then Baker
in twenty three because Buccaneers offense played very very well.
So if I'm gonna hire that dude as my head coach,

(06:42):
and I'm gonna give him a number one overall pick quarterback,
five star recruit, Alabama champion. This I gotta listen to
that dude when he walks in my office and goes
he sucks. He's small, he don't have a strong arm,
he's gun shy, he sees ghosts. He's so little that
we have to tie bord around so he can fall
through the dray in the shower. He's a tiny, little dude.

(07:03):
I need a better quarterback. I got Geno Smith to work.
I can fix Andy Dalton. How did Bryce Young? I
even feel nervous in the term bust because CJ. Stround
didn't go to the Steelers. You know, he didn't go
to the forty nine ers. He just try one to
the Texans, which if the Texans are about to pop.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
I remember in twenty twenty three, if I looked at
all the teams in the NFL, that looked to be
the worst team again, but they were great.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Remember they used they used the trade. Yeah, and and honestly,
if you're not a Michigan fan, you don't know the
Ballad of Nico Collins. Nico Collins was supposed to be
number one at Michigan. But he never got everything. Everything
never everything. There was always drama. There's only something stupid.
He never quite got to do what he was supposed to.

(07:51):
And plus the team wasn't that good. He he is
a number one wide receiver and he and you saw
it last night.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
There's something about the walk in the room factor that
you look at CJ. Strouder, you look at Bryce you
on they explain to me why this guy is better
than this guy even though he's the five star starting
freshman in Alabama, wins the Heinsman Trophy, has all these
great games. I'm shocked still hours later by this movie.
Because all right, so let's play this out. What if
Andy Dalton's good? So Bryce Young's officially done in Carolina,

(08:20):
So like they're gonna cut him. Yeah, they're gonna cut
the number one pick after eighteen games? So if they're
gonna trade him, are they gonna trade him to a
team that needs a quarterback? And I'm looking around the NFL.
Did somebody get hurt that is in desperate need of
Bryce Young?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Right now? Is break?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
I'm just looking at this and saying, wow, after eighteen games,
they think He's Zach Wilson had more of an Trevor
Lawrence hasn't won a games since Thanksgiving, and he got
a two hundred million dollar I'm just shocked that they
decided it's got to end now that he's the reason
why the Panthers stink this bad. Just Bryce Young, not management,
not ownership, Bryce Young.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
No, it don't help. I mean it doesn't, it doesn't help. Well,
do you think Bryce Young can right at the ship?
I mean Andy Dalton? No, no, no, no, I'm talking about
Bryce Young, his career. I'm not talking about the Panthers
are garbage. No Canals is gonna be fired in a year.
Uh Andy Dalton's gonna be back up everybodys Everything's gonna

(09:13):
get thrown up again because like David Tepper's a Joe
is does Bryce Young have enough for somebody? You know,
the the QB whispers, the Brian Dables, the Joe Brady's,
the the QB whispers out there? Does he have enough
that somebody could fix him? Kyle could a year backing

(09:33):
up Rock Purty fix Bryce Young, No, to fix the Panthers,
to fix his career. Maybe I missing him? Like can
you could he be good. Could he be good? Yeah,
he could.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Honestly, I think a spot would have Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh's doing
all these retreads with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in
there too and l and Bryce Young is gonna be
a lot less expensive even though he's a number one
pick because Field is a veteran. Wilson's got his contract
and now it's a one year deal. But actually a
great fit for him would be Pittsburgh. So yes, I
do believe Bryce Young can find success for another franchise.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
How Cleveland's an interesting one too.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Deshaun Watson did not play great again, they might look
and say, we'll we'll run two years on Bryce Young
and see what we can do. We've got a pretty
good running attack and a really good defense. He's got
to be accurate. So yeah, I think Bryce Young can
still have some success in the league. If the question
is do I think Andy Dalton Bryce Young can fix Carolina?
I feel very confident in this take. There is not

(10:25):
a quarterback on planet Earth who can fix the Panthers
right now. I don't care if they brought in Mahomes
or Allen. Nobody can fix the Panthers. Did this to themselves.
They had a horrible trade of Chicago. The owner Tepper
is like Daniel Stutterer without the nasty, weird storylines, although
he seems like a jerk, and that's following Jerry Richardson.
So no, I'm sticking by ownership is behind a lot

(10:48):
more of the failures than that.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yeah, I want, I want to be very clear with you. Yeah,
so why didn't ask you about the Panthers? I think
Bryce Young can still be successful. So here's the thing, right,
so you're you're in year two of his contract. Let's
see you. You call over, give you a fourth round
pick for him. They ship him over to San Francisco.

