Speaker 2 (01:36):
Call me.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
We're talking about anything you want. Melissa is in fair Haven. Hi, Melissa, Hi,
how are you all. I'm so excited to talk to
you first time caller.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
I am a first time caller. I listen to y'all. Honestly,
you give me life, like the humor. I need to
give a shout out because this last year and half
has been just horrific for me and honestly, some days
the only thing that gets me through is your antics

(02:08):
well and just everything.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
You're gonna make me choke up. That's amazing. I'm so
sorry that you went through some terrible times. You sound
like you're coming out of it though. You sound better.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
Oh that's faken today.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Girl.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
No, it's good. It's getting worse. Oh no, but it's
all you can do is just hope that things will
get better.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Yes, hope is yes, I hope that for you. I
obviously do you know. I feel like it's not often
that we find something that can make us laugh, like
literally out loud. So I hope that we do that
for you and you do. Hope you get through your day.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Go.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Do you listen Live in the morning while you're driving
to work? Are you a podcast?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Girly?

Speaker 6 (02:50):
I listened to you Live while I'm driving to work
or when I work from home sometimes too, so I'll
listen to you. I can listen you at home, even
if I'm on a zoom meeting.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
I'll just new people.

Speaker 7 (03:00):
And that's what they get because they're boring.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
I'm just like, oh, I got to go over.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
A black screen.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
You know.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
She's like, give me a second. Santi is talking about
being in a sleeping bag with another man.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Need a second.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
Yeah, I just constantly wait for Santy to be shanked
by someone.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah. Yeah, I'm with you. She really she doesn't need
to she really listens.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
He needs to be careful.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
I stand with you, Melissa, I believe you never know,
you really don't.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
You don't.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Well listen, I know you know forun kind of told
me that some of the stuff you're going through our
medical issues. So if you ever need anything and you
need to just vent and yell and scream, you know
where you can call and we'll be thinking about you.
And like I said, hopefully we can just distract you
a little bit.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Well, you do, and thank you.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
And sometimes I don't think that enough people just go
out into the world and spread kindness, and so I
think that's something I think that you don't realize y'all
do on the show, And so it just props for
spreading kindness and joy in such dark times, you know.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Meliss, Well, thank you so much for that. Big hug
to you.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
All right, thank you have a great day.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah you too. That was extremely nice.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I was telling you this that like these days, I might,
you know, write lol, but I'm probably not laughing out loud.
I might watch a show and be like, oh, this
show is so funny, but I'm not like audibly laughing.
It takes a lot to get me to really laugh.
The show makes me laugh, The show Shrinked makes me
laugh out loud like it. But again it's not I

(04:47):
can't list like a thousand things that I'm watching or
listening to or you know that I used to entertain
myself that I really genuinely make me laugh. So I
when people call and say that they think the show
is funny and we make them laugh out, that makes
me feel good.

Speaker 8 (05:00):
I also think there's a lot of people in our
business who do their job. They are on the air
for their own indulgence and to make themselves feel popular
and famous. I think we do it for that purpose
there for people like that. We do it for the listen.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
We do it for all of them, because I know,
driving to work every morning, you're just like another day,
gotta go do it, you know, punch the clock, and
I get it. So hopefully we can distract you a
little bit like Melissa seb Let's talk to Lauren.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Lauren is in manch Hi.

Speaker 9 (05:29):
Laura, I'm Ashley. How are you say?

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I'm good? Listen.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
We don't hear a lot of nice things about Manchester,
Forred's always talking bad about it, although hey, he did
just buy hous there make it make sense what's going
on in Manch Well?

Speaker 9 (05:44):
Last time I call you, I wanted to tell you
about my surprise twins. I told Forren, but there was
so much going on prior to me, and you're talking
that like you were just so baffled with the previous conversations.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I don't remember, So what is what filled me in?

Speaker 9 (06:01):
So? The day before I had my twins, I thought
it was only having one baby. So I went in,
I hit uty I symptoms, you know, they did a
full work up and they're like, hey, there's actually a
second baby in there.

Speaker 10 (06:16):
Wow, yes, yes, yeah.

