Speaker 1 (00:01):
The all new All Afternoons Slee Booker and Striker podcast.
All right, here we go, Booker and Striker. Let's try
to get a little show in before the sun goes
down in fifteen minutes, Striker, how are you?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Thanks for asking? Number one? I love the song we
just played. Oh yeah, loved it when it was released
many years ago. It feels fresher than ever right now.
But Booker, I'm doing well for two reasons. Number One,
when I went to get coffee this morning at Lodge
Bread in the Woodland Hills area, I got the best
spot in this horrible parking lot, where normally a Hugo
can only fit in the parking spaces. I got the

(00:37):
big space without even driving around. Then when I went
in for the coffee, the only one in line. Normally
there's a line out the door.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
What is it with La Coffee shops? And you said
a U go, which reminded me of Hugos in West Hollywood,
which had the worst parking behind Like, I don't know
what it is with La Coffee at King's Road and
not the when you get to cross park across the
street like you're playing Frogger. You'd like, damn near die
every time you get coffee there? What is with this town?
We have no parking for coffee, and Trader.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Joe's has terrible parking as well. I just think in
general most stores, specifically in LA, it's bad parking.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Bad park people are out.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
There at nine am, right when the parking is legal
on the main streets. They're zooming right into the metered spots.
It's a lot of it. It's the employees and then
have to pay for their own parking. Listen, I want
to talk more about parking for next forty minutes, or I.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Can tell you guys the alter ego artist of the
day that they're whatdy show announced this morning that'd be
twenty one.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Pilots anytime we play twenty one pilots between now and
six o'clock. If you call our ninety eight, you'll get
tickets for a sold out alter Ego show and we're
gonna play twenty one pilots many times today.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Okay, Green Day on that lineup with Sublime, Good, Charlotte Cage, Yellopant,
Miles Smith, Gigi Perez almost Monday. Hold on, you'll get
those tickets. As Striker said before, four easily before easily
before four. I like that book Herd Striker and Striker.
All right, Booker and Striker on a ninety age seven,

(02:05):
it's kind of a big day for all of us
around here. There's a well, there's an announcement that Striker
and I have to make and we'll get to it
in about twenty minutes. But something cool has happened or
us wow, knocking Striker with everything happening in the world.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
The champagne, I don't know if you've seen the video
for the World Series was rushed from the Toronto Blue
Jays locker room. They had to get it the hell
out of there because with bases loaded and one out,
they didn't score. But the Toronto Blue Jays folks behind
the scenes, like, we got to get the locker room
ready by putting all the bottles of champagne in there, right.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
We got used champagne that was used away from one
car lot to another one just like that.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And that's okay, But what a bummer and Booker and
I said it yesterday and today. If that, if the
circumstances that happened to the Blue Jays happened of the Dodgers,
we would be so bad and sad and.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
You would be sick, because I'm sick for the Blue
Jay fans, you know what I mean, Like there's a
part of me that's like somebody it's just not fair
that somebody had to lose that series, to go seven
eleven innings, like they had so many chances, so many
Dodgers out and they couldn't.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
And I'm glad they did.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
But Dodgers are better. They're just they're much more talented.
But the Blue Jays, as I said yesterday, were the
better team in the series. But it doesn't matter, doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
They want to win the game. You don't play it
just to play it. In the twenty twenty four World Series,
there were a total of one thousand, five hundred pitches thrown. Okay,
in the twenty twenty five series there were two thousand,
three hundred and eighty.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Four to be kidding me, more than double.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Just about double, just about double wow.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Nope, Yeah, and that's because there was the extra two
extra inning games and one of them went eighteen innings,
and if you add up all the innings, it wasn't
a seven game series.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
It was like an eight an eight game.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Serious people the magazine or website, they announced the sexiest
man alive.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Today, and I'm sorry, and I'm being honest.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I have no idea who this guy is. I would
love to give him love, but I don't know him.
Jonathan Bailey, he's in the movie Wicked and Bridgerton and
congratulations to him.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Didn't know who he was. My fiance told me yesterday.
I said I'd never heard of him. She said, you've
never heard of him. I never heard of.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
It, and I haven't heard of him.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
And listen, we're on the internet at least two to
three hours or show a day.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Normally it's red too.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
But Clippers play basketball later today versus okay, see La
Kings are playing Winnipeg and hockey.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
The Ducks are playing the Panthers. On Striker. That's all
I got.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I got a word for you. It's money. Money. Take
it to our website All ninety eight seven FM dot com.
Drop money in that box at your chance to win
one thousand dollars money at three o'clock.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
The al afternoons with Booker and Striker on All It's
ninety eighty seven.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
All right, Booker and strike it is all ninety age seven.
We teased about twenty minutes ago. That booker and striker
for the first time in our illustrious career are gonna
be like honored for something which never happens. So off
the top of the thing, we should say thank you
to our boss, Lisa Ward.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Thank you Lisa Ward and our boss for putting us together,
because we are going to be honored.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
For nothing, for nothing we've lied to.

