Speaker 1 (00:00):
Number one on your car radio preset hand then new
and improved Diehard Radio app WDA Yes and WD two
seven three D Philadelphia. I is Fox Sports Radio like Gambler.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Hello everyone, and welcome back to football. Is king here
on Fox Sports the Gambler. A glorious day to record
here on this Tuesday afternoon, July twenty second, Philadelphia Eagles
have officially reported to training camp.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
More and more teams you're seeing in helmets and helmet
shorts and jerseys out there on the field.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
You know, the pads aren't fully on yet, but it's
getting closer and closer day by day. Nick, Where we're
back here to talk some more NFL football today, little
hiatus from our college stuff. We did NFC last week,
kind of wide ranging preview. I just hit you on
a bunch of different questions that covered a lot of
the big picture topics for the NFC. We're gonna run

(00:50):
it back today with the AFC. So welcome back, Nick.
How are we and another day.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Closer to football?

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Dam I'm excited to get into it. You pretty much
touched one at all.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Pads are getting on, helmet's getting on, people hit hitting
the field.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
So you know before we know it.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
It's gonna be you know, week one and we're gonna
be you know, sitting on a couch and joining you know,
our beverages watching nice football game. And you know it's
just gonna be amazing once that time can actually happen.
And like you said, gonna start talking about a lot
of the a FC East after last week, we're NFC
or AFC as a whole. I'm sorry, and uh, you know,

(01:24):
just kind of really break down the win totals the
conference as a whole. Who think we can go along?
Who we think is really you know prime for a
you know, lesser of a season. So you know, can't
wait to get into all of that, all.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Right, I want to start it off at the top
with this one. I think this is the big picture
item when it comes to the AFC. Is it finally
the year the Chiefs get dethroned. They've won five of
the last six AFC championships, so they've been to five
of the last six Super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
The only year that they weren't was the year that the.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
They lost in the AFC title game to the Bengals,
and the Bengals go to the Super Bowl lose to
the ram But coming into the year, the Bills plus
three thirty, the Ravens plus three thirty, the Chiefs plus
four to twenty five, what have the Bills or Ravens
done to prove to be above the Chiefs. Like you
can have your different opinions, Like you can say, oh,
I think the Bills are gonna win, or I think
the Ravens where some people are on the Chargers to

(02:18):
overtake the Chiefs in the AFC West, But like, what
have the Bills or Ravens done to prove that they
deserve to be at least the preseason favorite over the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
That's mind boggling to me.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Yeah, I'm with you on that.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
I personally do think the Chiefs kind of do take
a step back. But from what we've seen the past
few seasons, if Patrick Mahomes is on the field, the
Chiefs are going to be going to the AFC Championship Game.
But I you know, I still think that that Chiefs
team has a little bit of more issues than we're
kind of seeing. It really is hard to go against

(02:49):
Patrick mc Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelcey, and Andy Reid. But
I mean with what the Ravens and Bills have done,
like you said, kind of crazy. See not see the
Chiefs at the top of that AFC at least on
DraftKings right now.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, and even like super Bowl wise, like why are
the Bills and Ravens the favorite to win the Super
Bowl over the Eagles? Like, you know, just it's not
like the Eagles. Also, ton the Eagles are coming back loaded.
They might even have a better roster arguably than they
did last year going into the season with you know,
especially with the young players that they have in the
you know, second and third year leap that some of
these guys on the Eagles are expected to take. I

(03:22):
think it's pretty crazy to have anyone but the Chiefs
and the Eagles at the top, you know, until proven otherwise.
You know, we could have a different conversation last year.
But you know, the comparison has made all the time
with the Chiefs and the Patriots just being kind of
the inevitable and maybe one of these years that the
Chiefs won't go to the AFC title game. But more
times than not, as you said, as long as fifteen's

(03:43):
on the field and Andy Reid's over on that sideline,
I think that you could pencil them in to the
AAFC title game. At least it hasn't always been pretty,
but they've just found ways to win. So very confused
as to why, at least they're not like the betting favorite.
I could see your argument for why you would pick
the Ravens or you would pick the Bills. Those are
the only two teams I think you can make a
conceivable argument due to their quarterbacks overtaking Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
But pretty wild for me to see that.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
We've kind of touched on it a few times though,
but the Chargers are a team that's been discussed a lot,
and you know, we were just going on a little
bit of a rant there about why the Chiefs should
still be viewed as the favorite. But there are many
people that think the Chargers could overtake them. I know
Sean Bernard's not one of them. But what they did
last year I thought was impressive. With a pretty inferior

