Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello everyone, and welcome back to Bending the Edge here
on Fox Sports The Gambler. Just under a week until
the twenty twenty five NFL Draft. Nick, you and I
were talking about yesterday, snuck up on us. It's usually
I feel like a week later, usually around like the
twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty ninth or something like that.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Snuck cup up.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Snuck up on us a little bit this year, but
it's an under week away.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
We've covered all the position groups.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
We talked some sleepers last night, and now tonight we're
joined by Mark Henry Junior for our mock draft two
point zero and where we're gonna go. Nick's gonna start
with the Titans at one. Mark's gonna have the Browns
at two, of the Giants at three, and we'll follow
that order down. But in the past mock draft that
we did, we did what we think would happen. Now
we're doing if we were in the GM's shoes what
(00:45):
we would do. So Nick, if you're the Titans GM,
what would you do? Browns for Mark, Giants for me?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
And so on.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
But Mark, welcome, good to have you on and ready
to talk some draft tonight.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah, week away from the best night of the year.
In my opinion, I love March Madness. I love a
lot of events on the sports calendar, the NFL drafts,
my Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
I love this stuff so can't wait to get started.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
I think it's I don't think it's a good draft class,
but I think it's an interesting draft class.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
So you could go both ways.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
Yeah, I think this is this is a draft where
you just fill in spots, you fill in depth. You
don't really see too many guys in this class, or
at least you look at this class, you don't see
too many guys that are going to come into a
franchise and completely change it. So I think this is
a class where you just go depth, go whatever you need,
plug your holes in, and that's pretty much what this
(01:34):
class is.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, and Mark Nick and I think what we've hammered
home the most throughout this kind of it's like, be
prepared to be surprised throughout this draft. Like I told
you guys earlier, I read a mock draft, very unrealistic,
I thought, but it had Luther Burden and Jack Besh going.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
In the top ten of the draft.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Like if that happened, then there's gonna be some some
wide eyes. But everyone's position groups are going to be different.
The mock drouts, I think after you know, the first
three or four picks maybe get thrown out the window.
But that should make for a fun night, an interesting night,
not a lot of chalk, and it should be fun.
But Nick will start it off with you at number
one with the Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
You're on the clock.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
It seems like cam Ward is the pick there consensusly,
if you were in the GM's shoes, is that is
that the player that you'd be taking in the spot.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Obviously, the Titans are in need of a quarterback. They
were twenty seventh in points per game this last season.
The Englis scored eighteen in game, twenty seventh in passing
yards one ninety, and only twenty two passing touchdowns. But
I just don't think cam Word is the guy to
come in here and make a you know, drastic change
in this offense or even in this franchise. So if
(02:44):
it's me, I'm going at Dull Carter here. I think
he's the best player in the draft. So I'm gonna
go at Dull Carter. I think he's someone that can
be a future all pro, a future Defensive Player of
the Year. Titans were twenty eighth in PFF pass rushing
grade last season and they just lost Harol Landry. They
only had thirty two sacks last year. I think Carter
can come in to a defense and completely change a
(03:06):
defensive system. So for me, I would go, Titans, here,
work your magic next year in the draft. Maybe get
Arch next year, stick out Will Levis one more year,
see what you got with him. But I think Carter
is the best player in the draft. And if they
were talking generational talent like they were right when the
season ended, I think this is the guy you go to.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Yeah, I totally agree with that, totally agree with that logic. Yeah,
I mean, I'm not a Camward guy. I have him
outside of my top thirty five overall, just on my
big board.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
So him going one seems crazy to me. I get it.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
You know, there's a team at the top that needs
a quarterback, you go take whoever you think the best
quarterback is. Generally, and I think that there's some GM
and head coach preservation methods there, trying to keep yourself alive.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
But if you were just a GM who knew you weren't.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Getting get fired based on pick, you'd go and get
the best guy available, and you could make a really
strong case that that's abdual Carter. I think you can
make a case for a couple of the guys at
the top, but Abdul Carter is probably where I'd go
if I was Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah, I think I'm right there with you guys.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
I think I'm a little bit higher on Kim more
than both you guys, and the quarterback obviously is the
major position of need.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
On that team.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
But I'm there with you Nick as well, and Mark
obviously too, in the sense that I don't know if
he's going to come in and ever be a top
ten to twelve quarterback in the league. I think he's
going to be a good player. I think he's gonna
be an average player, But changing a franchise.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I don't really think that.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
If I was the Titans, I would probably even look
the trade down if there was one of these teams
that were interested in cam Ward potentially going up. But
you know all the the betting markets and everything you've
heard it, it sounds like it's a slam duck at
this point. Would be a shocker if they didn't go
that way. But we go to pick number two, the
Cleveland Browns are on the clock. Mark your first selection
as GM, Andrew Berry will.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Be Yeah, and it's gonna be an issue because I'm
not gonna draft cam Ward, So where the heck are
you gonna go? Ryan's gonna have to take him in
one of these slots, I think if he's got a
QB needy team. But this is, like we mentioned, prepared
to be surprised. This isn't gonna happen this early in
the draft, that a guy going this high that's not
expected to go this high. But my number one overall
(05:19):
player is Will Johnson from Michigan, the cornerback. I'm in
love with this guy. I'm obsessed with with player comps.
As you guys know, cam Ward's actually one of the
guys who I've really struggled to find one for, and
Will Johnson's one that I'm usually scared to comp a
guy to such a great player, but he's got so
much Patrick certain and I think he's the best player
(05:41):
in the world at that position right now, so it's
tough to make that comparison. But I'd be shocked if
Will Johnson doesn't turn into a top twenty, top twenty
five corner in the league pretty fast right here, and
I think he's probably gonna go probably more in that
eleven to sixteen range as opposed to all the way
up here. But he's my number one overall guy in
(06:03):
nine picks in three years three Pick six is long, arms,
six two, great and pressed. I think he can do man.
I think he could play zone. He basically seal the
Natty a couple of years ago with a pick on Pennix.
I think he's just a special player in a class
where I don't know how many special players there are.
