Speaker 1 (00:00):
In its earliest days, the major function of radio was news.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Going on here, let everybody go, why don't you put
on a show and charge it?

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Mission?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Okay, so I would say something, wouldn't use it, I'm.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Commented, you're fucker all be a show for everyone who
loves music and murder. Coming on, Chuck, we gotta take
show to dude.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Showtime. Are you ready? I'm ready to get your job. Anyway,
we go, Hi, how are you happy? Monday? It is
six eleven, DC's classic rock Big One. Marcus Marioto, Mariotto, Mary.
You know, I've never known how to actually say I've no.
I don't think I've ever heard Mariotto say his name.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
I don't think.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Mariotto either way, Marcus, next man up, steps up. It's
a big one for the commanders. Just that was awesome.
I think everybody breathed a collective sigh of relief when
they saw Jayden Daniels come out of the locker room
with a smile on his face. And hopefully I've not
seen any updates yet.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
His mom said that he's fine.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
We saw that last night, shortly after which I was
actually was like, thanks, mom, it's awesome. You were the
first to say he's okay. It had gone dark. Yeah,
so she jumped on Twitter and said he's fine. I
love it, I love it. I'm going to turn to
her for updates from now on.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Right, So.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
It's probably yeah. I think they're going to do some
more tests today just to make sure it's not a
crack rib or a broken rib. But he's definitely got
a rib injury. We'll see how long that's going to
keep him out. But Marcus stepped up big time. Commanders
get to win forty seven at home yesterday, Bring on
the Bears. Speaking of, we're gonna have tickets to give
away for that game every day this week. Stick around.

(02:08):
We'll get to your first letter for the big word
of the week, which is coming up at about seven
twenty this morning. That's good this week for Trans Siberian
Orchestra tickets.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
It is DC's Classic Rock, Big one hundred, DC's Classic Rocket.
It's Big one hundred is Aerosmith and dream on Santana
Mos gonna join us on the show today, coming up
at about eight thirty, and we'll recap yesterday's slaughter. This
is game. It's freaking awesome, freaking awesome. I mean awesome

(02:40):
on one hand. Jan Daniels getting hurt, on the other hand,
is frightening, but hopefully nothing too serious. We'll know more
today for sure. Also, we have one hundred bucks to
give away on Kelly's Oyster House and Bar gift card
a little bit later this morning, area's largest and best

(03:01):
oyster selection from Chesapeak up the coast to Maine, Canada
West Coast. Yum, So we'll have that a little bit later.
And a new letter first letter for the big word
of the week that's good for Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets
this week and then every day this week we're giving
away tickets for the game against the Bears, which was

(03:23):
gonna I mean, we were gonna see number one and
number two face off. I guess we'll have to wait
and get an update on Jane and Daniels to see
if he's gonna play this week or not. The nineteen
is that my computer? That's that's you popped up? I
was pulling up my commander's highlights and it went into
a YouTube commercial. All right, So six twenty seven, we'll

(03:43):
take care some business here coming up. Things I know
just around the corner. DC's classic Crockets Big one hundred
DC's Classic Rockets. Big one Hundred's Queen Kamala Harris turned
sixty yesterday. I think it was yesterday. It was her birthday, sixty.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
It was one day over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
She's a young and she's a youngin you put that
in perspective if you think, like if she's sixty when
she was born, Trump was like sixty, Biden was like eighty.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Who was the youngest president?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Was it was it Kennedy or Jay of Caro Obama?
Or was it Clinton?

Speaker 6 (04:20):
No?

Speaker 7 (04:20):
I think I think it was either jfkro Obama youngest president?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Are you making me google? It's too early to google.
The youngest person who become us president was Theodore Roosevelt.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Oh, never mind that we were both wrong.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
At age forty two. Mm. There's a list here, like
the ten youngest, and of course the Obama's going to
be on there. I think Clinton is on there. But
it's one of those you ever get those? I hate those,
those the clickbait websites, you know, like it pulled up
ten youngest presidents and you clicked her, and it's like

(05:00):
you got to go through like forty different pages where
it's just like next, next, and it's just nothing but
adds the entire thing. I see those and I get
one click in and go nope, nah, uh huh, ain't happening.
It is time for things I know on DC's Classic
Rockets Big one hundred. Don't forget. We're giving away some
tickets a little bit later this morning for the game