(04:27):
roster in year one under Harbaugh, I expect them to
take you even bigger leap here in year two. Are
you buying them as a potential AFC representative in the Super.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Bowl this year?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:37):
I really do like this Chargers team.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
I mean, piggybacking off of what we said earlier, it's
really hard to go against Patty Mahomes, Travis Kelsey and
Andy Reed. But I think this is kind of the
year where we see maybe a new AFC West winner.
I know, you know the betit we just touched on
that betting favorite, but I think just with what the
rosters really are built up too up to this point,
I really do like this Chargers team up in coming.

(05:01):
It's kind of tough to back that up when the
Chiefs are twenty four in the AFC West in the
last six seasons, so obviously you know we're.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
You know, going against the grain here.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
But Patrick Mahomes is still Patrick Mahomes, but he's slowed
down the last couple of years. We saw Travis Kelcey
slowed down, or Sheie Rice is kind of in that
weird situation. Hollywood Brown can never really stay on the field.
He can produce when he's on the field, hasn't really produced.
I still think they win double digit games, the Chiefs.
I think it's insane to say they don't. I think

(05:32):
just the Chargers are gonna, you know, take that step
up this season. Don't really have a strong lean on
the chief Yeah, the Chiefs win total at like eleven
and a half.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
I see. I think they're hover right around there. I
don't think they'll just.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Be as dominant as they have been in previous seasons.
Chargers went just went eleven and six in Jim Harbell's
first season as the coach of the Chargers. So I
think I'm kind of buying into this Herbert campaign. I
know he hasn't produced as you know, the past couple
of seasons, but I think this is the year that
they kind of get over that hump. Got a great
offensive line, Lad McConkie showed what he can do. They

(06:04):
draft Trey Harris, can Quentin Johnson make that step up
that's gonna be a huge, you know situation in that
receiving room. They're bringing to Marion Hampton, Najie Harris in
the backfield, two bruisers, and we know how much Jim
Harbow really likes to run the ball. They open the
first three games against divisional opponent opponents, so it'll be
very you know, hopefully you got to go too and one,

(06:25):
hopefully you go three and out. But overall, I think
that's gonna be a battle at the top of that
division with the Chargers, Chiefs and Broncos might even sneak
in there too.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, Broncos, I mean playoff team last year rookie quarterback.
You would expect them to get better, and they have
a you know, elite head coach and Teum Payton a
really good defense as well.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
I think that AFCUS is gonna be tough.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I'm not really I see some people buying into the
Raiders as a potential playoff team.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
I think they'll be flirting.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
With that, you know, eight and nine, nine to eight,
hovering around, maybe competing with like the Steelers for for
the seventh spot. But I just don't think they're back
in that division is going to be good enough to
outduel Mahomes, outduel Justin Herbert, even out dul Bonex and
Jim excuse me, Sean Payton in that division. I think
it's gonna be tough for the Raiders to catch up.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
But we'll see there. Transition over to some awards now,
we talked about it last week.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
It's been mainly, you know, an AFC dominated award here
with the MVP and when you look at the odds
this year, the top four guys, Lamar Jackson and Josh
Allen both tied at plus fIF five fifty over at
DraftKings to win the MVP Joe Burrow at plus six
fifty and Patrick Mahomes at plus seven hundred. Before you
get to your first NFC quarterback with Jayden Daniels at
plus seven fifty, do you think it's one of those

(07:35):
top four to win the awards or do you throw.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
In the mix at Justin Herbert as CJ. Stroud.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Outside of that, you know it's it's mainly that's when
it gets into the kind of the NFC guys. Besides
Jaden Daniels and Jalen Hurts, is the only two in
the top six in the NFC.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah, I kind of think it is going to be
one of those top four.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
I think I would honestly after the season Joe Burrow
just had I wouldn't mind throwing a sprinkle on him
if you don't want to go the chalk of the
time up to with Lamar and Josh. But Joe, I
mean put up forty three passing touchdowns in led league
and receiver or passing yard, so I think he is
a good candidate if you want to sprinkle something on there.
But other than the top four, I don't really see

