Jack's sons love The Simpsons. While watching, Jack noticed that the show did something outrageous. They had an episode where the message was burn down the system because the rich are screwing us. Joe had to pick up his jaw after this one.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
So my kids are super into The Simpsons and we
watch it on Disney. I guess Disney has all the Simpsons.
So they've watched so many of the classic episodes over
and over again. And it's interesting to see that, like unprompted,
they gravitate towards some of the same episodes that I loved,
you know, mister Plow or whatever over the years. But

(00:21):
they've gone through them so many times, they're starting to
watch some of the newer ones, which they also unprompted
just say, aren't as funny the more recent seasons. There's
plenty of funny stuff. I mean, it's not completely without humor.
There are plenty of funny things that happen in the
newer seasons if you haven't watched The Simpsons in a while.
Like Carl and LENNI both have girlfriends, but their girlfriends

(00:42):
both look like the other guy, Like Carl's girlfriend looks
exactly like Lenny and vice versa, which is kind of funny.
That is, and the fact that they all have cell
phones and everything that goes with social media and all
that sort of stuff is kind of entertaining. Also, the
pig from the Simpsons movie makes a return. Like last
the pig had been living in the backyard the whole
time and becomes a thing, and Homer just wants to

(01:04):
keep the pig, and March wants to get rid of it,
and and so he decides to find a doctor or
who will write him a note for a comfort pig
so that he can take the pig. I love it,
spider pig anywhere he wants. I mean, he's pretty fider
pig spider exactly. But so I think the most recent episode,
episode from season thirty three, which was titled Poorhouse Rock,

(01:29):
was the name of the the the episode or whatever.
Here's just a little bit of it before I explain
it to you.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Oh, I'm not smart.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
I'm not to go get her. My drinking problem's not
getting better.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
What job could I possibly do?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Nuclear safety inspected? You're dad and his buddies had it
swell gradually, you.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Know, went to.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Unemployment with Spike here to explain it is Robert B.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Rerich did a climb of unions. Rampant corporate greed, Wall Street, Moutheasians,
and the rise short sighted politics all contributed to increased
economic inequality, widespread real unemployment waged that nation, and a
lower standard of living for millions of Americas.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
So you can stop it there.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Yes, if you are wondering were you're listening to a
Simpsons episode that featured Professor Robert Reich, mainstay of MSNBC
left wing progressive politics, with the orderline communist borderline communists
with a bunch of charts on The Simpsons. Yes, that
is exactly what happened, with all the MSNBC style, incredibly misleading.

(02:35):
I have a comeback for all of his stats. Why
the middle class is dead and being screwed by the
rich and it's never coming back, and all this different
sort of stuff on The Simpsons in musical form. Wow.
And even worse than that. That made me so angry,
and my kids didn't understand the episode at all. They

(02:57):
wanted to turn it off. I said, no, no, I want
to see this, and then I got into a rant
and explained it to him and they probably wish they'd
never brought it up. But at the end of it,
so this janitor characters talking to Bart and explaining to
him how the world has gone to hell and you
can't make a living like your dad used to her whatever,
and he said, the only thing you can do now
with bart is burn it down? And bart' says cool,

(03:20):
and he gets out a lighter and he said, no,
that's a metaphor. I mean the system burned down the system.
And then it just says the end. Wow, that's not funny.
Holy crap, My eyes are as wide as pie plates.
The Simpsons did in an episode that the point was
burned down the current system because the rich are screwing
the middle class. Critical Simpsons theory unbelievable.
