Speaker 1 (00:04):
You're checking out the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Everybody's d J n.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
V jess hilarious, charlamage the guy we are the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Longer roses here.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
As well, and we got some icons, legends, ladies and gentlemen.
We have new audition and boys to men.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
They going on tour together. I feel like this should
have been happen right, all right? Why did it take
so long? Who wants to start?
Speaker 5 (00:35):
I think that there's a lot of logistics that go
with having two groups, two groups with such great success.
In order to get that together, scheduling has to be right. Also,
the you know what I mean, the energy has to
be right, the climate has to be right. And I
just believe that this is the time. God put this
time as the time to show the world what this,
(00:58):
this whole vibe is all about. New addition him Boys
to Men, Tony Box and it's a real thing. And
this is the moment God placed it right here, not his.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Boys to Manfield. I got to ask, because you guys,
they were your idols, right and still are you seeing them?
You know, when y'all had a show in Philly, y'all
coming to the bus and y'all singing and well, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
That's not actually how it went, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
No, no, no, I.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Don't mean to.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I don't mean to, but you know, but you know,
like in order in order for the.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Story to to to actually be uh told in the movies,
sometimes you have to you know, make it all go
together and sequence, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
For people. So there's truth to that.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
But it was Michael Bibbins, Ricky and and Ron. They
were actually coming off stage at the Powerhouse and they
were in Philly and they were introducing that you guys
were going to be D B D and uh we
had just by the time they came off stage, we
had just snuck backstage. We passed passes back and forth.
(01:59):
We got backstage. As soon as we got there. They
were coming off stage, and I guess, uh.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Nate asked Ricky can we sing for him? You know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Ricky was like, y'all got it tape?
Speaker 6 (02:13):
Y'all?
Speaker 5 (02:14):
He said yeah, yeah, got it tape and we was like, no,
we ain't got no tape. And he was like, well,
y'all need a tape, you know what I'm saying. He
started writing down the address, but then Nate was like, hey, yo,
let me go to BIV. So he's like, BIV, can
we sing for you? And he was like, can y'all
do it right now? Boom we busted into King you
standing right in a cappella. So it was backstage. It
(02:34):
wasn't that a tour bus. But you know what I mean.
The story nonetheless, it definitely resonated.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
The tour bus was more exciting.
Speaker 7 (02:43):
Yeah, yeah, right, it was a lot more sexy.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
The US was sexy.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
I do want to ask you every every artist, manager, artist,
executive relationship has his highs and lows when you look back,
what was some of the biggest misunderstanding lessons y'all learned from?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
You know, each other.
Speaker 8 (03:00):
I guess you could say, like when any relationship, I
mean in a group, because even when Bibbs signed his
years ago, it was almost like him being a fifth
member at the time, and I think it was more
like a dynamic type thing. You know, we learned a
lot about each other's personalities as well as just understanding,
you know, how the business went. So you know, you
had your share of highs and lows and ups and downs,
(03:21):
but at the end of the day, it's all about that.
It's better is the end of a thing in the
beginning of a thing. Absolutely, So it's one of those
things where it's like, here we are, look at this.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 8 (03:31):
A lot of people didn't think that this, you know,
situation would even happen. But as you mentioned, poison men,
oh a lot to new audition. But this is what
succession looks like. You understand what I'm saying. So so
it's one of those things where it's like these guys
did what they did, and they gave us the ball
and we ran with it so.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
That now we can roll together. Now we can roll
with it together.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Can we expound on the brotherhood you know between all
of y'all. Man, you know, I love seeing all of
y'all together after all these years. What have y'all learned
about forgiveness and just staying together as brothers do?
Speaker 2 (04:00):
A boy, I could say, go ahead, go ahead, you said,
I've said.
Speaker 9 (04:04):
Before you talking about the fact that when you're talking
about true brotherhood, it's a real true brotherhood and we're
like real siblings. And I've said that that's why you
see we go through our ups and downs, our battles.
