(00:51):
evening again. Welcome the Rocker AttendeeStadium. Here Fisher mcdeviitt High School Art
Solby Marty Bowman, thank you sobyout here in the press box with us
and J. C. Floyd flyingthe plane. Back in the news Radio
WHP five eighty studios. Here tonight, Bisi mcdevait Football on the air once
again. The Crusaders eight and zeroon the season. Tonight, they host
the Mifflin County Huskies, who comein with a four and four record.
(01:12):
Marty. Last week, Bishop mcdeviita forty nine to nothing win over Redland
Crusaders are up forty two to nothingat the half. In that game,
he had Stone Saunders thirteen to nineteen, two hundred and fifty three yards,
six touchdown passes receiving wise Rico Scottseven receptions one hundred and sixty eight yards
(01:33):
and two touchdowns and Chase Reagan threereceptions three for fifty three yards and two
touchdowns. Also, a John tayQuick had a touchdown in the game for
Bish mcdebit and Nick Slodgik also caughta fifteen yarder from Stone Saunders. The
mcdebit defense totally dominant again. Theyforced five turnovers in the game and only
allowed sixty five yards, most ofthat in the second half. Now,
(01:56):
five turnovers, you know you're notgoing to win the football game. It's
pretty difficult to ask the eagle, but you might see a few wrinkles tonight.
This is the time that you mightwant to show a play that you're
never going to use, or youmight not use for three or four weeks,
but you want it on a film, so they got to think about
it. So those couple of thingsyou'll see and then we might not see
(02:16):
them until the you know, thedistrict's championship or who knows when, if
at all, that would be oneof the wrinkles or some of the wrinkles
that you're gonna look for tonight.Probably if you're Mifflin County and you're one
of these young men, you wantto be the team that stops us express.
You want to be the team thatyou know, polls the huge upset.
(02:38):
So it's not taking anything lately atall. Coach and I've talked about,
you know, keeping the kids focused. That was an issue a little
bit last week, even though thescore might not indicate it. So yeah,
you want to keep them focused andyou want them geared up. And
you also might see penny on thescore. You could see the first team
(03:04):
go a little longer because they haveto get reps because they have one more
game. Then they're gonna have atwo week layoff with the buye and so
they need to get some reps andso you know people are gonna complain,
but as coach says, I haveto coach. My team Mifflin County comes
in here tonight four and four, coming off the loss to Hershey last week
twenty four to fourteen. They startedoff the air of two victories over Central
(03:27):
Mountain and Chica Lemmy then lost toAltuona and Lower Dolphin. They defeated Palmyra,
came back and lost to Cedar Cliff, won a really crazy game out
in Milton Hershey forty two thirty five, and then last week the loss to
Hershey twenty four to fourteen. Sothey come in. They're led by other
quarterback landon Ikhorn. He's passed forover one thousand yards on the season and
(03:50):
now they're running back Deacon Schaeffer nineyards away from another thousand yard season for
the Mifflin County Huskies. All Right, we have a nice interview Marty did
with coach Jeff Wecker, so we'regoing to get to that first, or
we'll take a look at tonight's weatherforecast, brought to you by Patlice Brothers
Authentic Italian Gourmet Sausage. And whenwe return with that's next. You are
listening to Bishop McDevitt football on newsradio w HP five eighty. Tradition never
(04:15):
graduates. You're listening to Bishop MC'sP five eighty and iHeartRadio Party bowling alongside
coach Jeff Pucker. Bishomcat High Schoolcoach tell us a little bit about the
Red Land game. What you likedidn't like after you you know, viewed
the films and you know what youmight have to work on a little bit,
have worked one this week. Ilike how the defense played. They've
(04:39):
been playing well all year. Otherthan the the Paul Catholic game. They
shut down the run game. Youknow, they pretty much shut another their
passing game. But what I reallyliked is, you know, we came
up with five turnovers. It's oneof the things that when I said we
haven't done We've done some, butnot as much, you know, as
(05:00):
dominated as we are that we probablyshould be. And you know, for
those were interceptions and the defense dida great job offensively. You know,
we ran the ball, we threwthe ball, you know, with success.
But I was a little disappointed. You know. I talked to the
team about especially the receivers and runningbacks and the quarterbacks. You know,
we wanted to sharpen up the passinggame. Take the right read when they're
(05:25):
there, you know, not makeso many mistakes. And even though we
had success, uh, you know, we we we dropped two balls.
You know, we missed some reads. But are splits in some of our
routes weren't there just you know, maybe running a wrong route on the backside.
(05:48):
Uh, those are things, youknow, I wanted to clean up
because we had a little bit ofthat, you know, in the last
couple of games. But we didn'tget it done. So we're working real
hard. We work real hard onthat this week and hopefully you know,
tonight will come out and you know, again it is just you know,
(06:10):
to the people that don't know ouroffense, think, hey listen, I
see you throwing you guy, guysopen their scoring. But for me,
you know that know what I calledand see what the defense is doing and
sometimes where the ball should have wentor you know why it wasn't successful because
of alignments of splits. I mean, there's a lot of little things that
(06:33):
go in, especially in the passinggames. So those are the things we
worked hard on all week that Iand that's what I really came out of
there not liking and trust me,I let the offense know, yeah,
well, obviously we can't do thisbe nice sometimes if you set up there
with Art and I, you couldjust analyze every playing what went right,
what went wrong? Becky Selby weighingin with a couple of questions. You
(06:55):
said you like Becky's. So,first one, do you have any routine
on Friday? If you want toinclude something that you feel like you got
to do every Friday. What's Fridaylook like that routine? And you know,
actually Friday, I leave my housebecause I have k F two duty
(07:16):
and I like to get a fewthings done in the morning. I leave
my house at five forty five.Just about every morning other than Thursdays,
I leave earlier because of having towalk through Thursday before school. Actually on
Fridays, I leave about fifteen minuteslater, about six o'clock, just because
I want to get it's a longday. I think my Apple Watch had
(07:40):
me last week up for twenty onestraight hours on my feet. So what
I like to do is Thursday night, you know, I do the charging
of the batteries and the iPads forour filming, and so I get all
that ready, you know, Itry to pack my bag. You know
what I'm gonna wear a pregame. What I'm gonna wear for the game,
(08:05):
and so that's the biggest thing, and just take a couple of extra minutes
at home probably, you know, when I get here, a little superstitious,
and it affects when we're not inschool sometimes. All right, So
since we moved here in January twentythirteen, there's one place. It's kind
of my parking space. And sometimesif we're not in school, when I
(08:28):
come in and somebody's parking in myparking space, I'm a little superstitious where
we're gonna lose. So, youknow, then Friday is just you know,
do my classes. I do notlike to, you know, go
back and watch film anymore. I'llgo over to the game plan in my
head. There's sometimes I'll go inthe equipment room for about twenty minutes to
(08:52):
half hour, you know, ifit's a big game and you know,
in the dark, and just kindof visualize how I think the game might
go. Hey, they give usthis, this is what I'm gonna do,
you know, and then you know, then it just gets in After
school, we you know, wedo our routine of the whole team goes
in the chapel, we say theHoly Rosary, we coach Tom DeAngelis.
(09:13):
Then the parents come in and feedthem, and then anywhere between three thirty
and three forty we take the varsity, the quarterbacks and receivers out and we
do some warm up drills. Thenthe rest of the teams come out.
About twenty minutes later, we doa walk through home and away. If
it's away, when we come in, we got to get our stuff and
(09:33):
you know, the bus. Ifit's a home game, we come in
and and you know, I justkind of set my office while the rest
of the coaching staff has a goodtime down there in the coach's office,
and then we just go out forpregame and then go out for the game.
But yeah, so it's more ofa routine I have Thursday night going
(09:54):
into Friday. And then again thesuperstitious part would be I don't like people
parking on my parking space on gameday. And we'll have more of the
Biship mcdebit pregame show coming up nexthere on news radio WHP five eighty and
iHeart Radio catch every Bishop mcdebit game, whether on Fox Sports fourteen sixty or
(10:15):
news Radio WHP five eight on iHeartRadio. Now back to the field here listening
to vision with Debit Football. We'retalking with coach check record. Coach,
you mentioned the walkthrough. It's beenseveral years now that you switch that to
(10:41):
Thursday morning. Is that correct thatyou either would do it Thursday afternoon or
Friday morning and it has worked foryou. Yeah. You know, you
know when you go back to twentyten through twenty fifteen, there were in
those years we played sixteen sixteen, fifteen, fifteen sixteen, and fifteen straight
(11:03):
games. You know, I learneda long time ago. In two thousand
and four, first time we wona district title as me as a head
coach, we went on this intothe state semifinals, and our players and
coaches were physically and mentally exhausted. You know, there were no days off.
We grinded, grinder, grind. It kept them here until sometimes seven,
(11:24):
eight o'clock at night watching film. And you know, I learned after
that you got to go and break. But even then with giving them a
break, those seasons were so long. In twenty thirteen, I'm like,
you know, when we moved here, I'm like, you know, we've
got to do something. And Iwent back to a guy who used to
be that I met out at Nike. On a plane trip to Oregon,
(11:46):
a guy named Rush Propes, whowas on Hoover High School on MTV back
around two thousand and five six calledtwo a Day's TV show on MTV and
I remember going back talking to himand he said one of the things they
do to try to keep fresh isthey do their walkthrough and said after school
on Thursday, do it for Thursdaymorning and then go out eat. Well,
(12:09):
we're so spread out we can't dothat as a team, but I
like that. The kids at firstwere like, coach, what are we
doing? They didn't want to doit, But after the first time or
two they're like, coach, let'skeep on doing this. And early in
the season, maybe the first orsecond week, I feel we need a
little bit longer walk through, sowe don't do it, and the kids
complained they'd rather come in because it'snice. It keeps them off their legs
(12:33):
a little bit longer than not goingout on Thursday. But the biggest thing
is mentally they get to be likea high school kid. You know,
when the bell rings it two fortyfive here at mcdevid, they're out and
the only day they get to doit yeah, yeah, and there their
head coach is kind of the sameway. You know, I'm out pretty
quick too, and it's nice togo home, you know, like yesterday
(12:54):
I got home cut the gray ass. You know, got a Thursday that
gives me a chance to try toget away from football a little bit.
So yeah, we really like it. Second question, Becky Selby, I
don't know how much. You don'tget a big chance to watch a lot
of TV. Obviously, you knowyou're not going to watch a thousand games
(13:16):
you got to watch. Is therea team that you would national, a
high school team that you would liketo say, what I wonder how we
match up against? That'd be kindof nice to play that kind of a
team, you know. Obviously herein Pennsylvania, you know we're looking at
maybe possibly, you know, playingin Saint Joe Prepp at some point,
(13:39):
you know, obviously, you know, I've talked to some people who played
them last year, you know,Lesal College played them, they played us,
and you know, coach Steman's gaveme a good feeling of how we
match up with them last year. This year, you know, playing the
Paul Catholic I mean, you know, coach Kevin Hill's brother is the head
(14:03):
coach at Burton Catholic, so they'rea big one here. We've already played
the MATHA. I mean, maybeMaynor d or you know, Bosco California,
Oregon, or you know, Igot to know in two thousand and
six and seven when we were inNike school and got flown out to Oregon.
(14:24):
I got to know Gary Joseph, the head coach at Katie, Texas.
They want a lot of state championships, so you know, you know
what, or maybe Allen because I'dlove to go down there and play in
a high school stadium like they have. So yeah, I mean you do.
I don't get a chance to watchmuch of that really, the only
chance I'd really get a chance towatch any TV Maybe a little bit of
(14:48):
the Thursday nights games, but thenI'm tired from getting up so early.
You know, I see some ofthe college games on Saturday, and then
you know, I'll always watch theEagles and even you know, with when
we have a player in like BryceHall. I have Sunday tickets, so
(15:09):
I've been on, but I'm usuallyworking. Like if I watch if the
Jets game plays opposite of the Eagles, I'll have it on while I'm working
next time you go to Nike.I mean no, my son would love
to meet you. He'd love toknow the person that I talk about all
the time. Well, we'd haveto go back, we'd have to go
back to, you know, wearingthe swoops. So we'll see. I'm
not going to get into that one, okay. So Becky Selby appreciates a
(15:33):
chance to ask those questions. Theprogram you personally, the school, the
area lost a a good friend andfather Acrave That means a lot to you
into the school. Yeah, youknow, father I agreed. You know,
he was a great man. Didso much for bish mc david.