And I think if he would have got a chance
to play the full year last year, we might be
talking about him going to side.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
The thing I've been hearing about Will Johnson at least
in the past couple of weeks that some of the
analysts are and they don't know if he's fully healthy
because there's rumors coming out about he's running like a
four five eight for six, and that would obviously be concerning.
I know Mickshay said the best he's at his best
when he's able to kind of just eyes in the backfield,
play with his back to the defense, when he's forced
(06:49):
to turn him run.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
That's kind of one of the flaws in his game
that I've heard about.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
That obviously he could concern some people, but I agree
when you turn on the tape, especially two years ago,
I think I think he let it up. So if
he was able to go there to the Browns, he
prepare him with Ward to throw Newsome in there. Questionable
if they're gonna bring him back or not. But that's
a nice defensive backfield that they're working with.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, I mean it's probably gonna be Hunter. It's probably
gonna be Travis Hunter. It looks like so they're looking
at a corner as well. If it's if we're just
talking corner, I do think Johnson's a better prospect.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
There's some concerns about that speed thing.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I think that's all just going on with whatever this
hamstring injury is right now. He had that he picked
up a handy right before the combine and it's why
he didn't work out. I think he's probably just dealing
with a weird hamstring injury that's only been lingering for
about a month month and a half, So I'm hopeful
that that won't matter by the time we get to
to kind of play time. Maybe there's a chance that
(07:43):
he's an injury risk guy. He had a turf toe
that ended his year last year, had a hamstring this year.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
I think he had a shoulder a couple years ago.
They didn't miss time with but.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
He hasn't missed time outside of last season, So there
are those concerns. I know Shane Half was talking about
that last night on our show, but I'm just I'm
all in.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
And also that with the speed with him, you look
at the tape, he doesn't play like a four or
five runner. He can track down guys if he gets beat.
He has that good recovery speed too, and with the physicality,
I think he's easily a top I think I have
him as my seventh best player. Easily a top ten player,
And like you said, I do see him the realistic way.
I think he goes around the ten eleven spots on
(08:24):
with you in that mark.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yeah, all right, We move on to number three, the
New York Giants, my first selection. You know, could this
be a spot where Kim Wore goes potentially, but it's
also a spot where it's like, I think there's immense
pressure on Brian Dable and Joe Shane to go out
there and win.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Now, is cam Ward really going.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
To be that much better than Ross and Jamis Winston
from day one? That helps them, you know, secure their job.
And I think they need to at least be a
five hundred team for those guys to be able to
come back next year.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
I think when you look at the defense, they've got
some nice pieces. Let's continue to add to that.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
We'll go Travis Hunter here, and obviously we can play
him on the offensive side of the ball as well.
Just the real interesting thing with me is going to
be this Travis Hunter speaking out about wanting to play both.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Ways and saying, you know, I'm not going to play
I doubt that's true.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
But if he's going to be throwing fits that he's
not playing on both ends of the ball, is that
is that causing some trouble or really, how much are
they going to play him on both sides of the ball,
because I still don't think it's physically possible to make
it through the whole NFL season playing you know, ninety
five percent of the snaps on each side, So that's
gonna be I think the main storyline kind of the
track throughout this draft and throughout this offseason.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
But give me Travis Hunter. There Giants and needed.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Some offensive weapons as well, and obviously he's got the
ability to be a shutdown corner going forward.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Yeah, if he drops down there to tow three, I
think it's pretty much penciling in.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
It's going to be Hunter.
Speaker 5 (09:48):
You signed Russell Wilson, you signed Jamis Winston to those contracts.
I don't think you signed them too. I know they're
not you know, long term guys obviously, but you don't
sign those two to two contracts if you're going into
this thinking you're to get quarterbacks. So if Travis hunters
there and they don't take them, especially with what happened
that at the all season of last season, he's looking
(10:08):
to get fired instantly.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Yeah, I think Hunter is.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
I'm actually more open to him playing a lot both ways.
I think I'm just he wants to be football O Tommy,
and he is. He thinks it's part of his identity
and part of his marketability as this kind of different star.
And maybe if he doesn't, he doesn't necessarily have to
put up the eye popping stats to be the star
that he is.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
If he plays both ways, too.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
I think that they if you are going to take
him this high, I think that's part of the value,
is the fact that he can.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Fill two holes partially.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
And even if you want to take him off the
field and only play him eighty percent of the snaps
on defense, so you can play him half the snaps
on offense or whatever that kind of football calculus is.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
And if he's.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Saying, you know, he's only he's only going to do it,
I think you have to let him until well, he's
the one who kind of tires himself out or he
picks up injuries and starts having those kind of wear
and tear issues where his performance takes a hit, and
then you have to point it out to him and
be like, hey, we told you it's not possible.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
You wanted to do it, We let you, and here's
what happened.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
But if you're taking him this high, I think you
think you kind of have to play him a lot
both ways.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
Yeah, I mean, he's also a guy that can do.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
No you're good if he If he isn't looking good
on one side of the ball, put him on the
other side. If you need, you know, to spark plug
on the offense. You got your guys have been driving
down the field, you can't get a touchdown. Put in
your best player, Put in your athlete, go out there.
Speaker 6 (11:39):
Put him in.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Some you know, gadget system plays and he can make
stuff happen. You get you get the ball in. A
player like his hit his hands, he can make things happen.
So you know, he could be a dynamic player on
both sides. But that leaves me with the Patriots at
four and I'm gonna go, will Campbell here, protect your
young quarterback, Drake May. Honestly, I looked at their depth
(12:01):
trot right now. Their current left tackle is Viderian Lowe,
who I have never heard of in my life. No
clue who he is. I had a fifty four PFF
overall grade in that spot last season, so clearly isn't
anyone to you know, look up. They signed Morgan Moses
to you know, kind of go over that right side,
but they need someone consistent, they need a cornerstone to
(12:22):
you know, for the future, to protect their young quarterback.
I had nine hundred and ninety four past black snaps
over the last two seasons and only allowed two sacks.
