Speaker 2 (05:10):
Wanting everybody if we see a lesson a title this morning.
It's simply just words. You know. That's one of the
reasons I had put the song up one twelve is
that song is about angry words and how we use

(05:33):
our words. And you know, Sister Patty last week she
said something about doing a lesson on the tongue. Well,
the tongue's part of it, but I just thought we'd
look at the word words, how we use our words.
You know, in this country today, even this week, we

(05:55):
had the State of the Union address by our president,
and then after he give his words, we had the
rebuttal by somebody else, and then on Friday of this week,
if any of you get PBS. There's a thing called

(06:16):
World Nation or something like that. It's a political show
where they even delved into that the words that the
rebuttal said, how it was interpreted, and how this and that.
And you know, even this morning in our Bible study
we talk about hearing, hearing and understanding, you know, understanding

(06:38):
what words mean. And you know, from time to time
on my lessons, I'll take the dictionary out and find
what the world thinks of the word. Then we look
in at in more detail what the Gospel has to say.
So this morning you have your testaments with you, and
we think to James chapter three, and we're gonna read

(07:01):
all of it because it's a good setting for lesson
this morning. He says, my brother, be not many masters,
knowing that we shall receive the greater poll the nation,
or in many things we offend all. And if any
man offend not in word, the same is a perfect

(07:24):
man and able to bribe the whole. Boy. Now I'm
gonna stop right there. You think about that if you can,
if you can brighten you word or obtain your words,
you can, brother, with your whole body. I've had a
real tough time at that in my lifetime, and I'm
sure all of us do from time to time. But

(07:46):
he says the same as a perfect man. He says, behold,
we put the bits in the horse of the mouse,
for they that they may obey us and turn about
their whole boss. But behold also the ships, which though
they be so great, are driven of fierce winds. Yet

(08:09):
are they turned about with a very small helm, whethersoever
the gun or listen. Even so, the tongue is a
little member, and most of great things, behold, how great
the matter a little fire cannt. The tongue is a fire,
a world of niquity. So is the tongue among our members,

(08:31):
that it would defollow the whole flot and seenteth on
fire the course of nature. And it is set on
fire of hell. For three kind of beasts, and of birds,
and of circuits, and of things in the sea is tamed,
and hath maintained of mankind. But the tongue can no maintain.

(08:53):
It is an unruly equal full of deadny poison. There
unless we God, even the Father, and therewith pursedy men
which are made after the similitude of God out of
the same amount received blessing and cursing my breath man,
these things ought not so to be, doth the fellow

(09:15):
day fountain send forth at the same place sweet water
and bitter can it the fig tree, my brethren, bear
all the grand barriers either advine feeling. So can no
fountain both yell salt water and fresh. Who is a

(09:36):
wise man and endued with knowledge of line, let him
show out of a good conversation his works with meetness
of wisdom. But if there, if you have bitter living,
and strive in your hearts glory, y'all lying not against
the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from a but his

(10:01):
earthly es central debulge. For where ending and strife is,
there is confusion in every evil work. But the wisdom
that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, general,
easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, without hypocrisy, And the fruit of riceness is

(10:26):
sown in peace of them that meat peace. And you know,
there's several different things that we're going to talk about
this morning, and in this text, we're going to pick
out a few things that's talked about in here. It says,
show out of a good conversation he works with meekness

(10:48):
of wisdom our conversation. Do we think about how the
conversations that would have from day to day? And then
he says home that where enmy and stripe is, there
is confusion in every evil word. But the wisdom that
is from above, its first purer than peaceful general is

(11:12):
to be entreated full of mercy and good truth, without partialities,
without what hypocrisy. And we're going to talk about that
a little bit this morning too. But you know our words,
how to we use it? Our tongue? Do we keep
our tongue in check? Well? Our conversation is the first

(11:34):
thing that we're going to look at this morning. In
Second Coribbians, chapter one and verse twelve, it says, for
our rejoicing, is this the testimony of our conscious that
in simplicity and God is sincerity. Not with leslie wisdom,
but by the grace of God we have our conversation

(11:56):
in the world, and more abundantly to you, we should
have our conversation about this simplicity and God is sinceret
Are we sincere in what we're doing? Are we sincere
when we tell somebody? You know, when I type out
an email at the end of the most of my emails.