(15:54):
You know, he did masses forus. He did some religious retreats for
the football team, called me,you know, called me after the state
championship game, you know, becausehealth he couldn't make it. But really,
and so it was neat because Ithink in his will he put for
(16:15):
his funeral arrangements that he wanted sixfootball players, mcdebit football players to be
his Paul Bears. And I'm thinking, wow, none of these kids ever
met father Acary because he hasn't beento mcdebit since twenty nineteen before COVID,
and now that they're some of myolder brothers that they could ask because father
(16:38):
Achary including I think he was maybeeighty four years old in twenty nineteen.
In the summer and then in thefall, especially in the summer when it's
hot. At eighty four years old, well we're practicing, he's watching practice,
but he's on the track doing windsprints at eighty four years old.
It was amazing, amazing. Guycared so much for Bish mcdebity come in
(17:00):
and up until COVID, he comein every Tuesday, actually quite a few
days during the week, but everyTuesday and say, man, it's for
the faculty before school. So whenI kind of I said, listen,
I need six guys to represent theteam to be Paul Bears. And they
all kind of like, who youknow? And then I said, you
(17:22):
know, besides being a priest andBitch mcdevion graduate, he was a real
good running back at Bitch mcdevon inthe nineteen fifties. All of a sudden,
all the hands went up because theyknew he was one of them.
Yeah, and you know, soyou know, last Friday before the game,
we went to you know, thefaculty and some of the coaches,
(17:42):
and then you know the guys.We had Paul Bears and the neat thing
was we had more than six guysvolunteer, and so it was nice.
And you know, we'll miss fatherAchary and everything, but we thank well
every thing he did for us andhaving the time we had spent with him.
Just carry said, the guys dogame jersey or they do suits.
Our guys look real good. Wewere in suits. Okay, okay,
(18:04):
great, all right tonight Mifflin Countycoming down here and actually almost lost this
game the one year with the floodingup there with the county. But so
they're here tonight. What what areyou looking to do? What are you
I did notice you went a littlelonger with the starters last week because we're
getting down to that point where yougot to you got to get time and
(18:26):
reps with them. So if youwant to comment on that, fine,
what about tonight then yeah, Imean I'll do the first about the starters
last week. Yeah, I mean, you know, we wanted to get
them a series in the second half, and when you're getting these mercery rules
for the second half, the time, you just go so fast. You
know, we gotta turn on rundefense. We got to pick and the
(18:48):
first play we got a touchdown.Run the football, So you know,
the kids say, coach that'sin countyis our one that other year? You're
right? And so you know, and then way to three and out.
I mean we could have I threwthe ball on third down and kids were
like, well, why'd you justthrow a hitch on third and fifteen if
we be fourth down? I said, because I told you guys a couple
(19:11):
of weeks ago, no matter whatI call is, you got to get
to the sticks. So I didn'twant to do anything elaborate where I was
trying to rub their faces in.But yeah, I mean it's time,
you know, our practice time. It's hard right now because the grass practice
field isn't the greatest here. Youcan only you already get real good work
when you get the turf. Andyou know, last week we had it
(19:34):
for like an hour total and thisweek we only had it for two hours.
And you worry. So while youhave the turf, you're not going
to do your conditioning. And onthe grass there's ruts over there, so
you don't want to do conditioning overthere. Actually, when we're on the
turf. It's a lot of justhitting sleds and walk through stuff because we
(19:56):
don't want to anybody blow on anankle or knee. So, but we
got the playoffs coming, you know, eventually we have to play a four
quarter game, and you know,it's been a while since we've done that,
and so probably the PAULK. Catholicbecause I think even LSU College we
put in some backups in the fourthquarter. So yeah, it's uh,
(20:21):
you know, it's something we needto do. You know, as far
as tonight, you're right. Twoyears ago, we were actually supposed to
play on a Thursday night and theyhad more rain up there than us that
have flooded, and we were worriedabout getting them down here on a Friday
night. You know, it lookslike we could have some rain tonight,
so you know, we just haveto go out and execute. You know,
(20:44):
we had a talk, we hada team meeting on Monday about cleaning
some stuff up on and off thefield a little bit, and you know,
just you know, we've been goodall years on penalties, but you
know, they started to creep backa little bit, and really a lot
of them are just you know, you don't need to do blocking in the
back on kickoff returns, a holdingon on to what it is a quick
(21:11):
game for us, and call backa touchdown holding because you took a bad
angle. So a lot of thingswe want to clean up tonight. Uh,
they're gonna come in. They gota really good running back. He
rushed for two hundred and fifty someyards against Milton Hershey two weeks ago.
You know, we just have toplay Bish mcdeviit football. You know,
(21:33):
if it does rain, we justcan't turn the ball over. You know,
that's you know, that's when youturn the ball over and you're on
the minus side of it, usuallybad things happened. Okay, appreciate it,
Coach, our condolences to you personallyto McDevitt. All right, thanks
guy, and we'll have more ofthe Bish mcdevittt pregame show coming up next
(21:53):
right here on news radio w HPfive eight, The Arch Bish mcdeviit High
School Football twenty two twenty three ison the air. Thanks for listening.
Congratulations Fish and mcdebit fans everywhere. The Fisher mcdebbitt family and these Crusaders are
your twenty twenty two state champions. They did it in style. Crusader Football
(22:15):
is brought to you by Green SpringAdvisors, Pugleice Brothers, Authentic Italian Gourmet
Sausage, Select Physical Therapy, andMister Sticky's Homemade Sticky Buns of Central Pa.
It's now time for kickoff. Let'shead out to the field with your
game announcers Art Selby, Marty Bowman, Rob Puglese and J. C.
Floyd. All Right, welcome backto Rocker Atensia Stadium. Here Fish mcdibitt
(22:44):
High School, Art Selby, Martygo ready for football. Fish mcdebitt with
the final word here on the nearsideline. Crusaders tonight with the gold jerseys,
the dark blue numbers, white pantswith the blue and gold trim,
and of course the gold helmets. The Mifflin County Huskies come in tonight,
(23:06):
white jerseys, purple numbers, purplepants and the white helmets with some purple
outline on them as well. SomeMarty. Very damp evening here at rock
Rotenzio Stadium. Of course, itis senior night. Rob put Gleist doing
a fantastic job announcing all the seniorshere from the different sports here at McDevitt,
But we are just about ready forfootball at this point. Definitely,
(23:30):
we could see the effects of thatwhat football. As you look out,
there's certain spots that hold a littlebit more water. Here on the I
call it the south end, closestto Day Street. From the twenty out
about the forty it's pretty moist, and then kind of the same at the
other end, little moist more thanwhat the middle of the field is.
So you know, there'll be someslip in, there could be some drop
(23:52):
balls, there could be some ballsthat take off on the quarterbacks. Looks
like Michael mcnick out to kickoff forthe Huskies. He will kick off towards
the Dairy Street end of the fieldhere at bish McDevitt High School and Chase
Reagan. Now the kick goes short, they blow it dead though when over
it was a pouch kickover around thethirty four yard line on the far side,
(24:17):
but they blow it dead whistle ornot. Art. If I'm one
of those up men, I'm comingup and catching the football. We saw
last weekend what happened when one ofthe college guys didn't come up and catch
the football and it was a liveball. So lit'tle re spot this thing
here back at the forty yard line. Looks like Chase Reagan and I believe
(24:38):
Rico are back deep from mcdevid standingaround the ten yard line. Two explosions
ready to happen or at any timethat would be the understatement of the year.
Just so much speed and talent. And here's mcnick's kick this time.
He kicks this one a little deeperand it'll be taken. It the fifteen
brought back to the twenty by Rico. He's got the twenty five. It's
(25:00):
outside thirty five, forty forty five, fifty down. He goes to the
forty six yard line of Mifflind Countyand a nice return for Bisha mcdebit to
get the game started. Marty. It was in Rico had his mindset.
He was setting up a right returnhere to the near side, came over,
had one more man left, couldn'tdo the sidel like he normally does,
(25:21):
so he had to cut it backinside, got tackled there at the
forty five yard line. Definitely spotit right on the forty five yard line
of Mifflin County. Bishop mcdebit drivingtowards the Union deposit end of the field.
Here at Rock Rotenzio Stadium, Crusaderswith two white outs to the far
side, one of the near that'sChase Reagan stone Fires went quickly out the
Rico forty five turns the corner fortythirty five thirty and pushed that out of
(25:45):
bounds at around the twenty seven yardline. That looks like gain eighteen.
First down Bishop mcdebit. Just aquick flare out to the left to the
far side of the field. Arkgot a great block from Nevin Hopkins.
And the important thing about the lockedfrom Nevin Hopkins with he didn't hold it
very long, did not want toget called for a holding. He got
Rico wide and then he let itgo. Smart move by Nevin Hopkins.
(26:10):
First down in ten Bishop mcdebitt atthe twenty seven yard line of Mifflin County
Crusaders will bring three wide receivers onthe near side and the line two up
over on the far side. Stoneawaits the snap. Now rests are going
to stop things here, And didyou see a penalty flag? I think
(26:33):
they're just so. They must haveadjusted the spotter something like that. So
I right, three wide outs again, to the near side from mcdebit two
to the far same formation. Stoneall alone in the backfield. Stone awaits
the snap, Fires went quickly tothe outside to Quick. He's got the
twenty five spins back twenty fifteen anddown to the ten yard line, gain
(26:57):
of about seventeen for John take Quickon the pass from Stone. First down
Bisha mcdebit once again, Nevin Hopkinsthis time also Gage Ruth. And one
of the things that they really teacherat mcdebbitt for the wideouts, you got
to block for each other, andthey take pride in that. The two
wides that time really set that up. So Bishop mcdebitt already at the ten
(27:19):
yard line of Mifflin County forty secondsinto the game, Chase Reagan out on
the far side, Rego on thenear side. It's like Maurice Barnes in
the backfield with Stone, and theyhand us the Barnes. Barnes up the
middle, fights forward and they're gonnasay he's down at about the half yard
(27:40):
line, so it'll be second ingoal for Bishop mcdebitt very second, about
a foot that's all he needed. He was falling into the end zone and
came down. Looks like maybe aball and a half short, So just
out a half yard short, asyou said, So second down and goal
Bishop mcdebitt. No score in thegame, just getting started here. Ten
to forty left to play first quarter. I'll say this, Barnes got a
(28:03):
really quick start on that, maybetoo quick. He had a good first
step. Reese in the backfield againbehind Stone, one wide receiver to each
side of the field for Bishop mcdebitt, and they give it to Barnes.
Barnes up the middle and he pushesforward into the end zone for a Bishop
mcdebit touchdown, and of ten twentyone left to play first quarter, the
Crusaders go up six nothing over inMifflin County. That time you saw a
(28:27):
little bit of the heavy package andBarnes followed Jack Dawson, who we see
so often in that heavy back position. Dawson leading the way in for Barnes
for the touchdown. Linda Ono temptthe extra point for Bishop mcdebit Tyler ron
Hart. The holder kick is upand it is good. So ten twenty
(28:53):
one left to play first quarter.Bisho mcdebit up seven nothing over Mifflin County
will take a break. You're listeningto Vish Debit here on news radio WHP
five eighty and iHeart Radio Boo isBishop mcdebit football twenty twenty three on news
radio WHB five eighty And welcome backto Rocko Ortenzie Stadium Here at Bishop mcdebitt
(29:15):
High School and Senior Night. Bishopmcdebit up seven to nothing on the one
year touchdown run by Maurice Barnes. Now the Crusaders will kick off. Lou
Linda will kick this one off. It's a short kick and a fair catch
is called for it to twenty. It hits the player and the chest bounces
down in the field, and Ibelieve Bishop mcdebit's gonna have it at the
twenty one yard line than they do. R J duffy recovered the fumble on
(29:40):
that one, Marty. R JDuffy, he called for a fair catch.
