Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for Hannah's one big Thing. It's gonna be
the greatest thing ever on Madison's Classic Rock one on
one point five IBA FM.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Your Hannah Radio show is on wrapping things up here though,
Ben in studio, so I can pass it off to him.
You ready to go? Ben? Oh?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I cannot wait to get started this afternoon, Hannah. Where's
the week gone? Too? It's hard to believe it's already
Thursday's flying by?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Can you believe it's August first?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
No? I cannot believe that either. Thanks for reminding me
of that too.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Sorry.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
At least you and I though, we're gonna dive right
into my big thing because this is literally the perfect
transition into it.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
So we're getting good at.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
This, I know, right, It's like we've been doing this
for a while. Okay, so luckily, I mean, I'm assuming
you don't have to worry about anything back to school shopping,
getting kids ready, that kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Right.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Well, I don't either, because my kid's not old enough yet,
Thank goodness. Because parents are like super desperate that they're
actually considering dumpster diving and theft because of how expensive
school supplies are getting this year.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Oh my goodness. Yeah, isn't that wild?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Like we already knew inflation, the economy, all that kind
of stuff that it was going to be like a struggle.
And obviously prices on everything is going up, but most
parents are trying to stay under budget and are gonna
have a hard time with that. So I think it
said like five percent of parents were gonna consider dumpster
diving because they were that desperate they were going to

(01:26):
search the house for like already use supplies that they
could use again this year, and hoarding during the school year,
like all that kind of stuff. So it's kind of
crazy that it's getting that out of hand. I feel
bad for parents who are focused on back to school
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah. I think about teachers too and trying to you know,
kind of fill up their classrooms too to have enough
money for that.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Oh yeah, because like they have to fill in kind
of all the gaps and all that. And this article
said that on average, parents are going to anticipate spending
two hundred and eighty dollars on supplies.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
That is insane. And imagine if you have multiple children.
Oh my gosh, yeah, you know, I will I will
say this, this is something cool. I've seen probably over
the last handful of years. I have some friends who
are teachers and on Facebook, yeah, I think it's simple
and Facebook whatever, they share a link to an Amazon
wish list of things that they're looking to fill their
classroom with. So you know, you can help out if

(02:16):
you see, you know, those things pop up in your feed,
you know the people. If you don't have kids, you
can still help out. So that's something hopefully more teachers
take advantage of.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Absolutely I've seen that as well. I've got a lot
of friends who are teachers, and it's pretty crazy how
much of their own money they actually put into like
their classrooms. And must be real, we all know teachers
don't make an outrageous amount of money anyways. So anytime
you see those, yeah, if you can help out, that's
awesome because you never know when your kid and your
classroom is going to need some help or whatever to.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, that's absolutely crazy. People can step up and help out. Otherwise,
just watch the flyers, watch the coupons, you know hopefully, yes, yes, yes,
all right, Hannah, enjoy the rest of your Thursday. We'll
talk again tomorrow. Sounds good, all right, So we continue
to work till our two forty gang, I want to
send you to the Wisconsin State Fair with four tickets

(03:05):
a four pack if you will, so that's on the way.
In the meantime, you have floid fixed. What a one
