Voice of the Delaware Blue Hens, Scott.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Kladskin, and now welcome to Klondike Kate's Restaurant and Saloon
at the heart of Main Street and Newark, Delaware.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
Coming off of a bye week, the Blue Hens are
set to get back in action this weekend, and we
are here at Klondike Kate's to help you get ready
for the final stretch of this season. It's the Blue
Hens Football Coaches Show on ninety four to seven w
DSDFM and iHeartRadio by First Date Orthopedics. I'm Scott Katsket,
and tonight we'll get to meet several members of Delaware's
outstanding football coaching staff.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
Defensive line coach.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Kyrie Hawkins is here, Thy Root, so is offensive line
coach Chris Rogers. He's in the building as well, and
quarterbacks coach Corico Wright is here as well.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
But first, please welcome to the show. For the first time.
Quarterbacks coach Sean Goldrich, K you.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Welcome, Thank you for being here. Welcome to the show.
Coach Carter getting a night off tonight. I'm sure it's
not a night off though. What do you think he's
probably putting in plays and doing all types of work
tonight right now.
Speaker 6 (01:10):
Oh, there's no doubt. The work never stopped.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
It never stops for that man.
Speaker 7 (01:13):
So it is.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
It's great to have you guys here.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
We get to know you guys a little bit and
introduce you to our our great audience that is here
and at Lacasa Pasta every week. But I'll start with
you as quarterbacks coach. I mean, your head's got to
be spinning this season.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
It's unique.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
It's unlike a typical season when you have, you know,
one quarterback maybe even two that they get to play.
But you've been rotating quarterbacks throughout the season, not due
to level of play, but kind of due to to
getting some injuries. The injury bugets hit the quarterback spot.
So kind of describe it in your word, your perspective,
how the season is gone in your room.
Speaker 6 (01:46):
Yeah, I mean they keep it interesting at least for sure. Yeah,
going into training camp and the first thing you're saying
is please, let's just keep these guys healthy for a year,
you know, and you don't really make it too far
before you got to sit there and get back to
the drawing board. So but it's an awesome group. I mean,
they've been amazing from day one. I think one of
the things you always try to do with the quarterback
spot is create a competitive environment. And these guys are
(02:06):
competing every single day. I mean, and they're close friends,
which is pretty cool to see. So yeah, you try
to do the best you can to create that atmosphere
and try to make sure they're pushing each other and say, hey,
stay ready. You never know what's gonna be your drive,
never know what's gonna be your time, and when that
time does come, they're always pushing each other, excited for
each other. So it's been, you know, it's been obviously
up and down and a round deal. But we've got
a lot of experience in the room now and a
(02:26):
lot of great guys that can play.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
They seem like a great group and they've been ready
in seven and one and despite the disruptions to that
quarterback position is pretty darn good. I don't know how
familiar you are with the show, you're probably working on
Wednesday nights as well, but we do it. We have
a segment here where every Wednesday, coach Carty comes on
and he announces the starting quarterback to the You laugh,
(02:49):
you blew it, You blew it yourself, you buy laughing.
You kind of gave away the joke, all right, So
we will skip over that, but I will talk to
you about the starting quarterback from the last week's game.
Last time we went out two weeks ago against Alby,
Nick Minacucci stepped up, really played well.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
Your thoughts on Knick's performance.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
Yeah, I really impressed with Nick. I think nothing, you know,
since he's been here is to nothing but get better
and better. You know, he's a competitive kid, and he's
tough as hell. You know, he just wants to get
out there. He wants to hit people. He wants to
play aggressive, and we're trying to find ways to fine
tune him to be a little bit more of a
polished QB and take off, you know, take off hits
when you can and see the field a little bit
differently and do things you got to do to be
a you know, a veteran player. And he's continuing to
(03:26):
do that and he's doing it at a high level.
And I think what he does is he leans on
the people around him. He doesn't try to do too much.
He stays within the system, trust the things that we're coaching,
and he's done a great job of doing that and
most importantly, hild on the ball, which gives us a
chance of wins.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
That's right, and you guys done a great job in
that category, one of the best in the country. We've
talked about throughout the year, just handling that that that
football and and not turning the ball over. Now you
talk about kind of the quarterbacks changing up a little bit,
and you were in your career the first freshman to
ever start a season opener at New Hampshire. So you
were a starter from the very start, but it wasn't
without some competition of your own, you Andy Vaalis. So
(03:59):
we're we're competing for a job at New Hampshire. How
does your experience and not too long ago as a
quarterback kind of help them have that perspective and you
can kind of touch on what they're going through as well.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
Yeah, well, I think it's everything you know at the
college level as you realize quickly that you're not the
only one that really wants to play, and you're not
the only one with talent. And I think in order
to be a great football team you have to have depth.
You know, you really can't, especially at the quarterback spot,
go all in on one guy and then you find
out you're singing a different tune when you got a
next guy up. You know, if you can create that
competitive atmosphere and have guys that are itching to play
and do things at a high level and want to
(04:32):
be great, I think that's gonna help build up your team.
And I think we're gonna give the credit to our
guys for as they've shown to rally behind whoever's behind center,
and I think that shows the testament of like what
kind of team we have and what we can be here,
which is special. So I think for me as a player,
it always made me better. No, and I can't take
days off, And that's what I remind the guys. There's
always someone you're competing with, always someone you gotta beat out,
(04:52):
whether they're in this room or across the field. For me,
on the other sideline, you got to be the best
version of yourself. So it's always been something I pushed
them for and they've done a hubb responding.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Absolutely, we're talking with Sean Golder's quarterbacks coach at the
University of Delaware, a record setting quarterback at New Hampshire.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
We remember playing against you.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
You did pretty well against Delaware, so we won't rehashit
too much of that. But those that don't remember, Ryan
Carty was your offensive coordinator during your college career. So
what's the difference that you've had now as a player
and having him as your coach now working alongside him.
Speaker 6 (05:25):
Yeah, I mean it's been great start to finish. I think,
you know, we do go way back. I think his
first game ever call him plays was my first start.
