The Story of Billy Beer

How about using the popularity of the United States President to sell Beer?  Someone tried it...kinda.

A presidential beer kind of we'll discuss as we took
a bite out of history with Ingles Markets. Jimmy Carter
was a thirty ninth President of the United States, serving
from nineteen seventy seven to nineteen eighty one. President Carter
had a brother named Billy, who never pursued politics, but
definitely enjoyed pursuing the spotlight, known as a cut up
in the press and always touting his self proclaimed hill
Billy from Georgia's status. He had a toy truck named

after him and even had a small part of the
TV series about female truckers. In September of nineteen seventy seven,
Billy Carter announced his newest venture, Billy Beer. It was
a partnership with Fall City Brewing Company, hoping Billy's name
and relationship to the President would help beer sales. It
was first offered in President Carter and Billy's home state
of Georgia, and within two months was released nationwide. Billy
told the press, who knows, maybe I'll be the Colonel

Sanders of beer. The can boasted the saying the personal
approval of one of America's all time beer drinkers, Billy
Carter The Billy brand beer only lasted a little over
a year, and in nineteen seventy nine Billy Carter went
to rehab. This has been a bite out of history
