Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome into Bring Heaven Down. This is episode number eleven.
My name is Tim and I'm the host of this
dately devotional podcast. Hit that follow button so this podcast
will show up in your feed Monday through Friday. And
hit that rate and review button so we can get
this podcast to reach more people, because that's our goal. Well,

(00:22):
you want to bring Jesus into your car, into your
living room, wherever you listen to podcasts. And on today's episode,
I want to talk about the purpose and reasoning behind
the podcast name, because Bring Heaven Down is not just
the name of the podcast. Bring Heaven Down is a

(00:46):
practical way to live our everyday lives. So I want
to talk about that today. But while you're here, hold
on tight to that steering wheel, or grab your favorite
drink or cup of coffee, and let's bring Heaven a
little closer together. One of my coworkers that I work

(01:17):
with at our local church, his name is Josh, and
he did a message a few years back, and this
message has always resonated with me. He was talking about
every single day we have an opportunity and a decision
to make. We either bring Heaven down or we bring

(01:42):
Hell up. And there is no neutral. We are either
walking towards one direction or the other direction. With our
daily decisions, with our voice and actions, we either bring
Heaven down or we bring hell up. And to me,

(02:03):
this is an easy applicable way for us to live
our lives for Jesus because we can bring heaven down
in each area of our life. We can bring heaven
down at home in our relationships with our husbands and wives,
and with our relationships with our moms and dads, and

(02:25):
our relationships with our kids, our nieces and nephews and grandparents.
We can bring heaven down in our workplace. We can
bring heaven down in our relationships with our bosses, with
our coworkers, with the owners. We can even bring heaven
down at church in the way that we encourage and
can be vulnerable with other people about our walk with

(02:48):
the Lord. We can bring heaven down in the grocery store.
We can bring heaven down everywhere, and when we really
think about it, that's what Jesus did. Jesus was sent
to be the savior of the world, and while he

(03:09):
was being the savior of the world, dying on the
cross and resurrecting forgiving our sins, he was bringing heaven down.
When Jesus died on the cross and said, Father, forgive them,
for they do not know what they're doing. He is
bringing heaven down. When Jesus was performing miracles and healing
the paralytic man, and healing the man that can't see,

(03:32):
and bringing broken people towards him, he was bringing heaven down.
When Jesus decided to take Matthew, the tax collector, who
was hated and despised by the rest of the disciples
because he was a tax collector, and tax collectors were
hated people because they were all about taking people's money.

(03:56):
He decided to take that man and make him one
of the gospel writers. That is bringing heaven down. And
we can even bring heaven down in a place as
simple as our car, because think about it. Maybe you
do this. Maybe you're rocking out to a song you're
really feeling yourself. The song that comes to my mind

(04:19):
is I can only imagine it plays on the radio
all the time. I can only imagine. Yeah, I can
only imagine. I know I suck at singing, so just
hang with me for a second. I'm not pretending to
be a good singer. But maybe while you're rocking to

(04:40):
that song, maybe something like this happens. I can only imagine,
what the heck? Why did you just cut me off?
Surrounded by you? G look, does that ever happened to you?
Are you ever just in the middle of a jam
session near car, rocking out to a Christian song about
Jesus and then someone cuts you off or slows down unexpectedly,

(05:05):
and then you yell something in your car that nobody
can hear besides yourself, or maybe give a gesture or
you know, throw your hands up or you honk the horn.
That's a place where we can bring Heaven down instead
of yelling and then picking back up in the song,

(05:26):
we could be grateful that the Lord protected us from
a serious injury. This was something that I've been convicted
about for a while, and this first conviction came to
me years ago because my first reaction when I almost
get into a car accident, which rarely happens, but when
it happens, my first reaction is what a moron? What

(05:48):
an idiot? When my first reaction should really be Wow, Lord,
thank you for protecting me. Because a few feet here
or a few feet there, a second sooner or a
second later, and I'm in a car wreck. That's why
this podcast is called Bring Heaven Down, because there are

(06:12):
so many different areas of our life that this can
apply to. We have an everyday decision to make to
be purposeful with what we say and with what we do,
and because of that, that's why this podcast is called
Bring Heaven Down. We have an opportunity to bring Jesus

(06:35):
with us everywhere we go. In every discussion, in every conversation,
in every meeting, and every stressful environment, and every tough
talk with their husband or wife or kids, we have
an opportunity to bring Jesus into that conversation. And because
of that, we can bring Heaven down and we can

(06:58):
be an influence that Jesus wants us to be. We
can have an impact that Jesus wants us to have.
So that's why this podcast is called Bring Heaven Down.
Thank you for watching, and I hope you can apply
some of these principles to your life. And I pray
that the Holy Spirit will reveal more and more about

(07:18):
our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as we continue this
podcasting journey together. Thank you for listening and for making
this podcast a part of your day.