He seemed a little tentative, youknow, get in his hand up,
got his hand up quick, broughtit back down, ball bounced right
off his chest. R J duffyreally just picked it up or fell on
it on the fly. So Bishopmcdebit, after scoring quickly we'll get the
ball now at Mifflin County's twenty twoyard line, ten fourteen left to play.
(30:03):
First quarter, at seven nothing,Vision mcdebitt Crusaders offense back onto the
field. Here. It's like Bishopmcdebitt will go with three wide receivers on
the far side, one to thenear that's Chase Reagan, and it looks
like Jones Davis or Swoops. Swoopswas in the backfield. In the backfield,
(30:25):
Stone back to pass, fires wentover the middle. He's got a
man wide open. That's Nevin Hopkinsinside the five down to the three,
first and goal. Bishop mcdebit actuallyart, there was like three defenders in
the area, but no one reallyclose. Stone threw it a little behind.
Nevin haven't had to stop and wait. Maybe he scores, but even
with it being behind, the coveragewas very soft and Nevin just was able
(30:48):
to cradle it and get it downto the four yard line. So first
and goal. Bishop mcdebit Chase Reaganto go out on the far side.
There's a wide receiver, John tayQuick, we'll join him over the air.
Swoops still in the backfield, andit's Rico Scott Nevian Hopkins on the
near side, swoops lines up tothe right. Mcdevin comes with the sweep
(31:11):
the balls on the ground. Johntay Quick is able to recover the fumble
though, and pick it up andrun it back to close to the line
of scrimmage around the forty yard line. Yeah, Dante Cricket did a nice
job there, because, as yousaid, the pitch back fumbled, it
might have been a little high uptowards the shoulder pads. Fortunately bounced right
(31:32):
back up to him and as yousaid, already got it back to the
line of scrimmage. Nine p thirtyleft to play here in the first quarter.
Clock has stopped for some reason. We're going to say it's an incomplete
pass. So that's why it wasbackwards is I didn't think it was the
push pass. I didn't think soeither. Stone back to pass fires one
(31:55):
of the outside. He's got aman wide open for a touchdown. I
believe that's Rico's God and fish andmcdebit's up thirteen nine twenty five left to
play first quarter. Rico Scott justwent in, curled back out, had
plenty of time Stone. It wasjust pitch and catch for the touchdown too
easy for Bishop mcdebit four yard touchdownpass t Rico and lou Linda will command
(32:19):
to attempt the extra point. ForBishop mcdebit Ryan Hart, the holder kick
is up and it is good,so that makes it Fish and mcdebit fourteen
and Mifflin County nothing. Keep thingshere. The Pagolice Brothers Authentic Italian gor
Maye Sausage are proud sponsors of thetwenty twenty three Bishop mcdebit Crusaders. Their
(32:42):
homemade Italian sausage is made from anauthentic Old World family recipe that originated in
Italy, excluding free, all naturaland contains no preservatives or dies. It's
available in sweet, Traditional, superhot, or smoking hot, Lynx A
rope. Gift certificates and gift basketsare available. They're located the twenty two
to forty one patch in Church Roadand Harrisburg. Call them at seven one
(33:04):
seven seven two seven seven one nineone. Check out their website at Peglice
Brothers dot com. Art do aquick shout out here to uh my friends
down at the clinic who are doinga good job trying to get me on
my feet and walking half right.I want to thank everybody down there,
Christina, Jamie, Yale, Kelsey, Sophia, John and Bella and appreciate
(33:28):
all they're doing for us and listeningto us tonight. So bish mcdebit up
fourteen to nothing just two thirty fiveinto the game. Here's lu Linda's kick.
It's a high, short kick thatwill bounce at the twenty seven yard
line. Mefflin County gets up thereand recovers it down the field day go,
and that's number twenty one for them. That's Deacon Schaeffer with a nice
(33:50):
kick return. He does a lotfor them, nine hundred and ninety one
rushing yards on the season for them, and he returns this to the mcdebit
forty four yard line and the kicker, Melinda, had to force him out
of bounds. Really kind of interesting. They kicked the exact same sort of
the floating kick. This time itwas caught and he had to sidelines.
Mcdebit did not get down quick enoughto cover and there was nobody in that
(34:12):
outside lane. So good field positionfor Mifflin County. He can head over
a thousand yards for them. Lastyear, he's just nine yards away from
doing it and back to back seasonsand obviously tough on special teams as well.
So here come the Huskies. Theyhave a first intendant mcdebit's forty four
yard line. Two white house tothe near side, one to the far
(34:37):
einhorn back to pass. Fires wentdown the field and this one's intercepted by
Bishop mcdebit. That's Nevin Hopkins.Hopkins was going to return this forty five
fifty Hopkins down the sideline and we'llbe tripped up the thirty four yard line
and Nevin Hopkins with a huge interceptionfor Bishop mcdebit. It was they did
play action, and they had adeep post that they were trying to run
(35:00):
so well covered and QB really justwaited a little bit too long Mark to
throw it. Yeah, they balljust hung up there and allowed Nevin Hopkins
to get back and pick it up. There were literally two mcdebitt defensive players
right there and they were just kindof waiting for it like a center fielder
catches a fly ball. Another turnoverand they'll have first down and ten at
(35:24):
the thirty five yard line of MifflinCounty already up fourteen to nothing. Chase
Reagan out on the far side formcdebbitt and TreeCo Scott on the near side
still and awaits to snap. They'llhand us off the swoop. Swoops up
the middle twenty five, still rumblingtwenty and down to the seventeen yard line.
(35:47):
Gain of about eighteen for Nazier Jones, Davis out in front, Nick
Slogic out in front of Swoops.Big game on first down for Bishom mcdebit
all the way inside the twenty yardline on the first play. Crusaders already
up fourteen to nothing. On themove again here the Crusaders will go with
(36:12):
one wide receiver to each side ofthe field. It's like Swoops lines up
to the left of Stone Saunders inthat shotgun. Stone awaits a snap back
to pass fires one of the outsideHere it's bat it up in the air
and Rico Scott comes down with itfor another mcdebit touchdown. Eight seventeen left
to play here in the first quarter. It's twenty to enough in vision mcdebitt,
(36:37):
and that was excellent coverage there.I want to get that number by
Mifflin County. Is it a goodjob? He had position and wanted to
get the football, and it justkind of bounced up off his shoulders,
actually more off his chest and wentup in the air, and Rico was
there the whole time to wrestle itaway. Litlinda Ono attempt the extra point,
(36:58):
Reinhart the holder. The kick isup and it is good. So
eight seventeen left to play in thefirst quarter. It's all mcdebitt twenty one
nothing Crusaders. We will take eightbreak. You're listening to Vision mcdebit football
here on news Radio WHP five eightyand IR Radio Art. Thanks for listening
to Bishop mcdebit football. Now backto the field and welcome back to Rocker
(37:23):
Attendzee Stadium here at Bish mcdebitt HighSchool. Crusaders already up twenty one to
noth and here's the kickoff. Takenit the twenty one and the Huskies will
return this back to the thirty oneyard line. They'll give them for progress
right about there and that's where theywill set up shop. And Marty mcdebitt
off to a great start here tonight. Yeah. Mc McDuffie, Dawson in
(37:44):
on that, maybe a couple othergold jerseys and Brooks also Rolinson also in
on. Yes, you know,as I was just we're just talking here
off the air art and when Stonetakes the snap, he really is standing
there like it's a practice. Yeah, I mean literally, he can't just
(38:06):
look that way. Yeah. Sohere come the Huskies. They will drive
towards the Dairy Street end of thefield. Here, first down to ten
from their own thirty. Here's ahandoff up the middle and vision mcdebit all
over that thing in there. MauriceBarnes in there along with number thirty.
That's kept part in there to takethat tackle. Barnes and kept part.
(38:27):
They came from the linebacker position totallyjust there was no running room whatsoever.
So they did give him. Theysaid he got back to the line of
scrimmage. I think that was kindof generous. But it'll be second down
and ten from the thirty yard line, seven thirty eight left to play.
First quarter. Mcdebit up twenty onenothing. Lawler coming in on this one.
(38:52):
Three wide receivers to the near sidefor the Huskies and one to the
far like corn awaits a snap schafferin the backfield Alcorn Here comes the pressure.
Fires went quickly to the outside, tried to hit Schaeffer out here and
just had no time, just dumpedit off. Shaffer didn't even turn around
and see the ball come. No, there was just if anybody was gonna
(39:14):
get it, it would have beena mcdebit defender. They were just a
little late. But as you said, Schaeffer couldn't even get turned around.
He had to dump it. Notso much a screen. They were just
really trying to get a flare outto the side, the near side here,
but just had to get rid ofit right away. Third down and
ten, Now for the Husky offense. Mentioned the Huskies with the purple pants,
(39:38):
white jerseys with the purple numbers, and the white helmets looks like the
purple numbers on them. Huskies willcome with two wide outs to the near
side, one of the far mcdebitusing Barnes really as a defensive end.
Now a stand up linebacker Ake Cornlined up directly behind center, and he'll
hand this one off. I believeit's Schaeffer for a very short gain of
(40:01):
about three and it'll be four andseven for the Huskies and Chase Reagan going
back art. Don't be surprised, you know we're in that timing year where
coach Wector wants him to just letit roll so that he can run the
(40:23):
offense a little more. Michael McNitton to punt standing back at his eighteen
yard line at late substitution for theHuskies. As I say that, Art,
we'll catch it, take it tothe house, and disregard anything I
just said. The way this gamehas gone so far, I might think
that would happen. Here's a snap. They do get it off. It's
(40:43):
a short kick. This one willtake a roll, and it takes a
mcdebit roll back to the forty eightyard line of Mifflin County and didn't even
come anywhere near close to Chase.Chase was like twenty yards down the field.
So mcdebitt takes over first down andten about the forty nine yard line
of Mifflin County, which means, because of that backwards role, if I'm
(41:05):
not mistaken, Art, the entirefirst quarter has been played on this side
of the fifty yard line. Well, Mifflin County ran that kit, the
interception return, they had the longkickoff return. They have pretty much,
yeah, not pretty much. Theyhave played on this side of the Mifflin
County side of the fifty yard line. So it's first down in ten.
(41:29):
Mcdebit at the forty nine yard line, six eighteen left to play, first
quarter. Mcdebit's up twenty one zipCrusaders with two white outs to the far
side. Stone awaits a snap Stoneback to pass. Stone is gonna fire
one deep. He's got Chase wideopen and just overthrows him. Overthrew him
(41:49):
by maybe three yards or so.But Chase had his man easily beat.
Yeah, he did. Riggan hada good three or four yards if not
more on that Chase. Chase reallyuncourt that one. Just a thing of
beauty to watch that ball go flyingdown the fields like that. But it
just they just couldn't connect. Ifyou're Stone Saunders, those are what you
(42:12):
want to throw. If you're JeffWector, you want to establish a short
passing not that it's already not established, but you want to continue that short
passing game. You know that downthe road is what you're gonna need.
Throughout second and ten, from theforty nine yard line, two white ass
to the near side. They fakethe handoff, they dump one outside this
slogic. He's got the forty thirtyfive and powers his way down to the
(42:34):
twenty nine yard line. We're justdown in ten vision. Mcdebit gained a
twenty Yeah, pick up a twentyslogic just drifted out from his inside position
here on the line, and Stonejust lobbed it out to him. He
turned up field. He had plentyof room, plenty of help. Mcdebit
inside to thirty RCA Scott out here. He'll line up on the near side
(42:59):
with Nevin Hopkins quick and Chase Reaganout on the far side. It's like
Maurice Barnes in there now in thebackfield with Stone on first and ten at
the twenty nine, Stone awaits asnap, go hand this off the Barns.