So kind of crazy how the football world kind of
kept us connected. And you know, there's still sometimes I'm
sitting there in the film room listening to them coach,
and some of it seems like deja vu. You know,
I remember these same coaching points showing up for me.
And the thing I appreciate about Coach Carty has been consistent,
you know, the way he kind of teaches his progression,
(05:45):
how he treats the kids, the energy that creates in
the room has always been the same, and I think
that's what these kids that fed off of and allowed
them to get better fast, you know. And I think
for me that's always been something I've kind of appreciated
and it made my experience as a quarterback better was
being in that environment and allowing to be you know,
you know, ask questions and continue to progress. So he's
done a great job of that, and I think for
(06:06):
the kids, I think they kind of see the same
thing and I try to feed off of that always
and try to create the same energy in the room.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Well, you mentioned that he started his offensive coordinator job
at New Hampshire the same time that you were starting
as a quarterback at New Hampshire, and they were always
creative at New Hampshire, still very creative and now here
at Delaware. He's probably listening right now, so we'll be careful.
But does he ever walk in the room on a
Monday and he's like, coach, I got an idea.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
Here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna split Brock out
to the right side. And it just like do you
roll your eyes? Sometimes they're like, wow, where does this
guy come.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Up with these things?
Speaker 6 (06:38):
Well, you know, there's always something for sure. I mean,
if anyone's ever watched us play, we always got some
wrinkles and cool things that we do, and I think
that's what keeps it fun. Yeah, and even for the
kids too, you know, you really like every week kind
of keeps them involved. There's always something new going on
that we're doing. I think that keeps it fun and
exciting for him.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
So yeah, I want to build on that though, because
I would think to be a.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Quarterback especially and know that you're not just gonna be
calling this same five plays or ten plays, that these
different designs and these different formations, like that's got to
be something they look forward to coming into the to
work on Mondays.
Speaker 6 (07:07):
Yeah, definitely. You know, it just keeps it exciting. And
then when you're out there practicing things and you're doing
new stuff, I mean, the kids buy into it and
they're excited about as well too. And when you show
them different clips of how we want to do things
and coach them up on it, you know, it gives
them a little bit more of a different perspective on
different ways they could be good too, different ways we
could use them and use their talent. I think that's
part of being a coach as you're trying to find
ways to get the best out of your players different
(07:28):
plays in ways you can kind of let them use
their abilities, which we do you know a lot of here,
and I think it allows our guys to be successful that.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
Well, you do a great job.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
We always talk a little bit about recruiting coming off
of a bye week, and not necessarily who you are
out there or names, but as someone that is working
in that quarterback position going out there on the recruiting trail.
You guys have a quarterback academy. You guys have Joe
Flacco as a reference point. Rich Gannon like, how does
(07:56):
that help? And on the recruiting trail, I would think
it would be very helpful when you're talking to sspective
quarterbacks and saying, hey, look what's been here before you
and this could be your future as well.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
Yeah, well it's amazing, you know, it really is. And
I think that's one of the things that makes it
easy about this place is like you're just looking at
the history. You're like, hey, I don't have to fake
it for you. Here's the stats. Look at the names
of the people that have come through here and have
done things at the highest level, and like when you're
talking to a young kid. You want to promise them
the dream, promise them everything they could be on the
football field, and the expectation for them to be able
to have an opportunity to go play in the NFL.
(08:25):
And then when you're like, hey, look man, a lot
of guys before you have done it. You're not going
to be the first pioneer to go out here and
go make it to the NFL. It keeps it real,
keeps it in perspective, and then it's not like, hey,
I'm trying to lie to you or trying to sell
you something that's fake. It's been done, you know, and
these guys are open to that. And then you bring
them around the academy and they get a chance to
meet these guys and be in front of them and
shake their hand. They're like, it's getting even more real,
you know, And like that's the thing you kind of
(08:46):
remind the guys every day when whether it's a NFL
scouts showing up at practice or you're shaking Rich Cannon's hand,
this is not that far away from making it a
reality for you. So it's been really cool to be
a part of that here. Something I continue to try
to build on. Something I take pride in is being
a guy that can recruit to kind of build on
that legacy, and this place makes it easy.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Well, we're so glad that you are here as a coach.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
I do want to talk a little bit more about
your playing days, because talked about what you did at
New Hampshire.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Heck of a ball player.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
I was broadcasting your games here, That's how long I've
been doing this here at Delaware. But against Delaware, you
had the number one team in the country in twenty fourteen.
You threw four touchdown passes against Delaware.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
He blew us out. Unfortunately, you know that Carty wasn't
here yet.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
You know we weren't doing what we're doing now. You
did come to the Delaware stadium though, the next year
in Delaware even even the.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Score up a little bit. So what was your experience?
Speaker 4 (09:34):
What was your memory like of going against the University
of Delaware as an opponent, opposing player?
Speaker 6 (09:39):
Well, I think I mean when I first got the
call that this might be an opportunity for me to
come down and work with coach, I remember those two
things right away, and I remember leaning up into that
game the first time we played them and like hearing
about the tradition of Delaware and then obviously Coach Carti
telling stories about what it was like his experience and
how much you appreciated this place, and like, man, that's
that place sounds pretty awesome, you know. And they got
the tradition, you know, I talk about the championships, the
(10:00):
people that have played there, and you're like, man like,
this seems like a spot to be, you know, and
Coach helped make that a little bit more real. And
then my senior year, I came down here and this
is before the renovations for the stadium, but I remember
coming out pregame and at being packed and I'm like,
man like, this is for real. Like these guys do
not mess around like yelling stuff, throwing stuff, and You're like,
man like, they're passionate about their football, which at the
(10:20):
FCS level you don't see that everywhere you go, you know.
So I remember when Coach called me, was like, hey, man,
you might have a shot to come down here and
coach the quarterbacks work for me Again, I'm like, that's
one of the places I knew I always had an
appreciation for and had interest in because for what we
do you love being in a place they love their football,
and this place.
Speaker 7 (10:36):
Does love it.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Yeah, fans listening, it does make a difference. You hear
it from a former opposing player when you come in.
It's loud at Delaware Stadium. It does make a difference.