(11:14):
Look what Sam Donald did in one year and we're
only two games in the season. But Sam Donald went
from you know, the blight of the Jets existence to
nothing special in Carolina a year backing up in San
fran Remember how to play football? Now he's two to

(11:35):
zero in Minnesota. So what Bryce Young gets over there?
Bryce is behind party and everybody just does his job. Whatever. Now,
all of a sudden, I'm San Francis started calling around Vegas.
Everybody needs quarterback, third round pick. I'll tinking Bryce, we
fixed him he's ready to go.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yes, pick up the phone if you're a team and
call him. Because you use Sam Donald's as an example,
how about Baker. Think about that the two most recent
Carolina Panthers starting quarterbacks Baker Mayfield than Sam Darnold.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
You want to do MVP ranked six Baker, You guys
just lucked out. I would say Baker made a missus.
Oh was it Canalis? Did he fix him? No? No, I.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Would say Baker's tenure in Cleveland gets skewed by the
final season because remember, Baker Mayfield won a playoff game
against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the Cleveland Browns. He was
a quarterback of that team. His final season in Cleveland,
he got hurt. Shouldn't have played when he started. He's
admitted that to Barstool and Big Cat, and part of
my take, shouldn't have played hurt made everyone review me.
Did a quick thing for the Panthers, very stunk, had

(12:41):
a couple of really good games for the Rams that
probably saved his career, and that looks great. So I
think Baker, the right organization worked out, and Canalis might
have been a part of that. But same with Darnald.
Like you mentioned, San Francisco. He wasn't great for the
Jets historically, not a great franchise, even though we'd love
them here Fox Sports ninety five nine to ninet eighty.
He went to Carolina was even worse. San Francisco is
a good franchise. Now he's with Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Well, Shanahan coached him up.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Bryce on can work still, you know, let me throw
another Let me throw New York team at you two.
I'll throw the Jets and the Giants at you.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Jets aren't gonna unless Aaron Rodgers takes him under his wing,
because we did see there was say what you want
that burning trash heap, that's over in Denver right now?
He actually looked okay when he when he had when
he had big brother Aaron, Soon's Aaron stopped paying attention
to him and he was like, where are you? He
went right back to being a steaming pile. So, unless

(13:35):
you're telling me Rogers is gonna is gonna coach him,
I don't care now Buffalo Joe Brady, because I'm not
looking at him as being the next guy there. I
think wherever he goes, it's insurance policy slash trade him.
Remember when the Eagles did it, Hey hand you skip

(13:55):
over with the Giants. I know, but I'm gonna because
the Giants, you would bring him in thinking he would
compete for the job. I don't think that's what you do.
I think what you do is like like I said,
when the Eagles had Sam Bradford and this one and this,
they had like four all of a suddenybody every time
it's a quarterback. I heard they're like what one wo
on trade for picks? Well star Carson Wentz. But on mind, Yeah,

(14:16):
what do you want? What do you want? Like I said,
I think I think he h I think mm hmm.
I think you gotta you gotta be able to coach on.
I guess the Giants could work. But he's he he's not.
He's not what Dables worked with. Like I want, you
gotta be somebody that these guys have worked with before,

(14:39):
because I just worry, like I don't.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Know, last case scenario, last case scenario. No, no, it's
last case scenario. Is that I say it like that,
I worded it correctly because Carolina probably thinks they're gonna
be the worst team this season after how bad they
played in two weeks and they got a pretty good
kings to. Maybe they're like, look, we suck, and we
know we suck, and we're gonna have the number one pick.
We're not two number one overall picks on our team.