Barnes up the middle, goes tothe left side a little bit,
gets to the twenty five, sogain a four for Bishop mcdebitt. I
(43:22):
think other than that one play insidethe five where they had to fumble,
well, actually, I guess theyruled that an incomplete pass. But this
would have been the shortest game thatthey've had here thus far in the first
quarter. Still, five minutes inthe first quarter seems kind of hard to
believe. Second and six at thetwenty five for mcdebit, two wide outs
(43:43):
to each side of the field.Barnes lines up to the right of Stone
and the shotguns Stone back to passfires went over the middle. He's got
a man there for all the ballsknocked out of the hands Number thirteen down
there as Jacob Kratzer knocked it outof the hands the receiver right in the
end zone. So it's incomplete.I think I was intended for Quick Art
(44:06):
and he had it and it wasknocked away. Good defense he play.
Yeah, it looked like quick wasgoing to come down with it. But
yeah, as you mentioned, Imean, Kratzer did a nice job of
getting in there and batting it away. And once again that's one where Stone
probably gets rid of that a secondearlier, you know. So third and
six from the twenty five for mcdebitt, they'll have two wide receivers on each
(44:31):
side of the field, one backin the backfield with Stone that swoops now
back in the game for Bishop mcdebitt, Jones Davis going in motion as Rico
Scott from the near side to thefar They dump one outside to Rico and
Rico is not able to get awayfrom the defender. That's number fifteen,
(44:52):
landing high out there, and mcdevid'llhave a fourth down and about seven coming
up. Hi did a nice job. He read that. Rico came this
way, went back to the farside in motion and little dangerous pass out
there because he had to go overthrow it over a defender and it hung
on her a little bit. Ricogot it and turned but H, I
was Aaron did a great job.So we'll call it fourth and eighth for
(45:15):
Bishop mcdebitt from the twenty seven yardline. Four to twelve left the play,
first quarter. Mcdebit's up twenty onezip three wide receivers to the near
side, one to the far forBishop mcdebitt. Stone away to snap and
now they're going to blow it dead. Now is gonna have a false start,
(45:37):
Bishop mcdebit. So I'll make itfourth down and thirteen for Bishop mcdebitt,
and the ball will come back toabout the thirty two yard line.
JJ Torres was already out there artas the lead blocker to try to open
that up for Rico to get thefirst down. But we'll go back and
come up with something else, Coachwicktor call something in here for mcdebitt.
(46:04):
And the Crusaders lineup, and nowofficial have an equipment issue with Chase Reagan
over on the far side. NowI think we're ready for play, So
we're ready to go. Three widereceivers to the near side for mcdebitt,
one to the far one back inthe backfielled with Stone on four and thirteen.
(46:25):
Staring back to pass, there comesa pressure dumps one of the outside
out here to Swoop. Swoops hasgot to twenty, still going fighting his
way inside the fifteen and I thinkhe has the first down and he does
just a Jeff Wector screen that he'sso good at. I wasn't even thinking
of that one on fourth down alreadyafter the play that they were running.
(46:49):
It was nullified by the penalty.A great call, plenty of room there
for Swoops. Good tackle to keepit from going to existance. Actually several
of the myth the kind of guyslook like they stopped that they thought he
was going down and he was dragginga tackler with him. So it's first
and ten. Mcdebit at the fifteenyard line. Two wide receivers to the
far side, chases on the nearside, one back in the backfield,
(47:12):
that's Barnes. Here's a quick passto the outside the Rico. Rico gets
away, Actually he does go downnumber four. Trevor MOUs out there makes
the tackle lot Rico. They've donea good job with covering that. Art
mcdebit has run that a lot allyear long, and obviously that coach is
doing a good job for Miffland Countyon the film. The kid's going doing
(47:32):
a good job on anticipating that, and they really covering Rico Scott as best
they can out there. Back atthe sixteen yard line, two forty left
to play in the first quarter, mcdebit up twenty one nothing, Chase will
(47:53):
go out and line up. Theywere on the far side for Bishop mcdebitt,
Rico all by himself way out hereon the near side. Stone awaits
a snap and he will hand thisoff the Barnes. Barnes off the middle,
Barnes inside the five. Barnes reachesforward and they're gonna say he's down
at the one yard line. Butagain of fifteen and a first down vision
(48:14):
mcdebitt nick slogic going at HVAC doinga great job leading Barnes down to the
one foot line. Almost a replayof the run we saw earlier that fell
just shure the goal line. Sofirst and goal, Bishop mcdebitt again,
(48:35):
chase Reagan out on the far side. We goo on the near side,
Reice Barnes in the backfield with StoneSaunders on first and goal from the one
yard line. Stone barks something outthe Rico out in the far side.
Now here's the hand Actually they fakethe hand off and fire a slant over
(48:55):
the middle and Rico's unable to comeup with it. Is uh, I
think number five in there. Henryknocked that one free. That It was
a great job defensive backfield that knockedthat out of Ricos. And as you
said, he checked out with Rico. Okay, just run the quick slant
(49:16):
and I got you. But agreat job, great defense there in Mifflin
County doing a nice job getting inthere at the last second and batting some
of these balls free. Second andgoal from the one, and here's a
handoff this time up the middle toBarnes and Barnes just walks into the end
(49:37):
zone for a Bishop mcdebit touchdown. And if a minute twenty five left to
play in the first quarter of theCrusaders are up twenty seven and nothing.
I'll go back and play. Wedo want to give Christian Henry the credit
on that defensive play, but tono avail in this case because mcdebit able
to just get in with Maurice Barnesfor the touchdown. We w into ono
(49:59):
tenth the extra point again, RyanHert theholder and the kick is up and
it is good. So that makesit BISHO mcdebit twenty eight and Mifflin County.

He's got mister Sticki's here at thestadium tonight. Here's the kickoff taken
back at the ten by Schaeffer, brings it back to the twenties outside.
He's got the thirty still going andknocked out of bounds over on the Mifflin
(51:34):
County far side at around the fortyyard line. So Deacon Schaeffer with another
nice kick return for the Huskies asthey troll twenty eight to nothing a minute
thirteen left to play here in thefirst quarter, Hey got outside real quick
(51:55):
on that ARDA mcdebit kind of overplayedit. Everybody was kind of stuck in
the middle of the field. Hashappened earlier, but this one to the
far side. Was able to getthe corner and get mifflind County up to
the forty yard line. Power socksout here as a wide receiver on the
near side for the Huskies. They'llbring a man in motion. That's number
nine, that's Kerns, and theytry and go up the middle with Schaeffer
(52:19):
and mcdebbit's not having any of it. Jame and Chase on the tackle on
that kickoff from mcdebit. No gainhere, slogic and Vinnie Brooks on the
tackle for Bishop mcdebbit. The seconddown and ten for the Huskies. Just
shy the forty yard line. Fortyfour seconds left to play in this first
(52:45):
quarter. It's been all Bishop mcdebit. Crusader's up twenty eight nothing, Huskies
have it here. I corn waitsa snap. He's got two wide receivers
on each side of the field.Like corn back. The passer comes of
pressure, thumps the screen pass outsidethe Schaeffer and Shaeffer with a nice move
forty five and tackle down at theforty five yard line of Bishop mcdebit.
(53:09):
Shaeffer Rob had a mcdebit player rightthere, right in front of him,
and he left him in his tracks. He just really just put a great
move on him, able to getit down to the forty five yard line
of Bishop mcdebit. Some positive yardageshow. That'll be the last player of
the third or first quarters. AMifflin County is gonna choose not to try
to run another play. Leon Parsonwith a tackle for Bishop mcdebbit, and
(53:31):
that will indeed end the first quarterhere at Rock Ortenzio Stadium. So after
one quarter of play here on SeniorNight at Rock Artensio Stadium, it's Bishop
mcdebit twenty eight in Mifflin County nothingand you're listening to Bishop mcdebit football here
on news radio WHP five eighty andiHeart Radio a state chance play right here
(53:54):
on news radio WHB five eighty aswe returned to Rock Rotensio Stadium here at
Bishop McDevitt High School to start thesecond quarter, here's a handoff to Deacon
Shaper tries the left side, getsabout two yards and there'll be second down
and eight for the Huskies. Switchends of the field here now is the
(54:16):
Huskies are driving towards the Union depositend of the field here Rock Rotensio Stadium,
and the Huskies break cuddle, landingHaga out here on the near side.
Two wide receivers to the far sideand back to pass his acorn.
(54:37):
Gonna air one out over on thefar sideline, and this one is almost
caught at the five yard line.Nevin Hopkins with the coverage down there,
and the ball just went over hishead a little bit. As Parker Kerns
was down there, had a shotto make a play, just unable to
come down with it. Be thirddown, then eight for the Huskies at
(55:00):
the forty three yard line, elevenand six left to play in the first
half. Mcdebit up twenty eight nothingskis come back here. We're Senior night
here Breast cancer Awareness, muff Alot of pink. Coaching staff wearing a
lot of pink here tonight for Bishon, mcdebitt and cheerleaders all dressed with pink
(55:22):
T shirts. I think I havepink socks on art. I'm not sure.
I'll check. I don't tell everybody, all right, with blue stripes,
all right? Third and eight IIcorn fires one of the outside.
He's got his man out here, that's number nine Kerns, and Kerns is
(55:43):
knocked out of bounds, just shy. Well, we'll see where they spotted.
It's gonna be short of the firstdown, but I think they'll give
him to thirty nine. So heneeds about four more. Yeah, third
and four, and there's not evena hesitation or a question here that you
would go for it. I mean, you punt, you put mcdebit even
down with their five, they're stillin scoring position. Unfortunately, so falls
(56:07):
at the thirty nine. So theHuskies will go forward on four and four,
ten and a half minutes left toplay in the first half. Mcdebit
up twenty eight. Zip Husky's breakhuddle. We'll send Bower Socks out on
the far side out there as awide out. Haig down here on the
near side. Actually, they'll gowith three wide receivers bunched up on the
(56:30):
far side. I Coorn gonna runthat direction, running for his life.
Fires one down the field and it'sbatted away. Down there by Vision mcdebit
it's number one. Sam Smalls knocksit away and the Crusaders will take over.
Sam Small's read that perfectly half asecond art quicker and that's a pick
sick. Yeah, he was fullspeed already. The actually the throw was
(56:52):
a little low so but otherwise, yeah, he was there for a pick
six. So ten oh two leftto play for TAFF. Bishop mcdebit takes
over now balls at the thirty nineyard line. Bishop mcdebit, Crusaders talking
things over here on the near sideline. All right, Actually, VISI mcdebit
(57:14):
has actually has had a chance toactually run more plays than what they have
in some previous games because they hadtwo long returns interception and a kickoff return.
They haven't had a lot of longplays. So that's given this offense
a chance to run some more plays. Two wide receivers to each side of
the field for Bishop mcdebit, stoneback to pass kind of fire one deep.
(57:35):
He's got Chase down the field, and Chase has it at the ten
and has tackled down inside the fivedown at the three yard line. The
seven fifty eight yards art on thatone. In fact, I thought Chase
had given up, that he hadslowed up, and I thought, maybe,
okay, he doesn't think Stone's gonnathrow it. Stones really laid it
out there. A burst by Chase, caught it inside the ten, as
(57:58):
you said, tackled at the two. So first down and goal, Bishop
mcdebitt, thing of beauty once again, and forty eight actually fifty nine yards
are by you, yeah, fiftynine yard passed. Crusaders come with three
white outs on the far side andone of the near Now that's Gage Ruth.
Is a chase getting a breath breatherafter that one Stone back to pass.
(58:22):
Here comes a pressure fires one overthe middle and this is incomplete.
Tried to hit John take Quick. So I really had a lot of time
and a lot of receivers out therein the pattern art and at the last
minute Stone just Johnte Quick kind ofadjusted a little bit. Stone tried to
hit him. He thrilled that ballin there, but it was just a
(58:44):
little out in front of Quick.Second down and goal from the two.
