a three hundred million dollar facelift or they're going to

Shining and most scary movies is the Shining is just
an incredible film and script and acting, and there is

The top vote getters, and they are the artists that
are now on one ballots. Okay, those top seven vote
getters Fish Bad Company, Billy Idol, Cindi Lauper, Joe Cocker, Soundgarden,
and Chubby Checker.

Okay, okay, now what does that mean?
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Striker told them the top seven fan vote getters now
become one ballot. So for sure one of those is
going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for sure.
But every band or artist that was nominated is eligible.
There's over a thousand other voters that will vote that

will lead to who gets into the class of twenty
twenty five. Okay, wow, I think I but it is
such a guys I am into the Hall of Fame
in music and it's confusing to me.

Twins, Yeah, you think they think like those twins on
the news yesterday.

The women from Australia who talk in unison.

And one guy he was up there with our mom
and he he went up there and he was coming
back down on the worlds and he Gus Roun, he's
got it gone.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
They Bridget and Paula Powers from Australia. That was them
live on the news in Australia. They were on either
Fox or CNN yesterday and the host said, Bridget and
Paula please just one of you answer this please. They
couldn't do it to it and they're wearing the exact
same thing and they look the exact same.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
I think it's cool with twins are that connected? You know,
I don't know if Benji and Joel, like I don't
have any recollection of them being even that similar, you
know what I mean, Like they have very distinct different personalities.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
I think distinct personalities, yes, but five can you tell
them apart by.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Looks in twenty twenty five?
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Yes, no you cannot, because did you do it in
twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
I could back then, but that was after a lot
of interactions. I always hated it at the beginning when I
would have to interview the guys because you know, you
would just see them on TV and that's in a
video and it's grainy at best, and you probably got
makeup on and everything else. So the first couple of
times it was hard, but you know, once you get
to know them, you're It's like tattoos. It was tattoos
that you could use to identify one from the other.
(09:11):
And I think there was a specific tattoo that.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
At the time one of them.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
But I was like, I just memorized, like, you know,
black star, right elbow, that's Benji Benji whatever, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I was really good at identifying them early on. Without tattoos.
There was like a three percent difference in their shape
face the face of their shape. But I do want
to throw out another set of twins that are in
the Interrupters, Justin and Jesse and I hope they're not listening.
I know their mom listens to us. They're from the Valley,
the Interrupters.

I love those two guys that I'm so embarrassed sometimes
one of them as a mohawk.

We had an interview once and they were coming in
and I was like, which one's gonna be witch? He's like,

They and they are way more similar to those two sisters.
Then we just played then Benji and Joe, those two
talking unison. And again they're the rhythm section of the Interrupters.

So maybe they think I like that way just music, right.
I like it when twins have like names, like like
two of my best friends from growing up, they were twins,
Larry and Gary. Heck. I love whether there's Larry and Garrett.
Why would they do that?

Larry's still a good friend to this day. I see Larry.
I'm a part booker. Back then, well, in grade school
they weren't like great friends, so no, but when high
school turned around, I became friends with one of them,

the trailer twice, and I know trailers they take the
best parts of the movie. Whoever put it together just

Prince Junior's you know kid in the movie. It just

looks like they did a really good job. The original
came out in ninety seven. It's about a group of
kids that gets stocked by a murderer because the kids
did something really bad during the summer. And you know,
at some point during the movie, the bad guy will say,
I know what you did last summer?

I like when they use movie titles within the dialogue, just.

Yeah, exactly right. Now. Are you a fan of The Shining?
The movie? It came out a long time ago, but
many people consider The Shining with Jack Nicholson to be
a top fifty movie of all time.

Okay, it's excellent. It's very scary. The hotel that inspired
the movie, it's a real hotel. It's in Colorado. In
the movie they call it the Overlook Hotel, but in
real life it's the Stanley Hotel. And I know people
that have stayed there and they say, it's a really
good time in Colorado. The Stanley Hotel is getting like
a three hundred million dollar facelift or they're going to

refurbish it. So let me pitch you this. I don't
know if you're going to be recording that day.

Let's record from the Stanley Hotel. Why at the grand opening,
because it's where the Shining was.

It is somewhat near a Denver The reason why they
are doing the overhaul because if you recall their moving
the Robert Redford Film Festival, Oh Sundance too closer to
where this place is. So they're like, oh, maybe we

Some dark city to Denver, Boulder or somewhere over there.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Yeah, to Boulder, exactly. That's right. I'm kind of bummed
out right now. Booker knows a lot about a lot
of things, but not knowing the Shining. I don't think
you know. I know what you did last summer.

I don't watch scary movies. I've told you that. I've
just never been a fan of scary movies, and I
would put both of those in that category. I guess
I know what you did last summer is probably technically
not that scary. Oh okay, well, that's the thing. I
just I don't know. I don't like movies like that.

I am somewhat with you. But the difference between the
Shining and most scary movies is the Shining is just
an incredible film and script and acting, and there is
some violence in it and some weird stuff in It's
room two thirty seven, which is not available at the hotel.
There is no room two thirty seven there. Lakers looked
awesome last night. They are now tied in that series

with Minnesota one one the Dodgers. In Chicago, the Angels
are home versus the Pirates. La King's Game two. Stanley

I think depending on your age, you may say I

I just don't know of them that well. But your

entire life, you've had a computer screen in front of
you and mostly streaming was available. So can you tell
time on a clock with hands? There are there have
been studies done. I swear that I just read. There
is a large percentage of people in their teen years
and younger that can't tell time on a clock with

hands because their entire life they've got the phone or
something and they got the thing the TV right there,
and that's okay, it's weird. How about this? Can you
drive a stick shift?
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Yeah? Me too, drove one here?
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Can DJ regulate drive a stick good question?
Speaker 1 (16:40):
I say yes.

Wow, dju he is a man, okay, like he is
a full grown bearded man. He definitely drives a stick shift.

No, he doesn't have a stick shift now, But I don't.
I think maybe he's needed a couple of times. No,
I don't. I think if we pulled up a truck
right now.

I got a jeep downstairs. He couldn't drive around the
block without stalling.

Thing would rock and roll so fast, back and forth,
he would flip over on its own. Our producer, the

plenty of you that can't do it, and that's fine
because you just do email and not that many people

Do you agree with that? I guess I never thought
of it, But I just wonder what they teach in
school now, And like, you know, what are they teaching
in fourth grade?
Speaker 2 (18:18):
You're on a laptop learning how to a program, and
you're learning how to send email and use proper grammar
and that sort of thing. I have one more here,
what And I am a master at this next one
because one of my first jobs we had a cash register,
but they didn't tell you how much change you had
to give. I had to think of it on the spot.
Can you count correct change? And the answer is a

lot of people of a certain age cannot really because
everything they're paying with is in their phone. They're not
using money, which is again which is okay.
Speaker 1 (18:48):

I used money for the first time this past Monday
somewhere yeah this dancer.

I use the money local. I was at a farmer's
market on Monday in Hollywood on Fountain and I forget
the cross Street and it was near Fairfax and it
was great. It was a minut and I'm like, paid
everything with cash.

So you don't walk around with a couple of bills
on you.

No, I do. By the way, if you can predict
how much money is in my wallet right now, within

to say, you have listen alligator arms. All of a sudden,