(08:14):
any of the other AFC quarterbacks getting it. I think
I would lean those top four AFC quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah, the conversation I was listening to something earlier today,
just an overall kind of kind of like what we're
what we're doing here AFC preview. They're basically saying, like,
when you look at the quarterbacks in the AFC compared
to the NFC, if you don't have a top ten
quarterback in the.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
League, you don't really have a chance to make it through.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Like they were talking about, if Daniel Jones goes out
there and plays well, sure they could win the AFC South.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
But that's just about as far as they're taking you, Like,
you don't have this ceiling of a Super Bowl team
when you have a Joe Burrow, a Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson,
you could certainly see yourself getting there. Obviously Mahomes, but
I still think it did narrow. It's crazy with like
obviously Josh and Lamar MVP players. They've won the award,
but they haven't gotten past past past Mahomes yet.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
They haven't done it once yet in the playoffs Barrow's
done it.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
He's done it once. But you know, show me, you know,
prove me wrong.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
But before we start putting these other teams into this
elite category at the top, I think it's just a
kind of crazy sentiment there. But you know that that
remains a conversation for another day. When you look at
the Offensive Player of the Year to another award where
I think you could see.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
A lot of the love going to the AFC.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Jamar Chase the favorite out of the AFC at plus
nine fifty, Derek Henry plus sixteen hundred, who can Nakua
in six at plus seventeen hundred. His name isn't that big,
but when you go back and look at his numbers,
you know if he if his name was justin Jefferson said,
people would be elevating Nico Collins probably into the top.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Five category as well.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
But when you look at some of these AFC potential
Offensive Player of the Year, Chase Henry, Ocollins, Tyreek Hill
is still in the mix at thirty to one, Brian
Thomas at thirty five to one.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
I'm interested to see if.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Any of these guys catch your eye outside of Jamar
Chase at plus nine to fifty.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
Yeah, I'm kind of looking at I know, you know,
MVP is, you know, more the quarterback award and Offensive
Player of the Year is more that positional award. But
I mean looking at Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen at
both plus four thousand seems I mean, I know, if
they're going to be Offensive Player of the Year, they're
probably going to be in contention for the MVP as well.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
So kind of a weird bet to look at.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
But looking at the number next to him at plus
four thousand teams a bit much for me, So I
wouldn't mind sprinkling that. But I think Jamar Chase is
kind of that clear guy.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
He's going to get those targets.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
He's going to get over one hundred target or maybe
over one hundred fifty targets.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
The man.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
The man's just a volume machine.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
And Joe Burrow has proven that he is that reliable
target and he stayed on the field too. He can
stay healthy and produce at the same time while having
that volume. So I think Jamar is probably that clear favorite.
And Karrick Henry at sixteen to one, I don't think
that's that's a bad stab either. At that value, so
I think them too, obviously the two top AFC chalk guys,

(11:04):
but I think you're getting some good value there with
Saquon being the leader at plus US six hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
I'm looking at Brian Thomas to make a huge leap
this year.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
I know he's got Travis Hunter in there now competing
for targets, but I think in a weak division, I
think Brian Thomas Junior could really take a big second
year leap and potentially surprise some people down there. At
thirty five to one, a dark horse play that I'm
kind of looking at there.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Defensive player of the year.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Some of the big names in this conference got some extensions.
Miles Garrett just got a big time extension. TJ Watch
just got won last week. You got Will Anderson Junior
in the mix there going into year three. Max Crosby,
some of the better pass rushers in the NFL reside
in the AFC. Patsera point last year. He's on the
way down at forty to one. Interesting number there. Anybody

(11:53):
out of the AFC really catching your eye, Our guy
Cooper dejen at fifty to one as well.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
Yeah, I think if you see Miles Garrett plus eight fifty.
I think I'm kind of leaning that after the season
that he just had. I mean, obviously he gets paid,
TJ Wat gets paid. They're both back to back Miles
Garrett at plus eight fifty t TJ Wat plus nine
to fifty. So I think both those guys are pretty similar.
They're going to get their their you know volume, they're
going to get their sacks. But Will Anderson too at

(12:19):
that thirteen to one. I wouldn't mind doing a sprinkle
on that one either.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yeah, Will Anderson, I'm not gonna say took a step
back last year. I think just the Texans as a whole,
we're a bit of a disappointment last year after that
first year under Demiico, with CJ. Stroud and Will Anderson
in the mix, super dynamic rookie seasons. I think they
both kind of came back to reality a bit last season.
But there's a that's a very winnable division. You know,

