Speaker 1 (00:01):
In its earliest days, the major function of radio was news.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
What's going on here, beautiful?
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Let everybody go.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Why don't you put on a show and charge a mission? Okay,
so I would say something with music and comedy. Now
you're talking.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
It will be a show for everyone who loves music
and murder. Come on, talk, We got it a show
to dude, showtime.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Are you ready? I'm ready ready job, Good morning, Happy Wednesday,
six ' ten DC's Classic Rocket's Big one hundred. LeVar
Arrington's gonna join us on the show this morning about
eight am. Well talk and Commanders football. We also have
another letter. I'll try to get to it on today.
(01:00):
Another letter for you in about seven to twenty this
morning for the big word of the week and your
chance to win Black Crows tickets at the end of
the week. And we have another pair of tickets to
give away for the home game against Carolina this weekend.
And oh yeah, there's more and a four pack of
tickets to see uh Brian Reagan.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
It's Brian Regan.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Brian Reagan. Gotta love that. Brian Reagan's a funny dude.
Is he the guy? Am I thinking of the right guy?
He's the guy that his act is totally clean. Is
that Reagan? Maybe I think it is. I'm gonna look
it up. I think it is. I think he's known
for like being absolutely being absolutely hilarious without feeling the
(01:43):
need to go into the gutter. I'm pretty sure it's Reagan.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
But I like the gutter.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Well, you know, I I in the gutter. Everybody's got
their things.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
My brain is all the time.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Um, that explains a lot. YEP, really does yees. So
we will have I'm trying to think we might do
a talkback on that again. Let me think about that
for a few minutes and then we'll figure out how
we're gonna give those away. But they are up for
grabs at some point this morning. Then the rest of
the week looks like this. Tomorrow we have Mike Florio
on the program. Always a joy to speak with Florio.
(02:15):
He's he's he knows his football. Man, he's he's opinionated,
but he knows his football. And Friday will chat with
Tim Murray and general manager. If you are Watchington Commanders
Adam Peters on the show every Friday at eight thirty
six twelve. It's DC's classic rock Big one hundred DC's
classic rock. It's big one hundred I of the Tiger Survivor.
(02:37):
If that doesn't get you going at six twenty one
on a Wednesday morning, nothing will, really. I mean yeah,
I need a good training montage to watch on top
of it. Though the song alone is not enough. I
need the training montage. I can't believe this, But there's
a story out this morning talks about gen z ers
(02:59):
and interviewing for jobs. Twenty five percent of gen Z
say they have brought their parents with them to a
job interview in the past year.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Is that their fault of their parents?
Speaker 1 (03:13):
They now, here's the thing. Most of them said the
parents waited outside. Still, there was a poll earlier this
year that found twenty percent of employers have seen a
gen Z bring a parent along for a job interview.
And you know, the question was is it unprofessional? So
then they turned around and survey gen Z and the
number was even higher. Twenty five percent and thirty seven
(03:39):
percent said their parents accompanied them to the office but
not into the room, thank god. Well, they were just
there for moral support. Twenty six percent said their parents
physically sat in on the interview.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Twenty six percent what are you okay? Would you hire
some saying if.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
You were interviewing somebody and here's Bob, and Bob shows
up for his job interview, and you run a company
and looking for an employee, and Bob walks in, and
so does his dad or his mom, and you're like,
can I help you? Oh my dad, he's just here
for moral support. Come on, is that number accurate?
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Like that just seems rigou Well.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
I think that the idea was that when they they
saw the twenty percent when they survey businesses, they thought
that was high and said that can't be real, and
then survey gen Z and gen Z he said, yeah, yeah,
we do that. Wow wow. Seven percent said the parents
(04:44):
even helped answer questions for the child.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Like the employer asked.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah, that that's kind of vague, but.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
One poll found one in eight gen Z ors have
their parents write their resume for them. That's not a
big deal. Somebody helping you with the resume. AI can
do it. Yeah, you know. I read something the other
day where this guy was like, I can spot an
AI resume a mile away. So he said, he said,
I just I won't even look at him. I'm like, wow,
how's he spot them? I don't know, but you know
in six months he won't be able to the way
(05:14):
it's going. So gen Z is uh the demo of
people born between like the mid nineties through you know,
twenty ten. So you're looking it's somebody is like thirty
years old, bring bringing them mom, bringing their mom to
(05:37):
an interview? Why does that? That just seems insanely? What's
I think of step brothers when they go to the
interview together? This classic the best scene. What's her name? Again?
Speaker 5 (05:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (05:53):
That was the best scene. What was the lady's name?
I love that? Was it Pam? And he kept calling
her the wrong name and she's like, no, it's Pam, Pam.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
Oh ah, step brothers.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
We should pull up that audio. We'll see if we
can find that. Because they both they show up for
an interview together. It's hilarious.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Six twenty five Coming up this morning eight am. LeVar
Arrington joins us on the program. Yes, Redskins great LaVar
Arrington get his take on this game that took place
against the Ravens and what we've got to look forward
to this weekend against Carolina. We'll also have some tickets
to give away for that game this weekend. That's coming
up a little bit later this morning. DC's Classic Rock,
(06:36):
Big one hundreds. DC's Classic Rock is Big one hundred
and tears for Fears. Everybody wants to rule the world.