(05:21):
against the Bears this weekend, and we'll give you your
first letter for the big ward of the week, and
that's going to be your chance to win Trans Siberian
Orchestra tickets at the end of this week. And Kelly's
Oyster House in bar got one hundred dollars gift card
to give away a little bit later this morning. Detroit, Michigan.
Always found this fascinating. The only city in the United

(05:44):
States that lies directly north of a city in Canada,
and that's Windsor. If you look at a map, it
makes sense. If you try to think about it in
your head, it makes zero sense. In nineteen sixty five,
before he went to the Noam, John McCain was on Jeopardy.
Now I want to find this footage. He was the

(06:06):
one day champion on Jeopardy.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
That's when Bart Fleming was the host.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Nassy used to hold beauty pageants in the fifties and sixties.
I love the titles they've changed over the years. When
it first started it was called Misguided Missile, then it
was Queen of Outer Space, and then it just went
to miss NASA. I think it needs to go back

(06:32):
to misguided miss guided Missile. Wow. Albert Einstein, Edgar Allan Poe,
Jesse James H. G. Wells, Charles Darwin or do they
all have in common? They all married their first cousins.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
The guy from Boston.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
I think a guy in Boston was onto something. Albert
Einstein married his first cousin, Hu Darwin too. King Arthur
did not just have a sword name Excalibur. He also
had a spear that had a name. Its name was Ron.
You can't make the stuff up. His name was Ron.

(07:12):
All Right, it is six forty four. We'll take care
some quick business here.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
Back to it.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Just a few DC's Classic Crock. It's a big one
hundred DC's Classic Crock. It's big one hundred and dreams Fleetwood,
Mac kids Jackson here, Good morning to you your kids.
Halloween Hall this year might have less chocolate in it.
This is the first time seeing at this, but apparently
there's a problem with the chocolate supply. Those houses that

(07:39):
hand out the full sized candy bars just became even
more popular if this is true. CNN did a big
feature on shrink flation and how it could affect chocolate
this Halloween. Apparently, cocoa prices have more than doubled since
the start of the year, apparently severe weather and droughts

(08:01):
in West Africa, and of course they're responsible for about
seventy percent of the world's cocoa supply. Candy companies are
compensating by shrinking the bags and raising the prices, but
there's also talk of using less chocolate in some products.

(08:22):
You might see them swapping out like a layer of
chocolate for other fillings or maybe wafers or nuts or
now I'm gonna have to dig into this. We left
to a little investigation. Candy companies are also pushing the
non chocolate candies more than ever before. The folks of
Mars say they've expanded their fruity and gummy candy lines

(08:43):
because they say young people like that stuff. Do they chocolate?
I don't know about that. Chocolate prices have a lot
to do with them expanding those lines, but they say
the variety packs have even shrunk, so you might pay
the same you should did last year, but you'll get
way less candy in each bag. And uh yeah, I

(09:07):
mean I I my kid comes home still, I hope
he goes out again this year. He's like fifteen out
of him. He's gonna keep doing it. He comes home
and he dumps it all on the table and then
goes to bed, and I just go, yeah, dive in there, man,
steal about half of it. The good stuff too, you
always get too. There were some there were some places

(09:28):
even last year, still in my neighborhood that were handing
out the handing out the full sized candy bars. Just
think is amazing. What's a candy bar costs these days?
Two dollars something like that.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Halloween can be expensive.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Yeah, man, it's the greatest night of the year if
you're handing out full size.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
We had that full size.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Yeah, that's uh, that's a little much.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
It's gonna, it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
I don't think that five year old kid was snot
running down his nose with a you know, a towel
over his head pretending to be a ghost. Deserves a
two dollars piece of cand give him a jolly rancher,
send him on his way, full size candy bars.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Halloween is a big deal in my neighborhood. Like it's
a big deal.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Well, it's because you're old demon worshipers, my nail, my neighbor.
I feel so bad. One of my neighbors is super religious,
just cool, nothing wrong with that. But he's got a
little boy, and the little boy's about five or six,
probably five, and uh, we put up a bunch of

(10:31):
Halloween decorations. I got skulls and you know, skeletons crawling
out of the dirt in my front yard, Giant spiderwebs
all over the house. It's like, well, full on right. Well,
he loves it. He comes out there from next door
and just stares at him, just like wow, that's so cool,
big genant spiders. He just loves it. We asked him, hey,

(10:54):
what are you going to be for Halloween this year?
And he's like nothing, like, well, what do you got
gonna go out trick or treating me? And then finally
after he just kind of hemmed and hard around it
for a little bit, he was we don't celebrate Halloween.
I'm like, oh, you, poor little that's abuse. I don't
get it. They are seriously religious, but that should be reported.

