Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everybody, and welcome back to football is king here

(00:03):
on Fox Sports The Gambler If you were watching this
live on stream.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
No, I'm not being held hostage. I am in the lid.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
From the Hector Street Hector Street basement, willingly just because
we have a better Wi Fi signal down here than
in my bedroom. I'm on the third floor. So no,
I'm not being held hostage. Yes, we are here to
talk with football. Another college football episode this week, joined
alongside Nick McLay.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
As always, I'm Ryan Coyle Nick this week.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Last week we talked about the top college quarterbacks going
into next season.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
This week, I kind of wanted to touch on some
of just the.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Overall broad top storylines from the off season as we
head into this season, and then go ahead and look
at some of the top games for this year as well.
We have a great one on Labor Day weekend, might
be the number one game in college football on the
schedule for the entire season, and obviously we have a
bunch of conference big time matchups as well. So looking
forward to to hitting on some more big picture of

(00:59):
things as we closer and closer to summer camp.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
But welcome back. Thinking how Harvey.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
It really does like you're being held at gunpoint here downstairs,
but you know, maybe maybe you are, maybe you are
being held at gunpoint. Either way, we got things to
talk about, exciting story a lot of storylines too, and
there's a lot of even good games. Week one we
open up with a bang, So I think it's gonna
be there's gonna be a lot to talk about, a

(01:27):
lot to get into, and this is gonna be a
long season that you know, we have no clue what's
gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I'm excited to get into it. And yeah, that's really it.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I think a lot of parody is expected this year.
Last year, when the first year of.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
The expanded playoff and when we see the nine seed
Ohio State run the table and win it all. And
I think going into the Ohio State was viewed as
many as the favorite, the likely champion, and they have
a bit of a chaotic regular season, but then they
go in on a run and they like the most
dominant team in all of college football down the stretch
and they win it all.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
But there is definitely a parody.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
We see Boise State in the top four, last year,
we see Notre Dame go all the way to the finals.
So I think the NIL is shuffling kind of the
odds at the top a little bit. We don't even
see Alabama make the playoff last year, Clemson had a
bit of a resurgent. Michigan after winning the national championship
the year before doesn't make the playoff at all. So
you know, a lot of changes, and I think that's

(02:26):
good for the sport that we're not seeing you know,
Clemson or Alabama and Georgia every single year in the
final or I think this NIL stuff is going to
help even out the field at the top a little bit,
at least for the teams that are still going to
be competing for national championships. But I'd be remiss if
we did not start which what's I think is not
only the biggest story in college football, but one of

(02:48):
the top five to ten stories that people are gonna
have their eyes on most in sports this year, and
that's Bill Belichick at North Carolina. Obviously, everything that he
did in the past as a coach with the Patriots
and then take a year off last year doing all
the media stuff and then transitioning to becoming a first
time head coach at the college level at North Carolina
certainly an eye opener. But then we have the crazy

(03:09):
girlfriend in the mix as well, and everything that surrounds
her and all the stories, all the articles, videos, podcasts,
you name it that have talked about and included heart.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
That's going to be all eyes on that situation for
the entire year.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I'm excited to see that they kick off the season
against TCU on August thirtieth. But Nick, go into a
little bit about what you think this UNC situation is
going to look like this year.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Yeah, this is going to be really weird. We really
have no clue what to think about it. They do
have a tough task going into TCU. Josh Hoover, I
think is one of the most underrated quarterbacks in this
country and one of the best Big Twelve. I think
that you could actually lead them to a Big twelve
championship this year.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
So they it's gonna be a tough match up.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
His career good a little bit. Yeah, the the thing
I'm kind of most but who.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
The thing I'm most curious to see with this North
Carolina thing is just the transition for Belichick from NFL
coach to college coach. I think he's gonna give a
lot of these young quarterbacks a tough time, these young
you know, offensive play callers a tough times, things that
they haven't seen before.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I think that's gonna be really interesting.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
But how well does the offense look, how well does
that stuff carry over the coaching.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Staff is a bit of a question right now as well.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
He brings Steve Belichick to be his DC, who obviously
worked with the Patriots last year he worked at the
University of Washington, but.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Some NFL play callers on the staff as well. It's
gonna have eyeballs on it all year.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I am interested to see how much the girlfriend is
really involved throughout the entire season.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
But Bill Belichick North Carolina Football.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
It's going to be a a main talking point on
Sports Center on ESPN every single every single week. So
very interested to follow that along see what goes on
goes on with that.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Let's transition out over to one of the games of
the of the year.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
We talked about it at the beginning week one, August thirtieth,
Texas versus Ohio State. I believe that is in Columbus. Yeah,
it's in Columbus. Labor Day weekend, that's going to be exciting.
You could argue maybe number one and number two in
the country potentially in the first eight p.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Top twenty five poll. Butt stoughts on that matchup.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
You know, shout out to those two teams for even
with conference alignments, still agreeing to come come together and
play that game. And you know, I don't think a
loss in week one necessarily hurts you as much as
it did in the past. Sometimes that that could be
a you know, a season killer right there. But now
we saw Ohio State last year with two losses even
still be able to go to the College Football Playoff
and win it all.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
But just s thoughts on that matchup week one kicking
off the season.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah, it's going to be a great matchup.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
And like you said already, in today's college football are
it doesn't really put a blemish on your record if
you do lose this game. Obviously, you know you don't
really want to afford to lose an early matchup. But
in today's college football, it shows that you can lose
one early and you know, work your way back towards
the end of the season. And with those late late

