Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everybody into Bring Heaven Down. This is episode three,
the day following Resurrection Sunday. Hit that follow button wherever
you're currently listening to this podcast so this podcast shows

(00:21):
daily devotional podcast. Thank you for making this podcast a
part of your week, and I hope you feel the
presence of Jesus during our time together. It was a
Resurrection Sunday this past weekend, and my wife and I
went to church in the morning. My wife and I
went to Gathering number one after church, and in the
(00:44):
afternoon we went to Gathering number two. I had a
thought come to my mind yesterday that I'm sure was
from the Holy Spirit, and I want to talk about
it because there's something I recognize in people yesterday that
I think should be on display more often. So hold
(01:07):
on to that steering wheel, grab your cup of coffee
or your favorite drink, and let's bring Heaven a little
closer together. I recognized something that a lot of people had.
(01:35):
A lot of people had joy yesterday. A lot of
people were filled with the Holy Spirit and had smiles
on their faces. They were dressed in dresses, suits, ties.
It was an exciting day. It was a celebration as
(01:56):
it should be. It was a celebration of Gajesus is resurrection.
Jesus promised that he would resurrect in three days. Nobody
fully understood what he meant, and then on Sunday it
happened his body was no longer in the tomb. The
(02:17):
tomb could no longer hold him because Jesus is God.
And as I recognize the joy that so many people
were exuding on Sunday, including myself, this thought came into
(02:39):
my mind, and I think it's a thought from the
Holy Spirit. Sure, we don't have to celebrate in dresses
and suits and ties every single day of the year
like we did on Resurrection Sunday. However, we should exude
(03:00):
the same joy that we had on Sunday throughout the
entire year, because Resurrection Sunday is the basis for our
faith and Jesus did raise from the dead. So you
(03:20):
think about the energy and the joy regardless of circumstance,
and it's really a joy that we should challenge each
other to have every single day of the year. For
those in Minnesota, is a joy that you should have.
Middle of January, six feet of snow on the ground
(03:45):
because Jesus died and rose again. Circumstances don't have to
take away our joy. For those South that deal with
tornadoes and have to deal with hurricanes and things like that,
no circumstance can take away the joy of Jesus dying
(04:07):
and being raised from the dead. So the challenge this
morning is to exude the same joy today, next month,
three months from now, six months from now as you
had on Easter Sunday, because the good news of Jesus
(04:29):
raising from the dead doesn't change never. So if you
believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and
the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives
in you, then we should have the same joy that
we had on Resurrection Sunday every single day throughout the year.
(04:52):
You don't have to go up in your fancy suits
and ties and your sun dresses every single day to
sell rate Jesus's resurrection. However, we should exude a specific
joy that can only come from the Lord, where people
(05:12):
look at us and say, wow, what is going on
with you? You should be having the worst possible day, yet
you still have a joy about you. And let me
make it clear, we can still have the worst possible day.
We don't have to pretend that life is always good.
(05:35):
We don't have to pretend that life has no problems.
That's okay. Life is hard. However, regardless of our circumstances,
we can be going through the toughest day at work,
at home, wherever it may be, and you can still
exude the joy that only comes from the Lord. There
(05:59):
should be a joy in each and every one's heart
that knows and follows Jesus because he was raised from
the dead, And even if it's the middle of November
and our minds are not on the resurrection, we should
still think about it and be intentionally joyful because of
(06:25):
what He did for us on the cross, and because
of what he did when he was raised on Sunday.
The good news doesn't change regardless of what time of
year it is. Thank you for making this podcast part
(06:46):
of your day. Hit that follow button wherever you are
currently listening so this podcast shows up in your feed
Monday through Friday. This is a daily devotional podcast, and
I'm so excited that we're going on this journey together
where the Holy Spirit is going to reveal more and
(07:09):
more about our Savior Jesus each and every day. Thank
you for tuning in
