Caous s s so s s.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Let's see them put him first.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
So once again, whatever we put before God, if we
put anything before him that is not pleasing in his sight.
So once again, whosoever shall save his life shall lose it,
and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall
find it.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
He will provide all things whatsoever we need. For what
is it profited if.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
A man shall gain the whole world and lose his
own soul? And what shall a man give an exchange
for his soul? So we know Jesus once again has
to find. A man is worth more than the sparrows,
A man is worth more than the sheep, A man
is worth more than the combined wealth of the world.
But we know what man is worth more. But what
(04:11):
is the exact worth of a soul?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
You know what it is.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Turn if you would to Romans five versus eight through ten.
The exact value of one soul is the blood sacrifice
of Jesus Christ. He is the son of God. His
soul or his blood sacrifice made full atonement, that is grace.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Grace is infinite.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
But the sacrifice Jesus Christ may on that cross is
the exact value of our soul Romans five, verses eight
through ten.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
But God commandeth his love towards us.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
That and while we were sinners, Christ died for us
much more than being justified by his blood. That's full
payment for our sins. We shall be saved from a
wrath through him. For if though we were enemies, we
were reconciled to God by the death of his son,
much more being reconciled. We shall be saved by His life,
(05:12):
not by works.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
We're not saved our works.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
We're saved by grace less mention bos. For God sind
his very son, that's the only payment.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Blood.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Sacrifice of his own beloved son would be the exact
value of a soul. John three and verse sixteen. For
God so loved the world that he gave his only
begotten son, that whosoever believed that him should not perish,
but happened our lasting life. He sent the very best
he had. Now beloved, we can become a new creature,
(05:44):
no longer living for ourselves or the things of this world.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
But now we live for Christ.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
We live for His Church, We live for the increase
of his kingdom, and to serve him day and night eternally.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
We read in the Book of Revelation. We were talking about.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
That last night, And we're not just going to be
sitting around doing nothing. If we do make it to heaven,
we're going to be working for him, continually, worshiping him
and serving him day and night forever. Not that there's
any night in heaven, but in a figure of sense,
forever and ever and ever we are before the throne
of God.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
We are now a new.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Creature because of that blood sacrifice. Second Printing's five and
verse seventeen. If any man be in Christ, he is
a new creature. All things are passed away. Behold all
things or become new. Now our life becomes a living sacrifice.
We are bringing glory to Christ. Romans twelve, verses one
(06:42):
three two Paul telling the church here the Romans here,
he says, I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies
of God, that he presents your bodies a living sacrifice
wholly acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And
be ye not conformed to this world. A Christian is
(07:05):
not part of this world. You don't talk like the
rest of the world. You don't dress like the rest
of the world, you don't act like the rest of
the world.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
You are a Christian. And Jesus also said that a
light that is on a hill cannot be hid.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Let your life shine that others will see your good
works and glorify your Father in our in heaven. And
it's not Scot's light, it's not Willard's life, it's not
feels like.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
It's the light of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And we as Christians need to reflect that light, and
we give glory to God. In the Book of Revelation,
chapter one, it says that they cast their crowns. The
saints were given crowns, and they cast their crowns before
the throat of God. Because we don't want the glory.
It goes back to God. We give glory to him,
but be not conformed to this world.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
So here's the question.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
We have studied the value of the soul. We have
finally found the exact value of the soul. But the
question is where to where do we redeem that value.
Let's say, for example, and everybody likes the gift cards,
and let's say, like I get a longing a gift
card to Walmart, and he decides he's going to.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Take that card to Kymar.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
And he walks in Kmart and has a Walmart card,
and they say, you can't redeem that value in Kmart
with a Walmart card. There's only one place you can
redeem the value of the soul, and that's in the
Lord's trench. How many people are trying to redeem their
value somewhere else out in the world, chasing all the sin,
(08:40):
the three types of sin, you know, the pride of life,
the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh.
And they're out. They become a servant of sin. They're
following all these simple ways.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
You know.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
The thing about sin, it is perhaps one of the
shortest words in the English language, but it has the
longest sentence of all.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
It's called eternity.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
However, send will result in each separation from God. The
only place we can redeem the value the soul is
by obeying the planet of salvation, becoming a member of
Christ church, the church Romans sixteen, verse sixteen, greet one another.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
With a holy kiss.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
The churches of Christ salute you spoken of so casually
many times.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
It is so important to God.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
It's work on earth, directed by God himself and Jesus
Christ on his right hand. God's plan from before the
world was framed was to build an institution for which
his only son would die, shedding innocent blood, the institution
of the Lord's Kingdom.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
The Church of Christ.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Church means called out God's own Called by his word,
obedient lovers of God, pure hearts that would truly seek
after God.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
They would accept and obey the call.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Humble souls seeking only to serve God in accordance with
his will, to fulfill his purpose and not their purpose.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
The most important purpose.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
And undertaking in their lives, and worth more than all
the riches of the world, the saving of souls, of
their souls and the souls of oath. The Church of
Christ Beloved is also the bride of Christ. When Jesus
comes again, He's coming for his Church with the mighty Angels.