(15:01):
We either get rid of Rayce Young now we think
Dalton's gonna suck, and we'll go get should Doris Sanders Quinn,
you Ors, Carson Beck whoever. And we know he's not
gonna be this guy going forward, because what's the point
of us keeping him like really, like we can let
him every other snappy plays from now until December. His
stock's gonna plummet and we think we're gonna be the worst.
So maybe they're blowing the thing up in week two

(15:23):
or week three. I should say, maybe think they're that
smart because they actually have their own pick this season
and they can do what they want with it.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
It's gonna be early. Yeah, Hm, I would, I mean
I would, I would one hundred percent try to set
him somewhere for like a four Giants, okay, Jent, Like,
I just I don't know if he starts anywhere.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
This is bad news for the Giants, you know now,
thinking about this, I know you talked about like whether
Daniel Jones is compete with.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
This is another quarter That's exactly right.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
If you want a high pick in the upcoming twenty
twenty five drafted, you don't think Daniel Jones the one.
The Panthers have just showed their cards. I really it's
a mix between ownership and saying we either think Andy
Dalton can get us in contention, which I'll disagree. I
don't think that's the truth, or we have the number
one pick. We suck. Let's not mess around anymore. We
got it wrong, let's own it. We'll move on.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Is it a reset. We're gonna pull him back for
a week. We'll work with him, We'll try to get
his head right. Maybe my memory is failing me right now.
I don't remember a lot of resets being successful for
a quarterback's career. I just came off the top of
my head, think, hey, this guy got benched, but he
came back and it worked out better for him. I
feel like that happens a lot more pitchers in baseball.

(16:27):
Maybe there's one you gotta go back. I think like
there's Usually it's just a guy gets lost and it
gets the yips kind of situation. I think like I
think a Boomer of siasin in in Arizona. He got
benched and then came back and played pretty well for
a little bit.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Trying to think about Stafford or Baker warrenerbe Warner has
been WARN's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Yep, you starting job and got back don't Yeah, I don't.
I We'll see, we'll see. It's intriguing. It's funny because
we had all this conversation earlier. Today they forgot all
about it. I got right back into it. Actually, what
about the Chargers. No, now again, you don't. Don't think
about him as the future starter for the Chargers. Think

(17:13):
about him getting coached up by a Harbaugh. And then
again I bring you, I pay a four to get you,
and then I ship you out for a three, like
I'm literally using you to get a better draft pick
in the future. Because I'll tell you. I'll tell you
why this trade of thought keeps going through my head.

(17:33):
I didn't tell you this one earlier. When I see
the way Sam Darnold's playing for Minnesota. Again, it's only
two weeks. However, if I'm the Raiders and I anticipate
us being too good to be in the top five
picks to get the great quarterback in the draft? How
do I get my great quarterback? I'm looking right over

(17:55):
at Shanahan, going, all right, who'd you fix this year?
What do you got over there? So like you got
like if you if it's something like that where I
can I can flip the pick. Maybe I pay a five,
I get a four. Maybe it's conditional wait whatever, But
like I'm one hundred percent trying to think of flipping
for draft picks, not just bring him in to be
the next starter. I get what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
I maybe it goes back to what I was talking
about minutes ago that I feel like Bryce Young Kane
still do it now.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Whether I believe that or not, the NFL teams have
to believe that or good Luke gets fix. Bryce Young
don't feel confident in that. No, I mean he did
call hell of an end of the game. I had
to give that him and minshew. Really, I'm trying to
hate on him the whole time and I got nothing
after that game. All right, Well, let's talk some about

(18:43):
the four Ultimate Energry Bankroll Challenge and then making Dark
Giants next.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Yes, we swung and we missed this week with the
Sea four Challenge a lot of right your teaser didn't
I don't think so. Oh for four for us after
the most profitable week we've ever had to do the challenge,
But uh, C four get in your system today. Head
a frozen Imcicolovac a couple of days ago, and then
sadly had to go back to coffee. What am I
doing enough with the coffee? Get a big old stack
by five or six. Have so many Sea fours in