Speaker 9 (06:20):
So the next day, thirty hours later, I had them.
You know, they're a little over five months now. You know,
they're just thriving. You know, they're all both of different
milestones once trying to sit up, and yeah, it's just crazy.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
It's crazy world. If that's that's nuts.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
You hear stories about that, like I had twins and
I didn't know, and you're like, shut up, you knew.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
But that's how don't you know? Because don't you do
an ultrasound and they can tell that the one was hiding.

Speaker 9 (06:49):
No, So, as a full foreign I didn't qualify for
insurance and and I didn't have enough money to pay
like three hundred dollars a month plus the regranted doctorble
So I just kind of just stood at home, did
my own blood pressures. My blood sugarts were good, so
it's kind of just waned it and if I had
like any answers, I went in, which I didn't until

(07:09):
like that's literally the day before.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
I had THO.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
You know what, there were insurance issues. Luigi was trying
to take care of that, trying to help you.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah, yeah, all right, Laura, Well, thank you. And uh,
five month old, it's it's the best age little daisies
five months old too, it is. I remember with Laila,
thanks for the call, thinking that six months was the
best and we're coming up on six months.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
But it's all great.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Each stage is differences, but I think it gets better though.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Yeah I do too.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Six one seven nine four five. That is six one
seven nine three. You're on hold. Don't go anywhere. We're
checking in on you, your life, your world. That's checking
only on jam in ninety four to five. Come morning, Hi, everybody,
Good morning. It is Ashley in the gym in the
Morning Show. We're checking in on you.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
What is all? Paula is in Randolph.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Hi, Paula, Hey as Hollow you, I'm good.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
How are you.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Good? Oh my gosh, I had to call you back.
I was a girl that called you when we were
at seaport and I called your name. Oh the Ash.
Oh my god, you are so beute. I guess you
were you and the fire man.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Oh my god, yes, I think I was. Uh, yeah, yeah,
it was.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Oh my god, it's the first time that I've met you.

Speaker 9 (08:21):
Oh my god, You're a beautiful ash.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Oh, thank you.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
I love you. Yeah, it was. Uh, it was Friday night.
I was hosting the tree lighting for the seaport and
I definitely was. I was dulled up. You caught me
on a good day, hair and makeup done.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Yes, and I and I asked for Santi, Hi, Santi.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Hi, Paula, how are you?

Speaker 4 (08:41):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Hi?

Speaker 4 (08:42):
D Jay forrene up. I just want to send positive vibes.
And I say that I listened to that every morning,
and you go, I love you guys.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
All right, baby, we love you too.

Speaker 6 (08:54):
Thank you for the way to work.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Thank you, I love you.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I love you.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
You know.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
It's it's a love fest today for the show.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
And I appreciate that, but I don't I will say this,
and I will die on this hill, and I will
say it over and over again. There's no better compliment
for us, really than saying that you listen to the
show every day, or that you listen to the show,
because there are a lot of other morning shows in
Boston and a lot of other good ones, you know,
so I I know you have options, and it is

(09:22):
really heartwarming to hear.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
That you chose us. Mikayla is in Derry.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Hi, Michayla, Hi, Oh my gosh, Hi, Oh my god,
Hi Hi.

Speaker 10 (09:33):
I didn't think I would get on.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
You're on, baby up.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
I just have a.

Speaker 10 (09:38):
Couple of questions for you guys, because I'm always so interested,
just like wondering how people get to kind of.

Speaker 9 (09:43):
Where they are.

Speaker 10 (09:45):
So I was wondering on your guys's backgrounds. I know
you went to Northeastern and everything, which is kind of
how you guys got into the radio station industry.