Jackson here time once again. It's six thirty nine for things.
I know, the dumb dumb lollipop, you know, the little
tiny ones seem a doctor's office. Yeah, here and there.
(06:58):
The mystery flavors aren't seek it. They just add the
next flavor to the batch, and the mix of two
in between becomes the mystery flavor. So they're always different.
So basically, I guess, like if they're making a blueberry
and a pineapple, they what would.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
They do a blue apple?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah, I guess, And then they just keep doing that,
so everyone's different. So it's not a specific mystery flavor.
It's just like, all right, well we just made blueberry,
pineapple and apple, so now add the pineapple to the apple.
Now add the apple to the blueberry.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
They call the pineapple apple pineapple.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
They don't don't take just saying mystery flavor on them.
I think I'm just thinking of names that you could
call those mystery names pine pine apple, apple, apple apple
apple pine The first hashtag ever used was bar camp
ba arcamp. The social tech expert by the name of
(07:53):
Christmasina tweeted in August two thousand and seven, quote, how
do you feel about using the sign for groups as
in bar camp? Clearly people liked the idea and hashtags
caught on. FDR's family became wealthy thanks to his grandfather's
work in the opium trade.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Right on.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Granddaddy was a drug dealer. Did you know Bruce Springsteen
has never had a number one hit in the United States?
We were just talking about, you know, artists that are
synonymous with the state they come from, And of course
you say New Jersey, first thing you think of is
Bruce Springsteen or bon Jovi. But I think bon Jovi
(08:39):
should win that title because bon Jovi's got like nine
thousand number one song. Bruce Springsteen has never had a
number one song. To add to that, a few others
that might surprise you. The Backstreet Boys have never had
a number one song. Don Hitley's never had a number
one song, Pat Benattars never had a number one song.
(09:00):
What surprised me? Cheryl Crow listened to what was that
big her big hit? Every Road is Winding something Ryls
big song man anyway, Yeah, the Sun Comes Up?
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Was that Santa Monica Bole of Art?
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah? What was that song that sounds just like what
was that?
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Wasn't that All I Want to Do?
Speaker 1 (09:21):
All I Want to Do? But then there was another one,
right or maybe I'm just thinking of the had the.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
One with Kid Rock.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Oh God?
Speaker 3 (09:27):
So Don Henley had the Eagles have had number one?
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Not sure the Eagles, I mean I think, I mean
you would think so, but I would think Don Henley did.
But Don Henley solo apparently not. Nor Pat Bennet's are
nor Ryl Crow is the one that surprises me the most,
maybe even the Backstreet Boys, because you know, when they
were huge teen pop stars. And Bob Dylan had not
landed a number one on any Billboard chart until he
(09:53):
was seventy eight years old. It finally happened in twenty twenty,
when his seventeen minute song Murder Rust Foul topped digital
song sales that chart. And if you've ever wondered about
the difference between jam and jelly, there's a really bad
joke in there. Jam is made from fruit, Jelly is
(10:16):
made from juice. Preserves have chunks of fruit and marmalades,
have peel and pulp. Learn something new every day. Jam
is from fruit, jelly is from juice. If it says preserve,
it's got chunks. If it's a marmalade, it's got peel
and pulp. Interesting. It is six forty three DC's Classic Rock,
(10:39):
Big one.
Speaker 7 (10:39):
Hundred WBIGFM, Washington and iHeartRadio Station, Live from the Nation's Capital.
This is Big Rock Mornings with Jackson on Big one
hundred DC's Classic Rock.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Dang, Good morning to you. Coming up on seven o'clock.
LaVar Arrington will be on the show with us. It's
about eight o'clock this morning. We'll talk a little Manders football.
We've got tickets to give away for that game this
weekend too. And give me a chance to score Black
Crows tickets this week Next the letter for the Big
Word of the Week coming your way to about seven
to twenty. It is DC's Classic Rock, Big one hundred,
(11:15):
DC's Classic Rock. It's Big one hundred. You know we
were talking to the other day about the Crocs for dogs. Yeah,
those are going to be in stores very soon. This
guy on Instagram, it's Scot's this really cute golden retriever
and a lot of followers just all dog content. But
(11:36):
Crocs sent him a package with the pair of crocks
for him and crocs for the dog, and he puts
them on the dog. The dog was miserable, dude. It's like,
you know, their eyes get really wide and like what
are you doing to me? And then watching it walk,
it was like it looked like he was going to
fall down.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
And doing that thing when it shakes each party.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
To get it. It's funny. I'm like, I don't know,
maybe there are some dogs out there wouldn't bother, but
this one's like, gift these SIGs off me? How much
is an arm and a leg worth about ninety million dollars?
