Speaker 5 (08:41):
Genesis Chapter four, there we'll begin reading with verse Let's
go ahead and start with verse one. Adam knew Eve
his wife, and she conceived a bearicane, and said, I
have gotten a man from the Lord. And she again
bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep,

(09:03):
to what Cain was a tiller of the ground. And
in process of time it came to pass that Cain
brought of the fruit of the ground, an offering unto
the Lord and Abel. He also brought of the first
things of his flock, and of the fat thereof.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
And the Lord had respect and.

Speaker 6 (09:22):
To Abel and to his offering.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
But what happened in verse five other to Cain and
to his offering, he had not respect.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
And Cain was very rot.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
And his countenance fell. Cain was mad. Think about it, Hey,
my brother here, he's the keeper of the sheep. He
brought the best. Think about it. He brought this beautiful,
precious lamb. I'm bringing vegetables, you know. And God had
respect and to Abel. But than the king what it said,

(10:01):
I didn't have respect. He had no respect. So imagine
imagine how you would feel. You know, I have three dollars.
You know, you don't think there's some anger there. Sometimes
if one of.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Them gets a treat and the other one does it,
there's some anger there. You know, she got a coffee
and I didn't. It's not fair, It's not fair. I'm
sure we all have experienced. How many people have experienced
anger with a sibling in her life? You know, is
anybody gonna admit to it?

Speaker 2 (10:36):
No? You know I did.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
You know I thought with my brothers all the time.
I was mad many times, many times I was mad. Well, Caine,
he is mad, you know, he's upset.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Notice this verse six, The Lord said in the cane,
why art thou raw? You know? Why are you mad?

Speaker 6 (11:01):
Why are you mad? King?

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Why is thy countenance falling? If thou doest well, shalt
thou not be accepted?

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Notice this isn't that sweet? That's precious right there?

Speaker 1 (11:17):
You know?

Speaker 2 (11:18):
God said, look, why are you mad? Why are you mad?
If you do well? No, if you do well, King,
you're going to be accepted. You're accepted, You're accepted, your loved.
And if thou doest not well, notice sin lie at

(11:41):
the door. Uh oh and untrue?

Speaker 5 (11:45):
These shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
Verse and caing talk with Abel his brother. And it
came to pass when they were in the field that
Cain rolls up against Able his.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Brother and slew him and slew him. Why happened? Cain
let his anger cause him to sin. Kin can't control
that anger, like God could write, God has control over

(12:26):
that anger. Man, it's a lot harder, lot harder. And
Cain became so to think about that. He became so angry.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Even after God talked to him and he reminded him, King, if.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
You do good, you're accepted your love. But can can
handle that? Cain went out and he killed his brother,
killed his brother. This is a situation where his anger
got the best of him and caused him to sin.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
Ephesians, chapter four, verse twenty six. Paul there speaking to
the church of Ephesus. He said, be ye angry, notice.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
This, and sin not.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Let not the sun go down upon your wrath. Be
ye angry, want and sin not. So God said, hey,
I understand, sometimes you're going to get mad. Sometimes you
will get mad, You will be angry, and you will
be upset. But what he say, sin not. Sining not. Now,

(13:50):
let me give you an example.

Speaker 9 (13:53):
May give you an example of when we let our
anger cause us to sin, it's time to get up
to go to school in the morning.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Your alarm cloth goes off, and we don't get up
out of bed. Right, So what happens? Our parents start
to yell, hey, are you what happens? Our anger starts

(14:27):
to build, right, anger starts to build up. All right,
I'm coming, I'm coming. You know. Not only does the
child start to become angry, the parent does as well.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
Right, and hear our angers starts to build up like
air in this blood. Then we run down and we hurry,
and we get dressed, and we put on socks that
don't match shirts inside out.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
We are kideous. And we run down and you know
what we want for breakfast? We want donuts? And your
parents said, you are having oatmeal. Guess what? Anger? Our
anger starts to build up? Right, the anger is blowing

