Battle Of Atlanta

General Sherman is on his March to the Sea during the American Civil War and the city of Atlanta is in his way.  Total warfare is waged.

War is hell. We'll discuss as we took a bite
out of history with ingles markets. In May of eighteen
sixty four, General William to come to Sherman was given
the task of capturing Atlanta by General U. S. Grant.
The city was a stronghold for the Confederacy during the
Civil War, and cutting the South off from the city
would also cut them off from the much needed supplies.
Many battles were fought on the outskirts of Atlanta as
Sherman and his sixty thousand Union Man maneuver to take

the city, including the famous Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, which
was actually a Union loss. But on September first, eighteen
sixty four, Sherman and his men finally took the city
and Confederate General John B. Hood ordered his men to retreat.
Sherman famously said war is hell and enacted a total
war in Atlanta, burning anything useful to the Confederate army,
including munition factories, mills, rail yards, and more. By November,

the city was almost entirely burnt rubbled. When Sherman continued
to Savannah in his march to the Sea, leaving even
more total destruction in his path. Atlanta quickly rebuilt after
the war, becoming the temporary capital of Georgia, and was
officially named the capital in eighteen seventy seven. This has