We're gonnadd some ups and downs and all of the above,
but at this stage of our lives when we come together, man,
it's like it's just nothing but laughter. It's like, at
(04:26):
this point of our lives, we didn't been through a lot,
and I'm sure there's more to deal with as far
as challenges go, but we've come full circles just as
grown men, just as as human beings, and and we
have fun when we come together.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, I was gonna say, y'all need to talk with
y'all just like, look, we brought well this this is
the deal again.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
We this is the first time that we've even come
together in this circumstance, you know what I mean. Other
times it's been you know, we've been on shows with
with BBD. We've done a few shows with Johnny and
Bobby and you know, and we I think we did
one gig that we all were together. But I feel
like in order for the energy to actually get to
(05:04):
the place where it's supposed to be something like that,
a break bread moment has to happen. You know, some things,
you know, some things that we might have on our
hearts may need to come out, you know what I'm saying.
I mean, that's that's what brotherhood is about, you know.
And and I'm a big fan of atonement, guys.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
I'm a big fan of of of letting it go,
especially at the age that we're all at.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
You know, I'm trying.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I'm trying to. Yeah, man, I'm trying. I'm trying to.
I'm in coach Moe. This is the time. Let's go out,
let's make some money, Let's entertain these people and be
on coach mold.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
That's all conversation.
Speaker 8 (05:41):
Like that initial conversation, what he was saying was, it's
it's one of those things where because we're on the
road and because we have the time, it's going to
be one of those organic things. Yeah, we don't want
to make this a melo drama. It ain't no negativity,
ain't no mess like like you know what I'm saying,
None of that excuse me, none of that stuff like it.
(06:02):
It's really just about understanding how important this meant or
this was to not only to the fans but to us.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
So this is what we're doing.
Speaker 8 (06:11):
We're celebrating, we're gonna have a good time, we're gonna
go on the road and We're gonna sing and dance
our asses off. Absolutely, we're gonna give people the greatest
show they've ever seen in their life.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
To have fun doing this, have fun doing it. Now.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
What do you think there's missing in the R and
B game right now? Why don't you think there's more
R and B groups?
Speaker 10 (06:27):
Honestly, I think it started at the record I think
people that are hired now, some of them don't have
an eye for talent.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
They have an eye for their computer word.
Speaker 10 (06:38):
Sometimes you have to go in the street, like we
met in the street. You know, they're singing to be closed,
And I think they look at it as the hits
of the computer makes them a hit group. But it's
so much more to it, and back in the day,
like for myself as the CEO, I stayed the two
in the morning and kept looking at the the pictures,
(07:01):
listening to the music, the an R and the people
at the office. Now they're on the red carpet before
the artists get there. So the responsibility and the care
the detail is missing. And if someone would just slow
down and say, Yo, how many times we gotta look
at the Grammys and not one R and B group
is on the shelf right right, right, right right, and
(07:22):
the first time we see in an R and B
group in the last five years. Well, you know, we
saw what Bruno on them did, but that was a
different thing. I'm talking about someone from the hood, like
a Yoda signal. Addition, Boys to Men Jagged Edge is
when Wan Suns was on there and Jesse gave them
the shot. That's the first time we seen black kids
on the Grammys ever in a long time. And that's
(07:42):
where it starts. It starts younger, it Scottshot at the office,
or it's gonna have to come from us, all.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Right when we come back, we got more with new
Audition and Boys to Men. Now, we're gonna do a
bunch of mini mixes this morning. Let's start off with
a new addition mini mix. This is gonna be difficult
because they got so many hits, so many records. We
got to break it down into a couple.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Play the ones that they want to dance to. Now
they don't want Bobby want to dance one, Bobby don't
want to dance, You don't play.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
We can get into it now at the breakfast club.
Speaker 11 (08:08):
Good morning, New a Thistion Taal. Boys to men's here.
Let's start off a new edition. I know it this
many miss Let's have some fun this morning, singing.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Loud, mister tylor phone man.
Speaker 12 (08:30):
They served it wrong with my line when I know
my baby's number, and then you can't give.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Me time, mister tylor prone me. They served the wrong
with my line when I know my baby is nothing wrong.