You know they say that this cost an arm and
a leg, you're paying too much for a dozen eggs?
It was an arm and a leg. No, it wasn't, No,
(12:20):
it wasn't. It was a dollar. So if you've ever
really wondered what an arm and the leg cost in
New York City, they said it's worth about ninety million bucks.
There is a guy that was drunk. This is a
serious story. He was in a terrible accident. It was
about five six years ago. Fifty six year old man
(12:42):
drunk New York City. He fell onto the subway tracks,
train operator failed to stop in time, train ran him over.
He did survive, but he lost one of his legs
at the hip joint and most of one of his arms,
so he's unable to work. And he filed the lawsuit.
Now you're thinking, and he won ninety million dollars. Yeah,
(13:07):
but he was drunk and he's the one that fell
on the track in front of a train. How he
suing the city. But they found that the train operator
had plenty of time to stop if he would have
pulled the emergency brake, and the driver of the train
did admit that he saw people on the platform waving
frantically to try to get the train to stop, and
(13:30):
he did see something on the tracks, but he thought
it was a bag of garbage and admitted that he
should have breaked and did not. So they basically admitted
fault guys saying, yeah, I could have hit the emergency
brake and probably stopped, but I didn't think it was
a person. I thought it was garbage. Sh So they
(13:51):
estimate that the victim's lifetime medical expenses will come up
to about seventeen million dollars and he won ninety million,
awarded him ninety million dollars. So there you go. That's
how much an arm and a leg costs.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Well, now the question is, would you trade an arm
and a leg for ninety million dollars?
Speaker 1 (14:08):
No, no, I wouldn't you. No, No, I wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
What about that frog?
Speaker 1 (14:14):
What about him? What about him? He's in he's in heaven.
Now he's in frog heaven.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
What do you have traded?
Speaker 1 (14:23):
What do you killed? There? You killed my mic for
a second there, Oh, maybe it was my it was
my headphones. Never mone that frog didn't have a choice,
There was no option to trade, and frog was destined
to become fish bait. Just it is the way ways
of the world. Man, It's just how nature works.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
So is this guy healed other than you know, like
not having a sound like it.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Yeah, he can't work or you know, he's disabled, he's
missing a leg from the hip down ninety mil Well,
he doesn't have to, he doesn't have.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
To do anything.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
And the accident was like six years ago, but still
not worth it, not worth it. Seven to eleven. LeVar
Arrington will join us at eight o'clock this morning tickets
to give away for the home game against Carolina that's
coming up later this morning. It's DC's Classic Rock, Big
one hundred, DC's Classic Rocket. It's Big one hundred. There's
Queen Jackson here in good morning to you. Seven twenty three.
(15:20):
How far are we out now, just a few weeks
from the election? Lord a mercy. I have all these
things in my life. I want to get straight. You know,
we're all trying to improve in our daily lives, right hopefully,
But I I'm not doing anything until, like determine that
the world is not ending. I just feel like it
(15:42):
would all be a waste of time. It all be
just a huge waste of time. If the world's gonna end,
you know, there's just no need. It is going to
get interesting, isn't it, Because it's going to be ugly.
It is going to get interesting because well, yeah, well.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
You have to figure there's there's three more weeks until
the election. Then there's gonna be another six seven weeks
after that of fighting the election.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Of course, if not longer. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's gonna
be exhausting. It is seven four, And let's give you
a letter for the big word of the week, shall
we The big word? Of the Week on Big one hundred.
Today's letter is the letter A. The letter A is
(16:31):
in lilac. I don't know where I came up with that.
The letter A is in loser. Okay, I'm sorry. Wait
this letter those words start with it. Dude, I have
to I need to just go back to bed today.
I have one of those days.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
The letter A.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I know it took me a minute to realize what
I was doing. I was looking at the wrong day.
Yesterday was the letter A, but I know that today
it's the letter L.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Okay, makes sense.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
The letter A as in loser, and clearly I'm a loser.
The letter L. I'm sorry, the letter L is in blilac.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
You've had a lot of trouble with this feature this week.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
I've just been having a lot of trouble this week.
To be honest with you, I'm just having a lot
of trouble this week. I really am. I can't keep
my head straight. I don't know what it is. Okay.
So the letter L is in a loser and that
is your third letter for the Big Word of the
Week at the end of the week Friday morning, at
(17:41):
about seven to twenty ish, I will hopefully give you
the correct letter, you'll know the word, you'll win the prize.
Black Crows tickets coming up before nine o'clock this morning.
We have tickets for the home game against Carolina this
weekend at Northwest Stadium. And let's do let's go talk
back again so on Brian Reagan. We have a four
pack of tickets to see Brian Reagan. By the way,
(18:03):
we were talking about that earlier. Sand is he the
super clean comedian. He's made a hell of a living
on being like the guy known for doing clean comedy,
doesn't curse at all, and he's hilarious, and he says
he likes the challenge of trying to put together a
set without getting dirty or cursing. He says, it's what
(18:23):
kind of inspires him. Like I always found it fascinating.