So and he's also had eighty point seven run black grade,
so he can do both. He's got the traits to
become an all pro lineman, I think in New England,
and I think he could have a long career. They're
protecting Drake May.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, I think that O line is a huge need
for them, and I think when they signed Stefan Diggs
they kind of locked in that this fourth pick was
going to be an O lineman. It could be Campbell,
could be Membu. I'm still of the mind that they
should go get Ted McMillan and give Drake May that.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Look, I'm not a Digs guy. I'm kind of skeptical
that he's going to be.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
A long term option there with Drake May, I would
go get May that kind of stud, long term guy.
But I'm also higher on Tet than most. I'm kind
of he's a polarizing guy. There's some people who wouldn't
take him in the first round, and I think he's
gonna be a stud at this level.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
But I mean, you can't go wrong with well Campbell.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Yeah, I'm right there with you, guys.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
I think that would be the pick, and I think
if he's there, he will be the pick. Whether it's
Nick McLay picking or Elliott Wolf.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
I think is a guy that makes it. Picks up there.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
All right, we'll go to number five now with the Jags.
Cam Ward's still not off the board. I don't think
he'll be doing here with Trevor Lawrence, Mark or you
selected at number five.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
So it seems like this pick is going to be
Mason Graham. I'm not as high on Mason Graham as most.
I think Mason Gray is one of the safest players
in the draft. Like I think that there's it's a
pretty much much mortal lock that guy's going to be
a starter at the next level. If I'm taking a
d tackle in the top five, I want to think
that the guy can be Jalen Carter and be a
(14:09):
game wrecker and be the best player on my defense
on a team that you know has a top five
defense and he's an All Pro. I don't see that
for Mason Graham. As a pass rusher, I think he
can be a good pass rusher. I don't think he's
Jalen Carter necessarily, And if I'm taking a guy this high,
that's what I want out of this guy. And the
(14:29):
Jags there, I think their three biggest needs are four
biggest needs, if you want to say, detackle, tight end,
interior line, and safety. I just in my rankings, my
personal board, I don't have a guy at any of
those positions i'd want to take fifth. So I'm gonna
make the splash here. And Travis DTN rushed for three
(14:49):
point seven yards per carry the last two years. He
really dropped off, especially last year in his efficiency as
a pass catcher. Give me Ashton Genty turn that offense
around and take some of the weight off Trevor Lawrence's shoulders.
I think we know, whether John Jansen likes it or not,
that at this point Trevor Lawrence is not maybe that
(15:09):
top five to seven.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
Quarterback we thought he would be coming out.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Of college, and maybe he's more of a top fifteenish quarterback.
And maybe he's not a guy that can carry an offense,
but a guy that if you gave him a good
old line and you gave him a really good running game,
maybe he could do the rest and kind of you
take a lot off his plate. And I'll throw this
question to you, guys, who's the best individual player Trevor
(15:34):
Lawrence has ever played with offensively in Jacksonville. Is it
Brian Thomas Junior, probably from this year, maybe maybe ETN
for one of the years.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
Yeah, it's probably Brian Thomas.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Honestly, Evan Ingram like, it's not great. So maybe if
we gave Trevor Lawrence a true superstar, and I think
that's what gent is. I'm not a guy who values
the running back position wanting to take it this high. Ever,
you know, I get that there's a little bit of
a running back revitalization going on. I think that's more
about the elite guys being undervalued, and I think Genti's
(16:10):
one of those elite guys. So I would take him
up this high, especially if you're a Jags team that
if you're the Jags, you probably don't look in the
mirror and look at yourself as a total rebuild. You
probably feel like, oh, we have some pieces. You add
a couple here and there, you change the coach, and
we can be right back in this thing. And gent
can help you get right back in this thing on
a short term basis, especially, So I think there's a
(16:32):
lot of talk with him going six, not a lot
of talk with him going five here, because I think
it's amazing Graham, but I think the Jags should consider it.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Yeah, I think you put that with the offensive coach
coming in there as well, does the offensive coach, you know,
want to add another person to his side of the.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Ball very young GM though, I'm very interested to see
what he does.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I feel like he could maybe make a pick that
you know, he thinks outsmarting other people. I'm very to
track what the Jags do. But any thoughts on that selection,
Nick before we go to pick six.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Yeah, that would be pretty pretty fun to see Ashton
down there in Jacksonville. Whichever Lawrence, like Mark said, pretty much,
he's never had that big of a target to have,
you know, in their offense. He hasn't had a core
guy with him besides Brian Thomas. Hopefully they can build
that big three down there with Thomas, Genty and Lawrence.
I know they could probably improve on the offensive line too,
(17:27):
but that'll come as you go, maybe take some free
agent signings. But if he goes down there to Jacksonville,
him and ETN could be scary in the backfield.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
All Right, we go to pick six, and this is
where I will have the cam.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Ward slide stop.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
You bring a new head coach new GM, and you're
bring a stopgap quarterback with Gino Smith. I think he
allows Kim Ward to kind of get his feet under
him this year. You look at Geno Smith's tracks, there's
an out after twenty twenty six, He's playing two years
Gino Smith, and then you kind of turned the keys
over to cam Ward. But I think Ward's still a
(18:06):
talented quarterback, probably, as I said earlier, not in that
top ten area, but more so that that top twelve
to fifteen. You can win with them, and who knows
how long much longer Pete Carroll coach. But you look
at all the teams that Pete Carroll's had success with
over the years, it's been kind of a more of
a team sport to keep it simple.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Hasn't been the quarterbacks going out there and dominate.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
We know obviously they've had great defenses, but he's had
great running games. It sounds like that's why one of
the main reasons Ash and Gents has been projected here
a lot as well, focus on running the football.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
But I think the new GM once to get his
guy in.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
There, you know, let Gino Smith go out there play
this year, potentially next year, and then turn the keys
over to cam Ward. So give me cam Ward quarterback
out of Miami to the Raiders there at six.
Speaker 5 (18:50):
Yeah, I think they'd be pretty happy to get him
down here. I know, like you said, with the Gino contract,
they definitely need a plan for the future. They got
really nothing up and coming besides bars, and you need
to get him the ball somehow, some way. So build
that chemistry with them early. Get cam Ward in behind Geno.