And we've got some really great fans here at the
University of Delaware. Coach, I'm gonna talk to you again
at the NFSHL. We'll talk a little bit about Rhode Island.
But thank you for getting us so started here on
kind of a meet the coaches to night. We're gonna
take a time out. When we come back, will be
another one. Quarterbacks coach Corico right will be here.

thank you so much for being.
Speaker 15 (14:37):
Here, Thank you, thank you. What's going on? Blue hen Nation?
Happy to be here.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
You were pumping up the crowd a little bit when
we came up.
Speaker 15 (14:43):
Right, It's all about the energy for sure.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
You cornerbacks love to do that, love love to showcase
and pump up the crowd.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
You got a great group. But first want to talk
about you.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
Welcome.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
A little bit of a delay came to the staff
last season in February of twenty twenty three. But how
have you enjoyed your time in New Arc so far?
Speaker 15 (15:00):
It's been great, an unbelievable place.
Speaker 16 (15:01):
The staff welcome me in with open arms, and there's
been a great opportunity to be here. It's a great
football place, and like coach Gover said, you know immediately
that his football place is important. Football is super important
here and what an unbelievable opportunity I have to coach
with some great guys and coach some great players along
the way as well.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Absolutely, I think our fans right now are so excited
to have a defensive guy on the show. Finally we
can talk some defense on here because coach Carr, he's
looking at his.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
iPad when you guys are out on the field.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
I can't ask him defensive questions right because he's getting
ready for the next series. So if we'll finally get
to talk a little bit of defense on here and
what a talented group you are coaching. And I think
similar to to offensive line who will talk to coach
Rodgers in a little bit, it's the one position group
maybe where if you're doing your job well, your name's
probably not could be mentioned very much, And so rarely
(15:53):
I think do I mention guys like Herring and Lied
and Evans because they're doing such a good job. So
I'll let you kind of them up a little bit
and tell us about your group and what you like
about coaching them.
Speaker 15 (16:03):
First of all, I like the fact that they're good people.
Speaker 16 (16:05):
We did an unbelievable job of going to hunt the
right person first and foremost, and secondly, that football is
off the charts. Obviously there's always a room for improvement
and every expert of their game, but for the most part,
those guys do everything we ask them to do and
play man nigga, play zone. They can tackle, they can blitz,
and we do a lot in our secondary so they
unbelievably smart as well. And for the most part they've
(16:27):
been just doing what we ask them to do and
something and so a lot of it is easy when
you got the right people. So we try to pride
ourselves in doing that. And I'm so proud of those guys,
and it's an unbelievable opportunity to coach them as well.
Come in every day, fired up, ready to go and
and ready to get them better.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
Well, you brought in.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Most of them are our newcomers or been here for
one or two seasons, and so they've been doing a
fantastic job. Now we talk about the takeaways and how
important the turnover battle. That's a theme of the season.
Really thirteenth in FCSID interceptions per game, you have ten
on the season, that's first in the CAAA. We know
on offense how we stress heart and practicing keeping the
(17:06):
ball and not turning the ball over. But in terms
of takeaway, how is that stressed defensively in terms of
gaining takeaways?
Speaker 16 (17:11):
Yeah, so you don't get what you expect, you get
what you inspect, and we do a phenomenal job of
inspecting that and helping our guys realize that turnovers are important.
Speaker 7 (17:19):
We go out every day before practice and we take.
Speaker 16 (17:21):
Time out to do different turnover drills where it's catching
the ball, punching the ball out, ripping the ball out,
scooping and scoring all the things that encompass a turnover.
And so that starts at the top. Coach Carter put
a big inphasis on hard and turnovers and keeping the
ball away from the opposing team, and same with Coach
Rojas on defense. He does a great job of saying
and pointing out on tape when we need to get
the ball out of opportunities to punch the ball, like
(17:43):
catch the ball in the air. And it goes to
with our scheme. We got a lot of guys on
the feet, We got a lot of guys with O's
back there, so they able to play the ball in
the era. When the ball pop out, were able to
scoop and score it and get it back to the
offense who we know is going to score a boat low.
Speaker 7 (17:56):
So we appreciate those guys with that as well.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
It's a two a street. There's a lot of appreciation
are going both ways. When the offensive defense are playing,
I will throw this out there. Rhode Island has thrown
ten interceptions this season there, top twenty five most in FC. Yes,
so there is potential for some a takeaway in the
game against Rhode Island the way things have been going
for your group as well. Now you're not just cornerbacks coach,
(18:18):
you are the defensive pass game coordinator.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
Kind of share with us what that all entails.
Speaker 16 (18:23):
When it's good, I'm the defensive pass game well we
catching interceptions and getting PBUs and stopping them for one
hundred and fifty less pass it I'm the past game coordinator.
Speaker 15 (18:33):
Other than that, I'm assigned to other duties a by
the head coach.
Speaker 6 (18:36):
Is that right?
Speaker 7 (18:37):
But no, we got a good scheme.
Speaker 16 (18:39):
It has a lot of flexibility in it with three
safeties back there and you got two corners and sometimes
we got another dB there in the slot, which helps
us do a lot of different things and use it
to our strength. And so we got an unbelievable group
at corner end safety and those guys do a phenomenal
job but doing we ask him to do, and we
try not to put too much on them, but they
do a phenomenal job of executing at a high level
(19:03):
and executing consistently to have us to be able to
do the things we want to do.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
On defense, well, i'll tell you congratulations because you've been
defensive past coordinator seven times a season. It sounds like
you guys have done a fantastic job of seven to
one record on the You guys are playing some great
football talk with coreco right quarterbacks to a coach and
to get familiar with your playing career. Talk a little
bit with coach Goldrich about his But it all started
at Clemson. And I think a lot of people are
familiar now with what Clemson is and they've been to
(19:29):
four last nine national championship games.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
But before you arrived, it.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Wasn't necessarily what it is today. Terry Bowden had left
mid season prior to you arriving. And you are actually
part of what they call, if I'm not mistaken, the
Dandy does it the first recruiting class of Dabo Swinning.
So you started to really help build that program. There
must be a lot of pride to see where it
is now and where really your recruiting class and his
(19:55):
first started at all.