Speaker 8 (09:54):
God Son, I went to Endicott College, and at that
college they make All Star baseball and they make us internship.
So my first internship was here at the radio station.
June fifth of two thousand was my very first day.
I started interning with Balto's arm pebbles and I pretty
much stay here for fifteen years. But I think I
initially wanted to get into the entertainment field, not so

(10:15):
much radio. But once I got to radio, I truly
enjoyed the entertainment part of it.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
So yeah, and he almost hit you with his stutter
right there, and he walked out.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
He clocked out of that right before the start of it.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
So I I, like you said, Winson Northeastern and I
was a communications major with a concentration in media. So
I started in radio doing color commentary for the men's
basketball team. That was like my first taste of radio.
Then when I had graduated, I went on this little
show called The Real World on MTV and I got

(10:50):
my first big girl radio job.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeay.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
So my boss, my first radio job was in Saint Louis,
and my boss in Saint Louis shout out to Dave
he had seen on the Real World.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
He called.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
He was like, too, when I come to Saint Louis,
an audition I did, and that is how I got
my very first radio job.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Cool and what about for it?

Speaker 7 (11:10):
I started Actually my whole career. I think it's been
on jamming now that I'm thinking about it. But it
started off I used to be part of a DJ crew.
Shots to Roy bo bozol Man. You used to have
this crew called the forty five forty five crew, and
Roy used to be on the air all the time
and he brought us in every I would say, like
one or two three times a month. So I was
DJ maybe on air one hour for every three months.
And then after that that progressed to doing every weekend weekends,

(11:33):
became hosting. Then I got my own weekend gig. Then
I started covering for people, and then eventually, you know,
once the morning show opportunity showed up. You know, here
we are locked in for the last four years. So
I didn't go to school. My thing was was was
definitely you know, backdoored into the station and MICHAELA.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
I had had just a few interactions with Foreign and
when I told our boss, now, I said, this is
I have to it's Santi or I'm not doing it.
When they asked me if I wanted to do the
morning show, so then Santy came and Santi's well who else?
So then I had I had told you about Foreign,
and I was like, you know, I've had a few
interactions with him, and I think he'd be a really
good you know, mixed with the two of us and

(12:09):
we're crazy. And then that's kind of how this show. Yeah,
this show happened because I listen. It doesn't happen often
in the radio world. It was my first time, but
I got to literally pick the show. I got to
pick who I wanted on the show. I've been on
many shows where they just tell you, like, this is
who you are going to be doing the show.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
What those Some of them work out, some of them don't.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Most of them don't because it's just an awkward yeah combo.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
Yeah right, that's the perfect trio.

Speaker 9 (12:33):
I love you guys.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
You guys are so funny.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Thanks Mikayla. We appreciate that, and thanks for listening.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
I always I always forget what stuff like people know
or they don't know, and a lot we might probably
once a week get a call about you getting fired
from here.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
But but you've told the story million times, but we
get that.

Speaker 8 (12:51):
Yeah, But I had to go work at another place.
When I worked that worked with an absolute lunatic of
a man, and that was like seven months of hell.
This guy was melting down every single day. So to
my point, is like, it doesn't work out like this
often because most of the time it's craziness and a fun.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Fact for everybody about this show, which is interesting because
she's not like this usually and she doesn't usually you know,
push herself onto people.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
But our boss at the time.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Because our direct boss now is pub Pop got you know, promoted.
But at the time it was Dylan, and Dylan had
asked me to go. He wanted to take me off
for lunch somewhere fancy. This was before I knew I
was getting the mornings, and I of course told him
I wanted to go to Chick fil at the Burlington Mall.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
He still brings that up.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
She's like, that's like really, And as I was leaving
at the time, AJ was working at the front desk,
and I said, my heart was like beating for the chest.
Of course, I thought I was going to be fired
at Chick fil A. Like I was like, oh, he's really,
He's feeding me to fire me, and she's like, I
don't know why, but I just feel like he's going
to offer you mornings. And I would just like to
say that if he does offer you mornings, I would

(13:56):
really like to be a part of that and mind
Josh said, but who are you? She's not like that, really,
she doesn't do stuff like that. And I was like,
there's no possible way.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
It's mornings.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
But yeah, if if it is, like we'll have the
chat and then now here's the four of us.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Are it's it is? Yeah, let's get it. There's two
of you. That's to a boss, which why not Jesus went.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
It went from like a nice warm thing to like,
now it's an orgy with.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Gods.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Just so you that did not have does not happen
on the daily. It doesn't