Smithy doesn't have to play right away, doesn't have to
have that pressure on his back.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
So I would like that for Raiders. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
If I'm the Raiders, I'm wanting to walk out of
here with GENTI. I really do think that if you're
Pete Carroll kind of you're there for a good time,
not a long time.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Probably at seventy eight years old or whatever he is.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
I think he's probably thinking, let me get this guy,
who I think is one of the only superstars in
the draft. But if cam Ward fell, they'd be taking
cam Ward of course, you know, obviously he's going to
go one here overall. But the Raiders, they obviously don't
have a long term QB option. QB is far more
important than every other position on the field. Regardless of
(19:49):
why I think of cam Ward, that would be the
pick if he was there.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
All right, we go to Florham Park, New Jersey, I
believe is where the headquarters are for the New York Yets. McLay,
you're on the clock here. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
They could go a few different ways here. They could
go to tackle with Morgan Moses leaving.
Speaker 6 (20:09):
They don't. They only have Ola Fashanu on that side.
Speaker 5 (20:11):
Get you know your two tackles solidified for the future.
They could go pass catcher. Really have Garrett Wilson signed,
Josh Reynold, Allen Lazard.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Tight ends are.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
Only Jeremy Rutgerd and Stone Smart. I'm going Tyler Warren
here for chops to seven. I think he could be
a pro, an All Pro player. He could be a
guy that you just put in many different packages. He's
very versatile him and justin fields he can block. I
think with the team that you know a young quarterback
who hasn't really proven himself yet, give him a safety
(20:42):
blanket like Warren. He can pass, catch, he can block.
He did it all up Penn State. So I think
Jets would be running to the podium to get Tyler
Warren in this situation.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
I think this is gonna happen in real life. I
think Tyler Warren is going to be a Jet, and
I really hope he is. I think I don't know
if you guys know this or if I've even said
this on Fox PHL Gambler airwaves. I'm officially like, I'm
a Jets fan this year as my second team.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I'm a Justin Fields believer.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
I think there's like ten teams that should have signed
Justin Fields at their quarterback. I think what the Jets
did is really smart because if he does pan out,
you at least have a guy that you can keep
for the next couple of years at his age, and
giving him Tyler Warren would be giving him a chance
to do that while also still investing in the future,
because it's not like Tyler Warren's a short term pick
or anything. You take him, you expect me to be
a building block for the next ten years. But yeah,
(21:34):
I love the fit for the Jets there. It feels
like they haven't ad an impact tight end. I can't
even my life, I can't think of one.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Dustin Yeller, I think.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
This is a great selection as well, because I think
if you just like listen to Aaron Glenn's speak or
you just know kind of anything as bad as background,
He's like a no nonsense just like straight up football.
And I feel like Tyler Warren push comes to shove
might be the best just pure football player regardless of
position in this entire draft. I feel like that's a
great first pick for a new head coach, a new
(22:10):
GM get a guy in there that you know, I
don't really see being a bust. I think he's going
to be productive one way or another. Is he going
to be the best Titan in the league. That remains
to be seen. But I think he's certainly going to
be in that top like four to five. Even if
he's like a Dallas Goddard type player, I think they'll
be really happy with that. Just a safe guy that
(22:30):
you know is going to produce when he's on the field.
So I think that's a slam dut there for the Jets.
If he's on the board. We go to number eight
now with the Panthers, Mark, you're back on the clock.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
That is my comp By the way, Dallas Goddter, I
think he's a little more Goddter than Bowers as opposed
to being like this like one hundred and ten catch
guy is going to be the best tight end we've
ever seen, Like right away, I think he's going to
be more like Goddar, maybe a little more juice than
got Her, And maybe I got it was in a
different offense. He'd get more looks and his stats would
look a little shinier if he stayed healthy. That's a
whole other conversation, Carolina. This is a tough decision for
(23:04):
me because I've got two guys here. I think Ted
McMillan makes a lot of sense here. I would love
to see them give Bryce Young a true X receiver,
but they did draft Lagett. I don't know if those
two guys fit perfectly together. I don't know if we'll
get was good enough to base this decision off of
that either. But I think an even bigger need for
(23:25):
them is pass rusher. They need some sort of juice
at edge. So I'm gonna go with a guy who
seems to be falling.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
But he did go.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
He did this guy did meet with I believe eleven
through eighteen in top thirty visits, give me James Pierce.
I think James Pierce is the top five guy in
this class. He's a guy who I feel like he
was in arguments for the number one pick this coming
into this year, and even a couple games into the year,
and then I feel like he had just as good
(23:54):
of a season, maybe like five percent worse of a season,
and now we're talking about him going in the twenties
or maybe even falling all the way to the Eagles
of thirty two if possible.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
I don't get it. I think this guy's an absolute stud.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Yeah, I think the main thing with him is just
the off the field stuff.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Every time his name gets brought up, when when I'm
listening to something or reading something, it always goes he's
a yeah buck guy. On the field great, but you know,
it seems like there's some trouble. I haven't even heard
like the specific incidents or what is the problem off
the field, but it just seems like that's that keeps
popping up him when kind of you know, there's smoke,
(24:33):
there's fire in these type of situations.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
Yeah, I'm also in the camp that, like you said, said,
I don't really know what his off the field issues
even are. But if you have off the field issues
and you're a defender in football, like Yeah, you're a psychopath.
You're something wrong in your brain if you're out there
playing edge in the NFL, like you gotta have some
type of psychotic, you know, bone in your brain. So
I think James Spears would be a home run here
(25:00):
for the Panthers. And like you said, if he's falling
a thirty two, I think we would sprint off to
the podium right in. James Pearson on that card.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
Don't let him get to like twenty two or I'll
be screaming on my live stream to be trading up
in how to work the phones, because man, that guy
bed night Green across.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
From Nolan Smith Jalen on the inside watch out.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
All right, we moved to number nine with the Saints,
and I'm back on the clock. Obviously, the big news
came out last week with Derek Carr and his shoulder injury.
It seems like the Saints might be forced into taking
a quarterback right in this spot. It might have been
the pick anyway, but I think we're just gonna have
to roll with it. Give me Shadora Sanders out of Colorado.
