One to one point five Fim Madison'sclassic rock dire Strengths on it two.
For Tuesdays, we welcome in JoshGoawitt's, owner of Legacy Exteriors, may
be on the studs Tuesday. Josh, how are you? I am doing
great. How are you talking Bourbonthis morning? I love that conversation we
just had. Yes, big JohnBourbon guy yourself. I don't hate it.

(00:24):
Sometimes it hates me, it hatesyou the next morning, you hate
it the next thing, whatever itis. But wish we get just Doug
Bourbon today. But no, we'regonna focus on one of the many things
you do over at Legacy Exteriors, that is windows. As we come up
here counting down to the end ofthe year, the weather, of course,
it has changed here across America's DarrenLand. It is chilly outside.

(00:45):
What are some things that people maybe noticing on their windows that may lead
them to believe that, Hey,maybe time to sort of investigate to see
if we need new windows. SoI would say, you know, if
if your windows are fogging up whenit gets really cold and they're fogging up,
that could be a sign that youhave possibly have a seal failure,

(01:06):
might want to look into that atthe very least they're not as energy efficient
as they should be. A commonone too is installation here. So you
might feel, you know, aslight little draft or coldness around that window
itself. So maybe they forgot, you know, to expansion from that opening,

(01:27):
or you know, put seal tapearound it, so you're you're getting
more elements inside than you than youactually should. Or if there's just a
lot of maintenance that that you say, you have real wood windows and you
you're having more maintenance on them thanyou need to a lot of times,
just mechanism failure, you know,or they're not just latching prop properly or

(01:53):
or sealing themselves. So any anykind of stuff like that going on,
it might be time to you know, upgrade a window game. Talking with
Jas Cowitz, owner of Legacy Exteriorsa be on the studs Tuesday. So
obviously not knowing who would have installedwindows on a home, what is the
average lifespan of windows on a home? Well that can definitely vary depending on

(02:16):
see, yeah, the type ofwindow and brand a window, like,
all those things are going to comeinto play. How you're how you're taking
care of them and maintaining them dependingon what they are can also come into
play. But yeah, you're rightif their uh installation is is big when

(02:38):
it comes to longevity of any product. Well, and we've talked about this
before as well, and correct meif I'm wrong, But some people then
install windows, they kind of doit halfway, where they'll take out part
of it and then just put inthe windows where you guys go all the
way. Well, and I knowI'm I am speaking a layman terms,
so I'm looking at you to fillin the professional terms. I had to

(02:59):
like up, like, what ishe talking? Right? But you know
what I mean? Yes, soyou're referring to when when people are replacement
windows. Sure, so yes, that is what you're calling the halfway.
Yes, and there's nothing wrong withthat way. So we do replacement windows

(03:20):
as well, but what we stronglyrecommend or encourage people to do is a
full replace or you know, afull new construction and which which basically entails
removing of the sighting in that area. And then I was installing a full

(03:42):
frame window with a nail fin andI want to jump in your I don't
want to cut you off, butI know people out there who are listening
are like, I bet you they'redoing that just because they want to make
more money. But that's not whatyou do a legacy exterior. So explain
to the listeners out there why youadvocate for that. Yeah, So we
always would give people both options.Yeah, but we also want to be

(04:02):
completely upfront and honest with people, like, Okay, if you do replacement
windows, this is what you canexpect because all you're doing is putting a
smaller window inside an old frame andthen wrapping that old frame with aluminum.
Now, if that is what youwant, we can certainly do that,
just like any other company. ButI don't think people fully understand what's happening

(04:26):
on the window replacement side of things. So it's more of an education with
us. Like anything we do.You hear replacement and you think, oh,
okay, everything's brand new, right. Yeah, not necessarily a case.
It's definitely a quicker, easier install, no question about it. But
in long term or long run,I think it's I think if more people
knew, they would want a newconstruction window in their home. Yeah,

(04:50):
and really, I mean people couldstomp out to your showroom and check that
out. On display and you couldkind of walk them through well, I
mean or obviously they can call youa tutu win three thousand legacy exteriors.
You and your team could come outand kind of talk through the process with
them as well. Absolutely, andat the end of the day, we'll
give both options. If if theychoose the replacement option, there's no harm,

(05:12):
no foul to that, and westill are gonna warrant the exact same
h actually higher in a lot ofcases in most companies, but at least
they have the full background and knowledge. Well, and that's what I love
about partnering up with you and yourteam, because if you're nothing else,
Johns, you're honest. You givepeople the options. And I'm not just
saying that to say it. It'strue because a lot of times when I

(05:33):
have guests like you on you,you your business, your reputation that gets
affiliated with my name too. SoI'm not gonna have just any run of
the mill person that's gonna take advantageof listeners out there becomes the home repairs
or whatever it may be. Butjust to kind of reset legacy exteriors here
in studio, owner johnsh Goowitz beyondthe Studs Tuesday. Before I let you

(05:53):
go, let's talk about some differentoptions when it comes to windows and then
specifically those brands and windows that youinstall a legacy exterior. Yeah, so
we're not locked into one brand andand like we've said, with a lot
of different products we talked about,So it's more of an interview process with
the potential homeowner and walking them throughwhat what their needs are, what they

(06:15):
want out of the of the project. And in this case we're talking about
windows. But we are a preferredPella dealer. And Pella makes a fantastic
line of windows. So they havetheir you know, their woodlines, they
have their fiberglass lines, and theyhave multiple vinyl lines, so they have
a window for for anybody in anyone'sbudget. But there are certain situations that

(06:35):
might require something that maybe Pella canoffer. So we do carry a lot
of other lines of windows. Soyou mean, instead of pushing a product
that Pella may carry on to someone, you're gonna tell them, hey,
Pella doesn't carry this, but wehave another line that does carry what you
want. Yeah, it's weird kindof what business scissors supposed to do that

(06:57):
that's going out of here. Yeah, we're definitely more old school that way.
But yeah, so there's a lotof different things that Pella can do,
and they do it very well. But there's certain let's just say,
maybe you wait, a vinyl windowwith a actual wood grain. Look,
well, Pella doesn't do that,So there's a lot of other window manufacturers

(07:19):
that do do that. So andthat's just one of many examples that why
we're carrying multiple lines of windows. But there is a long story short,
there is a window for everybody,it might not just be in one specific
line. Yeah, and last weekwe talked a lot about the financing options

(07:40):
you have over at Legacy Exteriors.I just want to remind everybody that just
doesn't include the four season stuff wetalked about last week. That's everything you
do, which could also include windows. Absolutely. You know, anything we
do, we can obviously finance it. And like you said before, we
have a lot of different financing options. The most popular one right now eighteen

(08:00):
months no interest. Eighteen months nointerest. Why would you not? Free
money is free money? Uh,and it's so easy too. We talked
about it last week to kind ofapplied for financing. Learn more at Legacy

Last week was about four seasons. But Legacy Exteriors also does roofs,
gutters, decks, pergolas. AmI missing anything? I think that's it

(08:24):
right, probably windows, doors, doors. I didn't throw in their to
doors. Yeah, yeah, Iwould just say, if it's on the
outside of your house and you needit upgraded, give us a call to
probably do it. At two twoone three thousand, Legacy dash Exteriors dot