(11:20):
Religion is reportable. Is his eyes light up when he
sees all the Halloween decor? I feel like I'm just
gonna take him over a bag of candy on Halloween. Here, here,
take this with a little skull in it. You don't
have to dress up like a demon and piss off
your parents. Here, this is from us.

Speaker 7 (11:35):
See, just because your parents are stupid, you should not
have to suffer. Well, no, nope, I stand by that.
That is I don't stand by it.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
I don't go as far as calling somebody religious stupid.

Speaker 7 (11:46):
That's stupid. But you're you're you're abusing your kid. You're
taking something away from your kid that your kids should experience.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Is abused.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Now, this is stupid. This is our opinion, right, it's
not abuse.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
Whatever play it say, I can see abuse. I stand
by it, and I stand by it passionately.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
This is our opinion. Like, if you're brought up, for example,
you're Jewish, you don't celebrate Christmas? Okay? Is that abuse?
If your kids suffering from it, Yeah, let's do another one,
all right. If you're a Jehovah's witness and you don't

(12:25):
celebrate your birthday? Is that abuse?

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Religion leads to abuse?

Speaker 7 (12:30):
I just I stick by it. You you, it's something
that I I see kids suffering from it.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
You can be opinionated. I'm just saying I don't know
if I go as part of abuse. I don't have
to agree with it. But I don't feel like my
I don't feel like my neighbor kids abused.

Speaker 7 (12:49):
I feel like my brother was abused because he grew
up in a very very religious.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
There are there are abuse to take it a step
too far, for sure, But when it comes to holiday.

Speaker 7 (13:01):
Like not letting your kids celebrate Halloween, you don't think
that's taking it a step too far.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Well, I don't know if your church considers that to be,
you know, anti God then and I consider that true
abuse and that's what you believe. But you know again,
I wouldn't go call, you know, a Jewish kid abused
because he doesn't celebrate Christ.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
That's that's different.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
How's it different so holiday that their religion doesn't believe him.

Speaker 7 (13:31):
But here's a kid who obviously wants to celebrate it
and his parents are refusing to let him do it.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Your Jewish parents and your kid.

Speaker 7 (13:39):
Wants to do something Christmasy then, and most religious holidays
like that are not I mean, come on, we don't.
We don't emphasize religion on them.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
You're barking up the wrong tree, because I totally agree.
I think it's stupid, but I wouldn't go as far
as calling it abuse.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
I do, I do. I stand by it.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Abuse is when I slap you upside the head with
a belt, when I beat you with a buckle, or
like my grandma used to do when she'd go grab
a switch off a tree. Ah, he said a flashback.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
It was just childhood in the seventies and eighties.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Well true, but it was abuse that was private.

Speaker 7 (14:25):
I consider that kind of religious fundamentalism that is abuse,
and it should it should be addressed.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
A stand by it.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
I'm you have to write to your opinion, that's for sure.
It is seven fifteen DC's class crock It's a big
one hundred DC's class crockets, big one hundred. And don't
you forget about me as simple minds. It's Jackson here.

Speaker 8 (14:49):
Let's give him the letter for the big word of
the week. Shall we the big word? Of the week
on Big one hundred. Today's letter is Today's letter is
the letter R. The letter R is in rat letter R.
At the end of the week, it spells a word,
know the word. Win the prize.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
We have tso tickets to give away for sure, I
believe us on the twenty third of December. Yeah, yeah, perfect,
just in time for Christmas. So December twenty third ts
no Trans Siberian Orchestra. That's the prize. Every day this
week we give you a letter about this time into
the week, spells word, know the word win the prize.
Coming up a little bit later this morning, we have
tickets for the game against the Bears. Santana Moss is