(06:24):
season victories, you know, there's late season losses or mean
a lot more than late season or early season losses.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
That's a very obvious statement. But if you want to get.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Lose them, you want to lose them early and you
want to end the season on a hot note. So
I think, you know, we don't really need to look
into much. I guess depending on how the game goes
of the end result of this. But how these teams
kind of progress after this, how they match up right
away and see what they need to learn and see
what they need to do to beat the top teams
in this country. So we start off with a bang.

(06:55):
So I don't really know which way that one's going
to go. Tough being in Ohio State, you know, Texas
coming or yeah, Texas and Arch coming in debut in
the shoe, that's gonna be tough. So I think that's
gonna be you know, early test for him, young guys,
see what we see what he's made of.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yeah, I think I saw Ohio State is a three
point favorite there at home. You know, pretty standard there.
Arch is real, you know, first start with it being
his team. Obviously got a few starts last year, but
this is the first time and you know, it's fully
him he's gonna be the guy every snap, you know,
as long as he's healthy under center of starting in
week one and Julian saying it's gonna be his first chance,

(07:33):
most likely as a starter at Ohio State, it sounds like.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
They're having a bit of a quarterback competition right now.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Obviously, always a bunch of talented quarterbacks there, but it
sounds like he's got the upper leg a former five
star guy himself, and the pressures on from day one.
You know, Texas could be playing ul Monroe and Ohio
State could be playing Southern Miss week one, but instead
they're they're rolling it out and you know, battle battles
on from day one. Jeremiah Smith, Let's see what he
has in store for his sophomore year. Obviously we get

(08:01):
the week zero appetizer with a few games including Iowa State,
but this is when when the big boys come out,
and in Texas at Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
No better way I think.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
To start the season there, and especially with the you know,
recent trajectory that Texas has been on after having you know,
pretty much a decade of down years in football and
now they're they're kind of on their way back. So
excited to see that and if they can get really
officially over.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
The top this year. Another big picture item that wanted
to switch or touch on.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
We'll kind of switch back and forth. We were listening
to the car a little bit about this morning. But
Florida State, you know, they kick off the season last
year and Week zero against Georgia Tech, they lose at
the Buzzer in Ireland on a field goal and the
season really just spirals out of control from there. I
think they finished too to ten. The DJU experiment was
a colossal failure. And this is after the year before.
You know, they're a Jordan Travis injury away from maybe

(08:52):
even winning the national title just two seasons ago, and
then they completely fall.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Off the face of the earth this year.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Faults on Mike Norbel having the ability to maybe bounce
back this year, get that program back to nine to
ten wins and get themselves back and competing for an
acc that you know, it looks like it's going to
be dominated by Clemson for the most part, Miami in
the mix, SMU in the mix of can Florida State.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Get back to the top as well?

Speaker 4 (09:15):
I don't know if they can get quite to the top,
But it'll be hard for them to get back to
the bottom like they were last year.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
That was pretty bad. But they start out with the bang.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
They start up with a test, and if you know
you can beat a team like Alabama to start out
the year, you know you're gonna be looking good. I
don't think they will. I think that spread was at thirteen.
I saw, maybe it it was double digits. I saw,
but I don't. I don't think they'll really be that
much better. I think they maybe go five anywhere from
five to seven wins. But facing an Alabama team with