Speaker 16 (19:57):
Yeah, so it again, it starts at the top. Don
coach twenty has done an unbelievable job in his career.
They're at Clemson of establishing an element of belief, and
that started early on in his career. That started with
the Dandy doesn't and we just implemented that and we
executed it to the best of our ability.
Speaker 15 (20:13):
And along the way you had to have some really
good players.
Speaker 16 (20:16):
And TAJ Boys Sammuel Watkins and Mark Tavis, Brian and
Nuke Hopkins, and those guys were there. Stefan and Anthony,
Jonathan Meeks, Restaw Hall, all those guys was there to.
Speaker 7 (20:26):
Carry that on and do it the way that coach
wanted to do it.
Speaker 16 (20:29):
And it was easy doing it for Coach Twenny unbelievable
human being, unbelievable family, and so it was easy doing
it at Clemson, So it was easy for us to
do it. And those guys just continue to carry it on.
So I'm not shocked that they've had the success that
they've had up to this point. They're going to continue
to do it as long as Coach Wweny's at the hem.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
There two hundred tackles for you as a linebacker at Clemson,
a lot of success in building up that park. What
have you taken from your time either as a coach
at Clemson or as a player that you kind of
bring with you as a head coach yourself now or
she has to coach yourself now.
Speaker 15 (21:02):
Yeah, no, that's a great question. Again, it's about the people.
Speaker 16 (21:05):
If you surround yourself with good people who are doing
it for the right reasons and for the right reasons,
everything else handles itself. And so that's what's the thing
that sticks out to me the most that that's over
my quaching career has been there. It's about the people,
the people you work with, the people in those building,
and just the fact that it just come down to blocking, tackling, execute,
(21:27):
and communicating and playing with relentless pursuit and effort. Those
things are always going to win football games, no matter
how much the game changes. Those things are always going
to be there.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Where you talk about good people and one of the
people in your room is a captain this season.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
That's Tyron Herring. Tell us a little bit more about.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
Him and maybe some of the reasons that he was
renamed captain of this football team.
Speaker 16 (21:48):
Tyron has the ability to talk to anyone, be around
anybody in any room, any setting, and bring people in
and so that's one of the tricks that he has
that is phenomenal to be such a young person, I say,
a young person. He's the oldest person in the room.
I always tell him all the time, Hey, old man,
let's get going today. And so, what an unbelievable person
he is. What an unbelievable spirit and the man of
(22:10):
faith that he is. And we're just so fortunate to
have him on our program. He has changed our program
for the better. For sure, we're better because of Tyron Herron.
We're better because of what he brings to the table
as a person, but also what he brings to the
table every week and on every weekend, on Saturdays and
whatever stadium we in. He is super consistent. He is
(22:31):
just a beautiful person in a bright young mind. And
one day he's probably gonna hire me and maybe you two.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
I an old man with an Ivy League degree.
Speaker 15 (22:40):
He is phenomenal.
Speaker 7 (22:42):
He is phenomenal.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
Well, I'm glad, I asked because of the very kind
words you said about one of our captains. And again,
who these cornerback groups don't always get the accolades is
maybe some of the others that are out there making stuff.
I do want to ask another question as a guy
that came from from Clemson.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
Last night we saw.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
The first bracket of the College Football Playoff kind of
expansion bracket. Now, you coached in the national championship game
in twenty sixteen at Clemson. Your thoughts on kind of
the expansion and going to twelve teams as someone that
has lived it when it was smaller.
Speaker 16 (23:12):
It helps, It helps the game, It helps people get
in and make the make it interesting, sort of like
Mars Maddness. You just never know who is going to
rise to the top and who's gonna make it and win.
So I think that helps our game. That helps everybody
get a fresh out at the national title. So I
think it's gonna be great, and I believe that we're
all gonna love it and just going to continue to
grow and be something special that we all appreciate.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Well, I think it's gonna be fun.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
I think we're excited about heading up to the FBS
next season as well. But before we do that, we
got three more of this season and I wish you
all the best of luck to close out November on
a high note.
Speaker 15 (23:45):
I appreciate it all right, Thank you so much.
Speaker 7 (23:47):

Hens Football Coaches Show listeners who are invited into the
Blue Hens Touchdown Club meeting on Friday inside the Bob
Kartner Center's Carpenter Club. Doors open at eleven, lunches served
at eleven fifteen, and the program begins at noon. Guest
speakers this week will be linebackers coach Rocko Dimico and
basketball coach Is Martin Inglesby, and Sarah Jenkins. Our next
(27:03):
guest was a speaker at the Touchdown Club just a
few weeks back, and now he'll get to talk with
us returning guests to the show, offensive line coach Chris Rogers.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Listen to that. You hear that? My goodness, you you are.
I will say this, You always give off a positive vibe.
You always have a great energy to you. Where where
does that stem from?
Speaker 19 (27:24):
I mean, honestly, just my life growing up. I've always
been alignment and uh that's who I am as a
person and always had that kind of energy that just
kind of walked into a room and tried to be
at least an uplifting person. I want to be a
kind of person who who brings people up and doesn't
bring them down.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
I think that's something that's important to me.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
It is, well, it's important to those around you. And
I mean it when I when I say like, we
need more people like you around that are uplifting and
you want to match the energy when when you see
someone like yourself and I appreciate and so what.
Speaker 5 (27:55):
We appreciate you.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
I will say with with that, though, I do have
a question pertaining to that because we're putting out the
if those on X or Twitter wherever we're calling it,
or we promote the show, and we put out the
head shots, and I've got three guys with just beautiful smiles.
They're laughing out, They're having a good, very intimidating headshot.
Totally you decided what went into that decision to not
have the smile?
Speaker 19 (28:16):
You know sometimes I'm a big smile. Well I got
a small smile.
Speaker 7 (28:20):
I'm just like, you can't see it on the radio.
Speaker 19 (28:22):
People who we're here at Klondike, Kate say, can see
real small smile. But then if it's not a smile,
it's straight face. You know, sometimes you got to look young.