(15:21):
up that balloon parent as well, not only the child,
the parent. Now the parent is fuming as well, because
why because our kid is making a slave. Our kid
is trying to be brad about what they're having for breakfast.
We can't have donuts every day I did growing up, right, No, no, no,

(15:47):
you could tell a lot.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
I had a lot of eggs and sausage and gravy
and biscuits.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Not during the week, though not every day. Mom would
have probably fit. She done a lot of cooking, but
not gravying biscuits every day was a Saturday treat.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
You know.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Then we start to school. We get out and guess what.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
Now we're behind all the school buses. You know, we're
behind all the traffic. And what's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
We're going to be like, we're going to be a
party more anger, right, both child in parent, child in parent.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
We walk in the door and the first thing, what
happens this person that doesn't like us, Well, you got
your shirt.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
On inside out. Look at Jojo?

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Everybody look at Jojo. You know, did you even take
a shower last night?

Speaker 2 (16:50):
You stink? What happens?

Speaker 10 (16:53):
Oh, we want to punch Jojo in the face, don't we?
We want to punch We're like, ah, more anger, what happens?
We let that anger build up, don't we? That anger
builds up?

Speaker 2 (17:13):
That anger is like, oh, we're gonna explode.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
The parent as well.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
And the parent goes and the parent gets some sweets
because you know why, it makes me want to eat candy.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
You know, my kids upset me, and now it causes
me to want treats, you know. So now add that
the parent is angry and the child is angry.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
And they go through the whole day. You know why
they don't take it to God.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
When we become upset and we become angry about something,
we need to realize what God's What did God say?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
I'm your comfort, I'm your comfort, I'm your comfort. But
what happens? We just let that anger build up, anger
build up. By the end of the day, it's time
to go home. Right, we get home, We walk in

(18:15):
the front door. What happens? What happens? Get up to
your room, they clean it. What happens? The anger now
has caused us to sin. Right, that anger.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
Has caused us to turn our back on God and
his teachings. The child will begin to disrespect their parent.
What did God teach you about that? Their parent will
begin to treat their child as if there's something other
than their.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Child, you know. And it builds and builds. And then
when dad gets home, what happens? Now, Mom and Dad
they're mad at each other. Right, all because of anger,
All because of anger. If we don't look to God

(19:23):
for our answers. When we become angry and upset, it
will treat us as king. It will lead us to
do and say things that God's not going to be
pleased with. Right when Paul is speaking to emphasis there

(19:45):
and he said, you know what, it's all right to
be angry. But what he says, and sin not, sin
not Proverbs Chap fourteen. Proverbs fourteen and twenty nine. Turnover

(20:12):
and read with me. Whoever he that is slow to
wrath is of great understanding. But he hat he that

(20:34):
is hasty of spirit exalt as folly. So what does
God teach? God teaches slow to anger? Now how can
we deal with our anger? First of all, we need
to develop a long fuse, you know, like.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
God is long.

Speaker 5 (20:53):
Suffering, So as a man or woman, as a person,
we need to develop a long fuse. Now, how many
of us play I did is a little boy, My
kids at them.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
I played with firecrackers when I was a little boy. Now,
let me tell you what.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
We didn't have a lot of money, so we had
very few firecrackers. We weren't that you know, that brat
that got the whole case of packs, you know, and
he was sending off you know, the whole pack at
a time. You know, we had to take all the
lards apart so we would have you know, we got
thirty two firecrackers out of our one pack.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
But the problem with that, what is it?

Speaker 2 (21:36):
There's just a tiny fuse on each little firecracker. And
when you like that, suckers.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Here, you better throw it really fast, right if you're
throwing them.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Not that I encouraged that. You're not supposed to hold
them in your hand, But I have had firecrackers go
off in my fingers brothers and sisters, and I would
talk that my hand was going to fall off, and
it hurt, and it thrived, you know, so bad. And
I was so jealous of those people that had those big.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
Packs, you know, because all they would do is take
the report, pull out the long fus like that, and
they can sit there and hold it and look at
it for a while. In throw the whole pack, Papa,
And I'm here, pow, you know, and I've got those

(22:32):
short fuses go off in my fingers many times.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Well as Christians, as Christians, we need to have that
long fuse. We never had that long fuse. God said
their in Proverbs, he said, slow to anger is better.
Slow to anger is better. Remember they're in Acts chapter

(22:58):
seventeen of verse thirty. And the times of this ignorance.
Notice God winked at. Notice this, and the times of
this ignorance God winked at.