(09:49):
you don't really know who's gonna play quarterback for them.
I guess at this point, I guess it's Simpson. But
the supporting cast around him is absolutely elite. So if
they can get that quarter play going, the quarterback play going,
think they could be a dangerous team. Obviously, you know,
not thinking, but I think Alabama will be a good
team if that quarterback play can be you know, do
and manageable.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah, and Alabama brings it back Ryan Grubb, well, I
guess they don't bring him back.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Kiln the boor brings him back. Ryan Grubb was.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
The OC at Washington. He becomes the OC for the
Seattle Seahawks last year. Alabama obviously has some up and
downs last year in the first year under the Boer,
Ryan Grubb parts ways with the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
He's now the OC at Alabama. So I'll be interesting
to see if they're able to get.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Back to their offense with Simpson being more of the
pure kind of pocket passer instead of the athlete.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
With Milroe, I'm in a lot more design runs.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Let's see what Kalin de Boor does with a quarterback
that kind of fits his offense and his skill set
more that that'll be an interesting thing to watch it.
And like we were talking about at the beginning two
with Florida State, can they get back to relevancy? Last
year was an absolute joke and absolute dumpster fire. If
you bet against them every game, you were a rich man.
Last year they were a fun kind of hate watch too,

(11:01):
because I just despise watching DJU and that was just
a complete train wreck. I'm surprised they even let Norvell
keep his job. But the pressures on this year, the
pressure is a mens. We already talked about one great
game Week one. How about another great one? LSU at
Clemson Tiger on Tiger. Two teams that are entering the
year playoff expectations. I think Clemson has a little bit

(11:24):
less pressure on their back after the good year that
they had last year getting back to the College Football playoffs,
But LSU and Brian Kelly, I think has a lot
of pressure if they don't go to the playoff this year,
I think he's out of a job to the top
quarterbacks in the country. With nus Meyer and Kate club Nick,
two of the bigger head coaches, with Dabo and Brian
Kelly two of the bigger brands in Clemson and LSU.

(11:46):
They gave us a couple bangers on Week one, But
just thoughts on that matchup, and we talked about Clemson
a lot last week, but thoughts on LSU and the pressure.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
That they have this year in the SEC.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah, they got a lot of pressure. They also have
one of the highest pay rolls in the NIL this
transfer class. I don't get there, up there in the top,
if not the top, But like you said, Brian Kelly's
definitely I don't know the hot seat, but if they don't,
if they don't go far, he's probably not coming back.
And to come out in you got to go to
Clemson Week one. You know, this is a game where
you got to show it and lay it on the

(12:16):
line and come out with a bang. And now, like
you said earlier, the earlier losses don't really mean much,
but an early win could mean a lot.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Of LSU team and take that in the SEC.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
But save like we touched on Clemson pretty high on
them a week ACC conference that you know, I think
is pretty much in their hands at this point. I
don't see Miami doing anything. Maybe SMU comes up, But
I think for LSU this game means a lot more
to them than it does for Clemson.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, and Brian Kelly and LSU they always play a
tough team Week one. I want to say, during his
time at LSU, he's oh and three in week one.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
I don't think they've won since nineteen with Joe Burrow.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Yeah, the I know, because last year was USC, they lost,
the year before was Florida State, and I think they
even lost the yeah the year before that as well.
But yeah, they they've been a team that hasn't gotten
off to a good start. So like you said, I
think it's pivotal for them to be able to get
off to a good start this year and kind of
assert assert that dominance.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
I want to circle over to the Big Ten now.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
I think, you know, all eyes are usually on the SEC,
but the Big Ten, they've won the last two national titles,
and I think you can, you know, argue there might
be more better teams in the top ten this year.
Are a few more teams in the top ten out
of the Big Ten and the SEC to to at
least start this season. We have Ohio State, which is

(13:46):
going to be in play for number one. I think
that they're the betting favorite at DraftKings right now. Michigan,
they should be in for a bounce back. You know,
they lost so many players from the national championship team,
but they.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Kind of stayed afloat last year with no quarterback on
the roster.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
They take down Ohio State in the final game of
the year, and then they bring in Bryce Underwood.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
We didn't even touch on him last week.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
He's going to be the star freshman quarterback for Michigan
getting the ball from day one. Penn State, all the
pressure in the world on them this year. I really
don't think it could be. You know, we'll get him
next year. Added to all the pressures on them. Oregon
was a number one team in the country last year,
and then you have Indiana, who was in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
They're probably gonna be in the mix for nine to
ten wins.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
And another team that people are really hyping up Illinois
with everything that they brought back, their quarterbacks back. The
Big Ten is loaded, the Big Ten is stacked. Just
give me your thoughts on that conference, big picture wise,
and any other teams that you think could could make
some noise and emerge.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
We kind of touched on Indiana Illinois.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
As to you know, non football programs really more so
basketball schools. But I think we could realistically see either
one of those teams in the playoffs as well.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Yeah, I think this, I mean college football, maybe even yeah,
just college football. Right now, it's pretty much just SEC
and Big Ten. They are the two dominant conference is
that just run run this league, run the top ten.
I think Oregon's a nice spot at plus two seventy.
I know it's not that crazy of odds, but I
think they're gonna be great. I know young quarterback dot
Dae Moore, who's another quarterback we didn't even touch on yet,