But he's really really funny. And we have a four
pack of tickets to give away. All you have to
do is pull up the iHeart app, pull up Big
one hundred. See a little microphone there, click on that.
You can leave us a message and just say hey,
I'd like to put my name in the hat for
the Brian Reagan tickets. And at the end of the show,
we will randomly draw from all those entries and set
(18:44):
somebody up with tickets. So just make sure to leave
your name. That helps tremendously, and we will give somebody
tickets later this morning. All right, DC's Classic Rock, It's
Big one hundred. Good morning, DC's Classic Crocket's Big one hundred, Fleetwood,
Mac's Dreams. It's reading the study. That process meets like bacon. Typically,
(19:05):
I'll stop reading there there's a study and in the
first sentence is bacon. I stop because don't ruin bacon
for me. Don't ruin bacon for me. We all know
it's terrible for you. But it is also, on the
other hand, God's gift to man. Yes, bacon, they say, Now,
(19:28):
bacon can harm a man's fertility. Come, I'm fine with that. Okay,
I'm at an age where I'm fine with that. I
don't really care no more kids. Nope, I'm good. I'm
good harm fertility. Really.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
I read something the other day too where it was
actually a lot worse than that. Well, I guess if
you're you know, young person, that is pretty bad. But
but it was talking about some sort of cancer or
something that was linked bacon. And I'm like, my God,
stop with the attacking bacon.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Leave bacon alone.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Leap bacon out of this man, God, I love bacon.
I want some bacon right now. It is seven forty two.
It's DC's Classic Rock coming up. Redskins great LeVar Arrington's
going to join us on the show and just a
bit from now and we'll talk some Commanders football, we'll
take we'll peak at the game against the Ravens, which
I thought the team played pretty well. Man, I thought
(20:28):
I wasn't I wasn't totally bummed out while king away
from that game, I thought there's a couple things like
can work on, but all in all, it was a
pretty good game right down to the end. And I
thought it's a market improvement from from last season, let's
put it that way. But everything is everything from I
mean everything is bringing in Adam Peters and Dan Quinn
(20:48):
and Joe Witt and it's just Jaydon Daniels. I mean,
it's just a whole nother ball game now. So he's
gonna join us on the program here in just a
few and just before nine o'clock this morning, we're gonna
have some tickets to give away for the home game
this weekend. Against Carolina at Northwest Stadium, and we'll do
that with what have we learned on the show today.
We do that every day, and I'll have tickets to
give away for that game every day this week. So
(21:10):
we'll do it again tomorrow and Friday right here on
DC's Classic Crockets, Big One Hunter joining us on the line. Redskins,
Great LeVar Arrington, always a pleasure, LaVar, I am not.
I'm not angry with that game against the Ravens. I
thought they put up a pretty good fight and I
was impressed by how Jayden and Daniels played. How about you.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
The Chrysler three hundred game has concluded and the verdict
is in. Jaydon Daniels is a Bentley.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Yeah, there it is.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
He Bentley.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
All right.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
There were two Bentley's in that game, and you know what,
the more season Bentley prevailed. So I have no problem
with that loss because it was a very very well
played game. It was a game back to the dawn
either way. You know what, if Jaydon Daniels has just
a tad bit more time, maybe they win that game.
(22:01):
So what that means is the strength of what Dan
Quinn brings to the table is one of the things
that they got to kind of continue to shore up
if they can get their defense to hold up a
little bit more.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
With again eleven on eleven football, with the type.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Of talent that that Lamar Zackson is, it's just very
difficult to totally kind of slow down an offense where
you got to play everybody's got a man, right. But
but Washington, I felt like they did pretty well. I mean,
they could have been better on defense, but they did
fairly well on offense. They kept pace and they did
(22:35):
fairly well. And Jayson Daniels continues to impress. So I
think there's a lot of positives to take from that game.
And and honestly, if you're if you're a fan of
the team, I think there's I think if you're having
that excitement about what this team could possibly be, I
think I don't think that in this loss they did
anything to kind of dash or doubt, you know, the
(22:56):
positivity that you're filling towards the team is actually could
be the opposite. This could be a team that actually
wins the NFC's possibly need I say, maybe get out
of the first round of the playoffs, right see where
they go from there?
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Yeah, Yeah, well, I'll tell you without a doubt. I mean,
I love Eckler and he's got his specialties. Uh, and
he is a very good back. But I think we
definitely missed b rob That that power downhill, angry runner
I think could have made a little bit of difference too.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I mean, when you have a running back like Brian
Robinson at one hurts you when you don't have his services.