(12:47):
you go in a week division, just say you go
twelve and five, thirteen and four, you have fifteen plus
sacks or something. Will Anderson certainly could be in the mix.
I was just very surprised to see Pats Artane all
the way down here at forty to one. After winning
the award last year, you know it's it's hard, I
guess to win it as a dB.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
I think this is more of a pass rusher award.
Uh but but we'll see that.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
That's a name to keep an eye on too, if
you're looking for a player down the board. I really
like this discussion we had last week revolving kind of
our made up award. They have it in the NBA,
they don't have it in the NFL. But most improved
player or like a breakout player type type of guy.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
We talked about it.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Last week with Caleb Williams and Michael Pennix as potentially
two guys to to be kind of the breakout players.
Anybody in the AFC that you know a younger player,
second third year guy that you think could really break
out and be an elite player in the NFL this year.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
I mean he's I.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
Know he doesn't you know, the most unknown name, but
I really like uh oh wait, sorry, just uh I'm sorry,
my bad, just lost it. Jakoby Myers. Sorry, obviously he isn't.
He's been putting up very productive numbers, but I really
love him and Gino Smith, and now that they obviously

(14:00):
have Brock Bowers and Nash gen T, there's a lot
of eyes to look on them. Two guys where Jacobe
Myers can really break out. I think I think he's
prying for another one thousand yard season, especially with the
volume that he's gonna get on that outside. So I
know he's not the you know, lesser much of a
lesser name, but I really do think that he's gonna
put up some numbers in that Raiders offense.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
What about Lad mcconkee year to jump, You know, he
had a really nice year one, but he was pretty
crazy the work that he was able to do as
the only target on that offense.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
And I think they're gonna have a more balanced attack.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
They're gonna have, you know, another receiver out there, and
Trey Harris, who who we talked about that we really like.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Do you think Lad McConkie's a pential guy?

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Like I look at him as a player that I
think could maybe even lead the league in receptions this year.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Oh yeah, he's one hundred percent could.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
I mean, especially what he did last season, he could
probably put up another season he get like just like that,
I think he can get over twelve hundred yards maybe
seven eight touchdowns too. But he's definitely gonna lead that
team in targets. He's gonna lead. I mean, he's gonna
definitely lead in yards, definitely touchdowns, I think too. Like Louise,
they don't really have a tight end honestly, and there
are other two options are Trey Harris and Quentin Johnson.

(15:07):
Quin Johnson hasn't really proven to do much. He's gonna
have to take that next step. Mike Williams now retires.
Trey Harris has done something weird with his contract has
I don't know if he signed yet, but either way,
I think Ladd is primed for that lead role as
wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Won in that offense. All Right, here's a weird team
to bring up.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
I feel like we've mentioned this division a few times
as far, but talk me out of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
I really like what the direction I think that they're
heading on offense. Bringing Liam Cohen, Trevor Lawrence has been
in the league. Now, I think, you know, excuse time's
over for him. Brian Thomas Junior, I think is going
to be one of the top ten receivers in the

(15:47):
league by the end of the year, they go out
and get Travis Hunter, who sounds like is primarily going
to be playing offense. Etn has had some moments in
the league at running back, but we need to see
a little bit more out of him. But I like
the direction that this offense is heading. Of the youth
movement that they have. I think kind of excuse times over,
it's put up our shut up time for Trevor Lawrence,
and I think he could have one of the better

(16:07):
seasons at the quarterback spot. He's one of the players
I'm looking at as one of those down the board
potential dark Corse MVP candidates.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Don't have his number in front of me right now,
but if you're.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Looking at a guy outside of those big name quarterbacks
in the AFC, Trevor Lawrence is sitting here at forty
five to one. So to win the MVP, I think
the Jaguars could could make some noise on the offensive
side of the ball.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
In surprise trying to talk me out of that there.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Yeah, I still think the Texans are going to take
that division. I don't think the Jacks be too far
behind him, though, I think they're definitely heading in that
right direction, But like you said, at this point, it's
really put up.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
He shut up time with Trevor Lawrence. He's going to
have to show.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
That he he can you know, be you know successful
in this league, and he has proven that, especially in
that one stretch of games where he was just absolutely dominant.
They bring in obviously Brian Thomas, like you said, going
to be probably a top ten wide receiver by the
end of the season.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Travis Hunter, what is he going to play that much?