I didn't give me time. Go in, let me know
your favorite.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Doing this and joint.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Boys to men is here. I can't wait for this two,
let's go.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I try you to tell myself because it's in my eyes.
Speaker 12 (09:32):
Don't deny.
Speaker 9 (09:34):
I can't no one else because this bug is around.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
I say it is.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Why do I see this ray? Why does she stay
on my mind?
Speaker 9 (09:51):
Is?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Why does it so bad? Don't make me feel so sad?
Speaker 13 (09:58):
Insid?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
What about this though? They got so many hits.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
And ain't keep it out tonight And let me set
it off in the right way. You got a bang
and booty in a tight way, something a face since
I met you in a lovey and hopefully you wind
up over my place.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
They got so many joints, we ain't got enough time.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
It's one of my favorites. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
All the perfect day.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
I know that I can't go on.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
That's not possible.
Speaker 12 (11:12):
Because I need Bobby stand Bobby through the good time
and that time all always everybody up still baby.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Can warning everybody it's d J Envy just Hilarian Charlamagne,
the gud we Are the Breakfast Club were still kicking
it with new addition and boys to men now with
Bobby with so many hits, how many hits are you
gonna do on stage?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Man to the mic?
Speaker 3 (11:54):
And then because this is the that's the time where
everybody could take a break. You have so many hit
records single like, how how are you break.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Me?
Speaker 1 (12:05):
And break? I don't. I don't know. It's up it's
up to Brook and it's up to you know the guys.
How much they want me on the stage. I don't.
I don't plan to do no more than the next man.
Speaker 10 (12:17):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
One.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
So for boys and men?
Speaker 14 (12:32):
How long did it take y'all to complete a whole
song in the studio? Because you when I say when
the song's be going off, you'd be like no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
I got some more specific with it.
Speaker 14 (12:48):
The Christmas album that I bumped all year round Christmas cerversations.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Wow, thank you my favorite.
Speaker 14 (12:56):
I play it all year round. How long did it
take y'all to complete a single song?
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Well, I'll tell you this.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
It took us two weeks to do the Christmas album.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
What that's all the time.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
We had two weeks, that's all we had.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
And we recorded it in Europe, London, in London, yes,
with Brian McKnight. We sat there because we were on tour.
We were on tour in London, right, and we had
we had to meet the deadline, and we sat in there.
Of course we wrote songs on the road, you know,
like Sean would call me to his room he had
joyous song. I came up with why Christmas. Nate had
(13:28):
a cold December Nights. Mike did no No, Michael's Cold
December Knights.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Nate had what was the record, share Love, Share Love?
Speaker 1 (13:37):
So yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
So the idea, like literally.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
To to do a new standard Christmas album was It
was grueling because we didn't have much time, but we
wrote the hell out of that.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Like every aspect of it was straight from the.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
You know, the soul, you know what I mean. It
was real, real moments. So we didn't we didn't want
to make it all like you know, jing you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
We wanted to make it. We wanted to make it
so that so.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
That so that we could feel it, you know what
I'm saying, so that you could actually play that drawn straight.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
So yeah, you know, once you know, once the standards
come and play, you know, of course you can make choices,
but when you have new Christmas records that people fall
in love with, that's the only choice.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
That's why we decided not to make another one.
Speaker 14 (14:23):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I want you please, But if y'all
don't need to because that that's one of my favorite albums,
than you appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Johnny Gil, why did you kill give Love on Christmas Daily?
Because that's my favorite Christmas song?
Speaker 14 (14:36):
Like y'all was singing these Christmas songs like women were
leaving y'all's.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
That's all I had to give. I have money back then.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
All I have was loved Off.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Is the song that you guys hate to do that, Like,
I just don't want to do that song looking at
each other, see I know what was one?