(15:31):
going to join us on the show recap the game
at about eight thirty this morning. And we also have
one hundred bucks on a gift card from Kelly's Oyster
House and Bar, and we'll talk about how you can
win that. Coming up in just a bit. DC's Classic Rock.
It's a big one hundred. DC's Classic Rock. It's big
one hundred, seven forty one. There's Queen a little hope
from David Bowie under pressure Jackson here in good morning
to you, So Yankees beat the Guardians to win the

(15:54):
ALCS Dodgers beat the Mets to When the NLCS World
Series gets underway Friday, October twenty fifth, that's a made
for TV series New York and LA should be pretty good.
No updates yet on Jade and Daniels. Nothing really solid,
but I don't think there's much story about here. First off,
his mother says he's fine, and that came out just

(16:18):
minutes after the jury, when they took him to the
locker room. His mother tweeted, if you don't follow her
on social media, you should. I think her Twitter handles
lovely miss Jackson, lovely misspelled m Z. That's off the
top of my head. If you just search on it,
you can find it. But just minutes after they took
him into the locker room last night, she's like, he's fine.

(16:41):
That was her tweet. Love it as the Commanders, well,
they got a big, big win. Next man up. Mariota
stepped in and stepped in big time. Kind of cool
thing about him. You know, he's a fellow Heisman Trophy
winner too, went to Oregon, and him and Jaden have
similar planes stuff, And so you don't have to switch

(17:02):
the offense up too much, which is probably what they
thought when they when they brought him onto the team.
You know, he doesn't move around like he did ten
years ago, but he still looked pretty good out there
and a big win forty to seven over the Panthers.
Not much official news from the team regarding Daniel's status yet.
Coach Dan Quinn said after the game last night that
or yesterday that well, well it ended evening, didn't it

(17:25):
was a four o'clock game that he did not have
any new information at the moment of the press conference.
But you know, we all saw in return to the
sidelines and street clothes kind of in the second half,
kind of flashed everybody a few smiles, wave to the
crab and his teammates did not provide much intel either,
but none of them seemed too worried. So let's cross

(17:49):
her fingers. It's just like a bruised rib. Those suck
and that's gonna hurt for a while, but hopefully it's
going to be fine. I'm more anxious to here if
he's going to play in the game against the Bears,
just because I was so excited about it. I mean,
I want him to heal. Keep him out as long
as you need to keep him out, make sure he's okay.
But I was pretty excited to see Jadeen Daniels square

(18:11):
up against Caleb Williams in a game at home. So
we'll see. We'll hopefully I have a little update a
little bit later this morning. Maybe Santana might have some news.
We'll talk to him at about eight thirty this morning,
seven forty three DC's Classic Crockets, Big one hundred, DC's
Classic crock h It's Big one one hundred and good

(18:32):
morning to use Santana Moss. Coming up on the show
about eight thirty this morning. We'll recap the game yesterday.
What a fantastic game it was, minus jade and Daniels
suffering an injury. Hopefully it's not a bad one. We
should know more today and we'll see maybe Santana's got
some scoop pul talk to him coming up here in
just a bit and we will get to a chance

(18:55):
for you to win some tickets for the game against
the Bears this weekend, which be a good one. Right now,

(20:49):
Classic Crock It's big one hundred there, it's Nirvana Santana
Moss coming up on the show. Just around the corner here.
Plus tickets to give away for the game against the
Bears this week again Todd once again for Florida Man,
Florida man. Wow, the arrest this time around not that exciting,
to be completely honest with you. But but if you

(21:15):
remember years ago, I think it was twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
the man known as Wide Neck. He was the Florida
guy whose mugshot went viral because his neck was like
as white as his body. It was all over, tons
of memes all over the internet. He's been arrested again,

(21:37):
by the way, If you want to see what it
looks like and for some reason you were under a
rock and never saw that mugshot, just google White Neck.
He gained over a million followers on his social media
accounts after he was arrested the first time back in
twenty eighteen, and then took advantage of it put out

(21:59):
a couple rap songs under the name Wide Neck. And
the first time around he was popped for methamphetamine, cocaine, weed,
and I think a couple other charges. Well, he's been
arrested again, this time for aggravated stalking and withholding child support.