Eckler is is a great you know, I'm well great
greatest use too loosely, but I mean he really is
a running back that is again, as I mentioned before,
very moti dimensional. Right, you can catch the ball out
(23:46):
of the backfield. He does well in pass pro. He
he you know, he can run the ball. But there
is something to be said about when you have multiple
back and one of those backs can can stoppen the
belly while another one kid to other things.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
That are their superpowers.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
So yeah, of course it hurt them not having Robinson,
But with that being said, they were still in good
position to possibly win that game. I thought it was
more so lost on the defensive side of the ball
than it was on the offensive side.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Sure, sure, and you know, look, when you're going up
against Lamar and and Derrick Henry. I mean, that's no
easy task. I'll tell you though. I was thoroughly impressed
with Jaden's accuracy, which just continues to get better every
week if they're because that coverage, the Ravens coverage was
like glue. And if there was a you know, a
ford a six inch spot to throw the ball, Jayden
(24:40):
found it. And I was just blown away by how
accurate he is.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
I just think the way he exercises, his poise and
the way he handles, you know, each situation that he finds.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
Himself in out there on the field.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
I've been very, very impressed by ja Vangelis, and I'll
continue to say, I saw this player at LSU. I
think if you were paying attention and you watched them,
see he's from California, so I know.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
I've been I've been living here. I've seen him.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
I've heard of him, and I know of him because
Antonio Pears, who I coached with, who was my teammate
in Washington and in New York. We coached together at
Long Beach Polly, So I was very very deeply entrenched
in high school.
Speaker 5 (25:26):
Sports and high school football. So I saw Brice Young,
I saw c. J. Stroud. I saw Shaytan Daniels. I've
seen these.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Kids on the circuits and in high school. So I
saw him when he was Arizona State. I saw the
progression of where he went from being a really really talented,
gifted running multi colleged you know, triple thread hoofs running quarterback,
passing quarterback, to being a quarterback when he got the LSU.
(25:55):
So if you were paying attention to him at LSU,
you knew that this was the type of quarter fact
that you were getting. He has talent, but what really
has separated him, It's really been his attention to the
detail of becoming a better player. Understanding the coverage is,
understanding his offensive skins, understanding his personnel and what.
Speaker 8 (26:17):
They do best, and obviously having a coordinator who absolutely
compliments him perfectly and what it is he brings to
the table.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
So I just think it's a perfect song for Jaydon Daniels.
I'll tell you what on the trajector he's on right now,
Scott's the limit for what he can accomplish. He's just
got to make sure he stays in pocket.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Because we've seen this.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
We we've actually seen this open opening act.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Before Yeah, but you don't.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
You don't want to get to a place of where
you don't like I almost feel like maybe RG three
lost track of the fact that he was in the
Serengetti and everyone in a while if you ain't mindful
of predator get a hold of you and and you know,
a HELLOAI not a predator got a hold of him. Yeah,
you don't want to see him get too comfortable where
(27:11):
you know somebody sneaks up on him and alters what
he has going on. I think he's one of those
type of guys that he really really understands what's going on.
He really has a great seal and balance and control
of what it is that he's doing. And I'm just
really high on him. He's probably the highest I've been
(27:32):
on a quarterback and quite some time, maybe the last
time I looked at a quarterback and was like, man,
like this dude is like like he's that he's really
really that guy. It might have been Andrew Luckett.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
I've been Andrew lucky. I was like, this guy's a
can't miss guy. I feel really good about Jay Beck.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Yeah, I tell you we are so fortunate to have him.
And I don't know if you've I think this is
going to be all around the NFL and no time
at all, even around all of college. But have you
heard Jayden talk about this VR training? He uses this
virtual reality. It's basically, you know, he can Kingsbury, can
call in a play and through virtual reality, he can
(28:11):
see the defense. He can see what the defense is doing,
see it change, and can get all these extra reps
in without any wear and tear on the body. And
I think that is just fascinating. I want to know
more about it.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Well, technology is amazing and the way it's being used.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Is even more amazing. And again, like I said, Jaydon.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Daniels, the one thing that really really rang true.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
You know, I do a show with t J. Huchman's
OUTO all weekend.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah call a boy, dame, make sure.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
You gots tune in to it.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
And so the one thing that TJ told me when
when during training sessions and Jon Daniels were a part
of them is that his approach to preparation is phenomenal.
It's phenomenal, and so it doesn't surprise me that he
would be doing something like a virtual reality repetition and
(29:00):
and doing things that are going to prepare him.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
For real game reps.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
It doesn't surprise me because the things that I've heard
from heard about him and just his work ethic and
his attention to detail.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
You know, I heard he comes to the building.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
At like five am, that he leads the building after
everybody else. So the things that I'm hearing about him
are so phenomenal. So the results that he gets to
come is no surprise. And like I said, I'm happy
for him. I'm also happy for commanders fans that they
get an opportunity.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
To have some hope again and have some excitement.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
It seems like there's a lot of excitement that is
brewing and building up.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
In the nation's capital around this quarterback and the team.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
He sais a well rounded dude. I've never met him.
He's one of those ones I look forward to having
the opportunity to meet him because I've just heard so
many great things about how.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Good a duty is. Absolutely so looking at the division here,
I got a couple questions for you. I am not
a Dalla, so this did not bother me at all
seeing them get trounced at home on Jerry Jones' birthday.