The dead in Christ shall rise, and those of their
(10:29):
lives remain will meet him in the air. He rejoices
over her triumphs, he grieves for her losses. He protects,
nurtures and guides her with his words and his divine providence.
He has gone to prepare mansions for his Kingdom the Church.
He waits expectantly until the final trump, when he will
(10:51):
go out of his precious bride in his arms and
carry her safely home. Beloved of the world has nothing
to offer.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
These people that sin.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
That Jesus has everything to offer in his church.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
It is the Church of Christ.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
The Lord's Church is referred to as the Church of
Christ and Romans sixteen and verse sixteen, because it was
built by Christ, and he.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Called it his own. What did he tell Peter? He said,
who do you say I am?
Speaker 2 (11:17):
And Peter said, thou art the Christ, the son of
the Living God. And what did he say? He said,
blessed art that of Simon Barjona. For flesh and blad
hath not revealed this under the But my Father, who
are in heaven, And I will upon this rock, this rock,
the foundation Jesus Christ, I will build my church. And
(11:37):
the gates of help shall not prevailed against it. Whatsoever
shall be bound on earth, shall be bound in heaven.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Whatsoever shall be loosened on there shall be loose in heaven.
But it is the Church of Christ.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
So when Jesus said, upon this rock, I will build
my church.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Matthew sixteen and verse sixteen.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
We know that Jesus would give himself for that precious church.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
He Phisis five twenty five.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
He purchased the church with his own blood, Acts twenty
and verse twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Jesus is the head.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Over all things to the church. The Church is his body.
It's not this beautiful building here. It's not this beautiful
building and all the ground here. It's we are the church, individuals,
and we are Liveliess knows how are we lively because
we're full of the Holy Spirit. We're full of Jesus Christ.
So therefore we are we have Jesus in us. The
(12:30):
Church is one body of physicians, war and versus war.
The world says, it doesn't matter what church you go to.
It doesn't matter what matters to Christ, because he said
only but one Church, one Lord.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
One faith, one baptism. According to the world, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
What gospel that you follow, But according to the Lord,
it matters.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
What if Paul say to the.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Galatians there he says that you know that if I
or any other an angel from heaven preached in other
gospel once to you which I preach, let him be
a curse to love against everything. So Jesus gave the
great commission, go you the world and preach a gospel
of every preacher. Hey I believe with him is baptized,
shall be said the Lord added daily to the church.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
We don't join a church like.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
We're joining a health club or some kind of an organization.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
We're added to the church. The Lord adds us to
the church after we are baptized.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
But once again, when we look at the value of
a soul, we cannot redeem the value of a soul
anyone where else than in the Lord's Church. And once
we've become a member of the Kingdom, then we are
under the grace of God. We can now become a
new creature. Our life becomes a living sacrifice. Because we
(13:46):
know that judgment is coming to us. All we must
appear before the judgment seed of Christ. We all have
to answer for everything that we've done, everything that we've said,
and even everything that we've been ever thought in our life.
We all have an appointment with dead one Corinthians five
and verse ten. For we must all appear before the
(14:10):
judgment of Seed of Christ, that everyone may receive the
things done in his body according to what he had done,
whether it be good, or whether it be bad. Galatian Sis,
verses seven through eighty, be not deceived. God is not mocked.
For whatsoever a man soeth, that shall he also read.
(14:30):
For he that sew it to his flesh will the
flesh re corruption. But he that sew it to the
spirit shall of the spirit reap everlasting life. Ecclesiastics twelve
and verse fourteen says, for God shall bring every word
into judgment, and every secret thing, whether it be good,
(14:50):
whether it be beloved. There's a day of judgment coming.
All of the atheists that have denied that there is
a God. They will stand before the judge of seed
pri all of the agnostics that say, well, maybe there
is a God, maybe there is a well.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Of those, she'll know that there's a God. When Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Comes in the clouds, and it doesn't say he comes
with angels, does it? He comes with the light of angels,
and he comes with power, and he comes with flaming
eyes of judgment. He will come as a judge against king.
The great day of judgment has come. Revelation twenty, verse twelve.