Speaker 1 (15:01):
This and the Still of the Night. I hate this song.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
I'll tell you why you hate it so so so
we're in Salt Lake City, we're on and and uh,
the record label. I'm sure they have had something to
do it this the record label and was like, yo,
we need a record for the Jackson's Mini series and
(15:25):
we wanted to be in the Still of the Night. Now,
we could think of so many other records that we
would have been excited to do, you know what I mean,
But they wanted in the Still of the Night. So okay,
it's a very easy record, guys, you know what I mean.
Of course, with our harmony structures, we kind of we
kind of do it a little bit different because it's
not the regular triad. The issue is is nobody wanted
(15:45):
to sing the league. It was a day off weekend
and we wanted to go snowmobill exactly right, exactly.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
So nobody wanted to sing the league. So anything right, right?
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Right?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
No, no, no, hell no, we don't want to sing
the league because it's in the other night, right, So
we flipped the coin.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
That's how we did every That's how we that's how
we cleared every alter cage, every situation.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
We were just want one and we left.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
I don't even remember, Bro, I was so pissed off.
Speaker 7 (16:21):
I'm looking out the window, snow cap mountains, hilarious traumas.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Just so that new addition hates to do, want to
know that?
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Yeah, what's all y'all hate to do?
Speaker 15 (16:34):
Familiar will probably be You're not my kind of girl?
What yeah, leans in on the dance side, is this
one move that we do? Whatever you know later on
my ass hurts everything.
Speaker 16 (16:53):
Dance moves in like things you're not going to touch
this time around.
Speaker 15 (16:55):
On We are definitely gonna but I think we do
want to give people a different experience. Like MB said,
some of the classic stuff that people have come to
know us for if it is in love, maybe even
(17:16):
you're not my kind of girl.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Some of those things we're going to keep in place.
Speaker 15 (17:20):
We might add some variances, but I think people want
to see us do something new and fresh. So we
definitely want to give people a different experience.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Ballplayers get older. They even got to just the game
just right, thank you.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Listen, you gotta.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Expect that they want the same look from twenty one
and be.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Like you try, that's what you're telling you try.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Sometimes Running Men just ran out Walking Man.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
We got more new edition and Boys to Men we
come back. We did a new addition mini mix.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Now let's get into a Boys to Men mini mix.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
It's the Breakfast Club, Good morning, new edition.
Speaker 11 (18:07):
Boys to Men a Airlin get to a boy mini mix.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Let's go Philly without Philly boys. It's long over, Duke
(18:40):
now Bill Flaming Boys.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Leads go Stam never skipped the beat, wilding.
Speaker 9 (18:50):
On South Beat, just black man, plenty of friends and
all the Philly sticks.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
I guess school, you should dream about this really happened.
Speaker 11 (19:01):
But you say the say away, there's not even singing amaziness.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
He's not a lady.
Speaker 17 (19:09):
We asking.
Speaker 9 (19:10):
It's just for you.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
Let's go, Let's go.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Fifty keep coming.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Boys to Mint are here.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
You belong again.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
And you know, Arod, why did you blame?
Speaker 12 (19:44):
What did shit?
Speaker 2 (19:52):
We sitting there.
Speaker 17 (20:01):
Well to.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Sing good Jess, good time, spring down morning.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Everybody is the e j Envy.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Just Hilarian Charlamagne, the guy we all the Breakfast Club
is still kicking it with new addition and Boys to
Men Charlamagne.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
When everybody broke off and had success outside in the audition,
did y'all ever look at each other and be like,
I didn't know they could do that?
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Like I didn't know Bby do that.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
I ain't. Nobody could do that, not me.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
I was just static.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Every time something blew off and somebody was winning, I
was a static. I was at home, like they go.
Speaker 18 (20:57):
That's Bobby was the damn entertainer mastering our project. You know,
when we grew up, I just knew he was better
than all of us are dancing and entertaining and just
just being live. You know what I'm saying. He was
that dude, and so not the world, the world not
being able to see that as a part of our group,
there was a big dynamic missing this. So when he's
(21:19):
when he stepped out and he did it, it's like, yes,
they get to see that we have that in us too,
because there was a lot of stuff that was coming
real candy girl, real them boys are real soft or
this bubble gum and we don't get bubble gum man,
So you don't you don't hate it, but you don't
like it either. So having another body and when BBD
started representing and Bobby started representing, Johnny's in the group.