Again, three white outs to thefar side for Bishop mcdebbitt, Gage Ruth,
the lone white out on the nearside. Stone back to pass,
fires one of the outside and thisone is all right bye. Ruth looked
like it was going to be knockeddown by the defender number four out there,
(59:04):
Trevor Mouths, but somehow Ruth camedown with it. Yeah, went
right through his hands and Gage Ruthon the reception and the touchdown for Bishop
mcdebitt. So nine to eleven leftto play in the first half. It's
now mcdebit thirty four in Mifflin Countynothing and Loulinda will Mono tempt the extra
point. Linda on Ryan Heart theholder and the kick is up and it
(59:37):
is good. So mcdebit's up thirtyfive zip, nine to eleven left to
play. First half. You're anews radio WHP five eight and iHeart Radio
Tiffany Cruise sading for a repeat. This is Bishop mcdebbont football on news radio
WHB five eighty. He's done,Saunders with his third touchdown pass to the
(01:00:00):
first half, this time to GaugeRuth and Bisho. Mcdebbit's up thirty five
to nothing, nine to eleven leftto play here in the first half here
at Rock Rotenzio Stadium, here onsenior night, Arth when you look at
Dante quick Gage, Ruth quick Offreshman, Ruthus sophomore, you know,
you just wonder, you know,it looks like they're gonna be able to
(01:00:21):
just step up in there and replacethese three senior receivers. Lindis kick comes
down at the twenty four yard lineand they called for a fair catch,
as that was Christian Henry over there, I think called for the fair catch,
and that's where the Huskies will setup shop as they are now driving
towards the Union deposit end of thefield here at Rock Rotenzio Stadium. When
(01:00:45):
I talked with coach Wector Art outsideof the interview, did not mention this
about the kickoffs, So this isa surprise to me. They only really
kicked deep the one time to thenine yard line of the last kickoff before
this one, and this is asurprise. I don't know if this is
prep for later on with it justthe respect for the speed back there and
(01:01:07):
I don't want to give up thattouchdown, but I would think almost more
prep for down the road. Twowide receivers to the near side, one
of the far and they hand usoff to Shaffer Schaeffer up over the thirty
yard line to about the thirty three. He definitely should be over one thousand
yards on the season now after thatrun for the Huskies. So two years
(01:01:30):
in the road, Deacon Shaeffer onethousand yard rusher for Mifflin County. Schaeffer
definitely already really has a burst.Initial burst there. I mean he got
eight yards as if it was nothing. So that'll make it second down and
two from the thirty three yard line. Eight forty left to play. First
half. Mcdebit up thirty five nothingand the balls on the ground is Ycorn
(01:01:51):
had all sorts of trouble handing thatone off, and I think mcdebitt came
out of there with it. We'llsee what Schaeffer fell on it. Dam
haven't made a yeah like Devit initiallylooked like they thought they had recovered it,
but ref came in and said no, So it'll be third down and
four the thirty one yard line. When you're seventeen years old with a helmet
(01:02:12):
on, you automatically think you're covered. I thought I saw Shaffer just fall
right on it early, so Ididn't get too excited. Hag out here
in the near side along with Kernsand one wide receiver to the far side.
Ihorn hands this off up the middlethe Shaeffer and he is just pummeled
(01:02:35):
in the backfield for a loss.Quite honestly, Art, I don't think
he had to handle on that.As I saw him take his first step,
he looked like he had to regatherthe football in and he didn't.
He didn't get a second step atall. So the Huskies will have to
punt? Well? Is that thejust shy the thirty yard line and Chase
(01:02:57):
Reagan standing back deep at his fortyI'm making a call here, Art,
Okay McNitt on the punt again.Chase going to take it to the house.
Yes, I don't think it'll getto them. We'll see and this
one will hit it the forty sixyard line, takes a bit of a
Mifflin County roll and goes out ofbounds over the thirty seven yard line.
(01:03:22):
Twenty thirty three yard punt. You'reright, are totally kicked it away from
Chase. Should have been no chancefor a runback there. Deep Police Brothers
Authentic at Tinian Gourmet Sausage are proudsponsors of the twenty twenty three Bisho mcdebit
Crusaders. Besides their sausage, theyhave the largest selection of imported pasta in
the Central Pa area, with fortyseven cuts from three manufacturers. They also
(01:03:45):
have hard cheeses all imported from Italyand salt cheese is produced in Philadelphia.
And don't forget about their olives, all imported from Italy or Greece. They're
located at twenty two to forty onepassing Church Road in Airspurd. Call them
at seven to one seven seven twoseven seven one nine one. Check out
their website at Peglice Brothers dot com. Here come the Crusaders, first down
in ten from their thirty nine yardline as they drive towards the Dairy Street
(01:04:09):
end of the field, and itlooked like mcdebit jumped off sides. Look
like Chase might have jumped here earlyon the near side. So five yeard
penalty for vision. Mcdebit first firstdown in fifteen balls at the thirty four
seven oh three left to play firsttap mcdebit up thirty five zid. There's
(01:04:31):
like here come the Crusaders again.Chase out in the near side. This
logical going motion stone fakes a handoff, dumps in one outside here now
to his tight end on the outsideout here, that's number eighty eight for
Bishon mcdebit out here in the farside, that's Liam Fuller, Yeah,
lib forward. I think it's safeto say that we have thrown to the
(01:04:55):
tight end more this year, maybethe eight ten previous years combined. I
mean, the tight end is seeinga lot nice play there. As he
had slogic in the backfield. Hewas leading the blocking on the play action,
and then they just stump it outhere to the tight end, kind
of just flaring out. Pick upsix second and fourth the forty five yard
(01:05:16):
line, one wide out to eachside of the field for Bishop mcdebit.
Logic goes in motion. Now afalse start against Bishop mcdebit at the forty
yard line. I think start theclock again. Six fifteen left to play
(01:05:45):
first half. Mcdebit up thirty fivezip gauge ruth in there again as a
wide out for Bishop mcdebit on thenear side, Rico outside. Here's a
pass over the middle to Rico andhe has it down to the forty five
yard line. First down to ten. Bishop mcdebitt. This quick slant there
by Rico and Stone puts it righton the money first and ten Bishop mcdebit
(01:06:11):
right on the forty five yard lineof Mifflin County by point fifty left to
play. Liam Fuller checks out forBishop mcdebitt. I think Maurice Barnes is
in there for the running back positionfor mcdebitt. And I apologize Ard for
not pointing his out center, butmcdebitt using hand signals as opposed to having
(01:06:32):
Stone. Saunders come over to thesideline. Two wide outs to the far
side, one of the near formcdebitt. That's Ruth on the near side.
Stone says something to Slodgic lined upto his right, and Stone fires
went down the field. He's gota man wide open inside the twenty five
(01:06:53):
down to the twenty three. Ithink that was Nevin Hopkins. Penalty flag
comes flying in. Looks like NevinHopkins. Now all we could see was
what he did, which was pointthat it was a first down. If
he said anything, we obviously can'ttell from up here. But he pointed
that it was a first down, and the flag came up and was thrown
(01:07:16):
very emphatically about fifteen feet in theair. Officials still chatting here, see
what the call was, and itis going to be a unsportsmanlike conduct.
(01:07:36):
Bishoon mcdebitt might have said something, might have directed something towards the It certainly
wasn't showing up the defender at all. He literally, I mean, we
see that on all levels of football, where when you get a first down,
you know, unless you're not allowedto do that. We'll have to
find out. Back to mcdevil artwith the signals from the sidelines, Alex
(01:08:00):
Marcco, is you know, handsignaling into the place. Stone Saunters is
really at this spot in his careerwhere he probably could go out there and
call his own game. Probably sothe ball will come back to the thirty
eight yard line, first down andten mcdebbit five eleven left to play.
First half, Crusaders up thirty fivenothing, two wide receivers on the near
(01:08:24):
side, one of the far andBishop mcdebitt ready to play. Now Stone
awaits a snap. Stone fires wentquickly outside the Rico. Rico turns on
the moves. He's got the thirtyfive thirty town the sideline. He goes
and gets down to about the twentyyard line game of about eighteen for Bishop
(01:08:46):
mcdebit just that easy. Yeah,Tyler Druckenmiller saves the touchdown for Mifflin County
and it was just that easy onceagain, though Art Mifflin County had defenders
there. They are really keen inwhere where were Rico goes. There's white
jerseys. Rico just exploded, pastedone or two of them and then had
to sideline first and ten. Mcdebitat a twenty Crusaders will send two white
(01:09:11):
outs to the fore side. Lookslike Rawlinson is out there as a white
autprobition. Mcdebitt now into the game, roof to the near side. Here's
a handoff up the middle and MifflinCounty defends this one well is mcdebitt might
have lost to yard on that one. Travis Renninger just flew in their art,
shed his block and just got ofMaurice Barnes in the backfield and Maurice
(01:09:39):
jogs off Gingerlee on the near side. So the balls at the twenty one
yard line, second and eleven, mcdebitt four to ten left to play.
First half. Rallison and Rico Scottout on the fore side and you got
the sophomore in the freshman on thisside, arc Yep Cage Ruth and Quick.
Stone awaits a snap and fires oneto the outside. This one's the
(01:10:01):
Rico. Rico putting on the moves, hits inside the fifteen down to the
fourteen, gain of seven for Bisionmcdebbit, and we'll have third and four.
Nice shot by Druca Miller to keepRico out of the enzone. I
mean he was out there one onone and Rico tried to cut it to
the inside. Druca Miller was ableto prevent a first down and a touchdown.
(01:10:25):
So we have a third and fourfor Bishop mcdebbit. Three and a
half minutes left to play. QuickNevin Hopkins in there's a white out for
Bishop mcdebbit. Roof goes out onthe far side. Nevan's going to be
one on one over here. Artwouldn't be surprised if he just throws a
fade up here to the corner ofthe enzone. Stone waits a snap back
(01:10:47):
to pass. Now Stone's gonna runit up the middle. Stone's got to
ten and Stone takes a shot ataround the ten yard line or so.
You never want to see that nineof the high school season of thirty five
nothing. I mean, that's onewhere he's got to go down. He
got the uh got the first down. It's first and goal for mcdebit at
(01:11:09):
to ten, but uh yeah, you gotta go down there. So two
fifty seven left to play here inthe first half, mcdebit up thirty five
nothing, first down for mcdebit atthe ten yard line. Good coverage on
this side of the field are byuh nothing County on that this corner of
(01:11:31):
the end zone was where Stone waslooking as I thought he would, but
good coverage. The Stone, youknow, tucked it and ran two white
outs to each side of the fieldfor Bishop mcdebit looks like swoops in the
backfield. Stone has all night firesone to the back of the end zone
and this one's caught for a Bishopmcdebit touchdown over on the far sideline.
(01:11:53):
I think that was quick trying.Yeah, that was quick for Bishop mcdebit.
And two we see was on thatside and I thought he was going
to the closer receiver, but hejust drilled that to the back of the
end zone and quick just cradles itin for the touchdown. That ball was
(01:12:13):
laced back there art to the backof the end zone. Linda, I
know a temph the extra point.Ryan Hart, the holder and number four
for the Huskies, comes flying inoff side. That's Trevor Moules. Well
in fairness, Trevor Miles is gettingclose on each kick. He's not quitting
out there on each extra point. He is coming in there almost getting it.
That time. They might have changedthe cadence and maybe that's why he's
(01:12:38):
in so quick, and they gothim to jump off. So two twenty
one left to go in the firsthalf, McDavid up forty one to nothing,
pending the extra point here, it'sI don't think so. Mcdebit still
lined up to tempt the extra pointhere, two twenty one left to play
(01:13:01):
first taff and Ryan Hart waits asnap land On to kick this one,
and the kick is up and itis good. So that makes it.
Bishop mcdebit forty two and Mifflin Countynothing will take a break. You were
listening to Bish mcdebit ball here onnews radio WHP five eighty and iHeart radio.
(01:13:25):
Fine, thanks for listening to Bishopmcdebit football Now back to the field.
Stone Saunders with a tenur touchdown passquick has made it forty two to
nothing. Mcdeviit Marty to twenty oneleft to play first Tat We talked about
Stone and that run for the firstdown. He took a couple of brutal
hits on that one, and hebetween plays right before that or after that,
(01:13:49):
he just kind of squatted out there, you know, waiting for the
uh for the play to come inthrough. The touchdown pass came off and
he was stretching here actually sitting nowin the golf Cartlinda kicks off. The
ball's fumbled by Mifflin County. Theydo recover it though, at the around
the twenty five yard line. That'snumber five, that's Christian Henry and they'll
(01:14:12):
blow it dead there. And Sonobviously a fierce competitor, and it's just
your natural instinct to run the ballthere. But you certainly don't want your
Division one quarterback here in week nine, up thirty five zip to try and
run for the first down. No, I mean, and again you can't.
