Cincinig under center has one wide out on each side
of the field, but they keep things tight. Now Sinsinig
will hand this one off up the middle and again
mcdevit defends it well. This time they get about two

and also some help from the sophomore defensive ends to
Ron Dennis, who had a really good game last week

that man in motion and they will run this one
up the middle and spinning up the middle for about

And again that combination of Tron Dennis and RJ. Duffy
in the middle of that pile. But this is soilanco.
This is what they want to do. If they're picking
up four yards on first down, they are right on time.
They can keep doing this. They can control the ball.

They went white out to each side of the field.
They did bring a man in motion and then kind
of stopped. Now again they will pitch this when in
the backfield, and this time mcdeba gets in there and
makes a stop for a loss. It'll be third down
and long for the gold Mules.

And that was number one a Kielan Smith coming up
there from his strong safety spot who's playing closer to
the line of course against this offense, almost like another linebacker.
And Akilan read that and hit the pitch man and
mcdebit's first tackle for loss.

This evening, so third down in about seven. It looks
like from here for the Gold Mules offense, since the
nig under center is where mcdebitt wants to have him,
third and long, Sin Sinnig barks out some orders to
all his teammates, goes under center now and they will
hand this one off up the middle, and another first

down for the Gold Mules all the way into mcdebit's
territory up to the forty nine yard line.

That was the full back Garcia, their main man, and
you saw his power right there. It didn't look like
a huge hole, but he ran through there with authority.
And when you're relying on your defensive backs to come
up and make a tackle on a full back, you
know you're not winning the battle.

There six twenty left to play first quarter, mcdebitt and
Solanko tied at seven, and the Gold Mules come up
to the line of scrimmage here again, once more sensitive
under center. He does have one white out on the
far side. Burgos goes in motion, Censinig's gonna fire one

they worked on, you know, not jumping off course watching

that and that costs you five yards and puts them
in a second and five, which again is right where
they want to be, right on, right on time with
this offense.

Since it in under center, Burgos lines up to the
left out here as well with Kutch, Burgos goes in motion.
Now will run this one actually since and it kept
it himself, takes it up the middle. He's gonna be
close to the first down, a lot of pushing and shoving.

And one thing we've seen here in the first quarter.
You know, sens an egg very strong runner as a quarterback.
You know a lot of option quarterbacks are used to quick, fast,
you know, guys that kind of can make you miss.
But he's he takes the first hit and each time
he's he's gained more yards after contact, and several times

he's gained big yards after contact.

And they were running this one up the middle and
mcdebit gets in there and makes a big stop. Now
penalty flag comes flying in way after the play. So
mcdebit got in there and made the stop, knocked him

from him. I mean a lot of times there are
big holes. But even if there's not, if there's just
a little bit of an opening what should be for
most running backs a two yard gain, Swoops is going
to turn it into a six yard gain like he
did right there.

forty three yard touchdown run by Chris Burgos. They had
to lead. Mcdeviitt. I think it took one play later

or two plays later for the seventy eight yard touchdown
pass from Sebastian Williams to John take Quick caught him down.
The seaman and John Tay had some good blocking down
the field and behink Holden Jr. Was one of the
receivers and mcdeviitt would go in from seven to eight
yards out to tie this game at seven. Another long
drive put together by the Golden Mules some costly penalties

(01:23:30):
by Bishop mcdebitt, and finally Chris Burgos would take it
in from twenty one yards out to put the Golden
Mules up fourteen to seven. At that point, Crusaders would
answer back with another quick score. Is LaRue Junior a
forty seven yard run would tie the game at fourteen.
Mcdebitt would get a turnover and would go down the

(01:23:50):
field and look like they're gonna win for a touchdown.
A holding call would set them back. They would have
to settle for an eight and Grella forty yard field goal.
Crusaders were up seventeen. Crusaders finally got a big stop,
got the ball back again, came down the field, got
it to the two, were penalized and tried to throw
it for a touchdown. It was incomplete. Gold Mules got

it back. They would come down the field. Mcdeviitt's defense
would get the stop and then LaRue Junior would score
from about fourteen yards out. Was decked as he was
several yards into the end zone. After the play was over,
somehow they called penalties that nullified each other, but mcdeviitt

as they tried the long field goal, there by aiden

five E championship game twenty four to fourteen and a half.
We're retired at fourteen after one and I'm mcdebit with
ten points in the second quarter to go up twenty
four were fourteen and rob a really interesting first half mcdebit.