(21:40):
Now he's doing his thing with his grown mass. It's
just turning everything to what we I really knew what
we had and letting the world see it. So for me,
it was just finally the world's getting a chance to
see what we're really made out.
Speaker 8 (21:52):
Ralph, let me, let me, let me give you all
y'all flowers and say that there's been no group white
or black that is done with new addition is done ever,
not to me, not for us. There's never been a
group alive, past, present, or probably future that has been
a group broke up, all went platinum, came back again
and went platinum again.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Who ain't the only one? Literally? Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 8 (22:20):
So I just want to just put that out there,
like they've done something that is unprecedented.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Exactly.
Speaker 10 (22:27):
I would just say this, and Rizzo, you know, he's
always going to say it so eloquently because that's how
he speaks. But you know, Ralph's important. When he shows
up to do the show. It gives us a sense
of strength. When he walks through the door, it's like
Brady coming through the door.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Yes, it is what it is.
Speaker 10 (22:45):
And you know when Bob is hurting or his leg
and he's just like, let's go, I'll just stand over here.
He's like, basically, I can't do that, but I'm gonna
rock this bike and phone and that means everything to
the audience right when we're trying to make a decision.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
You know, big Bro Johnny Gill, he's.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
He's a heavy voice in our group.
Speaker 10 (23:06):
You know, he's older, he's wiser, he's not just a singer,
but he's a leader by conversation, and he keeps us
at a high standing. Just just something we're not accepting,
and that's just that. And in prayer, that's mister Ricky Bell.
Whenever we need to hear a good kind word, he'll
close the car. And that's so powerful to keep us together.
(23:30):
And of course, you know Bro over there when you
were speaking about the dance moves, it's because he makes
us read for excellence.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
And that's Ronnie.
Speaker 10 (23:38):
You know what I'm saying. When we want to just
go sit down and grab some water. Nah nah, let's
go two more times. And you see that in his
performance on stage. So I was just gonna say what
makes us tight with Ralph said, is everyone brings something
to the table. And I want to say it on
Breakfast Club because I don't know when we'll all be
back here together. Hold on, Michael, let me get to
(23:59):
your slab result before you finished. And Mike Slaughter is
the point.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
God. Thanks.
Speaker 18 (24:04):
He hands the ball to everybody. He carries the ball,
he knows the next play to make. He's thinking of
the next player to make, and he knows who to
deliver the ball to to make sure that we get
we scored the basket.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
You know what I'm saying. We win the game.
Speaker 10 (24:16):
Yep, thanks bro. And I want to say this because
it ain't over. But because of this guy. You know,
he's mature. When I met him, he was just ready
to sponge to get all the information. But if it
wasn't for Nate Morris, I would have never been to CEO.
He's seen something in me that I didn't see in myself.
(24:37):
So I always wanted to tell him. I tell him
in Texas, I tell him on the phone, but I'm
gonna say it to the world.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Thank you.
Speaker 10 (24:43):
He changed my life. He helped me see something I
didn't see. I was nineteen. I know my words in
Curson was heavy, but that's because I loved y'all. I
wanted y'all to be the best and I just wanted to.
Speaker 13 (25:01):
What did.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
He was the guy that kind of held the group together.
Speaker 7 (25:06):
He had you know, put everybody in different positions, and
at that point I felt like, you know, it's a
group that we look up to. I mean honestly, and
I mean I've never never told Mike, but I mean
he was he was my first hero in the music industry.
I mean that's pretty much what it was. So for me,
it was like, if he can do that for them,
you gotta be able to do it for us. So
(25:28):
that's crazy, like just idea. I thought there was gonna be.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Real quick.