(01:14:33):
You have to try to avoid thecontact. I mean, yeah,
you're seventeen, eighteen years old. You're a kid that wants to play your
competitor, but you just have to, you know, you just got to
get down there. So here comethe Huskies, two nineteen left to play,
first and ten from the twenty fouryard line. As they drive towards
Union deposit, lightcrn rolling to thenear side, and he will just chuck
(01:14:57):
this thing out of bounds. Ashe was running for his life, got
knocked down back at the ten yardline. He had more gold in his
face there, Art than four knocks. I mean he had five gold jerseys
chasing out here to the left,to his right, I mean to the
near side. It's smart move tojust get rid of it. To second
(01:15:17):
down and ten for the Huskies, two nine left to play. First half,
DEBP Forty two nothing. Crusaders areup twenty eight nothing at the end
of the first quarter. They've addeda pair of touchdowns here in the second
quarter. Light Corn waits a snapand here's a handoff up the middle to
(01:15:40):
Schaeffer and Schaffer with a real niceimpressive run by the Huskies gets up to
the thirty two yard line. It'llbe short of the first down, but
another really nice run. Easy tosee Art why he's back to back one
thousand yard runner for Mifflin County. And he's not just flash and he can
do some pounding. He can punishit a little bit. He can and
(01:16:04):
do that slash and Dash can goaround you. Also, third and two
for the Huskies. Here's another handoffto Schaeffer, and this time Schaeffer is
not going to get the first downas about seven mcdebit tacklers are there to
stop them. Yeah, pretty hardwhen you're one on seven art, I
mean as good as he is alittle difficult there. Sec. Maurice Barnes.
(01:16:26):
Maurice Barnes was one of the firstones in there. Mcdebitt's going to
take a time out here as thoseKis will have a fourth down and two
from the thirty two yard line, and we'll keep things here. Managing work,
school, and other activities keeps youmoving. Dealing with aches, pain

(01:17:32):
have to defend coach Wector, butI know people listening are gonna say he
called a time out. Well, yes, because he wants to run a
two minute offense if he has theopportunity. Here's a handoff up the middle,
and Schaeffer is able to get thefirst down because he's able to sneak
his way through the pal They're upto the thirty five yard line, Dallas
(01:17:56):
Davenport with a tackle for Bishop mcdebittgo to nothing and the Huskies will come
with two white outs to the nearside, one to the far. Aike
Corn coming to the near sideline, fires one and this one is incomplete.
(01:18:16):
Tried to hit a hag over hereon the near sideline, so it'll be
second down and ten. Rolinson onthe coverage out there for Bishop McDevitt Huskies
(01:18:42):
with the ball second and ten atthe thirty five yard line, driving towards
the Union deposit end of the fieldhere at rock Ortenzio Stadium on Senior Night.
Three wide receivers to the near sidefor the Huskies. One of the
far Schaeffer in the backfield with Fikehorn. They give it to Shaeffer and Shaffer's
he tries to spin his way forat the most a half a yard over
(01:19:03):
towards the far sideline, and we'llhave a third down and nine for the
Huskies. Down to forty seconds leftto play here in the first half.
Mcdbit with wholesale substitutions coming in thegame. Sam Small's one of the players
(01:19:24):
acorn back to pass. Here comesa pressure and he just kind of dumps
that one off over in the farsideline and it's incomplete. So we'll have
a fourth down and nine with nineteenseconds left to play here in the first
half. Could it be surprised outof Sebastian Williams does not start the second
(01:19:45):
half at quarterback for Bishop mcdebit, and interesting, there'll be one more play
here. We'll see if mcdebitt afterthe punt, if they take a knee
or I'm sure Chase Riggan would likethis opportunity to take it to the house.
And nineteen seconds left to play inthe first half, the Huskies hunting
(01:20:09):
from their own thirty five yard line. Mcnit back deep at his twenty one,
Chase standing at his twenty eight. Here's the punt. He does get
this one off, Chase is kindof come up and catch it and he
will call for the fair catch atthe thirty eight yard line. So mcdebitt
eleven seconds left to play here inthe first half, up forty two to
(01:20:31):
nothing, and we'll see what mcdebittalects to do here with this final eleven
seconds. Stone Saunders is going totake the snap art if they're just gonna
kneel on it, it is along time in that houttel here with coach
Wector to just kneel on it.So we'll see. I would not be
at all surprised to see him takea shot they're coming with three wide receivers
(01:20:58):
on the near side here and GageRuth out on the far side. We'll
see if they do air one outcoming into the game as Reinhart. So
Reinhart will be out on the farside. So mcdebit with two wide outs
on the far side and three tothe near eleven seconds left to play in
a half, Stone will throw oneout here to Rico Scott, and Rico
(01:21:24):
just spun around out here by anumber nine. Kerns goes nowhere and the
clock will take zero. So we'reat the half here. On Senior Night
at Rocker Attends Stadium at Bishop mcdebitHigh School, it's all Bishop mcdebit for
Stader's up forty two to ven overMifflin County will take a break way for
a halftime show coming up next. You're listening to Bishop mcdebit football here on

Now let's head back to the fieldand welcome back to Rocker attends the stadium
(01:22:08):
at Bishop mcdebit High School, Artselby Marty Bowman, J. C.
Floyd Back in the news radio WHPfive eighty studios. It's all Bishop mcdebit
at a half. Crusaders scored earlyten twenty one left in the first quarter,
Maurice Barns a one yard touchdown run. Then with nine twenty five left,
after they muffed the kickoff, Bishmcdebbit would score again four yard touchdown
(01:22:30):
past de Rico Scott. Then afteranother turnover an interception, mcdebbitt would fire
another touchdown pass to Rico Scott fromStone Saunders. It was twenty one zi
at mcdebit eight to seventeen left toplay in the first quarter, and then
Maurice Barnes another one yard touchdown runminute twenty five left to play in the
first quarter, mcdebbit was up twentyeight to nothing. Second quarter, Gage
(01:22:55):
ruth of a two yard touchdown receptionfrom Stone made it thirty five nothing mcdebbit,
and then we had a ten yardtouchdown pass from Stone Saunders to John
take Quick that made it forty twoto nothing. Bishop mcdebit, and that
is the score here at the half. So we will take a break.
We'll take a look at tonight's weatherforecast from Tom Russell to the CBS twenty
(01:23:17):
one forecast, and then after thatJC will have scores for us back in

the Fleetwood Tigers leading that one fourteento thirteen. York Catholic and Fairfield,
no score there. Same with andMuhlenberg Garden Spot leading Etown seven to nothing

Western Pittsburgh. Excuse me, they'releading that one twenty eight to nothing.

(01:27:26):
This has been the mister Stickies halftimescoreboard. You've been listening to the
Bishop mcdebit halftime show, brought toyou by Tim Decker of green Spring Advisors,
a fee only advisor. Visit theirwebsite at GreenSpring Advisors dot com.
The second half is only moments away. The police back for another ring in
(01:27:53):
twenty twenty three. This is Bishopmcdbit football on news radio WHP five and
welcome back to rock Ortensie Stadium hereat bish mcdebit High School, Art selby
Marty Bowman, J. C.Floyd back in the news Radio WHP five
(01:28:15):
eighty studios. Bisho mcdebitt, justnow making their way back onto the morning
track here around the track here atbish mcdebit High School, and they'll come
back onto the field here leading fortytwo to nothing. Mifflin County's been out
here for a while. They've alreadygone through their warm up exercises and lined
up over on the far sideline. They are ready to play. So bish
(01:28:40):
mcdebit led twenty eight to nothing atthe end of the first quarter and now
forty two to nothing. You knowtheir update. The Astros lead the Rangers
five for a bottom of the ninthand the Rangers have two on with two
out. Of course, the Philliesgame just getting started. No score in
the game there with two outs inthe bottom of the first inning, and
(01:29:00):
as I mentioned, the Hershey Bearstied at one. It's Marty Wow we
have a second or two. Iknow you're a big Penn State fan.
What are you looking forward to tomorrowin the Penn State Ohio State game.
I tell you what I think itwill take. I think the two running
backs got a gain one hundred andseventy five yards, and I think the
tight ends combined have to score threetouchdowns. I think if they do that,
(01:29:23):
they can win. But this isa really good Ohigh State defense,
a good Penn State defense. TheShoe is just not a friendly place.
I know. I finally quit goingout there. I was out there three
times, and that was back whenthe I don't know if you've ever been
to the Shoe, but they've provedit. But back then, basically the
visitors end, it was like sittingon a scaffolding. That's what it was.
(01:29:46):
It was just old wooden with someyou know, some wires and some
you know holding the things up.But it was just and unfortunately we were
out there for a couple times withbad weather. But Penn State just has
not played well out there. Sofor that, I mean, I think
Ohio State deserves to be favored.Final score of the Astros did hang on
(01:30:06):
and defeat Texas three to two.So the Astros now up three games to
two as they win all three gameson the road at Texas. Honestly,
I'm seeing Ohio State in person againstNotre Dame. I honestly felt like if
Notre Dame would have executed, theyprobably win that game by two scores.
I kind of like Penn State themore on the road. I do think
they'll go out there and win outalthough in saying that, I do think
(01:30:28):
Michigan will take care of Penn Statein a couple of weeks. I don't
know that oh Penn State has thereceivers that Ohio State does as far as
the wides. Okay, and Imean, Harrison is just ridiculous, so
hard to cover. So you knowyou got a favorite that way, and
you know Awler has to play thegame of his life. He's at home
(01:30:48):
in Ohi and you know we'll see. Yeah, I definitely liked a ninty
Lions Tomar, but it's gonna bea close one. I'm gonna say twenty
four to twenty three, so you'llbe's just on the edge a big chair
for the entire game. I mean, when you go back to the Notre
Dame game and I know what aheartbreaker it was for but they just gave
up so much when that last drive, they just gave up so much.
(01:31:11):
But they had ninety Notre Dame hadtwo balls they could have been picked.
One right over the middle that wentright into the deep east hands and then
of course you just cannot allow thatpass down to the one yard line on
whatever it was. You know, they needed sixteen yards and got it down
to the one. So here,I'm sorry, I'm gonna be interested to
see what coach Wecer does here.I mean he we talked about it during
(01:31:33):
the week and you know, I'mexpecting, you know, to go deeper
into the game with the first team. However, I mean, it is
forty two to nothing. They rana lot of plays offensive plays ye in
the first half, so we'll haveto see. And I'm really interested.
I should be looking down there.Looks like Sebastian Williams is warming up.
(01:31:53):
He is, and again Stone tookthat hit and art if you can find
him on the sideline to see ifhe's there and how he looks. I
mean, Mifflin County is going toget the ball first, so we won't
know right away. I'm looking forhim. See zone is throwing at the
down to the far end. Yeah, yeah, there he is down here,
yep. And he just threw abeautiful pass. So he is warming
(01:32:16):
up. And that's another one ofthose things people say, oh you know
he's throwing. You know, withWilliams his back up and this art,
the kid has to be ready ifsomething happens to Sew, which could happen
here tonight the way he took thathit. So Williams has to throw the
football. He just has to.It's just the way it is. Yeah.
I mean, mcdebbit's trying to wina state championship and I mean in
(01:32:40):
that coach Wector has to do what'sbest for his club before anything else.
And that's that's the approach that theyhave to have. And Sebastian needs to
be able to throw some balls andmcdebit's offense needs the reps Bisho. Mcdebbitt
will kick off to start the secondhalf of forty two to nothing. Crusaders
will kick off towards the Dairy Streetand of the field. Linda on kickoff.
(01:33:01):
Two men back deep, including DeaconSchaffer over in the far side.
Shaeffer has been really impressive tonight forthe Huskies. And here's lou Linda's kick.