Speaker 7 (28:32):
You know, we got a look tough.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Sometimes, well you've got a tough group alignments, So not
only are they a tough group, but they are a
veteran group. And when we look at the guys that
have really been playing a lot this season, Shop Gingrich
and Yewu sparks one hundred and sixty three career games
across the line, and then you sprinkle in Finton Bros.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
Who's a veteran coming into this year.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
How does that make your life a little bit easier
as a coach, and you've got guys that have done
it before.
Speaker 19 (28:57):
I mean, it's it's an amazing experience. Just like these
guys have said before me, we have really smart we
have really good young men. We have young men that
are gonna go on and become CEOs of companies and
they're gonna be business leaders in America. And it's not
it's not a school that people just come here just
for one reason. Obviously, football is important, it's important to us,
(29:19):
it's important to our young men, but school's important here too,
and we want good people. We want people who are
gonna make a difference. And I got I got more
than just five. It's five right now that play for us,
But I got more than five. And they're all looking
to be something after they get done playing. One day,
even you know, they play in the NFL, that'd be
great for all of us. But if they don't do that,
(29:40):
they're gonna be successful. They're gonna look back at their
experience here and they're gonna know what made them a
better person. And like you said, the experience, that's been
an amazing part of this so far. You know, when
I came in, we kind of got beat up by
by some of the people who would watch some Delaware football.
And it's see that these young men kind of transform
(30:02):
our room and to build this culture into what it is.
And like some of these other guys said, I walk in,
they're so easy to coach. They love the game, they're
locked in, they take notes, they handle their business. You
tell them something once and they don't forget it. Sometimes
even if you forget it as a coach, they'll be like, yeah,
but coach, didn't you say And I'm like, that was
(30:22):
five weeks ago. That doesn't count. So I think it's
It's been a great experience and I look forward to
walking into my meeting room every day.
Speaker 7 (30:30):
It's the best part of my day.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
That's a great feeling.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
And to have what a good group it is talked
about some of the veterans, But tell me about this
this new guy that is starting on the offensive line
because come out of high school. West Virginia wanted them,
Pitt wanted them, Temple wanted them, Maryland won him. The
list goes on and on, but Onwar O'Neill. What a
bright future he has and a bright Curren season he's having.
Speaker 5 (30:51):
But we're glad to have him. Around, aren't we Yeah.
Speaker 19 (30:53):
Oh man, And to keep him in the state of Delaware,
it's critical. It was critical for us, and we recruited
him hard. And what an awesome another one, an awesome
young man person with a lot, a lot of personality.
Speaker 7 (31:05):
In the recruiting process, he was.
Speaker 19 (31:07):
Kind of quiet, and I was like, I kind of
wonder what he's gonna be like in the meeting room.
But gosh, he's awesome. He's easy to coach, real smart,
he's a heady football player. He's tough as nails. He
knows how to bend his knees and if you know
what I'm talking about in football, jeez, that's important for
us to bend your knees. So and then on top
of that, he's found a way to just be real
(31:29):
tough on the on Saturdays, battle through an injury, battle
through whatever, show up to practice, ready to go on
on Tuesday.
Speaker 20 (31:38):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (31:38):
The kind of young man everybody wants to coach.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
I heard you got a lot of questions about fundamentals
and knee ben and get the touchdown club a couple
of weeks ago, So I'll leave that alone. You've already
answered a lot of any Hills questions I'll be a
little easier on you than they may have been. But
we talk about those starters and you mentioned you got
even more, and of course you do guys that are
all battling, but players have That was some injuries this
(32:00):
season and everyone I think has missed a little bit
of time. And when Brock Gingrich goes down, and what
a great asset he's been for this team and this
program over the last couple of years. Steven Demboski steps
right up, has such a good game, agains North Carolina,
A and C. I'm sure that was a proud moment
for you to somebody get put into a tough spot
and rise to the occasion.
Speaker 19 (32:20):
Yeah, I mean Denboy, we call him Den. We all
got nicknames in our room, but Denbo for us, he
stepped up.
Speaker 7 (32:27):
He showed up.
Speaker 19 (32:27):
A center's a really hard position just to jump in
there and be ready to go for anybody who's never
really been on the field on Saturday, and like you know,
you watch all the film in the world, but sometimes
they just line up a little different and you got
to have a plan. And for somebody who just sits
in the film room and can learn just doing that,
(32:49):
that's not an easy thing to do. But Dembo same
as anwar He's tough as nails. He'll jump in there,
he'll battle. But he's also really smart. He's a heady player.
And get another one. I'm lucky to coach.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
Yeah, well, we're glad that you're coaching them up. Not
only are you the offensive line coach and we're talking
with Chris Rodgers here on the Blue Hens Football Coaches Show,
you're also the run game coordinator. So how special was
it for Marcus Yarns to get invited recently to the
one hundredth annual East West Shrine Game.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
Pretty cool?
Speaker 7 (33:20):
What an awesome thing, Marcus Sharns. I'll always clap for
Marcus Harns.
Speaker 19 (33:25):
He makes us look real good, obviously, Marcus, Joe, Nathan
Quincy said, all of them, and Kale when he gets
a crack at it, he can play too. And Coach
Pierce does such an awesome job in that room, and uh,
they make us all look good up front, you know.
And then I know Coach Smith in the tight end room,
(33:46):
he he battles hard to join us in the run
game and we do our best to Just if you
give Marcus Yarns just a little bit of a hole.
You'll make everybody pay. So I call him Wiggles. We
got some Wiggles.
Speaker 5 (34:00):
We all throw that in there on Saturday. All write
it down.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Now, I've been noticing a trend that's happened more times
than one this season. At the end of the game
in victory formation, Max Patterson and I believe a defensive
player this last go about it does a backflip out
on field.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
He has a backflip.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Now, I want to know if you are the inspiration
for that backflip because I saw a video of you
backflipping this summer into a point.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
So it is, it is out there.
Speaker 19 (34:29):
And I didn't even put that in the world. Oh
I didn't put that in the world. It's on Twitter.
Then you know about it.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
There we go.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
And so an athletic backflip? Where did that athletician come from?
And I know it's during the Olympics that where you inspired.