(25:45):
Not the biggest fan overall of his game. I think
he's a great passer. I just think he's not that
great of an athlete. I'm kind of worried about that.
And in terms of him being a pure pocket passer,
he's a guy that likes to evade to hold onto
the ball a little bit too much. I do have
some question marks about his game. But when it comes
down to Himmer, Jackson, Dart and I'm a I was
(26:07):
a big Jackson Darton college fan, but I think there's
more of a risk with him. So if we're looking
for the Saints, we need our starting quarterback this year,
we need to kind of play it safe. I think
Shudorge Sanders is a middle of the pack type of
quarterback in the right situation, right surroundings. I think he
can do well. Because even we got to look back
at Colorado like that still wasn't that great of a team.
I think he did definitely elevate them over his past
(26:30):
two years, especially this season. But the need of screaming
at quarterback, it's probably between Himmer, Jackson Dart.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Here, and I'll probably still lean towards should or Sanders.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
So give me Shoudorg Sanders out of Colorado there to
the Saints at nine.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
Yeah, it's kind of looking like this will be the
pick at least betting odds wise. He's been the favorite
for a couple and maybe like a week or so
at least from what I've seen with the report, Derek
Carr coming out like you just said, it makes more
the most sense for them to go quarterback in this situation,
whoever kind of falls to him. So yeah, I wouldn't
be surprised if Shor goes down there.
Speaker 6 (27:05):
To No Orleans.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
There's a lot of Derek Carr and should Or Sanders,
to be honest with weird comp that you wouldn't think of.
But Gino is the guy who I comped shoud Or too,
And yeah, the athleticism is concerning, but.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
I actually like Shodur more than Wards, like very very slightly.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
But both guys I think projecteds like middle of the
road starters to me, if not a little below that.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
So yeah, I think this, I think is what's gonna
happen though.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you on that.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Now, I'm gonna clock at ten with the Bears and
they I think I'm gonna go offensive line here. I'm
gonna go armand Membo. I love him, think he should
be a top ten talent. His stock has only grown
since the season really has ended. Has dominated the Combine,
dominated the the Senior Bowl. I think he's a very
(27:51):
athletic tackle that has that prototypical size guard size, but
he can also play tackle, so he's got the versatility.
Not really sure where he would fit into this offensive
line after all the signings and trades that they made.
He's also someone that I know he's a top ten pick.
You don't necessarily have to force him really into it
with what you did in the offseason. I know, I
(28:12):
think I would want to want him on the field
right away, but in this situation, with what they did,
I think you don't put any pressure on him. You know,
let him learn the system, protect protect Caleb Williams. So
I think he's also barely a lot any pressure pressures.
So I forget the exactly burn on it. But I
saw tweet earlier today, but I think he could. He
(28:33):
has the potential to be an immediate impact top ten
pick in my opinion, arm On Mendo, he's my number.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Eight guy overall. I think that's where I would go
for sure too.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Yeah, I leave the offensive line talk to you two boys,
all right.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
We go to number eleven with the forty nine ers, Mark,
You're back on the clock.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Very interesting spot here because.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
I think the forty nine ers could go a lot
of different ways outside a quarterback, think a quarterback and
running back.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
I don't think any other position here would really surprise me.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I think it's gotta be in the trenches. They're really
weak on both sides of the trenches on offense and defense.
I'm gonna they're a little bit more weak on the
inside on the offensive line with a probably more of
a long term need with Trent Williams not here for
the long term, I'm gonna go with that, and I'm
gonna go with Josh Simmons from Ohio State offensive tackle.
(29:26):
He's kind of a polarizing guy, but I think went healthy.
I think he's arguably the best true tackle prospect in
the class.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
He's right there with Membu and Campbell for me.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
So I think that that's a possible pick in the
real draft too. The forty nine ers have taken top
thirty visits with like every guy i'd like, so this
is one of them.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
But I like that fhit.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Does Simon slide in they want to right tackle.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
I think he could, but I think they'll probably try
to play him inside while they have Williams still playing
on the outside, and then maybe he projects to fit
to switch long term. My co host Shane has always
likes to say that he hates that plan, especially for
the Eagles, because if you play a guy that you
draft a tackle on the inside and he's really good,
(30:17):
you're inevitably not gonna want to move him because he's
really good at that position, and if he's not good
at that position, you're not going to trust him to
play tackle. So it's a little bit of a catch
twenty two. Shane always likes to throw that in my face,
but I do think in this case, maybe you play
on the inside of the movement outside eventually. I don't
know how it works, but I think he could play either.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
Yeah, Simmons is someone that I've seen that if he
starts to fall, don't be surprised if how he's on
the phone making a call to go up and get him,
as you know that I would.
Speaker 6 (30:49):
I would love that too.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
He doesn't have to play right away, can learn in
you know, Stotling University.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
I think that would be a great trade up for
the Eagles if we can get up at Josh.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
All right, we got about twenty minutes left.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
We got eight or twenty picks to go, so we're
limited this to a minute or forty five seconds a
pick for the way out.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
So give your pick, give your.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Little spiel, and then we'll move on to the next one.
I'll start us off here at number twelve with the Cowboys.
I think this is perfect fit. And I think if
he slides here, this is going to be, you know,
one of those ones where Jerry Steven Jones, whoever's running
up the car is spreading up there. Ted McMillan wide
receiver out of Arizona. I think pairing him with CD
two kind of different type of receivers, I think that
(31:36):
is a great fit there. I could also see them
going running back potentially, But give me another receiver there.
I think outside of CD lamb that receiver corps it
is pretty bare. So I'll take the receiver there out
of Arizona.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
All right, we go. Yeah, if you guys want like
ten seconds each.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
On each pick to chimement as well, we can still
do that, but just for time purpose anything on him.
Speaker 6 (31:59):
Nick, Yeah, I love Tet.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
I mean he's been one of the more productive wide
receivers in the past two seasons. I don't know why
teams are talking about him sliding, but I'll keep that
brief on the Dolphins. Now, I'm gonna go today, Baron.
We have no clue what's going on with Jalen Ramsey.