And I saw the dead, small and great. No matter
(15:26):
who you are, no matter how important you are. No
matter how big you are, how small you are, you
will stand before Christ and the great day of judgments.
Mean and Lawnie were talking about last night.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
You can't take it back.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
You can't hire some lawyer, you can't find some excuse, and.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Everything will be known.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
And if you have not even obeyed the first principles
the plan of salvation, then there is no way Jesus
will say, I never knew you. You know so Revelation
twenty and verse twelve. I saw the dead, small and
great stand before God, and their books were opened, and
another book was open, which is the Book of Life,
the Lamb's Book of life, which we're atted when we
(16:07):
obey the plan of salvation. And the dead were judged
out of these things which were written in the books according.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
To their works.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
So beloved, we need to work out our salvation with
fear and trembling. Boy, the world and their false doctrines.
They say, oh once, Saint Domas say, there's not no
way you can lose salvation. But you sure can, You know,
you sure can't lose that. So we need to work
out our salvation with fear and tribling. The Bible says,
for if if they're righteous, what scarcely be safe? Where
(16:37):
shall they God be in center of fear. I'm scared
to death of.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
The fear of God. So we must give him all
the reverence.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
So in the next couple of minutes here and we
will conclude, but really quickly here what will one give
an exchange for his soul? What would we give and
exchange for his soul? Just as we discuss that if
you had a gift card to Kmart, you can't go
in Walmart, and you can't go to Kmart if you're
(17:04):
in Walmart, if you have a gift card, you can
only redeem the value of a soul in the Lord's
Church by obeying the planet of salvation.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
But here's another question.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
We live in a day and age where animal security
is such a big thing, and a lot of people
have the fear of identity theft. If somebody can get
your name, your address, your so's a security number, and
they can take all everything you own in a few seconds,
isn't that what sin does? Sin does the same thing spiritusly.
(17:35):
Sin will take everything that we have. And if we
do not repent of that, and if we stay in
that sinful situation, we will spend eternity separated from God.
Have you ever thought about that? What is the penalty
of sin?
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Sin is? The wages of sin.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Is dead Romans three and verse twenty three. We read,
for all have sin and comes the glory of God.
Roman six and verse twenty three. He tells us what
are the wages of death? According to the world that
can't wait to find new sins, it's exciting to them.
It's like a big adventure. Every day they're thinking some
new way of sin. But according to the Bible, sin
(18:17):
results in death, and that is spiritual death believed.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
If you die in that situation Roman six and verse
twenty three, for.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
The wages of sin is death, eternal separation from God,
the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
The Bible says there will be wailing, gnashing of teeth.
The worm dieth not eternally separated from God. Roman six
and verse twenty three. The wages of sin is death.
If you are a servant of sin and you continue
(18:45):
in that simple situation, you will die eternally separated from God,
and there's no going back.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
There's no going back. But the gift of God is.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord, disciple of sin.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
We read in James one and verse fifteen.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
For when lust have conceived, it bringeth for sin, and
when sin is finished, it bringeth forth death.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
The loss of the soul is such a side situation.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
So what will one give in exchange for one soul?
Many people will choose the path of sin, the desire
for earthly riches and fame one Timothy six and verse ten.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
For the level of.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Money is the root of all evil, which some men coveteth,
after which they have err from the faith and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Rich people are not happy, and it's not wrong to
have money.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
We all need to provide for our families and stuff,
but it's just stuff. We put God first, seeking first
the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be
added unto you. And we need to be content with
what we have, because if we have a lot and
that's fine, or if we have a little one, that's fine.
But put God first. The pleasures of sin. Some people
(20:03):
are looking for excitement. They're always looking for a new
type of sin, and it's thrilling to them. It's exciting,
But this is separation from God and God detests in sin,
will not enter into heaven James won Versus fourteen through fifteen.
But every man is tempted when he has drawn away
of his own lust and enticed.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Then when lust have.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Conceived, it bringeth for sin, and when sin is finished,
it bringing forth death. Another thing that people will give
in exchange for their soul is convenient false doctors Colossis two,
in verse eight. Beware lest any man spoil you through
philosophy and vain deceit, and after the traditions of men,
(20:47):
after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ
beloved all of us that are in a teaching capacity,
and even the church. We can only support the teachers
that have all the truth. What did Jesus say Matthew
Chapter twenty eight, verse nineteen in the Great Commission?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
He actually said two things here.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
First of all, he said to go and to preach
the Gospel to every creature. But he also said, teaching
them all things.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Whatsoever I've commanded.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Unto you, there's a lot of creatures in the world
today that will preach the planet of salvation.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Hearing believe in Jesus Christ is the son of.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
God, repenting of sins, making that great confession, just I
believe Jesus Christ and the Son God and being baptized.