Speaker 19 (34:42):
Well, I guess I got to start with my parents
on that one, you know, And uh were they big,
I'm afraid yeah, oh yeah. They gave me all the
jeans that I could ever ask for. I think that
that for me, I always had to pride myself out again,
you can't see me on the radio, but I'm not
a very tall guy. So on the line world, I'm
like the shortest person in my room by like seven
(35:03):
inches sometimes, And so I always had to be athletic
and show some athletic feats. And you know, backflip really
ain't that athletic. You just got to really send it.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
You know, Well you've sent it, and I'm sure you've
inspired some players that are now doing that when we
win our football games.
Speaker 7 (35:21):
Now.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
You also had an excellent playing career. You finished your
career at sam Houston State University. That we'll be going
and playing against her all modern next season in conference play,
most likely when that schedule comes out. But you mentioned
just how smart your offensive linemen are and them graduating
and them going on to do big things. You had
such a unique graduation that I want to ask you
(35:43):
about that because you received your diploma not on stage,
but walking down the aisle of a team of flight.
Speaker 5 (35:50):
Yeah, and just so unique. Tell us about that experience.
Speaker 19 (35:54):
Yeah, with the homework, he's always on it obviously for
me getting on you know, it's not like it was
something like we didn't even know it was gonna happen,
but we knew we were missing graduation and it was
important for me. I wasn't always the greatest in school,
so to get that degree was pretty important. It's important
for my family, and I thought that was a really
(36:15):
cool experience. We were flying, actually flying to go get
Villanova in the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
You guys know about that.
Speaker 19 (36:22):
We were going to play Villanova in the playoffs. And
had one of our administrative members who walked up to
me and said, hey, you guys are gonna graduate on
the airplane. So she gave me the smallest cap and
gown that I think she could find. She said it
was hers, So so it fit me, not very good,
(36:43):
like a like a queen size sheet on a king
sized bed. And so I put it on and went
to the back of the airplane, and I found myself
high five in everybody along the way. And you know,
once you start high five in and people start throwing
them out there, you feel bad. So I must have
given it out about fifty five high fives on that.
Speaker 7 (37:03):
Well, it was a cool experience. Yeah, it was a
cool experience, well deserved.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
Well, hey, we've got speaking about playing Villanova, We've got
them on the schedule. We've got Campbell, We've got Rhode Island.
You guys all set for Saturday, Rhode Islands next on deck.
I'm sure you guys will have them locked and loaded.
Speaker 7 (37:17):
Yep, absolutely all right, coach.
Speaker 5 (37:18):

like coaching these guys up this season?
Speaker 26 (41:52):
I mean Keishawn and Melkart. They both do a great job.
They're very detailed. I mean, the guys all in the group, Honestly,
they do a great job of pushing each other there
til they coach each other up. It's not just me
coaching them in the group. You know, sometimes they coach
me up as well, like coach Rogers says, sometimes they're
correcting me. And you know, I love that because they're
keeping me on my toes. I keep them on their toes.
We keep each other going, and they do a great
(42:12):
job pushing each other and Melcok, Keyshawn jack Ethan, you know,
they do a great job leading us. And then you
know like a Dom and Nick and all those guys
behind them. You know, they do a great job playing
all together as a unit.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
Yeah, they done a nice job your group of rotating
guys in and not having a drop off when the
next guy comes up, that next man up mentality, and
everybody's doing a great job. What's it like coaching a
personality like Keyshawn Hunter. He seems like just a great
fun guy to be around.
Speaker 26 (42:36):
Yeah, he's definitely a lively guy. You know, he definitely
is always getting the room going. You know, he has
some great conversations that he likes to get going, hypothetical
situations that get the room sparked of a conversation. So
he's a great guy. You know, I love having them
in the room. He brings a passion to the field
every day. You know, he's a person who's always trying
to get better on and off the field. You know,
I can really appreciate that. So he's a great guy.
Speaker 4 (42:58):
It seems like mel average out. He was having a
great season. I mentioned fifth and the CIA in sacks.
It is has having such a good season now, but
the ceiling seems to be really high for a guy
that wasn't heavily recruited out of high school, somewhat maybe
even raw coming in. What do you think in terms
of potential he has, especially with a guy his size.
Speaker 20 (43:18):
I mean, Melkart's great.
Speaker 26 (43:19):
I mean I think he can do, you know, anything
that he really wants in this football industry, in the world.
He's a very smart kid. He's a very good kid
all together. He plays hard, he's detailed, he's smart. He
watches a lot of film. You know, he's texting me
late at night asking me about videos and things like that.
Speaker 20 (43:34):
So he's a great guy.
Speaker 26 (43:36):
You know, he really puts it all together on and
off the field, and I think that's what makes him special.
He does a great job of doing that. And you know,
like I said, the room all together. They really do
a great job putting it all together on and off
the field. And that's a big thing that we talk
about in the room, you know, talk about as a team.
The way you do anything is the way you do everything.
So they do a great job together by living by that,
and you know, just putting that into example in life.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
I'm trying to write down all these sayings that you
guys are having throughout the night and really a good philosophy.
He's of being thrown out here tonight, melkart albu Jowday.
He you know, coach Rogers. Rogers said that he calls
Marcus Charne Wiggles. That's a great nickname. He needs a nicknack.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
I doubt you are or what do you call him?
Speaker 4 (44:14):
Because I doubt you're yelling at malcode every day I practice.
Speaker 5 (44:17):
Like, what what's the shortened version that we can work with? Well,
I like to call him the milkman, like the milk
milk milk man.
Speaker 20 (44:22):
I feel like he always delivers. He's always delivers. He's
always there when I need him. He's always there, you know,
to make a play.
Speaker 26 (44:27):
He's you know he's doing his job, he's holding up gas,
he's disengaging well.
Speaker 20 (44:31):
Getting to the quarterback, he calls havoc.
Speaker 4 (44:33):
So I love it when you're when you are done
your coaching career, years and years from now, here's a
spot for you in our broadcast booth. I like the
milkman always delivers well, he's been delivering sacks. Your defensive
line has been delivering sacks. I want to go over
just some stats from the stat category because just to
show some reference point of just how significant it has been.