He Baron's an elite playmaker, elite athlete, NFL ready, body
(32:22):
frame already. I think that physicality is what you need
in an NFL defense. They don't know what they're doing
with Cam Smith. Camp Smith hasn't produced. So give me
Jday Baron out of Texas.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
Here Tom mcshay's number one dB.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
I believe wow, MHM.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
With the Yeah, Chris Ballard, who should not have a job.
It needs a tight end badly. He's hoping Tyler Warren
gets there. He's not there, but he's gonna go in
the tight end bag anyway. And take Colston Loveland, who
I think he's a lot, a lot like Evan Ingram's kind.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
Of just like a true receiver out of the tight
end thought.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
And he didn't get a chance to show everything that
I think he can be as a receiver with how
bad that quarterback plays was In twenty twenty four at Michigan,
and in twenty twenty three, the system just wasn't very
past happy in general, even with JJ McCarthy. But I
think when he's gotten a chance, he's shown how open
he can get, He's shown what a good route runner
he is. I think he can be kind of a
(33:21):
top seven, top eight tight end in Fantasy Year one
in terms of his production as a receiver.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yeah, it's a pick Nick that we talked about, where
another one where if he's on the board, it feels
like it's too makes too much sense to not happen there.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
Chargers love him apparently.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
Don't be surprised if they trade up and Hardball gets
old Michigan buddy, that would be that.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Would make sense as well.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
All Right, we go to my next selection with the
Atlanta Falcons at fifteen. Nick, when we talked about edge rushers,
you were just kind of feeding or excuse me, when
we did our last mock draft, you were just feeding
me stats about how bad the Falcons have been on
the edge. I forget off the top of my head,
and it sounds so bizarre, but I think it was
the stat like they have sixty less sacks than like
(34:07):
the team that has the most over the past like
three seasons.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
That's how bad they've been.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
I think it's the Steelers are number one and the
Falcons are in last with like sixty behind. So this
is a team that has a screaming need on the edge,
but also as a team that made the most surprising
pick of the first round last year with Michael Pennick.
So who knows where this front office goes. But I
think if Jalen Walker out of Georgia's there, that's a
player that makes sense. McLay you always talk about it,
(34:32):
but just a guy that's a game wrecker. You put
him out there on the field, and he's gonna make
something happen, whether it's a tackle for loss, whether it's
hawking down a guy running away with the ball, rushing
the passer. He's just a football player and he's a
guy that's going to go out there and make stuff happen.
So give me Jayleen Walker there out of Georgia, stays
in the state and goes to the Falcons are fifteen.
Speaker 5 (34:53):
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Walker, and I honestly
was going to take him here with the Cardinals if
you didn't so, but I guess I'm gonna stay in Georgia.
I'm gonna go to Mikel Williams. Cardinals also need a
guy off the edge. I know they drafted Robinson at
Missouri last year, but you can always have another secondary
edge guy. I think you got to get to the quarterback.
Cardinals haven't really done that either, similar to the Falcons.
(35:16):
Not as bad as a Falcon, but I think you
get Mikel Williams. He can be, you know, a good
tackle for loss, a guy in a sack, guy in
the back backfield.
Speaker 6 (35:24):
So give me Likekel Williams out of Georgia.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
I am.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
I can't believe you guys are gonna make me be
the guy takes Mason Grant. But give me Mason Grahant
for since a year at seventeen. They need ne d
line and he's gonna go number five.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
I think.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
So he's not gonna sniff this area the draft. I'm
not that high on him. He is still my number
one d tackle because he is such a sure thing.
As I talked about earlier, I won't spend too much
time talking about it more.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Since I talked about it, all.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Right, we go on to and like you said, he's
probably gonna be a top five. But it's fine though,
just how like looking at the draft and its like,
all right, this guy's probably.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
A top five pick, and then we got him sliding
all the way.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
But as we said at the beginning, you know, it's
kind of pick your favorite flavor of ice cream or
do you where do you want to go with with
some of these guys, because it's not much of a
consensus this year. All right, we go to the Seahawks.
My selection here. My kind of logic with this is,
you know, you bring in Sam Donald, you give him
all this guaranteed money you trade for them, and then
(36:26):
you send out your best receiver in DK Metcalf, Jackson
Smith and jig Bet has been great. You bring in
Cooper cup What does he have left in the tank?
Marquez Valda Scantling's your next guy. Let's give him another weapon.
We saw what Sam Donald did last year with weapons,
with guys that that were able to get open and
obviously successful receivers like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, a guy
(36:48):
that I think is going to be a better pro
than he was in college, and a little bit of
a mixture of what they don't have out there right
now in Seattle. Give me Luther Burden out of Missouri
here to the Seahawks. I just think it would be
stupid if you're going to bring in Sam Donald and
not give him, you know, adequate weapons. We saw what
he did with the Jets when he didn't have weapons
in a bad offensive line. You could certainly turn the
offensive line here. But let's give him as much weapons
(37:09):
on the outside as possible.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
And kind of rock from there. I would really like.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
That offense if it has a guy like Burden Smith
and Jigba Cooper Cup, if he's able to play, you know,
twelve games this year and contribute eighty percent of what
he used to Kenneth Walker and kind of let's.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Go from there.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
You love Kenneth Walker.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
I was disappointed with with his play last year, but
also he was nick naped.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
I just don't.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
I don't think Missouri used him to the best extent
possible last season. But he's a guy.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
I think that if he gets gets in the right
place with with with the right play caller.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
I think he could be a better pro player than
he was in college.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
But I was just taking a shot at your Kenneth
Walker hate from last year with.
Speaker 7 (37:53):
Oh wait, did you say, did you say Walker? I
thought you said, yeah, Yeah, I think you hate Kenneth Walker.
I remember Imber nineteen. Oh I didn't. I didn't sleep.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
It's funny I actually thought about him. I thought about
him to that.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
I saw his jersey. I was that.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
I was in Michigan near East Lansing a couple of
weeks ago and I was in a Dick Sporting Goods
saw Kenneth Walker Michigan stage jers. He almost took a
snap for the chat to send the beast and that'sked
if I should get it.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
And I was like, you know what, I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Nineteen that's good.