Speaker 5 (17:00):
I think he will, but we don't really know just
yet whether what side of the ball he's going to
be on the Blues Evan Ingram, Trevor Or Travis etn
Is just he can have one great game, then he
could just be a complete thud. So I think there
just needs to be a lot more consistency with the Jags.
But I really don't think they're too far behind that
Texans team. I still think the Texans take it over.

(17:23):
Big fan of CJ. Stroud, I know last year with
that sophomore slump, but I still think they bring in
obviously the two Iowa State boys. I'm gonna be biased
towards them, but Joe Mix and Nick Chubb. I think
their defense is very good. So I think I still
am with the Texans on on in the AFC South.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
All right, what about to make the playoffs? A surprise team?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
We were talking about some some last week in the NFC.
Any teams down the board in the AFC that you like.
I'm looking at DraftKings right now. Some teams jumping off
the page to me, Jags plus one eighty to make
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Some people are buying into the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
They're down there at plus three thirty, Jets plus four
to seventy five. Anybody out of the AFC they think
could be one of those out of nowhere type of
teams we talked about last week with the Commanders. They
were kind of that squad last year. Anybody in the
AFC catching your eyes?

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Honestly, I'm looking at the Patriots at plus one fifteen.
I know you know that division is pretty much clearly
the Bills, but I think they have one of the
easier schedules in the AFC. And I saw on CBS
teams with the easiest schedule in the AFC have finished
with a winning record in seven straight seasons, and also

(18:36):
they weren't favored in one game last season.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
And now I think they're favored in ten or eleven.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
So I think it's a positive, you know, mindset going
into New England. Right off the bat trade May showed
the flashes of potential of what he could do in
a very tough situation with the coaches and talent around him.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
They were one of the bigger free agent spenders.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
In the offseason with Milton Williams, Stefan Piggs, Carlton Davis,
a bunch on that defensive side of the ball. Obviously,
they're bringing Mike Vrabel to kind of you know, revamp
that locker room, that whole entire organization. So I think overall,
with the rebuild the schedule, I think I would lean
their totals at eight and.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
A half right now.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
I think I would lean that over maybe around nine
to ten wins too.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
What about team to miss the playoffs, a team that
a lot of people are looking at as a potential,
you know lock to make it, and a team that
is really going to disappoint and miss the playoffs. Like
just off the top of the page here bills are
plus five hundred Ravens plus three ninety Chiefs plus two
to ninety I'm not I don't think anyone's taking those

(19:38):
Bengals plus one twenty five. That kind of catches my
eye just because of how bad I think that defense
could be. And then when you go to the AFC South,
I think that's probably a one bid league. You like
the Texans, they're sitting there at plus one ten to
miss anybody out of that bunch to kind of catch
your eye to say, hey, maybe maybe one of these teams.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Find their way on the on the outside looking at.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Yeah, you touched on the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (20:01):
I think the Bengals with that defense, that defense was
absolutely atrocious. As good as that offense is and Joe Burrow,
the production and the numbers that that offense puts.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
Up, you still have to stop them.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
You still you can't let you can't win a game
every single game, let up thirty points.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
So I think that Bengals team has.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
A lot more you know, questions and concerns on the
defensive side of the ball. They will put up numbers,
they will put up points on the offensive side, but
you still got to stop them.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
So I think the Bengals may be on you know,
outside looking in by the end of the season.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yeah, the more and more that comes out about this
Schamar Stewart situation six, Like who's going to rush after
the passer? You might as well take all those overs
for the Joe Burrow's passing yards, passing up touchdowns, Jamar
Chase yards catches, T Higgins. Those guys are gonna be if
arms are out there on the field, They're they're gonna

(20:53):
be throwing the ball probably forty five fifty times a game.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
It's gonna be pretty pretty wild there.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
How about rookie Rookie of the Year, You know it's
pretty I'm not gonna say obvious that Ashton Gentzy's going
to win it. I feel like that's the play, the
consensus play for everyone. He's plus three fifty, but cam
Ward just behind him at at plus three fifty.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
I thought it would have been a bit of a
bigger gap there.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Do you think anyone has the chance to win that
award besides the number one pick there at quarterback down
and down in Tennessee or Ashton Gentssey, the top ten
pick at running back for the Raiders. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
I really love RJ. Harvey.