Twenty three sacks this season in eight games, twenty one total.
(44:58):
Last season in thirteen games, we had twenty four. In
twenty twenty two. We had six sacks total in twenty nineteen,
to now have twenty three and eight games. How are
you coaching them up to get to the quarterback this year?
Speaker 26 (45:10):
I mean really, At first, it starts with coach Cart
and coach Rojas. You know, they've done a great group,
done a great job putting a great group in front
of me. I think they've assembled a great group of
guys who do a great job of being detailed, being
assignment sound. The big thing is, we really don't talk
too much about Sacks talk about more about doing our job.
You know, the job is most important. You know, A
(45:30):
big thing that I talk about is, you know, all
defenses really work when those guys are doing their jobs
the right way. So as long as you go out
there and execute, it's going to work out the way
that we plan it, that you plan it. We all
have the same agenda, we all have the same mindset,
and we all want the same thing.
Speaker 7 (45:43):
We want to win.
Speaker 20 (45:44):
So to do that, you have to do your job.
Speaker 26 (45:45):
And when you're doing your job and you're a little
bit more assignment sound than your opponent, you know, maybe
you said it a little bit more film, or you're
a little bit more detailed or a little bit more technical,
and watching them, you know, the little things that coach
Carti really points out for the team, you know, it
really makes a difference in the long run. So it's
all about again living the way you do on the
field and off the field, you know, living right in
your life and you know, being detailed in what you
(46:07):
are passionate about investing in your craft. And I think
they do a great job Coach Cardi, coach Ross. Again,
they put a great group in front of me. So
just putting it all together for those guys, and they
have find a good chemistry between each other as a unit,
feeding off of each other. They understand how important it
is to work together, and they know that Melkart or
Keishaan or q or Ethan.
Speaker 20 (46:25):
Sacks are never by themselves. It's the back end.
Speaker 26 (46:28):
It's the corners, it's the safeties, it's the linebackers covering.
It's those guys forcing the quarterback one way and the
other way. So it's not about those guys, and I
think they really understand that, and that's what makes it
important for them.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
Well, it's been a beautiful thing to watch everything come
together in cohesion this season, and you guys are doing
a fantastic job. I wanted to hype you up. I
wanted to tell everybody how great of a person you
are because it might go south on you in just
a moment. I'll tell you why, because for those that
don't know, you are a twenty seventeen graduate of James
Madison University, and so that's why I want to start
(47:01):
with saying how great you were. Not only that you
were a heck football player. I'm talking about remembering calling
games when you were playing a twenty seventeen graduate First
Team All CIA. That number seventeen. You had seventeen tackles
against Delaware as a sophomore. So if you're wondering where
if I heard that name before, it's because it was
on the louds speaker seventeen times when they played Delaware.
(47:21):
You were three and one against the Blue Hens. That
you did a nice job against some wins a Delaware stadium.
But kind of same question. I asked coach Golders to
start the show, what do you remember about that rivalry
and playing against Delaware?
Speaker 26 (47:32):
I mean, exactly what Coach Golder jed, honestly, the passion
behind the fan base. I always knew one when we
were preparing for Delaware, that team was going to play hard.
That team was going to be assignmon sound, that team
was going to be physical. That team was going to
play football the way football was intended to be played.
I mean, that's just what it was. And then when
you got there, the fans were very passionate. Like coach said,
they would be taunting you and throwing things at you,
and you know, just trying to, you know, get on
(47:53):
your nerves. And you could really appreciate that. I could
appreciate that as a football guy. Who you know, my
fans at JAM you did the same thing, So.
Speaker 20 (47:59):
I appreciated it. I loved it, and I always did
keep track of James.
Speaker 26 (48:03):
I mean, I'm Delaware when I became a coach, you know,
I always felt like it was a great place and
not too far from my hometown being in Baltimore. So
it's really I really appreciate being able to come back
and being a part of this community. It's a blessing.
Being closer to my family is also a blessing. So
that's why I love it here.
Speaker 4 (48:18):
Again, we are glad that you are here. I want
to ask you for I let you go. I know,
next day weren't talk with coach Goldrich about a Rhode
Island game coming up on Saturday, But wow, you look
at who they've got at running back, Malik Grant four
thousand career rushing yards. He's been doing it well for
a very long time. What's the key to your defense
to slow on a guy like that down?
Speaker 26 (48:37):
I mean, of course, it starts with doing your job.
I mean, Malik is a very talented guy. They have
a great quarterback back there and Devin the offensive line
does a great job. I think you know the center
Trey and guard Dmitri. They do a great job just
moving guys out of the way. So they do a
good job of playing hard. They feed off of each other.
We're gonna have to do a good job of its
doing our job, being staying consistent, taking it one play
(48:58):
at a time, and just going out there and making
those players that are intended does for be intended for
us to make. So it's a simple game at the
end of the day. You just do your job, you
have fun with it. You play with more passion and
more effort than your opponent, and typically things work out
in your favorite Well.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
We know you will have them ready.
Speaker 4 (49:13):

Speaker 5 (53:11):
Enjoyed the thing?
Speaker 4 (53:13):
They did a great, great job. We appreciate them coming on.
Appreciate you coming on and talking a little bit about
the Rhode Island Rams, and we mentioned your playing career
in this conference in the CIA at New Hampshire. These
are not your old Rhode Island Rams by by any means.
In their fifth consecutive winning season and the job that
Jim Fleming has done there, you know, in his first
two seasons this team was two and twenty one. They
(53:36):
won two games in his first two seasons. This is
the eleventh season at the Helm of Rhode Island.
Speaker 5 (53:40):
What he has done to.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
Kind of transform this year really has been impressive. Speak
to the kind of the growth you've seen as a
guy that starred in the CAIA as a player and
now as a coach to what's going on in Rhode Island.
Speaker 6 (53:51):
Yeah, no, definitely it's impressive. I think, you know, the
only thing for us that we can relate to the
most is you turn on the film and you see
how they fly around. I mean, he's got those guys
playing hard in all levels.
Speaker 22 (54:00):
You know.
Speaker 6 (54:00):
Obviously we're focused more on the defensive side and top down.