(19:08):
your hand you can barely carry them. Get be ready
for the week. C four gives you that extra boost
that you need. And the flavors are great. When you
buy five or six C fours, get five or six
different flavors, test them out like Levac and I too.
Gives us all those things we need that extra boost.
Weathers in the afternoon during the show, weathers in the morning,
if your schedules continue to change. We love C four.
We're so happy to have that set us pictures. When

(19:29):
you're at Stewart's at Speedway.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Come by.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
We're gonna get Stewarts on Friday from now until November,
so just go to the Stewarts We're at every Friday.
Our schedules up on Fox Sports nine eighty dot com.
Buy a Sea four and enjoy your weekends.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
It is definitely you know, try it once, you'll like
it and then it's a great way to get moved
through your day. It's explosive energy you can feel. We
love it and hopefully I'll start winning. I just I'm
I'm in the hurt locker right now. All right, let's
talk about these these New York football giants. Is tables
seat hot or is it just that's preheating? That's next?

(20:01):
Fox Sports Radio ninety five, nine to nine eighty.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Well, backing guzz on the voice of the Capitol Regions
sports fan, Fox Sports ninety five to nine and nine eighty.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Yes, all right, the New York Giants started owing to
the schedule sucks. Everybody thought, I mean, and I say
every when I say everybody, I just know that I'm
saying me, Okay, I thought it too. I'm not saying
you're all a bunch of stinky poop poof faced losers.
I'm saying that I thought these were games they were
gonna win. When I say everybody, if trust me, if

(20:29):
I was right, I would be everybody butt me. Of course,
the Giants do air on our sister station picks one
of six. I for some reason, I'm emotionally invested in
the Giants. I don't know when it happened. I don't
know how it happened. They've always been like a like
a background team because of my friends are are Giants fans.

(20:49):
But like I like Daniel Jones, I think you put
me in the corner of rooting for him because you
just hated him for where he got drafted, not like
you hated him for being drafted, which is weird to
me because the term draft doesn't imply Daniel Jones said
I would like to be taken here. It says Danie
Jones your ours now. I love Brian Dabele, even skinny

(21:13):
Brian Dable, Joe Shane I could probably take or leave,
but whatever, the thought of dabel being out just kind
of hurts my feelings for a team I don't really
root for and being on to Now you're at the
Browns next week. That is a winnable game. They could

(21:35):
beat the Browns, not with the way they've been playing,
but they showed some flares like you got the bottom.
Milak neighbors a bunch. He did have that drop which
he freaked out, which I like, I love, I love
everything about Milik neighbors. Right now, you could beat the Browns,
you could beat the Cowboys, could beat the sex I
don't know when you're gonna be favored again? Was that
the Commanders? And even then maybe not me? The Panthers.

(22:02):
You're probably favor like two more times this year. I
don't know why I care so much. I don't want
Dable to get fired, but is he gonna make it
through this season?

Speaker 3 (22:12):
I don't want him to get fired either, but if
you're oen eight, that hot seed will call it. The
pressure for him to get fired gets turned up incredibly,
even though we both seem to agree he's a good coach.
You don't go from coach of the Year to getting
fired in two years the NBA. Weirdly, it happens all
the time, But I feel like there's almost nonsense involved

(22:32):
with Brian Able. Didn't forget football in a year or
two years. If you're like, well, what happened? We all
know the answer, Like we all know the answer. They
had to clean up a lot of the mess that
Dave get him and left him, and we have a
lot of weeks if he plays poorly to pile on
Danie Gen's I thought he was more than good in
week two. Wasn't great, wasn't an all pro. But anybody
who watched listened to week two. Daniel Jones is not

(22:55):
the reason the Giants lost that game, Malik Neighbors. They
figured out a new game plans. Feed him, get him
the balls off. That is possible, and it worked. It
was a good strategy. Him and Marvin Harrison Jr. A
week ago. It's not our job this week. Feed him
and they and they everybody eat. The defense hit Jayden

(23:15):
Daniels and hit him hard. They did that. So the
defense played well enough. They forced them into a ton
of field goals. I believe only field goals in that game.
So the defense played well. A new strategy on offense,
you weren't good enough because of the special teams. If
you really want to get on Brian Dable, it's because
of that situation. And like it almost seems so easy