Speaker 3 (05:23):

and The NAM Show once again is putting on the
Women's International Music Network fourteenth annual she Rocks Awards. Past

Speaker 1 (05:53):

Speaker 3 (05:55):
You are being honored Lisa.

Speaker 2 (05:58):

the NAM Awards they have chosen you.

Speaker 1 (06:04):

exactly what it is because she is pretty congratulations. Lisa,
tell her what it is quickly because we have no idea.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
What we're talking about.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Hi, guys, Lisa Fox from down the home. Although this,
you know, used to be my home for a long time.
Ninety seven, Lisa. I'm on the board of the International
Women's Music Network and every year Bonnie and Laura and
the whole, the whole gang decide who should be honored.
Which women in the industry are kicking some serious you
know what. And I got with Booker and Stracker and
we're like, duh, it's you. So you're amongst thees and

(06:37):

She Rocksawards dot com. Buy your tickets, come out and support.
It's been a great night. They honor people, you know,
famous names, people behind the scenes, people who are just
making a massive impact. So you're being honored this year,
and we're super crowd, of.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Course.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Congratulations.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Tearing up.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Well, just be happy to know that Booker and Striker
has still not won anything ever.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
You deserve it. You're the best.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Thanks for leading the station and doing so much in
music over so many years.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Lisa, Thank you, yes, thanks.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Now, according to you, you talk too much and we
have to play a song. Congratulations, you want to say anything.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I know you're in shock right now.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
And yeah, she had no idea that would you guys win.
There's no way you guys want Eddie.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah, you get it. Unless it's a long beach, we're
not getting anything.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Congratulations, Thank you, all right, welcome, you got it. Let's
play a song to collect herself and we'll get back
to drag though Tam and Paula booker and striker Lisa Warnon, Congratulations.
It is all ninety h seven booker and striker. Booker
striker Alter Ego. Artist of the day is twenty one Pilots.

(08:01):
Any twenty one Pilots plays and it will very soon
you call us, we get your tickets for Alter Ego
with that band in Green Day, some BlimE and more Striker. Now,
with everything happening in the world, you.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Know today is election day. I got that ballot right
in that ballot box today. Actually, Issley shout out. She
put it in the ballot box for me. But vote
centers are seven am to eight pm. More than seven
million ballots so far have been cast in California. Only
Prop fifty is on the ballot. I don't know about you,
but when you're filling in the circle, whether you're doing

(08:33):
yes or no, I'm like, I'm so careful filling in
that scene too.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
I don't want my vote not to count.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
And my artistry on it. I'm like, is that everyone
doing their their circle? This good?

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Because I mean as I think they are. It's like
I have more concentration on that circle than anything else.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
True.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
What do you think about this oreo? They are selling
Thanksgiving cookies with different flavors. There's a turkey and stuffing
hard pass, There's a cream corn ore here, there's a
sweet potato oreo okay, and there's a pumpkin pie close.
There's like a caramel apple pie flavor that of all

(09:10):
of those, I think I'll go the caramel flavored followed
by sweet potato.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Why wouldn't you do pumpkin pie in the middle of
that Oreo? I bet that would be kind of good.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
No, yeah, I think that would be very very good
with that, because.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Like, are you busy trying to come up with the
turkey and stuffing flavor?

Speaker 3 (09:28):
How about this?

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Instead of a turkey and stuffing flavor, have some turkey
and stuffing right, and then eat a normal oreo having
out a double stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
In years. Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
You know the system of a Down It's a band
that I love very much. They're from Los Angeles. It
seems like the guys are getting along really well. Sick
coming up, that's right, that's a Vegas. But they're also
touring outside of the US. Why are they going to
some of the cities they're going to. They're going to
cities that they've always wanted to visit. Individual member Darren

(10:02):
said in a band meeting, God, I really want to
go to Stockholm, and Surge says, and I quote, bro,
if you want to go there.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
We're going to start the tour there, Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
And so that's what that's where they're going to start
the system of a down tour. That's I think that's
cool that the band is getting along because they haven't
did a very long time good. There's a movie franchise
that I will be honest, I haven't seen one second
of it, and I know it did very well the
box office, The Mummy None. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Wise

(10:35):
are returning for a new The Mummy movie, and I'll
give it all the praise in the world, and I'm
not gonna watch one second of it.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
And I love Brendan Fraser.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Yeah, how about.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
This put some energy into Encino Man Part two and
I'll give you twenty.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Bucks right now.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
That was a very underrated film with poly short properly rated.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
I think everyone loves that movie.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
It's Sean Aston as well. It's true, so good.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Mumford and Sons announced another new album, Prize Fighter. Some
of the artists that will collab with Mumford and Sons
Gigi Perez, Alter Ego artists Chris Stapleton and Hosier Is
on this song Rubber Band Rubber Band, February thirteen. Mumfert

(11:18):
sometimes Marcus cost Clippers are home versus Okay, see La
Kings are playing hockey tonight. The Ducks are playing some
hockey tonight. I'm striker, That's all.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I gotta drop the word grand into the box at
all ninety eight seven FM dot com and pick up
the phone at four. We'd love to give you, said Grand.