Speaker 7 (25:40):
But I tell you this, here's the deal. We're gonna
have our conversation. We ain't straight, but we know we
ain't straight, and but we all know we're gonna go
get this money. We're gonna please these fans, and we're
gonna figure.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Out what we gotta do. Either we're gonna fix it
or we not. We all want to go out here
and do what That's a smart move. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah, Well, let me ask the question, Biff, if you
could go back and renegotiate that first deal with boys
and men with everything you know, now, what.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Would you do different? That's a good question.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
I think that's a good question.
Speaker 10 (26:18):
So honestly, I think some of those deals was something
that Gerald suggested. See, he's the one that said be
an executive. He said do a production, do publishing, do
or I didn't even think like that, you know what
I mean. And at the same choken he was totally
against it. He didn't really like boys to men, you know.
So I'm fighting for them to be heard and to
(26:41):
be seen. He helps him be structure stuff, and I
thought that it was a gamble. And the thing is like,
we never had a lawyer sit in the room with
us when we signed. It was just us and we
went through the paperwork and we just did it. The
good thing about it is it was successful, right, and
the record label, honestly, the record label needed a hit
(27:03):
to keep the light song.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
That we kept the light song. We did right.
Speaker 10 (27:07):
Even in all of that, what was the easier way
to do it was fifty to fifty. Now, remember and
their fifty is for them. In my fifty, there's one.
And so a lot of the stuff that might, you know,
look a little different later it is through success. So
a lot of that stuff there might have been the
things that made it look a little crazy, made it
(27:29):
feel a little.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Different, but I forget crazy.
Speaker 10 (27:32):
Yeah, But at the end of the day, what was
able to come out of it, and what was able
to do.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
We didn't fail, or we wouldn't be here.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
I was going to say, Mike and the fall that
was Joe was your mentor.
Speaker 9 (27:44):
And just like what you know we were talking about earlier,
about the other guys talking about us being their mentors.
And it's so funny because when you influenced or you're
being taught the game, you rocking with the game. You're
rocking with it and your learning as you go. But
I can say this in a nutshell. Listen, we all
have been through a journey, been through some ups and
downs and changes and turnarounds in our lives. And when
(28:07):
you look at where we are today, we're blessed. We're
all blessed and guess what, so what we had to
go through to get here. At the end of the day, here,
I'm not mad at anybody, because this is like looking
at God and smacking them in the face because you're
saying I'm mad that you took me through this to
get here towards right today.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
I'm grateful. And nobody has walked the road and that
has been easy, and that has been just that simple.
It doesn't work like that I agree.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
I agree totally. I agree, Johnny. But you know, under
the circumstances as human beings, you know what I mean. Emotions,
emotions need everything as human beings, you know, you you
have thought process. We have to respect the human in
each other because it might be easier for some people
to get over things than others, you know what I'm saying.
Like for me, you know, my getting over it is
(28:53):
very simple. I was the youngest and I lived in
the projects. This man saved my life. You understand, he
gave me an opportunity by the grace God, God saved
my life through bed. He gave us the opportunity. So
in my mind, he did what he was supposed to
do for me. It was up to me to go
the next to the next place. It was up to
us to do that, and we did. You know what
(29:14):
I mean, under the circumstance of forgiveness and all of
those things that a communication is everything, you know what
I mean, And it does not take away from the
fact that you guys are our heroes, our menus.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Be that way.
Speaker 7 (29:27):
And again, like I said, I don't I don't speak
much because I only want to speak bout stuff that
matters but in this case, like I said, you know,
we've been able to be where being the nucleus that
we've been for the last few years, and like wantshad,
we all just got into the room together for the
first time in a long time.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
And that's a feat in itself.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
I would say, even with whatever it might be, whatever
will handle or deal with whatever, it's a feat in itself.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
There's a lot of groups out here today.
Speaker 7 (29:56):
That you know, get emotional about things and don't know
how to handle business directly, right and the kids. You
handle business first, and then you handle your family stuff
in the back room and not on the internet in
the media. So that being said again, it ain't nothing
but love in this room. Whatever else we're gonna deal with,
we're doing to deal with us all.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
We got more with Boys two Men and no audition.
When we come back, it's the breakfast Club, Good morning.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
It's driving me out of my mind.