(12:18):
And I know some of you may not know what
that means. You don't look at emails, but it's just
a little letter or a note to somebody. But even
at that you're saying something to somebody. I said, I
appreciate you, thank you, I appreciate your health in this

(12:39):
thank you for your support. And you know, some people
may think, with redundancy of saying that over and over again,
that I'm not being sincere. But I told somebody one time,
I was asked, what do you think about that? I said,
I hope that people really believe that I am when

(13:00):
I say that that I do appreciate somebody that my
words do have home, being that I am sincere in
what I say, even what I preach this morning. I
hope that you understand that I being sincere not fake.
If I'm up here doing something just to be doing it,
it's of no consequence.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
God's not well pleased in that He wants me to
be doing with his work and doing it to the
best of my ability and means sincere in doing so.
In Psalms chapter fifteen, verse twenty three, it says.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Whosoever offended author of praise glorifith me and Him that
ordereth his conversation a right, while I show the salvation
of God. He said, ordering our conversation a right, put
it in him the right order. Then in Philippians, chapter
one and verse twenty seven, it says, only let your

(13:56):
conversation be as it becometh the Gospel of Christ, that
whether I come and see you or else be absent,
I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast
in one spirit, with one mind s, traveling again for
the faith of the Gospel. Paul speaking to the Philippians here,

(14:18):
he said, whether I'm here or not, I want to
hear good things of you. Let your conversation be so
that I can hear these things of you. Do be
thinking about that when we're out in the world us
as Christians are people singing and having a good conversation
about us. You know, we're not really supposed to be

(14:39):
worried about what others think, But yeah, we need to
be worried about what they're thinking. Are we showing forth
what God would have us to do to them? Because
as brother Johnson lends us in our parents, sometimes we
may be the only Bible that some people read. In Philippians,
chapter three and verse seventeen through twenty, says, brothers, be

(15:01):
followers together of me, and mark them which walk so
as ye have us for an exam for me to
walk of whom I have told you all, and now
tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the
Cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose God is

(15:21):
their belly, whose glory is in their shame, who min
birthly thinks? For our conversation is in heaven. From whence
also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Is that conversation up in heaven? Or are we worried
about the things down here on the earth and the

(15:43):
things that will get us in trouble? When you be
thinking about our conversation, then he says in verse tenney
chapter four and verse twelve, he says, let no man
despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the
believer in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in

(16:04):
faith impure all these things, he says, one of those
is not just in our words, but in our conversations
that we have. And then finally, on our conversation, it
says in Second Peter, chapter three and verse nine through eleven,
it says, the Lord is not slack concerning his promise,

(16:25):
as some mens come slackness, but as long suffering to us,
were not feeling that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord
will come as a thief in the night, in the whist,
the heavens shall pass away with the great noise, and
the elements shall melt with the fervent heat. The earth also,

(16:46):
and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Sitting in that all these things shall be dissolved. Want
manner of persons aught we to be in all. Hold
the conversation, and God is now he even looks at
it like that. He says, the Lord's want to supper.