(23:36):
to do. He didn't do it, and people wonder, wait, wait,
we all see the fix man. You don't have a
kicker who's healthy and he's going to impact the game.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (23:43):
The questions he got in that postgame press conference and
the look he gave Pat Leonard about asking about his
job security, he could have strangled him. He wanted to
jump over the podium and strangled him. Afre ask, are
you concerned about your job future? It's not right job
security because look now he's a blow five hundred coach.
Now the record's not helping him out in any way.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
It don't. I don't like this take gosh, this has
been the theme of my show today.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
I don't like my ticks sponsored by COSS, but really
like Think about twenty twenty two.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
You think you don't like what I'm saying, Think about
twenty twenty two.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
If that Giant team, rather than going to the postseason
and winning a road playoff game, was four and twelve,
four and thirteen, Let's say they sucked in year one.
All of a sudden, the expectations are, you know what,
They're gonna get a quarterback. They're not tied to Daniel Jones,
Brian Dable, kids who he wants, Joe Shane finds a
guy he wants, and you're only working out from there.

(24:38):
That's the problem, and it's it's a horrible problem to say.
It is that the expectations were so high after twenty
twenty two that they were supposed to be a contender
now in twenty three, twenty four because of their own success.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
And that's not the case, all right, worst case scenario,
you keep losing, Seguan keeps scoring because you know that
your owner wanted to keep sakuon. It wasn't your choice
with Joe Shane who we don't know whatever is I'm trying.

(25:11):
What I keep trying to think about is when you
look at the most recent giant coaches, Pat Shermer, well,
Pat Shermer's want to you know, his regime is what
brought us this. He was cantankerous all the time. He
just felt like he was gonna be honest way out.
Joe Judge comes in, he blows your way, but then

(25:32):
he then he starts talking and saying things he shouldn't say.
Now he's an assistant at like old miss or something
is if you're if you're Brian Dable, is there a
way for you to handle this that protects you, that
insulates you, like if you do if you if you
speak properly to the media, if you if you stay

(25:55):
in touch with Mara and explain why the things are
going the way they're going. Is there a way for
him to this? Because it right now I feel like
if i'm Mera, I'm looking around at everybody going I
told you not to let Sakuon leave. You did. He's
got three touchdowns, he's played one game. We had three
touchdowns in a game and lost. Like I told you
not to do all these things. You didn't do any

(26:15):
You didn't do what I wanted, and we're not better.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
That way of saving your job and trying to find
that path. The advice I would give is trying to
do the opposite of Ben mcado because we're approaching mcadoo's
status an awesome genius, like offensive play caller who now
has a quarterback controversy because the quarterback's not getting the

(26:40):
job done. And I get Elion was a legend and
Daniel Jones, I think that's a big factor. I totally
agree with that. But Eli was a legend and how
they treated Elion at the end, Giant fan didn't like it.
It was clunky, it was weird. It costs McAdoo a
lot of time in the future in his job. But
this is going to be odd and clunky and weird too.
When you eventually say hey, we're oh to five or

(27:01):
owen six and Daniel Jones isn't the guy We're gonna
trot out Drew Locke and think he's better. Well, why
don't you do it from week one? If you always
thought he was better? Why there are gonna be a
lot more questions. So we are approaching the awkward, clunky
McAdoo thing, and your question is can he do something
in that span of games?

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Is there a way to handle this that? Yeah? I
don't know the path to that.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
So I guess my answer for this will be no,
because I don't have an example of a quarterback head coaching.
Odd we want to bench you because I want to
keep my job, but the mayors are football people, said
that might not be as No, I don't see a path.
If there is a path, I would love for someone
to maybe you got one, because I don't know how
you handle that the right way.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
I don't see it. I just I think you still
you gotta save Daniel Jones. And let's be clear, Dale
Jones is not why you lost no to Washington. No, no, No,
Your kicker is why you lost to Washington. Kickers why
he lost Washington because you didn't have a backup kicker
on your roster. But let's not be be so quick