(22:22):
Rest reports stated that I guess he harassed a local resident.
One would assume that that local resident was his ex.
Somebody showed up at her house and apparently sent threatening
text messages. But what makes it so great is we
now have a new mug shot of Wide Neck.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
And.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
His next just as wide as white as it was
in twenty eighteen. He's not smiling in this one, like
the first time around, but definitely worth a Google search.
His actual name is Charles Dion McDowell. But again, if
you just go wide Neck, it'll come up. You might
even run across one of his rap songs. You never know.

Speaker 7 (23:05):
I found a picture my wide neck next to a
guy with like the thinnest neck.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Yeah, says the two of them together.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
It is just the only reason it's uh in the
news is really not a big charge. But the only
reason it's in the news is because now we have
two mugshots of this guy, and I'm telling you just
have to see it. You just have to see it.
And good for him, you know. The first time round,
he took advantage of the popularity and the fact that
his socials blew up to over a million followers, released

(23:36):
a couple of rap songs. But back in the news
in a brand new mug shot just a handful of
years later. All right, Santanta Moss is coming up on
the show. Just around the corner. It's DC's Classic Rock,
Big one hundred, DC's ClassicRock. It's a big one hundred.
It is eight thirty two. We are powered this morning
by Vernon the heating and cooling specialist to man the
best call Vernon Today, Santana Moss on the line, Santanna,

(24:00):
how are you this morning? It feels pretty good, doesn't it? Oh?

Speaker 6 (24:03):
Man, it's all I mean every week it's it's been
feeling great.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Man.

Speaker 6 (24:07):
I'm loving or high right now? Man, I'm loving it high.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Yeah, it's uh, it's pretty fantastic right off the bat.
Have you heard anything on Jaden's injury.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
No, I didn't hear anything.

Speaker 9 (24:19):
I just, you know, just like everybody else, I saw
him on the sideline, like you know, after he came
out in the street clothes, and you know you heard
initially that it was I believe, but real or something
like that, and you can just see it from how
he was grimacing a little bit that it was something
you know, you know in that area. But didn't hear anything.
Oh yet, I'm pretty sure that all that stuf would
be coming out today once he gets in the building

(24:40):
and start you know, you know, going through the different
protocols and stuff.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Yeah, that in that big run, I mean I I
replayed it a couple of times because it looked like
he almost got folded in half. Uh. At the end
of that run and I was like, oh, please, please, please,
And then he got up seemed fine. But then, like
you said, you could see him grimacing on a couple
of other plays and uh, and then the one where
he just went he didn't even slide, he just kind
of laid down, and when he was getting up he

(25:05):
could see a look on his face. And you're like, oh, no, no, no,
no no.

Speaker 9 (25:10):
But yeah, I mean, it happens, man. I mean, you know,
folks gonna, folks gonna start.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
You don't start hearing the whispers.

Speaker 9 (25:15):
Of people, oh this is well, you don't want them
to run. It's football, yes, ribs ribs. Quarterbacks get hitting
the ribs while theyre in the pocket.

Speaker 6 (25:22):
So that's one of the things.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
That you know, I want to put out there now.

Speaker 9 (25:25):
Man, when it's time for you to take these knicks
or feel like you're feeling in football, it just happens,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
That's that's the that's to me.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
The way of the game.

Speaker 9 (25:34):
You're gonna have these moments when you go through that,
these little bumps and bruises, and I'm pretty sure he
had his fair share, but man, yeah, man.

Speaker 6 (25:41):
It was a very explosive play.

Speaker 9 (25:43):
It started our you know, our offense off ever after
the big defense went out there and scored a big, big,
huge touchdown. And it's just one of those things.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Man.

Speaker 9 (25:52):
I mean, this team just show you, man, every time
you're on the field. You know, they they they are
making that everyone that came back can start feeling those
seats up. They're giving them something to really cheer about.
Absolutely all the time they stepped on the field.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah. Absolutely. And and you know you played for many,
many years and how long would it Let's I hate
to make assumptions for let's assume it's just like a
bruise drive. How long did those take before you're back
out on the field.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
It's different strokes for different folks.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
Man.

Speaker 9 (26:20):
I broke my ribs when I was with the Jets,
and it's crazy they didn't tell me it was broke.
I'm not sure it was their fault or not, but
I actually played with it thinking it was bruised, to
then later find out it was broke after the season.