Those guys want to play hard and they do a
really nice job with their scheme and how they're coach
and all that stuff. It shows up and definitely a
little different than the Rhode Island team I remember. But
I think, you know, with the transferportal opening up and
seeing some things they've done to move pieces around and
all that, it's pretty impressive because those guys are playing
on high level.
Speaker 4 (54:19):
YEA, They've done a lot of great things and really
credit to it to them. We're just sticking with with
Jim Fleming after a rough start and really he's got
that team on the rise. There eight and one on
the season, their only losses to FBS Minnesota, so they
are undefeated against FCF programs. I know you're watching the
defense getting ready to get your quarterbacks and everybody ready
for the game on Saturday. Seven tackles for a lost
(54:40):
per game, this defense has. It's the best in the
CAAA two and a half sacks per game, top twenty
five in the FCS.
Speaker 5 (54:46):
So what's the plan in terms of.
Speaker 4 (54:48):
Getting away from a lot of that pressure that they're
going to applying to your quarterbacks?
Speaker 6 (54:51):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean the big thing for us is
going in this game with some confidence.
Speaker 7 (54:54):
You know.
Speaker 6 (54:54):
I think we believe in who we are and what
we do, and we think when we do it at
a high level, we execute our game plan. You know,
we're tough team to stop as well, So staying within
ourselves I think is going to be one of the
big keys. You know, hoping the confidence piece is always
going to be important. But you know, for us too,
it's gonna be a four quarter fight, and that's what
we've talked about all week, is like, let's be ready
to battle for four quarters and maybe a little election.
Whatever it takes man to find a way to win
(55:14):
this one. That's an exciting environment, exciting opportunity. So I
think guys are ready. I think we're just going to
take them one play at a time and execute our stuff.
Speaker 4 (55:21):
Shout as coach Roders, he's got the offensive line right,
he's sitting in front row now. He gives a big
head out of the fist bump. He's got the O
line ready for that pressure that they are going to
be applying now every week on this show, and with
good reason. We talk about kind of the keys to
victory on Saturday, and the turnover battle has been the
key indicator of success this season for Delaware. They are
one of the top teams in terms of turnover margin
(55:43):
Rhode Island. You look at it, They've lost nine fumbles,
which is one hundred and fifteenth in FCS in terms
of rank OD have one hundred and twenty three schools.
They have thrown ten interceptions. I mentioned that that's one
hundred in FCS. They have intercepted only three passes, which
is one hundred and third in the FCS. And so
they do stug with turnover margin. Knowing how important that
that has been all season long. Again kind of a
(56:06):
question that I know the answer to how important it
is winning that turnover margin.
Speaker 5 (56:09):
This week as well.
Speaker 6 (56:10):
Yeah, well, I mean it makes it that much more
impressive that are sitting here eight and one with you know,
obviously those stats you're throwing out there because it's something
every football coach can relate to. And you don't turn
the ball over and you need to get takeaways, you
have a better chance to win. And what they're doing
is they're finding a way to stay in the fight,
you know, whether you know they've had a bunch of
comeback victories and done nice jobs staying on the field
and managing the game the way they need to and
you know, give themselves a chance to win, which is
(56:31):
the most impressive thing. Which has got why going back
to the you know, the four quarter fight. We gotta
be ready to go. You don't know what's going to happen.
Not expecting to be a perfect game, you know it
never is, but finding ways to handle that adversity and
doing a little bit better than them.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
You talk about the four quarter fight, and there have
been games this season where going into the locker room,
things maybe have not been going the way of the
Blue Hens, maybe tied or down, and you've made such
great adjustments as a team in the second half. Take
us in the locker room, ask coach Cardy all the
time about some of the adjustments that he may may
make in a game. But from your perspective, like how
important and how important is that time that the coaches
(57:04):
have to kind of look at things and then talk
about how your team has reacted in the third and
fourth quarter this year.
Speaker 6 (57:09):
Yeah, well, I think it's really twofold. I think the
first piece that is the coaches. I think we do
have a great group of guys that are you know,
bring energy, and they build confidence and they make sure
they demand it out of their players, and they have
great relationships. So when you're in the fourth quarter asking
to do something that's tough, these guys respond, which is
the biggest thing you're trying to do as a coach,
is be able to pull it out of them when
they don't want to. And then on top of that,
just the leaders that we have on the team are great.
(57:31):
You know, I think when you're asking these guys to
do things that are tough and they're responding, it's all
coming from the culture that's been created in the locker
room and the guys that are willing to do those
things and have sacrificed a lot to get to that
point and are passionate about the opportunity. So that kind
of helps build together when you go in there and
no matter what the situation is, you always got some confidence.
You know, always they never feel like you're out of
the fight. So you know, it's been great, it's been fun,
(57:52):
you know, just trying to do the best we can
to collectively as a group, keep that confidence up and
attack whatever comes next.
Speaker 4 (57:57):
Well, good reason to have confidence when you're playing at
home at Della Stadium. We've talked about throughout this show
the home field advantage that Delaware has still undefeated at home,
just to kind of speak to the importance that you're
telling your players and the emotions going into Saturday about
protecting Delaware Stadium and Tubby Raymond Field and remaining undefeated
at home.
Speaker 6 (58:16):
Yeah, well, I mean it is everything, and for the
listeners and everyone here, I think it's something we take
pride in and then we appreciate, you know, having the
support behind us, knowing that you guys care about what
we do. When we obviously you know, we want to
make sure we're making you guys proud and we're we're
playing hard and we're doing everything the right way. So
I think it's important for us to protect the tub.
I think that's something that we always will take pride in.
And having that home field advantage in a big game
(58:36):
is huge, you know, for what it's worth. When you're
in those games as a player or as a coach,
you feel the momentum shift when you get the crowd
behind you, and I think that might be the difference
in a close game where you know the turnover battle
is going to be tight, and then you know the
points on the board are going to be tight. All
those things might be the difference and get us out
on top. So looking forward to that. I think our
players are excited about it and once again appreciate you
guys for being there for us.
Speaker 5 (58:56):
Absolutely, it's been a couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (58:58):
We're excited to be there on Saturday and new Ark