Speaker 11 (23:12):
So when all this sin was happening, you know God
was went, aye, you know, a little wink. You know
we can we can let die. We let it go
a little while longer. But now what did God say?

Speaker 2 (23:25):
God was patient, he had that long fuse. But now
was it say? But now he commanded all men everywhere
to wh repent. What does repent mean? Change? Change what

(23:48):
you're doing, Change the way you're living for the better,
not for the worse. That's not repentance. Don't go back
to what you're doing, but change. God used to win cat.
But now you know what God says, Now it's time
for you to repent.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
Long fuse. How do we deal with their anger? With
the long fuse? Proverbs Chapter four, verse four.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Be angry and do not sin. Ponder in your own
hearts on your beds, want and be silent. Be silent.
A lot of times, brothers and sisters, with people, you know,
they upset us. They cause us to be angry, especially

(24:40):
our own families. Right, our own family, Your own family
will upset you more than other people strangers.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
You ever noticed that, you ever noticed that sometimes it's
a lot easier for us to be mad at our
family than it is someone else that treats us so
bad and so mean.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
But yet our family, it's a lot easier for us
to be upset and angry. With God said to be
angry and sin not, be angry and sin not Matthew,
Chapter seven. Matthew Chapter seven, verse three. Whenever we become

(25:26):
angry with someone, and immediately what do we start doing.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
We start to yeah, and we start to complain. We
start to let that person know what they've done.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
To upset us.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Matthew Chapter seven, Verse one, beginning, judge not that ye
be not judged, For with what judgment ye judge, ye
shall be judged, And with what measures ye meet, it
shall be measured to you.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Again, And why you hold us down the malt that
is in thy brother's eye, but canter is not the
being that is in thine own eye. So before you
become upset and.

Speaker 12 (26:09):
You anger at someone, you need to look back at yourself,
look at yourself, look inward before we look outward, right.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Look at yourself? Are you perfect? Are you a perfect person?
What it says? You've got a being in your eye
and you're trying to point out a moat in your
brother's eye.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
The last thing we'll look at here before we close out.
God says it's all right to be anger or angry brother,
but he says to get over it. Get over it.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
You notice their uh Paul in the Church of Ephesus.
What did he say? He said, don't let the son
go down on your wraths? Right, don't let the son
go down on your wrath again A Matthew Chapter five,
verse twenty three and twenty four.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the order, and
there remembers that thy brother hath aught against thee, leave
there thy gift before the order, and go thy way.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
First be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and
offer thy gift. What will we talk?

Speaker 13 (27:48):
You know, if you have if you have anger with someone,
and you have an issue with someone, God said, to
clear that up before you come to me, Before you
come to me, you work out that you work that out.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Then come back to me, He said, Then come to me.
That applies in both our Christian life and our family life.
Work out that anger. Work it out. Don't let that
anger get to us to where we commit sin. Brothers

(28:29):
and sister stay away from people that have anger issues.
You ever heard the same Misery loves company. It's true.
It's true. I've experienced that through my life and I'm
sure if you have it, you will. You know, misery

(28:50):
loves company. They want you to follow after them. And
if you are around people that all they are as
complainers and all they do is become a set and
angry about everything. They'll cause you to do the same thing.
They will cause you to become that person as well.

(29:10):
All you will do is complain, and all you will
do is become upset about everything. You know what I
went through the drive to yesterday at McDonald's with Morgan. Now,
let me tell you this, and anything makes you upset
is when you go to a drive through and they
get it wrong right, And I know every one of

(29:33):
us have probably done it. You know, you get it
and it's like they forgot my mannaise. You know what
I didn't get my younger.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
You know

Speaker 6 (29:48):
It's right, m