(01:27:05):
It took them all out to adjust, I think defensively,
but they really started adjusting there in the second quarter.

Speaker 1 (01:27:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:27:12):
I mean, like we said, early on those first three
possessions or so, we were pretty rough, you know, adjusting
to it. And then you know the strip which I
again I wish I could give someone credit. I wasn't
sure which crusader actually stripped the ball. I saw Rein
hard in there, but I know Campbell Miltch definitely made
the recovery that really seemed to turn things around, because

(01:27:35):
since then the next series you had a three and
out with Jakai Logan with a big tackle for loss,
and that allowed mcdebit to get really get some equilibrium.
Then the series after that they did since and it
did break the one run and then the two big
penalties on mcdebit but that's when Patrick Wright, I think,

(01:27:56):
really changed the whole first half. On a second and five,
he sniffed out that quick throat to Burgos and the
slot shedded the blocker and hit him for a loss.
And then on third down, same thing, he he shed
the block and he brought down Burgos for another loss.
So that was another big series. And then you had
the interception by Crummell, so that that fumble, the strip

(01:28:20):
of Johnny Garcia and the recovery by Campbell Miltch was
really the turning point. It's pretty obvious mcdebit's offense has
been humming. I mean unofficially, you know my quick quick
addition here during timeouts mcdebitt in the first half three
hundred and forty two yards. Unofficially, Sebastian Williams I had

seven for thirteen for two to eleven. John Tay Quick
with about one hundred and fifty yards receiving. I had
him at one forty nine. Five different players have caught
balls from Williams rushing Jerom LaRue Jr. Four carries seventy yards,
two touchdown ounce the zier, Jens Davis eleven for fifty nine,
so mcdeviitt uh like I said, three hundred and forty

(01:29:06):
two yards in the first half, I had them with
close to one hundred yards and penalties I had I
had ninety five yards. So Lanco on the other hand,
again obviously a lot of rushing yardage one hundred and
eighty nine yards on the ground in the first half,
twenty five carries for twenty five carries for one eighty

(01:29:31):
nine huge, but two for five passing for eleven yards
in an interception, So that's been decisive. And again we
can't say enough about you know, Jakai Logan starting to
make his presence felt. Tron Dennis R. J. Duffy had
really good halves, Patrick Wright, Jamison Crumble with the I
N T. He also had a nice pass breakup that

he got flagged on. We're not able to see a replay,
but Crumble had a real strong half as well.

Speaker 2 (01:30:00):
When you're playing a team like this, the best medicine
is to keep scoring and stay ahead of them, so
that possession and I know we always talk about it
every week, that first possession of the second half will
be huge. Mcdebit can go down and go up a
seventeen points and take control, it'll really put a lot
of pressure on that Selanka offense.

Speaker 4 (01:30:21):
Yeah, I mean, I was just about to say, but
if you beat me to the punch art, you don't
want to you know, you don't want to exaggerate, but
I feel like, you know, obviously, the first drive of
any third quarter and a ten point game is crucial.
But with the styles of these two football teams, if
mcdebitt would be able to go down and put a

(01:30:42):
touchdown on the board, potentially make the point and go
up seventeen, a three score lead against a triple option
team would be massive. So you know, they have the
opportunity to go do that. Soelanco they don't necessarily need
to get a quick stop. I think if they stay
within two scores, they'll be able to keep running this

(01:31:02):
offense and churning. But I do think that at some
point in this football game, if Soelanka is gonna hang
around into the fourth quarter, they're gonna need to make
a big play in the passing game. We've talked about
it over the years so many times. Mcdebit is not
a team you're just gonna be running the football. And
I think the first half has really illustrated that as

(01:31:23):
well as anything to run for one hundred and eighty
nine yards in one half the way, Soelanko did and
still be down by ten points. They're gonna have to
get some stuff done through the air.

Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
You can see they're uncomfortable as they did. Try that
one deep ball in the mcdebit territory that was picked
off by the crusaders and so that's where you want
to put Selanka. You want to try and force them
to pass it, and it didn't go so well for

one thing this vision mcdebit team can do. They get
run sweeps the whole way down the field if they

what makes you know the mcdebit team in the last
few years so lethal as they can. They can obviously
everybody knows they can throw it, but they developed such
a lethal running game here the last two years, and

his balance, Zach Brown kind of pulled him along and

we've called his name on two big touchdown runs and
he makes a potentially I don't want to say game
changing play yet, but but really a huge play because
as we talked about mcdebbit, looked like they were going
to go in for a three score leagu which would
have been a huge problem.

Tremendous, tremendous athleticism on that play to go up and
get that in the back of the end zone.

and the Golden Mules will pick up about six or
seven on this one.

Yeah, Burgos broke a kiel in Smith's tackle and was
able to get upfield before to Ron Dennis the defensive
end brought him down. But a nice first down run
to get this drive started.

So a great drive from mcdebitt. They just can't finish
it off. Second and two from the twenty eight Gold
Mules go left to right from the home side of
things here at Warwick High School, cincineg under center, and
they will run this one to the far side and
Debit shuts it down and I'm mcdebit.

Zach Brown getting hit after the play, Garcia searched forward.
Jakai Logan had him in a bear hug, and Garcia
showed his strength by just keeping the lakes churning and

Yeah, that was Garcia again and Jakai Logan to Ron
Dennis and R. J. Duffy names that were calling quite
a lot. All three of them were in on that play,
that three yard game for Garcia.

in motion, They pitch it to him and he is
tackling in a backfield back to the twenty seven yard line.

Guess who Patrick Wright, number twenty one, his fourth tackle
for loss tonight. What a game he's having, What a
postseason he's having.

Really, that'll go back to the twenty eight yard line
and it'll be third down and long for the gold Mules.
Obviously a huge player. Another opportunity for mcdevid's defense to
get off the field. Five eighteen left to play in
the third mcdevid of twenty four to fourteen Crusaders can

pick up their offense here with a stop Sencinnent under center.
Burgos goes in motion. Censinnik's pass over the middle in
a diving attempt and I think that ball hit the ground.

Yeah, they did roll it in complete. It was number
four Eric Cook who tried to go low for that.
But truthfully, even if he catches it and you're looking
at about a fourth and four in your own territory,
I'm not sure they would have they would have gone
for that at this stage, still just two scores down.

Ish standing back at his thirty four yard line. Again,
you gotta watch for the fake punt here. Brown awaits
a snap and now penalty flag, and that one's going
to be against the Golden Mules.

A legal substitution. We saw one on mcdavitt earlier. Now
we see one on Solanco.

So Ish will come up a few steps to his
forty yard line. Brown will stand back at his nine
and await the snap, and it's a high snap, but
he does get off a line drive kick that Ish
catches it at the thirty nine, tries to put a move,

cuts outside and we'll be spun down from behind at
the forty one yard line. So good special teams coverage
by the Golden Mules on that one.

But a tremendous job by Wesley Barr at number forty.

Great field position over mcdebit to begin the drive here Now,
with four point fifty two left to play in the third,

Well can kind of repeat what we said here to
start the half. I mean, it just feels like if
mcdebit's able to get a three score lead, and especially
now when we're only five minutes left in the third quarter.
I think that's huge trouble for Solanko. But I do
expect the Crusaders to mix the run and pass, and.