(28:00):
to judge that. We don't know the roster right there's
enough guys banged up. Maybe it makes more sense to
have the other guys ready to go. However, you gotta
have something kick it. You kick a few extra points.
It's a different game.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Here's the worst case scenario for the Giants. They stink
this year. They're terrible. They're three and fourteen. But we
just talked about the Panthers. The Panthers are worse. They
get the number one pick and the la Rams never
get healthy. The Giants are the third pick.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
They go.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Let's say it goes Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck and
you're sitting third on the clock and you got to
make a decision and Shadora Sanders or cam Ward or
Kyle McCord. I like cal McCord, but like somebody is
on the board. Who's your third option? And you take
them and they're okay, and then you stink again. In
twenty twenty five and the twenty twenty six draft rolls around,
there could have been Arch Manning and the New York

(28:49):
Jets have traded up like that's the worst case there
that you have Eli Manning's nephew on the board in
two years and he might be the best of all
of them, and timing's wrong for you this time.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Hold on is maybe we're looking this wrong? Is it
not about what Dabel does? Dude? If you're Brian Dabel,
Joe Shane and all your staff, is your biggest hope
that Bill Belichick prefers not coaching, because that's the thing is,
you can't tell me that with Belichick, Like what you're

(29:20):
talking about that draft, Like if you a top three pick,
top four, top five pick, I don't know if it's
Dabel and Shane making that pick. It might be Belichick
and McDaniels.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
I believe more in Brian's a ball than Daniel Jones
and Joe Shane. So I'm a Brian Dabel fan because
I saw it work in twenty twenty two. He's got
the re resume of the pedigree from the Bills to Alabama.
I believe in him more than the other two guys.
Daniel Jones, we could do another three hours. That might
take on Daniel Jones. Joe Shane's felt very arrogant, almost
too inflated of an ego during the hard Knock season

(29:52):
of Well, I worked in Carolina, So back off a
little bit, all right. I just don't you know how
good I did for the Panthers. And I believe he's
got to connection to the Bills too. But like when
you're bragging about your relationship with Carolina after maybe this
is too recent to see bias after our last segment,
But like you tell me which one of these threes
better at their job? I'm taking Brian table every single time.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
I mean, I love Brian Dad. I just can you
it's very rare that you hire a GM after the coach.
It's it's very rare that the coach would stay without
a GA, Like I think it's I think it's all
or nothing. Can you can you? Can you have a
conversation with Mara and Tish in which you say our

(30:37):
biggest mistake was winning in our first year? Like, can
you have that conversation and get them to buy it?
I I just I think I would love them to
have one more year. And and like here's here's the thing.
Let's say they do win a lot of these tougher games,
and it's because Dale Jones starts looking good again, which
could happen. I mean, it's very very possible. You're right

(31:00):
back to where you were. You going to another year
with Dale Jones and those draft picks turn into whatever,
another offensive lineman.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Or who would And here's the scary part about that.
Who in the NFL wants Daniel Jones? Seriously? Like this
is like one of these things, like it goes to
Zack Wilson a little bit, like Zach Wilson is a
third stringer now in Denver. Nobody wanted him beause they
didn't want to be a backup or a starter. That's
what I wonder about Daniel Jones. Does anybody else want him?
Besides New York being stuck with him, it seems like
nobody wants them.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Oh I did. Nobody wants them For a prize, I
guarantee you that if he was released, he'd be a
backup somewhere fast. I mean, dude, seriously, look at look
at Buffalo. It's Josh Allen, Mitchell Trubisky. It's like the Clones,
Mason Rudolph, like the like it's March in the the
six four white dudes who all look the same, like
like Dale Jones. Would get something. He would be somebody,

(31:49):
but you're just not gonna pay for him. You know
he's gonna be available for free soon. Like it's the
it's the end of the day for the yard sale,
and you've already you know the thing he wants going
to the trash. Just drive by later. That's what people do.

