Speaker 1 (00:00):
Marty bowl on alongside coach Jeff Lecker, Bishop mc tivit
High school coach. This is a fifth game, halfway there.
Hopefully we're only a third of the way there. The
amount of games, you know, but it goes quick. What
are you looking for your two and two? We'll talk
about some of the games, but and then we'll talk
about tonight against Carlisle. What are you looking for at

(00:23):
the midpoint of the regular season here?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Uh, you know, just continue to get better on both
sides of the ball, special teams, you know, cutting down
especially this a lot of our penalties have been on
special teams, you know, cutting those down, you know, getting
the passing game going a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
You know, Sebastian's getting better, but he's got to get
some better at some things. Receivers got to get better
some things. Offensive line got blocked a little better. But
you know, just getting getting more consistent and getting healthy.
We're banged up. I mean, I've never had this the angles,
I think in fifteen years, much less in two weeks.

(01:03):
So you know, we're we're trying to, you know, get healthy,
you know, still get better and keep on taking it
one game at a time.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Kay, logan getting a ton of snaps both sides of
the ball. How's how's that working out for? And you know,
tell us a little bit about how he's holding up
under it.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Well, you know there's times where you know, on offense,
he's a little tired, a little tired. On defense. You know,
we started two weeks ago trying to you know, sub
him a little bit. You know, we're you know, one
of our back up defensive tacticles, Spencer Musky's down with
an injury. So you know, I have a young you know,

(01:45):
Anthony Long is doing a great job with the defensive line,
but he's got to sub sub ch Kai a little
bit more. And what we we've done is the last
two games, we've given a series here or there to know,
a cob and a guard to get him some But
you know, we got to do a little bit better
job of coaching staff to you know, substitute him a

(02:06):
little bit more. So he's not playing every dawn on
both sides of the ball.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Seenciret class last week, two guys wanted to just talk
about I thought. I thought Maurice Barnes both sides of
the ball, he just looked like he had a quicker
step for some reason last Friday night.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, you know, he's worked hard in the off season
getting quicker and more explosive, and it definitely did show
Friday night. I also thought he had a very.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Good game, Yeah, carrying the ball and then defensively, seemed
like he was blitzing at the right time. He was
getting involved all the time.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, he definitely was. Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
So the other one, Sebastian Williams, you mentioned QB the
one pick that he threw wrong, read bad throw, combination
of both, or throw it too late or I thought
he just threw it late. But I'm not the coach.
You are.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
No, the receiver code came back for the ball, but
you know, I'm not going to put that on him.
It's from the quarterback. You know, he's been told numerous
times when you throw the ball out in the flat,
you know, put him on the outside. He left it inside.
But the other thing is mechanically he has to get better.

(03:12):
You know, he's his ball sometimes just kind of die.
And that ball was inside and died. Had he put
put a little more, you know, he knows what the
issue is, and I know what the issue is. You know,
and even before that the a couple of plays before

(03:34):
that the postbutag should have been a touchdout. He was
late and left that too short. So we worked on
that all all week and hopefully tonight he'll be a
little bit about that. But the pick was definitely on
him and he knows it. Touchdown to Issh Palmer. I
thought Sebastian did a nice job reading out of the pocket.
Then once defender was drawn up his wide open he did.

(03:57):
But as you know we discussed on film, his read
on the front side was very good because we did
have a guy who opened, you know, he didn't read
the right defender. Sometimes Stum did this sometimes too, is
where you know, pre snap they kind of make up
their mind, especially what it looks like in practice, but
it doesn't always happen that way. You've got to read

(04:18):
your defender who we wanted him to read, and he
didnned and he got kind of fooled. But we had
a guy out on the flat because you know, as
I've told him, Pin Richland, you know, or Peters Township
that you face out in the Western Pa Roman Catholic.
You're not getting that, You're not getting you know, it's
kind of it's kind of like Fool's gold. It looked good.

(04:39):
It was good play, good play by him, good play
by Itch. But you know I prefer to see in
his progression as a quarterback is make the right read
and throw the ball, not let it up to kind
of you know, I call it kind of playground ball.
You know, if you watch any of the game last night,
you saw a lot of play round ball where you know,

(05:01):
they're just running around and all of a sudden, somebody
pops open. You know that when you play good teams,
that's not gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
So I think it was Rob wanted to know a
little bit the offensive line. How are you feeling about
them right now? I thought, again, Cedarcliff, you know they
were opening up some holes and they would seemed to
be dominating them. They did a good job.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
There are a few mistakes, but you know, pass blocking
was good, run blocking was good. A guy that I'm
very very pleased with his first year starter as Aida
mctish doing a very good job and run blocking and
pass blocking. Andre Maine is getting better, and so the offensive.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Line played well defensive side of the ball. I talked
to him about the timing and the blitz and everything.
What did you see from from the defensive side.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I mean, they did a lot of good things, but
they did things that that need to get better. Or
you know, we're we're pre snap, we're tipping off our
blitz is a little bit too much defensively, you know,
and really like how we're playing, you know, trips man
with the with the middle guy playing press. We went
off of that, but you know we we didn't get

(06:18):
enough of being physical pressing outside receiver on the second touchdown.
Other than that, I thought the defense played pretty well.
I mean they gave us some things. I mean, you know,
at one point they'd eight, they went wildcamp had to
eat offensive linement and and you know that makes a
lot of extra gaps. But I thought all in all,

(06:38):
they play pretty well.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
So Carlisle tonight coming in as usual. McDavid's a big favorite.
But it's got to be played out in the field.
What do you what do you see from that?

Speaker 2 (06:49):
You know, we they've got some talent, they're they're inexperienced,
there's not they have a small team. You know, they
don't have numbers. You know, we've just got to come
out and play and and you know, again I want
to see us get better and not I mean win
the game and look sloppy. So you know, that's that's

(07:11):
our goal this week, especially offensively. You know, they give
you a lot of different looks, you know, so you
may see us call a little bit on the line
of scrimmage. We'll we'll see. But uh, defensively, I expect
to do very well also so you know, hopefully come
out with a win.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Once again, as you say a lot, it's not about Carlisle,
It's about Bishop mcdavitt getting better and the individual guys
that you're pointing things out to. You want to see
that exactly appreciate it. Coach, Thanks and thanks a lot.