But what's happened to Dallas.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
It's a it's a team that doesn't have an identity,
and I think until they figure out who they are
and listen, they're dealing with some serious injuries, some losses
on the defensive side of the ball, and that's always
been their strength as their defense.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I don't know if Zimmer gets them to where dan
Quinn got them to.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Offensively, I think we know what they are.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
They are a team that is really, in a lot
of ways, very very one dimensional, right, and that's getting
the ball to Ceedee Lamb. If you can get Ceedee
Lamb going, then you have a chance to win the game.
If Ceedee Lamb isn't having a good day, there's not
enough of a running game. They're not. They're not dominant
enough up front to be able to just move move
(30:52):
people around and run, run the ball and win games.
So it's just this Dallas team finds themselves in a
very very rough and difficult situation to be in because
you're talking about a team that, you know, Terry Jones
believes is built to win a Super Bowl. But I
don't see how he could look at his personnel and
believe that they're in the proper position to do something
(31:14):
of that that feat.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Well, if we had just two and a half hours
north here and go to my hometown of Philadelphia, what
uh do you think Sirianni's in danger?
Speaker 2 (31:22):
There's always going to be trauma that's being discussed as
it applies to Philly. You know, they want to win.
They do a lot of things, right. You know this
came after a win, they.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Won the game. Yeah, yeah, and there's still.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
There's still things being you know, discussed in that manner.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
They're not performing to the level of what they created,
you know, when they made it to.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
That Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
So there's there's the harsh reality that when you're when
you're as I guess outspoken or as emotionally driven as
Nick Sirianni is, a lot of people felt like that
that that act rant then last season, right, and that
now you're streaming you're not just screaming out anythan you're
screaming at Philly fans. You're apologizing about streaming out Philly fans.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Yeah, how the hell are you doing?
Speaker 2 (32:10):
You know, I don't listen, And maybe the act is
warrant then, but he's just got to keep winning. If
he keeps winning, they you know, the conversations will quiet down.
But if he if he's having a mediocre year or
this team is underperforming, I would not be surprised if
if there's a move away from him when this season
(32:32):
could conclude. But there's a lot of football to be
played left and a lot of wrongs can be made
right just by winning, and they have the opportunity to
do that.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Yeah, absolutely, LeVar, thank you so much as always, man,
it is always a pleasure to talk to you. And
I hope we are talking about a win over Carolina
next week.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
I sure hope we ain't talking about a loss.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
All right, have a great day you too. That's LeVar
Arrington Redskins great and we have on every week right
here on DC's Classic Rocket's Big one hundred. DC's Classic Rocket.
It's a big one hundred. And there's Nirvana. It's say
twenty four Jackson.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
Here.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
It s time for Florida Man, Florida Man. All right,
we're gonna take a break from the crack and meth
a sault with food for a feel good story. Today,
oh cameras captured a Florida man's heroic action because he
(33:31):
rescued his three month old puppy from the jaws of
an alligator. This is nuts. I watched this video. I
might have been like, help, guess we lost the dog?
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Richard Wilbanks seventy seventy four years old. He ran into
his backyard pond and wrestled the gator above the surface
and pride it's jaws open to free his dog, Gunner,
a caval l king Charles Spaniel uppy. He says, We're
just out walking by the pond and it came out
of the water like a missile. I never knew an
(34:10):
alligator could move that fast. It was so quick, he said.
It's adrenaline just kicked in and he automatically jumped into
the water, jumped on the alligator's back, pulled it up,
and he says holding onto the alligator wasn't really the
tough part, but prying open the jaws was extremely hard.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
I can see that.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Yeah. He rescued his pop man, and he said his
hands were pretty chewed up. He had to go to
a doctor for tetanus shots, and Gunner the dog had
one big puncture wound in its belly from the initial bite,
but did fine after a trip to the vets' office.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Are gators typically that aggressive.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
They are with like dogs. Not smart to walk next
to the water in Florida with your dog. You see me.
You can jump on YouTube and find tons of those
where you see gators going after dogs. He says he
still likes walking his puppy, but he'll keep it on
a leash. See the puppy was free. Ah went down
(35:15):
to the water's edge, and he says he'll stay at
least ten feet back from the pond's edge. He says,
our pets are like family to us. Instinct just kicked in.
Good for him. Seventy four years old, he jumps in
the water to wrestle an alligator. I love it. I
told you I was about a year ago. It was
in South Carolina, said Kiwa Island. I have a friend
(35:38):
that has a house out there and he's got a
big pond in his backyard. And when I got there,
I had my fishing poles and I was like, hey, man,
are there fishing this pond? And he's like, oh, yeah,
a ton. He's like, but I wouldn't fish there, I respond,
texting why he's like gators. I thought he was full
of crap. I was like, what gators? And I walked
out under his back deck and I was like four
(36:00):
of them sonning up on the bank in his backyard,
right on the pod. I was like, holy crap, there
are gators there. He wasn't kidding. I didn't. I didn't
realize they were in South Carolina. To be honest with you,
I had no idea it's southern South Carolina.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
But I didn't think it was that. I didn't think
it was far enough south. After they were exclusively to
like Florida and Louisiana.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
They were up on the banks. I have some pictures
somewhere el show them to you. And so the next
day I was like, I'm fishing this pond. So I
just I stood way back from the bank when they
weren't up on the bank, because they would come out
during the day. I just stood way back and just
do a big long cast over like fifteen feet land first.