Speaker 6 (30:23):
That's why it's fun more me to fine Chicket out
of mind.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Tring Au miss.
Speaker 11 (30:37):
Like I said, the edition, tell me Boys to Men, bedd.
Speaker 17 (30:40):
Junky Kill Bobby Brothers show.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Yeah out of that freezing for the fact.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
I'm ready, I'm ready to stick you we.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Gotta go through trass. Let's go, girl, I must backstead.
Speaker 6 (31:00):
How you doing fin.
Speaker 9 (31:03):
Side?
Speaker 14 (31:04):
I can go out that action talk face.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
He kind of like, no, don't forget to stop.
Speaker 17 (31:10):
Yeah, solo, I go goded the body guys, Like I said,
this talk got so many hits, so many choices.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
I ain't got enough time.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Kick body braying up. It's talking all this stuff about me. No, no,
just save me, Ma.
Speaker 15 (31:46):
That's not log.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
The sny crazy. Come on, I really talk what you say?
Speaker 2 (31:55):
That's my backasis.
Speaker 13 (31:57):
So many joints like this, Mike mab I need to
go to the first show, Mike, wherever that first show is.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
I'm flying out in the white, flying out.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
One single long, keep that list whin it gets shook up.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Keep going, warning everybody, it's the j en Vy, just hilarious. Charlamagne,
(32:53):
the guy we are the Breakfast Club was still kicking
it with new addition and boys to men.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Charlemagne, are y'all.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Helping boys and men developed a biopic?
Speaker 1 (33:00):
I remember there was rumors of a Boy's Been biopick
at one time.
Speaker 8 (33:05):
I mean, we're still in the embryonic stages of it,
still trying to get things together because we want to
make sure that the story is told the right way,
because there are a lot of things that, by design,
we have not said. You know, there's been a lot
of things that's been mentioned about the group and said
about the group and things that nature that we just
kind of watched the last thing quiet, you know what
(33:25):
I'm saying, because when you see the people that are
actually saying it, you gotta always consider the source.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
And when and when you.
Speaker 8 (33:35):
See their positions and the lives they're living and things
that nature outside of all of the shock value of oh,
somebody said this. If you look a little deeper, you say, oh, okay,
that's why they said that.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Now. You know.
Speaker 8 (33:48):
The thing about the industry, though, is that everybody knows
everything about everybody. If I wanted to come on this
this radio show and talk about certain people, I know
I could because I know exactly what happened, who did it, the.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Whole nine yards.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
The issue is not us, though, you know what I mean,
It's the people.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
You know what I'm saying. Everyone has an opinion, you
know what I mean. They call us social media, but
there's nothing social about it at all, you know what
I mean. The thought process about it is when someone
says something about you, it's fine, especially if it's true.
I don't care. But I'm tired of people lying about us.
(34:30):
They lie about us, and we never say nothing. Well,
I got a messed up knee, I got three schools
in it, and I'm getting myself together.
Speaker 7 (34:41):
Before you go there, I want to give him an
example of how we don't say anything like people been
talking about our fourth member forever. Oh, y'all did this
to him. Y'all kicked him out, he was sick. Y'a
ain't give it about him. Y'all don't know the story,
and that's okay because we keep that in. But I
tell you one thing we've never done, we've never said
anything about him until the latter year, is to make
sure that man, if he's not here, he.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
Can have a career. Absolutely absolutely stomp on him.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
You don't do that.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
So we don't do that.
Speaker 7 (35:09):
That's not I mean, I'm the least social media guy
on the planet. Yes, yes, there's no need for I
don't live in that space, so there's no need to
go in there and deal with all the craziness because
we're gonna.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Handle our shouts.
Speaker 5 (35:18):
So when someone is doing that and telling stories like
literally fabricated stories. I feel like it's it's just felt
like time, you know, time to defend the integrity of
my group, of my fellas, myself, you know what I mean.
And look, I'm not gonna say boys to men. We
we was the cleanest on the planet earth. You know
(35:40):
what I'm saying. We did some stuff, you know what
I'm saying. A lot of people. You know, I'm pretty
sure we put some people off, you know what I mean.