(15:14):
but I think he can run that offense pretty well
had that one year under his belt. I mean he
didn't play at all, but you know, you get to
r in the system, going to know what's going on.
So I like Oregon in that spot. But like you said,
I like Indiana. I think I like Indiana a little
more than Illinois out of those two. But I think
this is a conference that is, you know, top heavy,

(15:34):
but it's still up for grabs because Penn State hasn't
gotten over the hump. Ohio State's you know, obviously gonna
be the top dog there, but never know what them
with the young quarterback. So if I had to choose
right now, I think I'd go Oregon at plus two seventy.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, it's it's gonna be it's gonna be a battle,
but that's gonna be fun. And I think you said
it well, it's like this is really right now a
two conference for the big dogs type thing, the Big
Ten in the SEC. You know basketball, you still have
a decent balance just because you know, the Big East exists.
The Big Twelve still has your your schools like like
a Kansas, like a Baylor, but it's really being dominated

(16:12):
in college footba are now by the SEC and the
Big Ten, and I think you can we can all
say that the Big Ten right now is on top.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
The last two national champions.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Will be very interesting to see who has like a
flop season. I think we're going to get one of
these teams at the top that we're expecting a lot
of Could it be Indiana. Could they be in for
regression after last year Illinois? I heard someone yesterday I
was listening to a podcast. I forget who exactly said it,
but they are very reminiscent of what Oklahoma State was

(16:42):
last year. And Oklahoma State was a team that returned,
you know, nineteen of twenty two starters, five offensive lineman
that that started the year before, one of the best
running backs in the country, a seventh year quarterback, I experience,
head coach, everything in between.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
That that would make sense.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
To be a you know, have a really good year
and they go out and have a three and nine season.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
One of these teams is gonna flop.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
One of these teams is going to disappoint, and it's
gonna be interesting to see who that is.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
That's kind of why why we play the games, why
we rout, roll out the ball and see what happens.
Another game, though.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
I want to touch on this year, and it's one
of the if not biggest games on the schedule every
single season. I'm looking an article from twenty four to
seven Sports right now and they have it at eight.
But that's the Ohio State at Michigan. And we know
what Michigan did last year and their piss poor kind
of season. They still go to Ohio State, win that game,
they plant the flag, everything in between, but their Ohio

(17:33):
State goes on the run that kind of wakes them up.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
They go win the national championship. Four straight losses to Michigan.
I think it is right now, or it's at least
it's yeah, it's four and yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
So the question I want to post to you if
Ryan Day loses to Michigan again, does he get fired
even if he.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Goes and wins another national championship.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
No, you can't. I don't think you can.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
You don't think I know, well, the rivalry is there,
But if he brings you two titles.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
You can't fire him. You can't. That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
I feel like That's what I mean. Rational person people
are gonna know.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
People are definitely gonna vouch for it, just because how difficult.
That rivalry is, but I just don't think. I think
at the time, probably if I'm an Ohio State fan, yeah,
get him out of here. But I think if he
still does the turnaround like he did list bands season
and wins him a national title, I don't think. I
don't think you can ever fire a coach you back

(18:31):
to back national titles.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
I think it would be silly as well, But it
is a It is a question that is out there
and that will be out there.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
I don't necessarily understand why.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
I could see it being if Michigan has a super
bad season this year, like going into that game, they're
three and eight, and they find a way to to
be Ohio State again.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
But it doesn't make much sense to me. It's it's
one game.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
I understand it's the rivalry, but I know they were
so Hi State fans that were pissed off, and even
Michigan fans are like, yeah, well we still beat you,
So the national championship doesn't mean as much.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
I don't don't. I don't get it at all.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
You got a ring a ring.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
I don't understand it. But all right, let's get back
to one more big picture thing. We'll touch on one
more of these key games. A team that's been I
think fluttering, I think would be a good word, or
maybe headed towards a demise of what was once a
really proud program. I'm all Tigers and and Hugh Freeze

