(00:00):
What at one point five? Yeah, yeah, Fam Madison's classig ron K
two for Tuesday, thorough good thereas we want to come in at Josh
Gowit's owner of Legacy exter hears. How are you? I'm doing great?
How are you? I'm doing greattoday too. I don't know why I'm
kind of out of it today.I gotta get in the swing of things.
You have those days being a littleout of it. Yeah, yeah,
(00:20):
sure, I don't know what's goingon today. My mind's gonna clear
rut. Yeah, maybe that is. Maybe it is. I think,
you know what we kind of talkedabout this off the year. Maybe I'm
a little depressed because I realized today'sAugust fifteenth, in the summer's almost time.
What did I do? That canput you into depression real quick?
Yes, it can, especially whenyou think about here in the state of
Wisconsin, we get like three threeand a half months of this weather,
(00:41):
right, yeah, not a lotof time to enjoy the nice and hot
Well no, no, no it'snot. But hey, today I want
to talk about something that we've nevertalked him up before, and that is
doors, which you do over atLegacy Exteriors. But before we dive into
that. Yesterday rain quite a bitof it across southern Wisconsin, especially the
morning into the midday, and thenwe saw a little sun yesterday afternoon.
(01:03):
But people's gutters got to work outyesterday. Yeah, it felt like we
doubled the rainfall on the entire yearyesterday. Right. Had you ever seen
an aerial flood warning? No,I saw that come across yesterday. I'm
like, what, I know,a flood warning? Yeah, I saw
that come across yesterday. But Iwanted to bring that up because the people
notice issues yesterday, right, maybethey maybe things were plugged up, they
(01:25):
didn't have the master shield, gutterguards, and so waters overflowing. It
was just a mess if that occurredtwo two, one, three thousand called
Legacy Exteriors. Good. Yeah,we had a bunch of calls for you
know, people had experiencing leaks inthe roof I mean, so we had
such a dry summer. Yeah thatif people had issues with their roofs,
(01:47):
they weren't exposed. Sure, youknow what I mean. So yesterday definitely
exposed a lot of those issues withthe homes. And you're right, you
know a lot of debris and whateverhas fallen over the last a month.
Yeah, people aren't thinking, oh, I should go out and clean my
clean out my gutters. But lastnight sure made him realize that my gutters
are clogged and I need to dosomething about it. But master shields a
(02:12):
grade option obviously, it's a surgicalgrade stainless steel filter gutter guard. It'll
filter out everything but water, andI mean everything because you can't put a
human hair through it. It's crazy. And we've talked about this before,
but kind of refresh people on howthose kind of match the pitch of the
roof too correct. Yeah, wego in between the starter strip and first
row shingles and we match that pitchof roof whatever it is you have exactly,
(02:37):
and then it clips onto the frontlip of the gutter. And then
we use a panhead stainless steel zipscrew to secure it to the front lip
of the gutter and comes with adouble lifetime warranty. Wow, double lifetime
warranty, Yeah, meaning it transfersto the next home on match you got
you That is Jascall. It's alegacy exteer. It's kind of talking about
the weather we saw yesterday a lotof rain across southern Wisconsin. If you
(02:59):
think we have an issue with youor gutters, give them a call two
to one at three thousand. Ifyou notice some issues yesterday, really think
about gutter guards too, and mastershields. We just talked there with Josh.
But I want to transition into doors. We talk so much obviously about
everything else you do at legacy exteriors, whether it be gutters, roofing quickly
with roofing two. Yeah, wedon't always mention that you guys do essentially
(03:22):
any kind of roof, whether it'sasphalt, rubber, metal, you just
do it all right, Yeah, because some people specialize in one or the
other, but that's not legacy exteriors, No. I mean we do flatwork,
steep work, and lots of differentkinds of materials, you know.
Same with the signing, you know, we don't specialize in vinyl signing.