And right, but at the end of the day, we
were trying to protect our brand. We were trying to
protect it. We didn't have Michael bibbins on over us
anymore to protect us. We didn't have cat little Rountree
he got mur that, you know what I'm saying. We
(36:01):
were trying to figure out all kinds of things managerial.
We have Michael Jackson and Prince telling us to know
your words and don't let nobody get.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Over on you.
Speaker 11 (36:09):
You know.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
So we we developed a ship.
Speaker 15 (36:13):
A ship.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
We started looking at everybody and like, oh, no, you're
not going to do this to us.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
You're not going to do this to us.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
So when they hear our voices, because we were so silent,
because everybody else was doing it for us. Now we're asks,
you know, to understand, just because we're in the studio
and we're working on a project does not mean that
we're going to be consorting. That's not what boys men do.
When we're in the studio, we work. We don't have
time to play games, you know what I'm saying, Because
we have a we have to please these fans, you know,
(36:40):
So when someone is saying, you know that we said
something as specific about a friend of ours.
Speaker 16 (36:52):
Come on, I saw you jump in the comments of
the question and say what you said. But so why
now even address that if you know it's not truly.
Speaker 5 (37:02):
Because I got time, I got a broke, messed up knee.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
I was sitting on the damn I was sitting on
the damn couch. I couldn't get up, I couldn't drive.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
I was watching cartoons and playing PlayStation.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
And I saw that and I said, hmm, this will
be fun. And guess what it was.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
It was very fun because I got a chance to
let the people who really cared on that page know
that it was a lie.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Man.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
You could choose to take it forever you want. I'm
just trying to figure out where it came from. I
never said anything derogatory about Chili. If you read the comments,
I said, I love those girls. I said, we have
history together. I'm just trying to figure out what happened.
I mean, we heard that Tian said after the past
of my thing, I ain't staying for this corny ass,
corny ass show. That's what you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
And I'm like, why, I love you.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
We love y'all.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Like the nostalgia.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
When we walk into the room, they jump into our
i mean, Chili used to jump into our arms.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
It's like, what's going on.
Speaker 10 (38:01):
At the end of the day, we were just gonna
sell some tickets because because to be honest with you,
this where we are and what we're trying to do.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
We trying to.
Speaker 10 (38:11):
Inspire absolutely, right, absolutely, And you guys, this movie is
gonna be a great movie. It's gonna be from your
point of view. Your fans are gonna love it, and
we just want them to come to this so they
could see us together because we've never done this absolutely,
you know. And this this is really our first interview.
So the Breakfast Club is really the first interview of
(38:32):
us all together.
Speaker 9 (38:35):
Can I just say to you guys and boys and man,
let me just say this and I'll shut up. But
I'm glad that you guys are telling your story because
in the world that we're living in now, with the
social media and everybody can get on there and say
what they want, ruin people's lives, ruin your reputation, they
can do a number of things.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
It is important. No, you can't fight the whole world.
Speaker 9 (38:53):
No, we'll never be able to change sometimes people no
matter whether it's the truth or not. But when it
comes from the horse his mouth and it's written in stone,
it can't be raised, can't be tell your story nothing
else at the end of the day, with your legacy.
Anybody wants to believe, whether they want to believe, that's all.
It's all well and fine, But it has come from
the horse's mouth directly in this.
Speaker 8 (39:14):
Yeah, it's so so the answer. Yes, we're working on
the biopic. Bib is definitely gonna put his input into
it and working on going to have you know what
I'm saying, because it's everybody's story, everybody every it's everybody's story.
But the stuff they want and everybody was touching on
man and people that were saying they corny a cornball.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
I can't wait, get your tickets. If you haven't got
your tickets yet. Talking about thirty thirty, I'm sure it's
gonna be more than that because it got so fast.
I'm just having grown folks.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
Got something to do.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Mann, no audition, boys and man, thank you for joining us.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
It's the Breakfast Club.
