Speaker 1 (00:00):
Backstage Hot ninetynine five jingle Ball Present by Capital One
with Gracie Abrams. Hey girls, Hey girl, are you doing
I'm well?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
How are you guys doing well?
Speaker 1 (00:08):
You're twenty twenty four? Crazy? Right? Did arenas did s
and l did stadiums? What do we do in twenty
twenty five? Take a nap?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Take a long nap? No, no naps? Sleep when you're
dad type? I love us happy we're not.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
But do you have plans? I mean, I know you not?
Some dates for a tour next year? Do we think there's.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Gonna be I mean we're touring like pretty much all
next year, starting the first week of February. So it's
it's go time, non stop really and just writing a
lot of music as much as I want that.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
The album full of bangers, blow and Smoke my favorite
breakup song of all time?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
What that is such a compliment? Thank you?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Okay, aside from your own songs? What's the best breakup
song of all time?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I Can't Make You Love Me?
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Yeah? Okay, yeah, okay, sure, okay. I mean I think
the whole album is sick, right, So writing songs very
vulnerable thing. I'm sure you probably feel like nobody knows
what I'm going through, and then you put the song out,
you get in stage, everybody's singing it back to you.
Does it make you feel kind of like one with
the audience in a way completely?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
I think it's like the thing that I've you know,
I value the most now doing this job, which doesn't
ever feel like a job, but like being able to
find community with people that you don't know personally, but
all of a sudden, you like realize that we've all
gone through the same shit, you know what I mean.
And it's a really magical gift that my audience has
given me over the past few years, and I think
especially honestly, this run of jingle ball shows has been
(01:34):
so wildly loud that I have felt it almost more
than ever before, just in the past few weeks.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
So it's a real privilege to be here with them
and with all of you.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Well, it's gotta be cool to seeing like little girls
singing back like you are like their idole. That's guy,
your really cool feeling.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I know what it feels like to be a young
girl and have like the biggest feelings in the world.
So I feel, you know, honored that they feel safe
enough to express themselves out of our shows.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Speaking of feelings, what do we feel about gift cards
for Christmas?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Gift cards to a place in general?
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah, or Amazon or whatever it is.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
It can be the right thing for the right person.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
I would say, like I was just you can get
like you can get it a gift card that isn't
like a throwaway gift.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Do you think I think the food ones? Yeah, let
me ask what's your most embarrassing food delivery order? And
we on judge here because we get taco bell past
midnight and it's sad.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Most embarrassing food delivery or I feel like I've postmated
like cereal boxes from grocery stores before, and that's like
an unnecessary mood, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
But I don't know. I don't know what's embarrassing. What
do we get?
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I'll put notes like it's for a family of four?
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Oh wow, Yeah, I've ordered room service and they're like,
for how many people?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I'm like three. It's like no, they bring like three yeah,
three forks and I'm like, no, one of me.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Bartiyah. Is it hard to turn it off? Because I
imagine obviously you're very talented musically you have a hard
time turned off and like, Okay, let's not write, let's
not record there, let's just do something else.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
I feel like I get a little bit restless quite easily.
But I was just thinking about this over Christmas break
because I'm like, We've got like a handful of days
with no work, and I'm like, how well I already
started getting the like anticipatory restlessness. But I think I'm
just trying to like fill my time with things that
are creative outlets that are not.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Me, just to like as a challenge to myself. I'm like,
what does it.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Look like to do things that are like generative that
is not touring or writing music, and just to see.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
But I'll keep you posted.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Talk with Gracy Adams. A final question, what's the most
proud gift you've given somebody where not even like money wise,
but I nailed this one.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
My ex boyfriend.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I got him like a rep like a miniature replica
of the studio that like we made like that he
makes everything out that we made all our music together,
and it was like to the tiniest details, so sick.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Great gift to thank you so much for being here,
thank you for having
