Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, well right now we are at jingle Ball
with the star to Nashe, what's that?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
To Nash Good, what's up? I mean, we're here, we here.
I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
I was telling somebody the other day I was at
your twenty first birthday party my Goodness in New York,
Like yeah, but I was like, you know, that day
that I came out, I had interviewed you, I think
earlier we did an event together and they were like,
Tanashe's birthday. I was like, you know what, I really
enjoyed you so much back then.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
I was like, I think I kind of remember that
was there like a fish tank.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
We were, it was outside, it was like a rooftop
type of situation. So I was like, I'm going outside,
I'm celebrating to Nashe. So I love to see you
in this position now, like really empowering and taking charge
of your career.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
How do you feel? I mean, it's been so much fun.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
I've just been able to make the art that I
want to make and do what I want to do,
and I feel like the audience has really responded really
well to that, and it's just been a really fun year.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Now you are an Aquarius, right, so your birthday's coming up. Yeah,
it's coming up. What's the plan? I don't have a
plan so long this year.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
I'm like, I don't like to plan things birthday. I
want people to plan things for me.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Are they you think you think there's some surprises? You're not,
because my birthday's coming up till my capricorn. Okay, so
you know you can tell first.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah. You know, people are like trying to plot and
do things.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
So if people are listening and they're trying to plan
a surprise, what would you enjoy.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
You know, like a little spa day, a little you know,
I want to be on the beach. I want to
be somewhere warm. I want to Yeah, I want to
be pampered. Okay, yeah, but you know the ideal you've
been doing your own thing.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Now, how does that feel, because that has to be empowering,
you know, being signed to a major label and then
taking control, but not just taking control, but blowing up
even more.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
How do you feel?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, I mean not that it's very fulfilling. It just
it's a great feeling to know that taking a chance
on yourself and be able to like control your own
business and be the boss of your own thing is
really paid off for me, and I just really enjoy
the freedom and the creative freedom as well.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
So but you know, what I always think too, is
that you started off when you were really young and
now you're an adult.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Sometimes it's hard for people to see you like they saw.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
You you were kind of a kid, and then now
you're an adult and they're like, okay, across that line.
Very sexy, but yeah, I love it obviously nasty. So
how is that just trying to balance that, Like the fans,
the people that knew you, but then they're like, look
at a nasty're all grown up.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, I mean, I think it's it's a journey, you know,
when I first came onto the scene to now, I
feel like I've grown with my fans and evolved with
the public. So it's really fun to be able to
kind of see the trajectory of how the audience has changed,
how I've changed, and yeah, kind of just kind of
change with us all. You know.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well, you know what's great is that you are not
just a singer, but you're a dancer, You're an actress,
like you do it all, but also a producer.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
What else is on the bucket list. Oh, let's see.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
I mean I like to like have direction, so maybe
like directing, like creative directing. I have a lot of ideas,
got a lot of concepts. Definitely getting more into like
fashion and putting out my own designs and things like that.
I think that would be really fun. But I just
like to create. I like to make something out of nothing.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
And then the tour, Yeah, talk to me about that,
like how things have progressed during the tour, what you've
been seeing, how you've been feeling, because honestly, Quantum Baby
people love that project. You know, I'm in Brooklyn and
I saw you were performing in Brooklyn. I have seen
your name sold out to Nache's show, you know, all
of these shows, and you're doing this like really, it's you.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
It's not like a you know, big machine behind you.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
So totally.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
The New York show was one of my absolute favorites
of this last tour, the match my Freak tour.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
It was so much fun.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Just seeing everyone come out and being able to share
that energy with them was just top tier, top tier.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
So much fun. I'm going to Australia next. All right,
what's too Freaky for you too freaky.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Has anybody ever said something and you're like, ooh, that
might be overmatching my free I.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Don't know, maybe I don't get to go off the
top of my head, but I'm sure there's been some instances,
you know, but match my freak is really kind of
meeting me where I'm at, you know, so it's kind
of like whatever whatever day to day, I'm kind of feeling.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Okay, what's a red flat for you? A red flag.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Somebody who is like not kind to like service workers,
like people like waiters, waitresses, people like at the front desk,
get like a hotel or something like that, Like if
you're rude to them, it's like why, you know, okay, I.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Agree with you on that because it's kind of like
you're supposed to treat everybody well, no matter what position
they're in. Totally yeah, yeah, and you seem like that
type of person. You always get a stupit till kind
to everybody. So you feel like there's been times that
people haven't treated you well and you're like, oh, yeah,
of course, and now it's like circle to back.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
It's sorry, yeah, no, for sure, but I think you
know that's part of just paying your dues. In this industry,
there's always going to be people that don't necessarily treat
you with the respect that you think that you deserve.
And I think that over the years, I've really kind
of grown to show that I'm here to stay and
people are a lot cooler.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Now, Now, before you hit that stage, when is it
theird part of this trilogy coming out?
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Next year, next year. I don't know why, I don't
know what exactly, but twenty twenty five for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
How much is done, I'm trying to get the tea guys.
Not that much.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Well, okay, there, I would say there's like maybe thirty
to forty percent that is done on paper. But I
feel like when I go on tour and I kind
of have the energy of the audience, I really kind
of evolve what I want to do and what I
want to put out. So I'm changing it in real time,
so low key. When I get back in the studio,
like in January, I think I might just kind of
rework it and do something completely different.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
All right, Well, we're looking forward to that. We're looking
forward to you hitting that stage. It's Jingle Batinas. It's
always a pleasure to see you it's amazing,