Speaker 6 (38:30):
That's good.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
Bucks here the bucks are at nineteen, the bucks at nineteen.
Speaker 6 (38:36):
Give me.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
I think this is also a picker. I think it's
gonna happen in real life. John Campbell, linebacker out of Alabama,
can really just line up anywhere it all put him
on the field, He's gonna make place happen. Labatte David
is thirty five, only has a one year deal. He
also hasn't really even played well since like twenty sixteen.
So I think you get a guy that can play
the middle of the field. Roam around, cover a little bit,
(39:00):
rush the passer a little bit, can do it all
on the field, will make places happen.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
John Campbell, you.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Know, and we talked about in our mock draft.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
They're a team that has shown the willingness to use
high draft capital on linebackers. Not many teams have shown
that the Bucks have, and they've had some success, So
I can certainly see that being a fit there.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
If you're looking at the type of team that should
take a swing on a first round running back, it's
the Denver Broncos. You got a rookie quarterback, your running
game was awful last year, you have a great offensive line.
I think you plug Omrion Hampton into that offense and
it does a lot to help with some of the
sophomore slump though Knicks might have. And you know a
lot of these NFL teams we see that pop up
(39:41):
out of nowhere and make the playoffs. The schedule gets
harder than next year, whatever the case may be, and
you drop back. I think you add a guy like
Hampton to that offense and it helps a lot with
kind of stopping that.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
I saw a report today that that's the floor for
or the ceiling for him. It doesn't sound like he's
gonna get past there. I even saw Trevion Henderson's name
kind of thrown in the mix there as well.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
Potentially three running backs in the first round. That'd be
interesting to see.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
All Right, we go to the Steelers here at twenty one.
I'm on the clock. As of this moment, April sixteenth,
they still don't have a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
It sounds like Aaron Rodgers is reported to be the
guy there.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Maybe we'll see how the draft shakes out and kind
of go from there. I could definitely see them also
announcing the signing like one hour before the draft, but
it is a spot where I could see them taking
in kind of their quarterback of the future. It kind
of reminds me a little bit of the Kenny Pickett selection.
But just give me Jackson Dart here another spot where
if Aaron Rodgers goes out there and has one good year,
(40:41):
you're still back to square one next year. I don't
think you're winning the Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers this year,
And even if he does have a strong year, maybe
come back again. But I don't see Aaron Rodgers led
team taking down to Patrick Mahomes, a Josh Allen, a
Joe Burrow or a Lamar or I've forgotten someone in
that mix. But that's it's a spot where you're kind
of in no man's line for the Steelers. So take
(41:03):
another swing here on a quarterback. Jackson Dart has a talent,
but I definitely think playing that Lane Kiffin system a
little too simplified. He might not be ready for the
full swings of the NFL. But learn Buying a guy,
if possible, like Aaron Rodgers for a year I think
could help him out. So give me Jackson Dart out
will miss to the Steelers there at twenty one.
Speaker 6 (41:23):
Yeah, I can see that.
Speaker 5 (41:24):
If he's still there, I mean they got to take
a swing at something. I don't think he's a first
round talent, but with the situation, I think they do
end up going quarterback.
Speaker 6 (41:33):
Now on the Chargers, I'm gonna go defensive line on this.
I'm not sure edge or middle. I'm gonna go.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
Mike Green here, Mike Green and A Marshall to the
Chargers just lost Joey Bosa, Khalil Max only got one
more season in them. Probably, I think they got to
add to that defensive line. They lost poon A four
to two. Morgan Fox too. There are a lot of
guys on the front line that they lost. Got to
get to the backfield. I think this is a spot
where if the two tight ends were there, they go them.
(42:03):
I think they may be trade up, like you said,
if Colson Lovelin is still a little bit lingering around,
I think they trade up for him. But in this situation,
give me a Mike green at a Marshall.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
With green Bay.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
I just think they're so desperate for a wide receiver one,
and I don't know if this guy is that, but
his guy I'm way higher on than those. He's such
a big play machine. Trey Harris from Ole, Miss. He's
my wide receiver two in this class. So he's probably
going to go maybe even third round, if not second round.
I truly do think he should be a first round
(42:39):
guy who's a high school quarterback switched over to receiver.
I think he's raw there, but I think he shows
the big eighteen point two yards per catch in twenty
twenty three, seventeen point two yards per catching twenty twenty four.
I think if he would have played the full year
this year, he would have had like sixteen seventeen hundred yards,
and I think we'd be looking at him a little differently.
Speaker 4 (42:57):
But I love Trey Harris.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
Yeah, I think that would be a good fit there too.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
We talked about it when we talked about the Packers
in our one episode. Nick got to remember Christian Watson
toward the ACL last year too.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
He's coming up on having to get paid.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
So I think that Packers team has so many like
average players on the offensive side, they.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
Don't really have a true kind of game changer.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
So Harris definitely has that big play, that game breaking
type ability, so be an interesting potential selection there. All right,
we go to my next pick with the Minnesota Vikings.
I think they have a screaming need at defensive back,
specifically corner. There's several guys here on the board, but
(43:39):
one guy that I've been.
Speaker 2 (43:41):
Gaining some steam.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
On and a little bit higher on as the weeks
have gone on, Maxwell Harrison out of Kentucky. I love
his speed, his willingness to tackle, got the ball skills
as well.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
I think he's a very good fit there for.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Minnesota and a kind of a plug and play starter
from day one for this Vikings defense.
Speaker 4 (43:59):
Visited with the Eagle recently the other day. Potential Eagle
there at thirty two.
Speaker 5 (44:04):
Yeah, I love him, good long, speedy guy. Now on
the Texans, I'm gonna go to mechag Buka. Let's team
up CJ. Stroud and Agbuka again. He liked Trey Harris
for you. Eg Buka is my wide receiver two. I
think he's going to be one of the more productive
wide receiver's career wise, longevity wise. I think his route
(44:26):
running is one of is probably the best, in my
opinion in this class. Very defined. He sits in these zones,
can find open spots. So give me a mechag Buka
here at Ohio State with.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
The Rams at twenty six. I'm taking my guy the
Notre Dame on my head. I'm unbiased, but gimme Benjamin Morrison.