But they stop there, Beloved, we need to preach Christian
living because the Gospel I heard. Joe Fox said once,
I could preach the Gospel and convert every person on
the planet earth. But if I don't preach Christian living,
(21:46):
have I really done anything?
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Matthew twenty eight and verse nineteen, Go Go, Go, you therefore,
and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father, Son and the hole they goes, teaching them
to observe all things.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
So wherever I've commanded you, and lo, I am with
you always, even to the end of the world. What
if Paul tell Timothy, he said, preach the word, Preach
the word. Don't be preaching better relationships, don't be preaching
become a better person in your community. Don't be preaching entertainment.
Preach the Word of God. Preach the gospel. You know,
if we have to draw people out of the world
(22:22):
into the church by bingo games and church kitchens and
all these activities, then people just want to be entertained.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
But the only way we can draw.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
People is the precious Word of God, the gospel, and
if they're not satisfied with just hearing the gospel, there's
no hope for him.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Them preach the word. What did he tell Timothy?
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Be instant in season and out of season? What does
that mean? He says, you preach it when they like it,
and you preach it when they don't like it. Because
if you're there just teaching to the people having itchingeers
and just everybody's going to have in it. And there's
these false teachers now that fill entire football stagues.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
And they said bring.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Your money, you know, don't break fifty dollars, or you
won't be saying bring one hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
You'll be saying you know, that's what they say. And
people just fall for Oh, there's just all these people,
you know. But you know what, if they need.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
To preach the gospel, and like we've discussed this morning,
people need to study their Bibles and see these are
false teachers and they're misleading millions of people. But he
told Timothy, preach the word be instant in season at us,
and you preach it when they like it, you preach
it when they don't like it. Reprove, rebuke, exhorb with
all long suffering and doctrine, because we knew that there
(23:39):
would be a great falling away Second Timothy four and
verse three. For the time will come when they will
not endure sound doctrine. But after their own lust shall
we heap to themselves teachers having engineers. And he also
told Timothy to make a full proof of ministry. Also
in Acts twenty, and we're going to have to conclude,
I'm going way too long here and verse twenty Bacts
(24:02):
twenty and twenty. Paul was summarizing this was the end
of his third journey, and he was reporting to the
elders at Ephesus on his labors in the viduor of
preaching the Gospel of Christ and encouraging the churches. But
what did Paul tell him Acts twenty, Verse twenty He says,
(24:23):
and how I kept nothing that was profitable unto you,
but have showed you and taught.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
You publicly and from house to house.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
So we still preach not only behind the pulpit, but
also house to house. We share the Gospel of Christ.
Verse twenty one. Testify to the Jews and also to
the Greeks. That's all people. We don't pick and choose
who we're going to teach the truth to. If anyone
is willing to hear the word of God, we need
to take the time to study with him. Testify to
(24:53):
the Jews and also the Greek repent us towards God
and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Continuing on here down.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
In verse twenty eight, that's twenty eight and verse twenty
eight he says, wherefore I take you record this day
that I am pure from the blood of all men.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
What does Paul mean here?
Speaker 2 (25:14):
If he had not preached all the truth, he would
have been guilty of the blood of all men. So
if we hold back truth that the world needs to hear,
we will be just as guilty as they are today
of judgment. We need to let people know what the
Bible says.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
So verse twenty seven before, I have not shun.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
To declarify to you all of the counsel of God.
And the final point here not using opportunities that God
has given you. We know on the story of the
talents God has given us all opportunities.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Will we use those opportunities.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
For the increase of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ In
the Church of Christ. And how about one war here
that we give in exchange for our soul, not grow
as a Christian.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
We need to grow.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Every day, every day, you know, every day. We remember
a brother Collins about a lesson once and I heard
him say it was a wonderful point. He says, when
you get up in the morning, you live for God,
you do his purpose. And if you don't have any
time for yourself at the end of the day, so
be it. You do the Lord's work. You put him first.
We need to grow second Peter one versus five year eleven.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
And we will conclude on this verse here.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
And besides this giving all diligence. Add to your faith, virtue,
to your virtue, knowledge and to knowledge, temperance into temperance,
patience and patience, guidliness into godliness, really kindness, and to
really kindness charity.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
So once again we need to add.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
So the whole point of discermon we establish the value
of a soul, what you are worth. More, we established
that your soul was equal to the value of the
blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. But we also covered what
will a man give an exchange for his soul? So
we know that looks like we were all.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Family here today.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
So if there's anyone in the audience that needs the
prayers of the church, come forward.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
We'll pray with you for you.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
On your behalf. Please come as we stand and sing
the song.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