He does kick this one deep, but to the near side, caught
at the seventeen, brought back upto the twenty five, up over the
thirty five, and up to thethirty seven yard line, and I believe
(01:33:24):
that was Kerns on the kick returnfor the Huskies. Some will spot this
one at the thirty eight yard line. It looks like approximately Ryan Pearson,
a freshman, art on the tacklefor the kickoff return. First team one
(01:33:45):
for Bishop mcdavitt, all starters,so I expected at least a series,
if not more. Hey gad, here's a white out on the near side
for the Huskies. Two white outsin the far side. Horn. We'll
hand this one off to the nearside, and just nothing there at all.
Shaeffer tried to come to the nearsideline of Bishop mcdebit shut things down
(01:34:09):
quickly. Never do. And Hopkinsin there as well, and Vinnie Brooks
also in there, but Josiah Hardinggot into the backfield. Loss of Three'll
be second and twelve from the thirtysix yard line, So we have the
running clock here. In the secondhalf of mcdebit up forty two to nothing.
(01:34:30):
Huskies get back to the huddle. They'll have two white outs out on
the far side. Hey, gad, here's a white out on the near
side. He's covered by J.C. Crummell. And here's a handoff
to Schaeffer again, small gain upto the thirty seven yard line, maybe
(01:34:55):
a yard, and that's it.We'll have a third down and eleven for
the hust harding. Also, LeonParsons in on that tackle for the Crusader's
art and said, third down andalong. I think, other than being
inside my thirty Femulton County, Idon't punt. I want my offense to
(01:35:15):
get some work. I run onthird and fourth down, like cornback to
pass. There comes a pressure kindaair one out on the near side down
here, and the ball is paddedaway. I think that was Crumble down
here on the coverage for Bishop mcdebitCrumble with a nice job catching up to
that. Jamison Krumble on the uhbreakup for Bishop mcdebitt and Saigmiflon County is
(01:35:43):
going to choose to punt, andit is, it is fourth and twelve.
Though in a case like that, maybe Art I would have went underneath
and tried to get six or sevenand then consider it a four down situation.
So they will punt number forty eightback deep again to punt Michael McNitt
(01:36:05):
standing at his twenty three yard line. Stone does have a helmet on art,
so he will be coming out andhere's the punt. A nice punt
will bounce at the thirty yard lineand takes a good roll for the Huskies
and goes out of bounds somewhere aroundthe twenty three yard line or so it's
a forty yard punt art. Soeight fifty eight left to play in the
(01:36:30):
third quarter, mcdevid up forty twoto nothing. See, we'll make out
a forty three yard punt. Ithought it had the twenty seven, but
it's it's the twenty four Saders backonto the field here and Stone Saunders out
there for Bishop mcdebitt first team offenseCrusaders up forty two sip. They start
(01:36:57):
the clock eight forty two left toplay in the third mcdevidup four two zip
and they will hand this off toSwoop swoops up the middle, it cuts
outside forty five fifty down the sideline. He goes and knocked out of bounds
at around the forty eight yard linewhen he when he went two steps hard,
I thought he was in the endzone. It was the hole was
that big on the left side, and he followed it very well. Had
(01:37:20):
Chase Reagan downfield blocking. Unfortunately forChase there were two guys there. He
had to pick one, put theblock on one, and the other guy
was able to get swoops out ofbounds. Chase out here on the near
side as a white out, twowhite outs in the far side from mcdebit.
Two backs in the backfield. It'ssurrounding Stone. Here's a quick pass
(01:37:41):
outside the Rico Rico around the cornerforty five forty thirty five thirty and knocked
out of bounds. We'll see wherethey mark him out. Little spot him
out right at the thirty yard line, gain of eighteen in a first down
vision. Mcdebitt when that previous place, swoops running behind Land and blockin Dallas
that time, mcdebit able to getthat quick flare out to Rico, Scott
(01:38:04):
Scott able to just break the initialThere's only one guy there, and it's
been rare so far because there's beentwo or three every time Rico touches the
ball on that quick flare out,but this time he's able to get outside
and get it down to the thirtyyard line. Two white outs to the
near side for a Bishop mcdebit oneof the far and two backs in the
backfield surrounding Stone. Stone fakes thehand off. Now he's gonna dump one
(01:38:29):
to the outside and just mix upthere as he tried to dump a screen
pass out here to Jones Davis andit's incomplete and totally miss Nevin Hopkins.
Nevin Hopkins was absolutely uncovered. Hewas down there at the ten yard line
trying to get Stone's attention and theywere running a screen. So second and
(01:38:51):
ten from the thirty Chase Reagan outon the far side with the white out
out there again there's two backs ina Nevin's pointing to the benche. I
got single coverage again. Joss Stonewill hand this off to Barnes, and
Barnes as greeted rudely as as soonas he touches it. Nice tackle in
(01:39:13):
there by number sixty six, itlooks like for the Huskies, and that
is a Travis Renninger. Renningers hadseveral tackles here tonight. He's acquitted himself
well from Ifton County. It's dida nice job. So that makes it
third and thirteen for Mcdeviit back atthe thirty three yard line Gage ruth in.
There now is a whiteout for theCrusaders along with Chase over on the
(01:39:36):
far side. Three white outs tothe near side. Stone back to pass
pump fakes as time steps up.Now he's gonna come to the near sideline.
Fires one down the field and thisone is incomplete. Tried to hit
Nevin Hopkins down there and it isincomplete. Once again. Nevin Hopkins was
(01:39:59):
behind the defense. Stone was more'shere on the left side. Stone was
more concentrated on the right side.Broke the containment and came out and saw
Nevin. Tried to get it tohim once again, just a second too
late. Not anybody's fault there,It just happened. And so I'll make
it fourth down and thirteen for Bishopmcdebbit. Five sixteen left to play in
(01:40:25):
the third clock continues to run.Crusaders have two white outs to the far
side, three to the near Stoneawaits a snap Stone Fires went over the
middle and this is complete to Ruthand it's a first down, Bishop mcdebit.
(01:40:45):
Crusaders made that look easy, theyreally did. He was so nonchalant
about it. They had two wideson that side, and Gabe Ruth was
just kind of streaking down the fieldand Stone just you're having all day to
throw, very relaxed, just justkind of just released it out of his
hands, out of his hand andjust put it right in russ belly and
(01:41:10):
he's able to get the first down. Chase Reagan out on the far side
as a wide out again, twowhite outs to the near side, and
again mcdebit using two backs to surroundStone Saunders in that shotgun formation first and
ten. Bishop mcdebit still using alot of the play clock and they hand
this one off to Jones Davis onthe right side and he's tackled in the
(01:41:30):
backfield. Really he gets tough tohandle down there. For Bishop mcdebit.
No quitting that kid, Yeah,no, absolutely, no quit. You
have to admire him for that. And that was actually a just a exact
replay of the one we just sawa few moments ago when Renninger's into backfield.
(01:41:53):
As soon as the ball carrier touchesthe ball. He's putting them on
the ground. Reyes Barnes checks outfor Bishop mcdebit. Nevin Hopkins is on
the near side here for mcdebitt.Swoops to the right of Stone Saunders.
On second and fifteen. They fake, they hand off. Stone's gonna run
it. Stone will jog out ofbounds this time at around the sixteen yard
(01:42:17):
line or so. Yeah, alittle wiser, not trying to pick up
everything there. Just get out ofbounds. You got a little bit of
a game. So third down forBishop mcdebitt, three ten left to play
in the third Crusader's up forty twoto nothing. Crusaders in no particular hurry
(01:42:41):
here chase out on the far sideis the lone wide out out there for
Bishop mcdebitt. Two wide receivers onthe near side. Stone awaits a snap
and he'll hand this one off upthe middle to swoop. Swoops, fighting
his way forward, still not down. They finally body slam him down,
but uh, you'll spot him forward. So we have about a four and
(01:43:08):
three for Bishop mcdebbitt. And tothe benefit of Bishop mcdebbitt coach Wector,
this has been a lot of playson this drive for the Crusaders, the
first possession by me Flin County. They held them and mcdebit's had it since
then. And with the running clock, we're down to pushing towards two minutes
ART, So fourth and three.Mcdebit at the thirteen two ten left to
(01:43:30):
play in the third, mcdebit upforty two to nothing. Two white outs
to the near side, one ofthe far Stone awaits a snap back to
pass fires one of the outside andthis one is caught out there. I
Rico Scott dives towards the end zoneand gonna say he's down right inside the
(01:43:53):
one yard line. This is thethird time art that Crusaders have been tackled.
Rico Scott was wide open out here, he was the short man on
the pattern. Stone found him. He's able to turn it up downfield and
penalty flag out there and it's onmcdebit a person. Is that a personal
foul? Right? I think so? Yeah? So hopefully that still allows
(01:44:15):
them to have a first down. We'll see. So mcdebit's up forty two
to nothing in a minute fifty leftto play in the third. It's a
personal foul. Bishop mcdebit cost himfifteen yards. It looks like the rain
(01:44:38):
has started again. Art well downhere with some umbrellas there, yeah,
getting went. Rain's popping off ofthem, so they won't get the first
down, it looks like. Soit's still going to be fourth down and
fifteen for Bishop mcdebitt are going. So the Crusaders will go forward here with
(01:45:00):
three wide outs to the near side, one to the far fourth down and
fifteen McDavid at the twenty four.Stone awaits a snap, says something over
here on the near side too quick. Stone back to pass, rolls to
the right. Stone fires one intothe end zone and this one is intercepted
(01:45:23):
by the Huskies and they will runthis thing back to the twelve yard line.
And that was number thirteen, Ibelieve for the Huskies. That's Kratzer.
Yeah, you don't see Stone makea mistake like that. And in
that case, it had ended upsort of a scramble in the end zone
with all the receivers trying to getfree. Stone might have had and I
(01:45:46):
don't know which one it was, might have had someone shorter that he could
get the first down, But nothingwrong with that through an the end zone.
It got picked, you know, some positive for Mifflin County. Yeah,
you're just trying to make a play. I mean you're either going to
run out of bounds with it andturn the ball over right there, flip
it into the end zone and seeif something can you ca't can't run out
of bounds. It's just that.Yeah, you got to try to make
(01:46:09):
him play and he did. That'sexactly it. So first down in ten
Mifflin County from the thirteen yard lineand Nick's logic with a tackle for mcdeva
backfield. Good job there by fourof the mcdebit Crusaders cap part was in
(01:46:33):
on that also, he was outthere. I was seeing his number thirty
out there and he was right inwith the tackle. It was really four
gold shirts. So that's that.Looks like it'll be the final play.
The third quarters were down to twoseconds left and that is so we'll walk
all the way to the end ofthe other field. Mcdebit up forty two
(01:46:53):
to nothing after three quarters. Thatwas a score at halftime. So Bishop
mcdeva up forty two nothing. Ever, in Mifflin County here on senior night,
you're listening to Bish mcdebit football hereon news radio WHP five eighty and
iHeart Radio. High school football atits best. This is Bishop mcdebit football
on news radio WHP five eighty andiHeartRadio and welcome back to Rocker attends stadium
(01:47:21):
here at Bishop mcdebit High School.First play the fourth quarter. I Corn
rolls to the right, has somepressure and dumps one out of bounds and
incomplete. So we have a thirddown and thirteen for the Huskies. Eleven
thirty eight left to play in thisgame, mcdebit of thirty two to nothing.
Thank Ike, Corn did a goodjob scrambling out of that pocket,
(01:47:43):
go into the right. Only hadone receiver on that side that you know
he could get close to throwing to. He just threw it out high and
just threw it out of bounds.Receiver was well covered. So third and
thirteen from the ten yard line forthe Huskies. He's had three white outs
to the far side, one ofthe near one back in the backfield that
Schafer acorn fires went over the middleand handing out of the hands of his
(01:48:08):
receiver, still would have been shortof the first down, but would have
set up and more manageable fourth downsituation as he tried to hit Haig there
just kind of a bullet to theoutside there, and I mean he couldn't
throw the ball any better right intohis chest area, and I just didn't
(01:48:28):
bring it in. So mcni willcome on to punt again from his own
end zone. Ten thirty eight leftto play and this one and Chase Reagan
standing back at his forty five yardline. I think Nit waiting to snap.
