One to one point five. Yeafem Madison's classic ron that Floyd figs twice
is nice. Son. It's forTuesday. As we're now joined by Josh
Gallwitt's owner of Legacy Exteriors. Josh, how are you? I'm doing fantastic?
How are you? I'm doing greattoday. Obviously you're staying right now
because you're inside. But yes,we're quite a bit of rain earlier today
we have and it sounds like it'snot gonna let up yet. No,
(00:23):
no, I don't think it iseither. And so this leads to our
natural conversation today as we have youon for our Beyond the Studs Tuesday conversation
about gutters and gutter guards. SoI learned something new when we first talked
about this topic months ago. Butyou told me most gutters, open face
gutters are designed to fail. That'sright, which blows my mind. Yeah,
(00:44):
I mean, if you think aboutit, anytime debris gets inside them,
it will impact the results of howthey're designed to operate. Right,
So they are just literally being openedtheir design to fail because they're designed to
have it be completely clear and freedebreeze, so that way, when it
(01:07):
captures all the water that comes downfrom the roof, it gets it flows
freely out the downspout and away fromyour house. Yeah, which to me
again is crazy. And I knowI said this to you a couple of
months ago when we first talked aboutthis topic. But that's what's installed on
right new homes. New builds facegutters, right, you know. Yeah,
I think a lot of new subdivisions, new homes, you're not dealing
with the with the trees. Yeah, you know, trees. Trees grow
(01:32):
up, and the trees become ayou know, eventually over our houses and
then they are dropping, you know, whatever it is, leaves any kind
of debris that might be Yeah, and and even your shingle grit, you
know, eventually coming down off yourroof. Lots of things like that can
(01:53):
impact the how the gutters are operating. And you know, we need to
have our gutters clear and free.So whether it's in the summertime or spring,
we have to have that water that'scollected get away from the house.
It's away from the foundation, sowe don't have you know, cracks,
foundations or leaks in our basement thingsof that nature. But in the wintertime,
(02:15):
we want if our gutters are clogged. That can create an ice dam
or some sort of problem that couldbe even more costly because ice dam,
as you know, can work itsway back inside our homes. And ideally
we want to keep the weather outside. Ideally, yeah, that is the
goal. And so you know,we think so much about as you kind
(02:36):
of mentioned there in the summer, the fall with water, the rain that's
coming out and you know, downthrough our gutters. But you bring up
a good point point with win throughtwo. When that snow up on our
roof begins to melt, that's gonnaneed to go somewhere too, through our
gutters. So you know, youwant to make sure that everything is protected
in those gutters aren't clogged. SoI might have a solution. You might
have a solution, which is whereI'm going here. Let me reset we're
(02:59):
talking with you, Scout. It'sowner Legacy Exteriors Beyond the Studs Tuesday.
No matter wants the exterior project youwant to tackle on the exterior of your
home is that they can do itfor you. Legacy dash Exteriors dot Com.
They're number two, two one, three thousand. So if you love
risking your life, you love climbingup on top of your roof, you
enjoy cleaning out gutters. I don'tknow if I've ever met someone who enjoys
(03:20):
doing that, right, I wouldsay that that's a possibility exactly. I'm
give you their impossibility. So ifyou do not enjoy doing those legacy exteriors,
Josh, you guys have an awesomeoption for people, master Shield gutter
guards. Yeah. So master Shieldis a filter product, so it's a
(03:40):
surgical grade filtration system. It's wellthan an aluminum body. We match the
pitchy roof and by installing it inbetween the starters first row shingles and then
it clips on the front row ofthe gutters. Now, the filter that
allows the water in is fifty micronsbig, so that's smaller than the old
(04:00):
spore. So it's actually going tokeep out of human hair. So virtually
all debris is going to be filteredout and only water is going to enter
that gutter from here on out, which one leads to someone not having to
clean out their guts. It's it'sa completely self cleaning system as well,
so you don't have to clean it. You don't have to clean your gutters.
(04:23):
It's a get it and forget itproduct and talk about to the technology
behind master shield because you mentioned howyou match these to the pitch of the
roofs, but how that really helpsthe water flow making sure that is obviously
stays off the roof, but alsostays away from the foundation of your home.
So here's how I look at it. So when our leaves are starting
(04:44):
to come down, you'll see themhit your roof and kind of tumble down
that roof, right, and thenthey hit your gutters, So your gutters
almost act like arms for all thosedebris. So it's a catch all.
So what we're essentially doing by matchingthat p show the roof and clip it
on the front lip of the gutters, we are essentially adding another layer of
(05:06):
shingles over your gutters, but onlyour layer shingles that we're adding captures all
the water going in so and filterseverything out. And it is a filter
self cleaning system. So some andthere's other filter systems out on the market.
The problem with the other ones arethe debris might cling to the filter
(05:28):
itself, so you might have toclean what you just bought, sure,
which kind of defeats the purpose inmy opinion. Right, Yeah, and
met it's free. So what mastershield does is there's a lot of different
design and patents to it that thatbring out the self cleaning element to it.