(17:07):
But these things are going to happen, he says. Knowing this,
we better to get our house in order and make
sure a conversation is holy conversation in the God's But
then I thought they submity people in the world today
that they use. They don't say the words there A

(17:32):
lot of people think them as dirty words, or they're
at word we don't use no more. I thought, you know,
let's think about that. In the God's way. He said,
I took the word the G word. What would you
think the G word is? Well, the G word is
God's name. Think about his.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Name, it says.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
In Athodus, chapter tweeny and verse seven, it says that
shall not take the name of the Lord by God
in vay, or the Lord will not hold him guiltless
that thinketh his name in the bank. You know, people
are just going around, they said God this, and God that,
and God other, and they never have a thought about

(18:15):
what they're saying. God should be held in reverence, most
holding because he sent his son here to die for
us and for our sins. But a lot of people
just use that, and you know they don't even think
about that word. Won I owe them. They just moved
right on past it. But in Psalms chapter won't let

(18:39):
n In nine and ten, it says he sent redemption
unto his people, he had commanded his covenant. Forever. Hold
in Reverend is his name. The fear of the Lord
is the beginning of wisdom, a good understanding. Have all
they that do his commandments. He's praising to us forever.

(19:03):
Holding the Reverend is his name. That's how we should
hold God's Name, And then in George chapter four and
verse twenty three and twenty four says, but the hour cometh,
and now is when the true worshipful shall worship the
Father and Spirit and the truth. For the Father seeketh

(19:24):
such to worship him. God is a spirit, and they
that works with him must works with him in a
spirit and truth. We need to be in the spirit
and have the truth. But God is the Spirit. And
you know, if you talk about him being here this morning,

(19:44):
he's not physically here, but he's here a most if
we're doing what's right. He said, where two or three
are gathered together in My name that are not in
the midst of them? Do he believe that he's here
this morning, that the truth is being taught, that we're
in the script? Are me in the script this morning?

(20:05):
God's name? In Master chapter fifteen, verse eighty nine, it says,
this peop will drop nine and to me with their mouth,
and art of me with their lips. But their heart
is far from me, But in vain they do worship
me teaching for doctrines the Commandment's men. Are we just
drawing nigh to them with their lips giving him lip service?

(20:28):
They all over the grold today. That's all they're doing.
They're just giving lip service. All we love the Lord.
All you gotta do is believe and receive. Believe in
your heart that the Lord come into the world and
done these things, and you'll be all right. No, friends,
that's not what the book said. That's not what it

(20:48):
says for us to do. In Acts chapter four and
verse ten through twelve, it says, be it known under
you all and to all the people, are visual that
by the name of Jesus Christ, of native whom you crucify,
whom God raised from the dead, even by him, this

(21:08):
man's dead. Before you holler. This is the stone which
is set all of you builders, which has become the
head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any
other where there is none other name under heaven given
among men whereby we must be saved. There's no other name. Jesus,
God's son come here and done these things. And you've

(21:34):
done what the Father asked him to do. Are we
willing to do the same? Are we thinking about the
che word? You know, that's one of them. Then I thought,
what about the P word? You know, people don't think
about that very much. And you may think that funny,
But what is the pea word preaching? We preach the

(21:58):
word every day. They say I preach all the time,
And maybe I do. That's just part of it. But
he sent in second tenth of chapter four and verse
one through five, it says, I charge thee therefore before
God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge to
quecken the dead of his appearing in his kingdom, preach

(22:20):
the word be mixt them in season and out of season.
Reproved your beuty, exhort with all long suffering the doctrine,
For the time will come when they will not endure
sent a doctrine. But after their own lust shall they
heap to themselves teachers having itching ears, And they shall
turn away their ears from the truth. And shall we

(22:40):
turn unfamils. Will watch thou in all things enduro leations
do the work of an advantageance may full proof thy minister.
We need to be making full proof of our ministry,
making sure that the Gospels being taught. And if there
ever was a time that they're heaping to themselves teachers
having engineers and have been turned unto fables. Flip on

(23:04):
your TV, turn on your radio this morning. All over
the world, that's all that they listen to. There's very
few that want the truth. In First Printians, chapter one
and verse seventeen through twenty one, it says, for Christ
said not sent me not to baptize, but to preach

(23:25):
the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross
of Christ should be made of none effect. For the
preaching of the prosts to them that perish foolishness. But
unto us which are said, it is the power of God.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of
the wise, and will bring it to nothing the understanding