We do vinyl, we do cementboard, we do LP smart site,
(03:43):
so a lot of options for everysingle homeowner, you know, depending on
their design or budget basis. Yeah, customizable is really a great word with
legacy exteriors when you're looking at whatyou want to do, And that's a
good transition into doors because that issuch a big thing for people, especially
you know, that front door, their entry door onto their home, because
that's the curb of Biel that's gonnagrab people's eye. That could be the
(04:06):
statement. It could statement of Yeah, and you guys offer obviously, you
know, as we just talked aboutthe different options with rough thing and siding
everything else, you do the samething with doors. But per Via is
your main brand, right, Yeah, so we we we obviously carry a
lot of different brands, a lotof different manufacturers, but Provia is our
main door manufacturer, just because welove the design aspects Provia has and we
(04:30):
love the quality that the Provia brings. Their Embark series, for instance,
is actually there the most energy efficientdoor in the United States. And then
you go down to their legacy steeldoors and they are made with twenty gauge
steel and they're made in a certainway that they're not gonna break down like
(04:53):
other steel doors that you've should haveseen in the past, where they can
actually rot from the inside out likeyou see steel doors by pro Via.
You know they're not going to dothat. Yeah, So it's and then
they have two fiberglass series in betweenthose two, so a lot of different
options not only for design wise, but for you know, budget. Yeah.
(05:13):
Talk with Josh Gallwitt's owner of LegacyExteriors here on a Beyond the Studs
Tuesday, and I'll be yeah, you have fim. I'm a layman when
it comes to doors, which someonechoose a steel door because that would last
longer, kind of like the thoughtprocess with a metal roof. Yeah,
No, Steal is going to bemore on the budget, budget friendly,
budget friendly option, whereas they havethree fiberglass lines and the Embark series is
(05:41):
their top of the line that's actuallytwo and a half inches thick, foam
filled. It's it's a beautiful, gorgeous door. You can have it look
like any wood you want, whethercherry, mahogany, oak, and have
it stained in any stain that youthat you want. And when you get
that door in front of you,it's gonna wo is gonna look like it
(06:02):
wis looked like that. That's howbeautiful it actually is. Yeah, that's
pretty amazing. That's one of theoptions when it comes to doors. You
can check out over at a LegacyExterior. So when I want to customize
that door as well, you know, let's say I want to I don't
know, glass windows somewhere on thattransom, if that's the correct term.
Things like that, we can literallysit down and kind of work with your
(06:26):
team and design this. Yeah.Absolutely, So the design processes is quite
extensive when it comes to pro Vial, but it walks you through it beautifully
as far as every single not onlydesign element option. But you know,
you can choose, you know, whatever hardware you want colored. When it
comes to the glass package that youwere talking about, you can choose from
(06:48):
one of several different standard options. As far as their decorative glass, you
can privacy glass, but you canactually make your own custom glass really.
Yeah. So if you have adesign in mind or shape a shape a
design like we were actually going toshow the capabilities of Provia, we were
(07:12):
going to have our logo from Legacyput in that glass. So they can
do any of that, all ofthat. So there's no limit on what
can be designed and done, andso it can truly be not only that
statement piece, but be so uniquethat you'll be the only one on the
block. Yeah, that's very cool. And you know when we want to
(07:33):
do stuff like that, do wecome out to your warehouse and we work
with a Prova team there. Yeah, come come to the showroom. We
will take a picture we can whatwe can do is take a picture of
your front of your house. Yeah, and then once we have that,
we's go on the design app, design it all up, pick the door
and colors and all those options thatwe want to you want to have in
(07:55):
your home. When it's all saidand done, we'll get a picture of
that door and we can actually putit on the front of your home,
on your entry door, and soyou can see what that door you just
design is going to look like onyour home, much like you can do
with siding and roughing Andy in thethree season four season Life Rooms too.
Yeah. So it's it's a lotof different options there, so you can
(08:16):
be you don't be afraid to bebold with your creativity, so you can
literally take chances and see before youever order it, before you commit to
it, what that would look likeon your home. Yeah. Talking with
Jess Gawit's of Legacy Exteriors Beyond theStuds Tuesday, he mentioned they're going into
their showroom. Get that address ontheir website Legacy dash Exteriors dot com.
(08:37):
Let's kind of talk about colors ofdoors because that's what could be grabbing people's
attention. Right you want to bethe house in the block that stands out
what's popular right now with colors bold. So when you say bold, is
that a bright, bright bright colors? Yeah, so that's in right now.
But we get them all, youknow, shipped to our warehouse.