(01:48:49):
It's a high snap and heavy pressure. He is able to get rid
of that thing somehow, and itdoes bounce into the leg of a Mifflin
County player around to thirty eight, and I'll just go head and down it
there. So that's where Bishop mcdebittwill set up shop. Ten thirteen left
to play in this one, Mersader'sup forty to nothing and mcdebbitt just with
(01:49:12):
one more regular season game left Martyas he'll take on Lower Dolphin next Friday
night. But mcdebit on it's waited. Being nine to zero here tonight and
an undefeated regular season certainly a niceaccomplishment for mcdebbit if they can finish the
job next week against Lower Dolphin.Chance to play at Hershey Park Stadium for
(01:49:34):
the Crusaders usually get to play therea couple times, but Hershey game was
moved, but they should have lowerDolphin there next week. Sebastian Williams in
there and he fires a pass outsidethe Rawlison who gets hit hard. Somehow
he hangs on to it and he'llbe tackled for a loss. But yeah,
I'm not sure either are how hewas able to hold onto it and
actually get away from the first tackle. Welter and ball. But the dB
(01:50:00):
was pretty much right there as Rawlinsonwas able to catch it. If there's
a positive art the tunnel screen orthe quick flare, however you look at
it, the positive has been fourmouthand counted. They've taken that away for
the most part from mcdebit, butjust too much too much elsewhere. Number
(01:50:21):
ten Josh Culverin is in there runningback Rawlinson out here as a wide receiver
for Bishop mcdebitt. They give itto culver up the middle and not much
there as he's tackled down. SoI have a third down and about fourteen
for Bishop mcdebit. Sebastian comes overto the near side to get the play
(01:50:47):
takes it back to the huddle here, eight forty five left to play,
and this one art senior night hereand we get a break. We're going
to acknowledge the seniors here. CrusadersHabit heading out to the far side.
Liam Cox out there as a widereceiver. Rolinson in the slot here for
(01:51:08):
the Crusaders. Sebastian back to pass, fires a nice pass to Rawlinson out
here at the thirty eight and JayRfights his way. JayR still fighting down
to the thirty three yard line, and it's a gain of ten for Bishop
mcdebitt. And that's that's when youwant to put on your college resume.
Showing a lot of strength there.Jair Ralison just refusing to go down balls
(01:51:32):
at the thirty three yard line.It will be fourth down and four for
Bishop mcdebitt. Late substitutions here forthe Huskies. Four Crusaders come out here,
Gage Ruth out on the far sideout there for mcdebitt. Well for
Bishop mcdebitt. Sebastian fires one ofthe outside and this one is incomplete as
(01:51:59):
he tried to hit Ruth out there. Even if Ruth caught it, I'm
not sure if it's a first downor not. It looked like he might
be a yarder too short, andthere was a defender right there. Unhappy
coaches art on that one in abooth next to us, not at all
please with the drop out there. It looked like he started to run.
He started to want to turn itupfield. So seven thirty six left to
(01:52:23):
play, the clock stops and Huskieswill take over. Bish mcdebit football is

(01:53:30):
quickly. Sam Small's a wide receiver, Devin Hopkins d back, wide receiver,
Chase Reagan also wide receiver, Dback, Rico Scott, wide receiver,
Josh Calver running back D back JR. Rollinson, wide receiver, D
back Liam Cox a wide receiver Dback fifteen or sixteen Crusader's going this year.
(01:53:53):
Cameron Galloway line up defensive and defensiveline, jay Len Wormsley running back,
linebacker, Ty Keppart outstanding linebacker,Nick's logic tight end D line and
we'll finish it up here in aminute. R load of talent there for
Bishop mcdebit, quarterback Fletcher Wilson isin there and fires one up for grabs
(01:54:15):
and this one is caught up hereand around the fifty yard line by number
eight Panazo and he takes a shot. The penalty flag comes flying in.
That was a huge hit on him. I mean, it was just it
was one of those things. Itwas caught, but he had his back
to where the goal line he wantedto run to was facing, and the
(01:54:40):
big hit just came in. Theflag came out right away. Jaden Chase
gets called for the hit, SoI guess they could say, you know,
it's a person of how I guessthey could say defensives receiver because in
essence he was. But that's oneof those where I need to see a
(01:55:01):
replay on that. Yeah, JadenChase was just on his job to make
sure he got to tackle any reallydidn't didn't wrap him love at all.
He just went chest to chest. It's not like he took a shot at
the head or anything. Seven minutesleft to play, the snap goes over
the quarterbacks head. He is ableto get it all still on the ground
and I think mcdebitt came up withit. We'll see if they did.
(01:55:25):
And Bishop mcdebitt has recovered the fumble, Marty. Yeah, dude, we'll
pick up that number as he comesacross here. Art Barnes is on that.
Hey, Wilson, the ball wasa high snap, but he was
able to come up with it thefirst time, and then he ran a
couple of yards with it, fumbledit again. Yeah, check that,
(01:55:45):
Art my Erriage, Jalen Jaden Carnes. So Bishop mcdebitt's offense back onto the
field, six fifty four left toplay. Crusaders first down and ten from
their forty five yard line. Theynow drive towards the Union deposit end of
the field. Crusaders with two whiteouts to the near side, one of
(01:56:09):
the far and here's the handoff tothe outside to Romayne. And Romayne gets
up to the forty seven yard line. But there is laundry in the backfield.
Yeah, but Avery Romayne, anothersophomore. Art really shown some explosive
(01:56:32):
speed around this near sigh. We'retalking about the seniors, Marty, I
think we got to ty kephart Nick'slogic as a senior. Gerard du Linda,
John Salustie, Josiah Harding, DallasDavenport, Owen Robel Drew Eisman,
(01:56:53):
Christian McClinton, and I believe thatis it as far as seniors go for
Bishop mcdebitt, a lot of talent. It's very talented teenior class for Bishop
mcdebitt. Unfortunately for John Selucie,he's been hurt the last two years.
Two white outs to the far side, one to the near for Bishop mcdebitt
(01:57:14):
and Sebastian Williams awaits to snap andhe will hand this one off to a
number twenty six remain again remain witha very impressive run up over the forty
five up to the forty seven yardnine gain of twelve for Bishop mcdebit and
really was nicely done. And aflag down again and again the penalties against
(01:57:41):
Bishop mcdebit, so they will bringthis one back to about the thirty yard
line. It looks like where thespot at five forty nine left the play
in this one. Mcdebit up tonothing over in Mifflin County. Mifflin County
(01:58:04):
will drop to four and five backswith a run in a second art there
up on the Phillies one o onthe third. Mifflin County will go to
Redland next week to finish their regularseason. Sebastian's going to run it himself.
And Sebastian a nice run up themiddle, up to the thirty seven
(01:58:29):
yard line. He wanted to comeout here to the near side art,
but just too many white jerseys around. He tucked it and just ran.
There was enough running room there.A good move on his part. And
I'll say the same thing I saidabout Stone. I just don't know that
you want your your backup quarterback, totally understand instinctively, Let's put it this
way. Instinctively, it was agood play. Yeah, didn't have the
(01:58:51):
receivers, they were covered, andhe just had a gap there to get
in and two wide receivers to thefar side. Here's a handoff the Culver
cover on the left side and anice run by Culover up the forty six
yard line. So gain of abouteight for Bishop mcdebit. Yeah, able
(01:59:11):
to get it back to a thirdand ten, four and a half minutes
left to play in this one.Debit jumped out to the lead early in
this game. It was twenty oneto nothing in the blink of a nine
and it's just been all mcdebit sincethen. Coach Marcco sort of running the
offense here for Bishop mcdebit calling theplays here in the second half, balls
(01:59:36):
up the forty five yard line.Third and ten for mcdebit. Three white
outs to the near side, oneto the far. Sebastian back to pass,
fires a nice pass to the outside. This is complete the roof and
roof to the forty eight yard line. So gain of about seven or eight
or have be fourth down for Bishamcdebit. Sebastian has a really smooth delivery.
(01:59:58):
Art mcdebit certainly high on him,and he's gonna, you know,
if things stay the way they are, he's going to play under Stone Saunders
this year and next year and thenyou know, hopefully ready to inherit the
quarterback job. Yeah you great kid, great kid. We got a chance
to meet him in very nice familyas well. Three wide receivers to the
(02:00:21):
near side, one to the faron fourth down and four for Bish mcdebits
so bashed and fires one over themiddle and this is complete to Reinhart,
I believe for the first down formcdebit. They blow it dead. Reinehart
actually never went down, but theydo blow it dead. But he'll be
first down, Bish mcdebit, Iwould safe to say Williams had a little
bit on that art, Yeah yeah, get good arm strength and a very
(02:00:45):
accurate passer. Mersaders line up herefirst and ten at the forty four yard
line, under three minutes left toplay. Cox and Ryan Hart out on
the far side for Bishop mcdebitt, one wide receiver on the near side.
Sebastian awaits the snap and they'll handthis one off up the middle to Culver.
Culver takes it into the secondary insidethe twenty five down to the twenty
(02:01:11):
four gain a twenty first down visionmcdebitt. Good to see the senior art
get these carries in his last game, all right. I was joking actually
with Sebastian. So I was donewith the interview with coach Wector, and
Sebastian was right there in the hall, and I said, I think he
said he's using you too much. He's got to cut back on. Sebastian
(02:01:35):
fakes the handoff, fires one quicklyoutside the Rhyinhart who is unable to catch
it, and it'll be second downand ten. Vision mcdebit. Clock continues
to run where two minutes left inthis one with mcdebit of forty two to
nothing checking out as Jack Dawson formcdebitt Crusaders Braycuddle hears are down to a
(02:01:58):
minute fifty left to play. RyanHart and Cox again out on the far
side for the Crusaders. Sebastian willfire one to the outside. Out there
to his tight end at outside thereis Liam Fuller. Fuller spins around the
corner, goes out of bounds ataround the seventeen yard line. It looks
(02:02:23):
like nice pitch and catch Fuller justdrift it out there and Sebastian put it
right on the numbers for him andturned it up and picked up seven.
So it's third and three for Bishopmcdebit. It appears see if the Crusaders
can get this in the end zonebefore this one's done. Minute eight left
to play. Two white outs tothe near side, one to the far.
(02:02:45):
Sebastian, we'll hand this off toCalver and Calver does everything he can
to get free, but taking downright around the line of scrimmage no gain.
Fifty two seconds left to play inthis one. Sebasti should hurrying over
to get to play from Alex Marsco. He wants to get one more In
forty two seconds left, Brian Hartwill check out for Bishop mcdebitt Crusaders,
(02:03:15):
two white outs to the fore side, one of the near Sebastian will hand
this off up the middle to Culver. Culvery's got the five and gets down
to the four, and I'm suremcdebit will probably just let the clock tick
out. And here's right down tofifteen seconds left. Would have been nice
for Culver to get in, andI just had one more man to beat,
(02:03:41):
and now the Crusaders players on thefield wanted to go for it.
Look like Jaden Ero at here asa wide receiver in the near side,
So that'll be at the clock tickzero, Bishop mcdebitt, and to win
column the night forty two to nothing. Ever, in Mifflin County, the
Crusaders go to nine to zero inthe season Mifflin County four and five.
To take a break, we'll beback with tonight's postgame show. You're listening

Stadium here at Bisher mcdebitt Highchool, where the Crusaders have defeated Mifflin County tonight
forty two to nothing. Quick scoringrecap here for you. Barnes would score
from one yard out way back inthe first quarter with ten twenty one left
to play in the first to putmcdevid up seven zip. Saders would get
a turnover immediately on the kickoff andwould finish it up with a four yard
touchdown pass from Stone to Rico.It was fourteen zip mcdebit two thirty five
(02:05:09):
into the game. Minute eight later, the Crusaders would score again after an
interception, another touchdown pass from Stoneto Rico. It was twenty one ZIP
Bishop mcdebit, and then Barnes witha one yard touchdown run a minute twenty