Speaker 5 (21:25):
We've talked about him a lot. I really love him
in that Broncos system. I know they bring in JK. Dobbins,
but I still think r J. Harvey is gonna get
a lot of touches, whether it be just regular handoffs,
whether it be passes out of the backfield. I really
think that they're just going to heavily involve him in
this offense. They he showed what he could do at
UCF his whole college career, so I think bringing him

(21:47):
in in the Sean Payton offense I think is going
to be very, you know, beneficial to r J. Harvey
and his game. It'll probably end up being Ashton Genty
or cam Ward, but anyone down the board I like RJ. Harvey,
maybe even a mar Hampton too, with you know, Najee
Harris just pretty much blowing up his.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Face at that point.

Speaker 5 (22:05):
So I think if he gets those touches, I think
Amarin Hampton could be good at plus a thousand, but
r J.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
Harvey plus two thousand, I think I would lean that way, all.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Right, two final questions. We'll go to the team that
many are projecting to be the worst team in the
NFL this year, definitely the worst team in the AFC,
the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Week one. Starting quarterback for the Browns, you have to
pick between Kenny Pickett, Joe Flaco, Dylan Gabriel or Shadoor Sanders.
Who are you going and why?

Speaker 5 (22:34):
I think me personally, I would just chuck Flacco out
there just to see him slinging around there one last time.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
But I think they go Kenny Pickett. I mean, you
made the trade for him. I guess I think they
go Kenny. I think it'll probably be three weeks before
it'll be Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Or shoudor at that point though, but I think week one,
I think it'll be Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yeah, my mindset kind of with that situation, Like I
don't know what the internal conversations with the head coach
GM and the ownership has been, but like, if I'm
going to try and keep my job, if I'm Kevin
Stefanski or Andrew Berry, like I'm trotting out one of
those young guys, whether it's Dylan Gabriel or should or
Sanders and basically hoping that either one of those guys
hit and they play well and if they don't, and

(23:15):
if you've had the conversation, you're in the position to
get one of these quarterbacks next here in a much
better quarterback class that we've talked about.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
So that's kind of my thinking with that.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
And even if like you go out there and get
four or five wins, but one of these rookie quarterbacks
plays well, you might be able to hold onto your
job and say that we're building for next year. So
that'll be something to watch. I'm fascinated about. They're going
to be an awful team the entire season, but a
lot of eyes will be on that quarterback spot. Last question,
random one with the Browns. A bit of a you know,
unfortunate situation going on with Quinn Shawn Jumpkins, some off

(23:48):
the field stuff. Don't know the entire story. Yet he's
sitting there at eighteen to one to win offensive rookie
the year. I'm surprises still on the board. He hasn't
even signed his contract yet. It sounds like the suspension's probably.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
Coming his way.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Dylan Sampson, though, I think another Brown straft pick at
running backs down there at seventy to one, is that
worth a sprinkle as of right now? Because I think
there's a chance that he's the guy in that backfield.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
I think it's definitely worth a sprinkle, especially at plus
seven hundred with the you know, the uncertainty of quin
John Juwkins. But yeah, seven thousand, I just looking at
it now, that's pretty pretty wild with you know, all
of the we have no clue what the situation is.
Obviously it doesn't seem like it's very good, but yeah,

(24:30):
seven thousand, I just noticed that, and I kind of
really like I might end up taking that.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
Yeah, it's a weird situation.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
You don't know what's going on obviously with off the
field stuff, but you know, things like that where you
got to kind of try and strike while the iron's tide.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
It's probably even I bet you it was probably one hundred.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
To one recently and since that has happened, But you know,
I think that's kind of his backfield that they took
those two guys. Nick Chubbs no longer there could get
a lot of carries, but also on a team that
we were just talking about might.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Be trailing a lot, So who knows.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
How much we'll be run with football, But you know,
potential sprinkle there for for a hil Mary for a
offensive rookie of the Year. But that'll wrap it up
for our AFC preview. We'll head back to college next week.
And touch on some of the storylines we've had a
lot of media days. Maybe do kind of a big
picture college stuff just to wrap up as college teams
will be headed to camp before we know it as well,

(25:20):
so NFL training camp in full swing. We'll be back
here next Wednesday recording as well, you know, live on
the air Tuesday, our our normal recording night, and we'll
be back soon talking some more college football NFL and
before we know it, one day, one day from today
when this is on the air, college football will be
back with.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Kansas State and Iowa State.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
So thanks everyone for tuning in and keep it locked
here on Fox Sports. A gambler and we'll talk to
you next week.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Spreads total and all the prop that's in between, it's
the Gambler.
