Speaker 1 (00:00):
So the backlash has begun, such as it is from
various activists. Uh. For instance, here's athlete Ally, an advocacy
advocacy group for trans people's inclusion sports. Quote. Phena's new
eligibility criteria for transgender athletes and athletes with intersex variations
is discriminatory, harmful, unscientific, and not in line with IOC principle.

(00:21):
Wait a minute, unscientific. That is a claim that is
diametrically opposed to reality. Just ridiculous. Human Rights Campaign interim
president Joony Madison said this sudden and discriminatory decision is
a blatant attack on transgender athletes who have worked to
comply with long standing policies. Well they're the wrong policies, dear.

(00:43):
This policy is an example of swim organizations carving to
an avalanche of ill informed, prejudiced attacks targeted one particular
transgender swimmer. That's absurd, let's see. Went on to say,
to the young athletes who may be disheartened by this policy,
know that we know and believe every young person deserves
to be treated with dignity and respect. Well, wait a minute,

(01:05):
everybody thinks that, and that transgender kids like their friends,
deserve the same chances to learn sportsmanship, self discipline, and teamwork.
Wait a minute, everybody agrees with that too. When you
can do that on the women's team or any team
and build a sense of belonging with their peers, nobody's
against that. You know what we're against, a sweetheart, is
people with biologically male bodies whooping up on women and

(01:27):
women's sports. Now interesting, it's also just unsustainable. It's just there.
It can't keep going. I would think everyone would recognize that. Yeah,
well you would think that. And yet the radical gender
theory people have so penetrated our schools and universities. They

(01:48):
have recruited a cabbala people. It's so brainwashed. The obvious
doesn't even disturb their fantasies. The undeniable doesn't even get
on the radar screen, which is a little bit scary,
again given how much sway they have in America's educational system.
But anyway, in the wake of the FIFA ruling, um,

(02:09):
I'm sorry if the FENA ruling, the World Soccer or
do you call it football governing body FIFA and World
Athletics set on Monday that they are reviewing their transgender
eligibility policies after swimming past new rules that restrict transgender
participation in women's events. In other words, all of the
less courageous International Sports Federation said, oh, thank god, oh

(02:32):
thank god, good, quick, quick, go ahead, We'll pass this stuff.
We've been talking about for a long time. We've got cover.
FENA did it first because they know what everybody's clearly as.
FENA did what clearly has to happen. Um. Meanwhile, let
me skip down here because we're running out of time.
The World Rugby Association, I can't find it now. I

(02:55):
have oh, rugby League's governing body band transgender athletes from
peating into international matches while the organization conducts further research
into the quote unquote perceived risk to other players. You
ever seen a big, hulking, transgender, biological male compete against
women in rugby. It's ugly. It's like one of those
horrifying internet videos where you see a woman beaten. It's

(03:17):
it's terrible to watch. And they're talking about open categories.
Blah blah blah. All Oh Sebastian, co president of World Athletics,
told the BBC that the organization's council would discuss the
regulations At the end of the year, Co praised Fena
for taking the decision, which has been criticized by trans
rights advocates. Um, what did he say? This is as

(03:40):
it should be. We've always believed that biology trump's so
called gender, and we will continue to review our regulations
in line with this. We will follow the science folks.
Once in a while, I start to think sanity might
be making a comeback. Let's hope, at least internationally, that
it is strong and Jetty

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