I'm no hip doctor, but if you turn on the
tape and watch this guy over his two and a
half years there, I don't think that there's anything that
for Benjamin Harrison, I think is a former president Benjamin Morrison.
(45:00):
But Benjamin Morrison is a guy that I really wish
they would have had him down the stretch this year.
They made that run in the playoffs without Benjamin Morrison,
Will Johnson's law or Will Howard's lucky that he wasn't
playing in the National title game. I digress, though, I
have him as my number eleven guy. I think he
(45:20):
should go really high. It didn't work out with the
teams I had here, but I love him for the
Rams with twenty six, who definitely needs some help the corner.
Speaker 2 (45:30):
Yeah, I think Benjamin Harrison was the twenty third president.
I believe that's something that I could probably take up
once I once I get make my pick, I'm gonna
have to look that up.
Speaker 1 (45:43):
But all right, here we are a number twenty seven
with the Ravens. I feel like they're always in that
spot where it's like the Ravens and another receiver.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
But also, you can never go wrong drafting on the
defensive side.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
Of the ball when you're a team like the Ravens
with with that pedigree, I feel like, you know, predicting
predicting that selection would probably work out.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Well, where do they go? Do they need an edge rusher?
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Do you get another guy to get after Mahomes and
Burrow and Allen potentially there give me Schamar Stewart out
of Texas A and M you know, not the overall
biggest fan of his game, but I think they do
need another edge rusher, and he is a rale player.
I think kind of like like inn O way that
they took you know, a couple of years ago, kind
of fits that profile as well. So give me Shamar
(46:28):
Stewart out of Texas A and M there to the Ravens.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
Yeah, I think I'm a lot higher on him than
I think you guys are. I just look at him
and I think teams are gonna just salivate and say,
I think I can form him into something productive. Obviously
he wasn't in college, but which is a glaring you know,
you know you look at that eye opening but but
I think his his traits.
Speaker 6 (46:52):
You want him in a defensive system.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
But Lions, gimme Walter Nolan, you know, one of the
better high school prospects, him and Drivis Hunter in that
class t Troy Lions kind of need that front line.
I know they have a Lee McNeil, Aden Hutchinson kind
of need to fill those other gaps. So give me
Walter Nolan here.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
I am going to stay on the defensive line.
Speaker 4 (47:18):
I thought about going to safety and taking another Notre
Dame guy.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
But I'm gonna take a guy who I think is
probably a second round pick, but I'm higher on the
most I'm going Landon Jackson, edge rusher from Arkansas. He's
an elite run stopper at the edge and at setting
the edge, and with his athleticism, I'm just buying in
on the traits that he can become a better pass rusher.
He did have six and a half sacks this year,
second team All SEC. He's been a guy of like
(47:44):
for a while, super tall, six to six, long arms,
impacts impacts passes at the line of scrimmage. But I
think Commanders really struggled against the run, as we know
quite well with Saquan.
Speaker 4 (47:56):
So give me Landon Jackson there, all.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
Right, So fun fact about Benjamin Harrison was the twenty
third president and Borden not South Bend.
Speaker 2 (48:07):
But North Bend, Ohio. I thought that was kind of
in that one. All right.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
We go up to my last pick here at number
thirty with the Bills, another team with like the Ravens
where it's always like can they take another receiver, like
they need another weapon. I'll give them Matthew Golden here
out of Texas, the wide receiver. I think he ran
the fastest forty ath the combine.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
I believe. Get Josh Allen another weapon.
Speaker 1 (48:34):
Whether you match up with Patrick Mahomes or not, you're
gonna have to outscore most of these teams in the
AFC to beat them. So give me Matthew goldenmide receiver
out of Texas.
Speaker 6 (48:45):
Yeah, I love him.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
He just also picked up steam as the season kind
of went on, especially in the college playoffs.
Speaker 6 (48:52):
But the Chiefs.
Speaker 5 (48:54):
Give me Calvin Banks. He kind of slid down here.
I'm not really as high on him. I think this
kind of is where I would view him. He should
be going late first, early second. The Chiefs need a tackle,
as we know as Eagles fans in that Super Bowl
got after Patty Mahomes. They have Kingsley from BYU kind
(49:15):
of struggled a bit. But give me Kelvin Banks here
to kind of fill in that hole.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
All right, wrap us up, Mark.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
This would be a dream for me at thirty Yeah,
this would be a dream for me at thirty two.
A guy who I love, who I would actually trade
up for. He's my number fourteen guy on the inside.
You slot him right in there. To replace Milton Williams.
Give me Derek Harmon. I think this is at down
the line and a guy who can stuff the run.
(49:45):
I think he's gonna be a good pass rusher. And
he's also when you put a guy next to Jalen Carter,
I think it's going to accentuate the.
Speaker 4 (49:53):
Positives and hide the weaknesses.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
So love any of you know, Walter Nolan and Derek
Harmon are like my two dreams for the Eagles at
thirty two.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
All right, well, just in time there we got to
our fifty fifty minute limit.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
Wrap it up. But Nick Mark, thanks for joining us
both tonight. Fun exercise here can board sides of six
probably making some headlines. Abdul Carter going one, but kind
of fun, different way to look at it. And you
know we still probably hit on the top thirty two guys,
you know, give or take some of these guys according
to most boards.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
But any last second comments fell before we head out.
Speaker 6 (50:33):
No other than that.
Speaker 5 (50:33):
I just can't wait until the twenty fourth. I can't
wait till Thursday. I know that this is obviously what
we would do. So people are going to look at
this and say, Abdul Carter will Johnson going one two
and say what is going on? But at this point,
I mean, you know, so bit this is what we
want to do.
Speaker 6 (50:52):
But I'm excited. Man, I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
People can't yell at me about Mason Graham, so I'm
the one.
Speaker 4 (50:58):
Yeah, fun on exercise. Thanks for having me, all right.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
Keep a locked here on Fox Sports and Gambler. We
will be talking to you next week with a couple
more Bending the Edge.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
Episodes ahead of Thursday's NFL Draft. M