(19:33):
going there. The thought was that he would bring them
back to national relevancy. I definitely think they're behind schedule.
They're kind of like Oklahoma right now. Ever since Lincoln
Riley left, like they've been headed in the opposite direction.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
I'm actually a little bit higher on Oklahoma this year.
I was very low on the last year.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
I really wanted to get into Oklahoma. I'm glad you
said that.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Yeah, so, I guess you can touch on both of them.
Both of them bring in new quarterbacks. John Mattier from
Washington State goes to Oklahoma. Their in need of a
big year.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Bre A Bull's seat is very hot, and Hugh frees
his seats very hot as well.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
He's been killing it and recruiting over the past few years.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
It sounds like they finally got the quarterback situation situated.
I guess who are you expecting more out of this year?
With Oklahoma and Auburn and his name escaped me. But
Auburn brings in Jackson Arnold, the former Oklahoma quarterback, to
be their quarterback this year, so you're expecting more of
who's got more pressure between those two programs who are
kind of on a downward slot.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
I think I'm a lot higher on Oklahoma, But at
the same time, I think there's a lot more pressure
on them with Lincoln Riley being the head coach there
and not having success of past few years. So I
think there's a lot more pressure in Oklahoma to do well.
And I think I mean, their schedule is real tough,
so they're gonna have to get over that. But they
bring in John Mattier. Really loved to him at Washington State.

(20:49):
He was electric to watch. One of the more athletic
guys that you know was in the transfer porter at
Portal as a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
Duel Thrick.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
I think I saw stat if you took away his
sack yard diage, which is one of the dumbest stats
in college football, that he would have had over a
thousand rushing yards, which is crazy for a for a
college running back at Washington State. I think really only
main thing with him is the size, but I think
he's someone that could you know, surprise some people in

(21:23):
an SEC that's obviously a top dollar conference. So I'm
a lot higher on Oklahoma than I am in Auburn
in this situation, all.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Right, And to wrap it up, we'll stay in the SEC.
This was one of the games of the year last year.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
It certainly delivered.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Alabama gets out to a hugely, Georgia comes storing back,
and then Ryan Williams makes one of, if not the
plays of the year. I'm in college football, and these
two teams will meet up again in the regular season
this year.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
Never really you know, did that in recent memory. It
would usually just be in the SEC title game.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
But we're seeing these guys swear off swear off more
in the regular season.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Now.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Alabama travels to Georgia on September twenty seventh. That was
the peak of Alabama season last year, I think winning
that game. Obviously they don't even make the playoff. Georgia
has a bit of an up and down season. Very
interested to see what they do. Who's running that quarterback?
If it's the same guys he is escaping me from
last year Gunner Stockton, Yeah, very interested to see if

(22:22):
he's the guy because he kind of fits that stet
symbedded mold of just don't mess up the game.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
Really the old Nick Saban.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
And Alabama formula with their with those guys, and it
sounds like Tys Simpson is going to be the guy
at Alabama as of right now. Ryan Williams talking a
lot I saw recently with John Gruden, but just interested
what your thoughts are on that matchup.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Alabama going to Georgia. Does Georgia get revenge this year?

Speaker 1 (22:46):
And do you look at both of these teams as
playoff teams as we head into the twenty twenty five season.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Yes, it's tough because both these teams are kind of,
you know, different looks now with their quarterbacks. They're kind
of different errors than what we were growing up. There,
different teams and what we are that we're used to.
But as of now, I think in Georgia, I think
I'm gonna take Georgia. There a quarterback that has already
played in tough situations with a Georgia team that always

(23:14):
brings into tough defense.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
I'm not really I don't know if.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
I'm too confident in Simpson right now, but I am
very confident in his supporting cast. So I think if
Simpson just doesn't make any bad decisions in this specific
game or I guess in the season, if he's just
very manageable, I think this Alabama team could very I
think in that situation, Alabama would be more of a
playoff team than Georgia.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah, I'm surprised to see this SEC championship winner. It
could be tied to the regular season schedules as well,
but Alabama plus three eighty the second favorite, Georgia plus
four hundred right behind on I thought Georgia probably would
have been flip flopped behind Texas there a plus two fifty.
But that'll do it for this episode of Football Is King.
Next week will transition back over or get some NFL talking.

(24:02):
But it's good to think we're really starting to cover
all the bases, and you know, OTAs are happening right
now with NFL. We'll maybe talk about some of the
reports coming out about that and really start.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Turning our heads towards towards training camp.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
The off season really for the most parts, behind us,
the portals pretty much closing college football, So the pads
will be coming on soon. You know, these guys will
get a few week break and then they'll be ready
to go and football here. Football will be here before
you know it. With watching some highlights just the other
day and just like all right, I'm ready to hear
Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, you know, on the TV again.

(24:35):
So as always, everyone keep it here on Fox Sports.
The Gambler Football is king. We'll be back next week
talking some more NFL stuff and we'll talk to you
guys soon