But then I saw a couple of videos those those man,
(36:42):
those things move quick, are not slow. They move like
a rocket when they're going after something.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Should have grabbed one of those gators and used it
as bait.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
I know, probably could have stuck a hook through its
head through out there. You know what you'd catch with
a Gator wha, DC's Class Crockets Big one hundred. Dennis
coming up with sports on tapping just a bit here,
stick around DC's Class Crockets, Big one hundred, You, Red
Makes and Sweet Dreams eight thirty seven Commanders have Carolina
(37:15):
this weekend. We're gonna give away some tickets coming up
here in just a few minutes to side station. Yeah,
they're gonna they're seventy five and Sonny, they're gonna win
that game.
Speaker 9 (37:23):
I got a feeling points spread is seven and a half.
Right now, you're taking some of that action. I'm done betting, Dennis,
No you're not. Yeah, that's a lot, not a lie.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
I am not putting any That account is down to
four cents and I'm not putting another dime in there.
A little up. Things are good. Things are looking good
in the Glasgow hops.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Hold on the app.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I can't win to save my life. This shit, it's
so hard, man, it is so hard. I can't win
to save my life. I'm pulling the old what are.
Speaker 9 (37:50):
You when you betting? How much are you betting at
a time? Like five ten bucks each month?
Speaker 1 (37:54):
Usually, Like I'll do parlays and I'll do like you
know the ones that are you know are never gonna hit,
but you never know, you know, around like you hit one.
Speaker 9 (38:00):
I hit a parlay eight game parlay right, I mean
on a bid ten bucks on a thing you never know,
and I.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Have hit one before. Yeah, right, so I'm nose. I'll
throw like a dollar or two because a dollar or
two will still in you, like one hundred bucks one
of those long shots, you know. Yeah, I agree. And
then on the other stuff, yeah, small bets like five, five,
ten bucks. What's the largest bet you've ever made since?
I bet you turned into a degenerate? I bet a
(38:25):
hundred bucks on the Garcia fight. Okay, how'd you do?
I won? He won that fight? Was I just had
a I think I won like five hundred bucks. Well,
he was a serious underdog and going into the fight. Yeah,
I was like, I don't know, man, I got a feeling.
I tell missus Jackson about that win without your own
(38:46):
money there, you know. You know what I did with
that money? I bought my kid a new parent of Nikes.
Speaker 9 (38:50):
That's what I'm talking about. I got him some some
Jordan's the kid winning off of the the degenerate dad.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
I took him. I took him very nice. Did you
tell where the money came from? He knew. I said, hey,
I want some money on that fight. You want to pay,
you know, and so yeah, he didn't care at that point,
no re use, let's go down.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
He took him into the city and went to a
few different stores and he bought. Of course, of course
he grabs a four hundred dollars pair.
Speaker 9 (39:12):
Well, I heard your conversation with LaVar Arrington and he
is all in on Jayden the Bentley.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Yeah, yeah, Bentley. Well you know that's that started. A
couple of weeks ago, he's like, I've heard that, and
I just love that analogy. When he was like, you
know how people were buying the CHRISI of three hundreds
because everybody thought kind of looks like a Bentley, right,
because but it's not at that's right till a Bentley
pulls up next to it, it's not a Bentley. That
that was a good analogy. And then you know, a
(39:37):
few weeks ago he's like, we're going to find out
in the coming weeks. Yeah, if Jade Daniels is a
Christ of three hundred.
Speaker 9 (39:42):
Or Bentley, Yeah, today you said it, he's a Bentley, Well,
they should take care.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Of Carolina, which a team in ruins right now.
Speaker 9 (39:50):
They're one and five. They're not playing good football. I mean,
any Adulton is their starting quarterback for God's sake.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Yeah, but careful, I know.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
You know what.
Speaker 9 (39:58):
You know how I'm worried about some games. I'm worried
about this game at all. And I think they'll cover
the seven and a half as well too, Really, I
really do.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
Yeah. I think, Well, here's the deal.
Speaker 9 (40:07):
I think that they know that they were close to
the Baltimore Ravens and they competed and that probably showed
that team. Listen, we've been playing good football. This is
a good club, and we competed against one of the best.
We're coming home now and I we're playing and it's
gonna be great weather day. Fans are going to be nuts.
We're not playing a good football team. Let's step on
(40:27):
their throats early and blow them out. And I think
that's exactly what's going to happen.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
I really do. Did you Speaking of that game, it's
that video that went viral of the Baltimore fan.
Speaker 9 (40:39):
Yeah, that beat up the Commanders fans on the street.