But essentially what it does, it'sgot a woven filter to it,
(05:51):
so when the leaf comes down ina rainstorm, it sits on top of
the filter, it will not onlydry out eventually on top, but it
will create airflow channels and dry outthat leaf from underneath as well. And
then it's got a debris release systemso that filth that leaf cannot stick to
(06:11):
the filter, so it becomes completelyself cleaning, which is what you want
in a gutter guard. Right,there's a there's I always put it to
people like this, So there's there'sthere's hundreds of different gutter guards on the
market. Right, there's about andyou want your gutters, your gutter guard
to do two things. You youwanted to keep out all the debrief from
(06:34):
your gutters, and you don't wantto clean what you just bought. Right,
So on the first one, there'sabout four that can physically keep out
all the leaves from your gutters. But then in the end there's only one
that you don't have to clean whatyou just bought. And that's master Shield
and it actually comes with a moneyback warranty on on the product itself by
(06:57):
the manufacturerwitson be on this thus Tuesdayon iba yea f m our topic gutter
guards today and how important those arefor your home. On your home maybe
is the better choice of words therenow, Johns, you just laid out
there are hundreds of options when itcomes to these, and you just kind
of laid out, in our opinion, at least yours in mind, how
master Shield stands above the rest. But I think it's important to note to
(07:20):
the installation of these gutter guards becausewe can hear advertisements wherever we're going about,
Hey, you can buy this brandof gutter guards from your local,
you know, big box store.Well, there's a little difference between me
dangling on a ladder or on myrole of trying to install a gutter guard
and a professional like you and yourteam at Legacy Exteriors. Yeah, as
(07:42):
you point out, there's hundreds ofdifferent options out there, but zero competition.
Yeah, And that's how I lookat it, because if I think
if people actually did the research anddidn't assume that everything worked as it's advertiser,
as it should they would come tothe same findings that that we've come
(08:05):
to carrying it for twenty years,is that master Shield is the only option
and the only one that's going todo everything I needed to do up there.
And part of that is the installationpart of things. So all our
guys are trained and certified by themanufacturer, and it does have to be
installed a certain way to not onlyfor the master shield to be warranted,
(08:28):
but for that roof that you haveup there to be fully warranted as well.
So master Shield's the only one thatI know of we actually went and
installed for all the different Shigo manufacturersout there, and the way we install
will never affect that rough warranty inanyway. And I we're a master early
roofer. Yeah, I can tellyou that there are plenty that would avoid
(08:50):
out rough warranties out there by howthey install, because they could impact that
rough And that's something that's so importantto note because people need to be aware
of that. I try to installthese themselves or even have a exterior contract
or do it for them, youneed to make sure that that exterior contractor
as well realizes what you just said, because you don't want to lose the
(09:11):
warranty in your roof not and Ithink one they don't know it and or
the company that they're possibly having thework done by didn't tell them, you
know. So either way, Ithink people need to be aware of that
because that could be a big dealand that could impact them financially down the
road. Yeah. Talk with JoshGwitt's, owner of Legacy Exteriors on ib
(09:35):
FM. So as we kind ofwrapped this up, we're to our topic
today, master shield gutter guards.People can come into your showroom and see
a great display, so they canactually see these in person, right,
Yeah. So the biggest thing thatI think people will find when they see
this in person is they will lookat and go, whoa, jeez.
The course that's going to keep outall the debris, but can water actually
get in? And so we havea running water display where you can.
(10:01):
It's got clear in caps and aclear gunner so people can busily see how
it works, so we can.The neat part about master Shield is it's
not a gravity fed system. Sothere's one of the patterns. It's called
hydro vortex technology, and all thatreally means is the faster the water is
coming down and coming down off thatroof, the actual better and less filter
(10:24):
it uses to capture it. It'skind of amazing. So I think people,
if they're interested in gutter guards atall, I highly recommend coming in
and seeing it. Yeah, Imean, I think well, as you
mentioned there, people are going tobe blown away by this technology. You
can get the address of Legacy Exteriorson their website. The Legacy dash Exteriors
dot Com also suggest you pick upthe phone just call Nikki A two two
(10:46):
one three thousand. You can stopinto that showroom. As Josh mentioned,
check out those master shield gutter guardsquickly. I know I said, we're
wrapping this up, but if peoplethink they have an issue with their actual
gutters as well, you guys notonly can install new gutters, but also
may be able to, you know, fix that existing gutter system on a
home. Absolutely. One of thefirst things we do is make sure that
(11:09):
gutter system is not only pitched properly, but is just in good condition,
because we don't want to put abrand new system over a bad situation.
But right now, if they callbecause of this very segment right here,
who we are going to give awayfree gutters and down spouts with the purchase
of master Shield. We didn't eventalk about this, but it literally just
(11:33):
came to my head right now.So repeat that for everybody. So if
they call based on the segment andthey're interested in master Shield gutter guards,
we will give away free seamless guttersand down spouts with the purchase of master
Shield. Two two one, threethousand. That's at least worth exploring.