Speaker 5 (26:33):
But I played the whole I played.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
The rest of the year with it. I mean it
bothered me, you know, being.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
A receiver, had to take the hits and falling and stuff.
It bothered me.

Speaker 9 (26:41):
But after like two games and then having a guy
that was treating it for me, once it got to
the point to where it felt like a nick. I
went out there and played football. But that's that's that's
how we're wired. You understand, so certain things, certain folks
can take certain.

Speaker 6 (26:54):
Things and certain nicks and bruises.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
But he's a quarterback, and you want to make sure
that you're thinking about his longevity in his game and
so whatever it takes for him to heal up. Man,
you know, may may Mariota be ready to go out.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
There and do he did yesterday?

Speaker 1 (27:07):
Yeah and yeah, and look, Jayden's a tough guy. If
you know, if he can be back by the Bears game,
I'm sure he will be back by the Bears game.
But on that Mariota, Wow, you know what I found
interesting was it was and that's probably why they brought
him in is you know, he has a very fellow

(27:27):
Heisman Trophy winner at Oregon and he has a very
similar play style to Jayden Daniels. Now, he may not
be you know, the Mariota from ten years ago, but
he's he's still pretty impressive. And I'm guessing you don't
have to mix the offense up too much. You don't
have to make any giant changes bringing him into the
game because it seemed like the same play.

Speaker 9 (27:50):
That's the that's the luxury of what we have right
now at our exposal. You got to give full credit
to the coaching staff and to the ownership. Not the ownership,
but I you know, manager, just knowing that, Hey, you
know what, why bring a different quarterback here to be
the backup? Then you have to change things. You have
to change the style or play, you have to change
the office up every time he steps in the game.

(28:12):
And I'm grateful that you have a guy with the
experience like Mariota who probably once you know, had his
way with the same offense, you know what I'm saying,
And so he was able also not only to be
a backup to Jaden, but also help him along the
way to speed things up. So when you look at
stuff now, you're seting yourself like, wow, okay, maybe this

(28:32):
is why Jaden saw ahead of the curve.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
Because one, you have a guy in Mariota.

Speaker 9 (28:36):
Who does similar to what you've done, you know what
I mean, or doing right now early in his career,
and he has a familiarity you know, with this coaching staff,
with you know, Kingsbury and all that.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
So it's just great man. How they you know, structured everything.

Speaker 9 (28:50):
And it was even greater just seeing Mariota get his
chance and.

Speaker 6 (28:54):
Knowing how this game is.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Man. You know, as a player you haven't played.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
In a long time. It's a lot of us you
have to deal with.

Speaker 9 (29:01):
So see him get in that game and shake the
rust off in front of our eyes.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
And go out there and be special. Oh man, what
a game for him.

Speaker 9 (29:09):
And I'm happy that he had that moment because every
guy that's in his shoes want to at least still
go out there and be that kid again and have
fun in this game.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Yeah, and I tell you what, man, we are really
fortunate to have him, and he did. He knocked the
rust off quick first drive. You were like uh oh
uh oh, but it was like, all right, you know,
this is first team. He's not getting a lot of
reps with him. He's gonna warm up. And when he
warmed up, yep, there was looked great. You know what
else looks fantastic. That defense is coming along, man, just

(29:37):
steady improvements ever since week one. Luvu is out there
just lighting it up. Sack after sack and where do
you think. Look, even didn't Emmanuel Forbes even had an interception,
didn't you They're just they're on fire right now. Do
you think, yeah, me too, Me too? Is such a
great guy. Do you think before the trade deadline, do

(29:59):
you I think there are spots on defense that might
need improvement or no?

Speaker 6 (30:03):
I mean, you know, like I'm like you you know,
I'm out here.

Speaker 9 (30:05):
I'm not speculating, you know, saying that, hey, maybe we
can And I'm pretty sure that they know better than us,
you know, what they may need or what you know,
may not need. But I think, you know, it's always
room for improvement. And I'm pretty sure if they have
the money, have the cauch space, they will go out
there and get that one or two guys that they
may need. But just looking at what they did yesterday, man, defensively,

(30:26):
you're talking about a team that's coming in here with uh,
you know, Trooper Herbert or he won those guys that
that was like, you know, one of the top running
backs in the league.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
And you say, in order for us to have put our.