They do run this one of the outside. It swoops
and swoops. Tackled down at the forty three yard line.
Nice tackle out there. I have but number seventeen, Game

Yeah, if you just joined us, I mean Gabe four
and came into tonight with one hundred and thirty eight
tackles to lead the gold Mules. They have several guys
with gaudy numbers. Bard had eighty five coming in. Khalie
Hines the linebacker, had eighty five stops coming in. Bryce Cox,
the defensive end who we called out earlier, he's he

fires went over the middle and this is complete to

And I believe that was Gage Ruth on the reception,

of like slipping through his fingers. But he gathered himself
and turned up field. And I'll tell you what, Gage
Ruth is a clutch player. We saw that in last

I loo click, he was bent over and he just
kind of snapped back and he almost brooke it. But
he does pick up a big first down for mcdebit
at the forty two yard line. Under four minutes left
to play in the third quarter. Crusaders up twenty four

Liam Fuller goes in motion. They'll run this one up
the middle and coming to the outside was LaRue just

couldn't get away from the defender in their number seven.
I believe that's Anderson Miller on the tackle for other

So Lanko's defense, as we as we knew coming in,
super aggressive, flying downhill, gang tackling, just pretty much what
you'd expect when you looked at their numbers coming in,
and they've been up, been up for this challenge all night.

Sebastian has that brown going motion. The Crusaders will run
this one up the middle and again a nice stop
as they spin LaRue down.

Wait, now, this is what I was alluding to earlier
about you kind of have to decide how you're gonna
call the game. That's very similar to a play earlier
that mcdeviac got called on. Two or three white jerseys
on them. Okay, that's fine, those guys were already involved

recap this game here for you tonight. Way back in
the first quarter, Chris Burgos with a forty three year
touchdown run put the Mules up seven to nothing. At
that point, mcdebbitt would hindserback on Moose immediately touchdown pass
from Sebastian Walliam said John take quick seventy eight yards

(02:42:01):
to tie the game at seven. A long penalty field
drive against mcdebitt would be finally capitalized on a twenty
one yard touchdown run by Burgos to put the Golden
Middle was up fourteen to seven. Mcdebitt would answer back
quickly a minute and a half later LaRue Junior forty seven
yard run. It was tied at fourteen after one Aiden

Grella a forty yard field goal that was a big
kick put mcdebit up seventeen fourteen. In the second quarter,
and the Rue would score from about fourteen yards out
with two fifty eight left and half. Mcdebitt went to
the locker room up twenty four to fourteen. Crusaders defense
took control. There was no scoring in the third and
then Rhys Barnes junior with two touchdown runs in the

I'm gonna split it. I can't do anything else. There
was too many guys that just had huge games here tonight.
One of them's got to be Patrick Wright. I mean
four tackles for loss, all of them solo, and they
had to have big plays on defense, and he really

stemmed the tie with those efforts. Team made the four
tackles for loss. But I also have to chip in
and give some love to John tay Quick one hundred
and seventy yards receiving some big plays really opened up
this defense tonight with his big playability after the catch.

This is definitely a tough one here tonight because this
was a team win. I'm going to what we'll split
it as well, but I'm going to say the entire
mcdebit defense as one of them. And this was a
really tough offense to stop gold Mules prolific offense scoring
a lot of points, and that mcdebit defense, it just
adjusted after they gave up fourteen points there in the

first quarter. They just shut the door on the Golden
Mules and kind of gave up a meaningless touchdow down
here late in the game. But the mcdebit defense just
dominant again when they needed to be, and they made
the adjustments that they had to. And offensively, let's throw
it in there, that mcdebit offensive line tonight. They were
able to give Sebastian time to get the ball down

the field to his receivers, and so we'll throw that
in there. We'll give it to the entire mcdevit defense
and the mcdevit offensive line tonight. That might be a
cop out, but well, no one's getting paid any money
for this. So those are the game day ment health
players of the game. So Rob mcdebit wins here tonight,
thirty eight to twenty. Coach Jeff Wector, I mean, you

really know Coach Wector is three hundred win What do
you think is going on in his mind right now?