(23:47):
of the proud. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe?
Whereas the disputor of this world? Have not God made
foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that, in
the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God.
It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save

(24:08):
them that belief. Foolishness of preaching. Most people think this
is just foolishness. You get up here and you preach
the Spiritrus, you quote Spiritrus and go home for thirty
minutes an hour. That's just foolishness. But he says it's
the power of God. I power of God. We see

(24:32):
it as God talking to us. His words are written
in read. In most of the Bibles, they're written in red.
But you know, they're written for our learning, so that
we'll know what even happens to do. Otherwise I wouldn't
know a thing about where I was and where I

(24:53):
was at. In Ecclesiast to You, Chapter twelve, verse nine
and ten, it says moreover, because the preacher was wise,
he still taught the people's knowledge. Yay. He gave good
heed and sought out and set in order of many proverbs.

(25:13):
The preacher sought to find acceptable words, that that which
was written was upright, even words of truth. We're just
looking for the words of truth, acceptable words, you know.
I believe it was Paul when he was talking about

(25:36):
speaking in tongues. There's people in this world today that
think that they can speak in tongues. He said, at
that time, they could do that sort of thing. He said,
I'd rather speak just a few words that people could
understand than speak a whole bunch of words in the tongue.
He said, it's about understanding and understanding fault we're talking about. Well,

(26:00):
then I thought about a D word. A D word,
this is one that I thought. The things you could
take a lesson from all by itself, it's deceit, deceit.
In Joe chapter twenty seven and verse one through four,
it says moreover, Joe continued his parable and said, as

(26:25):
God Niver, who had taken away my judgment, and the Almighty,
who hath vexed my soul all the while by breath
is in me, and the spirit of God is in
my nostrils. My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my
tongue uttered deceit. You know, you go back and you

(26:48):
read Joe. Jo had a lot of claims done into him.
He even had his wife look at him and say,
why don't you just curse God and die? And he
he said, not so he won't want to do that.
And he says, here, my lips shall not speak of
wicked ones, nor might come utter deceit. He didn't want

(27:12):
to deceive somebody with his words. Him Out in the
world today, people think I'll tell you a little bit
of the truth and it'll be okay. It's all right there.
But if you just believe this little bit of it,
that's okay. You don't have to do no more than that,
just that little bit. That's a deceiving friends. They're deceiving

(27:36):
him into believing that all you're gonna do is believe
and receive. All you gotta do is just come to
the church house on Sunday morning. You don't have to
do nothing else. Just come and sit in a put.
You don't have to hear the word talk. You don't
have to do nothing else. That's deceit. Think about how
that works. In Properts, chapter twelve and verse thirteen through seven,

(28:00):
again it says, the wicked is snared by the transgression
of his lips, but the justus shall come out of trouble.
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit
of his mouth, and reconpence of a man's hands shall
be rendered by him. The way of a fool is

(28:22):
right in his own eyes, but he that hearkens of
the council is wise. A fool's wrath is presently known,
but a trudent man coverth shame. He that speaketh truth
shown forward right's tons. But a false witness deceit. A
false witness off all the dews give be deceit, because

(28:46):
they're not telling you the truth. And I never did
like somebody that will lie to I feel like that's
the biggest deceit there is, is that you could be
lied to tell me the truth. You know, I told
you not too long ago, when Dylan had his drink.
I said, it doesn't matter what happened. I said, as

(29:07):
long as you held the truth, it doesn't matter. The
truth is what maatic, The truth is what Manicy in
Ephesians chapter four or verse twenty two through twenty five
and says that he put off concerning the former conversations
the old man, which is corrupt according to deceitful us,

(29:30):
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, that
you put on the new man, which after God is
granted in righteousness and true holiness. There wherefore putting away
live speaking every man truth with his neighbor, for we
are members one and another.