He got arrested and lost his job.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
I don't know if he's been arrested yet, but they
are going to arrest him. Yeah, lost his job. The
internet did their work on that day. It was horrific.
It was terrible, and they found the guy. This guy
was for.
Speaker 9 (40:55):
People didn't see this guy walked randomly down the street
and he was obviously hammered. He said he was looking
for stragglers and he grabbed two commanders fans that were
just having a nice time on the street and they
were like half his hand pummeled them.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Yeah. It was brutal. Yeah, it was bad. And then
he throws up his you know flex and goes, I
don't I don't lose. He was proud of it.
Speaker 9 (41:16):
It was gross and I was like, what was awful.
I hope he does go to jail. You are going
to lose your face into eight years in jail. Hey,
Caps one last night they'd beat Vegas four two at
Capital one last night.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Right, so here's the big question. Yeah, gonna hit it
this year? No? No, not this year. I don't know,
not this year.
Speaker 3 (41:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (41:33):
He might catch fire. They moved him the right wing too,
which is YEAHS heard that. Yeah, he's been playing on
the left side forever.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
So yeah, I don't know. I doubt it. Thought it
was just for that game.
Speaker 9 (41:43):
Yeah, maybe it is so, but that was nice for
the Boys to finally get a win their second game
of the season. So we got that going on and
more baseball tonight. But the Yankees are looking good. They
took the Guardians up last night and Aaron Judge went
yard last night.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
And so you're saying, if I put a few more
dollars in that account, bet the Yankees.
Speaker 9 (42:01):
Bet the Yankees. It's gonna be Yankees and Dodgers, man,
and it's gonna be a great world series. I mean,
the two biggest cities in America. They have such a
great rivalry and they're both just stacked with players. That'd
be a great world series there really would. Maybe we
have you watch a little bit.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
Baseball.
Speaker 9 (42:18):
That's good for TV, it's good for everybody, good for
New York l a baseball who has a huge identity crisis.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
I'm not kidding that that sport is in trouble. That
would be a big series. And what it would nice?
What we'll root for that? What else you got anything?
Speaker 4 (42:34):
You know?
Speaker 1 (42:34):
I'm just I'm looking for dates on like women's field
hockey or you know.
Speaker 9 (42:38):
Well, we do have NWSL Town on Sunday, right, Okay,
the Spirit are getting near the end of season, as
are the DC United.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
By the way.
Speaker 9 (42:46):
DC United, if they win or tie, they could go
to the postseason. And the Spirit, by the way, are
going to the postseason. They're one of the top teams
in the league. So they've got to finish out the
regular season here and then we wait for the playoff format.
But I'm tell you what, the Spirit could win the championship.
They're that good, all right.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
I mean, we've got.
Speaker 9 (43:03):
Trinity Rodman, We've got a couple of players from Team USA.
But the DC already got out to such a horrible
start this year. Second half they have rocking and rolling
and they got a chance to make the postseason. So
it'd be nice to see all our teams for soccer
in the postseason. That'd be nice because we do have
great soccer fans in this market. Sure, great fans. Have
you been to a game in audio yet?
Speaker 5 (43:22):
No?
Speaker 1 (43:23):
I need to do that, and let's get you to
a game. Not only a great facility for soccer, great
fans here, but soccer is just blown up all around
the country. It's gigantic.
Speaker 9 (43:31):
You know, Boston just added an NWSL team and the
MSL MLS will continue to grow.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
I mean apples all over that too. I mean they
know a good thing.
Speaker 9 (43:40):
Yeah, it's great. But I mean just look at all
the soccer that's on TV on Saturday and Sunday mornings
here on USA Network and NBC. I mean it is
big business now soccer in North America.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
Huge. And don't forget World Cup coming here too. Yeah,
so that's also a big deal. Very cool.
Speaker 5 (43:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:55):
Thanks, Let's give away some tickets for that game this
weekend against Carolina Northwest Stadium, and we will do it
with what have we learned on the show today? What
do we have?
Speaker 3 (44:05):
More than a quarter of gen zers say that they
have brought what to a job interview?
Speaker 1 (44:09):
There you go one night hundred four nine three one
double O three good luck from Big one hundred, DC's
Classic Crocket's Big one hundred. Let's se if we can
get a winner on what have we learned on the
show today? We'll go to the phones.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
Hi, who's this Daniel?
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Daniel? How are you this morning?
Speaker 2 (44:22):
Good?
Speaker 1 (44:22):
How are you good?
Speaker 2 (44:23):
Man?
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Good? If you were listening to earlier, we were saying
that twenty five percent of gen Z bring this with
them to a job interview their parent. Yes, a parent,
that's very odd, but yes, indeed. Congrats man. We're going
to set you up a tickets for the game this
weekend night. All right, hold on it, we'll get you
all set up. Okay, we'll have some more of those
(44:45):
to give away tomorrow morning, and we'll have another pair
of Friday morning right here on DC's Classic Rockets Big
one Hundre