Well, I know he's obviously happy, and you know he
will he will downplay it. And you know, coach is
always tremendous about giving credit to everybody else. That's just
who he is. You know, he wasn't going to make
this week about him at all. This is about the
district title and one step closer to a state title.

But three hundred victories is an amazing thing. I mean,
he's only the twenty second coach in Pennsylvania history to
do that. You know, they haven't had a losing season
at mcdebit in like twenty five years.

That's crazy.

I mean so you know, he's got seventeen seasons of
ten wins or more. You know, he's now fourteen and
two in district championship games. Obviously, he's won won two
state titles. He's played for six. He's already in the
Hall of Fame. I don't know if if our listeners

realized that he was inducted into the Pennsylvania State Football
Coaches Association Hall of Fame in twenty twenty three that spring.
So he's already a Hall of Famer. And now he's
got the three hundred wins to boot, you know, a
select company twenty two people ever, and I'm just thrilled
for him. It's just an absolute thrill to be a

(02:48:03):
part of this football program and see what he does
with these young men. And you know, one thing we
should also say, those wins are great, but he's got
probably more wins than three hundred when you talk about
all the young men that he sent to college, and
not just the Division IE kids, the Division two kids,
the Division three kids, you know, kids that he's helped

(02:48:25):
get opportunities that maybe would not have gotten an opportunity otherwise,
just kind of changing lives. He's probably as proud of
that as anything else.

Speaker 2 (02:48:35):
Yeah, this's Bishop mcdeviit team. I mean, we're looking at
three state championships in four years. And I mean they
have the tools to finish the job. Obviously, it's going
to take a great effort against two solid football teams
moving forward. But and you look at the offense right now.
The offensive line is playing well. It's a dominating running game.
They have several receivers who are making big plays, and

(02:48:55):
Sebastian Williams is playing the best football he has all
year long. You have a dominating defense that even when
they were kind of throwing a change up here tonight
against this triple offense of of of the Golden Mules,
mcdevin adjusted and dominated eventually. So I mean you have
all the parts, special teams, the special teams coverage has

(02:49:15):
been great all year, and you have a fantastic kicker
and Aiden Grella. So I mean the pieces are there
have to finish this job.

Speaker 4 (02:49:22):
Yeah, I mean they can certainly do it. I would
not I would not put anything past this group. I
think I just have a suspicion that, you know, the
media will have the whippy old team favored next weekend,
and I don't think it'll bother this group one bit.

You know a lot of people favored Pine Richland last
year going into that game, So, you know, cliches, we're
gonna We're gonna sound like we're spouting cliches, but that
game is gonna come down to, you know, who controls
the line of scrimmage, who makes the fewest mistakes. You know,
can't turn the got to cut down on the penalties.

(02:50:02):
I mean, obviously some of them are bad calls, but
you have to control what you can control. You can't
have pre snat penalties. You cannot, you know, have too
many men on the field, you know, those kind of things.
You got to control the controllabulls. And I'll tell you what,
Aiden Grella is a huge weapon in a game like that,
and Ish Palmer's a huge weapon in a game like that.

(02:50:22):
So I like mcdevitch's chances.

Yeah. I mean, when the score was tied at fourteen,
they're coming out and kicking a field goal from forty
yards out to put mcdebitt ahead for the first time
all night. That was huge. And they just continue to
play great on special teams. You just don't see the
other team do anything, even if they kick off short
and you're stunned if they run it back pass to twenty.
So mcdebitt peaking at the right time, just getting everything

done the right way, and mcdebitt on their way to
the state Final four with a game next week against
Pine Richland or Peter Township probably on Friday night. We're