(08:58):
But so, we just had alady that designed a door for her house
and it was one of those bignine foot doors, and then she chose
a wood green exterior, but thenshe chose a translucent red and I was
like, in my head, Iwas like, man, I don't I
don't know about that. I don'tI don't recall. But when that door
(09:26):
came, it was honestly one ofthe most beautiful doors I've ever seen in
my life. Wow. Well whatyou saw though wood green through the red,
I mean, it was just gorgeous. Well it what's cool about that
is, you know, when peopleyou know, call you guys at TUSU
Win three thousand and work with legacyexteriors, you had that experience too from
seeing what other people did. Absolutely, you know. Yeah, so during
(09:48):
the you know, obviously we've donethousands of thousands of homes, but so
we come with that experience, butthe technology that we bring to the table.
I was talking to somebody the otherday about how not only is it
a great experience for the homeowners, but it's made us better as designers.
(10:09):
Sure, because one, we've beenthere, done that. Yeah, we've
taken a lot of design elements andwe've we've seen it over the years and
we know what's gonna look good,or what's gonna work in the end,
color combos, you name it.It's just a great experience all the way
around. Right. Talking with JoshGallwit's owner of Legacy Exteriors Beyond the Studs
(10:31):
Tuesday, talking about doors one ofthe many things they can do to the
exterior of your home. So aslong as around this topic about doors and
usually you know that's that piece that'sgonna make your house stand out on the
block and to grab your tension.I would think typically when people are getting
a new door, they're kind ofdressing up that entire kind of entry way,
be porch, even if they haveone of those. Let's talk about
(10:52):
some of the things you can dowith Fipon products out there too, because
I know you can kind of hidedifferent you know, if they have like
an ugly spent pillar, you canreally dress that up beautifully with Fipon products
for example. Yeah, so fipinit. I mean there's limitless options for
what we can do with that.So they have a ton a ton of
different window and door trim to thesimple to the complex. You can go
(11:18):
old school architecture or very modern,So a lot of different options when it
comes to the Fipon trim packages. But they also have you know, pediments
and other other design elements that canmake that you know, craftsman style or
that uniqueness of your home stand out. Yeah. I mean maybe you know,
(11:39):
you like specific things in a craftsmanhouse, like the way their porches
look, right, not own acraftsman home, but you could create that
vision experience, yeah, which isvery cool. I would say the craftsman
style door is one of the mostpopular door options that we have right now.
Is as people are gravitate, gravitatedtowards and then so you can bring
(12:03):
that, you know, you pickthe craftsman style door, and then we
maybe we pick a pediment, maybewe pick some of those you know,
pillar options that you talked about andmake that whole entry away changed and unique.
And totally craftess. And again what'scool about that is, you know,
you may think, when Josh throwus on all those terms, what
is that gonna look like? That'snot gonna be but you can bring all
(12:24):
that to life before the work evenstarts, so you don't have that worry
anymore. That's the best part aboutit. I think working with our team
is is when we take those eightpictures of at home, not only is
it giving us all the measurements weneed, you know for to put that
estimate together, but it puts thathome in a three D imaging process.
So and we that's when we're ableto change the siding, change the uh
(12:48):
you know, the windows, changethe roof, you name it. We
can kind of change it, playwith it, and show exactly what the
house would look like before anything's everordered. Yeah, it's very cool.
It's one of the since why youshould really consider calling Legacy Exteriors two two,
one, three thousand check them ononline Legacy dash Exteriors dot com.
Is you always say, Josh,Legacy doesn't have to be your only call,
(13:09):
but it should be one of yourcalls. Absolutely. You know,
again, I can attest to thework they did with my new roof.
Actually had a friend post yesterday onFacebook about how they saw rain or not
rain, but they had seen waterstart coming through their roof and they were
looking for recommendations. I threw youguys out there, and that's an honest
testimonial because it's just the work thatyou did I saw at firsthand. I
(13:31):
don't want someone to be taking advantageof by another contractor. Well, I
appreciate that you're welcome. You're welcome, so I expect like a hat or
a shirt or something you gotta come. Okay, cool, that is johsh
goawat. Since we wrap up,but beyond the studs Tuesday here on Iba