Speaker 6 (30:38):
Stamp in this game, we have to slow down and run.
You know, last week we.

Speaker 9 (30:42):
Went out there and saw King Henry and those guys
and and they put a to us in the run game.

Speaker 6 (30:46):
So our defense man got to give them full credit
for you.

Speaker 9 (30:49):
Know, sparking the whole you know, the whole day with
just what they did defensively, for turning getting that first
turnover and taking it back to the house and then
putting a stamp on the game and saying, hey, we're
not going to allow you to run because if you
don't get going running, then you can't get going past it.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
And that's just what they did. They stopped these guys.

Speaker 9 (31:06):
These guys Billy had two hundred yards yesterday. I think
it was one hundred and eighty yards total off there,
you know what I mean. So that's a great performance
by defense. That was just you know, a week away
from allowing you know, two hundred plus yards rushing. So man,
hats off to decordinated Hats off to the guys who
are out there and got the job done.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
I tell you what, between Dan Quinn and Joe Wait Junior,
that that defense is starting to become pretty impressive. B Rob,
he is a special man, that guy. Having him back
in the lineup, Wow, seventy one yards twelve carries, several
of which helped Washington keep the change moving. And then
of course he scored a six touchdown of the season,

(31:47):
making a career high. So it's like we really feel
it when he's gone, and you really feel it when
he's back.

Speaker 9 (31:54):
The b Rob effect. Man, I mean, you know, coach
boke about it. You know last week not having him
in that game, and we lost a little bit of
our physic catalyt, you know what I mean, We lost
a little bit of that that that he brings. And
you saw it soon as he got in the game.
You know, guys wants to get out of his way
when he's running the ball, you know, and he's a
guy like be Mint to always say, Man, when a
guy running at you smiling, that's the guy you don't

(32:16):
want to be messing with. And so man, it's just
a great feeling, man, just to see, you know, when
you have special pieces like that, especially what he brings
the tail.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Because even I'm a receiver.

Speaker 9 (32:28):
I always had a team where I had a back
like b Rob, whether he was a bruiser or not,
I had a great back that we.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
Always ran our offense around and through.

Speaker 9 (32:38):
And so when you see offenses having success, you have
to have that, you know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
You want to be.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Able to have a I guess you could say a
balance attack. You know, the run game goes.

Speaker 9 (32:48):
Well and that makes the passing game just that much,
you know better, And that's what we have going on.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
Man.

Speaker 9 (32:53):
When b Rob wasn't there last week, we saw the effects,
but we still went out there and play some great football.
For having him this week was everything, man, And I'm
happy that he's back, and I'm happy that we have
all those guys, but b Rob is definitely one of
those guys that was truly missed last week.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Yeah, it is fantastic when you think about it too,
because we have we have b Rob, we have Eckler
and McNichols has been lightened it up too, so it's
like we've got depth there. We've got depth of quarterback.
I mean, things are looking good, man, things are looking good.
How do you how do you think they match up
against Caleb and the Bears?

Speaker 6 (33:27):
I mean, you know it's right now.

Speaker 9 (33:28):
Early, so I haven't really got into my whole you know,
rundowns and looking at things, but just from what I see, man,
you know it's gonna be one of those games. I
think the biggest matchup's gonna be Caleb and Jaden, So
now we have to see, you know, how that pans out.
But you know, the Bears came into this season Ryan
high on, you know, hoping that their defense is going
to be the vocal point for these guys. So I'm

(33:49):
not sure I picked him on my fantasy this year
to be, you know, my defense for my fantasy, and
it's been okay, they've been this you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
But it's still early in the season.

Speaker 9 (33:58):
There's so many more games left, man, So this week
I'm gonna dive into and see, you know, what the
Bears bring to the brain, to the party.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
But I'm pretty sure these guys over here and burning
and gold and be ready to play.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Oh yeah yeah, And that's gonna be a fun game, man.
We're really looking forward to it, Santana. It's always a pleasure,
my friend. I look forward to talking to you next week,
and hopefully it'll be post victory against the Bears, right,
okay't wait. Have a great day, Santana. Mosc Ladies and gentlemen.