Speaker 3 (32:00):

Fox WRTS Radio ninety five eighty.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
It's the Vakan guzz on ninety five nine Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
Kid Crazy Show. Like I felt like I was super
organized when we started, and I realized that that meant
nothing like nothing.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
I knew those Monday football shows are going to be
a sprint, especially the Yankees Red Sox, especially with breaking
news during the show.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
New York story.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
This is the smallest news that just we remember, smallest
dump in the history of Levac and Gons right here
in about four minutes.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Feels unsatisfying. Here, I said, broken hearted, came to but
only farted. All right, I have one. We've had I
had one as well. Oh no, no, no, you do yours.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
I think it's the same one you have. No, no, no,
go ahead, you teased earlier in the sumur But Raheem
Morris or was that.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
At the end of the two o'c I'm curious about
that we got we got overrule with other stuff. Do
you have ill will towards him? Remember? Raheem Morris was
supposed to be Tampa's Mike Tomlin like the Pittsburgh Steelers. Listen,
we got this young, charismatic, very intelligent secondary coach happens
to be a black guy. We're gonna put him in charge.

(34:05):
And it looked great and everyone loved it, and all
of a sudden, Tampa went, Hey, we have a young, charismatic,
intelligent secondary coach, also a black dude. This is perfect.
Let's put him in charge. Didn't work quite the same way.
Do you do you have ill will towards him because
of him being a flop as your coach. I feel
like he got put in a wrong spot way too

(34:26):
early in his career. Believe when he was hired by
the Bucks. It was the first coach post John Gruden
as well when he was the Tampa Bay coach. So
John Gruden had a couple of bands season and felt
like the rushing of a former Super Bowl winning head coach.
The firing wasn't at the right spot, so yeah, there
was some resentment there. Then he wasn't good for Tampa.
And it feels like he got better as a head
coach because he coached under Sean McVay. So resentment only

(34:49):
because of the NFC South connection. Now I root against him.
I don't think he's very good. Oh gosh, I have resentment.
Yeah the answers, yes, talking it out loud, I should
build by the hour for this segment, because I was saying, like,
I don't know what he is as a coach. I
thought he was gonna be really, really good. I like
guys who get their second opportunity. I usually root for

(35:10):
him early and then if they fall apart, well, hey,
I gave you a chance. Not that what I think
matters this? It does? It does? Okay, Well then I
give him a chance. So we'll find out tonight if
he's any good. All right, what's your dump? Oh that
was gonna be my dumb too. Oh okay, well here's
another one. Did you happen to see Jamar Chase get
the penalty for unsports they did? Dude? Oh with him? Like,

(35:32):
what's going on with Jamar Chase? Because I know he's
mad and get paid. I get that. Whatever you're under
a contract, it's not guaranteed to get renegotiated early or
it's super early like you wanted it to. I feel
like he's his own worst enemy right now in the
football field. He claims he's not going to talk about
the contract anymore. That's me, he claims. I felt like
when he was watching that play with Jamar Chains, I'm like,

(35:53):
I've seen this before. Were that game years ago?

Speaker 3 (35:57):
I know believe you know it very well now the
Bengals Steeler game where like the Bengals got called for
like three personal fouls in a row and that cost
in that first playoff win in like thirty years. Like
it feels like only the Bengals get busted for pivotal
personal foul calls. It felt more like a franchise thing.
Cincinnati looked so much better in that game than they

(36:18):
did in a Week one, but that North Division Pittsburgh's.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Two and zero.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Cleveland got their first win. Baltimore is in the basement
now with Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
You're welcome. We told you that North was gonna be competitive.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
We thought it was gonna be the scenario played out
in twenty three with four potential playoff teams. Math is
no longer on the side of the AFC North contender.
So yes, I feel like Chase is his own worst
enemy because he's so talented. But gosh, Cincinnati is a franchise.
Seems like they always do that stuff for themselves.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
I do feel like Baltimore is gonna ride the ship
and they're it in a pretty aggressive way. And at
Cowboys could be a fun fun game because they both
need to write the chip. That's it could be a
very very fun fun game. All right, that's it. That's
all we go. That's it. The show's over. Show's over.
Wash your hands, don't touch your face. It's a Fox
Sports Radio ninety five ninety nine. Eighty guys, hit the button.
